Solstice Thoughts for the Darkest Day
The deepest and most poignant practice that I have developed over the years with which I have honored the Winter Solstice is simply to hold the light.
Today is a perfect day to be kind to someone who is so lost in their own shit that they have forgotten how to be kind to themselves. Today is a day to light a candle or some other fire and to help carry the Sun through its death and inevitable rebirth. Today is a day to take out the food you preserved at the height of summer and enjoy it with the reminder that the bountiful times will come again.
Happy Winter Solstice. Happy Turn of the Wheel.
Tomorrow is a new day.

Thursday, December 21st 2023 Sun in Sagittarius ♐️🔥and Capricorn ♑️🌎 Moon in Aries ♈️🔥and Taurus ♉️🌎
Happy Winter Solstice day (for most of my audience). Summer Solstice for those in the southern hemisphere. Either way, it’s a cardinal point in the sky signifying new action. The days begin to get longer for us here on the northern side and with the sun entering the sign of Capricorn, it gives us more opportunity to evaluate how we feel safe and secure. Most begin to reevaluate the career oriented points in their lives.
We’re also reaching the midpoint of Mercury retrograde today. Yep, we’re half way there guys but that also means that the Sun entering Capricorn and Mercury dancing backwards into Sagittarius again, are gonna “bump into each other” then head in different directions. It may feel extra retrogrady.
The most significant of the transits continues to be the opposition between Venus in Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus though, which may have you feeling like the straw that broke the camel’s back in whatever you’re dealing with. While our brains are doing so much introspection and overthinking (thanks Mercury) this transit doesn’t have to be negative. It can bring in as many good surprises into your life as not so good ones. Uranus is also retrograde (which softens the blow) and in a Venus sign in Taurus makes this more of a friendly debate between these two. Shift the perspective of whatever comes your way and see how it can benefit you in the long run.
No matter how you’re experiencing these energies, we’re wrapping up the year by evaluating the dynamic of our relationships and management of our finances in some way, shape or form. Something is about to come to light or preparing you for something that will likely come to fruition around mid-January. Are you hanging onto something or letting go? 💚💫

I deleted all of my socials except this one and now I’m feeling into a sweet and juicy and sensual creative space and it feels so timely after a period of inner excavation and personal transformation. I’m diving deeper into ritual and going deeper into oneness and my relationship with all that is and creating beautiful things from that space. Mmm it feels so good. I’m grateful.

Transiting Sun enters Gemini
Monday, May 20 - Thursday, June 20, 2024
Gemini the Twins*:
• Air (social and mental - communicative, detached, abstract, changeable)
• Yang (levity - outgoing, expressive, logical, left-brained)
• Mutable (adapting to learning - distributing, connecting, flexible, scattered)
• Personal (focused on personal wants and needs)
• "I think"
• Ruler - Mercury; exalted - nothing official, but Ms M thinks it’s the Lady Asteroids
• Color: impudent dandelion yellow, busting up the green monotony of all those Taurus lawns
(* Gleaned almost completely from the book Astrology for Yourself by Bloch and George; the color is my own theory/belief.)
Happy Gemini season! I want to point out first that we’ve had all the visible planets cramped together in just about 70° of Zodiac, for a few months now. You know how it feels when you walk into a room that’s been closed off for a while? Hot, stifling, and stuffy - we can’t get the windows open fast enough. And that’s how Gemini season is going to go down (if we let it), opening the windows wide and freshening life.
(Ms M’s windows - safely on the second floor - tend to remain open from mid-May to the first snowfall.)
But. Sometimes that breeze stirs up the dust, and we have to clean it up. Sometimes those opened windows make it easier to hear all the traffic, the sirens, the g-d- birds at 4 fricking am - or the neighbor’s horrendously bad taste in music. Do we shut the window and risk getting stuffy again, or do we (learn to) tune it out?
We have some opportunities ahead, and some challenges. Too many options? Options vanishing into the fog? I think a lot of Gemini season is going to be about making more mature choices.
Allow a day or so on either side:
Wednesday, May 22 - Thursday, May 23:
Sun/Gemini trine Pluto/Aquarius, 2°00’
Full Moon, 2°55’ Sagittarius
A fresh perspective; a new, powerful way of looking at things. Shedding light on different possibilities.
Friday, May 31 - Sun/Gemini square Juno/Virgo, 10°27’. Our partners aren’t doing what we want them to do, how we want them to do it. Beware of nagging - coming out of your mouth. A bit emotionally insensitive.
Sunday, June 2 - Sun/Gemini sextile North Node/Aries, trine South Node/Libra, 12°44’. Maintaining our independence of thought - very positive, effective self-talk.
Tuesday, June 4 - Sun/Gemini conjunct Venus/Gemini, 14°29’. This is important not only for its pleasant, sociable vibe - it’s the halfway point of the Sun-Venus cycle. Halfway between retrogrades, I should clarify.
Thursday, June 6 - New Moon, 16°16’ Gemini. Growing pains. Things are changing, and it’s up to us to determine where life is going and what (if anything) we ought to do about it.
Sunday, June 9 - Sun/Gemini square Saturn/Pisces, 19°05’. Sun-Saturn in mutable signs can get very judgemental. There can be a lot of slippery mental gymnastics and contortions as we attempt to justify our poor choices. Paralyzing commitment-phobia.
Wednesday, June 12 - Sun/Gemini sextile Chiron/Aries, 22°44’. Healing - if you have apologies to deliver, use this! Very good for teaching and learning, too.
Friday, June 14 - Sun/Gemini conjunct Mercury/Gemini, 24°06’. This is also a halfway point, this time between Mercury retrograde cycles. A chatty, breezy day. Remember to listen, too.
Saturday, June 15 - Sun/Gemini sextile Eris/Aries, 25°23’. Standing up for ourselves, verbally. Encouraging other people, cheering them on.
Thursday, June 20 - Sun/Gemini square Neptune/Pisces, 29°53’. On the very verge of the Cancer Solstice, the fig comes in. Our poor brains can’t determine which way to go. We’ll have to use our feelings, after the Sun enters Cancer.

