i think it's dangerous to forget that although the character writing in deltarune is really really good, and it's remarkable that toby has managed to set up most of the main cast as lovable and well-developed and compelling in just the first two chapters, it is still just the first two chapters. there is SO much we don't know about everybody's character and backstory yet. susie, kris, and ralsei are the biggest mysteries, sure, but noelle clearly has a lot of character exposition to get through as well before we can understand her better, as does berdly. thinking we already know characters like the back of our hand can lead to instances like the newest girl girl blog post where people were calling susie ooc just because they thought she had been unshakably established as someone who "only bullies reactively" which. no?? what about when she stomped through the dark world in chapter 1 beating up everyone in her way? what about "but susie, what if the enemy might be nice?" "yeah, there's a word for that. striking first." we don't know nearly as much as we think we do. maybe susie only bullies when provoked, but (at least in and before chapter 1) she views everything as a provocation. she was very much okay with striking first to protect herself. and kris laughing at her when she attempts to scare them would DEFINITELY have come off as a challenge to someone like that. obviously it's not okay what she said, it's massively fucked up, but everyone in this game is fucked up in some way. don't assume every character is going to be perfectly laid out in front of you like an open book in the first two chapters of a seven-chapter story.

Prefacing this by saying i love krusie, but:

Every time somebody breaks up suselle for krusie instead of polyshipping an angel dies

Every time somebody makes art of noelle being visibly upset and distressed by krusie happening an angel dies

Like do you really need to break up the adorable canon ship to make your best friends to lovers ship work. Do you really need the transbian out of the way that bad.

The hallway scene in chapter 2 makes it fairly clear noelle is actually pretty chill with susie and kris hanging out. She doesnt seem mad if only a little bit flustered.

She asks susie to come do work with her and corrects herself to add kris, clearly respecting and supporting the two as friends.

Meanwhile later in the game a similar scene plays out and she starts shaking berdly at him merely mentioning a crush on susie. Like you can reason she did nothing to kris in this scene because they arent explicitly saying they have a crush on susie and its infront of susie but still even despite this she never brings this up to them again and even has them as a sort of wingthem for alot of the chapter. All this to say noelle is at least tolerant of kris and susie being a thing and heavily implied to be open to being in a polycule.

This is to say even if you do wanna break up suselle for krusie, which sucks, at least portray her accurately. Dont make her pissed off. Whenever i see art of kris and susie kissing with noelle in the background fuming i just. It makes me mad.

Alot of you just need to know polyamory exists and see that it fits perfectly here. Krusielle is litterally so much better and in character then breaking up suselle for krusie.

I see people justify it with "oh but noelle is obsessive / toxic" which she isnt and also "but suselle makes me uncomfortable" which is like. Ok who am i to invalidate your feelings but. How does that even happen.

Krusie is a valid and awesome ship, i love kris and susies dynamic i really do, but if you need to break up suselle to do it then you need to reanalyse the game.

Plus as said krusielle is the best ship in any media ever so :P

(Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last wrote, so I'm back with a bang! First of all, a quick warning, my idea was to make this nsfw, but since it's impossible for me to think of some characters in that kind of situations, I've tried to make it as neutral and non-specific as possible so that everyone can adapt their ideas and imagination. Also, sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, I really find it very, very difficult to write with the pronouns they because I'm not used to them 😭Enjoy!)

They stand still for a moment, but then lets out a low, raw laugh. They stand up, turning to you with a look full of determination. “So this is what you planned. Very well, I like the way you think.” Their tone is authoritative but laden with desire. They take your face in their hands and, without hesitation, kisses you deeply, making it clear that theyre willing to put everything aside for you tonight.

Though they don't quite show it, the spark in their eyes reveals that they're willing to put their rigidity aside… just to please you.

They stop what they're doing, their expression remaining neutral, but you can notice their gaze darkening slightly. They turns to you, getting close enough for you to feel the warmth of their skin. "That sounds interesting… but I'll need a demonstration to convince me." Their tone is low and teasing, and though they seem relaxed, their posture makes it clear that they're more than willing to let themselves go in the moment.

