So the new trailer for season 2 of Arcane just dropped. A couple things I wanna highlight and get people talking about:
Tumblr media
First thing, the straps of Jinx’s shirt are missing. Not sure what this means for the time being, just caught my attention.
Tumblr media
Vi looks scared/hurt here. Her hand is reaching out to something (someone? Ekko? Jinx? Caitlyn???? Who knows) I’m afraid 😀
Tumblr media
Piltover being bombed by Jinx and the rebels of Zaun that follow (worship?) her. I know it’s bad news but SUPER cool looking shot of the multi colored smoke. There’s A LOT more people behind Jinx than I initially thought there’d be
Tumblr media
I’m not 100% sure, but this looks tied in with Viktor and everything Heimerdinger was warning him and Jayce about with the Hexcore. Super interested to see the aftermath of killing Skye and possibly opening a can of worms that can’t be shut
Tumblr media
As hot as Vi looks with black hair and the streaked makeup, I know she’s goin THRU it from what was rumored on the snippet shown at the Annecy thingy. I’m excited for Vi to be all emo and broken so we can see her be built back up
Tumblr media
Caitlyn using this fuckass thing, holy shit
Tumblr media
NEW JINX LOOK NEW JINX LOOK NEW JINX LOOK NEW JINX LOOK im even more scared, it’s like she put on literal war paint to fight
Tumblr media
Possible flashback/ added backstory to Vi and Powder’s lives during the attack that led to their parents’ deaths? Or another child with their hair painted blue who follows Jinx during the current war that’s about to unfold
Tumblr media
We might have just been right about Silco becoming another hallucination. This screams Silco to me. Curious about how this will affect Jinx
Tumblr media
And last but not least. VI. AND WARWICK. OH NO.

what's in my bag
Tumblr media
i saw a tumblr post asking people who carry bags what items are there to bring other than “chapstick, keys, phone and maybe a tampon” and tbh that stuck with me. so here is everything i keep in my bag because i like to be That Backpack Person who has everything for any common occurrence.
after years of experimenting with my everyday carry, trying out trendy backpacks such as the fjällräven kanken and the doughnut macaroon, i surprisingly now find myself reaching for the jansport right pack backpack the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
look at it in all its glory decked out in pins, buttons, and charms. i recently wore it going apple picking at an orchard and had no issues.
so here are its contents:
Tumblr media
front small pocket:
mini emergency kit (i’m reusing an old gum container to keep small things i find myself needing often: bandaids, painkillers, hair ties, loose cash to give to the local homeless, four quarters in case i go to ALDI or want a gumball) + pocket tissues (this is what i run low on the most) + mini UNO cards (waiting in line with friends? play UNO) + tide to go pen + 2-in-1 battery bank/plug-in charger + phone charging cable + d20 dice (stimmy)
Tumblr media
front medium pocket:
wallet + coin purse (to collect loose change) + disposable pens + e-reader + car keys + work ID + vape
Tumblr media
water bottle pocket:
the 24-oz owala water bottle is, and i’m not sponsored when i say this, the best water bottle i’ve ever used. the design is genius.
Tumblr media
laptop pocket:
reusable shopping bag (i impulse buy a lot so this is useful) + one “big” tech thing and its charger for entertainment purposes. i like to have multiple entertainment options because i’m mentally ill. i’m currently carrying my steam deck OLED with me but i may sometimes instead bring one of these:
ipad: for web browsing, drawing, word processing.
freewrite alpha: my current way to write fiction. think a modern alphasmart that lets you transfer files locally or sync to the cloud if you prefer that.
work laptop: for work.
main pocket:
mini tote (i use this to easily transfer whatever’s in the main pocket to another bag) + journal (a traveler’s notebook) + large emergency kit (sanitary pads, herbal oil for aches, eczema hand cream, earplugs, makeup wipes) + noise-canceling headphones + electric fan + hobonichi drawer pouch (other charging cables, wig caps, bobby pins, gorilla glue, facial wipes) + compact umbrella + pencil case
Tumblr media
pencil case:
mechanical pencil + pencil lead + mini sticky notes + multi-ruler + white gel pen + glue stick + eraser + scissors + highlighter + brush pen + metal pen (it works like an 8 ball where you roll it and it shows you an 8ball-esque answer)
what you put in your bag is a very personal thing! i am always fascinated by the different ways people hold their things and what they find worth carrying around.

I've used a lot of makeup over my last 9 years of cosplaying, but this is whats in current rotation. My criteria for products is affordability, what performs well irl and in photos, and products that for the most part have a lower rating on the ewg scale (with few exceptions). I also don't really buy makeup outside of sale events like Black Friday, after Christmas, or during some promotion just so ya'll have context about the price ranges listed per item.
That said, this is more to share products and tools I use to create a base for other looks! So things that are more personal like eyeshadow, lipstick, blush etc were left out as that's really more of preference for each person.
I've included product links under the cut, if anyone has a cosmetic gem they've found over the years I'd love to hear recs!

