Daniel blinks awake, groggily turning off his alarm and rubbing his eyes, blindly reaching for the water on his bedside table.

The room is still pitch dark, the night quiet outside.

2:55 am.

He grabs his phone, settling again onto the pillows and clicking through his apps until he can open the now familiar twitch app and navigate to Max's channel, just in time to see the starting soon screen appear as it goes live.

He knows this is ridiculous. He knows that he is not helping himself or his unstable sleep patterns by setting an alarm in the middle of the night to watch a guy stream from somewhere in Europe, but as long as nobody knows nobody can judge him either, so that's okay.

He yawns, scratching at his chest, watching people say hello to each other in chat as it comes alive.

He has yet to ever type something there.

In the two weeks he's been watching Max, he has managed to figure out what subscriptions and gifted subs are, Max's schedule (stream four times a week plus whenever he feels like it), and has started to recognise some usernames in chat. But there is something about actually typing that feels...revealing.

His username is generic, just Daniel_358, the number randomly chosen until twitch stopped telling him the username was taken, but that's still his name. Connected to his private email. And he knows he's not doing anything wrong, but it still feels forbidden, to wake up at night and spend about two hours just looking at Max.

The screen suddenly changes, switching to Max's camera, his pretty smiling face filling Daniel's small screen. Not for the first time, he thinks about setting up the projector, just to be able to see more.

"Hello everyone, it's Friday! And we're playing Minecraft today."

Daniel lets Max's now familiar accent wash over him, feeling himself smile back instinctively. Max looks soft today in the dim golden glow of his light, a faded sweatshirt almost covering the very short grey shorts he's wearing, and it makes Daniel wish he had Max right there, in his bed, warm and sleep rumpled in the sheets.

Yes, he is aware how weird that is too. He knows that it would maybe be less weird if he only got off watching Max's streams.

He has by now mostly figured out Max's deal. He'll play his games, talk with chat, and from time to time do something that will make Daniel's breath stutter in his chest. Touching his legs, squeezing himself through his shorts, raising his shirt to touch his stomach, trailing his fingers down towards his pants. One memorable time, he had pushed it high enough to touch his own nipple, a visible shudder traveling through him. Daniel had almost come on the spot.

The whole stream sometimes ends up feeling like a 2 hours long edging session, and he is so painfully hard by the end of it he comes as soon as he gets a hand around himself, waiting until Max has said goodbye to do so.

He doesn't always get off though. One time he had actually fallen back to sleep, Max's voice and Stardew's soft sounds lulling him straight into dreamland. But he always gets at least a little bit hard, something too sensual and alluring about Max for him to help himself.

Today though, Max seems more subdued. He still has his legs splayed open, miles of fuzzy skin on display, but he's focusing more on the game, even replying less to chat.

Daniel frowns, knowing he's not the only one who has noticed it, other worried messages popping up, mixed with a few more rude ones, telling Max to get on with it already.

"Sorry chat," Max says, finally acknowledging the messages with a small laugh. He takes a hand away from his keyboard, but instead of one of the usual teasing touches, he brings it up to his face, rubbing at his eyes and then dragging it down his cheek.

"It's been a long week," he adds with a sigh, before pushing himself to sit a bit straighter, pulling his smile back on. He's playing with the hem of his shorts now, pulling them high enough they completely disappear under the sweatshirt, but Daniel can tell it's an halfhearted attempt at best.

For the first time, he pulls up the chat, fingers itching to write something, but not knowing how to word it without being offensive. "You don't have to touch yourself if you don't want to"? Nobody ever actually acknowledges that bit out loud, he can't be that direct. "You don't have to stream if you are tired"? Would that feel like he's telling Max he doesn't care about his stream? He doesn't want that to be the first impression Max has of him.

Daniel_358: anything we can do?

He feels stupid as soon as he sends it, cringing at himself. What would he even do? He's on the other side of the world, a complete stranger.

And yet Max smiles, soft and sweet, and Daniel's stupid heart jumps in his chest.

"Hello Daniel, welcome in. You just being here is enough."

Daniel knows, he knows, that Max is just saying that, just a throwaway line to make him feel good, but at the same time he can't help but melt a little at the way Max says his name. At the thought of Max wanting him there.

He watches as a few more messages pop up, offering vague support, and sees the moment it gets too much for Max, his face closing off a little as he goes back to the game, trying to redirect chat's attention to it.

Without thinking too much about it, Daniel navigates to Max's profile down to the donate button. He's hovered over it often enough he doesn't have any trouble finding it, but it still takes him a couple tries to figure out how to properly go through with it.

