This game throws lots of diversity into the mix with its mini-games and challenges. For me, this worked really well as the additional games added a lot of personality to proceedings as well as provided some much-loved nostalgia. If you are looking for a decent party game or have a fondness for Sega characters then Sega Superstars Tennis is well worthy of your time.

Time for another list of YouTube channel recommendations you didn't ask for and probably don't care about!

I was about to say these are in no particular order, but looking at the list in my notebook here it does seem they're clumped up into semi-related groupings so in some semi-random order, here's what I've been watching lately (in addition to zoom court, car crashes, public freakouts, and fails).

NOVYMPIA are Nova and Olympia, two 30ish drag queens who are also a couple. Their videos run the gamut, but they do a lot of trying (snacks from around the world, etc), tier lists (teenage celeb crushes, the crisps options with meal deals, UK chocolate), monthly "faves and shitters," and some hilarious and spot-on parodies of famous folks from TV and YouTube. They also do travel vlogs (not in drag) and other personal vids. Last year they did a lot of reaction to Eurovision. Always fun and funny; they make me smile.

LUXERIA is a trans lady, makeup artist with a biochemistry degree (she's a scientist, girls!), UK expat living in Spain with her partner and her cute mini-dachshund Mr Biscuit. Hers is mainly a reaction channel, watching reality and competition TV like America's Next Top Model, Botched, Glow Up, and Don't Tell the Bride, plus reactions to unhinged makeup/beauty TikToks. Her second channel, Luxeria Labs, is all about tech pertaining to photography; her work is lovely and she is a natural teacher so if you're interested in photography I recommend that channel, too.

CLUTTERBUG is a nice Canadian lady with ADHD who is a professional organizer that won't add to yr overwhelm. She has a 30-day, five-minutes-a-day decluttering challenge, lists of items you can declutter quickly, tips for how to keep a tidy house with ADHD, etc. She's not a beige millennial and she's not going to pour an avalanche of info on you. And her tips are helpful! MIDWEST MAGIC CLEANING is a funny guy who owns an extreme cleaning company (think hoarding/serious household neglect). He talks a lot about his own autism, as well as how he cleans homes for neurodiverse people in need of his help for free with donations from viewers. Very satisfying cleaning content, some tips, and a witty presentation by a nice guy.

For horror and other disturbing movie recs, I love spookyastronauts; she always shares informative, thorough lists, and gives enough information that you can decide whether to check out a movie--but craftily never spoils them. POSSESSEDbyHORROR reviews and discusses all things horror, mostly movies and books but also meta-discussion of topics in the genre and of particular works. For real life horrors (dark corners of the web, videos before tragedy, mysteries and weird death), I love LAZY MASQUERADE and TRAGEDY TALES. EXPLORE WITH US shares police interrogation and bodycam true crime videos in a deep-dive, newsy style.

EMMA CRUISES is what it says on the tin: a nice English lady goes on lots of cruises (mostly Europe, but she's also done Japan and recently did an Atlantic crossing) and reviews them, sharing every bit of info from cabin tours to excursions in port cities, to food, entertainment, and pricing. I have no intention of ever going on a cruise but I love her channel! SARAH SPACEMAN is another person who does something I don't and never plan to: she's a cosplayer who attends LOTS of anime cons and I think she is fairly well known. I watch her for con reviews, stories, etc. She knows her stuff and I always like looking at cosplay, even when I don't know the characters (it's all so impressive!), which she films a lot of. Gossip about milieus of which I'm not a part also has a certain appeal so videos like "the worst con I've ever attended" and other cosplay controversies interest me.

CECILIA BLOMDAHL lives on the island of Svalbard, the northernmost inhabited land on earth (I think). The international seed bank is located there. Cecilia makes videos of life on Svalbard, in the polar night, taking snowmobile trips, renovating and decorating her home with her partner Kristoffer (she's Swedish, he's Norwegian, they're cute), as well as their most recent project--an off-grid, isolated cabin for snowy adventuring (just seeing how they received a huge IKEA order by boat, and transported all the boxes to the cabin by pulling trailers behind snowmobiles is really something!). She's sweet and genuine, has a cute dog, and holy crap, she basically lives at the north pole!

Another unique home belongs to KRIS ATOMIC and her partner Andrew, who live on a narrowboat full time, cruising the canals of England and mooring at various places. She's witty and artistic, and of course life on the canals, every few weeks moving on to another village, is interesting (they have a cat, too), but man alive is their footage beautiful to look at! It will make you fall in love with the English countryside. I said to my husband, "If we liked our stuff less and each other more, I'd say this is how we should spend our retirement!"--only because these films are so magical to look at. A real stress-soother of a channel.