Hannah & Jumper have a Makeup Cartel. Jumper ran it in season 5 but once Hannah joined, she used her knowledge of dyes and Jumpers creativity of mob drops (spider eye lipstick, Wither Skeleton - Squid ink mascara / eye liner, & bonemeal highlighter (+ cocoa beans for a darker complexion)) they then made SAFE make up alternatives (Jumper, Bless her, couldn't learn apothecary / botany for her life.) Hannah used the Bonemeal x Certain Dyes for multiple different eye shadows / powders, Glowing Squid Ink x Dyes for face paint (Bc Kab likes Face Paint for LORE), & Bone Marrow x Dyes for multi colors blush. (The Blush & other bone materials healing & hydrating their skin.)
(also btw I no NOTHING about using make up & HOW to use it)

Burnout
That's ridiculous. I'm as ready to go as ever.
The image(s) above in this post were made using an autogenerated prompt and/or have not been modified/iterated extensively. As such, they do not meet the minimum expression threshold, and are in the public domain. Prompt under the fold.
Working with multi-prompting under 6.1. It produces good results, but ignores most of what's going on. So... kinda like 5.
Prompt: A red, glowing alien cloud with an eye in the center of it, floating over Antarctica. A man stands on desert ground, looking up at it, shot from behind him. The night sky is illuminated by orange and teal lighting, creating a cinematic atmosphere.:: A dramatic sunset sky over the Great Plains, with vibrant orange and yellow hues painting an epic scene of swirling clouds above a lone tree silhouetted against the backdrop. The photograph captures the intensity of nature's display in high resolution, with sharp focus on intricate details like ripples or cracks in cloud formations. It highlights how natural elements can create stunning landscapes that mesmerize and evoke emotion.:: beautiful woman in neon yellow-green body art, full-length body portrait glowing with light from within, intricate swirls of vines and flowers in a fantasy style with hyper-detailed black background and vibrant colors, a digital painting in the style of Artgerm and WLOP and Greg Rutkowski:: 3D cartoon in the Pixar style of a full body of a woman wearing a black and brown bodysuit with makeup shaped like an S symbol on her face against a red background. She has short hair and wears high heels. Red eyes. Rendered in the Pixar style. In the Disney style. A cartoon character with no shading. A full-body view where no feet are visible. Her hands are raised as if helping herself stand up after falling down. She looks confident but also very sad.

ages ago i asked what makeup you wear and you gave a lovely answer. IF YOU LIKE (cos obviously maybe you don't want to) i would LOOOVVEEE an update
okay HONESTLY i don't actually have much of an update because my makeup routine is in a very much "if it ain't broke don't fix it" phase so very few products or steps have changed iirc - HOWEVER i know leaving the message at that will prompt at least one other anon to come out of the woodwork like "wait so where's the original makeup routine ask" and hand on heart, i know i am never finding that shit, so let me run through it again:
(also disclaimer this is very much my Going Out makeup look, day to day i will do nothing at all or at most brows + mascara + a bit of concealer. before anyone thinks i'm using 20 products daily and has a go at me for it, you never know on this website)
brows: i think this is one of the few steps that HAS changed because now for brow gel i use got2be glued instead of whatever i was doing before. to fill them in though i still use the MUA thin brow pencil because it's a perfect match for my hair colour, i like the formula, and, most importantly, it's literally like £3
eyes:
first off i prime with my concealer (sleek in your tone longwear concealer) & set that with my powder (still on a multi year streak of the relove by revolution super matte pressed powder, i have gone through so many of these it's embarrassing). i know you're not "supposed" to set your eye primer bc leaving it tacky makes the eyeshadow more vibrant but have you considered: the texture.
anyway eyeshadow i will just do whatever because i have 5000 ancient palettes i'm still trying to use up, when i say ancient i mean my go to combo is still (although i've very nearly panned them now, please clap) two of the neutral shades (obsessed and SBN) from the original jaclyn hill morphe palette. it's not expired if it hasn't given me conjunctivitis and that's all i'll say on the matter.
THEN i do my eyeliner (still on the NYX pen, have failed to find anything that stays as well).
