When the two people in the Entity's realm are left to brave the elements with just shorts, how will they choose to warm up? It might not be as easy as you think sitting by the campfire.
A festive Trickster gives in and moves closer to the campfire where he meets a semi-festive Yoichi alone. This is where a test of resolve is given. The brilliant Marine Biologist is left baffled, flustered, and mildly annoyed at the K-pop Idol's antics... and just a bit charmed. The two may just inevitably end up closer than expected.

Bastien belongs to @hel-phoenyx , warning of some suggestive content (nothing NSFW happens) and past violence
Virgil is not known for wearing few clothes on him at... Any time, really. Look under a shirt and you'll find a black turtleneck. A sweater has two long-sleeved shirts underneath. Dont ever think you'll ever see him in anything close to a short.
But in the comfort of his own home, this is one of the only places where he'll allow himself to collapse from the heat of the japanese summer. He grew up far from any kind of heat similar to that one, and it's a miracle he never fainted from heatstroke yet. But here he is, sprawled out on his bed in a tank top and leggings, the closest to naked he feels he feels comfortable in.
The fan is on, and he has plenty of water next to him as the sound of the door opening signifies the return of his boyfriend of years to their shared appartment.
"Virg' ?" The keys make a noise when they're put on the counter, and the blue haired man awnsers.
"Bedroom."
A laugh, and in just a few seconds Bastien is in the room too, taking off his shoes to get on the bed next to his boyfriend. Boyfriend who quickly decides to abandon some of the comfort of the bed to himself to instead get Bastien into his arms. He's not clingy, to say. If anything, he's tired, and maybe Bastien's too hot – in more ways than one – for him right now, but he'll accept it for the comforting rythm of his heatbeat against his ear.
It's not even mentionned, an habit by now. If Virgil wants cuddles, he'll get them. And Bastien rarely objects to that idea. They just get on the bed, Virgil on top with his ear to Bastien's chest with the fan directly to them to try and manage some of the heat. Bastien's hand finds itself on top of the other's head, softly brushing through his hair, most of it tied up in a loose ponytail, the usual style.
It quickly gets lost, tho, as his fingers find themselves softly brushing against Virgil's neck, light enough to barely tickle the other as the scar of a bite is felt on the side of his neck. Most people would assume it's a vampire bite, considering Virgil's past as a vampire hunter. But he had always been clear enough that a simple bite would turn anyone into a vampire, especially if bitten at the neck.
"Hey. Tell me if you dont wanna talk about it." A wordless anwser is all Virgil gives to him, eyes closed. "You never told me how you got your scars."
"You're curious now ?" it's a little groggy, his voice lower from lack of using.
"Was I supposed to be before ? I never saw most of them until we were litterally having sex together ! And even I knew it was a bit of a turn-off to ask someone about their scars during sex."
There's a laugh, small and soft, as Virgil slowly rises from his chest to get face to face. There's the faint mark of Bastien's shirt on his cheek, and his eyes are half closed. His weight shifts on top of Bastien, the dead weight slowly distributed in a way to avoid hurting him too much.
He's always pretty, but right now he's beautiful. That's not fair.
"I'm just surprised you only ask now. But okay. Which one are you curious about ?"
"Well, your neck one, for starters." His fingers go once again to the bite, tracing faint marks of teeth. He doesn't comment on how he feels Virgil's pulse skip a beat under his hand.
"If it can make you feel better, it's not a vampire's bite. I was fifteen, my neighboors had just gotten a dog. A small puppy, really, very sweet with everyone. Except me, because it went for my neck."
"Animals hate you that much uh."
Virgil shrugs, smile turning mischevious "It's a good workout, to run from Dog Master's dogs during sport's class."
They both laugh. It never happened, thankfully, the sport's teacher knowing his dogs better than to let them run after the students, but it is still a funny though to have.
Their foreheads are touching, one of Bastien's hand still on his boyfriend's neck, the other resting at the bottom of his spine. They share a soft kiss, and Bastien's left hand leaves Virgil's back to find his right cheek. The skin is raised by three claw marks here, things that would make him ugly to most people probably.
"Those ones ?" He doesn't care to raise how light his voice feels. Not when Virgil still has his eyes closed and their lips are so close.