Kinich, Cyno, Clorinde, Chasca, Aether, Lumine, Xilonen, Lynette, Rosaria

They froze for a second, as if they're processing the information. Slowly, they turns to you, their eyes boring into yours with overwhelming intensity and a teasing smile. "If you wanted my attention, you have it all now. What do you intend to do with it?" Their words are a veiled challenge, and though they maintain their composure, you can see the fire igniting behind their gaze. They took your hand firmly, leading you towards them, determined to explore what you've begun.

They pause, their face tinted with a soft blush as a warm smile forms on their lips. "You think so?" Their voice is soft, but there's clear emotion in it. They turns to you, taking your hands gently. "If that's what you want, I'm not going to resist." Though they're shy at first, their desire to please you leads them to completely give in.

She look straight at you, her eyebrows raised and a confident smile on her face. "Mess up, you say? That sounds like a challenge." Without losing the control that characterizes her so much, she leans towards you, getting close enough for her presence to completely envelop you. "I hope you're ready for what you've started, because I don't plan on stopping."

They turns to you, their eyes shining with excitement and a wide smile. "Try new things? I think that's a fantastic idea." They blinks, clearly taken by surprise, and their face is tinted with a slight blush. “That sounds… interesting.” Their voice is a low murmur, almost nervous, but you can sense the curiosity behind their words. They set the book aside and, although somewhat awkward, pulls you towards them. “Maybe I need a little help understanding your intentions… can you explain them better?” You can tell they're willing to go with the flow, even if it’s something new for them.

Jonas and Diane Harrington sat in silence as their son's confession hung in the air. They'd met homosexuals before. You didn't travel as much as they did and not meet different people. But it had never occurred to them that someone so close to them - that their own son might be...

"Can you guys say something? Please?", Steve begged.

"Oh honey...", his mom started. "...Was Tommy?"

"What?", Steve pulled back at that. "Tommy? And me? Me and Tommy? No. We were never like that. Ever."

"Well, good for you son. You can do better", his father said, leaning back in his chair a little.

"He was so smarmy. You deserve someone who'll actually take care of you", Diane said, putting her hand on top of Steve's.

He looked down at the point of contact. "What's happening here?"

"Well, you being, you know, in your way, doesn't change our conversation", Jonas said. "We still think you need to stop sleeping around and find someone to be a little more serious with."

Diane nodded. "It's not good when all the gossip at the hairdresser's is about who your son is messing around with. Oh! What about Matthew?"

Steve raised a brow. "Your hairdresser?"

"Not mine, but he did fix me up when we were in New York, you remember the gala? He's nice, worldly-"

His parents looked to each other, proving that neither of them really had an answer. With a sigh, Steve asked to be excused and when they granted permission, he went up to his room.

"Our Steve...a...a queer", Diane whispered.

"You think it's because I made him play football when he was a kid?", Jonas asked.

Diane shrugged. "If anything it's because of all those musicals we watched together. Then she released a heavy breath. It couldn't have been easy for Steve to tell them. And it couldn't have been easy for him to go on all those dates with those girls.

And if the rumors were true, he'd done more than date them. Jonas reached out and grabbed his wife's hand. From the moment their son had been born, all they had wanted was for him to be happy and healthy. Sometimes the healthy part meant leaving him for extended periods of time. Clearly, he'd been left on his own for too long. Surely they would have caught onto this sooner if they'd been around more, been involved more.

"What are we going to do?", Diane asked.

"You and I knew what we were going to do when we started this conversation", Jonas said, standing up from the table and putting his hands on his hips as he paced about the kitchen.

"Jonas, we can't give him Noelle's number now."

"Not Noelle, we just switch gears. Find a...a Nolan instead", Jonas decided, nodding as if to convince himself.

"Jonas, even if we can find another gay guy in this town, how do we know Steve will like him?"

Diane shook her head. “You just don’t know what you’re talking about.”

"Well, the bar is very high Diane. Steven is obviously the best looking boy at his school."

Diane grinned and stood up. "Was. He graduated, remember?"

"How can I forget? The grays won't stop coming."

Steve's graduation had been what had sparked this evening. Not getting into college, their son had seemed directionless. And messing around with too many girls had been the cherry on top. They had agreed to a gap year for him if he could use the time to get his relationships in check.

If he was into men, that made it slightly more challenging, but they wanted to give Steve the freedom to find himself. It was more than either of them had ever had. And what good was all the money if they couldn't spoil him a little.

"So, maybe I don't know what he's into. Doesn't mean I can't find him a good guy", Jonas said.

