Is anyone else experiencing mobile ads that are unmuted & start playing audio as soon as they come on your feed?
I keep hitting the mute button, but each ad I get still shows as unmuted & starts playing whatever music/audio it has in it. I'm almost positive I remember being able to mute one ad, then all other ads that pop up on my feed were muted, too. That no longer seems to be the case.
I wonder if this is a glitch or intentional. Somehow I have the feeling it's the latter, and if that's the case, that's scummy.
I'm less concerned about the minor inconvenience of having to lower/raise my volume whenever I want to watch a video then reminding myself to lower my volume again so I don't get jump scared by an ad later, & more concerned that it is an ad that is automatically unmuted & starts playing whenever it shows up on my feed.
I should have the option to keep my Tumblr browsing experience silent without having to lower my phone's volume all the way down. If I want to hear something play on my feed, I should have to unmute it myself vs. having it be unmuted for me unexpectedly.
Come to think of it, I feel like since I've started experiencing this issue, I've noticed more ads on my feed. Maybe I'm noticing them more bc now they have audio and catch my attention more often, or it could also be that they've just added more ads recently in addition to making all ads play sound whether you muted the previous ad or not.

DAMMIT what’s the line between:
‘bad publicity is still publicity’ and posting screenshots abt the tumblr shop tab moving to our blog spots
VS
I don’t want to stay silent on this topic and I know that just one formal complaint won’t do much if we aren’t all angry at the Instagram/Tik-Tok-ification that’s happening rn
#tiktokification as in I’ve been seeing posts abt images not being easy to zoom into anymore??? + the ads take up the ENTIRE screen on mobile#tumblr#tumblr updates#mypost#tumblr shop#ughhhhhhh#enshittification#enshittification of socials or whatever#i want to know why tumblr is doing this but I also don’t#cause I don’t want to hear bs black-and-white arguments about ‘no media should make money ever’ and tumblr is not a small local Etsy gal#or whatever#they have to make money someway#smth smth ‘if ur not paying for the product u are the product’#but I also don’t want to know abt the deets bc that means tumblr has fucked up enough that I’m mad enough to do so and so looking at#the Truth About Marketing for tumblr or whatever is SO ANNOYING#UGHH TUMBLR#idk if any of this is coherent bc I have absolutely horrible short term memory and by the time I’m halfway thru writing a tag I can’t see#what my previous sentences were (I’m on mobile) and so I loose my train of thought lol#anyways I think the gist is: this fucking sucks. people are going to be annoyingly us-vs-them/black-n-white when arguing about this cause#arguing is easier than doing the research and discovering greyer areas#AND: we’ve gotten to the point of rage/un satisfaction with the steps this app is taking that a push towards researched-back arguments may b#the only way forward to have actual change… :|#like again this could end up mostly having been for publicity for the store cause ofc ppl will complain and post screenshots and then more#ppl will see like ‘ooh fun stickers guess I’ll get those!’ and Marketing Tumblr or whatever will know that ‘oh if we disrupt them in these#ways we will get more attention from this fickle consumer base’#idk if we’re even that fickle lol there’s a lot of self-praise on tumblr lately (b4 the shop moving) that probably has swayed marketing#folks to push this thing we don’t like cause they think we’ll get outraged or say it’s better than other sites and either way it’s publicity

The Evolving Landscape of SEO: A Year of Transformations in Google's Algorithms and Beyond
Introduction: As a seasoned SEO professional, I have closely observed the dynamic nature of search engine optimization and the ever-changing algorithms employed by Google. Over the past year, the SEO industry has witnessed significant transformations that have reshaped the way websites design services are ranked, the appearance of search engine results pages (SERPs), the prominence of local SEO, and the integration of AI in SEO strategies. In this article, I will outline the top 10 changes in SEO and Google, highlighting the key insights and trends that have emerged during this transformative period.
Algorithm Updates:
Google's algorithm updates have always been a focal point for SEO professionals, and the past year has been no exception. From the introduction of Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor to the continuous refinement of algorithms like BERT and RankBrain, Google has been on a mission to provide users with more relevant and high-quality search results.
SERP Enhancements:
Google has been constantly refining the appearance of its SERPs to enhance user experience and provide more contextually relevant information. Features like featured snippets, knowledge panels, and local packs have become more prominent, leading to a shift in SEO strategies towards optimizing for these rich results.