"First hunt, I was fourteen I think." He presses his face into the warm palm, a kiss finding its way against his skin here. "Got too close to the vampire, thankfully it was only its claws, and I killed it before it got the chance to try again. Almost lost my eye, apparently."
"More like it's a miracle you didn't."
Virgil shrugs, and returns to kissing Bastien's skin, his hand holding his boyfriend's wrist in place. He doesn't have his prosthetic arm on, today, probably because the material to wear it correctly is too hot once he's home.
Bastien's hand on his neck goes lower, barely-there touch on the firm muscles of his shoulders, finding itself on his arm next. He stops maybe higher than Virgil would let him, his hand just barely under his elbow, far from the... "Scar" that was the stump of his once-here arm.
Bastien doesn't like thinking about it. Thinking about how he looked before, and how Virgil acted like the loss of an arm was nothing to worry about.
"You never told me either."
"I never though you'd like to hear it." He's not wrong and they both know it. "I told you it was necessary."
"How ?"
"... A vampire bit my hand. I was with two others. I just got lucky I looked good to it, I guess. But yea, it was that or becoming a vampire." There's a blush, growing on Virgil's face, barely there but noticable enough. "I had to get back home."
"Home, uh." Virgil hasn't called anywhere in Romania "Home" since 2023, a year before he lost his arm, and they both knew it. Still, Bastien didn't press. "At least you got a cool prosthetic out of it."
"At least yea."
There's silence for a bit, before Virgil's lips find Bastien's once again. A press, a silent reminder.
Their bodies move around slightly, ajust a bit to the weird position they ended up in, before they both sit up. Bastien's back is against the bed top's, and Virgil is sat firmly on his lap, his head finding its place on Bastien's shoulder.
Virgil's arms and hand find their way back around Bastien's waist easily, but Bastien's hesitate for a second before one getting back on Virgil's head, and the other softly tracing a pale mark on his right biceps.
It's one that he sees way less than the others. Virgil usually wears something that hides at least the upper half of his arms, not letting people know too much about him. Yet he sighs in contempt when Bastien's fingers trace the skin.
"What's the story ?"
"Summer break 2024. I guess I wasn't used to my arm for fighting yet, because a vampire managed to scratch me."
"That's a bit big for a "scratch"."
"Next to my other arm ? Not really." They laugh again, before Virgil presses a kiss to Bastien's pulse point. "It's just a scratch, and it healed quickly."
"Mmmmh..." It's distracting, to have your boyfriend kiss your neck like that, but Bastien manage, his hand falling on top of the tank top. It's an approximation, not exactly where Virgil's biggest scar is, but it's close enough. "And that one ?"
"Surprise attack while going back to the village. An adult killed the vampire, and the other carried me back to get patched up."
"How old were you ?"
"Seventeen, I think."
There's a second, and another were nothing happens. Then, without a word, Bastien's hand goes under the shirt, putting itself on top of the large scar that would kill most people. But not Virgil. Virgil was stronger than anyone Bastien knew, had seen worse than most. It wouldn't be something like that that would kill him easily.
Virgil says something in romanian, almost soft enough that Bastien thinks he imagined it. But he heard that word more than once from Virgil, and even if he doesn't know what it means, he also knows he's the only one that gets to hear it. Bastien's hand moves to the center of his back, bringing him closer to his own body, enough for another soft sound from Virgil. There's a light nip at his neck, and Bastien feels the heat rises some more.
"It's... Impressive."
"Yea, that's what the nurse said too. But I heal fast, you know me."
"Yea I saw you stop bleeding in seconds when Kate punched your nose in your second year."
"I deserved that one." He laughs a bit, his classmate always quick to get physical. "Anyways, I think that's my last vampire-related scar."
"Really ?" Bastien keeps his hand on Virgil's side, but the one on his arm goes to rest on his legs. "What about those ?"
"... Do you want me to get rid of my pants so you can show me which ones ?"
Bastien feels his face heat up. There's nothing sexual about it, really, Virgil can be a tease but it would be in a more physical way. Like how he's slowly moving his hand up and down Bastien's spine like it's nothing.
He nods anyway, and for a few instants Virgil gets off of him. For a few seconds, they both miss the warmth of the other despite the heat, but in just a few mouvements, Virgil is in his boxers and back on Bastien's lap. His scars are free to be seen. Bastien's hand fall on the one on his left shin, a thin line that goes around his whole leg horizontally.