"Believe it or not, your parents are capable of higher brain functioning", Diane said, already setting to unpacking the bag and putting the clothes away. "Some of this stuff doesn't even fit you anymore", she noted as she looked through his closet.

"Hey, how's about we all take a trip to the mall tomorrow?", Jonas suggested. "Refresh our wardrobes for the summer!"

"Oh that sounds perfect!", Diane agreed. "It's been a while since we Harringtons turned heads as a group."

Steve sat on the edge of his bed, looking tense, yet hopeful. "You guys don't...you don't think I'm any different? You don't...", his voice got small, "hate me?"

"Oh Steven!", his mother wailed and sat next to him in a rush, holding onto him tightly as she cried.

Jonas cleared his throat. "Di, there's no need for tears. There's nothing sad happening."

"I'm not crying because of Steve", she said defensively. "I was thinking about Matthew. I really hope he and Otis worked it out. And that he knows he always has family who love him. And that even if the world beats him black and blue he can always come home, okay? Always, you can always come home."

"Yeah mom, I know", Steve said, eyes wet as he got her thinly veiled meaning.

Jonas sniffed and patted Steve's shoulder. "And if the world does decide to put its hands on you, remember your old man's got mob connections."

Steve gave a watery laugh at that but thanked him anyway when his mom lit up in recognition.

"Oh! What about Ricci?"

"Ricci? For Steve? Get outta here", Jonas waved her off.

"Who is Ricci?", Steve asked.

"He's a nice boy", Diane answered.

"He's a numbskull is what he is. I'll do business with the mob, but I'm not giving them my son", Jonas said as he walked towards the door.

"Who said anything about giving? His family's well off, he can take Steve nice places", Diane said as she followed him.

Jonas threw his hands up in derision. "Mobsters are like five year olds with their dames. Once they lick it, it's theirs."

"OKAY good night!", Steve closed his door to shut out the rest of their talk.

"We're going to the mall at ten, honey! Be ready for breakfast", his mother called out, then continued her conversation with his dad. Probably debating whether or not to set him up with a closeted senator's son.

Steve rubbed his face and let out a sigh. He'd confessed tonight to get any talk of girls out of the way for the summer.

hii! im not sure how eloquently or clearly ill be able to explain it but i definitely have some pictures you can look at!

i actually got the idea while i was away on a trip with very limited wifi -- it wasn't Trust Me that i got an AMV idea for first, but instead it was one of 4syu's other songs, There's Nobody. for such a happy sounding song it really made me so sad, to the point where if i tried to sing it to myself id get choked up by the chorus LMAO. it was baddd

but basically i was rapidly trying to find both songs on spotify so i could listen to them offline, and it only took me a few loops of Trust Me and thinking about the original MV to make me go "ohhhh. how can i make this about noelle." And so i did .

i was thinking about doing a storyboard, but in the past, i've found that doing storyboards for animations/AMVs lowkey... kills my motivation altogether... SAD... but i saw the whole video so clearly in my head, and i didnt want to make the same mistake i made before... so i went right to doing quick sketches (while still on my trip...) just so i could get the ideas out of my head

i was torn on what to do with my style at the time, whether i wanted to make it more similar to the original video, or to her canon appearance, or to MY style and how i draw her. i think it kind of ended up as an amalgamation of all three...? at the very least, her light world color palette definitely was more bland and desaturated, like i purposefully wasn't trying to do anything special with her colors.

after that point, and getting maybe a few of the actual drawings done, my motivation crashed again, and i left it all to marinate for nearly a week. it was baking, guys, it wasn't abandoned, listen to me, why are you throwing tomatoes at me,

i had up to about the "I dreamed about that again" animation done and stopped, and it wasn't until i decided to sit down and start editing it anyway that i really got in my groove again. i got all my little assets into a workable state so i could really try to sit down and make the video come to life and all

the really fun part was honestly working on the desktop backgrounds. i really wanted to limit colorpicking from the original video as much as possible, but i decided that making look as similar as possible to the original could help with the contrast i wanted to add later.

i drew these two backgrounds first. i was hoping i could somehow fit the bunker into the second one, but decided to do something different anyway. the second one's ui didn't actually change until later in the editing process.

