The Doctor isn’t a Time Lords and is actually (insert random thing that will be retconned under the next show runner)

The loveable new character is actually the Master

The Doctor was secretly competent the whole time, the normal silly goofy attitude was a trick!!

The dalek cyberman roast battle in 'doomsday' is so iconic. Watching it now and just seeing the daleks tear the shit out of the cyberman like damn you went there

Oh yay, i have thoughts!!

So im one of those fake dw fans who hasnt seen torchwood (I’m getting there i SWEAR) so i cant work off of context as much as someone who has.

HOWEVER!!! The idea that the doctor is some kind of omnipotent god has already been discussed - may i point you to the timelord victorious arc?

Its an entire thing that the doctor cant be everywhere at once, and especially that, even if he does manage to arrive and save MOST people, he cant save everyone. Hes honestly just a human with alien insides/mechanisms and a fancy machine that doesnt even listen to him half the time. And he has to LEARN these things with us.

But most importantly, and i repeat - he cant be everywhere at once. Thats why they need torchwood in the first place. When the doctor cant be there, someone else can take his place for a while.

I might have more to say but i dont know how to form my words and its 8:15 am and im tired but thats the gist of it!!

Watching Torchwood sometimes makes me feel pissed off at the Doctor. Like, what do you mean he's palling around with Van Gogh and Agatha Christie instead of shutting down the cannibalistic murder village? Can he not send the Children of Earth alien drug addicts away with his Sonic Screwdriver? I'm not buying that crap about him being 'ashamed' by human actions, he's literally a borderline god who's sworn to 'protect' this planet so Torchwood shouldn't even have to exist in the first place. Yet, despite repeatedly being let down, Captain Jack Harkness still trusts the Doctor, he is a much better person than me. If I was Jack, and I knew that the most helpful being in existence simply didn't care about the less high-profile atrocities, that Time Lord would be getting a punch in the face.

Sorry I zoned out, I was thinking about how the Tardis is actually a living sentient creature, not just a machine. And the inherent closeness of the relationship between a man and the being he lives inside, the being who has been beside him through it all. The being who is believed to ALSO be the last of her race. They have nothing and they have everything. They have each other, but not in a way that anyone else can understand. She is his as much as he is hers. They are one but separate. But what is the doctor without his tardis? And what is the tardis without her doctor? They are linked, they are one and the same, but so so different.

I made a post before kinda talking about how I'm not really that much into doctor who anymore but I do still have merch from when I was. Figured I would show pictures of what I have, if y'all are interested. It's not an impressive collection but keep in mind I got these as gifts when I was a preteen, because you could not shut up 13 year old me about DW 😅

11th doctor sonic screw driver. I vividly remember getting this because it was from a store called Forbidden Planet and my eyes felt like they were going to pop out of my head because it was the first time 13 year old me had ever step foot in a "geeky" store.

Tardis book light (it had a clip that you put on top of the book) I got from a relative's ex years ago.

2014 calendar with peter capaldi's doctor on it. I think it's still somewhere in my closet but I legit can't find it.

(had to dig this one out of the back of the closet. Day of the Doctor poster. The top part is supposed to show all the main actors names but I couldn't get the poster to stay still, it kept rolling up lol)

Books! And an audio episode, classic doctor who 5th doctor era. I don't think I ever managed to listen to this for some reason. I think it's because for a while I didn't have a dvd player lol.

Also, that character encyclopedia is from around the 11th doctor era hence why he's on the cover. But it has pages in full color about monsters and creatures that have showed up both in classic doctor who and modern doctor who up until 11th doctor era.
