Listen, I'm a Dragoway truther, and I support Rose, Lissa & Christian as a Polycule. But Ship literally whatever you wanna ship in this series, its silly and fun, and anyway my OTP of all time is Sydrian - speaking of, shout out to my first ever attempt at a Sydney -- hilarious to me now because I changed her whole design pretty much completely.

Anyway, here's a book 4 group shot before I put those in an actual setting with real visuals.

Excerpt from the end of Blood Promise, Chapter 30

Adrian had said seeing me in dreams couldn't compare to seeing me in person. The same was true with Lissa. Being in her head was nothing like being near her in reality. The door opened, and it was like an apparition materializing before me, some sort of heavenly messenger descended from above. I'd never been away from her for this long, and after all this time, part of me wondered if I was imagining this.

Her hand went to her mouth, and she stared at me wide-eyed. I think she felt the same way -- and she hadn't even had warning of my visit. She'd just been told I was coming "soon." No doubt I seemed like a phantom to her too.

And with that reunion... it was like I was emerging from a cave - one I'd been in for almost five weeks - into the bright light of day. When Dimitri had turned, I'd felt like I'd lost part of my soul. When I'd left Lissa, another piece had gone. Now, seeing her... I began to think maybe my soul might be able to heal. Maybe I could go on after all. I didn't feel 100 percent whole yet, but her presence filled up that missing part of me. I felt more like myself than I had in ages.

A world of questions and confusion hung in the silence between us. In spite of everything we'd been through with Avery, there was still a lot of unresolved business from when I had first left the school. For the first time since I'd set foot on the Academy's grounds, I felt afraid. Afraid that Lissa would reject me or scream at me for what I'd done.

Instead, she drew me into a giant hug. "I knew it," she said. She was already choking on her sobs. "I knew you'd come back."

"Of course," I murmured into her shoulder. "I said I would."

I mean, come on, there's murmuring for god's sake. How are they not cannon??????

listen, the canon ships in va/bloodlines are cool and all that. but the fanon ships? the potential in each of them?? unmatched.

sydney x rose - a great "enemies to friends to lovers" story. first half of blood promise is sydney falling in love with rose while on a road trip (and starting to question her alchemist beliefs) and rose uses sydney as a rebound for lissa. many iconic lines from rose, how she couldn't stop worrying over sydney in last sacrifice, and sydney describing rose as beautiful.

rose x lissa - the true endgame of the series. you can't have rose describe lissa as an angel and compare feeding her blood as better than sex and not have them be together at the end. their break-up in shadow kiss and getting back together in blood promise carry so much emotion and angst, you can't help but root for them.

rose x lissa x christian - the secret true endgame and love triangle in the series. lissa gets to have the two people she love the most at her side. everyone is happy in the end and they balance each other off.

eddie x mason - you can't look me in the eye and say eddie didn't feel anything for mason, which is why mason's death hit him so hard.

eddie x adrian - eddie has the same responsible/straight-to-business attitude that adrian admires in sydney, and despite giving adrian a hard time because of his bad habits, eddie has a soft spot for him. plus you can have eddie have the same doubts as he had in bloodlines with jill (thinking adrian deserves someone of royal status instead of a dhampir)

adrian x christian - what's better than one edgy, sarcastic man? two edgy, sarcastic men. yet they have distinct personalities that could balance each other to make it work. bonus point of the irony of one's aunt killing the other's great-aunt but the two nephews still falling in love.

zoe x jill - this is basically a wlw of sydrian where sydney is more hung up on the alchemist rhetoric and adrian is more shy/socially awkward. what more can you ask?

jill x angeline - this is lissa x rose 2.0 except if rose was more unhinged and lived away from society until she was assigned to guard the most important royal in the moroi world. again, what more can you ask?

jill x mia - they can be water-user girlfriends. mia can train jill to use her magic for self-defense. again, what more can you ask?

trey x sydney - trey has the same flirty manner/womanizer fame and lazy but heart-of-gold personality of adrian (except he doesn't have spirit and is in a cult). this can create tension as both are on the "same side" but on different extremes (warriors and alchemists) and how they can each leave the groups that traps them.

trey x eddie - good "friends to enemies to back to friends to lovers" when we learn trey is with the warriors. they barely have scenes together but the scene (and tension) when eddie shoved trey against the wall to confront him in golden lily is enough to make up for it.

marcus x adrian - this is basically a mlm of sydrian where sydney is the leader of an underground alchemist resistance group but still somewhat unfriendly/unwilling to date moroi. what more can you ask?

