Exploring the Depths of Obedience: Milgram’s Experiment and Our Modern Predicaments #Aremuorin #MilgramExperiment #ConformOrQuestion
Written by Aremuorin / Contact / Mailing List / Linktree / Latest Post  – Let’s Connect !!! In the annals of social psychology, few experiments have captured the troubling essence of human behavior quite like the Milgram Experiment. Conducted by Stanley Milgram in the early 1960s, it stripped the veneer of moral certainty to reveal a startling, often uncomfortable truth: under the right…

Psychology of Defiance
youtube
If you are not already familiar with the social experiments of one Stanley Milgram, I highly encourage you to check out some of his scientific findings regarding humanity’s social & psychological condition.
The research accomplished through the Milgram experiment had found a rare minority of people actually applied conscious effort and stopped giving electric-shock to a second “participant” of the experiment (later to be revealed as an actor). When asked to do so by Milgram and his team, only a handful of people actually became defiant to the instructions.
What’s most alarming (and just as fascinating) about the experiment was just how many people had willingly applied electric shock to another person simply due to their complicity & obedience to an “authority” (in this case Milgram and his team). More people kept shocking than not (believe it or not).
The fact of the matter is: The Nazis, too, were “just following orders” even when they commited one of the greatest sins of humanity and it was due to their obedience & complicity as well. Milgram’s scientific findings begs the question on just how far human beings are willing to go if given the impression that any disobedience shall be consequential (even at the expense of another human being’s livelihood). It makes ya think about the Jewish people in World War 2 that put their own in the oven rather than fight - complicit & obedient to prevent their own consequence. ...Like the police officers who stand by knowing their fellow officers are commiting crimes on innocent American citizens - for an unGodly quota (or their own sick reasons)... very well like the Christian Klans member who goes around to his God-loving brothers & sisters and commits the unGodly act of burning a cross in the yard of his fellow Christian man & woman & children simply because their skin color is different. ...it’s the Politician who depends on the same people that he condemns and wishes to conquer all (just to continously worship himself)...it’s a variety of mindless evil one must consider when dealing with humanity’s real social struggle and the overwhelming obstacles to overcome on a greater scale.
I hope this one droplet of knowledge can help shape the ocean of conscious effort to eliminate evil through civil defiance. God knows I find comfort in knowing there are people who certainly would refuse to hurt another innocent human being regardless of outcome.✝️💖🤝

People of Color within The United States of America are the best example of the failure of “The Milgram experiment on obedience to authority figures” ...the world hears and sees us, but who will stop the trauma? #MilgramExperiment #FixTheSystem https://www.instagram.com/p/CNMdVzJhmUX/?igshid=1a734iqfjap9b

How far would you go to obey an authority figure? Would you go against your values and morality? This classic psychology but highly controversial study suggests that many of us would. This experiment was done back in the 1960s but would not be allowed to go ahead now due to the obvious ethical problems. Check it out! I would love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments! #psychologyfacts #psychologyresearch #psychology #funfacts #psychologist #therapist #humanbehaviour #understandingpeople #learnoninstagram #funfacts #psychologyexperiment #milgramexperiment #psychologytest #stanleymilgram #milgramexperiments #drjuliesmith #doctorsofinstagram #psychologistsofinstagram (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDrXV1njCHu/?igshid=djxnqard1b0l

The Role of Authority
The Role of Authority
My wife Verna and I visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in southern Poland this year. This was the notorious Nazi death camp in WW2. At its height in 1944, it killed 12,000 people a day, most of whom were Jews deported from Hungary. There were also political prisoners, Gypsies, resistance fighters and others that didn’t fit in with the “master plan”.
Less than 10% of the 4,000 or so SS personnel…

Stanley Milgram's obedience Experiments
Stanley Milgram’s obedience Experiments
milgramexperiment-ethics.html.and read the ethics of the milgram study. How do the ethical dilemmas in the research compare with the ethical issues raised by Stanley Milgram’s obedience Experiments ?. Would it be better if these studies had never been done?. Why ? What would we have lost? Gained?  http://www.prisonexp.org/