A few moments later, a new alert pops up on the stream, startling Max (and Daniel, even if he knew it was coming) badly enough he accidentally falls out of a tree.

Daniel_358 has donated €358: for making it through the week and as good luck for the next

Max blinks. Pauses the game, then blinks again.

"I..uh...thank you Daniel for the donation? That's...a lot of money, mate," he stutters out, shaking his head slightly in disbelief. "Are you sure?"

Daniel_358: of course Daniel_358: you deserve it

Max's cheeks are red, his blue eyes wide, and Daniel's heart is still doing something weird in his chest.

"Thank you, then. It's...I of course appreciate it."

His voice sounds off, and for a moment Daniel is afraid he did something wrong, but then Max smiles, some tension in his shoulders disappearing.

"Well, Daniel just made the week better, so let's go back to chopping trees, yes?"

The chat explodes in a flurry of yeses and nodding emotes, and Daniel settles back on his pillows, feeling warm and satisfied.

The rest of the stream is more normal, Max going back to his usual teasing a few moments later, but for once Daniel doesn't feel like getting off, content with just watching Max's pretty smile and rosy blush. He still gets hard, he's not suddenly gone crazy (...or more crazy at least), but it doesn't feel as consuming as usual.

By the time Max says goodbye, Daniel is half asleep, curled up in his blankets, his phone laying on the pillow next to his.

When the screen goes dark he yawns, stretching slightly and dipping two fingers into his boxers, trying to decide if he feels like getting off or if he's sleepy and content enough to save it for the morning.

He's brushing a finger against the tip of his dick, still contemplating, when his phone dings, a new notification sound he's never heard before. Curious, he takes his hand out, reaching for it and unlocking it.

The twitch app is still open, now with a red number 3 next to the messages icon, and when he clicks on it he almost drops his phone again in surprise.

p4d yu’s just literally so fucking nice to yosuke. he just genuinely likes him so much i can’t overstate it. i don’t think a single person in yosuke’s life likes him as much as yu does. maybe even half as much. which is… extremely sad but also really really funny.

like every time yosuke says or does literally anything, yu thinks “yosuke’s right” or “yosuke’s reaction is perfectly natural” or “yosuke really is skilled at this, it’s admirable” or “yosuke’s complaining, but it’s to be expected, he worked really hard” he just thinks really highly of him. and every time yosuke says something stupid then gets ganged up on yu’s just like ‘poor yosuke :(’

the contrast between how everyone else treats yosuke and how yu thinks of him is just soooo funny. yu’s loser boyfriend he hypes up every time he enters a room. except he doesn’t actually say much of that at all— just thinks it. so interesting

“as i approach yosuke to console him” literally the nicest person in yosuke’s life. ‘it’s okay yosuke. i understood your joke yosuke. i thought it was funny yosuke’. yu would like all yosuke’s flop posts and reply with “🔥🔥🔥‼️👍” every time

He died in season 3 and Kristin sent him crows to watch over him in his next life, he believed it meant he was going to die soon

He is very superstitious, no umbrellas indoors, no shoes on the table, salt over the shoulder. Kristin thinks it's funny but it is a product of religion based paranoia

He will always accept death when it comes, no matter what. Worshiping the goddess of death means celebrating death, so even when hes upset he lost his life and hardwork, he will always move on

Kristin made him aware of his past lives and it freaked him out a lot at first, as it called his religion into question. If death isnt permanent, why was he devoting his life to worshiping Her?

Because Kristin is his god, he will let her do anything she wants. All the time. He has never learnt how to tell her no. He will not defy his god

Phil knows when Kristin (or the other gods) is watching him and it makes him paranoid

Him and Techno originally bonded because they are both very religious and their gods are pretty close

Phil believes death follows him wherever he goes and always has, he avoids people so they won't die (It's Kristin trying to keep her husband safe and not doing a great job, bechod)

He got over it but for a long time Phil could not and would not look at Kristin's face because he thought it to be sacrilege

more bright cousin au stuff. one time in the dead of night zakri sets up all of unnamed kiv's streaming shit and does an impromptu stream. the entire time he badly pretends that he is unnamed kiv afterward he erases as much of the evidence of this as possible and unnamed kiv only finds out like a year later because they found the vod unofficially uploaded on youtube. the reason unnamed kiv doesn't find out about any of this shit sooner is because their subscribers have developed a culture of staying quiet about zakri's bullshit because it's really fun to see how long they can keep unnamed kiv in the dark