Fanfic Type: angst, hurt/comfort, fluff, slow burn, friends to lovers, enemies to lovers kinda, I don’t write smut

Heyyy, I have no idea if the Vampire Academy fandom is alive or if anyone would even be interested in reading Christian Ozera x Reader but I lowkey don’t care. This was super fun to write, it’s so classic fantasy highschool like it’s just a cool vibe. Of course I don’t own any Vampire Academy characters this is purely fanfic. Also I’ve only seen the movie and read the first two books and read like the first half of the third (I don’t even really remember the books I’m starting to re read them) so if Christian turns out to be an asshole sorry (don’t spoil it though I already know too much of the Dimitri lore😭)

Plot: For the plot I’m going more off book lore and the movie vibe, I haven’t seen the show yet I’ll probably watch it eventually. Then of course using my imagination lol. Reader is basically Lissa, Lissa’s not gonna be a character in this fic instead reader will be taking her place. Also Andre doesn’t exist.

Warnings: basic vampire stuff involving blood, character death, nightmares, depression, suicidal thoughts and risky behavior, swearing, talking about sex (no smut tho) (all these warnings aren’t in this part but if I continue the series they’ll probably pop up)

Part One: scared of the dark

You’d been back at the St. Vladimir’s for a little over a week. You and Rose, your best friend and future guardian, ran away when you were fifteen after your parents were killed in a car crash. Rose and you were also in the car but for some unknown reason, you two lived. Since then things got weird. You became sad all the time, it was more than just the deaths of your parents; something changed within you. Along with that you’d had shitty experiences with boys, which wasn’t an effect of the crash, just highschool. And then there was the bullying, it wasn’t normally bullying though people, you still don’t know who, would leave threats for you to find or do more harmless but equally agitating pranks. Finally there was your connection with Rose and mind reading abilites. You two were telepathically connected, sometimes she could slip into your mind involuntarily and without your knowledge. To an extent, she could feel what you feel. You had the ability to read minds, you only ever used it once and you didn’t even know you were doing it at first. It’s a form of compulsion that’s extremely rare. The only person who knows you can do it is Rose. The only time you’d ever read someone’s mind was your mother’s as she died, you looked inside her mind to hear her last words, “I love you.”

Ever since that night of lying half dead beside an unconscious Rose and dead parents in the pitch black darkness you’d become quite adverse to the void-like atmosphere the absence of light created. Rose and you managed to avoid guardians for two years until a week ago you were dragged back to the academy. Normally it wouldn’t be such a big deal for you two to runaway, but you were next in line for the throne. Being afraid of the dark you would think, would be difficult for a vampire. Luckily class was during nighttime but the school was still lit up, plus sunlight didn’t bother you too badly.

Suddenly the clock struck ten pm and Bad Girl’s by M.I.A started playing. The iconic song was Rose’s ring tone on your top secret flip phone you hid from the headmistress.

“Hello?” You say half asleep.

“I know your alarms not set up yet so I’m calling to wake you up for your wonderful morning…well night…of highschool fun!” She says sarcastically.

“Why thank you I’m thrilled,” you say returning her sarcasm. You hang up and get ready for school. You wear a black pleated skirt, slightly sheer black tights, dress shoes, a button up white shirt, and your St. Vladimir’s blazer. You grabbed your backpack, a silver sparkly draw string bag and placed your secret phone in a hidden compartment on your bag; you and Rose agreed to keep them on you in case of emergencies. You looked at your schedule to figure out where the hell you were going, and just how late you were going to be.