On June 21 at 9:08 p.m. EDT, the strawberry full moon in Capricorn will illuminate the night sky. It is the first full moon of summer, occurring less than 30 hours after the beginning of the solstice on June 20. Due to the energetic shifts in the cosmos, the strawberry full moon (named for the time of the northern hemisphere’s strawberry harvest) will be mighty in augmenting relationships. Earthlings will experience the “moon illusion,” where an optical illusion makes the moon appear larger on the horizon.
Venus, who’s in Cancer, opposes the full moon, making us apt to take a position of understanding and to believe in the good of others. Jealousy and hidden desires can come to light, making it hard to control our feelings. Our heart chakras will be more open than usual: strawberries, namesake of the current moon, are associated with that particular energy center. Cleanse the chakra by placing rose quartz on the heart in a healing bath. It will guide you towards decisions that align with your core and being.
Our sentiments are extra sensitive as we’ve been dealing with the hazy and confusing Neptunian energy all week (Venus, Mercury and the sun in Gemini all squared Neptune in Pisces on June 16, 17 and 20). This energy is contagious so try to be kind. Mercury in Cancer harmonizes with Mars in Taurus on the day of the full moon. Although the vibe seems breezy, it can lead to arguments if people are pushed to their limits. Although we’ll be emotionally assertive and expressive, passive-aggressive reactions can be the final straw for most. Try to address the root of problems to create a better dynamic with others.
Fixed star Spiculum adds courage and bravery to helping us express our emotions. Spiculum does not want us to hold back and repress our sentiments. The caveat is that we have to look at matters from a place of empathy rather than one of selfishness. Passions will be extremely high, which could lead to obsessive thoughts, oppressive and controlling behavior, as well as the desire to push others toward our way of feeling and thinking without consideration for what they want. Don’t use emotional manipulation to get what you want. If you choose to use that method, it’ll eventually backfire. Allow people to make their own decisions and mistakes.
The second full moon in Capricorn (the buck full moon) occurs on July 21. This lunation is characterized by dreamy, mysterious, magical Neptune, retrograde in Pisces, and revolutionary, wild and extraordinary Uranus in Taurus. It’ll also commence at 29 degrees, whereas the full moon on June 21 falls at 1 degree Capricorn. Both full moons will incite our passions but the wool pulled over our eyes will be removed on July 21, allowing us to see others and situations clearly. Once we do, we’ll run away for good and start a new chapter. It’s a wake-up call from the rapture we’re falling under on June 21.
Overall, the strawberry full moon pushes us to connect with others soulfully. As long as we act on what’s in our hearts, we’ll be able to find the companionship and love we deserve and need. The same applies to helping our friends attain emotional success. Don’t stand in the way of other people’s happiness. Support others and you’ll receive the same unconditional sentiment in return. Remember, love can save the day if we are gentle, compassionate and respectful of others and ourselves.  Full Moon In Capricorn by Talon Abraxas