i technically leave mascara to my very last step but i'll lump it in here, barry m that's how i roll, literally a like for like dupe for benefit roller lash and it's only a fiver or something iirc
face
ahh, the foundation struggle. it literally took me about 6 years of my "full face of makeup" wearing life to find one that a) matched my skin tone and b) sat right on my skin. and then i found one (missguided's meet your match) and then the brand discontinued their entire makeup range. i'm still squeezing out the last dregs of that bottle but i WILL say at halloween alex gave me a bunch of random makeup she didn't want and among those was the collection lasting perfection matte foundation. it does not match my slightly quirky undertone quite as well as my fallen princess from missguided does, but the wear is fantastic
concealer and powder as above
for contour i use another revolution palette, one of the little trios from their relove range in the shade sugar, not 100% sold on it because it pulls very warm but i've not bothered finding a good cooler toned substitute yet. then if i'm doing a proper night out full face i'll add the revolution summer of love bronzer (mainly just the darker shade) for some shimmer & dimension. please don't ask me about my superdrug points history with the amount of revolution shit i'm buying. i should have stocks in the company
for blush: IF i'm doing a full night out look then before powder i'll throw in the missguided (rip) stop i'm blushing liquid blush. super pigmented, super cute. if not i'll just use the blush from the aforementioned revolution palette which i LOOOOVE because it's got a really strong gold shimmer in it, v unique
highlighter: still on my sleek solstice palette grind always and forever, i use the yellowy shade for my cheeks and the peachy one for browbone/inner corner/etc. i also used to use a couple of the lightest shades from the jaclyn hill morphe palette but i panned those LONG ago
lips: i always start off with the barry m plumping lip gloss. i doubt it actually does anything cosmetically but it's the thought that counts and i do like the feel of the formula (plus i think doing a lip gloss first makes the matte lipstick to follow less. crusty feeling). THEN if it's a big night out i will first line & then fill in my lips with a sephora liquid lipstick, cannot remember the shade number and the sticker's come off but it's like a reddy orangey dark nude. however this step is on hiatus because i LOST MY LIP BRUSH IN THE CLUB ON NYE!!!!!!!!! anyway then if i'm really fancying it i'll throw in a very very old definitely expired fenty beauty lipstick in the shade snake skin :))
ETA: forgot to say - to set i use the revolution sports fix setting spray (i like to do this before applying highlighter & then do that step while my skin is still very slightly damp to give it a little more oomph) and then, because i am a theatre kid, if i know i'm going to be out for ages i use hairspray on top. this is NOT GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN and i am probably experiencing low grade solvent abuse side effects from accidentally inhaling it a couple of times so STRICTLY SPEAKING I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS, but i will say i slept in my makeup after nye and apart from a bit of smudging where i'd been on the snogs the majority of it had not budged. so the efficacy is there even if the health consciousness is not

Headcanon Times— Sfw ones
Swiss will absolutely be a clingy koala when he gets lonely and will wrap himself around other ghouls or his partners when he wants comfort/attention
Phantom makes pillow fortresses with the ghouletts when they update their nest
Mountain grows small flowers when nervous and will absolutely help show younger siblings how to take care of plants with Primo
The ghoulettes absolutely test different makeup looks on the ghouls and make different looks for everyone, including Terzo—
My thoughts under the cut for space reasons
Swiss 100% is clingy. I think his favorite to cling to would be Mountain or Dewdrop because Mountain makes him feel small (which would be appreciated when he wants to feel small) and Dewdrop because Dewdrop is warm in a way that he can handle well (since he’s a multi-ghoul).
I bet he’s the reason they have to rearrange them because he keeps making pillow forts. They all have a little cuddle pile before the rebuild though.
Mountain is a chronic flower grower. I feel like he has different flowers or plants that pop up by his horns when he’s in certain moods, and the ghouls have a coordinated chart to determine his mood. And he’s definitely teaching classes with Primo especially when he’s about to go on tour.
And for the ghoulettes, they all have different people as their favorite test subjects. Cirrus’s favorite is Rain because they have little gossip sessions. Cumulus’s favorite is Mountain because he’s calm and gentle and really likes when Cumulus puts lipstick on herself and kisses him so he’s wearing it. Aurora’s favorite is Phantom or Swiss because they both really like her glittery makeup (eyeshadow, highlighter, sparkly blush, lipgloss, etc.), but Phantom likes the silver, and Swiss likes the gold, so they rotate based on whatever Aurora has. Sunshine likes doing Dewdrop’s because she can do his hair right after too, and then send him to Aether so he can compliment her work (and because she primarily uses warm tones and they look best on Dew). Mist would like doing Terzo’s the most because she gets away from all of the big ghouls, and he’s a very calm guy (compared to the ghouls) and she’s a very calm(ish) ghoulette.

My name's Bree. How can I help you?💉📒
Tumblr media
Shoutout to @hypocriticaltypwriter for the inspiration!
REF/INFO BELOW CUT 💜💜💜
𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Bree
𝐀𝐠𝐞: 25
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: Female She/They
𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 5'8
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: ISFJ
Though very shy around others, Bree has a good head on her shoulders and a kind heart. She values the work she does, making sure to help others as best as she can. Not only does she care about her patients, but she also likes to help out her friends and coworkers. Being useful for a greater good is something truly valuable to her, though it can sometimes get the better of her.
Bree struggles quite a bit with stress. She tries to push herself to a point where burnout is inevitable. All she wants is to be helpful, but it can cause her to feel tired and depressed after the long days of work. She feels guilty about the idea of leaving her field of work, as so many patients count on her care. It makes her feel a bit stuck and frustrated. Her biggest dream in life is to become a writer, becoming the next Bram Stoker or Mary Shelley.
She’s fascinated with romance and monsters, inspired to bring such two complex things together. During her free time, she enjoys writing down short stories that she hopes to get published some day.
Bree is used to blending into the background, not really one to get attention from boys in her teenage years. However, she has blossomed into a beautiful young woman, and others are starting to notice her more. Since she’s not used to such affection and attention, it makes her quite bashful~
𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Bree is often in her work uniform. As a nurse, she wears a light blue work dress with a white collar, cuffs and belt. Outside of work, she prefers to wear more soft and loose clothing. Usually she wears fun sweatshirts and stretchy jeans with converse sneakers. A special accessory she wears every day is her silver key necklace. It has an amethyst gemstone in the center.
Her skin is quite pale, as she has to stay out of the sun, lest she want a nasty sunburn. She’s got a dusting of freckles on her face. Her makeup is plain, often just mascara and chapstick. She can’t do a full face of makeup every day, as it would just end up on her face mask whenever she puts it on.