me personally i think it would be based off canon botw events with slight changes here and there, and i kinda like the idea of them using something similar to the origins mod from the originsmp? that way it honors their original races in the game, e.g. revali's character would be avian or elytrian, daruk could be blazeborn or shulker maybe, etc

the CSMP server is created when the champions decide to collab after love or host and play minecraft together with the intention of surpassing the dsmp LMFAODKJFHD zelda starts the server and invites everyone and it takes daruk 30 minutes to figure out how to add the server ip to his game and log in LOL. at this time, revali and link are already bickering and have already killed each other twice without weapons and only their fists, urbosa is trying to mediate, mipha has wandered off collecting flowers, and zelda starts building a house that will eventually come to be known as "hyrule castle" >:]

after daruk is able to get in the game, they eventually all deviate from each other building their own houses in different parts of the map that they designate as their own lands, e.g. urbosa finds a desert terrain and calls it the "gerudo desert", mipha lives on the beach near a vast ocean in the "zora's domain", daruk finds a mountain with multiple lava pockets that he calls "mountain of death" because he fell into the lava pockets multiple times, and revali, being the overachiever he is, terraforms an entire lake and adds multiple rock spires because he thinks it looks sick and calls it "rito rock" at first. he eventually adds his own village and brings villagers to it and then it becomes "rito village". link makes a house but he rarely ever comes home because he's already underground finding stacks of diamonds or is in the nether raiding bastions lol

the ender dragon is regarded as the calamity ganon and by default the wither=dark beast ganon? HAHAHAHA and zelda actually is super into making lore for the server (because she plays DND i just know it in her nerdy little heart), and she keeps going on and on about how the ender dragon has plagued the "land of hyrule" for thousands and thousands of years and the descendents of the builders (her and link) are destined to defeat it, with the rest of the champions assisting in the battle. revali does not like this part of the lore because he wants to play a bigger part, but he doesn't wanna beef with zelda because she's a huge streamer so he fights with link instead. revali is constantly challenging link to 1v1s at his rock spire but always taunts him like You don't even have a base to call your own! link usually ignores him though LOL

i'm not completely sure how to integrate the divine beasts into the csmp lore, but (and this is gonna be hashtag cursed if you know what i'm talking about) in the dsmp they had an era called the "pet wars" where everyone was killing each other's pets in the server for whatever reason? i swear to god i wasn't that much of a dsmp watcher i only cared about like. two people's lore max. anyways. i think the champions would tame pets and name them after their respective divine beasts. revali gets a parrot that he names medoh, mipha finds an axolotl that she names ruta, urbosa gets a camel named naboris, and link helps daruk get a fucking strider from the nether to name rudania 😭 zelda gets an allay she names terrako and link gets a wolf he names twilight :] the pets would be called the "divine beasts" and they are cherished very deeply by each champion, and they often threaten to kidnap each other's pets when they're mad at each other especially revali and link. it gets to the point where link and revali end up hitting each other's pets, and to prevent warring, zelda finds some plugin or mod to disable pet deaths, or at least pet resurrection (idk if this exists. it should tho)

each champion's land grows to be larger, they have more villages/villagers (especially zelda like come on castle town!), and the server of hyrule starts to really fill in! link's first home eventually gets blown up by a creeper and he can't be bothered to rebuild it because he doesn't really care about having a base. revali starts bickering with him being like What if you die? Where are you going to respawn? Where will you keep your valuables? (link is the person with the least amount of deaths surprisingly and it's because he keeps all his shit with him and his spawnpoint is at world spawn lol) so link is just like Ok if you're so keen on me having a base, then how about you let me borrow yours? and revali is appalled at the suggestion and they argue a little more until revali eventually gives in and lets link stay at rito village under certain conditions. (all of this is being streamed btw, most of the time so people are absolutely getting converted to revalinkism watching this). link ends up being a great asset for rito village, because he protects the villagers and helps level them up because he trades with them all the time, and absolutely annihilates at pillager raids. he also. makes huge automated farms and storage systems for him and revali, and revali is... impressed. link didn't even ask if he wanted that, he just made it and automatically shared the resources between him and revali like . wow. revalink are gonna get married in minecraft you guys it's part of the lore

i can't think of anymore CSMP other champion shenanigans off of the top of my head rn bc im sleepy now LOL but like. besides revalink lore, i definitely want to see urbosa & daruk shenanigans, zelpha lore, daruk and mipha lore, urbosa and mipha lore, and just all the shenanigans between all of the champions. now imagine champion descendent shenanigans. oh god it would be so chaotic. imagine teba constantly experiencing revali and link bickering and flirting and bantering and just being like 😐🏳️‍🌈❌

if i think of more ideas, i'll post them! i'm just brainempty from work but this au seriously has so much potential i wanna write it now 😭