Rise of Zero-Click Searches:
With the growing prevalence of featured snippets and rich results, there has been an increase in zero-click searches, where users find the information they need directly on the SERP without clicking through to a specific website. This trend has necessitated a shift in SEO focus towards optimizing content for visibility in featured snippets to maintain organic traffic.
Mobile-First Indexing:
Google's mobile-first indexing initiative reached a significant milestone over the past year, with mobile versions of websites websites design services becoming the primary basis for indexing and ranking. This shift has emphasized the importance of mobile optimization, responsive design, and fast-loading pages in SEO strategies.
Core Web Vitals:
Google's introduction of Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor has underscored the significance of user experience metrics like page speed, interactivity, and visual stability. SEO professionals are now paying closer attention to factors that directly impact the user's website experience, emphasizing the need for optimizing performance and enhancing overall website usability.
Local SEO Dominance:
The past year has seen a further rise in the importance of local SEO, driven by increased user reliance on local search for finding products and services. Google My Business (GMB) optimization, local citations, and the prominence of map packs have become critical elements in local SEO strategies, providing businesses with an opportunity to target specific geographical areas.
E-A-T and Content Quality:
Google's focus on expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-A-T) has continued to shape SEO practices, with an emphasis on producing high-quality, authoritative content. Websites that demonstrate expertise and provide trustworthy information are more likely to rank higher in search results, making E-A-T an essential consideration in content creation and optimization.
Voice Search and AI:
The integration of AI-powered voice assistants, like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, has had a profound impact on SEO. Optimizing for voice search and conversational queries has become crucial, as search engines strive to understand natural language patterns. SEO professionals are now adapting their strategies to align with the nuances of voice-based search and provide users with concise, contextually relevant answers.
User Intent Optimization:
Understanding and fulfilling user intent has become a fundamental aspect of SEO. Google's algorithms are becoming increasingly adept at deciphering user intent, and websites that align their content to match user expectations are rewarded with higher rankings. SEO professionals now focus on creating content that satisfies specific user queries and intents, driving more targeted organic traffic.
Machine Learning and RankBrain:
Google's RankBrain algorithm, which utilizes machine learning to process search queries and improve search results, has continued to evolve. SEO professionals are now harnessing the power of machine learning to gain insights, identify patterns, and refine their strategies. Advanced SEO tools and techniques powered by AI are becoming indispensable for effective keyword research, competitor analysis, and overall SEO performance.
Conclusion: The past year has been transformative for SEO, with Google's algorithm updates, changes in SERP appearance, the rise of local SEO, the integration of AI, and the evolving understanding of user intent. To stay ahead in this ever-evolving landscape, SEO professionals must continually adapt their strategies, optimize for mobile and user experience, prioritize local search, and leverage AI-powered tools. By embracing these changes and keeping a keen eye on emerging trends, SEO practitioners can thrive in the dynamic world of search engine optimization.

Tumblr media
The global Healthcare Mobility Solutions Market Revenue is anticipated to witness significant growth in the coming years, driven by the expanding adoption of mobile-based technologies and innovative healthcare applications across sectors. The trend toward digital healthcare solutions enables enhanced patient engagement, seamless data access, and improved care coordination, further fueling the market’s momentum. According to a new report by SNS Insider, healthcare providers, patients, and healthcare institutions increasingly recognize the benefits of mobility solutions, making this a pivotal market for growth and innovation in healthcare.

Key Market Drivers and Opportunities
The growth in the healthcare mobility solutions market is driven by an increase in chronic diseases, aging populations, and the need for efficient healthcare delivery mechanisms. The report identifies three primary areas accelerating market expansion:
Telemedicine and Remote Patient Monitoring: Telemedicine and RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) solutions are becoming indispensable in managing chronic illnesses and reducing hospital readmissions. By leveraging wearable devices and mobile health applications, healthcare providers can monitor patient health in real time, even outside clinical settings. This not only enhances patient autonomy but also helps healthcare professionals respond proactively to health emergencies.
Enhanced Patient Engagement: Mobile health applications are instrumental in promoting patient engagement. Digital tools, such as appointment scheduling apps, medication reminders, and health tracking, empower patients to take a proactive approach to their health. This increased involvement not only leads to better adherence to treatment regimens but also improves overall health outcomes.