I already used ABO in my description for this prompt so why not keep it going with this show, because as much as the creators of the show wanted us to believe it wasn't ABO, this is drenched in omegaverse.

This show had such a crazy plot line and I do not want to explain the dynamics of this universe to my parents or really anyone outside of the fandom space. The show itself however committed to the bit and that made it easy to buy into the world of Pit Babe, the plot and the characters, which makes this a really good watch.

Utsukushii Kare (My Beautiful Man)

I find this show hard to explain and also if I do manage to explain the plot to someone, it's probably also going to sound weird to an outsider, so I'd rather not.

It is however one of my favourite Japanese shows and I'd highly recommend it to anyone within the fandom. It's not a dynamic for everyone but Japan does it soooo well in this show.

I'd highly recommend watching at least the full season 1 because a lot of context is given at the end of season 1, so don't give in to any knee-jerk un-comfortableness. Also the final confession is sooooooooo good!

Don't Say No

No denying that Mame likes to write about trauma and sexual assault and she usually leans into D/s dynamics. Don't Say No is no exception to this which makes it a hard one to explain to outsiders without getting into that.

Love In the Air is my favourite MeMindY show (which could also fit on this list) but Don't Say No is not far behind.

Most of the plot points during this show are wild, like two occasions of blackmail, an abusive mother and a lot trauma, but I really like the basis for this show: childhood best friends who get together after a long struggle, but then they have to figure out how to be boyfriends with all their baggage and assumptions, both of their own but also of the people around them.

It's a battle between what they want, what they think the other person wants and what they think they should want.

Part of that is them finding their roles in the D/s relationship they both want but are struggling to communicate which I find super interesting to watch.

Also I freaking love a Uke that's more sexually experienced than the Seme. No Blushing Maiden Ukes in this show!!

This is Taiwanese mini-series about a relationship between a man who's main personality is 5 years old and the man who saved him from an assault.

The show revolves around how his two personalities interact with his partner and how they find themselves in a loving secure relationship

As with most shows out of Taiwan this topic is treated seriously and not used as comedic relief. Even if this is a realistic relationship and the series doesn't revolve around an outlandish plot, I'd still think twice before trying to explain this show to just any stranger.

Sweet Curse

Finally, Sweet Curse is a Strongberry short that I have such a soft spot for. It's a horror comedy romance with high heat and a wild plot.

Let's just say: A friend of Ha Jun is jealous of him and decides to summon a demon(?) to haunt Ha Jun, but something is a little wrong (or right?) with Ha Jun so he isn't scared so easily.

The short is 30 min and it's on Gagaoolala (though not all locations but a VPN can fix that easily)

BTS Jin, 'Run Seok Jin' Ends "A Challenge for ARMY… I Was Happy to Be Loved" [Osen]

BTS Jin's solo variety show 'Run Seok Jin' ended with episode 36, which was released on the 27th.

'Run Seok Jin' is a self-made variety show that Jin started with the thought that he would do anything to respond to the love of ARMY (fandom name). He challenged himself in new areas with each episode, such as climbing Mt. Halla, maritime police training, experiencing an abandoned house, gymnastics, fencing, and action scenes.

In particular, Jin showed off his outstanding athletic ability and stamina on 'Run Seok Jin', earning the nickname 'the athlete who was stolen by K-pop'. His friendliness and cheerful sense of humor, which allowed him to naturally get along with anyone, added fun to the program and received much love from global fans.

Jin revealed his thoughts on the end of the show through his agency Big Hit Music, saying, "I started this content thinking about how to show my face to my fans who have been waiting for me for a long time after my discharge. There were difficult moments, but it was also fun to discover a side of myself that I didn't know about."

He continued, “Thank you to the guests and production staff who joined us, and most of all, to the ARMYs who loved and supported ‘Run Seok Jin’ for a long time. Thanks to you all watching with enjoyment, I was able to film happily the whole time.”

This is a four-month update on my old-school under-gravel filter tank—an experimental nano aquarium I set up to test the performance of this often-overlooked filtration method. In a world where high-tech canister filters dominate the hobby, I wanted to revisit one of the original filtration systems and see how it stacks up. The results have honestly surprised me—especially when I compare it to my Fluval FX2 running on a 40-gallon fish tank.