I'm trying to to decide between two story ideas for what I want to write concurrently with the second book in the Horror/Mystery/Romance duology (cuz it's gonna be more intense than the first one and I'm gonna need some breathers). And while I'm leaning towards the other option, I've been thinking about a Gamer AU where both Blake and Yang are variety streamers and part of my "research" has been watching some of my favorite streamers for inspiration, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about Team RWBY playing PlateUp! together since watching this and just imaginging the pure chaos that would ensue.

well now in my heart book!annabeth is an OG faceless minecraft streamer. she blows up because of her build of a to-scale ancient athens, which is entirely historically accurate. she never intended to get famous, nevermind for THIS of all things, but was too proud of her work not to show it off—come ON, she’s spent so long building things for olympus that she can never ever show people, she’s GOT to show off something totally innocuous like this!!

she’s well-known for recurring bits like referring to fighting monsters and building monuments IRL. sometimes she curses in greek or latin. her minecraft skin is in full bronze armor. her ign is like owl_head or something like that (nobody is allowed to call her wise girl except percy). the fanbase is convinced that she is a god-tier shitposter and extremely dedicated to her persona; they make lots of jokes about greek mythology that annabeth finds funny for obvious reasons, but unfortunately she does have to shut it down a little when people start trying to call her athena because her mom would get SO mad. (the “in-character” respect for pagan traditions really only enlivens the fanbase.)

percy is THRILLED by all of this (to annabeth’s immense exasperation). he and grover are her first mods.

annabeth dies a little inside when new campers start arriving at camp half-blood and they’re owl_head fans.

if we look at the original timeline (aka annabeth and percy being born in 1993) then 2009 was a big year for annabeth bcus not only did the battle of manhattan take place and she finally started dating percy, but also minecraft came out and i think that would be a big deal to her

Ok but Steve would be so nervous about meeting Eddie for the first time that he nearly backs out of the trip entirely. Plus it doesn’t help that he’s deathly afraid of airplanes (which he has talked to Eddie about a lot on stream) that and he hates being on planes because even though he has a hard time hearing doesn’t mean he can’t feel his ears constantly popping from being up that high. So when it’s decided that him and Eddie are going to meet it’s planned almost two years in advance. Eddie would try to fly and meet Steve numerous times but something always happens that he can’t make it. (After the third cancelation Steve decides to go himself) And because Steve is miserable and overstimulated after flying for so long it’s also agreed that he will get a full nights rest before meeting Eddie.

The night he lands he does get on a voice call with Eddie and a few other people and it’s the most nerve wracking call any of them have had because Steve is literally thirty minutes away from them and they have to wait the next day to meet him. (Also, Steve having a guide dog who he’s gotten recently who he had to name Oz because he lost a game.)

Eddie is so excited about meeting Steve that he stays up all night working on something for him in their base, and streams most of the night baking Steve’s favorite things. Like he takes it serious to the point where he somehow ends up with popular YouTube chef Argyle walking him through step through step. (Only to give up and drive over because they are both in California) and they make Steve a lot of things.

Plus just on the safe side Eddie has been learning sign language.

Though it was agreed upon that them first meeting would be more private. But Steve did agree having the moment recorded. But once again the plan doesn’t go as expected and Eddie crashes. Oversleeps his alarm and at this point everyone has decided why the fuck not. They start to set up cameras in his room (after making sure he was fully clothed.) Steve is very shy and they are all silent, and he’s also still very jet lagged and it’s decided that he probably could get away with passing out in Eddie’s bed if he needed. Just him sneaking in the room, with a happy smile on his face. The cameras see him at all angles as he moves over to the side of the bed. Trying not to laugh at how Eddie this room was. Him crouching down as if he was waking up a child. Now the whole internet has bets about how this interaction is going to go. They all think it’s going to be chaos. Like them running and jumping in each others arms and falling on their faces chaos. But of course they are all wrong as Steve carefully poked Eddie’s cheek.

The camera catches his soft laugh as he moves his hand to mess with the others hair. Which is the only thing all cameras can see, the covers are hiding everything else. It takes a couple of minutes before the guy starts to move. A soft yawn and eyes opening. Of course Eddie jumps back a couple of feet as Steve falls on his ass laughing. “Dude, I’m pretty sure we caught you in five different angles.” He’s nearly dying from laughter. And this is how everything hits Eddie, who immediately recognizes Steve. Everyone expects him to tackle the guy. Instead it’s a soft joke.

