First of all: how dare you suggest that i am "reluctantly" endorsing voter fraud? I am ENTHUSIASTICALLY endorsing voter fraud. I'm a Minecraft Youtube fan; aggressively spamming votes on Tumblr polls basically comes with the territory. I think putting time and effort into frauding silly brackets with no consequences is based, and people who do it are awesome. I even clarified in the tags of my previous response to you that I have nothing but respect for whoever is frauding for Avatrice. That level of of commitment is absolutely no joke, and i would know!

And how would i in particular know? Well, because: yeah, that was in fact me in the green! :) So was this. And this. And this also. Oh, and all of these as well! I even was the person pushing for Griddlehark in the last round. Not because I'm a massive Griddlehark fan (though I've read the first two books and i do quite enjoy them), but because when I saw back in Round 2 that Avatrice had gotten past XenaGab--THE XenaGab!--I didn't just see a graph that showed signs of blatant and extremely dedicated voter fraud; I saw a challenge! Finally, a worthy opponent! For too long my skills have gone untested, but now was the time to truly see what I was capable of!

Sadly, I made a mistake with Griddlehark; I underestimated my opponent. I saw their large starting lead, and foolishly believed that they could maintain it on their own before I needed to step in. Thus, I focused my early efforts elsewhere, namely MadoHomu and Vrisrezi. By the time I turned my attention to Griddlehark, it was too late. My opponent simply was faster, stronger, and had a sleep schedule or time zone that allowed them to continue long after I personally had to retire for the day! I simply couldn't keep up. And so I conceded that battle, focusing instead on ensuring that Vrisrezi and, yes, HaruMichi, continued to the following round.

This round, however? I refuse to make the same mistake. No more distractions; Vrisrezi may lose, but Alphyne is a worthy opponent, and I willingly concede that battle. My full efforts are concentrated solely on HaruMichi. The reason the graph looks "like this", and that the lead is so large? Because I spent hours last night widening that gap as much as I could. I said I was going to make this as difficult a battle as I could, and I meant it. My enemy--nay, my nemesis!--is powerful, and they have earned my respect. Thus, I must show that respect by fighting back with everything I have. The Avatrice frauder and I are locked into a deadly dance, a duel for the ages! If I lose this battle, I shall willingly concede and allow them to go through the next round uncontested. But until the last minute of the poll runs out, I will FIGHT!

It's a magical tracker from the translocation book that works a lot like how he can always tell where Wren is because she's his anchor (that's plausible right??? I think it makes sense, given the lore I know)

He did actually ask Punz "hey is this too extreme? I know Wren probably wouldn't approve of me doing it without Cryptid's knowledge but I mean come on! They were fucking kidnapped, it's justified right?????" And Punz was just like "yeah seems legit to me. I mean they might hate you for it in the long but teenagers am a right?"

Anyway yeah Punz is a terrible influence because his moral code is even more squirrelly than Dream's, this is one of the many reasons Wren hates him

As expected Wren is very not ok learning that Dream put a magical tracker on Cryptid without their consent ESPECIALLY because Cryptid probably (to her knowledge) would have said yes and this is exactly what Dream did to her and ugh just communicate like a damn adult instead of putting spells on everyone!

She is especially pissed off by it though because Cryptid just ran away it's clear that they ran away rather than being somehow taken and so she's already suspecting that something went down with Dream and Punz given that after going to meet with them they came home pissed the fuck off and neat sobbing but locked themself in their room before Wren could say anything about it. She just assumed that they needed time to cool off from whatever the fuck happened and that they would talk later.

They didn't get a later.

So yeah Wren's pretty fucking suspicious, and then it's revealed a tracker was put on them, and then they keep running, and then they willingly go to Sam of all people, and then when they're confronted they refuse to go home

So uh yeah Wren knows some shit is up before Cryptid actually tells her what happened. It's a very tense month for the artic commune.

Sorry for rambling so much lol, I just have a lot of thoughts about how exactly Runaway arc goes down.

as someone who only ever beat four swords adventures. can i hear the lore on why the newer games are annoying. if you dont want to get into it in public though i totally get it lol

OKAY SO LIKE. let me put this under a cut.

so me thinking the newer games are annoying is a personal thing. i'll put that out there to begin with. i completely understand why they're games that people love a lot—for people who like open-world games with lots of exploration and building shit and whatnot, and don't really care for games that have Plot and Stories and Meaning behind them, they're probably damn near perfect games.

but like. MY main problem with the games, specifically (which could be easily ignored if not for my MAIN BIG PROBLEM WITH THE FANDOM which i'll. get into after this), is that while i will concede that they may be Good Games to those who play them (i watched a playthrough of breath of the wild Once and am currently trying to get through it myself and not only am i bored to tears but i hate the art style and when i say the soundtrack fucking sucks. the soundtrack Fucking Sucks. like it is legitimately the WORST fucking game soundtrack i've ever heard in my LIFE which makes doing anything in the game absolutely unbearable to me) they are, absolutely, terrible ZELDA games.