Lunch

Period 5: Understanding Poetry

Period 6: History of St. Vladimir

You knew you and Rose wouldn’t have the first four period together as that’s when Dhampirs train. You hoped some of your classes would match up the last three period of the day though. First period was bleak. Everything being taught you already knew. Second period however, unfortunately seemed to be more interesting. Across the room you saw your ex boyfriend Aaron holding hands with a short Moroi girl. You only dated Aaron because he asked you out, before that you didn’t even know the guy existed. You went out for a couple weeks then when he tried to get intimate after barely knowing you, you broke up with him. Clearly he wasn’t that crushed and found a replacement. Even though the two of them being together didn’t bother you, you still felt anxiety rising in your chest. You missed the life of freedom Rose and you had been taken away from. Just when you thought Lit couldn’t get any worse the boy who was obsessed with you sophomore year and followed you around appeared. He made eye contact with you then sat in the seat furthest from you; thank Vlad you thought. Elemental Magic , your third period class, was a sophomore level class. You may have weird abilities, like your bond with Rose and mind control but you didn’t possess strong connection to any of the four elements; fire, earth, water, or air.

Finally study hall came around and you were free to run off to your secret hiding place; the attic of the chapel. You turn on the lights and are meant with the warm ancient room you love. You head over to the green soft armchair ready to read in peace when suddenly a boy steps out from behind a bookcase.

“Holy shit!” You say jumping up. “You scared me!” You scold him.

“I have that effect on people,” he says ominously. You then realize who you’re talking to; it’s Christian Ozera.

“I didn’t mean-“ you begin to say.

He cuts you off, “I know perfectly well what you meant,” he says.

“No, you really don’t,” you defend yourself. Christian Ozera was known by everyone at St. Vladimir’s; but for the wrong reasons. Christian’s parents willingly became Strigoi when he was a child, ever since then nobody really trusted him, even though he was only a child when it happened.

“What are you doing here anyway?” He asks.

“I always come here, well I did…” you say.

He looks confused for a moment then he realizes who you are. “Your Y/N Dragomir, the runaway princess,” he says with a smirk.

“And you’re Christian Ozera,” you say. “You know maybe if you gave people the benefit of the doubt sometimes, people wouldn’t be so weary of you,” you say.

“I don’t give people who look at me the way they do the benefit of the doubt,”

“They…not me?” You ask.

“You said it yourself…you didn’t mean to scream in terror at the sight of my hideous face,” he says sarcastically.

“First of all, I’d hardly consider your face hideous, second I really didn’t mean anything by it…I’m just…jumpy,” you say.

“A Morori princess who’s jumpy?” He laughed.

“Hey it’s not funny,” you say playfully defending yourself. “This was my hiding spot before it was yours,” you add.

“Well I quite like it here so maybe we’ll just have to share, that is if your not to horrified of me?” He teases.

“I think I’ll manage thanks,” you say. Suddenly the lights flicker twice.

“Really, this shit again?” Christian says.

“What do you mean? What’s happening?” You say trying not to sound too panicky.

“These past few weeks the lights have randomly been going out,” Christian tells you.

“Even now? When it’s already dark outside?” You ask with wide eyes. He nods yes. Quickly you dash to the door trying to get it open but it won’t budge. “The fucking door won’t open,” you say frustrated.

“Here let me try,” Christian says as he also fails to open the door. You begin breathing heavily. “Someone must’ve followed you and trapped you in here,” he says. “Piss anyone off lately?” He asks. After his smart remark he turns to see you tearing apart your backpack looking for your phone as you slightly hyperventilate. “Woah, it’s okay,” he says when he sees you so afraid.

“No…I need to get out of here, I need to find my phone so I can call Rose!” You say still searching. You pick up your backpack and dump everything out on the table. He helps you look through everything to find your phone. “Fucking hell! It’s dead…I must’ve forgotten to charge it last night,” you say.

“Hey it’s okay,” he says confused as to why you’re losing it. He hesitates before saying, “I won’t hurt you.”

“I know,” you say slightly angry. “You’re not the issue here, the lights are about to go out and the chapels in the middle of nowhere. It’ll be pitch black,” you say.

“You’re not scared of the dark?” He genuinely asks.

