confession

byakuya would rather die than confess first. it's mostly because getting rejected would honestly break him.

makoto is a bit oblivious to byakuya liking him at first, but catches onto subtle hints. byakuya doesn't just willingly hang around anyone.

makoto confesses to him with a note, and byakuya tells him that it was a "very middle school approach" to a confession. regardless, he accepts.

makoto is glad he accepted. to be honest, he's horrified of rejection too, especially from byakuya of all people.

they aren't extremely open about their relationship, both are fine with that.

relationship headcanons

byakuya only tolerates hugs from makoto, and will occasionally initiate them first. this is only in private though.

makoto likes sitting around while byakuya works, usually reading books, or just napping while he does.

makoto usually gets dinner for them since byakuya is working around dinner time. he'll take a break to eat with makoto though.

byakuya hates on everything random people in public do, makoto defends them without knowing them.

makoto is a total outfit repeater and togami hates it, despite most of his suits looking the exact same.

makoto is trans, and byakuya obviously doesn't mind. makoto is still his boyfriend regardless, why would he care?

makoto got more into reading when they began dating.

makoto has absolutely no spatial awareness and will bump into a wall he saw coming from a mile away. byakuya merely shakes his head and asks if he's fine.
