This might sound weird, but leaning into the aromantic label and exploring and thinking about my life being aro has been really freeing actually. Like I feel like a relief from the way I normally feel like I have to think about things. And part of that is just like tinder and bumble being much more tolerable and fun now that I’m looking specifically for what i want and not for what i thought i should be looking for. But also like songs feel different and thinking about life feels less stressful now that I’m not worried about having to find a romantic partner. I dunno, I worried for a little bit that maybe something was wrong with me for feeling free not thinking about romance stuff, but being able to look into aro stuff more and talking to my friend who is also in the aspec community, I just feel like im letting go of stuff that didn’t suit me

You post a lot about asexual, is it rude of me to ask if you are one?

When I was 16 I identified as Asexual because I wasn't attracted to men and had so much internalized homophobia that I didn't even let myself consider being attracted to women. Then when I was 17 I really let myself consider it and realized I was hella gay and very sexually attracted to women.

Because I spent a lot of time learning about Asexuality and engaging in the culture, I have a deep respect for it and the people who are Asexual.

A lot of aphobes act like what happened with me is what will happen to all Asexuals, that they'll one day realize they are actually attracted to X gender. But that's not the case, that's not how Asexuality works. Lack of sexual attraction is a real orientation and has been recognized and embraced by the LGBT community for ages.

I love Aces and everyone in the ace/gray/demi spectrum including romantic orientations as well. There's a lot of bullshit that gets spewed around and meaningless, hurtful discourse so I'll defend the Asexual community till I die.

Hi, I really appreciate the "you aren't bad if you don't reblog this" things in the "reblog if you agree" stuff but would you be able to add "#reblog bait" in the tags too by any chance? That kind of thing is really triggering to my (and a lot of other people's) OCD even with that disclaimer (I'm really sorry, I feel awful asking this. I just wanna make sure other people are safe)