"Oh that's the oldest one, I think." Virgil puts his head back on Bastien's shoulder, not caring about the risk of his hair getting stuck in the piercings on his lover's mouth. "I was like... Eight or nine. Got stuck in a trap, not far from the village."
"Sounds painful."
"Could be worse. I was lucky a hunter heard me cry."
"What, Virgil Vânator ? Crying ?" He gets showed a little, laugh filling the room.
"I'm going to bite you if you continue."
"Oh nooo, what a night- Hey !" Virgil laughs once more, pressing a sweet kiss to the skin he just bit. "And I was the vampire out of us ?!"
"You asked for it."
Bastien pinches right above the scar, but it only makes him giggle more. He rolls his eyes before moving around a bit, dragging Virgil with him to sit just slightly straighter.
Virgil presses another kiss on the pink mark, something that Bastien will struggle to hide in that heat in the coming days. His hand goes to rest on Virgil's other shin, tracing a scar with visible stitching on it.
"What's that one ?"
"Some kid cut me deep during training, when I was 16. He probably though that since I was the oldest and... You know, "a girl", it would be funny to strike me from behind."
"Urg. Kids."
"I agree." A soft laugh. "He cut deep too, I didn't walk for a while because it hurt to even put weight on my leg."
"I can figure that out yea." The hand on the sutured scar goes higher, from the back of his shin to the front of his thigh. A scar he kissed more than once before but never asked about. "That's the last one yea ?"
"Mmmh..." Virgil kisses him, brings his hand from his spine to his cheek and brushes his thumb under his eye. "Training too. Just a sword a bit too close for comfort."
"Why would you train with real swords ?"
"To get used to the weight." He kisses him again, softly. "Anyways, now you know them all."
"And you ?" Virgil just tilts his head slightly, and Bastien starts again. "And you, don't you want to know about mine ?"
"Do you want to tell me about them ?" There's only silence, and Virgil kisses him again, speaks against his lips. "Then dont tell me."
"You're..." Adorable. Sweet. So kind. The best boyfriend I could ever dream of. "So annoying."
"I know." They both smile, and they kiss again. "Now, can you put your hands back under my shirt ? They're cold and I'm overheating."
"You could also stop cuddling me."
"No."
Bastien laughs, and he goes to put his hands on the small of Virgil's back, holding him closer to him. The hand on Bastien's cheek goes to hold his shirt, as Virgil's head goes back to his chest.

Spencer Reid A-Z Masterlist
these are written as a story with each letter being a new chapter. I recommend reading in chronological order for story purposes, but these could also work as one shots.
unless explicitly stated, all my fics ignore anything related to jeid, and in my universe, maeve simply does not exist. i do like the idea that spencer and ethan may have had a romance in college
the following events are removed from canon: anything related to a jeid romance, maeve (i just can't have reader and spencer break up for her character to have her moment)
the following events are what i believe to have happened before this timeline began: spencer and ethan had a small (non-sexual) romance in college which is the real reason why they hadn't spoken in years, spencer is a virgin, lila archer events did occur, however i do not believe he had real feelings for her, he was just doing his job (i do think he enjoyed the kiss though, because who wouldn't)
I’ve put them in a timeline and they are further categorized by emojis

so since I've now posted all of my @yearoftheotpevent fics, I figured I'd make one compilation post of them. here's my year of nivannedy!
January: good to be prepared
Leon gets stuck in a snow storm when his car breaks down, and a handsome stranger saves him from the roadside. Of course they hit it off, but only later they realize they actually do know of each other.
February: 'cause you know the love we have is always gonna be
Finally Piers and Leon get married, surrounded by their loved ones, in their very own home. It's been a long road, they've deserved their happy ending.
March: at the shore of the unknown
The end of the world comes quietly, almost secretly, despite them fighting it all these years. But even if the world is ending, Leon and Piers find each other, and their story is only beginning.
April: I crave therefore I am
Piers has been half in love with Leon for as long as he can remember, but no matter how much he's pining, he's not going to be the kind of a dick who tries to come between Leon's current relationship. Except that relationship is not exactly as real as he's been lead to believe.
