I’m so excited that ‘Come Away With Me’ comes out on Saturday!!! I can’t wait for y’all to check out the podfic too!!

His curls bounce ever so slightly at the laugh. His dimples are perfect. Henry feels heat spread across his entire body.

Henry’s brain blue screens and he finds himself in front of the man.

“I will pay you a fortune to take me anywhere in the world except here,” Henry says to the gorgeous man. His white uniform shirt hugs his arms snug and the epaulets make his shoulders broad. Broad enough to be distracting.

“Are you asking me to run away with you, sweetheart?” His American accent makes Henry want to squeak. He stifles and regains his composure.

“Look, you menace, are you going to help me or not? I’m short on time until they find me.”

“Of course I will, gorgeous. Hop aboard,” His smile is all charm and confidence. Henry should be wary but he finds himself giddy with it.

WIP Weds

Have a bit from a single parent fic I'm working on where Henry and Alex's kids meet in kindergarten and become instant besties.

"My dad is always late." Ava replied matter of factly. "He's a lawyer and has an important job and can't tell time. That's what my aunts always say."

Before Henry could reply a new voice interrupted. "I can tell time. I just don't look at the clock often enough. It's different." 

Ava darted behind Henry and he turned to see the man from earlier, the Adonis, bending down to pick her up and give her a big squeeze.

"What other fibs have you told them?" The man asked, easily putting Ava on his hip. The resemblance between the two of them was striking. Henry should have put it together earlier. They had the same hair and eyes but more than that they shared the same determined look, like they were ready to take on the world with their bare hands. 

"Nothing! And that's not a fib because I thought it was true!" Ava replied stubbornly.  He looked at her fondly and tweaked her nose. Henry may have fallen in love a bit then and there.

“What do you think about this one, dear?”

Martha guides the tines of the fork through Prince Philip’s thin lips and Alex tries not to physically recoil as he takes a photo.

“A bit sweet,” he says as the shopowner's face falls.

“It’s lemon,” she says, “but of course we could add more. The zest too.”

The Prince hums as the light leaves the baker’s eyes and Martha swoops in.

“Well I just adore it,” she says graciously. “Maybe with some raspberry mixed in to add a bit more tartness.”

The owner’s face lights up. “I have just the thing. A raspberry lemon chiffon cake with a white chocolate ganache and candied lemon peels.” She winks at Prince Philip. “Not too sweet, I promise.”

“Sounds lovely,” Martha says as she follows the owner down the display case, Philip trailing after, nose in the air while the press pool shuffles along to keep up.

Alex steps to the side and falls to the back of the pack, having already seen enough.

Prince Henry and his beautiful ballerina had been splashed across the front page of every tabloid for a week with wedding bells ringing before photos of them at a second location even emerged. Then came the announcement that Prince Henry had fallen ill and would be cancelling every public engagement indefinitely, sparking a wave of speculation about what could possibly be wrong with theories spanning from the common cold to cancer. Whatever it is or isn’t, it’s erased his budding romance with Caroline from the news altogether and everyone is right back where they started, including Alex.

Posting from my still unnamed Dollar Princess AU which is fully outline and well on its way to fully written!

“I’m going to go to Eton!” Thomas states.

“Today?” Alex asks in a lilting, silly voice.

“No!” Thomas giggles and covers his face with tiny, adorable hands, “When I’m older! Like Uncle Henry!”

“Seems quite old to be going to school, Thomas,” Alex teases. Henry gives an affronted scoff with a smile on his lips.

“Not that old!” Thomas laughs uproariously.

“I beg both your pardons!” Henry laughs and tickles Thomas’ side. The toddler scream laughs and the room fills with it. Alex steps closer and gives Thomas’ side a tickling poke. Thomas squirms in Henry’s arms, laughing at the tickle. The scent of Alex, the toddler’s giggle and the sun-warmed room fill Henry with a bubbly tingling feeling that might be… happiness? Hope?

The hope of true happiness.
