Re8 Au person here and oh my goodness Delores, Felix and Julieta look amazing I love your art style so much! I hated finals in school hang in there and try not to get too stressed out!
Yeah Miranda has way too much time on her hands and she spends all of that time obsessing over random things that she thinks are important honestly she's pretty crazy 🤣
The Guzmáns are there! They're one of the few families that had every member taken most families only had one or two people taken. Miranda just kind of went through the village and picked random people from random families but she picked them purposely because she knew how close they were to the family.
Also I was thinking Mirabel in this AU is an adult when Ethan gets there and was an adult before he got there having stopped aging in her 20s what if she had her own child/children (triplets run in the family) that Miranda forced her to have? Or maybe not forced her to have but that she just had in general because I can't not see Mirabel as a mother when she gets fully grown. She's the type of person that has a vibe about them that you know that when they get older they're going to have kids. I don't know it was just a thought and I would love to have your feedback on it
As always any and all artwork would be appreciated!
YAYYYYAYAYAYY I'm so glad you liked the art, gonna do more of the others as soon as I get some more design ideas (pintrest is my best friend rn fr)
And. So cool. At least she took the whole family, most sane thing Miranda did (but honestly it doesn't make a difference. Let's be real 😭😭) Dolores can have her man ig <\\\\33
AS FOR KIDS ERM...idk maybe??? She met a nice guy, beats me tbh. Or maybe it's similar to Lady D, but. Not as weird?? I'm not sure about the whole making them from literal bugs or whatever, but adoption/saving them from Moranda's wrath or she just met a guy at some point would be rad 🤓🤓🤓
Also question. That I don't know if you answered before but?? Do the other family members age or do they stop as well? I mean they are infected with mold, just not as badly as Mirabel or the others ig. So maybe they do age, just a lot slower. I mean the other lords have been infected for years and barely aged, same with Alcina's daughters having stopped in about their mid 20s. So would the Madrigals be affected in the same way?? Just a question <\\33

How did you decide which concept character was who's kid in your Encanto au?
Miranda: Miranda was automatically one of Bruno's once I decided to pair him up with Alejandra. The two women look far too similar to not be related.
Amelia and Sofía: I read a fic where the twins were Bruno's daughters, and really liked the idea. Plus, they look similar enough to Alejandra, but with Bruno's skin tone, I think it's believable they could be their spawn.
Princesa: I knew for sure I wanted Isabela to have a new "golden child" burdened by their gift, and Princesa fit that role nicely. I was also having trouble fitting her due to her random blonde hair, and since Isa adopts her kids, genetics didn't really matter.
Fuega: Fuega's whole thing seemed to be her annoyance at her "perfect" sister, so I made her Isabela's daughter -Princesa's sister- to reflect that.
Mariana: I saw someone use her, and just wanted to lol. Needed a third kid for Isabela, figured she'd work just fine.
Leta: Since she was supposed to be Pepa's twin, I figured making her her granddaughter was a good way to connect the two, and explain the physical similarites. She also matches Dolores and Mariano physically fairly well.
Andrés: Needed more boys, so I dug around in the Bruno concepts. This guy looked suprisingly like Dolores, with the darker skin and the curls, so I picked him.
Carlos: Had to use the famous Carlos. Since Camilo doesn't have bio kids, I gave him to Dolores to explain why he looks so much like Camilo. And looking at him, he actually resembles Mariano a lot lol.
Avila and Amada: When I raised Dolores and Mariano's kid count to five, I needed two more, and so I picked the two older twins from the girl cousins page. They have Dolores's ears and Pepa's smile, how could I not?
Tomás and Rómulo: Knew I wanted to use these guys from the begining (thanks for the idea!) but placing twins was hard, since I was acting under a strict 'three kid' rule for myself. I gave them to Luisa, since a) she was adopting so I didn't have to worry about genetics, and b) I rationalized that she would have kids the youngest kids, and be the last to have them, because she needed to work on her self care, and having kids is just about the opposite of that.
Zoe: Same reasons as the twins pretty much.
Hugo: Also an idea from you! He was originally Mirabel and Bubo's (because of his rockin hair and 'stache combo) but Óscar ended up being a better pick for those two. Thought it'd be nice to give the loud Camilo a quiet kid for a nice challenge.
José: He needs no introduction. It's obvious, even if he's adopted, that he's Camilo's kid.
Héctor: Since both Bruno and Isabela ended up with all girls, I wanted at least one of 'em to have all boys to even things out a bit. So I found a concept of Antonio I liked, and used him as Camilo's third.