Bree is more chubby in her features, making her insecure compared to the thin, toned bodies she sees on the Santa Carla boardwalk. However, she’s got several beautiful features and a shapely body. Her hair is flowing and thick with brunette color. She’s got some natural highlights from the rays of the sunshine. She often hides behind her long hair, sometimes too shy to show her face.
𝐉𝐨𝐛: She’s a nurse at Santa Carla Medical Clinic. She works night shifts, as nobody else wants them. Bree is a natural night owl, so it ends up working in her favor. Most of her job is front desk admin work, but she also provides checkups and vaccinations/blood draws when need be.
𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬:
B (Michael, Sam, coworkers)
My dear, Darling, Beautiful, Sweetling (David)
Baby, Babygirl, Little lady (Dwayne)
Mama, Sugar, Pretty girl (Paul)
Bella, Bellisima, Angel (Marko)
Babe, Baby (Michael)
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞?: Bree is in your typical multi-roommate-in-small-apartment setup. She moved out to California with her friends so she could start fresh, and was able to get set up in the basement of the condo they found. Her roommates are usually asleep whenever she’s awake due to their different work hours, which she doesn’t mind. She finds peace in the night time, though she does tend to get lonely.
Though their home doesn’t have a lot of space, Bree has worked hard to make it cozy. It’s not far from the boardwalk, meaning a lot of shops are within walking distance.
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲:
Bree has always been a bit of odd girl. Growing up, she found herself in the school library quite a bit. She was too shy to talk to other kids, and was afraid of bullies that would pick on her for being extra sensitive (not to mention they were quite unkind to her and her chubby features). She would often switch back and forth between romance novels and scary stories, finding equal interest in love and darkness. The two began to blend together, and she became attracted to the monsters that were supposed to frighten her. She found sympathy in these creatures, as she knew what it was like to feel isolated and tormented for simply being different.
A passion for writing her own stories was born, and every chance she got, she would eagerly write down stories of these monsters in her journal. Ones where they would get happy ending rather than tragic downfalls. It fueled her dream of becoming a writer someday, and even when she pursued a career in the medical field, she never forgot her true passion.
She became a bit more confident in herself when she got older, and ended up making close friends. They were very supportive of her work, and were there for her when her mother got sick. When she finished school and got her degree, Bree found out her friends had their sights set on California. The complete opposite side of the country. She was scared of such a massive change, but her family encouraged it, as she would have more opportunities for her writing to get noticed in such an environment. Touched by their support, Bree took the jump and moved cross-country with her friends.
Until she can fulfill her writing dream, she’s working hard as a nurse. Not only does she provide for herself, but for her beloved chocolate labrador as well.
𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡: She’s torn at the moment. On the one hand, she is infatuated with Michael. He’s kind and gentle and very responsible. She admires the dedication he has to his family and appreciates his sweet nature keeping her spirits up. On the other hand, she can’t stop thinking about the mysterious pack of biker boys that she sees in her office now and then. There’s something about them that draws her in. Something dark and mysterious. It’s like a siren’s call, and she’s powerless around them.
(She wouldn’t mind a poly relationship, but she does have somewhat of an extra fondness for Dwayne, given how good he is with Laddie)
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡: Bree was able to use her degree to get set up at local primary care doctor’s office. It was there that she so happened to meet Michael Emerson, a handsome guy who decided to pursue physical therapy as a study once he got his GED. He worked part time in between night school, and Bree was completely smitten whenever they had the same shift. He was so doting and kind. A perfect gentleman who never failed to put a smile on her face. Sometimes his mother and little brother would stop by for a checkup or to simply say hello, and Bree found herself adoring them too.
Michael explained to her at one point that he had a devastating breakup with a runaway girl he met during a past summer. He didn’t like to talk about what led to their breakup, but Bree never forced him to tell more. She was simply happy to be there for him, and she had a feeling that he was starting to open his heart up to her in return.
However, he wasn’t the only man in her life.
During quieter nights, Bree started to get visits from four mysterious, yet very sexy bikers. They would ask for a walk-in appointment. A cut here, a sprain there, usual stuff. Normally, the office didn’t take walk-ins, but she was happy to examine them on her own. She suspected something was off about them when she found that their bodies weren’t exactly….normal. The stethoscope she used never could pick up a heartbeat. The blood sample she collected looked sparkly in the light. The thermometer always said their temperature was far below what it should have been.
She was frightened at first…..but soon became intrigued.
They were all so mysterious and unusual. The four of them watched her with hunger in their eyes. They’d coo sweet nothings to her, offering to take her out for a date or a ride on their motorcycles. Ask her back to their place for a drink. The more she got to know them personally, the more tempted she felt to listen to their call. Bree had the same fascination in the boys as she did with the monsters she read about growing up.
Little does she know that her indecision between Michael and the Lost Boys is more akin to a fight between good and evil~

"The Evolution of Beauty: Kajal for Scar and Spot Concealment in 2104"
In 2095, the world had redefined beauty and technology in ways that Samaira could never have imagined. As a celebrated abstract artist, her life revolved around colors, textures, and emotions. Her work hung in galleries across the globe, each piece revealing something deeply personal. Yet, despite her success, one aspect of her life remained a quiet insecurity: the scar that trailed along her cheek, a reminder of an accident from her youth. While Samaira's paintings spoke of bold expression, her own reflection often felt muted by the mark of her past.