Data Integration and Interoperability: As mobility solutions evolve, so do the capabilities for integrating and exchanging healthcare data seamlessly. Interoperable platforms facilitate secure sharing of electronic health records (EHRs), enhancing care coordination between providers and improving decision-making. Data-driven insights also allow healthcare institutions to monitor population health trends and improve service delivery.
Challenges and Future Outlook
While healthcare mobility solutions bring immense potential, several challenges remain. Data security, privacy concerns, and regulatory compliance are critical obstacles that healthcare providers must address. Ensuring patient confidentiality while leveraging digital health solutions is paramount, especially as cyber threats become more sophisticated. Moreover, balancing accessibility with user-friendliness remains a priority to ensure that mobile health solutions cater to diverse patient demographics, including those with limited technical proficiency.
Moving forward, the healthcare mobility solutions market is expected to expand its reach through strategic partnerships, investments in emerging technologies, and developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The integration of AI-driven insights into mobile health applications will enable personalized healthcare experiences, while machine learning can help identify health patterns and predict potential health risks, enabling preventative care approaches.
Regional Insights and Market Segmentation
The report reveals that North America holds a significant share of the healthcare mobility solutions market, attributed to advanced healthcare infrastructure and high adoption rates of digital health solutions. Europe and the Asia-Pacific region follow closely, with rising investments in healthcare IT and supportive government policies propelling the market forward. Countries in Asia-Pacific, in particular, are witnessing robust growth as governments push for digital health adoption to address healthcare accessibility challenges across rural and urban areas alike.
Healthcare mobility solutions are segmented by product type, end-user application, and region. Categories include mobile applications, mobile devices, and enterprise mobility management services, serving sectors from hospitals to diagnostic centers and home care. As consumer demand for instant access to health information grows, companies operating in the healthcare mobility solutions market are diversifying their offerings, tailoring solutions to meet specific user needs.

Importance of UX Design For Websites and Applications
Why is UX Design so Important?
(UX Design) User Experience design is essential for how people use digital goods and services. A well-designed website makes it easy for people to move around on websites or apps, making the experience fun and simple. User satisfaction and attention boost when the trip goes smoothly, making them more likely to be happy, stay longer, and return.
Conversion rates go up, too, when the UX design is good. Whether the goal is to get more sales, sign ups, or downloads, an easy to use design makes it simple for people to do what you want. By stopping problems, UX design makes the process easier for users, leading to more success.
Improves User Satisfaction
A well thought out user experience (UX) is essential to making users happier. If the website or app is easy to use and looks good, people are likelier to stay engaged and happy with their connection. A responsive UX design makes it easy for people to find what they're looking for, whether shopping, reading, or doing jobs. This clarity and ease make things less frustrating for users, improving the experience.
A smooth user experience also helps customers reach their goals more quickly, which makes them happier and more loyal. Users with good knowledge will likely return, tell others about the site, and trust the company. A better UX design makes users more interested and increases conversion rates. This means that any business that wants to make customers happier and thrive in the long term must have one.
Boosts Conversion Rates
Responsive UX design makes it easy for users to do what they want, like buy something or sign up for a service, improving conversion rates. Sites and apps that are easy to use and give clear instructions make people more likely to believe what they say. A clear CTA button, a friendly navigation system, and an easy checkout method help customers complete their work quickly.
However, people may leave the site without action if they see it as lazy loading and poor design. Responsive UX design keeps users interested and on track, removes barriers, and helps them reach their goals. This improves user experience and encourages more sales, sign ups, and other essential business results, bringing in more money with clients' happiness.
Enhances Usability
When a Responsive UX design is done right, it makes websites and apps much easier to use by simplifying scrolling. If the options and information are well laid out, users can quickly find what they need without any problems or confusion. Users can reach their goals more quickly when they don't have to deal with as many issues.
For instance, a website with a clear and helpful search bar makes it easy for people to find specific information, and an app with clear steps makes it easy for people to finish tasks. By taking away the need for users to think about how to get around, the whole experience is made more fun and less stressful. This makes users want to return because they associate the site with simplicity and quickness. Good UX design services make interactions smooth and make users happier, making them more likely to stick with the product or service for a long time.