Óscar: He was originally Bruno's, but when I added Bubo in, I realized how similar they looked, with the hair and the nose, and liked the idea of Mirabel having a kid with an "odd" gift.
Beatriz: She's a beta Mirabel. They look too similar to be anything else imo
Lidia: I just loved this early Luisa concept so freaking much. Thought she looked emough like Mirabel to be hers, and also gave her Bubo's stature (they both shorties lol)

Augusnippets Day 24 - Path of Whumperless Whump - Land Mine
mil au again hee hee
rex engelhart @cyberwhumper vic montez @bxtterflystxtches mariano ortiz and bastian miranda @crash-bump-bring-the-whump cal bjornson @write-kin
"Okayyy. Engelhart? I need you to stay very still for me. Very, very still."
"Still" had probably been a challenge for Rex before the chrome, now, with all the work they'd done to get him pacing instead of punching when he was agitated, it was like asking a dog with a bone not to wag its tail. Still, lights darkened on the chrome as nonessential systems were powered down, out of use.
"You should run, doc." They'd both heard the click as the landmine armed itself. Rex was heavy, no way they could switch out the weight like Indiana Jones, as if that could ever work on a pressure-activated explosive.
One thing about Thanatos, though, was that he never gave up. "No. Bjornson, get me Montez now. We've got a mine."
Cal's voice filtered through his earpiece. "No good, he's dark on comms. I'll keep trying to raise him."
Shit. If Vic was dark, he might have run into the same problem. He and Mariano were on the other side of the outpost running final checks. This area was supposed to be safe, the war mages had already cleared it, Thanatos was only here providing secondary support and aid to any remaining civilians, as someone with field training and who wouldn't be expected to do any fighting when paired with Rex. Thanatos thought that "lack of manpower" was an excuse to put him in harm's way, but who was he to dispute the general's orders? "And Miranda? Does he have a read on Ortiz?"
Bastian cut in. "No bad feelings, but no comms either. They might have found a deadzone. Hold tight, you two. I'm scrambling backup." His voice was as confident and sure as ever, but there was no way that wasn't a front.
Fuck. He just needed to think. There had to be a way to get out of here. They didn't know how many other active mines could be around, and no matter how light-footed Thanatos was, he wouldn't fool one. He just needed a solution, a way to get them both out of there unharmed—
"Don't worry, doc. I won't let you get hurt," said Rex, the lights on his cybernetics flaring to life again.
"Rex, what are you—"
A huge metal frame wrapped around Thanatos, shielding him from the force of the explosion that knocked them both to the ground and made his ears ring and light flash behind his eyes. He curled himself into a ball in Engelhart's arms, the way he always did when something went wrong. When his vision cleared and his ears stopped ringing, he lifted his head. "Rex?"
It took a moment, but he was answered with a cough. "Ow." Thank the gods. Engelhart was a fucking tank. Now just to do that however many more times it took to get back. Thanatos wasn't looking forward to it.

Here’s some revisions I did after seeing some of the ideas (there are obviously some flaws but I tried). Also, these ideas you guys had are amazing and my brain is BRAINING!!!
Season one - Centering the triplets as they grow up and Alma nearly losing her mind. The full season would be 20+ episodes and 20 minutes long. Also includes young Agustin and Felix.
Season two - First ten episodes ending with the triplets (Pepa’s wedding) and the last ten with the grandchildren growing up. (And expanding on the changes that happened after Mirabel’s ceremony.)
This season and mid season three would expand on how some relationships dwindled and just different dynamics and such. Maybe some post-movie bonding.
Season three - First ten episodes ending with post-movie grandkids/ before Antonio’s birth month. The last ten centering on the actual healing through Casita’s collapse. Mirabel’s parents, sisters, and Primo's reaction to Mirabel’s disappearance. And the reaction to Bruno coming back and how they all felt.
And more bonding among family members and an introduction to extended ones on Agustin and Felix’s side of the family. Like honestly, what about their other cousins? grandparents? Tias & Tios? Nephews and nieces? We need more of them too.
Over the course of the series a trading & transport system is created for people to safely get in and out of the Encanto to the nearest town. They do explore outside The Encanto/see how far the gifts go. Culture shock.
Obligatory "the oldest granddaughters go out and shenanigans happen." also Camilo and Mirabel spy/tag along.
Season four - first twelve episodes are going to be character-centric and full of shenanigans. In every episode Luisa tries a new hobby in the B/C plot and it goes a different direction each time.
Obligatory halloween episode where the grandchildren tell each other scary stories of the outside world.