drawing THESE were fun especially, and im happy with how they came out. i think the dark world icons are really cute still. one thing i really did know i wanted to do from the beginning was to turn the soul/undertale icon into the deltarune one.

i was worried if the shift from the Windows Field Background to the dark world would be too sudden, like you would just blink and suddenly it was all different, but i think it ended up all right...?

the not so fun part was drawing all the different boxes, lmao. it go really tedious by the end, so i tried to reuse as many of the same ones as i could.

a lot of copy-pasting and tracing rectangles for sure.

i also had to make sure the animations didnt Suck. i brute forced those things and used every last braincell i had in order to make those pictures move bros

fun fact. ive never animated hair like this before. or in any complex manner really. i had to use sooo much brain here... heres how it started vs. how it ended up

had my animator gf hype me up thru the whole thing... i was having a great time based on the filenames alone

aaaand then ummmm i edited it. i learned after effects like 1 month ago. never touched it before. i learned it for internship purposes and then used my newfound powers for evil it seems

i split the whole thing up into multiple compositions of course, but i probably could have split things up more... im sorry for having 84 layers on comp 3 its not my fault

editing a video in 12 fps was a fun change though -- very easy for my brain to go frame-by-frame, and yet still some of the timing ended up being off... tis the goomy way

like i said before, i started editing when i barely had half the drawings done, but seeing it all start to be in motion really pushed me to finish it up. and i mean Really. like i finished the whole thing maybe 48 hours after i first started editing.

and...i think that's it? i do a lot of discord art streaming to friends lately but i kinda kept this one more under wraps compared to usual, i think i just wanted to surprise everyone... look guys i remembered how to make a video! and it's three minutes! waow

You had your arm around your girlfriends shoulder when they pressed the record button and one of the seven boys who's named you found out was JJ started yelling at the camera.

You had known about the sidemen, you did live in London after all their fans were everywhere and almost all their videos went viral.

You smiled when you felt Caitlin laugh at one of their jokes and looked at her "ya happy we came?" you whispered and she turned to you "I reckon we smash em" she smiled and you laughed at her enthusiasm.

It was early in your relationship and you hadn't made anything public yet in terms of media-wise, you tried to keep it a secret from the team but the captains clearly latched on to your closeness and beat it out of you.

When they were discussing the 'discount code' you slipped your arm off Caitlin and started playing with the soccer ball underneath your feet "What about Gunners" you said when they didn't like their first word.

"Oh yeah Gunners!" KSI said with a shrug as Josh celebrated behind him.

You all went to your spots as one named Ethan just explained the first game. "Someone throws the ball in, touch it once, and then kick for a goal," he said and you all agreed.

"I don't think we need to ask if we're partners right?" Caitlin joked, her Aussie accent popping through as you laughed "yeah but you're going first"

JJ went first, kicking a fairly easy shot but your goal keeper and friend Manu must have been day dreaming cause she watched it go through without moving.

"Manu babe!" you called out "You just watched it go in!" you called out to her which made the girls laugh "I'm warming up" she defended herself and all the girls laughed again.

You were happy you agreed to come now it seems more fun than you thought.

The boys were still celebrating as you patted Ruby "your turn Rubesicle" you told her as she and Noelle went over.

You looked at Caitlin whose competitive nature had taken over her as she started to squint around "You're going to get lines if you squint Catie" you teased and she shook her head "Shut up".

You smiled, proud of yourself as Ruby took her shot and Toby caught it, next was Harry who had an impressive kick but Manu shot up and tapped it away which left you speechless.

All the girls erupted in cheers at your friends talent and all the boys clapped whilst complimenting her save.

"Care to do that against Chelsea next time?" you called out and smiled when you saw Manu look at you with a deadpan expression.

Noelle went next and also kicked an incredible shot but Toby blocked it in the same mannerisms as Manu.

Everyone went into shambles again and Noelle went to her knees, you got so excited that you clung on to Caitlin that let out a loud gasp.

"That was the save of his lifetime!" Noelle yelled and everyone laughed.

Next was Ethen who hit the post and you and Caitlin walked up to the camera which you smiled at.

"Hi my names Caitlin Foord" Caitlin introduced herself "I should score but we'll see" she shrugged, you laughed at your girlfriend as you repeated her words to her "C'mon Caity" you encouraged before throwing the ball up and watching as she touched it with her knee and kicked it into the middle and straight into Toby's hands.