With her first solo exhibition in Paris approaching, Samaira found herself staring at the sleek, silver kajal stick sitting on her vanity. But this wasn’t the kajal of centuries past, meant for highlighting eyes. This futuristic kajal was engineered for something far more personal—concealing scars, spots, and imperfections. A product that merged design with cutting-edge technology, it promised seamless coverage while maintaining a natural finish, crafted for people just like her.
As Samaira picked up the kajal, she felt a sense of curiosity. The applicator’s design was a marvel in itself—minimalist yet futuristic, with biodegradable materials that aligned with the world’s new standard of sustainable luxury. A soft LED light embedded in the applicator gently turned green, indicating that the product had adapted to her skin tone, ready for use. The small device embodied the perfect marriage of form and function, an answer to the future of beauty products.
With one smooth glide, the advanced nanotechnology within the kajal took over, adjusting to the exact texture and shade of her skin. The creamy formula melted into her cheek, covering the scar with precision, its micro-pigments adapting to light and shadows in a way that made her skin look untouched, flawless. No longer just a cosmetic tool, this kajal had become a multi-functional, skin-healing product, enriched with bioengineered vitamins that worked to heal and nourish as it concealed. In seconds, her skin looked like it had never been marked.
Stepping away from the mirror, Samaira felt a newfound confidence wash over her. She wasn’t masking her past—she was enhancing her future. The exhibition was no longer a nerve-wracking event; it was a platform for her to express not only her art but her redefined self. The kajal for scar and spot concealment had given her the power to choose how and when her scar played a role in her story.
In the gallery, surrounded by critics, collectors, and admirers, Samaira stood under the lights, her art glowing as brightly as her presence. Her scar, once a source of vulnerability, had faded into the background. The kajal had done more than provide coverage; it had given her the freedom to be seen for her art and her talent, not her insecurities.
This futuristic kajal had shifted the narrative of beauty. It wasn’t about concealing flaws—it was about empowering people to decide how they wanted to be seen. Its design, enhanced by precision technology, had made it an essential tool for both personal care and artistic expression. From stage actors wanting to alter their appearance with dramatic ease to everyday individuals desiring a perfect blend of cosmetic and skin-enhancing benefits, this kajal had redefined the meaning of multi-functional beauty.
In a world that prioritized both innovation and sustainability, the kajal became a symbol of the new era—one where beauty products didn’t just serve superficial needs but intertwined with health, self-expression, and eco-conscious design. This wasn’t merely makeup; it was a transformative experience, allowing users to enhance their natural features, conceal scars, or simply blend imperfections, all with a product designed to heal and improve skin health over time.
For Samaira, the power of this kajal went beyond its physical capabilities. It offered her the choice to embrace her past or step into the future with confidence, shifting between the two with a single stroke. The future of beauty had arrived—not in heavy foundations or dramatic overhauls, but in products that allowed subtle, seamless transformations that spoke to both the personal and the practical.
As she walked through her exhibit, receiving compliments and smiles from patrons, Samaira knew that her scar wasn’t erased—it was simply no longer the defining feature of her narrative. The scar and spot concealment kajal had done more than blend into her skin; it had woven itself into the very fabric of her evolving identity, a reflection of the world’s increasing focus on design, technology, and self-empowerment.
This was the future—where beauty was about choice, confidence, and innovation. And Samaira, in that moment, felt truly at home in it.

Hi guys,
We all know I love luxury beauty but there are some drugstore brands out there that are killing the game! Maybelline has been one of my favourite drugstore brands for (literally) years now. I think I started wearing their makeup when I was 16/17 and I’m now 30! So today I thought I would share with you my 3 favourite face base products from the brand.
First off we are starting with my favourite product that is a combo of skincare and makeup, it's the Maybelline Super Stay up to 24H Skin Tint Foundation + Vitamin C, £12.99. If you like a natural, glowy looking foundation rather than a full coverage formula then this is your new best friend. Made with Vitamin C to brighten and treat your skin while you're wearing it , this foundation gives you a natural, weightless finish. I love wearing this tint on days when my skin doesn't need a lot of coverage and this formula is buildable so some days you can wear it natural and other days build up for a medium finish.
Next up we have the glow in a bottle, it's the Maybelline Instant Anti Age Perfector 4-In-1 Glow Primer, Concealer, Highlighter, £12.99. This is Maybelline's multi-use product, not only does it add glow to your complexion but it can be used as a primes, conceals, highlights, and evens skin tone. I love using when alternatively to my Hollywood Flawless Filter, sometimes I'll use under my eyes before foundation to brighten or all over my face to add coverage / prime. I haven't used it as a foundation yet but I've seen some people using it as their foundation which if you had dry skin I think could wear really well.