Builds Brand Loyalty
Customers will be more loyal to a brand if the Responsive UX design improves their experiences, which keeps them returning. Users are happy with a brand and trust it more when they find a website or app that is fun and easy to browse. The trust instilled by a well designed UX makes customers feel secure and confident in the service, knowing it will meet their wants, making them return and stay loyal over time.
One example of a site that makes customers feel valuable and understood is a shopping site that remembers their choices and makes the checkout process more accessible. People with good experiences with a service are more likely to use it again and tell their friends about it, which helps the business, grow. Companies can build lasting connections with their customers by always focusing on what the users want and giving them a smooth experience. A well designed site makes customers happier and turns one time users into loyal fans who help the brand succeed in the long run.
Reduces Development Costs
Responsive UX design services can save on development costs by early investing. When possible problems are dealt with early on in the growth process, they don't have to be fixed later, which can be expensive. Companies can avoid significant design flaws that could take a lot of work to resolve by focusing on user needs and making designs that are easy to use
If the design of a website or app could be better, developers may have to redo significant parts of the project, which costs more money and takes more time. When these problems are fixed after the start, they can hurt the user experience even more, which hurts business goals even more. Putting responsive UX design first makes the development process go more smoothly and lowers the risk of mistakes and delays that cost a lot of money. Long-term, this method saves money and makes the product work well, which makes users happier and helps the launch go more smoothly.
Drives Competitive Advantage
Responsive UX design services gives you a decisive edge over other companies, especially in a market where many sell similar products. When two goods or services are identical, the way the user feels about them often makes a difference for them. If two apps have the same features, for example, people will automatically choose the one that is easier to use, looks better, and provides a more streamlined experience.
Customers who have had good experiences with a brand are more likely to stay loyal and tell their friends about it, which helps the brand, grow naturally. If a company spends money on a better UX design, it can get more customers, make users happier, and get a more significant market share. Companies can set themselves apart from rivals and grow long term by creating easy to use and fun experiences. Putting UX design first isn't just a way to make things easier to use; it's also a way to stay ahead of the competition.
Boosts Accessibility
Responsive UX design service improves digital accessibility by ensuring cities can easily use websites and apps, improving digital mobility. Add accessibility features like bigger, easier-to-read fonts, clear navigation, and support for screen readers to your products so that no one can stop you from fully using them. Keeping accessibility in mind when making a site not only helps disabled people use it better but also helps everyone else use it better.
Acceptance grows when accessibility is a top priority. This helps businesses reach more people, build a good brand image, and gain customer trust. When companies make their products and services available, more people can use them. This helps the businesses grow their market. This method ensures that everyone can have a smooth digital experience, regardless of their skills. This makes people happy, keeps them returning, and helps the company grow. It would help if you made UX design accessible for everyone to use. It's also a smart business move that will pay off in the long run
Strengthens SEO Performance
Responsive UX design services are vital to improving a website's SEO. Search engines like Google give more weight to websites that are easy to use and run smoothly. Quick load times, mobile friendliness, and easy navigation help with higher search results. If a website is dashed and easy to use on all devices, people are likelier to stay on it longer, look at more than one page, and interact with the content. This lowers the bounce rate, a key signal for search engines.
By making these changes to the user experience, companies make users happier and show up higher in search results. When it comes to UX, a well-designed website is more likely to attract and keep users, leading to higher rankings, more traffic, and more business success. Investing in UX design is a smart way for businesses to improve their SEO and online presence. This will help them grow and be seen in the long run.
Conclusion
Any company that sells digital goods or services needs to use UX design. A good UX design makes users happier, boosts conversion rates, and makes the whole thing more straightforward. By making the experience smooth and fun, companies can increase brand trust and lower development costs by fixing problems before they become big problems.
Users are more likely to choose platforms that are easy to use, which gives great UX a competitive edge. By putting accessibility first, you ensure everyone can use the product, even people with challenges. Also, a good UX improves SEO by improving load times and mobile response, which search engines like. Overall, UX design helps businesses grow by creating a good user experience, getting them more involved, and ensuring they do well in the digital market.

Okay, I'm having trouble matching sources for all of OP's claims.