"Caitlin!" you yelled knowing that she could kick a better goal in her sleep "It is scarier than you think" she defended herself to you as you both laughed going back.

You watched Josh go next as he tried to do something cool but failed...miserably.

You couldn't hold in your laugh as he whipped his head around to see where the ball was and Simon who was next to you laughed harder from your reaction.

"We brought grandad with us today, sorry" Ethan yelled out and for a second you felt bad for the man but he was also laughing at himself so it seemed fine.

You and Caitlin walked up again as you looked into the camera.

"Hi my names y/f/n but if I miss it's Caitlin Foord" you smiled before Caitlin yelled out a 'hey' as you smiled cheekily at her.

Caitlin threw the ball as you touched it with your right foot to keep it on the ground but went back a little to smash it, it seemed like it was going to go in before Toby stretched out his leg and hit it out with his foot.

You groaned as Caitlin laughed at you and grabbed you to take you to the line.

"You almost made me do the splits!" Toby called out and you laughed "be more flexible then" you defended with a smile.

A couple more shots later and a failed trick shot the whole fourteen of you were smiling ear to ear as you all had fun. Simon got another one in and now you and Caitlin were going up "I reckon low corners he's expecting high shots" you told her as you looked at the goalie.

"hey, no team chatting!" JJ called out as you both laughed and separated, you threw the ball and Caitlin touched it before kicking back left corner which he thought would go high, just as you predicted.

You cheered for Caitlin before she opened her arms for a big hug as you ran back to the girls "on the map" you sang out to them.

It was your turn soon enough and you did the same thing as Caitlin but switched to your left boot so it would go the other way which Toby got confused by and dived the other direction.

"Oi she's strategic!" Simon yelled out towards you as you gave an innocent smile to them which they laughed at. When you were walking back Caitlin whispered in your ear "such a smart girl" she praised as you blushed.

Once it was your turn again you completely smashed it with your left foot making the ball go fast so Toby wasn't quick enough to stop it as it hit the net.

"Let's go!" Noelle yelled out from her spot on the side and Ethan clapped "beautiful!" he hyped as a smile formed on your face and Caitlin laughed.

The boys ended up hitting 5 before the girls and next was a crossbar challenge which Caitlin ended up being a gun at, scoring three of the five you and Ruby being the other two to score one.

You looked at the camera before sighing "something about the boys crying out in defeat is empowering" you shrugged and walked off, you didn't know that clip of you would become viral in a couple of days.

Penalty's were next and you put yourself up second in line, before Caitlin, you were first to get one in for the girls and Caitlin quickly behind as you both clapped hands.

"They're like a dynamic duo" JJ whispered out loud "if only you knew" you joked back and Caitlin pulled you away before you could see the look on their faces.

Your next one you ran towards the left but kicked it to the right making Toby confused and go to the left making your shot clear and easy.

"I'm quite proud of myself there" You smiled at Caitlin who smiled "You're too adorable," she told you before going up herself.

It was now 9 - 7 and you only needed one more goal for the girls to win the round and it was your turn.

"This is really nerve-wracking" you admitted before the boys started yelling things out about 90-minute goals and champion leagues.

You winked at Caitlin before taking your shot when it hit the net all the girls came running at you with cheers and you jumped up and down.

Next was free kicks and everybody kinda sucked at it but the boys eventually scored three, even if you accidentally hit Harry in the chest and had to apologize six times as he said 'It's fine' with a clearly winded voice.

It was two all and we decided to end it on rock paper scissors which you elected Caitlin for.

"Why me?" she asked "Cause I will end up forgiving you if you lose," you said as the others nodded Caitlin just rolled her eyes and went against Vik.

Vik went rock and Caitlin paper so we won and all the girls went into cheers and you jumped on Caitlin's back "Oh yeah!" you yelled out as she laughed at your excitement.

When she put you down she covered her microphone "Am I going to get rewarded for this miraculous win" she said with a smirk and you just smirked back at her.

It was one thing to have a rogue spider hiding in your house, but an entire other thing to have nests of the things in every single conceivable room.

Sara doesn't really care about bugs, but an entire houseful of them is where she crosses the line.

She still can't believe that the spiders actually respond to S/O whenever they ask them to move or get something.