week of december 17th, 2023
these are written predominantly for the *rising* signs but they are also intuitively "channeled" enough that they should work for any dominant energy you have! (try your sun if you don't know rising, or more advanced readers can try moon, anywhere you have a stellium, etc and see what works best for you!)
aries: capricorn season, soon, marked by the solstice, puts the focus and highlight on your public image, and the work you do that really matters, trickling down through the generations to your descendants, genetic or otherwise. so do good work. if you can't in your career, you can in your day to day endeavors.
taurus: your week's energy is productive but internal. and it is productive to you and your path through life, but others may not see it as productive - it may not serve them, or their conventions or traditions.
gemini: retrograde mercury backs up into your 7th house again, so relationships get a revisit. maybe you're going back over old fears, old patterns, old problems. maybe you're revisiting what you love, need, or desire. but watch for recurring themes, so you can act accordingly.
cancerians: your sign does tend to be susceptible to 'cuffing season' hype, not least of all due to capricorn season meaning your 7th house season! so do make your home hygge and happy, and if you find someone you truly love let them in, but don't think you need to pair off to be happy and comfortable. go hermit (crab) mode if it's better.
leo: the beginning of capricorn season is less feisty fiery than you might like but it's a really good time to power up your daily routines as rituals; the deep meditation of a good workout, the life force in your food, the shamanism of sleep, etc.
virgo: romantic fires are stoked from capricorn season on. that may be within a pre-existing relationship, or outside of it. it could be the blossoms of a new one, or a dabbling outside of one. try not to let anyone get hurt; you are not the only one with feelings.
libra: particularly in the second half of this week, it's auspicious to make your home nice, to make it a place of restoration, which can be stimulating when it needs to or relaxing when that need arises. it should also be beautiful, without requiring excessive ownership or spending.
scorpio: if, in some small way, you can help someone in your immediate vicinity - a family member, a roommate, a neighbor, a cold or hungry person on the street - then helping them will be immensely rewarded in some surprising way later on.
sagittarius: noticeable if not extremely earthshattering events occur this week around the last degree of your sign and the first degrees of capricorn. so this can seem quite fraught. but don't act too impulsively. mercury is still retrograde after all. you do have more time than it seems. think it out first, and carefully.
capricorn: the sun into your sign starts your season off perhaps chaotically as mercury is also hanging around here at these critical degrees of 29 sagittarius and 0 capricorn. so enhance and fortify your mercury retrograde protocols!
aquarius: like it or not - and maybe you do - but you're doing deep work these days. venus this week opposing uranus in taurus helps, but you have to make choices about your public vs private lives. can you reconcile them or must you give one up?
pisces: the sagittarian quality of the week boosts the most mutable among you but can drain pisceans with the softer and gentler qualities of your sign. so let yourself get a bit tuckered out, but rest and recuperate after, before you continue.

These Four Zodiac Signs are Set to SHINE This Week
How are you feeling after that potent Summer Solstice and Capricorn Full Moon? Did you let go of something MAJOR or did something BIG catch your attention? If not, no worries—it happens. (Sometimes astrology hits hard, and other times, not so much.) Anyway, as we move past the Full Moon and the MAJOR shift of Cancer season, this final week of June kicks off with a little bit of evaluation, a dash of spice, and heaping serving of retrograde.
The week technically starts off sans astrology, giving you a few days to soak in the (BIG? MAJOR? Nonexistent?) shifts of the Solstice / Full Moon. Then, Wednesday arrives, and it’s a day for planning and plotting. There’s a sweet, sultry, and sorta spicy feel on Friday, which is good for spunky fun. Then, Saturday arrives and with it comes not one, not two, but FOUR transits. There’s a chance to heal a sore spot—if you're up for talking (or writing?) about it. But the real headline this week is astrology’s least-liked planet doing its most dreaded dance: Saturn Retrograde. On the same day, you might have an "ah-ha" moment from a seemingly meaningless conversation (maybe something about “dark” feminine since Lilith switches gears this day as well), but let’s be real—the topic of discussion all week long will most certainly be Saturn Retrograde.
Of course, that is the gist of this week. Here is the actual astrology:
June 26 – Mercury in Cancer trines Saturn in Pisces
June 28 – Venus in Cancer sextile Mars in Taurus,
June 29 – Mercury in Cancer square Chiron in Aries
June 29 – Saturn stations retrograde in Pisces
June 29 – Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus
June 29 – Lilith Enters Libra