the legend of zelda franchise for almost forty years now has built up a series dedicated not ONLY to exploration within the game, but also music and wonderful stories that each game tells. like pokémon, in its own way—but even in pokémon, when the story is bland (xy, swsh) or just plain bad (usum) you can always count on it to have a great soundtrack. breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom took both "plot" and "music" and just threw them out the window. the overworld music in breath of the wild is nothing except a few piano notes every five minutes. the battle music when you encounter an enemy is the most boring, lackluster shit i've ever heard in my life (AND THE MUSIC FOR THE BOSS BATTLES IS SOMEHOW EVEN WORSE). basically imagine pokémon legends arceus except instead of all the wonderful overworld music we got for all the different areas, you just have dead silence. that's pretty much what running around in breath of the wild is like.

and the story? get ready for the blandest characters you've ever met in your life. you will not get attached to a single one of those cardboard cutouts. anything that adds meaning to the story is locked behind paid DLC which automatically makes it not even worth my time or money. basically, breath of the wild was like "what if we took the original legend of zelda from 1986 and its sequel from 1987 and added modern mechanics to it. and throw in a new plot that isn't even worth getting attached to." i would literally prefer playing those old 2D games over that game. their plots were entirely constrained to the game manuals because they couldn't fit them into the actual games themselves because they were 80s games and they were STILL more interesting than botw/totk.

but whatever! it's not a big deal. i can ignore the games. it's not up to me to dictate what people should and should not play as part of a franchise. again, people love the games for a reason, and that reason is usually because breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom are like "what if legend of zelda but throw in some minecraft elements about it". like....okay. WHATEVER!

my problem is with the fandom. the Giant Portion Of The Fandom That Has Only Played BOTW and TOTK and NOTHING ELSE. you literally cannot escape it. you know the types of people that spam the tags of every game in their game series just to make EVERYONE look at their post about One Particular Game? yeah it's like a literal army of those people. i MAINLY stick to posting about the older games from the 80s/90s/early 2000s (i.e. four swords/four swords adventures, the original legend of zelda + its sequel, a link to the past, the minish cap, ocarina of time/majora's mask/etc etc etc you get me) and everywhere you look there's somebody doing everything in their power to bring botw/totk into it/spamming the tags with botw/totk posts/just spreading blatant misinfo regarding the older games???? because they've never played them???? and like whatever i can ignore that too but i mean!!!! at some point it just gets so ridiculously irritating!!!!!! basically it's like. do you know how the pokémon company keeps bringing kanto into literally every game somehow + will not stop with the charizard hype to the point where everyone is sick and tired of charizard. that's pretty much what's happening except it's botw/totk. and i am so tired of hearing about the metaphorical charizard HAHAHA

I logged in, once again met with the locked lonely prison cell of mine. However in the next few seconds while people were joining and fighting off mobs to "Clean" the prison. My screen faded to black as a video clip began to play, we had recorded this yesterday after the prison event day 2 closed. That way the others wouldn't know about it. My chat watched as the video showed a 3rd pov of me swimming up through an underwater tunnel. My animated Minecraft character had an angry face of determination as I swam faster and faster. Suddenly I swam up, breaking water as the video showed me flying into the air. In slow motion I transformed into my non-merperson form. Landing gracefully, a crossfade then led to my pov.

In front of me stood the extra tall darkened figure, they had blurred the character making it hard to tell anything about him besides his height. "So you have finally come to see me little shark?" The figure said in a young but deep male voice. I sighed and walk closer to him, staring at the window together. We could see the kingdom below and the beautiful land in the horizons as the sun began to set. "When you look out this window, what do you see?" I asked him. You could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke. "A happy kingdom free from sinners and forever prosperous" I looked up at him before looking back out on the land. The Sun was nearly half way gone down, letting a nice golden hue grace the land. "Well, I see that same kingdom you described but I also see the hidden truth to that beauty. Down there are people pretending to be happy, pretending to enjoy anything and everything their leader gives them. Or teach them." I could see him look down at me in my peripheral vision and I continued on. " However they are sad, they are forced to follow strict rules to act strict ways. They aren't a truly free people, a people with trust to live safely and happily."

I heard him sigh as he looked back out at the now darkened land, the sun officially gone. "A perfect kingdom like this comes at a cost little shark." I walked away from the window and back into the room. "But when does that cost become too great? When will you realize what this cost really is?" He turned and looked back at me. "When will you see this place the way I do. It used to be perfect and happy, but you were unsatisfied by it triumph. You craved more, and look where it's taken us." He almost growled at me with a sigh. "You just don't see the potential I can see for this place. The safe haven and happiness we can create if you just follow my lead."

I began to walk away, the figure following me when I spoke again. "You're right, I don't see what you see, because I am not blinded by my lust for the ultimate prosperity. I am not as Prideful to not hear the cries and begs of my people. Instead I have humility and honor, to uphold justice and happiness for the wellbeing of the people I serve. I can't force you to change you mind, to fix your faults. But I can tell you that the path you are following is only going to lead you to your terrible demise. If not then one day I won't recognize the man in front of me, and then no one will wish to follow you no more." I now stood in front of the water pool that I had sprung from earlier.

I had my back facing the water as I looked directly at the figure in front of me. "I do not wish to see you fall but I will not follow your words if it is to hurt those around us. You need to pick you battle wisely or You may lose me in the end." With that the video then showed me in a 3rd pov as I fell back into the water, instantly switching back to half shark mer person. Quickly swimming away as the video fades to black.