It was impressive they could do that, but Almighty Shogun help S/O if she found the spiders crawling around near the Tenshukaku.

(Sara) "Gah! S/O...d-don't have the spiders just sitting on your head. It makes you seem unkempt."

It deeply unsettles her as she one time watched a treasure hoarder get overrun by spiders and tossed into the nearby river.

Well, at least she didn't watch someone get eaten alive in front of her.

(Shenhe) "...There are spiders on you, S/O."

Shenhe moves quickly to crush them, only for S/O to wave their hands to defend them.

She may not have had contact with her fellow humans in a long time, but even she knew that this was not something normal.

At first, she wonders if S/O is an Adeptus, or trained to speak to animals in such a keen way.

Nah. They just really like spiders, and they seem to like them back.

...Neat.

(Shenhe) "You allow spiders to rest in your house? May I ask why?"

Shenhe doesn't understand at all how it works, but if they treat S/O and her kindly, she has no problem with them.

She's used to the outdoors and dealing with bugs anyway, what she isn't used to is how friendly the two are.

She especially didn't expect to be working with them, as monsters tried to attack them one day, only to get absolutely mobbed by the spiders, commanded by S/O.

Shenhe makes a note in her mind to ask Cloud Retainer if there's anything special about these spiders, or if S/O is just that weird.

How did atalanta go about hiring noelle she doesn't seem like the type for atalanta "business"? 5"4 and scrawny!

Atalanta has that particular ability where she can sense talent. Honestly, it's like she can smell it.

She was looking for a personal assistant/secretary and Noelle's resume ended up on her desk. Noelle had just finished a master's in business and her grades were impeccable even while working all through school. She also had extensive experience in computer science.

Now, no matter how good the candidates looked on paper, Atalanta will have both her people looking into them, and Zachariah's people looking into them. From this, she got a detailed dossier of Noelle's childhood and basically her every move since she was born. From this, she also found out Noelle was a lesbian like Ata, which caught her attention. She also found out about Noelle's hacking experience and how it seemed like many people who crossed Noelle were discovered to have malware and keylogging on their computers. Noelle also seemed to be very able to hack into security cameras and gather information on people, an important skill.

Atalanta was intrigued by this girl, but it wasn't over yet. She still needed to do an interview.

The day they met, Atalanta Montclair was sold on Noelle. This was undoubtedly the person she needed by her side. Due to her background, Noelle was clearly sensitive to money and could be counted on to keep her mouth shut for the right price. Ata needs someone who can work on the stuff for the company and keep it above board, but she also needs someone who can carry out her bidding from the shadows. This small, weak-looking girl has a fire in her eyes so raging that it momentarily took Atalanta by surprise. This was someone who had been fighting to survive since the day they were born and wouldn't fold under any circumstance. If you rewarded them, they would be loyal to you forever. This was exactly what Ata needed.

Noelle didn't grow up in the city (she moved there for college), but she was well smart enough to know she was speaking to someone very, very important. They were having lunch at a fancy restaurant and Atalanta obviously fits in perfectly, but Noelle feels like she's sticking out like a sore thumb. But she won't roll over and take it. She needs this job and she'll do what she has to to get it.

Ata was thoroughly charmed by this diamond in the rough. She can already tell that Noelle will be a great asset. To Noelle's shock, she offered the job right there. 300k plus benefits in exchange for complete loyalty to Ata and her signature on an NDA. Agape from a number she had never even considered in her life, Noelle accepted.

Two years of working together later, here we are; two best friends for life.

speaking of dr, there's something that really annoys me about how shallow the ship discourse around kr4lsei is. I'm not sure I'm 100% behind this for the same reasons i doubt toby will go full in with noelle's mom being abusive, ie "those are very delicate and complex topics to handle, does he have the time and space to deal with them in deltarune's story?" so take this with a grain of salt.

i think the discourse being framed as "thinking ralsei is presented as a romantic interest" vs "thinking ralsei is compared to kris' brother or like a family member" is incredibly stupid because those are... both true at the same time. yes, there's an unskippable "tunnel of love" scene, and it looks like ralsei could have somewhat of a crush on kris. but ralsei still 1) looks just like a dreemurr, 2) clearly plays, as a character, on our feelings and memories of asriel from playing undertale, as evident by their designs and their names being anagrams 3) i am 99% sure Noelle was going to say "that kinda looks like asriel" while looking at him eating cotton candy with Susie, and Susie herself suggests telling toriel he's "a long lost cousin". either way, if ralsei is meant to play on our feelings towards asriel, then as asriel's sibling, kris is likely gonna feel similarly.