May: as long as you'll have me
Leon gets infected on a mission, and although there is a known cure, the cure fucking sucks. At least, after Leon alarms him with a few incoherent texts, Piers is there to help him through the worst of it.
June: you're a dream
Piers has been dreaming of his soulmate ever since he was eleven years old, and not even the continuous stream of monsters can keep him from finding whoever that is. Of course, nothing in life can ever be that simple.
July: that heaven in your eyes
Piers and Leon have some honeymoon fun by the lake. It's exactly what they wanted.
August: light in the darkest place
Leon and Piers grew up together, and when at twenty-one they both got a job at the RPD they thought it was a giant stroke of luck. They had no idea their first day was going to be one hell of a long day.
September: all the tears and the fears and the lies and the cries of the past
Krauser kidnaps Leon on Wesker’s orders to use as bait. Things get messy.
October: before I even knew your name
Leon gets an accidental text sent into the wrong number and it ends up changing his life for the better. They might both suck at flirting, especially through text, but that doesn't matter when inexplicably they're still into each other.
November: right from the start
Leon gets some unexpected backup on his rogue mission in the Eastern Slav Republic. Later, he might just have to thank Chris for sending Piers in. Especially as he learns he and Piers work together well in more ways than one.
December: a merry little christmas (make the yuletide gay)
Piers and Leon and their first holidays as a married couple in their own home. Of course with a visit from the Redfields.
I am both incredibly content that I managed to write something for all of the months (even though two of these fics are still technically unfinished, for the Damnation au I haven't posted the last chapter and for the RE2 au I still need to write the rest of it) and really really happy with how they turned out :3
#nivannedy#me and my fics#my fics#my nivannedy fics#i'm gonna make another compilation#of ALL the fic i wrote this year#but i figured these deserved their own post :3

Didn't Wanna Feel Older in 2024? TOO LATE!
So long, 2023! You have been a weird-@$$ year to say the least. Between by having to repair old thumb drives, purchase a new printer, finding out I'm susceptible to anxiety attacks, trying out dating for the first time, getting my Discord and Steam account hacked, starting a new Discord server since said account was never unhacked, opened myself up to commissions, managed to post art for Halloween, got Covid, summoned more Kaijus to play an elaborate game of poker, and had a merry enough Christmas. Here's hoping 2024 will prove better. At the moment I have no new goals, since I just want to relax after four months of constantly being active. There's a mile of books, movies, and TV shows I need to get caught up on! My opinions on all of them will be given in future Giraffe's Eye Views, but for now let's get to what you all came here for: yet another unnecessarily long list of things celebrating major milestones this year!
You all loved it when I did this last year. In fact it got more attention that anything else I posted, including the original art I put way more effort and time into. Nah, that didn't sting at all. Seeing my sketches get ignored is so much fun. Passive-aggressive joking aside, I do still love making these lists, so let's get started with some major stuff this year.
Thanksgiving wasn't too long ago, so why not mention that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 100 this year? I know, that's insane! Watching this festive event has become a seasonal staple in my house and is the only reason I've ever signed up for Peacock. Thank goodness in all those years it hasn't been smashed by a giant monster.
Godzilla turns 70 freak'n years old this year! How crazy insane is that? Here's hoping his old age won't slow him down when he teams up with King Kong this April. Even if it does, Gojira will continue being cinema's coolest character!
Contrasting with the King of the Monsters, Mary Poppins turns 60 years old this year. This movie, considered to be Walt's last masterpiece, has aged considerably well even after all this time.
Oh yeah, and Mickey Mouse enters the public domain this year. Still not entirely sure how that works, but whatever. What I do know is...

Happy new year! Here’s what some whalers were thinking about on this day past.
William Abbe, Atkins Adams, 1859
During our middle night watch the new year came in the man at the wheel struck one bell at 12 o clock - when M + I had a little aquadiente + switchel — We furled the M t. g. sl, M. Sh. + I going aloft to do it — + stowed the f.j. saw a large ship just abeam faintly defined against the sky in the night gloom — Had roast pork for dinner but not enough hardly for one man — Old woman sent me 5 cigars as a New Years present. Cap this morning asked the Mate + 3rd Mate down to the Cabin — saw them spit out quids and clean their mouths — very suspicious + extraordinary circumstance this. I think they went down to Splice Main Brace — especially as immediately afterwards the cabin boy carried down a pitcher of water. What are the dear friends at home doing to day? Very pleasantly—I hope—celebrating the infant year with due festivities — I smoke my cigar and content myself with this degree of jubilee.