Then I 'woke up' breathing heavily as my pov came back to the current view of the prison.

When I 'Came back' everyone was finally awake including the kids and they were conducting their 'interviews'. When I was outside, I watched Charlie and Philza following ghost cellbit. However in seconds I was teleported again. I was once again face to face with that stupid main guard dude. Before he gave me th ebook again I spoke. "You already know what I am going to say, so let's save the chit chat and get on with it." However he still gave me a book.

Hello you worthless shark hybrid. I am more than happy to skip the useless formalities however this time I have information to share before your daily beating.

Our supervisors are finding more and more information about where you and the pathetic little creature came from. Even if you don't give us what we want. We will still find out what we want to know.

With that I threw the book back as the guard pulled out a long red sword. Quickly he began to attack me again as my name showed up being murdered over and over again in chat. This time I was killed double any of the other times. Around my death in chat was the others yelling for me, they wanted to find me and help me. But they wouldn't be able to do anything.

However I heard the slowly increasing voices of Fit, Phil, and Charlie. They had been nearby this time and ran into the respawn cell area to find me. The door had been locked and I could see them on the other side of the bars. Phil yelling the loudest for them to stop, while Fit and Charlie both yelled about how the guard was a coward fighting an unarmed prisoner. Even the eggs were there with them. With the last death my avatar skin changed one last time. I was now the worst looking that I had been. My clothes were in tatters as scars and fresh cuts shown from the rips. There were even a few on my face.

The guard went invisible and left the area as the other barged in with mini knives a-blazing. "You motherfucker! Coward!" Phil yelled looking around. Charlie and the eggs were first to come to me, laying on the ground. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON Y/N!!??" he yelled at me. I sighed and let my character get up as the other two came over.

"Please just listen to me before saying anything okay?" They nodded and agreed. "So until yesterday, I had no idea why exactly they were doing this. I have no memory of my past before that pirate ship you all saved me from. However they knew something, all they told me was they knew where I came from and they wanted information from me." I sighed. This is when my partial acting classes came in handy as I made myself sound like I was going to cry. It was for the lore though, gotta make this shit stick. With a wavy voice I continued. "I had no idea what they were talking about until yesterday when I began to hear voices, voices I know must be memories. The familiarity in them is too strong to not be a memory. Then today, I woke up from a dream one that was too vivid and too strong to not be a complete memory from my past. Only one thing wasn't vivid enough. The man I spoke to was simply a blurred figure in the room. What was said is scary and I hope that this all played out better for me than what might be possible" The others sighed around me.

Phil spoke first, "I'm glad you finally allowed us to hear your troubles, now let us help shoulder this dark cloud. Let us help piece together your blurred memories and snippets of voices. We want to help you y/n" I agreed to his terms, now was time for my lore to really join into theirs.

Slowly over the next few months, the real story would be pieced together with the islanders. Things would start to make sense, but the truth might come with a price. It may lead to opinions changing, but one can only hope it does not lead to the downfall of my friends or my friendships.

We all left the area, today was the day we were meant to escape. A few different ways to escape had been found but obviously we weren't finding the right one. Or more importantly the 'LORE ACCURATE' escape.

Now I was sitting in the middle of tubbo and Charlie who were running in a circle saying weird things. I honestly zoned out after a while. However suddenly Charlie left because he had plans and couldn't stay any longer to try and escape. So after saying goodbye Tubbo the eggs and I began to run and find the rest of the group.

We found them going to a green house, this was apparently supposed to be the lore related escape. We went down this hole in the ground where Quackity placed a lever. Once the levee was pulled, we all ran down an over grown cave system. When we got to the end we found that we would have to swim through a long sewer system.

Phil was ready to jump in and find out where to go, however I punched him back and chuckled. "You stay here, this is where I come in handy." I morphed into shark mer person and began to swim through the system. However the others still jumped in and got stuck in the exit as the for was closed. So I rolled my eyes and went looking for the lever to trigger the door. I heard everyone screaming at each other. I found the lever and flicked it opening the door for them. But it also got rid of all the water aswell. "Guys hurry I got the door open but we are losing the water with it!" This left a few eggs and people stuck thankfully quacks was the hero and broke the blocks so everyone could escape together.

Once out of the sewer system, we entered a a room where Phil had the right boots and could hit the button for us to enter the next room. It was really hard to pay attention as now there were too many chefs in the kitchen. Slowly we were making it through the mini escape rooms that was this prison escape.

It felt like ages before we entered a huge room, finally something less cramped. Except now we were running from guards trying to kill us to stop us. We just kept running, fighting off when we need to. Until finally we made it to the end of the tunnel and no more guards were after us. We were now in a room watching the same few clips play over and over showing us what looked like the nether. Once we had all seen the clip a few times we moved on.

This room showed a big ass red button that we thought we needed to hit. "this looks like a set up for the lore story.." Tubbo laughed and agreed before sunny hit me and placed a sign. The sign read "Shhhhhhh" and she stood next to it shaking her head back an forth.

We all split up and began working on the other rooms, I joined Phil's group. We had to figure out how to get an item along all the conveyor belts. The other groups basically speed run their rooms with ease. Soon we had everyone in our room and we were the last one with the need to finish.

