Brendan: I remember getting the script and being like "Oh shit." I don’t know if - the great journal of Majandra will probably tell us - we were just beginning to date? Were we officially boyfriend and girlfriend? I’m unclear. Majandra: So if we take it to the book, you know, I have found the corresponding, I have seen, ok, this is amazing, it says “I have read the new script, and it is so sexual between Brendan and I that it freaks me out." Then it just gets in to a whole thing of like “Oh I hope I don’t like this person because basically we’re doing a whole lot of making out”. I was hoping my feelings for you were genuine and not just- Brendan: And not influenced by kind of outside sources.

sure candy has chemistry but to say their chemistry is insane clearly haven’t payed attention to when isabel shows her face.

when it comes down to it, isabel is the third person in michael and maria’s relationship.

examples:

- michael breaking up with maria because he thought isabel was pregnant and all that mattered was isabel and the baby

- maria: “why cause you’re destined to be with isabel?”

- isabel getting maria’s gift for michael, saving their relationship + christmas

- courtney: “well he wouldn’t make a cake for just anyone” — maria: “it’s not my birthday”

he wasn’t loyal to maria — courtney, his friends, alien shenanigans, etc..

people would say that his behavior was because he was too scared and loved her too much, but he would drop everything when it came to isabel.

of course michael and maria had cute moments, but they aren’t this “number one couple” people see them as.

i’m not saying brendan and majandra’s chemistry was bad, it wasn’t. but the show seemed to stem that chemistry into a relationship that sort of seemed forced at times.

and by all means, i love michael and maria. their scenes together are great and hilarious and they would be good couple regardless, if not for isabel.

if maria wasn’t in the picture, michael and isabel would be together and vice versa. however, michael and maria are together, and it just doesn’t make sense with how complicated it gets when isabel comes in.

my biggest peeve is the random “i want you to see me” speech michael gave in the season 2 finale. like where did that even come from?

of course, this all comes down to the fact that the fans complained so they had to dwindle michael and isabel (by also never giving closure to their storyline). yet, still sprinkling in some on and off that would make you wonder when it came to michael and maria and their relationship.

and just to point out, in a season 2 commentary, during the scene when the girls were dancing and the boys were watching, even a producer said, not only was michael looking at maria but also isabel.

BRENDAN: I will say this, rewatching the episode I was furious again. When you catch me at Courtney’s house- MAJANDRA: Oh god, the temple. BRENDAN: UH! You are supposed to, I figured, slap me across the face. That’s how I imagined it, right? You’re outraged as a teenager, you catch your boyfriend kissing someone else, it’s a slap across the face. MAJANDRA: Because you do admit that that’s wrong. Correct? BRENDAN: What you saw. It was an investigation. There’s things that need to be done, there’s sacrifices that need to be made. MAJANDRA: So irl, in real life, is that why you were doing that with all the older ladies? Was it for an investigation? BRENDAN: I investigated- MAJANDRA: -my sexuality. BRENDAN: -my own soul and MAJANDRA: -my options. BRENDAN: I have no idea. MAJANDRA: Anyway, yes. You thought I was gonna slap you. I was trying to save the face, you know? Don’t hurt the- BRENDAN: And she hits me- Well, I think it was two fold. You hit me in the temple, like, the head. Right? Like, rang my brain around a little bit, even though it wasn’t that hard, but unexpected. And then I think a little bit of my rage and anger was you touched the hair. MAJANDRA: That is a very good point. Ooh. Yeah. BRENDAN: I thought you knew better. I thought that was something we actually were good on. That was the solid part of your acknowledgement of that support. MAJANDRA: Right, right. Just so the listeners at home can feel in the know, Brendan does not let anyone touch his hair. He can be making sweet love to Wayne Gretzky- BRENDAN: I’m not sure I could keep my hands off his flow, cuz I’m gonna take ’87 Gretz. MAJANDRA: Yeah, but the other way around? Mm-mm. BRENDAN: But yeah, I do not like my hair touched by anyone.

Maria strained her neck up so she could look him in the eyes; Michael was a head taller than her. She smiled while their gaze met. "Well, what about me? Do you think I'm a piece of cake to work with?" she asked. At the offer, she wrinkled her nose. Now that she mentioned cake, she wanted cake. "Can we get some cake, too?"

She brushed the rest of the tears away and took a shaky breath. There was no way she’d cry - not here, not now. Crying had a time and place, but not right this second. Right now, stoniness seemed a better route.  Worse things could happen. Breaking down with something minor would never help in survival mode. When Michael pulled her close, a gasp escapes her lips. That was unexpected. They’d never been this close. “I don’t expect anything from you, Space Boy,” she whispered. “Just that you let me in. Someone’s got to have your back. Let me have your back.” 

pulling back to get a look at her, michael shows pursed lips. “you sure? i’m told i’m a lot to handle.” she’s a lot to handle. another short sigh, he scratches his brow. reluctant to give a definitive answer. nothing about anything is simple anymore. the trio has to be cautious about every single move they make. it’s a lot to share with someone. he nods his head in lieu of a gesture. “buy you a milkshake or something?”

Please tell me someone has seen 1999 version of Roswell (Obviously this is the best version hands down). I grew up watching this show with my mom and brother. Honestly I’m soooooooooo down to write some fics. Single, platonic or ships 😂😂😂
