NCRPB makes its Geo-Portal ‘PARIMAN’ accessible for public
A Geo-Portal ‘PARIMAN’ that was developed by National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) a couple of years back initially for the use of the states participating in NCR, has now been made open for the use of public. The Geo-Portal aimed at helping in improved management and decentralised planning of NCR, can be accessed through the websites: https://ncrpb.nic.in/ and https://ncrpbgis.nic.in/. Moreover, the portal developed through National Informatics Centre (NIC) will help in effective utilisation of GIS technology and remote sensing. It has around 179 layers having lines, points and polygons that cover various details like land use, water, industries, transport, health, power, shelter, disaster management, heritage & tourism, etc. Spread over 55,083 sq. km, the NCR includes four participating states, encompassing 24 districts and the entire NCT of Delhi as its constituent area. PARIMAN was launched on 31st August V2018 by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri in the 40th meeting of the NCRPB . Puri is also the Chairman of NCRPB. Commercial Projects In Greater Noida West
Greater Noida West's Preleased Property rates and land demarcations are slowly rising every day. This area was previously known as Noida Extension. It is free from all legal hassles and knots that have so far blanketed its growth. Builders and developers have resumed the construction part not and are en route to launch fresh projects. The NCR planning board (NCRPB) has just consented to a master plan for this region. The plans includes breathtaking infrastructure like major networks and roads, expressways, metro connectivity and PPPH (per person per hectare) enhancement. This relates to the density of the figurative and appropriate population of this area.
The market narrative
As many as 70 builders and developers have obtained spacious allotments, plots and properties for making high-rises, low-rise structures and residential blocks, which will cater to a projected multitude of nearly 10 lakh. Considering a government finding, approximately 2.6 lakh fully made homes would be ready for use and delivery within the coming 3-5 months. Before inculcating wholesome residential allotments and launching newer construction rives, group-housing plans and plans, the GNIDA have allotted well over 4, 000 residential houses to numerous buildings. The authorities have got the state government's nod in acquisitioning the 16 2 hectares of land in Shahberi village. Owing to its nullification by the Supreme Court, it has a direct impact on land rates and fixtures in Greater Noida West.
The present scenario
Given the current landscape, homebuyers and investor can buy properties freely and at ease. The nod and consent to go ahead with all pending and current Commercial Projects In Noida and installation drives from the Greater Noida international planning and development council has fuelled many real estate ventures in this belt. Covering more than 8, 980 acres, Greater Noida West is well linked to the main Noida. The township is 4-5 kilometers from the parent region's sector 121. A road emerges for this area and passes through the Hindon belt. It connects sectors 1-4, 10, 12 and both 16B and 16C. It also links Knowledge Park 95, tech-periphery and other significant areas in greater Noida. This road is further connected to a 60 meter wide long road emerging from NH-24 highway.
Residential projects
It was a feasible gamut of affordable houses once upon a time. With the current real estate syndrome, Greater Noida West has various residential projects in distinct financial brackets. Top market players and movers for land and plots are pivotal in this context. The developing space is all set to host a competitive battle in terms of price and location. Commercial and corporate activities are slowly creeping into this area as rates are relatively lower than other developed segments of Greater Noida and Noida.
Re-initiating construction
After the land acquisition imbroglio and the consequential nullification of the important assessment petition of the farmers' authority, the NCR planning board intervened and propelled a great plan. Thwarting all developmental impediments, construction has resumed once again. Rates keep soaring high with realtors playing the bills for this improved compensation to all displaced farmers. As directed by the Allahabad high court, this is in tune with price appreciation, which has taken a fresh turn after the court's verdict affected property rates in Greater Noida West.

HUGE SHORTFALL IN SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES SPELLS DISASTER
As in many other critical environmental issues, the Manohar Lal Khattar government has failed to tackle the enormous problem of sewage treatment in the state, exposing the urban and rural populations to grave health risks. The measures taken by the state government have proved to be grossly inadequate and huge volumes of untreated industrial and municipal waste continue to flow into the lakes, drains and rivers polluting the air and sources of our daily drinking water supply. In many places the government is also dumping the sewage in the rural areas threatening the health of the rural populations and the fertile soil. Even the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has castigated the Haryana government for being a habitual offender in terms of sewage disposal. According to a report of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), the urban population in Haryana is expected to grow to 1.05 crore by 2021, nearly double the figure in 2011. With it will grow the problem of sewage management. The pace at which the Khattar government is setting up facilities for sewage treatment, the state is expected to face a catastrophic situation. By 2021, sewage generated in urban areas is estimated to gallop to 1342 million litres per day (MLD) from 599 MLD as in 2011. The shortfall in sewage generation and treatment facilities is expected to increase manifold from 400 MLD in 2011. The lack of foresight in the Khattar government is also quite evident from the fact that even the existing sewage treatment plants have been left redundant because of industrial waste also flowing into the normal municipal waste for which the STPs are not geared.

Residents of Greater Noida and GreNo West will receive Ganga water supply from this year. According to officials of Greater Noida Development Authority, the Ganga Jal project for the city will be completed by October this year, and supply will be initiated thereafter.
But promises are often broken.
The project was to be completed in 2013, but is still continuing. Though the authority is promising water by year-end, according to sources, only one-fourth of the work is complete.
This supply — when it begins — will replace extraction and consumption of groundwater for residents of Greater Noida.
However, looking at previous records, the claims of the authority seem to be rather far-fetched.
Greater Noida Authority had launched the scheme to supply Ganga water in the city about 10 years back. Land was acquired for the project in 2007, while work started in 2010. At the time, the project budget was Rs 300 crore. The authority loaned credit from National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB).
The project was to be completed in 2013, but that never happened. In April 2016, the authority set a new target of March 2018, but fearing non-completion, they set a final date for October 26, 2018.
Rajiv Tyagi, general manager of the project, said, “The work of laying the pipeline from NTPC to Dehra is under way. The construction of the 11-km pipeline will be completed in June this year, 26 per cent of the work is complete. The water treatment plant is being built in Palla village. Water will be carried by pipelines from Palla to Greater Noida.”
The work of the project has been delayed owing to protests from villagers, he added.
Under the project, 85 cusecs of water will be supplied to Greater Noida. Two to three lakh households will be supplied Ganga jal in the first phase. Authority officials said that Ganga water will not be mixed with groundwater. In the second phase, the rest of the households will be covered.
The question — is the authority to be believed? Will the residents get respite from the muddy groundwater any time soon?