Episodes 18  could possibly surround the Triplets birthday. Episode 19 could be the Valentine's day episode with the yellow couple, blue couple, and Dolores’ relationship with Mariano.  Could also involve the other grandkids talking to their crushes or asking them out. Just a full day of wholesome love.
Episode 20 could be a BIG family game night with extended family involved.
Season five - Finale season (A few years into the future maybe?)
Mariano goes with the other granddaughters out of the Encanto to get the best engagement ring for Dolores (because only the best of the best is good for her). Camilo and Antonio tag along and they get into trouble. Dolores hears everything and goes to bail her boyfriend and cousins/brothers out.
Day of little candles themed ep where alma and the family go to the river and alma tells them all about pedro. Also flashbacks of before dos oruguitas and Alma telling her family how proud she is of them all.
Mirabel (possibly seventeen or eighteen) looks back on how far the family has come while working on Dolores’ wedding dress.
Season ends with Dolores and Mariano getting married!
Notes: Yes, the theme song would be like the family madrigal, new outfits every other episode, in each episode a part of the diverse Colombian culture could/should be explored. (food, music, dancing, fashion, history, etc).  Songs are a must and Lin Manuel Miranda will be the one who worked on them. I won’t let anyone else attempt to mimic his style of music when he can just be hired. I’m sure he would like to work on the story anyway.
I think 24 episodes instead of 20 would be a bit better plot and story wise. Maybe each could be 25 minutes each too? Also, if Disney is willing to not have a stick up their ass, I would like the series to be animated in Disney’s renaissance era style. Like the Hunchback of Notre dame, Brother bear, Lion king, Treasure planet, and Tarzan. I’m NOT accepting anything less.
It could also be a Tradigital (both computer and hand drawn) style like Tarzan/Hunchback of Notre dame! 3D backgrounds painted to look 2D with the characters actually being traditionally drawn. This would especially be cool to look at in Antonio’s room and just Encanto in general.
TONS OF DISNEY  EASTER EGGS! “Wish” kind of didn’t do it right at all so I think Encanto can do it better.  Honestly I should’ve just asked the Encanto community for help instead of just struggling by myself. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! If I’m ever able to pitch this to Disney and actually make this become true I will credit ALL OF YOU!!!
Also, I’ve noticed how poorly Disney marketed Treasure planet, Princess and the frog, and strange world (most are allegedly poorly marketed) and by god I WILL NOT let them poorly market this.
Lastly, I think the series could have a full six seasons because there are so many ideas that I want to add and don’t want anyone’s idea left out. Plus, there’s just so much one can do...
thanks to @midcanto @mirabels-miracle @droppingdonkeys @slayyyysworld @teawizard and you of course for the ideas!
mirabel😭making😭dolores😭wedding😭dress😭
I love these ideas so much!!! in a better universe this exists and in the Number 1 fan!!! I love when this fandom is creative and all come together!!

Do you think that Encanto and Coco exists within the Descendants world? If so, how do you imagine it's all worked out (what happened to the characters in Auradon, if anyone was sent to the Isle, etc)?
Yep, I totally think they exist in Descendants. Now, in all honesty, I've not seen Coco so I'm going to stick to Encanto for this (sorry not sorry, Encanto has music by Lin Manuel Miranda, I see his name and I see the movie.)
I don't think anyone was sent to the Isle per se (because there is no villain of Encanto other than intergenerational trauma). However, I think if given the choice, Bruno would have gone if the barrier could suppress his visions (if the family was in their 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' stage) and then Mirabel might have gone if it was D1/D2 (where it was 'the barrier suppresses all magic, not only evil magic) and she wouldn't be the only person without a gift. I mean the barrier even blocked Maleficent and Hades' magic so you know it's powerful.
Plus I can almost see a little Dizzy following Mirabel like a duckling if Mirabel elected to go. Again though that would have to be pre-or-mid movie Mirabel. Post-movie Mirabel wouldn't leave her family.
Okay then to the other characters:
Isabella would have been almost like an older sister to Audrey, two kindred spirits in a way since they both had to be 'perfect' for an older member of their family who never properly dealt with the trauma that happened to them before they were born (if this is Canon/WAL Audrey. Choosing Audrey...well she's beyond help but ToF Audrey might be savable).
That being said, I'd love to see a post-movie Alma smacking Leah for that 'Our family status gone, you were supposed to be his queen and you let him slip through your fingers. Your mother could hold on to a prince in her sleep' line.
Luisa would 100% hang out with Hercules in her downtime and maybe even work with Herkie on his strength since I'm sure she has some tips from getting her strength at five. Also, she'd pal around with Ginny if this is in the Choosing universe because Ginny took care of the Coachman's donkeys and Luisa has donkeys as backup dancers.
