“Smart Cars” + Capitalism = a very dystopian future
Ford’s patent ranges from having a “self driving” car return itself to the dealership if you miss a payment, to having the car abruptly disable itself, to “minor inconveniences” like having the air conditioner or heater stop working until you voluntarily return the car.
Don’t think for one second that all carmakers aren’t thinking about doing the same things. Especially Tesla Motors.
Carmakers are already trying to monetize even the most basic features, like charging monthly fees for the ability to use your car’s seat warmers.

Anyway, nobody does more to radicalize people against capitalism more than greedy capitalists.

If you drive a Ford SUV, it could be part of a major recall in Canada. The auto manufacturer stated in an email that it has recalled 2,950 vehicles due to gas leaks that may cause fires. Affected Ford SUVs include the 2022 to 2023 Bronco Sport and the 2022 Escape with a 1.5L engine. "Ford's Internal Combustion Engines Propulsion Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) team had identified leaks during component-level injector flow testing on fuel injectors recovered from two Bronco Sport vehicles that had experienced underhood fires," reads the company's recall notice.

"CALLING ALL GRUNGE FANS
KRIST NOVOSELIC'S BONA FIDE BAND with MARK PICKEREL & THE PEYOTE 3
Krist Novoselić, the renowned bassist of Nirvana and current member of 3rd Secret, has launched an electrifying musical project called The Bona Fide Band. This ensemble features a stellar lineup, including his longtime friend and former collaborator Mark Pickerel (Screaming Trees, Truly, Brandi Carlile), the versatile Kathy Moore (Brad, Star Anna), and the two talented vocalists from 3rd Secret, Jillian Weiss and Jennifer Johnson.
This exciting project began in April 2024 with an impromptu jam session between Novoselić and Pickerel. The duo quickly realized their chemistry and started thinking about a side project to keep Jillian and Jennifer engaged musically while their drummer, Matt Cameron, was on tour with Pearl Jam. Pickerel suggested Kathy Moore, a highly respected figure in the Seattle music scene known for her collaborations with Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Thunderpussy, Satchel, and Smokey Brights, for the guitarist role. The lineup was finalized, and the band started working on creating a unique setlist. Fans can expect an innovative blend of grunge, rock, and heartfelt vocals that honor the band's musical roots and showcase each member's unique talents.
“We’re exploring new territory while honoring the sounds that defined us,” says Novoselić. “This collaboration is about pushing boundaries and celebrating our shared history."
OPENER | MARK PICKEREL & THE PEYOTE 3
Drummer, guitarist, and singer Mark Pickerel has quite the back story!
Prior to becoming a leading voice in the PNW’s alt-country, blues and Americana music scene, he was the drummer in seminal grunge fave, The Screaming Trees. He has played on albums by Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile, and Nirvana; toured with Neko Case and contributed to her track on the “Hard-Headed Woman: A Celebration of Wanda Jackson compilation."
Mark has since stepped out as the front-man for various groups including Mark Pickerel and His Praying Hands, and now The Peyote 3.

🇺🇲 The last Edsel, a station wagon, rolled off the Louisville assembly line on November 19, 1959. The story of the 1960 Edsel is brief but poignant. Production began on September 14, 1959, at the Ford Louisville plant, the only remaining Edsel manufacturing facility, and just over a month later, on October 15, the cars were introduced to the public. However, by November 19, production had ceased, with only 2,846 vehicles assembled.
📅 The final Edsel to be built, known as Job Number 344, was a tan station wagon. For the assembly crew, it was just another day at work. The engine gave a slight cough as it started, and in two minutes, the last Edsel rolled off the line and into history.
🔚 It's clear that by the time the 1960 models were introduced, the Edsel was already a lost cause for the Ford Motor Company. Despite its short production run, the Edsel has left a lasting legacy as one of the most memorable names in automotive history.
