Jewish Hawkeye Pierce HCs!

Okay, I know there's a lot of discourse about the idea of Hawkeye being Jewish, but idfc. I'm Jewish and he's Jewish because I said so. All of these are my personal headcanons about him and his Judaism. If you disagree, good for you! I don't!

Hawkeye is, in fact, a practicing Jew (jk, he perfected it!). He's reform and is Jewish on both sides of the family.

His father's side had always lived in Maine and had Anglicized their surname, which is why his name is Pierce in the first place.

He absolutely LOVES the holidays, but doesn't celebrate like he used to when his mother was alive. He still often visited his mother's side of the family in New York, though.

Daniel Pierce and Hawk always loved living in Crabapple Cove, but they would hide their Judaism, as Daniel worried about their safety.

Hawk was most in touch with his culture (since the passing of his mother) when he went to med school. He got to truly bond with other people like him, including the queer community.

He's fluent in Yiddish and often has conversations with Sidney exclusively in Yiddish. They might throw a few English words in to fuck with someone.

Father Mulcahy is super tight with other chaplains, especially the Rabbis. Thanks to this, he's been able to lead private services for Hawk.

Going to school in New York was a cultural reset for this man. He was like. "I need to be more overt about it but like. In a silly way..."

“There’s nothing wrong with the legal / prison system”

Until women are getting killed and sentenced to prison for abortions. Until women are being ignored all basic necessities for their pregnancies. Until wrongly convicted people are trapped in a dehumanizing cell for years. Until drug addicts are sentenced to prison without getting real help. Until people of color are getting shot by cops for simply being POC. Until crimes against trans people are being ignored. Until sexual assault cases are completely ignored. Until they decide to drop the missing person’s report. Until they decide that your call wasn’t worth their time.

There is so much wrong with the legal system. Nobody deserves to be locked up in a dehumanizing cage where they become slaves to the state. Once you’re in prison, you are state property. You don’t get proper hygiene, proper nutritional care, or the mental help you need. Most people don’t need a cell, they need rehab, extreme mental help, or something else that’s not as cruel as that.

People get sentenced for crimes they didn’t commit because a cishet able-bodied rich white man said they did it. People are going to prison for their drug addictions and being stuck in a cell for the rest of their lives instead of going to rehab. People are rotting in prison for simply being homeless while world leaders are committing genocides and getting off scott-free. So yeah, there is something wrong with the legal system.

The religion discourse in anarchism never changes, and you know what: it's getting old. There's so many anarchists who are so committed to that old slogan that was appropriated from a Blanquist of all people that they're absolutely confident that when anarchy is established they're gonna get rid of every form of religion there is, and these same types of anarchist always operate by the same Christian/Christian-ish or 19th century understanding of religion, which completely fails to deal with religions that aren't based on the idea that your continued existence after death depends on you following the correct religio-philosophical doctrine to the letter and worshipping one correct god. This problem especially applies when dealing with things like paganism, indigenous religions, and occult movements (and, by extension, any understanding of Satanism that does not conform to The Satanic Temple's neo-romanticist new atheism). Some anti-theists openly say that their answer to the general phenomenon of religion is to coercively proselytise against people who have any given religion: to harass, stigmatize, and even violently attack people in the hopes of getting them to leave their religions behind. They justify such behaviour on the grounds that "religion" is comparable to racism as a "false belief" and therefore inherently oppressive. Lo and behold, Soviet anti-religious campaigns are to be waged by anti-Soviets! Is there not a sweeter irony?

But the fact is, I am tired of the whole discourse on the internet, though I may keep making a lot of the same points I do, because damn it I am justified in doing so. Regardless, I say, let's just dispense with it all in favour one simple thing: I will not conform to your vision of reality by any means, and as far as anarchy is concerned, you can either respect that or I will fight you. We either understand each other on the subject, or we can't be "comrades". We're either on the same page, or we're probably going to be enemies. And if you have any illusions of us putting up wth any fantasies of violent proselytism towards us, you should reconsider them. And I very much mean to be an egoist/individualist about this. I find that's not particularly difficult through Stirner's philosophy. There will not be any complications in play, and the anti-theist who doesn't like this can simply get fucked. I am not interested in compromise here, and I am not interested in discourse with them.

This might be a weird take but I hate tags that are like "actually _ [disability)" like yes, let's put off people who might be questioning if they are that. Like. Idk. It gives me the opposite effect of helping people. We all know how much the Healthcare system and how doctors SUCK ASS. Okay one thing I don’t understand is why they decided to make Rabi En Rose’s skin a lot lighter in later adaptations? Like in the original series she was a lot darker compared to Dejiko and the gang

And they also never fixed it in the 2023 series?? idk what anyone else thinks but she definitely had more melanin than the rest of the characters -3-