“Is it to soon for me to ask to bed you?” He’s obviously joking as he pulls his covers open and opens his arms sleepily for the other to join him. They’ve talked about this so many times, about how they would hug and most likely end up cuddling. Steve getting up and crawling in the bed shyly and falling into s Eddie’s arms with a soft laugh.

“I’m so fucking tired.” He groans as he doesn’t hesitate to hide his face in the others chest. (Even though Eddie has joked about hiding his face in Steve’s man boobs. He’s seen a photo of his hairy chest before not his face because once again Steve lost a bet with Eddie or DUstin.) and just the two of them having a very calm and soft meet. The camera catching the way Eddie’s face is in shock and adoration. His eyes watering a bit before he’s wrapping himself around Steve in a protective manner. How he has wanted to for the last many years. Ever since he heard the other got migraines so bad he has to sleep them off.

The last thing the camera sees is Steve’s head poking up from the cover to watch one of the kids take the cameras down while Eddie is dozing off again. The camera shuts off right as Ozzy jumps up on the bed meeting Eddie for the first time. Licking his face and waggiling his tail as the two are giggling softly lost in their own world.

Both of them getting rest, (Steve is staying the entire week at a hotel, it turns him into staying the week with Eddie which ends up into two then four up until they decide he can just stay) and Steddie is trending for weeks after that.

(Also, Eddie learned how to build a Aquarium and put cool fish in there for Steve, that’s what he did while waiting)

Ok so like I’m exhausted- and I just really need to get this idea off my chest.

But a streamer au. Obviously modern, where Steve can’t hear anything because he accidentally dropped his hearing aids in the toilet. (Something real goofy and stupid) and he’s friends with popular streamer Dustin Henderson (who plays all sorts of games) not only is Steve friends with him but he’s friends with a few other streamers. Though they all want to include Steve in on their Minecraft server, because they know that when he has his hearing back he’ll be on there all the time talking to them. That and he also enjoys building things with Robin and just wander around the world. So they all get this server set up and start streaming. Some newer streamers join as well that Steve doesn’t know but the others know, and Steve has quickly become a fan favorite.

They are roleplaying a DnD campaign in Minecraft, when Steve’s character just pops out of no where doing the randomest things, at this point he even has lore. He’s a mute character who can only talk through messages. Everyone just loves Steve. He’s made numerous friends, and has helped build a lot of things. And no one in chat as ever seen or heard him. Though he is always in Eddie Munson’s streams constantly. Eddie is a older streamer, but wasn’t in on the fact that Steve can hear he just needs hearing aids. So when Steve explains he’s mostly deaf he just goes on about his day like normal. Though now typing book length messages to Steve. (Every streamer can see these messages, Eddie enjoys talking there so his chat can see what Steve’s saying and it’s easier to read off the same screen instead of having to constantly switch to discord) at this point Steve and Eddie are thick as thief’s.

Eddie’s the chaotic one and Steve is the tame one, and their videos together are hilarious. Though when Steve finally gets his hearing aids he’s excited to finally be able to talk to his new friend. He clicks in and joins the voice chat where you can only hear each other when you are actually close to each other in game. (Proximity) so when Eddie comes on and finds Steve he’s talking to his chat, not really caring about muting his mic because Steve can’t hear it. And he doesn’t stream.

And Steve his beaming and happy because he can finally hear Eddie’s voice. His hearing aids are a lot better then the last ones and he isn’t as muffled anymore. He stays silent, because he’s shy. And he tags along with Eddie. Who’s now changing his skin back and forth and talking to chat still. Steve hasn’t said anything. He’s waiting.

“Alright fine fine, I’ll ask Steve if he likes the maid out fit or the bunny suit.” Is heard right before aggressive typing begins.

Steve answers without thinking, and sounds really soft. “Maid Outfit.”

And his first words spoken to Eddie are maid outfit. And the timing is hilarious because he’s pretty sure Eddie has flat lined.

“Also, meant to ask why are our beds pushed together?” Steve asks.

Just I want a really cute au like this. And not weird.

Or instead of the maid outfit, chat is telling Eddie to give Steve his daily kiss. (It’s not he just moves forward and hits Steve’s Minecraft character) which has always confused steve until he hears. “Fine daily smooch for the Stevie boo” (Eddie has given him nicknames?) and just smacks Steve’s character making him loose a heart.

“Ow. That’s why you keep hitting me? For kisses? Eddie I gave you cake, we share a house together and you decided smacking my character upside the head was the equivalent to kissing? You could have just given me flowers dude!”

(Like all of the possibilities are endless)
