Maybe I am taking out a bit of frustrations out on this show, but I personally don’t love that Vampire Academy has some much more general fans and has just been so ignored by Peacock.

I know showing a 49% on Rotten Tomatoes may appear bad as well, but that’s with frequent frequent mass bomb reviewing by people mad at the differences and/or are being racist towards casting. The main point I’m trying to make, however, is the difference between 2000+ reviews for Vampire Academy and 36 for Bumper. Also peep that critic rating 💚

Not to mention, the post regarding the announcement had literally one person responding to the news specifically about Bumper and everyone else asking about Vampire Academy.

It truly does not seem to make sense to bank off a franchise that isn’t in its hay day and had a tv show some people casually liked while ignoring a passionate fanbase that has likely done a lot with getting viewship up (regrettably, it’s hard to solidly prove this but they did announce their viewership has grown and a lot of this appeared to be around the timing of Vampire Academy).

Oh and one thing the show is also missing are MIRRORS (thanks Rebs btw)

The Christian/Lissa sex scene should have been mirrored with the Dimitri nearly-love confession, not one scene after another, but with fast cuts, the screens blurring into eachother

Same goes for Meredith strocking Mias face and them nearly resting their faces against eachother, mirrored with Dimitri strocking Roses face and resting his head nearly against hers - again: not as two seperated scenes, but as fast cuts behind each other

I think those parallels were indeed on purpose but they were so badly cut together that the mirroring is totally lost if you do not know what you have to look for