Lastly, if a glowy face base isn't your thing or you want more of a fuller coverage I think you'll prefer the Maybelline Superstay 30hr Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid 30ml, £10.99. Unlike the previous 2 products this foundation is our matte option for those oily combo people out there. Personally I love this formula because yes it is a full coverage, matte finish but it's made with hyaluronic acid so it's protecting your skin while being worn. Though I love a lot of matte formulas I personally use this one the most because it is also transfer-resistant, water-resistant and sweat-resistant so if you have a problem with your makeup moving, your safe!
So there we go, you don't need to spend lot's of money to get great products and if you're shopping for drugstore makeup I really recommend checking out Maybelline because their newer products are amazing!!! As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love,
Bella x x

The Science Behind K-Beauty Products: A Deep Dive into Skincare Technology
When we think of Korean beauty, it's easy to get lost in the aesthetic appeal, the rituals, and the vast array of products. But what's truly fascinating about K-beauty is the intricate science underpinning it. In this journey, we'll delve deep into the scientific innovations of K-beauty, supported by trusted references, while highlighting some of the best products offered by Aigoo.
Rooted in Tradition
At the foundation of Korean skincare lies a deep respect for nature and its healing properties. For centuries, natural ingredients such as green tea, ginseng, and rice have been pivotal in skincare. These are not just folklore remedies but are backed by modern scientific studies, revealing their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties.
Innovative Formulations and Techniques
The magic of K-beauty is its ability to marry age-old wisdom with state-of-the-art technology. For instance, fermentation, an ancient Korean technique, is widely used to break down ingredients into smaller molecules for better absorption. Brands in the industry, like those featured on Aigoo, employ advanced methods to enhance the benefits of traditional ingredients.
Targeted Solutions for Every Skin Concern
One of the reasons K-beauty has won hearts worldwide is its tailored approach. Every skin type and concern, from acne-prone to hyperpigmentation, has a specific solution. This isn't a coincidence but the result of extensive research. Scientific studies back ingredients like snail mucin for repair or centella asiatica for soothing irritated skin.
Skin First, Makeup Second
The K-beauty philosophy revolves around treating the skin as a canvas. This means prioritizing skincare to achieve a healthy base before makeup application. The ethos is grounded in understanding the skin's anatomy and physiology. Hydration, for instance, is crucial because well-hydrated skin functions optimally, leading to fewer issues and a radiant complexion. Dive into Aigoo's moisturisers collection to explore hydration options tailored for various skin types.
Safety and Efficacy
K-beauty products undergo stringent testing standards. Brands are committed to ensuring products are both safe and effective, underpinned by rigorous scientific research. This emphasis on credibility and trust is echoed by Aigoo, which curates only the best, science-backed products for its audience.
The Power of Layering
K-beauty is renowned for its multi-step routines, and there's a science behind it. Each product is formulated to serve a unique purpose, and when applied in a specific sequence, the skin can absorb the maximum benefits from each layer. From essences that prepare the skin to ampoules that deliver concentrated ingredients, there's a method to the layering madness. To get a sense of this meticulous process, one can explore the range of products at Aigoo.
Conclusion: A Symphony of Tradition and Technology
The global admiration for K-beauty is not just about trends or elaborate routines. It's an appreciation for a skincare culture that seamlessly blends centuries-old traditions with advanced scientific research. At the heart of K-beauty lies a dedication to understanding the skin and its needs deeply. As skincare enthusiasts, we at Aigoo invite you to dive into this world where nature, tradition, and science harmoniously converge, offering transformative experiences for your skin.

Back to this. I got sidetracked jumping around the spreadsheet and adding some random stuff, but hopefully I should hit the first Renee appearances tomorrow. I also have to track down a version of Death in the Family that has the foreword - it's by Tot and mentions Vic, and was mentioned in the letter column for 28, so it should fit somewhere in this chunk of issues on the spreadsheet.
Question #18
Here he is! I love Ollie and Vic's dynamic. They are so fascinating and so annoying.
You know you've fucked up when Ollie's calling you a dumbass.
I like how much breathing room this issue has. They get a lot of space to talk and highlight each other, which is a great foundation for the later GA crossovers.
Of the unsubtle 80s anti-gun GA stuff I've read (which isn't a lot but it's more than 0) this is one of the less interesting bits. At least it's short.
The panel composition on this issue is really well done. Making two guys talking in a truck into a pair of pages that make me pause to take them in is impressive.
#19
Vic choosing to get the doll fixed is a really strong moment.
Overall, the way Augie is treated is surprisingly good? It's definitely played for creepiness at first, but he's just a guy living a surprisingly decent life for Hub City, Vic tries to actually help him and doesn't judge him for being delusional, and he ends up totally fine.
The parallel between Vic's mask and Myra's makeup, and her choice to discard it, is just. Waugh. She's just as dedicated to trying to figure out the right thing as he is, but she's not hiding any of it!
Myra kissing Maurice is still a very weird moment.
Detective Comics - Fables part 1
Spectacularly terrible opening, 0/10.
It's so weird to see the Penguin after this long of a stretch without supervillains. Yeah Talia shows up first but she's way less gimmicky and the page is pretty calm. He's here in full force with the monocle and bird jokes.
Shiva <333
I don't believe for a fucking second that asking Vic is the best way Shiva can think of to find Batman. I really like it, don't get me wrong. Vic's hacker exposition about making a post on the internet is hilarious, calling Batman Pointy-Ears is hilarious, "Matins" is such a Catholicism Moment, it's good stuff. I just think this is way less likely to work than going to Gotham and punching cops until Batman shows up.