This tank is a compact 25-liter (around 6.6 gallons), running entirely on a classic air-driven under-gravel filter setup. I paired this with an inert gravel substrate and a diverse selection of aquatic plants to test how well rooted species would grow with steady water circulation around their roots—even without nutrient-rich soil or aquasoil. It’s been an eye-opener.

In the video, I walk through every step: from rinsing the Amtra gravel (which I’ll admit I didn’t wash quite enough), setting up the air-driven uplift tube, cycling the tank using Dr. Tim’s Ammonia Solution, and then planting everything from moss mats to Cryptocoryne and Echinodorus species. I even share some of the challenges I ran into—like trying to plant over the raised filter plate with too shallow a gravel bed—and the small but important upgrades I made over time, including switching to a piezoelectric air pump and eventually adding a heater to support better plant growth.

One major highlight is how well the tank has handled biological waste, even as the bioload increased. What started as a cycling experiment with only snails eventually became home to a small group of yellow Neocaridina shrimp, a colony of pink ramshorn snails, and most recently, five adult Medaka rice fish. I didn’t originally plan on adding fish, but after eBay UK banned the sale of live animals, I had to get creative and rehome livestock from other tanks.

Algae did become a bit of an issue during month three due to rising nitrate levels and the slow growth rate of most of the plants I selected. However, by increasing the number of shrimp and snails and adding fast-growing stem plants like Rotala rotundifolia and Ludwigia mini super red, I was able to restore balance. Watching the tank recover so quickly after those changes was one of the most rewarding moments in this journey.

As of month four, everything is thriving. The shrimp are berried, the Medaka are showing signs of breeding, and plant growth has really taken off since I installed the Seaoura SR 657 light. The moss mat is starting to fill in, and even slower growers like Echinodorus 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne 'Balansae' are adapting well. The under-gravel filter has continued to deliver consistent water quality, even with increased feeding to support the growing community of livestock.

This project has taught me a lot—not just about filtration, but about patience, adaptability, and how older tech still has a place in modern aquascaping.

Florence first for a week! Then back to the UK for 10 days and then Korea for two weeks!

I'm like... very ????? Like mostly I'm good, I'm surprised how good I am but sometimes I worry that I'm only okay because I'm distracting myself. So I'm genuinely trying to take it very chill in Florence and see if I'm actually okay.

But it's been a lot of change in the space of a year and genuinely the biggest thing I feel is humbled - like I really thought I had it together! And to be perfectly honest, I felt a little superior to people that didn't. Wow did the universe know how to throw that back in my face - single, nearly 30, only had one serious relationship, unemployed! Truly take down of the century for me.

But I'm trying to remember that instead of living the life I thought I would have, I'm living this one. Where I'm a person trying to figure it out just like most people are. And that no one goes through life without real challenges - and if they do, how much did they really live, you know?

Anyway! I am jealous of your cake, I love that you're high on love even despite the mini-heartbreak (isn't it odd how often they go together?), and I know that what will come along for you will be better than what you missed 💕

Storm Hawks Bird OC Challenge - November 2023

Remember remember the 5th of November, Gunpowder treason and plot

Hello Storm Hawks fandom! Spook month might be over but here in the UK we celebrate attempted regicide with fireworks. Hopefully this bird's colours are inspiring to y'all. This month we're looking at the wire-tailed manakin (Pipra filicauda)!

This bird is most commonly found in the Amazon basin and prefers habitats of subtropical or tropical swamps. It's part of a superspecies alongside two other Manakin species; the band-tailed and the crimson-hooded manakin. There's not much more information available, but the colours are a nice contrast to October's, so I hope y'all have fun with it!

The deadline this month is Wednesday the 29th of November, I look forward to seeing all the characters this month. Rules are under the cut.

Minimum requirements for drawn entries to be put in the winner’s vote are a name, occupation, the character’s home/birth Terra and at least one paragraph (or about 100 words) of written backstory.

Minimum requirements for written (i.e. written dossiers without art, or mini-fics for the character) are 500 words including backstory and appearance. Feel free to make a mini-fic out of this challenge, I’ll make sure to link it with the final collage as well.

You’re not expected to create a character from scratch for this challenge. If you’ve got an older character concept that’s been collecting dust or that you’d like to take the opportunity to revamp, feel free! The goal of this challenge is to inspire people.

Collaborations are allowed! Same rules apply, the only addition is that you and your partner(s) just need to make note of who was responsible for what part of the character.

Make sure to tag me in your entries and also DM me with a link to your entry. Tumblr is not always reliable about notifications for this sort of thing, and I don’t want to risk missing anyone’s entries, so better safe than sorry.