This room was taking hours, however foolish and I decided we no longer wanted to wait like this. "Let's just spam the buttons." I agreed and we ignored the others as we began spamming the buttons.

It didn't take long until we ended up slapping the button and arrived in a random library looking room. Thunder played every now and then. I was becoming bored by this all until finally they played the final video of the night. We watched a dark figure insert a key to restart the island. We watched as the island was effected for a split second while the restart began. When we came to we were all kicked from the server.

I smiled at my chat, "That was good right chat?" They were all screaming and melting down about the server restart. I laughed as they went insane. However seconds later I was asked to join the call with everyone as they talked about this ending and how there was going to be a break before the QSMP was back up.

When I joined everyone was asking how I felt about this and I just had one small answer. "Well I had my own home for about 2 weeks, I literally finished the last addition to my house the day before we were sent to prison. So yeah I'm a little annoyed." They all laughed and we continued to talk for a few minutes longer until everyone decided we were done and left the call.

"Well chat, the next few lives won't be QSMP related, I know sad. But qsmp should be back in about 6 days but don't be upset if it takes longer. I was talking with my admin friend the other day and there is a chance they will have to take more than that to set up the server. So please be patient with them about that, However I'm going to tweet here in a bit for you guys to suggest something for me to do for the next week. That way we can keep up my livestream schedule."

Chat and I told each other our goodbyes as the livestream ended. It was kind of nice to get this break so me and my friend could better plan out how and when more of my lore would drop. We also needed to fix a few plot holes to make this story a lot more seamless. I'm excited to see where this story continues to go and how my story will help move it along.

Sorry it took me a bit to get to this one!! Such an interesting pair and honestly I don’t talk about the two of them together nearly as much as I’d like so Ty for the chance to anon lmao

- first some background: their first meeting was a little awkward because Maya was a HUGE off the hook fan when she came to inkopolis (and tbh still is). From the first splatfest she participated in she immediately fell in love with Pearl and Marina’s music so her first time meeting them was mostly her staring at them from behind Marie trying not to explode into fangirl mode, and Marina awkwardly waving at her everytime they made eye contact because she didn’t know what to say + this was hardly a day after octo expansion so girl was TIRED.

- due to Marie’s friendship with OTH though, overtime the more Maya was around them the more she warmed up to them in a more casual way, and eventually they both basically became her cool aunt figures lol. But since this is about Marina and Maya were focusing on the Marina part with that

- Marina’s pretty good at sewing and 80% of the gifts Maya gets from her are different sewed together or crocheted plushies or the occasional blanket. Maya adores them all and bounces around everytime Marina gives one to her

- they’re both autistic with pretty similar sensory needs which they bond over lol. Sometimes when Maya’s over at OTH’s place and is overstimulated they’ll go sit in one of the sound proof recording studios together and bring a bunch of blankets and pillows in with them and just vibe with their own pair of headphones doing their own thing. Pearl will go to check in on them and make sure they’re not bored + are okay and they’ll both just be like “this is the best experience I’ve had all day”

- I am cringe but I am free you gotta embrace that for this one OKAY LISTEN TO ME JUST LISTEN Maya and Marina are both furries Maya’s got a sheep fursona Marina’s is a wolf, and Marina helped Maya make her first ever fursuit and in return Maya made her so many drawings of their fursonas hanging out and Marina has them all pinned onto the wall of their main recording studio.

- Maya infodumped about fnaf to Marina one time and ofc she was already genuinely interested she loves her niece and her interests, but she only like “sat up super invested” when Maya started going into how the animatronic mechanisms worked. Pearl and Lucky had to stop Marina from building a spring lock suit that day because she WOULDVE.

- on a similar note sometimes Marina will go on long infodumps to Maya about machinery and Maya genuinely enjoys listening to them. Sometimes when she gets home from hanging out with her she’ll recreate what Marina was talking about in Minecraft, then bring her laptop the next day to show her and ask how accurate it is (Marina LOVES it everytime)

- last one cus I’ve gone on long enough on accident lol; second best to Marie, Marina’s the best at getting Maya to go back to sleep after waking up from a nightmare. Maya spends a good chunk of time at OTH’s place since they’re the first Marie goes to for watching over Maya when both she and Callie are away for long periods of time for work, so they’ve had experience with dealing with her having nightmares in that time ofc. Maya used to feel reaallyyy bad about it bc it’s one thing to wake her close family up from it, another to wake her kinda family figures up who she’s just a guest at their house to atm from it, but they don’t mind and usually Marina is the one who gets up from it to sit with Maya and talk her through it or sing her songs until she’s able to sleep again. (She has the experience of doing it through Lucky also having a lot of nightmares.)

Martyn gets called into work, but drops by Scott on the way. Scott's fighting through his own problems that not a single one of his friends can relate to. Meanwhile, Joel invites Grian to Empires to visit Hermes- Y'know, that kid Joel insists is real and Grian claimed was an armor stand last chapter.

Lastly, Grian returns to his wife on their home server. Their marriage may be arranged and awkward, but he's locked in offline status with her for another month straight, so he may as well get cozy...