“I am,” you say angrily. “That’s why I need my stupid phone to turn on so I can call Rose,” Christian walks over to the door and begins trying to open it again, hopelessly slamming his body against it. He freezes suddenly. “What is it?” You ask.

“I’m an idiot,” he says smiling.

“I don’t doubt you but why exactly?” You ask.

“Cause I can fix this,” he says. He walks over to a cluster of candles and snaps his fingers allowing a flame to appear. He lights a couple of them and then brings the cluster to where you’re sitting. As he sits down beside you the lights go out.

Back in Rose’s fourth period, weights and conditioning, she sees the lights throughout the whole campus go out. “Shit,” she says.

“What?” Mason asks.

“What the fuck is this about?” Rose asks referring to the lights.

“It’s been happening lately, they don’t know why,” Mason replies.

“I have to find Y/N,” Rose says. She digs through her backpack to find her phone but you don’t answer. “It must be dead,” she says. Reluctantly she runs to Dimitri and the other guardians. “We need to find Y/N,” she says.

Just as one of the guardians is about to dismiss her, Dimitri says, “Why? What’s wrong?”

“She’s scared of the dark,” Rose says quietly. “Ever since the crash,” she adds. Dimitri whispers something to the other guardian who runs off.

“They’ll begin searching, in the meantime can you use the bond you two share?” He asks.

“I-“ Rose says shocked.

“I know about it…so does Headmistress Kirova, it’s one of the only reasons you weren’t expelled?” Dimitri says.

“And the other?” She asks.

He doesn’t answer her question he simply says, “so can you use the bond?”

“It’s not really voluntary but I can try-“ her sentence is cut off as she slips into your mind. “I can’t see where she is…but she’s with…wait is that…. Christian Ozera…the fuck is she doing with that psycho! She’s calm, which is weird. It looks like they lit some candles. She’s just staring at him…probably avoiding looking at the rest of the room cause it’s so dark. Wait she turned her head. Ummmm…I see…bookshelf, stained glass window like-“ she snaps out of the bond. “Like the one in the chapel!” She starts running and Dimitri chases after her.

Back in the chapel Christian breaks the silence and says, “I’m sorry.”

“For what? You kinda saved the day with the fire magic idea,” you say.

“For assuming you thought of me the way everyone does,” he says.

“I don’t blame you for assuming things about me when all everyone else does is assume things about you,” you reply. You’re sitting so close you can feel his warm breath on your skin. His ocean blue eyes looking into yours. Just as he’s about to say something the door is broken open and light from flashlights come pouring in the room. Rose runs to you and quickly pulls you off the floor.

“Are you okay?” She asks alarmed.

“Yeah I’m fine,” you tell her as you look back at Christian.

“Come on let’s get you out of here,” Rose says glaring at Christian.

“I’ll see you around,” you say to him as Rose pulls you away from him towards the other guardians. He just waves in response, with a hurt look.

You and Rose now sat in Headmistress Kirova’s office. The lights had come back on finally and you knew she’d want you to explain. Dimitri and one other guardian stood by the door.

“First things first,” Kirova says. “Cell phones, now”

“But we need them it’s a safety thing!” Rose says.

“And how well did that work for you this time,” Kirova responds. Reluctantly you give her the flip phones. “Princess, explain,” she says.

You hesitate, you didn’t want to broadcast your trauma from the night your parents died but you had no other choice, “being in the dark reminds me of laying there with my parents dead body’s thinking I was going to die to,” you say deadpan, showing as little emotion as possible to ensure you don’t cry. Rose looks sympathetic.

“Great you heard it, can we go?” Rose says. Kirova looks as though she regrets asking you about it to begin with, so she lets you and Rose leave. On your way out in the hall Dimitri stops you and Rose.

“Your bond is special,” he says. “Rose would be the perfect guardian for you Princess, after you two graduate. But if that’s what you want Rose you have to work for it,” he says.

“Yeah, I know,” she says as she pulls you with her and speed walks away. You two walk to the Moroi dorms.

