What are your headcanons of Lily and Mary’s music taste in a modern au?

Lily I feel like would have a very mixed taste between very modern pop and indie, old music (aka 70s music), and some generic 2000's songs, and also she listens to the most basic white girl music while doing tasks, so her playlists consist of weird combos, like Justin Beiber and ABBA.

Mary gives me more very modern, very hyper pop, very 2000's music (like everything 2000's especailly Ayesha Erotica), and also like she has a playlist of depressing music bc it makes her feel better. she also had a lot of the weeknd mixed into her playlist for no reason

What kind of music do you like to listen to? Care to share some of your music you like to listen to?

That varies PRETTY WILDLY based on my mood, hahaha

I'll try and give a bit of a sampler platter below the break. This is nowhere near everything either; just what I can think of right this moment xD

Gonna start with a specific artist recommendation -- Shoutouts to Just Fern & Softgirl!!! I found out about them in like 2016 and I absolutely love their sound; it was the main thing I listened to for a long time and it's still very much a big slice of nostalgia for me.

Obviously I've been listening to a ton of EPIC, what with the sagas all each getting a chance to destroy my brain, but more generally sometimes I get in the mood to just. Listen to musicals?? And/or musical style soundtracks. To suggest something that isn't EPIC... have some Heathers I guess?

Recently I've started to listen to a bit more alternative pop almost ENTIRELY thanks to all the animatics I watch? I'unno if pop changed or my tastes have changed but either way I've found a few artists I've fallen in love with.

Emo/Midwest emo/post emo music is VERY decidedly one of the first genres of musics I absolutely fell in love with, and as a result it's a comfort zone. To pick something that's a biiiit less mainstream...

Folk punk is something I have also just ABSOLUTELY have fallen in love with. Some of it is stuff I found as a teenager, other stuff is things I found when I was stuck in a terrible situation and needed some screaming to get me through it

Regular folk is also cool and fun. Shoutouts to filk especially it is a weird and fun movement and more people should know it exists x3

What kind of music do Clint and Nat like to listen to?

Hmm good question.

I think Clint would listen to a lot of dad rock. From the 80s-to early 2000’s. He like older country too but none of that new “she thinks my factory’s sexy” shit but more in the vein of Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. He also has an affinity for blues and smooth sensual jazz. For the more contemporary I’m thinking Teddy Swims specifically and alternative rock.

Natasha listens to whatever is playing really. I don’t really picture her following the Top 100 charts, but if she has to put something on in the background it’s popish. The kind of music that oozes feminine power. I think she would still enjoy Russian bands too and listens to them often and sings along. She also likes instrumental, particularly as a soundtrack to her workouts. For a bit there, Natasha was into new age metal but that fizzeled out

I made playlists for each forever ago. Both can be found somewhere on my blog. Those are the kind of songs I associate with each character and can picture them listening to.

Whenever I title my fics after a song (which is 99% of the time) I want the actual song it's named after to set the mood for the fic. It's like its theme song yk.
