Any thoughts on the hobonichi this year, of what we have seen so far? Or 2025 plans. I don't know why we think about it so early, but here we are.

i actually got the opportunity to attend the hobonichi preview party at yoseka stationery fest, there’s lots of cute bits this year (some seen and some still unseen!)

i’m leaning towards wanting to try a6 again at the moment as a result 🥲 i have a book from the beginning of the year so i might set it up and see how i feel. i keep catching myself thinking the year is wrapping up/almost over, but it isn’t really. the mid year planner talks/reveals always have me so disoriented

here goes another week! over the weekend I went to the library and picked up far more books than I'll be able to read in three weeks (including four books not pictured lmao), but I'm going to give it a try! I usually just checkout ebooks so it was very nice to go and browse in person :)

work has been alright, I'm in between big projects at the moment and I'm just working on fixing bugs and making small improvements. professional programming work can be very fun and exciting but sometimes it's just unglamorous lol

Honestly I'm gonna stay away from comparing them because I am too old for ship wars. Also I actually do like Jess as a character a lot. I enjoy his friendship with Rory too, especially as they grow up. I think he becomes a better friend to her and I'm glad he showed up to knock some sense into her about Yale. I don't think anyone else would've gotten through to her in that moment. Logan quite literally couldn't because a) he hasn't known her for nearly as long so even if he understood that she was making the wrong choice - "you love school" is one of my favorite Logan lines, he takes her so seriously even when it's things he personally cares nothing about, like school - and b) Logan is used to doing what people want him to do. Rory playing the role of the DAR darling is the equivalent of him going on business trips out of state with his dad: what they were 'born' to do. But he doesn't really like it. We see how uncomfortable he is with it - he just doesn't know what to say. Jess knows Rory well enough to call her out on her shit when she really really needed it.

I liked Rory and Logan as a couple right away, I enjoy their chemistry and the fact that they have things in common and also different interests and personalities and upbringings. I like that Logan challenges Rory and that she surprises him. I like that he's willing to try new things with her and I like that he gets her to step outside of her comfort zone. Even when it goes badly, like their open relationship, it forces Rory to step up a bit. She's better at communicating with Logan than she has been in her relationships in the past because of it. I like that they're really, sincerely friends. They prank each other and he keeps up with her banter.

I also love the Rory is Luke and Logan is Lorelai comparison, it really rings true to me. Rory and Luke are the characters described as hermits and Logan and Lorelai have a lot in common, including things Lorelai criticizes Logan for. (After all, Lorelai gets the wedding planner fired in the same season that Logan gets the maid fired in.) I enjoy that dynamic of bright, cheerful characters and more shy, reserved characters together. Despite all of my quibbles with season 7, I do think they got it right that Lorelai is someone Logan would look up to and hope to emulate.

Today was pretty horrible. Argued with my dentist over an appointment I requested to cancel on Thursday, which she charged me the cancellation fee for anyway because she closes at 1 on Thursday, is off on Fridays, and I requested the cancel at 1:30 on Thursday so it wasn't within 48 business hours. In the hour I was arguing with her I missed a therapy appointment and didn't realize it until four hours later. Then I realize that while I was arguing with the dentist I also forgot to refill the cat's feeder and she went without food for half the day.

Fuck that dentist. (And daylight savings)

It just occured to me that I'll be getting my very own permanent desk when I switch jobs in april so.

I just put a bunch of stuff in there but honestly half of it I probs shouldn't do simply because I am young and need to appear way professional since this is a supervisor position. so any fandom stuff is def out (so no figurines :/)

Spending the day across the state to co-facilitate a training, attend a remote family session, and have individual supervision for my internship. only three weeks until the end of the semester, but it's going to be a rough stretch

Can't go into detail because its hush hush not-legally-mentionable stuff but today is my fifth 12 hour no-break work day. I'm also packing to move too in a fortnight (which is a Big Yahoo!! Yippee!! I'll finally have access to a kitchen!! And no more mold others keep growing!!! So exciting!!!)