Oh my god this is such a stupid villain plot. What do you mean it doesn't affect people with high testosterone. What do you mean Bruce already knows what it is. Why does Ra's have that. Why would that be the effect you choose for this story.
I'm sure this Bruce and Talia plot is better when read in context but it's still some excellent drama. Love them.
...gender?
Green Arrow - Fables part 2
The overarching plot of Fables isn't good, the O-Sensei is a boring Orientalist stereotype, but all of the subplots are very strong examples of why I care about each series. Scrap the whole O-Sensei thing in the first two issues and just have it be Shiva picking fights and finding people to help someone she knows and it'd be better.
Dinahollie <3
I love getting to see Shiva doing her thing. She's so chill, it's fun to see her in her element :)
Dinahshiva <3
Shiva loves to put some weird little freak in a situation and see if it makes them better or worse, and it sucks she doesn't get to do that anymore.
Question - Fables part 3
All of these issues have great looks for Shiva. Style icon.
Hey, Vic's terrible secret identity came back to bite him!
"Van der Waal's equation" isn't complete technobabble - the Van der Waal's force is a decent explanation for a multi-use adhesive, at least by comic book standards, and would explain why the mask never seems "sticky" and why the chemistry on getting it to stay is so finicky.
It's interesting that Vic doesn't even try to get Shiva to not kill people. He might be self-sacrificing, but he's not that dumb.
Oh my god Bruce you are such a dramatic bitch.
I kinda see what they were going for with the O-Sensei here, at least. Still think it'd be better if he wasn't a ridiculous legendary fighter.
Drowning motif! Shiva's perspective is so interesting - she's able to do anything she puts the effort into, and she expects that to be true of everyone else.
#20
The cover layout is unique this issue, which is a neat touch.
I always like that characters get to say stuff that's sort of dumb. Vic no-selling Myra's joke about boomerang rocks is a nice reminder that they do really like and feel comfortable around each other, even when things are rough.
Honestly not a ton to say about this issue. It makes its point well, I like it.
In the letter pages: the return of Hair Discourse.
#21
This plotline's back!
He just like me fr (misreading signals on a date, resisting the urge to deck his high school classmates)
Seriously though, it's nice to get a look into Vic's very normal problems. Not everything wrong with him is related to being the Question.
This is one of my favourite single issues. I can't quite put words on why - everything about it just works, and there's nothing about it that I want to pick at.
#22
Election Day is the best arc in the run.
The opening spread is full of excellent expressions - Wesley's really lean into the more distorted and exaggerated end of Cowan's art, while Myra's are all subtle, exhausted frustration. I appreciate that she's consistently drawn with sunken cheeks and eye bags.
Maurice getting to be serious is a strong moment. He's been a good source of banter for Myra before this, so having him get invested and take the consequences seriously is a good way to ground the stakes, and to give Myra someone who's genuinely on her side without having to rely on Vic.
It's interesting that Shiva pays close enough attention to what Vic's up to on a regular basis that she'd know who to send. Even when she's not around, she still gets to drive the story.
#23
This issue got me the first time I read it. The history flashback is a weird choice, but it sets the tone perfectly, and the time constantly being shown is a throwback to the first issue that makes it feel super tense. So much of the series has long time skips, waiting to heal or get phone calls or for anything to happen, but now every minute counts. The news reports punctuating it work so well.
Vic dropping everything when he reads Tot's name is so...
Myra goes off, and she damn well deserves it. The difference in how her expressions feel between this and the opening of #22 is a testament to Cowan's work.
The quoting of a line from five pages ago is maybe a little unnecessary. These panels would stand perfectly well on their own.
#24
It's hard to make a deus ex machina feel "earned", but if anything does, it's this.
Kind of a dumb thing but who tells this story with a beaver? I'm not losing it, right, it's the Scorpion and the Frog?
The historical flashback turning out in Myra's favor is a fantastic bit of subversion. When I first read this, I was certain that Wesley was going to shoot Myra during the blackout, and Dinsmore dying and Myra talking about how bad winning felt made me lower my guard and think he might kill himself publicly instead. Funny how that works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't catch what he meant until the next issue on my first read (in my defence, I'm not American) but wow Wesley's not subtle about his assassination plans to anyone. I mean, I caught that much, but he's really not subtle.
Myra and Vic's relationship makes me want to explode. I just want them to be happy together! Aaaaa!
#25
Everything happens so much. The pace just does not let up.
Vic falls into bad habits, again, but he does a better job staying focused and not letting the anger take over - it's good development.
Wesley's death is everything the shitty racist cop issue fails to be. He's a sad, awful little man with a broken moral compass and a lot of enablers, and he dies refusing to recognize it.
The letters column: a woman wrote in a while back about how male comic fans are creeps and Vic still has some personal growth to do when it comes to being less sexist, and some men are being freaks about it. These fuckers haven't changed in thirty years.
#26
If I ignore the part of my brain that hates this as a Riddler story and pretend he's an OC, it's a fine breather issue. Unfortunately I am bad at doing that.