Your dorm looks the same as it did before you two ran away from the academy. They never cleaned it out. It was the same old light pink comforter and fairy lights pinned to the wall. Your pink, lavender, and mint decor contrasted with the dark oak walls and floor of the dorm room.

“Okay so what was that whole Christian Ozera situation?” Rose asks.

“There was no situation,” you say. “We just got locked in there together,” you say.

“You do know why those asshole locked you in there?” She says. “It’s because everyone thinks he’s gonna turn Strigoi any day now. They wanted to see if he’d kill you, the lights going out was just the cherry on top” she says.

“You’re being crazy Rose, yes that’s probably why they locked me in there but they’re wrong about him,” you say.

“Twenty minutes with the creep and suddenly you’re his biggest fan?” She says.

“He helped me, he tried to get the door undone and then he used his magic to light the candles, he’s not the monster everyone makes him out to be,” you say.

“I can believe it,” she says smiling.

“What?” You say defensively.

“You’re totally crushing on the psycho,” she says.

“I am not!” You say.

“Soooo crushing,” she says.

I held off on watching the new vampire academy tv show because a lot of people (at least on my timeline) were saying it was boring and not much was happening. But boy were they wrong. I watched all five episodes and this is everything I ever wanted in a show. There’s chemistry, a lot of romance tropes, friendship, and etc.

I admit, I was hesitant about a new cast just because I loved the original cast members but to be honest this cast is so superior!!

Lissa and Rose friendship is so beautiful and the fact that they would do anything for each other. As much as I love all the other characters in the show, these two are my favorites.

Whoever did the casting for this show needs a raise, because all the characters got chemistry!!!

Rose and Dimitri?! A very hot couple who at this point flirt in front of everyone lol, they had me screaming at the screen so many times to kiss!!! I’m pretty sure when they finally do I’m gonna yell the whole time. He cares so much for her, pushes her to do better, and is always being rational. Did I mention these two people are hot and their chemistry is just on a whole other level?

With the whole Rose and Dimitri thing, I can’t help but feel bad for Mason just because it’s clear to everyone that Mason is in love with Rose and Rose is literally the only one who doesn’t see that. I don’t consider this a love triangle at all just because Rose clearly sees him as a friend who she occasionally kisses. If he’s not going to get a fair shot with her romantically, then I hope we see a good friendship there. When he told Rose, “what would Lissa say” I was like AWWW

Lissa and Christian, when he called her a unicorn?! <3 and how much he is helping her with figuring her power out! He really likes her, cares what she think, and is always helping her out. BUT, I would not be surprised if the writers push for a whole Lissa and Jesse thing because of the whole marriage to get her seat back. I wouldn’t mind Lissa being in a love triangle. Jesse has been a unlikeable character for me so far but a marriage of convenience trope? I’m a sucker for that ngl lol.

Mia and Meredith, when Meredith said “look so she can be nice” after witnessing the interaction between Mia and Sonya was so cute. Can tell Meredith was so into Mia when she first seen her and Mia was intrigued by her. I hope to see more scenes between them in the future :)

Sonya and Mikhail!! Omg when he said he had a date to get to, I just knew he was going to die and I wish they didn’t do it just because this couple was perfect and Sonya was so happy. Seriously, our girl been through a lot and deserved him just as much as he deserved her. That last scene of her in episode five scared me, but am glad it didn’t end the way I thought it would for her and am curious to see what the writers have in store for her.

Again, I can rant about everyone on this show because they are so well written and great but I wanted to focus on my favorite couples. I do have some criticism regarding this show, and that is just more music please lol. I know it may seem dumb but this show could have more music on it :) okokok byeeeee <3

Oh and one thing the show is also missing are MIRRORS (thanks Rebs btw)

The Christian/Lissa sex scene should have been mirrored with the Dimitri nearly-love confession, not one scene after another, but with fast cuts, the screens blurring into eachother

Same goes for Meredith strocking Mias face and them nearly resting their faces against eachother, mirrored with Dimitri strocking Roses face and resting his head nearly against hers - again: not as two seperated scenes, but as fast cuts behind each other

I think those parallels were indeed on purpose but they were so badly cut together that the mirroring is totally lost if you do not know what you have to look for