Dolores went to work in a library (either the school's, assisting Slyvia Goof in LotusQuil's universe or one of the many libraries I'm sure the capital city of a kingdom run by Belle would have).
Antonio would make friends with the Smee twins/Carlos and probably has an internship in his teens with Carlos since he can explain what's going on to the animals.
Julietta would have become a therapist, finding ways to help people heal from more than just her cooking. Plus she's seen what can happen to people when they hold in their issues and wouldn't want to see others go through that.
Pepa, Camilo, Augustin, Felix, Alma, and Mariano are harder to place but I have a feeling that as long as they were with their loved ones, they'd be happy!

The Future of the Family Madrigal
Inspired by @hannahhook7744's AU, here's what my new Madrigal family tree looks like, roughly twenty-six years after the events of the movie.
I used the scrapped characters from the Encanto Artbook, as well as some early versions of existing characters to round things out.
Tumblr media
EDIT: Added two additional kids, to bring Dolores and Mariano's kid count up to five.
First Row: Pedro Madrigal and Alma Cadenza
Second Row: Félix Castillo, Pepa Madrigal, Alejandra Delgado, Bruno Madrigal, Julieta Madrigal, and Augustín Rojas
Third Row: Antonio Madrigal, Camilo Madrigal, Dolores Madrigal, Miranda Madrigal, Amelia Madrigal, Sofía Madrigal, Isabela Madrigal, Luisa Madrigal, and Mirabel Madrigal
Fourth Row: Marcos Vasquez, Mariano Guzmán, Juana Aguado, Bubo Marquez
Fifth Row (and the one slightly above it): Hugo Madrigal, José Madrigal, Héctor Madrigal, Princesa Madrigal, Fuega Madrigal, Mariana Madrigal, Óscar Madrigal, Beatriz Madrigal, Lidia Madrigal
Sixth Row: Leta Madrigal, Andrés Madrigal, Carlos Madrigal, Avila Madrigal, Amada Madrigal, Tomás Madrigal, Rómulo Madrigal, and Zoe Madrigal
Putting a character and familial guide under the cut, because the tree is m e s s y
Alejandra is Bruno's wife, and Miranda, Amelia, and Sofía are their daughters.
Alejandra is a scrapped character who I think was supposed to be the original founder, and the Julieta Character's mother. She appears to be dead in the version of the story she's in, as we see her statue, but not her. I decided to make her Bruno's wife, as I think he deserves a scary sword wife who loves him and their daughters very much.
Miranda was an early version of Julieta, and Alejandra's daughter. Since the two look near identical, they kinda ended up being a package deal. Miranda is technically Bruno's step-daughter, but that doesn't really matter.
Amelia and Sofía are characters from a very early concept. I threw them in as Bruno's daughters, as I liked the idea of one of Bruno's kids having a 'bad' power.
Marcos is Camilo's husband, and Hugo, José, and Héctor are their sons.
There are so many early concepts of Bruno, that there are no less than three in this tree, and they all look different. Marcos is one of those early concepts, back when Bruno was a skinny twink with bright blue eyes. The name Marco was chosen from a list of potential names for Bruno.
Hugo is an early version of Antonio (there are also a lot of those here), one where he's older and selectively mute.
José seems to be from the same era as the twins, although he doesn't get any notes. He seems like he'd be Camilo's kid in any timeline lol.
Héctor is yet another concept of Antonio, but I thought he looked different enough from Hugo that it worked out. I picked the name as a reference to the movie Coco.
Leta, Andrés, Carlos, Avila, and Amada are Dolores and Mariano's children.
Leta was Pepa's twin sister originally, so I thought it made sense to make her her granddaughter instead.
Andrés is another Bruno, and I thought he looked the most like Dolores out of any of the concept characters. Andre was another potential Bruno name, so I named this version of him that.
Carlos is the infamous beta Camilo. Since Cami doesn't have any bio kids, I gave Carlos to Dolores to explain the simillarites. Plus, he does kind of resemble Mariano.
Avila and Amada are two of the four concept girl cousins in the artbook. Picked them because they have Dolores' ears and Pepa's teeth. @hannahhook7744 showed me a concept character from an early script called Amada, and we discovered that Alma's name was originally going to be Avila (in the 2017 version) so I picked those names. (Thanks Hannah!)
Juana is Luisa's wife, and Tomás, Rómulo, and Zoe are their children.