Some very caricature-y guest art this issue. It's a neat look in some panels, and sometimes it's more subtle, but a lot of it is scrungled enough that I can't take what's happening seriously.
Tumblr media
this is Vic and Tot in the car, to me
Love that Tot takes stopping Vic from self-destructing into his own hands, and that Vic bitches but doesn't do anything stupid to try and stop him.
The idea of Vic chewing out the Riddler with more difficult questions is an interesting idea, but I don't love the effect of him monologuing about a bunch of pretty standard ~deep~ questions and well known koans, and the Riddler just going "yeah i'm afraid of those" is dumb.
I dunno - it feels like a bit of a waste for the one time Vic faces an established villain to be so meh. I like Sphinx, at least, and the reappearance of the drowning motif is cool.
#27
The weirdest issue, I think.
I really like all the Vic sections, and I'm not opposed to meta shit, but this is pretty jarring. Tot's weird cousin and his racist magic is not helping the tone of the Ditko callback.
I like that Tot has a weird cousin who was a bad comic artist. He has connections outside of Vic, they're just also weird as hell.
The Ditko callback is great. "You gotta pull me up." "Why?", and then the slow drop before Vic grabs him? Mwah. Perfect. I'm a sucker for this shit. Even when he's falling into bad habits, he's still a better person than he used to be!
#28
Shiva :)
Vic responding to Tot telling him not to lie to himself by suddenly gaining sunglasses kills the mood a bit, but it's also very good. What is wrong with him.
Myra wakes up from a coma, ditches the hospital, and immediately makes a very risky plan. Good for her.
Everyone's in top form this issue, it's great.

rating my tiktok budol finds (sorry sa quality ng photo (ಥ﹏ಥ)
funsace contour palette (8/10) - nabili ko lang siya for only 80pesos. i only like the two highlighters pero yung contour di bagay sakin.
pinkflash ohmylove multiple eyeshadow, shade 02 (10/10) - maganda yung pigment niya. i like the shimmer shades. di ko lang masyado magamit palagi kasi more on pink shades siya so di siya pwede for simple look. plus, this palette has highlighter, 2 shades of blush and also a contour. the price of this palette is 209 but i bought for only 50php. what a great steal!
funsace blush palette (9/10) - my most used powder blush. same price lang sa contour palette. di na ako bumibili ng ibang powder blush dahil dito pa lang, okay na ako. long lasting din siya.
otwoo lenghtening (8/10) and volumizing mascara (9/10) - perfect dupe for maybelline skyhigh. waterproof and smudgeproof silang dalawa. i just don't like the lenghtening kasi para siyang dry and a little bit clumpy. pero promise, if you use both of this otwoo mascara, you'll get a long lashes effect (huy, hindi yung bonggang haba ha)
otwoo blush shade 06 (nasa middle ng mascaras) (100/10) - the only cream blush that i love. ang ganda niya kahit oily ako. the only pink shade that suits my skin. hindi siya yung pakak na pink, parang kinilig ka lang.
maybelline fit me concealer (25) and skintint (05) (utang ng pilipinas/10) - if wala ka pa nitong skintint, bilhin mo na. it has a light-medium coverage and may spf na din. ginagawa ko siyang sunscreen. sa concealer naman, maganda siya for dark circles.
squad cosmetic melon mist (7.5/10) - idk, sabi ng mga nakatry nito it does hold the makeup kahit oily skin pero when i tried it, nahulas agad ako wala pang 2hrs. it's moisturizing naman, but i don't recommend using this after applying makeup kasi matatanggal siya. and what i don't like about it this mist, wala siyang expiration date na nakalagay.
gorgeous glow my pink serum (7.5/10), kjm cosmetics liptint (9/10) - if you're always on tiktok, you'll know this serum was a trend. ayoko sa dark lips ko and i have seen many reviews about this serum na nakakalighten daw talaga siya ng lips. i bought it when it was on sale and bi, habang tumatagal lalong nagddry yung lips ko. the shade was too pink din. and i don't find this moisturizing. the kjm liptint naman was a hype back then esp. the shade bittersweet magenta. sobrang ganda naman talaga ng shade and perfect for everyday use pero di siya nagsstay sa middle ng lips ko. parang if i put my lips together to spread the tint, natatanggal siya so i have to reapply then patutuyuin ko siya the apply ulit. di din siya long lasting. pero the shade, binabalik balikan talaga.
careline brow pencil shadebrunette (buhok ko/10) - this is indeed my holy grail when it comes to brows! alam ko madaming magagandang eyebrow product out there pero iba pa din talaga ang careline best brow. ang natural niyang tignan and buildable din. iykyk
focallure airy matte tint shade 202 (9.5/10) - perfect na sana kung di lang mapait yung lasa niya. long lasting siya, not gonna lie and the perfect 202 is my mlbb. it is powdert finish pero di yung powdery na uncomfortable. sana mabago nila yung taste ng tint lol
blk blush shade daffodil (8/10) - di bagay sakin yung shade pero if maputi ka, then you should try this. the applictor is doe foot and it is multi-use. kaso ang downside lang sa kanya ay messy yung packaging so if dadalhin mo siya dapat nakatayo. a little goes a long way sa product na 'to, dapat marunong ka magcontrol or else magmumukha kang sassa girl