If you're not hearing James Turner cry out "Aww, bat too!" every time Pearl swoops down on his head with wings unfurled, or listening to the constant hum of bee wings in your ear, are you even in Simmers' Quarter? Martyn spreads his arms and wings for balance, meandering across the copper rod rail that spans between the rooftop of one building and the next. Oh, sure… Flapping your wings is easy, but that sort of takes away the thrill and the rush of the tightrope, doesn't it?

Funny joke. I've got 24/7 vertigo anyway.

He takes every step with his eyes shut, tongue sticking out from one corner of his lips. Technically this is the Australian Quarter, but literally no one ever calls it that. Not even Pearl, and she's an Australian Minecrafter. It's just that all the Simmers live together down in this corner: not because they have to (or even because their time zones match up), but because they're such good friends.

Simmers' Quarter also happens to be the edge of the perimeter where Scott assigns housing to the accounts played by fairly young creators who are still learning their way around Minecraft. Basically, you'll never find any fewer than a hundred babies running around, and if you ask Martyn, the Simmers always look exhausted, like managing their needs in mere proximity of noisy children leaves them drained. But if they really didn't like it, they could file the paperwork to move, right?

I mean, they're Simmers… Maybe some of them still think we pay for things with consistent currency instead of doodles and build tips.

Martyn wobbles in an imaginary breeze. His vertigo kicks on a little stronger, a little more demanding. It swirls his stomach and guts in circles like he's mixing homemade ice cream. Whoa. Martyn keeps his eyes pinned shut. He doesn't peek. He only breathes.

I am not falling.

He balances on the copper rod, which Scott probably installed here for the many bat hybrids that call this area their home. Besides little rods and decorative bits like these, everything in Simmers' Quarter is built from wood and chiseled stone. The block palettes are pretty simple, but it works… The young, newbie builders don't often care for fancy designs (and setting them up with pretty stone and wood is a good way to guarantee they won't settle for less tasteful blocks like cobblestone or emerald). Most of the Simmers dump a few leaf blocks down for bushes, but largely prefer interiors, so in the end? It's a win-win.

Martyn's not here to talk to any Simmers. Or any of the hundred kids. At the end of the copper rail, he swings down and drops with a thump on the landing pad. The door's not locked. He waltzes right in. Just without a waltzing partner.

Ah, I'd love a waltzing partner. I oughta talk to Skizz.

The hallway's lit with golden lanterns. He's on the top floor. Nobody else is wandering. Martyn strolls along until he finds Room 810. He sifts through his pockets, digs out his spare key, and pushes it in the lock.

"There we are…"

Home bitter home.

The flat's a lot tidier since Scott packed his things and moved out. That's not to say Scott caused a big mess when he lived here. Jimmy just… never redecorated. Martyn can't even blame him. He's not redecorated in, eeeehhhh… Probably getting close to 300 years at this point. Definitely over 250. Dunno, honestly. Math is hard and everyone's brains are scrambled. There's not really much point in decorating, is there? Jimmy's the one who spends the most time in it, and while Jimmy and Scott were dating, Martyn hadn't seen a reason to get in the way. He keeps his stuff and private portal in his room, but so much of his station time is spent at the flock roost or else combing the perimeter. The flat is…

… Martyn only has a flat at all because of the people he came to stay with.

Martyn kicks his crocs at the front door, sliding into his slippers instead. All the lanterns are off. Jimmy's not home yet, still at the first of many late-night parties. All their games are gone too. There's no food here that Martyn's anivore body will get any pleasure from. And Scott took the blankets and throw pillows. He left the printscreens now framed along their walls - even had the decency not to crop his own face out when he left - but Martyn glances at exactly none of them. He'd just… rather not right now.

His room's the left one at the end of the hall. Jimmy's and Scott's (Jimmy's) is the right. The third door, straight ahead, is the one he came here for. As he walks, Martyn reaches into his pocket and withdraws a letter. He wrote it over break while they were killing time, waiting for Grian and Etho to account for Scar's glitch. Martyn swats it several times against his palm and opens the last door. The purple, wooden N hanging on its front clacks as he pushes through. This room never had a bed. The old occupant never saw the point in one, seeing as you can't sleep in the Between dimension.

It's not as quiet in this abandoned room as Martyn would like. He can hear screeching children playing in the road outside. He can hear Gluon's distinctive bee wings humming very, very near the edge of the apartment. Martyn makes a mental note to take him and his fez out first next time he gets the chance.

Ah, well… It's Simmers' Quarter. Whatcha gonna do?

He gives a little love-tap to the sugar glider hoodie hanging abandoned on the hook behind the door. Hasn't been worn in a few hundred years, but it's nice to know it's still there. No matter how hungry Martyn's gotten… he's never been hungry enough to eat that.