Charles Brown, Parker, 1834
“We thus see the beginning of the year who may see the End we know not. I wish for helth and Prosperity [hain?] wish I know not what is most propper for me to have but the giver of all noeth and therefore I shal have whatever is most Propper”
William Stetson, Arab, 1856.
“The old year has now been swallowed up in the unfathomable vortex of the past, another year of promise has pleasantly dawned upon us, and another week has passed away as quietly as its immediate predecessor. But little cruising about on shore has been done by any of us.”
J.T. Langdon St. Peter 1851
“This year we have taken 13 whales which stowed us 430 bbls Have spoken 11 Barques and 1 ship and have been gamming 18 times. Have lost 1 man by drowning and 1 discharged on account of sickness. The health of the crew has been generally good. So far myself I have not been sick a single day. Another year has drawn to its close and still we are preserved from danger + sickness and are all fondly hoping that before another year rolls around we shall be enjoying ourselves at home”
Silliman Ives, Sunbeam, 1870
“The old year is numbered among the things that were, the death knell has been rung and today the joy bells are pealing for the birth of 1870. But peal they ever so joyfully, the music of their merry chiming is unheard by us, as we hold on the “even tenor of our way” down here in the Malay Archipelago. It is a sad fact that there are no holidays for sailors. One day is not regarded above another on ship-board, and we wear away the weary weeks of our treadmill existence with but little to break the dull monotony of the recurring days, as they bring to us the same round of duty and discipline. If the Almanac were not referred to, we would never know that there was such a day as the “glorious” Forth of July. The day supposed to be observed by our friends at home as Thanksigiving, is never noticed at sea. Christmas, the dearest and best of all festival seasons, is utterly and entirely ignored. And so far as specially observing New Years, it might just as well be June 1st as January 1st.”
Allen Newman (and his wife Abby Newman), Edward, 1849
Newman’s sick. I would give all my old shoes to trade situations with the poorest Devel I can think of I am home sick, sea sick, and love sick, and sick of the sea without A remedy. There is no Balm for healing heare. [it appears Abby was annotating this old logbook of his a year later while he was away again at sea, penning her own entries in response to his] O dear what A [Time?] A nobody see it of all kind of sickness home sick is the worst Abby P. Newman
William H. Chappell, Saratoga, 1855
“150 days out. Ten years ago I hardly daired to think of seeing this year but God has ordained it I do not know why. Perhaps there is a work for me to do and I must do it “by the patience of hope and and the labor of Love” that I may be able to say at His coming “I have fought my way through I have finished the work thou didst give me to do” I am glad to hear others make becoming resolutions for the New year and I should not do my Wife justice if I did not think she had formed some before this time and I wish them all a happy New Year. One year from this we should be half way home and our feelings will contrast wonderfully with those of the present time.”
Samuel Wood, Bowditch, 1852
“2 sail in Sight to the Westward the weather is fine nothing doing but comon ship duty Easy times & a hapy new year with uss + a hearty wish & a good kiss to all the mery girls of the American Stars & Stripes that floats in the breeze at our mast heads.”
Keeper Unknown, Bartholomew Gosnold, 1843
“The old year is past and gone and A new one has begun, and yet we are blessed with the comforts of this wourld, for as the sun in all her splendor rises above the towering hills of Owhyhee, sends forth her rays, in that fullness of a devine being, as though it were the first of her appearance on this our globe, non yet altering her cours, but with all her celetial power, still pursues her way along in an uninterupted state, what wonders power does she display.”

wednesday 100 x hobie brown
author's notes: christmas in july june! randomly thought about the trans-siberian orchestra this morning and needed an idea for today's #wednesday100 so here we are. idk why, but i feel like hobie would enjoy seeing them in concert. probably would be the only genre of christmas music he'd ever listen to. if you're looking for the specific inspiration i had for this, here's the youtube link to the performance.
credits & dedications: gif by: @kratosfan6632466 challenge by: @100wednesday banner and divider by: me
despite your initial excitement for scoring tickets to see the trans-siberian ocrhestra, you weren't entirely sure how well your holiday gift to hobie was going to be received. the first time christmas was brought up, he called it "pagan-coded capitalistic propaganda," but the anxiety that knotted your stomach was worth it the second you saw his posture perk up as the first guitar riff shredded over the string section's beginning chords, the drums crashing into attention.
leaning in, you wrapped your arms around his waist.
