The train had been rolling through the mountains for what felt like days.

After the end of the festival, the train was nearly empty. Very few made it back to board. With no conductor, the train kept on rolling and rolling, as if by magic. You imagined it would keep going until it broke.

Even still, it had stopped in several places, and each of the survivors had left. All but you and Levi remained, with nowhere to go, no stop to get off at.

It was violently chilly within the cabin so you two would sit together. He shook like a leaf. He hadn’t been able to regulate his body temperature since the infection left him feverish and dizzy. You kept him warm by feeding him shots of vodka and holding opium pipes to his mouth. You had torn the curtains off the windows to fashion into a faux-blanket, but in his sleep he always kicked it off.

“Just drink,” You pressed the bottle against his lips, holding his head in your lap. “Drink it…”

He made a miserable whimpering noise, already wasted. “I can do it - hic - myself…”

He grabbed the bottle out of your hands with his own clammy paws. Vodka and the occasional slice of bread had been the only thing keeping your stomachs from churning. The train had long since passed your stop (it had run in a long loop to west Voroniya to Oldëgarde and to Rondon). You refused to leave him alone. He couldn’t even walk.

The bottle slipped out of his hands and broke with a sudden crack. Then, he hunched over and started convulsing, violently, and vomited on your shoes.

“No - fuck - I’m sorr -“ He gasped between convulsions. You scrambled to hold his hair back. “I’m sorr- y - god I’m a - I’m a - fuck up —!!“

“It’s okay!” You held on tightly. He was sweating hard, his whole body cold. “No, you’re okay…”

“‘S nooottt okay…” he panted, letting out one more painful cough. “I couldn’t hold it… I….”

Not knowing what else to say, you gave him a tight hug. He groaned drunkenly.

“I’m not mad.” You ran your hand through his hair.

“I got your shoes…. Dirty…” He muttered hoarsely.

You shook your head. “They were ruined anyway.”

He returned to a normal-ish state shortly thereafter (normal for Levi). He was clearly still shaken up about the noise of the bottle dropping, but he seemed embarassed, and his embarrassment had stifled his panic. You had nothing but more beer to help the taste, which he seemed to have wanted more of anyway. Despite being so small he could really hold his alcohol.

After a moments silence, you heard a hiss of pain from your lap again.

“Does it still hurt?”

“I won’t throw up.” He promised meekly.

“I don’t care about that, does it hurt?” You insisted.

He hesitated and then nodded. “….hold… me… again… please.”

You sat him up and held his head up to your chest. You felt his pale body shaking restlessly and his stomach cramping. You felt his ragged breaths hitting your neck.

“It’s okay,” you whispered. He shook his head.

“I want to go back,” he croaked. “I want to go back to prehevil. I should’ve… gone with everyone else… I… wish I’d stayed in the orphanage, I wish I was one of them.”

“Don’t say that.”

“…” He nodded.

“At the next stop, we’re going to a hospital. Look, I already saw a house. There will be more nearby. And don’t say you don’t want to go.”

“I can’t walk… my legs…” He closed his eyes. “My legs are gone.”

“I’ll carry you - I don’t know…”

He took a long, pained breath through his nose, and nuzzled into your neck like how a kitten would. His eyes were still closed, he was so drunk he was delirious. This was the first time he had ever gotten so affectionate with you. To anyone, as far as you could see. You gave him a squeeze.

“I’m tired.” He admitted. His voice was close to you, nearly speaking into your ear. “Really tired. Can I sleep with you tonight?”

Your hand went up to gently rub his upper back. “Yes, of course. Of course, Levi.”

He sighed. “That feels nice.”

“Really?” You petted him. “I’ll keep doing it, then.”

He held you tighter and made another small noise. “Thanks.”

After a while, he was asleep, and a backdrop of houses began to roll in. Soon, you’d be in town.

The child's full name is Bakari Touden!!! Because of Ninoe's cultural background and how naming works, Bakari's real name is actually much longer, but shortened as its easy to refer back to Bakari.

Bakari is a major bookworm and enjoys learning about anything the earth has to offer, this means rummaging through her father's monster encyclopedias and her mother's handwritten magic journals.

It took a lot of convincing for Laios to agree to have a child, he didn't even wanna get married at first but came around to it. Ninoe on the other hand, was very excited to continue both of their legacies in a meaningful and impactful way. Laios would also be lying if he didn't say he wanted to see how their kid would turn out too.

Bakari is adventurous, curious, timid but well spoken. She can be overbearing sometimes when it comes to helping people, but she really does mean well.

Funnily enough, Bakari is terrible at magic. Even though she was taught at a young age by her mother, who published various spell books, just couldn't grasp it. As she got older she began to take magic more seriously after learning how important it was to both sides of her family.

Chilchuck, Marcille and Senshi have all babysat young Bakari! She loved Senshi in particular and how gentle and kind he was, always cooking up something for her whether it be her favorite meals or something new she'd want to try.

Bakari. Loves. Monsters. Maybe its the beastman side of her, but she'll eat any monster any day, just like her parents!

Everyone outside of Laios' circle was surprised he would marry and have a child with a beastman. It was extremely uncommon. Despite that, people were kind, but curious to Bakari about it. Ninoe in particular being so glad she didn't go down the same self-hatred path she once did, embracing the beastman part of her and enjoying herself.

Bakari enjoys when Toshiro visits because she likes to get him outside of his somewhat anti-social bubble, helping him express himself more in fun ways. Toshiro would never say this outright, but he feels like he's befriending Laios all over again, this time with a fresh and understanding mind on the matter.

Falin was overJOYED when she heard that her brother had a child!!! She would nooottt put that baby down...For awhile Bakari thought Falin was her 2nd mom as a baby lol

“Oh..Iya, itu aku ga sengaja rusakin” ( “Oh..yeah, I accidentaly broke that” ) Aluna spoke out hesitantly, Liz have always been like this towards Aluna, the reason being that she has a crush on Hanbin like all the other girls in campus, and she thinks that she deserves Hanbin more than a stupid junior, meanwhile Aluna has never been the brave type, especially towards her seniors, meaning that she’ll take the blame when it comes to these situations. “Tuh kan, udah dibilang!” ( “See, I told you!” ) Liz scoffed, showing a satisfied expression, “I’m sorry, I’ll make up for it” Aluna sighed, Hanbin could only look at her, it hurts him to see his girlfriend being like this, “Yaudah aku pulang duluan ya? Besok aku gantiin kok kak” ( “I’ll be heading home then? I’ll make up for it, It’ll be done by tomorrow” ) Aluna forced out a smile before giving a bow to Liz and the others, walking out the room to go downstairs.

Soooo.... I'm totally not biased by aaaannnnyyyy means when it comes to this ship (yeah, really totally nooottt...) But I find it to make sense, and compel me.

I think that Fuegoleon and Solara compliment each other, while still being very different from each other. He is definitely much more structured, organized, do-it-by-the-book -type, and a lot more calm individual than Solara, but they come from a genuine place in terms of their emotions. Sure, they have a lot of miscommunication going on in the beginning, because they're walking around their emotions, but when they come to light, they don't shy away from them, and are in it for the long run. They're both compassionate, caring and supportive of each other, and they're not trying to make life into a fairy tale. Rather, they're living the life they have and try to make the most of it; they're grateful for each other and the happiness that they have. They are both self-sacrificing, which is why they both take hits from time to time (in battle), but they also try to take care of themselves, because that's what the other would want. Essentially, they're trying to be sensible about a lot of the situations, but sometimes life isn't as kind.

They're just trying to live, and love each other, and I think that's beautiful~