My Favorite and Least Favorite Parts of the Xbox Brand

Favorites: Smart Delivery. It is nice to buy an Xbox One game that has enhancements on Series X. Game Pass. While I am not an active subscriber to Game Pass, it is nice to get to play so many games that I may not have played otherwise. Xbox Play Anywhere. I love that for many games on Xbox, I get the PC version as well with progress syncing between all devices. My LEGO Star Wars TSS and Ace Attorney experiences would not be the same without. Backwards Compatibility. Because of backwards compatibility, I was able to play some of my favorite games on modern hardware (LEGO Star Wars TCS, LEGO Star Wars III TCW, Sonic Generations, Toy Story 3) and experience old games for the first time in a convenient way (Sonic Unleashed, LEGO Indiana Jones, Fusion Frenzy, Perfect Dark, Fallout 3, Banjo-Kazooie). Some games arguably didn't need to be on the list due to being cross-gen (Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Goat Simulator, TWD: Michonne) and some games that could've benefitted from being there are missing (Call of Duty: Classic, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, Halo 2, Angry Birds Trilogy, Battle for Bikini Bottom, UNO (Xbox 360), etc) but overall, a good lineup.

Least Favorites: The inconsistency of Xbox Play Anywhere. Some games make sense why they are not part of the program such as Backwards Compatible games (Psychonauts, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, ES: Morrowind, ES: Oblivion, etc) and some games have separate achievements such as Minecraft (the pc version allows for more customization with importing worlds, resource packs, and custom skins, and it also comes bundled with Java now), but games like Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends, Goat Simulator, Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated, and Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy should have been part of the program. The Prioritization of Game Pass and Digital Games. I have heard that Hi-Fi Rush was a great game. However, because it launched on Game Pass, very few people actually bought a copy. Because of this, the game sold poorly and Microsoft shut the studio down. Microsoft, you wouldn't have had to shut them down if you gave their game a chance to turn a profit. Also, you can't buy Goldeneye 007 separately, only through Game Pass or digital Rare Replay (which now locks you out of buying a copy of Perfect Dark that is usable on 360, the license is tied to RR even though it includes the non-RR version, meaning that since the 360 store is gone, you have to buy physical copies of BK:N&B, Kameo, and PDZ if you want to play them on 360) Keeping the Xbox One around. Microsoft has discontinued the Xbox One, but they are still making games for it. They should leave it be and prioritize making games for Series X. If they aren't big hitters like Halo Infinite or Starfield, sure add Smart Delivery. But please try to make the Series X look like a viable upgrade outside of power.

-Discord is addicting.

I'm not sure if I would say Discord is addicting per se. You could make an argument that changing the notification icon for server posts from a number to just a dot, which scared a lot of my friends in the beginning, as it looks close to the symbol for something recording, makes it so how many you've missed is a mystery. For me, and those who may agree with me, it makes it easier to know when someone is trying to reach out to me or a group role I'm a part of.

-Discord is practically extorting you.

If we had met long ago, when Nitro just came out, I would be completely opposed to this idea. That being said, I don't like their new pricing model for Nitro at all, but I feel obligated to pay for it if I want to share any file with my friends easily, especially if those files are pieces of art or large word documents. Most of their "perks" for the $10/month plan are really stupid, especially the themes, and I simply just don't use them. I really just need the 500 MB upload, longer messages, and using emoji's outside of their servers of origin. You brought up the trend of cars locking physical features behind software paywalls, and I also hate that, but I want to save talking about that for a future day.

-Discord's official clients are awful.

I... can't argue with you there. I use Better Discord because I'm starting to want to decorate my digital spaces to be reflections of my tastes. I have yet to set up backup channels of communications with some of my friends that I, as of now, can only communicate through Discord in the event that Daddy Discord comes for my ass, but I hope to rectify that soon.

-Discord is closed source.

This one I have to disagree with you on. Even though I am a communist, a filthy, filthy commie, I stand by having some things be closed source. We don't necessarily need to know the source code for everything. I don't need to know the source code for my printer's OS or my tablet's driver software. I will say, however, that them constantly changing their API every now and again is a tad silly, especially when one of the communities I'm a part of has a custom bot that breaks when the API changes.

-Discord has horrible privacy.

This is something I know far too well. I would probably be better off if I took my personal Discord server, used a tool to export all those channels into text documents, and then have those text documents on my keychain flashdrive. It would arguably be far more secure that way. We also know that Discord has, in the past, just given information over to the police at the first scent of an investigation; this was probably done in a way to cover their asses. There's also the fact that there was that one Minecraft Discord server that had the massive government document leak on it, so we might see the CEO be questioned by Congress.

-Not trusting tech startups.

This is something I think about from time to time. Not just with tech startups, but websites in general. If you are not paying for something, then you, yourself, are the product that others, in most cases: advertisers, are paying for. We know this is the philosophy for many websites, with a special spotlight on YouTube/Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

-Discord is a walled garden.

I have nothing to argue about. Every time that I have to join a Discord server to get answers, my soul cries out in pain.

With that all being said, Discord is a deeply flawed program that the developers seem to making weirder and worse changes every few months, quarters, or years. In the beginning, and to some extent still, it was a great alternative to Skype. You could have a "server" that acted as an envelope for all of the different chat rooms you and your friends made. Nowadays, however, it feels like a weird mix of forums and I.M. chatrooms. I have extremely conflicting feelings about Discord. I both love it for the ease of communication but also hate it for everything it.

Tumblr and The Old Internet Re-Awakens, An Opinion Essay

This is going to be a super long post about my thoughts on the current state of the internet, with a chunk of what I'm about to say having been stuff I've already said elsewhere on other sites. To save your dash, I'll be putting a READ MORE break.