"merry christmas?" you asked.
his lips pulled into a smirk before he replied, " 'appy christmas."

#25 Summation, reflections and plans for 2024
Now that the calendar is over I want to wrap things up with some thoughts and facts about of what have been and what is coming.
The calendar
In this calendar I've written about 24 series that have meant something to me through my life. There are other series I might actually like more than some of them today, but they've all changed how I see things or how I feel about a certain subject. I started of with M*A*S*H, which will always be my all time favourite and which came into my life early. I ended with Julie and the Phantoms, which just recently came into my life and about which I still have a lot to learn. Some posts almost wrote themselves, while others needed some rewatches and reminiscing.
Here are all the posts:
#1 M*A*SH
#2 The Big Bang Theory
#3 Gilmore Girls
#4 Sex and the city
#5 Oc
#6 How I met your mother
#7 New Girl
#8 Please like me
#9 Modern family
#10 Glee
#11 Gossip Girl (2007)
#12 Miss Fisher's murder mysteries
#13 Tales of the city (2019)
#14 Hollywood
#15 Grace and Frankie
#16 Bridgerton
#17 Young Royals
#18 Emily in Paris
#19 Find me in Paris
#20 Sex Education
#21 Ginny and Georgia
#22 Heartstopper
#23 Xo Kitty
#24 Julie and the Phantoms
Other series/movies that were recommended in posts
Never have Iever, Angus, thongs and perfect snogging, Anne with an E, Queen Charlotte - a Bridgerton story, Younger, Girls, Skam, Élite, Skins, Atypical, Pose, A secret love, Boys in the band, Minx, Tales of the City (1993), More Tales of the City, Further Tales of the City, Looking, Queer as folk, Glamorous, Orange is the new black, Everything's gonna be ok, Nanette/Something special/Douglas, The Good Place, Friends, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, How I met your father, Scrubs, Beverly Hills 90210, 90210, One tree hill, Dawso n's creek, Hart of Dixie, Young Sheldon, Gilmore Girls - a year in the life, Grown-ish, M*A*S*H (1970) and After MASH.
The list for 2024
I stream A LOT of media, and mostly series, some weeks up to 40 hours. This because I usually have something on in the background, it makes me focus even better. I work from home about half the time and the TV is always on, on these days. But it's normaly rewatches and comfort series and I have a hard time starting new ones. So, to help with this, my goal for 2024 is to complete a list of series I want to watch, but haven't dealt with yet. I might not complete them all if I don't like them, but the goal is to start them all.
The unlisted
The irregulars
Raising Dion
Cloak and Dagger
Never have I ever
Everything sucks
Heartbreak high
Elite
Derry Girls
Umbrella academy
Bodies
White Lotus
My life with the Walter boys
The Crown
Minx, season 2
Smiley
BONDING
Everything Now
Todas las veces que enamoramos
Dead to me, season 3
Love and anarchy, season 2
Cunk on earth
Survival of the thickest
Kitz
Julia
Parks and Recreation
The Flight Attendant
It's a Sin
Gentleman Jack
The Sex Lives of College Girls
The Comeback
This is us
Griselda
I'd love to get other tips you think I might like to add to the list! it's mostly Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+ that works, but feel free to tip on anything.
New seasons in 2024
Apart from new discoveries I'll surely get back to some old favourites from time to time. And some of them have some very interesting updates coming up.
Young Royals, season 3 (March)
Bridgerton, season 3 (May 16th and June 13th)
Emily in Paris, season 4
Heartstopper, season 3
Ginny and Georgia, season 3
Confirmed seasons but not confirmed year
Bridgerton, season 4
XO Kitty, season 2
That 90's show, season 2
Ginny and Georgia, season 4 (2025)
Thank you.
Thanks to all of you who've hade the patience to read at least one of these posts. I made them mostly for myself, to be honest, but I'm always glad if someone else enjoys it too! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!