I'm certainly not calling OP a liar or claiming that American Education Is Good, Actually, because I'm pretty familiar with the commonly cited statistic that American adults can't read above a 5th grade level (here's a snopes article sourcing some Gallup data and the linked PIAAC data that's a little more readable especially if you're on mobile), but it's worth emphasizing here that:
The PIAAC skills results (i.e., proficiency levels) do not specifically correspond to measures such as grade levels at school. The PIAAC proficiency levels have a use-oriented conception of competency and focus on describing what types of tasks adults at each level can typically do and their ability to apply information from the task to accomplish goals they may encounter in everyday life; for example, identifying a job search result that meets certain criteria.
The PIAAC does test comprehension and proficiency for interpreting data (not just vocab, as many of the replies and reblogs first expected), and while the US is decently behind the top two countries measured this way (Japan and Finland), it's ahead of the international average for this metric.
The second source link also suggests some heavy deficits in how US education teaches children to read (and makes what seem to me compelling arguments for improvements, though I don't specialize in early childhood education and am not familiar enough to judge their relevance), but does not contextualize this or compare it to any kind of international average.
I understand the initial distress of OP's claim that Americans can't read above an elementary school level, but journalists and publications are fully aware of this, and many have guidelines and standards for writing that take that into account (e.g. in my journalism classes, I was told to aim for a 6th grade reading level or lower and shown specific guidelines for how to make information accessible and minimize jargon. The US government and CDC aim specifically for 3rd–5th grade reading levels. The NYT aims higher, and your local publications may vary, but news is meant to be accessible, so the range could be closer to a 5th—9th grade reading level on average). Therefore, it's not at all accurate that people below a 6th grade reading level only have access to TV and video.
More accurately to the PIAAC data, 18% or so might have trouble with being able to read simple articles or web pages, but once again the US meets the PIAAC international average here (23% at literacy level 1 or below).
I've done my best to review the PIAAC data, but I'm simply not finding any backing for the claim that 55% of US adults cannot read long texts at all.
This appears to be a pretty clear misinterpretation of the data.
Quick question, genuine question:
Why on earth does "more than half of US adults under 30 cannot read above an elementary school level" not strike horror into the heart of everyone who hears it?
Are the implications of it unclear????
I'm serious, people keep reacting with a sort of vague dismissal when I point this out, and I want to know why!
If adults in the US cannot read, then the only information they have access to is TV and video, the spaces with the most egregious and horrific misinformation!
If they cannot read, they cannot escape that misinformation.
This obscene lack of literacy should strike fear into every heart! US TV is notoriously horrific propaganda!
Is that???? Not??? Obvious???????
I know this sounds sarcastic, I know it does, but I'm completely serious here. I do not understand where the disconnect is.
#this was a fun research rabbit hole. I think it's not always constructive to take US education as a whole monolith either.#Literacy and education rates can vary pretty severely by region so ymmv pretty severely#and the PIAAC data does go as specific as US county averages#it's also relevant to note that the PIAAC data for the US does go back years—but they changed methods a few times#so most of what's on their website is the 2012/2014 and 2017 surveys and is not reflective of the entire history of their data#because the older data might not compare as smoothly given the change in methodology. so I only looked at the recent data.#also the PIAAC website isn't really geared for readability esp on mobile. it's a lot of research jargon so like.#might not be the most accessible reference for trying to share info on tumblr?#also PIAAC being kind of the Big Source for this it's relevant once again that OP clearly wasn't using them as the primary source for#'adults under 30' as their data is divided into 16–24 and 25–34 age brackets.#once again while the PIAAC's info was used to find the elementary school level reading statistic that's not ACTUALLY what they measure#all this to say that the constant barrage of misinfo and poor media literacy is definitely a problem#but it's uh I think a little more complex than 'US early childhood education about reading sucks'#I couldn't find an international statistic or average comparable to the 'below a 6th grade reading level' stat so lmk if anyone has one#6th graders are 11–12 years old on average so that's probably how OP came up with the 'can't read chapter books' line#it's pretty common for US school libraries to sort books by reading level by grade and from my experience#there were definitely chapter books below a 6th grade reading level. e.g. by my school's AR metric PJO was like 4.7#so like. a fourth grade reading level (for ages 8–9) based on difficulty of plot/syntax tho they're obvs marketed to 6th grade or so#american education#not trying to like start a fight with OP or anything but these are very bold claims and they're getting a lot of notes so.