The fact that Twitter and Reddit have basically been destroyed by their own hubris is both hilarious and sad. It's funny because "ha ha rich man's hubris" but also sad because this is very emblematic of the current direction many social media companies that have been at the top for too long are going.

Ever since the muskrat purchased Twitter, it was clear from the beginning that something seriously wrong had happened, with worse decisions to follow. Something I hadn't realized was just how extensive the ripple effects of this would be. Reddit is now being destroyed by their leader's desire for more and more money, as if they needed any more.

I've been having this conversation with my friends via Discord and with strangers on the Starmen dot net forums. The writing is on the walls. The internet is moving towards a future that caters to advertisers more than its users. If there's even the slightest hint of getting more money by screwing over users, the higher ups of a given site will be chomping at the bit.

Where does that leave us?

Well, with Reddit and Twitter both now in a state of complete and total self-destruction, albeit rather slowly, we have seen an influx of new and returning users. Fantastic! I love when an old place gets new life breathed into it.

That being said, I don't believe that Tumblr is the bastion of The Old Internet, far from it, and many of you would agree.

Instead, I think that the resurgence in Tumblr's popularity could be just the first step towards the return of The Old Internet. We have the power to go back to the days of making our own websites. Information on web design and web programming are available online for free, in addition to many places offering free hosting services for a basic website or blog that don't need many bells or whistles (just don't go to GoDaddy).

Tumblr, in my opinion, once you know how to use the advanced editing tools, can make for a great "Baby's First Web Blog." There are some users on here that have made GORGEOUS blogs that will absolutely blow you away.

What about peer-to-peer communications?

We've seen that Discord has been another victim to the plague that is internet gentrification. They've removed the discriminators for usernames, had a store put in, and so many other little changes that have consistently annoyed the end users.

That being said... Discord is not going to be falling apart anytime soon. It's still a fantastic way to connect with many people at once and have quick access to all your different communities.

However, you could make the case, and I certainly try to, that internet forums fulfill the same thing. It is true that forums for many topics have drifted into the void of internet history, but is that not simply the nature of the internet? Communities sprout up, thrive, have an internal way, break apart, and start anew. We've seen that with many Discord servers, albeit rather small ones.

I will still hold my ground that forums should be revitalized if we truly want to go back to the days of old.

What does the future hold?

I... don't know. Despite my vast horde of opinions, research, and second-hand accounts of what The Old Internet was like and how The Current Internet is becoming, I cannot say for absolute certainty that we will see a total collapse of these tech empires. At the very least, however, I do believe that they will become hollowed shells of their former selves.

I have yet to talk about YouTube and its history, and, to be quite frank with you all, I simply must avoid that topic for now. All I will say is that I implore my fellow content creators, specifically those that create Video On-Demand content for YouTube and TikTok, to look into creating your own websites to host your content in the event that something happens to these empires, too. If you don't have offline copies of your videos, do so when you can.

Hello! I am here to please ask for a crash course on Vault Hunters! I watched HBomb's stream mid season 1, was confused, then I watched Pete's first episode and I was very confused and gave up. But I would love to watch hbomb and pete's streams so understanding vault hunters would be so good. - cat

CRACKS MY KNUCKLES. LADIES AND GENTS THIS IS THE MOMENT YOU'VE WAITED FOR.

vault hunters is an smp created by iskall hermitcraft<3 and his dev team! vault hunters is a custom mod pack including several custom mods as well as mods you may recognize if you've been into the mcyt/minecraft mod scene for a while (mechanism, biomes o'plenty, create, etc)

the goal of vault hunters is to collect a certain number of unique artifacts- last season it was 16, this season it's 25. artifacts are a rare drop that you get from killing a boss at the end of a vault. a vault is a custom dimension that creates a randomly generated labyrinth that the player has to go through. the vaults have chests/loot, multiple rare ores, and monsters protecting them. when a vault is created, it spawns about 10 obelisks total (grey pillars in the middle of the room), and a player has to find anywhere between 3 to 6 of them to spawn the boss and defeat it. once you enter a vault, if you die you lose everything you have on you with no chance of recovering it, and the only way to escape is to kill the boss or to leave the way you came through the portal (but sometimes the vaults are locked and you CANT leave)

the vault custom mods create lots of custom items to help with the vaults, such as more powerful magical apples (they can give haste, complete immunity to all damage, a higher chance of deflecting damage, and even more luck!), vault gear (which is the armor that everyone wears- its custom textures, and its stronger than vanilla OR modded armor. it can also "level" and get attributes that make it stronger, such as more armor, more durability, and special modifications like slow falling or resistance), and other miscellaneous things to help the hunters.

the vault custom mods also generates rare ores that are vault gems. these gems glow brightly, and each hunter has one named after them (in season one, hbomb and antonio ash didn't have gems named after them, but rendog did, even after he dropped out and was unable to keep playing <3). these rare gems are important to create many of the custom vault items, AND because many modded recipes have been altered to be more expensive and to include these rare gems.

mods are locked behind research as well, so a player has to save up "knowledge points" (a very rare and expensive item) in order to be able to use certain mods, which means that some players can do things that others cant with certain mods. certain items from mods you may recognize may have been removed, or made more expensive with custom ingredients so the player is forced to work and save up to get powerful items.

there is also the concept of leveling- vault hunters is a viewer interaction based game. every time a viewer supports their streamer with a sub, a resub, bits of any amount, a sub gift of any amount, or a donation, this triggers an amount of leveling to the in game level counter. the larger the contribution, the larger the level up. after a certain amount of support, the player reaches a new skill level. every skill level increase, the vaults become harder (the mobs will receive more armor, better weapons, and more difficult mobs like skeletons and vindicators are added to the spawn pool) and the player receives a "skill point" they can use to unlock certain attributes to help in the vault, such as more hearts, permanent strength increases, permanent luck increases, and other miscellaneous helpful things.