are you uncomfortable? good! you should be. that's the point.

it's not random that the snowgrave route was framed and portrayed with the imagery of a wedding. first the freezering, then the thorn ring are explicitly compared to wedding rings. "we're just friends"/"we're something else". "YOU'VE BEEN MAKING [hyperlink blocked (...LoVE?)], HAVEN'T YOU?" noelle with whom kris had a strained relationship, whose feelings (platonic? romantic? we don't know) we brute force in what is the most chilling, manipulative, cruel iteration of chapter 2's story we could take... it's almost as if deltarune uses kris being forced into romantically coded situations they're deeply uncomfortable with as a way to showcase their lack of agency in the story.

and being pushed into romcom-like situations with a guy who looks like their brother works pretty darn well to follow that pattern, if you ask me.

now, if a forced romance with noelle represents their lack of agency in regards to the player, then... a forced romance with ralsei could represent their lack of agency towards Fate. The Plot/Story. unskippable cutscene, remember? not to mention ralsei's whole purposepilled shtick he clearly has a complex about.

this does raise a couple of questions about susie though, as the third option in the "who would you take to the fair with you" question, the one option kris seems to agree with, as well as being a character who is actively resisting the narrative.

because there's people who are very much FOR krusie, just as there are people against it, i doubt their getting or not getting together would work to represent kris gaining their agency back. and i believe i speak for everyone when i say that susie is going to play a huge part in that arc. either way, i'm curious to see how this develops.

idk! like i said, I'm not sure just how much toby is gonna go into this because it IS a very delicate subject. but it's an example of what i mean when i say "there's more to fandom than shipping" and "fixating so hard on Shipping Good Things" can be detrimental to analysis. ~ Favorite thing about them

For starters, I LOVE HERO so much because he's been with us (TLQ) since the very beginning and even showed up at the end of Shifting Mound "fight".

And of course because he really cares about our well being. He hates dying and clearly very against hurting ourself and usually caring about the Princess' well being a lot too. He's a very... vulnerable? character, he's really sweet. I think the only times he's given up on us would be in the Tower (pledge), and in the Fury when he dies...

Also I like his voice.

~ Least favorite thing about them

It's not the thing I dislike of him, more like - I dislike the things that happen to him. The bad things. My heart HURTS when I hear he's in pain (but I am an angst/whump enjoyer so..)

And I know he's safe, I know he's willing, I know he's probably going to be okay and find the others, but leaving him in the cabin (in Leave with Princess Ending) makes me feel a little hollow.

I loved the part where Hero had to run the autonomic nervous system, very silly, and I think Hero would have quite a lot of respect for Para for being able to do that. As for Connie, well they have some fun banter, and Connie stays with Hero in the cabin

Spectre/Spectre III x Hero as a rarepair? I just really like how Spectre calls him "the nice one".

I wanted to say that HEA would be a sweet one, but then again Hero was the one who suggested to just stay there and it made both of them kinda suffer... The same goes for Nightmare and Cage.

Are they brOTP or OTP? Maybe both, I don't know. I just think they'd enjoy each other's company very much.

My friend says Hero can't spell restaurant.

If he ever finds the other voices after Leave with Princess ending, I think he'd try to lead the group after deducting that the others are way too traumatized or violent. Skeptic or Hunted might be second in command?

Not a headcanon but Hero reminds me of Noelle Holiday from Deltarune. They're insecure or a little hesitant about their own decisions and relatively nonconfrontational. They're kind to the ones closest to them, and generally want the best for everyone.

He's not an uwu innocent delicate fragile boy.. I mean sure I act like it, but he does have his own wrongdoings/mistakes/things that would be better if he didn't ask us to do, like leave the Princess locked in (leads to Nightmare), leave immediately after Prisoner beheaded herself (leads to Cage), stay with Damsel (leads to HEA).

Although I think you can rationalize them? Most of his own decisions in Chapter IIs are fear-driven, but he's actually one of the more stable characters.

He's pretty insecure. He almost always waits for TLQ's decision before backing it up/defending us.