Juana is an early Pepa, back when her gift was indestructability. I paired them together just because Luisa needs a laid back gf to counteract The Anxiety. Her name is actually a beta Julieta name.
Tomás and Rómulo are a pair of twins that appeared only once in a family portrait. There are very limited boy concepts, so I snagged these guys too. Tomás means "twin" and Rómulo is the Spanish form of Romulus, a very famous twin.
Zoe is from the same era as José, Amelia, and Sofía. She's basically the poster child for Scrapped Encanto Characters.
Bubo is Mirabel's husband and Óscar, Beatriz, and Lidia are their children.
Bubo is Isa's scrapped love interest, but I'd already planned on having Isa stay single when I learned about him, so I ditched the OC I gave to Mirabel, and gave Bubo to her. They both have glasses, so I think they'd be cute together.
Óscar is the third Bruno, and the one who gets the Óscar name. I was originally using a different Óscar, but figured that this one looks the most like Bubo. The name is the most widely used name for beta Bruno.
Beatriz is a beta Mirabel, so obviously I made her her daughter.
Lidia is a Luisa, and looks decently enough like canon Mirabel and Bubo. Lidia was supposedly Luisa's name before it was Luisa.
Isabela has no partner, but Princesa, Fuega, and Mariana are her daughters.
Princesa is a bit of an enigma to me. I think she was supposed to be an aunt of some kind, maybe Augustín's sister? It's never made very clear. She's shown to be dating/married to a beta Mariano, and potentially the mother of the four girl cousins? Anyway, I aged her down so I could use her as Isabela's daughter.
Fuega was supposed to be Isabela's other sister/cousin, one who was jealous of her gift and 'perfect' status.
Mariana seems to be a veeeeery early version of Mirabel. The name also stems from an early version of Mirabel.
I have bios for all the kids, I just need to post them.

Gotta ask, in the Invisible Truth au, how did the Madrigals (both old and new) react when Bruno came waltzing into the Encanto with ten kids, all with varying stages of poor health and trauma?
(I'm assuming there's a lot of "BRUNO WHAT DID YOU DO?!")
Well, at that point several of the grandkids already had kids.
So Everyone was more than a little shocked when Bruno showed up with seven traumatized (stolen) kids one day out of the blue.
It doesn't help that he disappeared without leaving a note again.
So basically as soon as he was seen he got full named immediately. I'm talking first name, all three middle names, and both last names instead of just the one.
Everyone was T-I-C-K-E-D.
Pepa threw her shoe at him.
Alma told him he was never leaving her sight again, which the kids agreed to.
Agustín and Félix just gave him the 'what made you think this was a good idea' look.
And Julieta sighed.
Anyone Bruno promised to never leave or steal children again.
And he didn't....
Gig Gothel and the Gothel twins just showed up on their own, fatherless and with a mother who obviously didn't care and so he offered.
There was a lot of "BRUNO NO" that he just ignored to do so but he didn't leave and technically didn't steal them so they can't really get mad.
(He also definitely tries to convince all of Auradon that he's had teen kids this entire time).
------------------------------------------------------------
As for how everyone acted individually?
Well.
Ghost Pedro is laughing his ass off (with the rest of the ghostly family).
Rosa and Raimi are amused and completely chill about the situation.
Benito is anxious and freaking out about where he got them while trying to think about ways to get Bruno out of trouble if needed.
Faustina is cackling with her many cats—Beatriz just as amused.
Miranda and Julieta just sigh.
Gabriel, Agustín, Mariano, and Félix are a mix between stressed out and amused.
Bubo is sympathetic but is not helping Bruno out of this one and neither are Miguel and Ryder.
Luisa is crying and nearly crushing Bruno in a hug.
Alma is not pleased at all and neither is Pepa or Isabela (the Encanto’s ears are still ringing from the combined force of that lecture).
Mirabel, Camilo, and Dolores just get the kids settled (prepared to talk with Bruno later).
Antonio is just happy Bruno’s okay and is playing with some of his (newly born) cousins.
Yanamaria (Camilo’s future ex-wife) is overjoyed at the fact that now there’s proof that non-bio kids can get gift and she and her secret husband, Mentiroso  (one of Camilo’s exes), then set their plan into motion.
Mina is just friends with Camilo at this point but she is fully aware of everything that is going on—as are Mariano, His family, Migeul and his family, Ryder, Honeymaren, Agustín’s parents, and Félix’s father. Though to be honest, pretty much EVERYONE in the Encanto knows damn well those kids aren’t biologically Bruno’s; they just don’t talk about it and they just aren’t as hands on about it as the aforementioned people are.
It’s just a hell of a ride.