(IMPORTANT: YOU CAN STILL AFFECT LEVELING WITHOUT MONEY! no this isn't a plug for twitch prime. saving up channel points to redeem a relic booster pack will help the player level up AND get items! its a two for one! pay your taxes!)

these are the core aspects of vault hunters, imo- everything else that can seem complicated stems from the concepts of running vaults, the mods that are installed, the mods that have been altered, and the reason viewer interaction is important. vault hunters is also on a time limit- there are only a few months in order to get all of the artifacts! thats why pete and hbomb stream it basically every day (especially pete, since he joined a month late to the smp... also because its a really fun game lmao)

iskall's dev team and iskall himself worked really hard on vault hunters, and it's genuinely my favorite smp/source of mcyt content. if you ever have a question dm me i will literally give you my discord and i will infodump at you for as long as you will let me.

tldr; the point of vault hunters is to run custom dungeons in order to fight bosses and get lots of shiny loot in order to do it over and over again, so they can collect all of the rare artifacts and win the game. its very good you should watch it.

-Because he feels bad he allowed you to watch it in the first place

-Ah yes, the most effective method of waking up the entire House of Lamentation at 3:00 am

-Mammon screaming his own vocal cords out in his room as he tries to get through his human’s favourite horror movie without dying of a heart attack

Okay the title is a joke, but another day another "drama", although this is the dumbest one to date as it really shouldn't be a 'drama' but it is. Recently there has been a lot of people willingly spreading "dox" information that is claimed to be about me or my family. I think this is disgusting and harmful and should never be done in any capacity. Spreading potential information about someone's family is horrible, and not to mention is against basically every single sites terms of service. I've seen commentary channels show full names and addresses under the guise of "it's news" which again is just disgusting and those people should be publicly shamed and reported for even thinking about doing something like that. I've had people spread fake pictures of me, whether they be photoshopped to be with people 'close to me' like Sapnap (as if we've taken even a single photo) or deliberately planned in a way to appear as believable as possible. Including saying things like "they were found on his moms/dads facebook" when neither of my parents even have facebook and that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, as if I wouldn't tell my parents to remove pictures of me. Things like using a photo of Karl facetiming me he posted to say "look how big he is!" when the photo is literally just another photo of Karl that we photoshopped, which is extra funny. Obviously no one is going to or can fact check these things so it's just touted as fact regardless of how ridiculous it sounds. This started a long time ago and I made a pastebin about it, as it was something being perpetuated along with lots of horrible things by someone who used to be close with me. I don't want to bring it up again, as that was months ago and I don't want unnecessary attention on it. The people saying these things are people with ill intentions with the purpose of "forcing me to face reveal" to prove I'm not 'ugly', as there's 'no other way'. They're the same people who have attempted to harass my family and friends for months because of how "manipulative and horrible" I am for "cheating in a block game". Spreading things about me having "kids locked up in my basement", which is disgusting for a million reasons, and it's Florida they're not even smart enough to realize no one has basements. Or other things about "wishing I'm a pedo" which is equally as disgusting. On another note, as someone who has gone through weight problems in their life (I was a homeschooled gamer, no surprise there), I think it's disgusting to see people fatshame and ridicule a random person just because they "could be Dream!!". I've been fairly open about the fact that I eat fairly specific and healthy things, and the reason for that is because I sit inside doing nothing 99% of the time. I've been like that for a few years. I would be incredibly unhealthy if I wasn't strict with my diet. Sapnap dropped 70 pounds in a couple months after moving in with me because he started eating healthy food and being a skater boi (lmao). (He gave me permission to say that, and good for him he looks fucking amazing and did before as well). I don't think that anyone should be ridiculed for their looks, and anyone that does that is a piece of shit human being. I will say that it's pretty funny seeing people who hate me spread these things and get more and more frustrated as people who watch me don't give a flying fuck, I play Minecraft with my friends, not model on playboy. Also, all the creators saying "dream's fan base is so horrible for doing this", get your facts straight before you look like an absolute idiot. I haven't seen a single fan of mine spread or even give the time of day to any of the bs. It's only people who despise me and think it's some kind of win to say "dream might be fat! LOL!". Felt the need to defend my fans completely on that front. I'm not going to let anyone "force me into doing a face reveal", especially not by expecting me to be offended by being compared to a guy that is bigger than me. At the end of the day, who the hell cares? I've been "fat" at certain points in my life, who gives a shit? I've said for a very long time that I plan to do a face reveal at a meet and greet type of event, something I've said for over a year, and something that hasn't been possible due to covid.
