Okay, multiversal casino staff and a bit of lore before I get too sucked into my hyperfixations and forget about it

[NOTE 1 !! If you want to make a similar concept feel free but do not take my concept entirely! You can make something SIMILAR but not EXACT replica please! I don't mind inspiration but do tag me in any art or rambles because I LOVE to see people be inspired by things or something I make!]

[NOTE 2 !! Some of these characters may act out of canon when I draw them (If I do), some of their Lore might be different, there is an explanation for it here, don't pummel me for it please.]

Origin/Main concept : The multiverse casino was originally made to be a hangout spot for people from other universes, somewhere where they could relax and discover other universes. This worked, but eventually they needed more Staff to help out on all the floors.

Why these specific characters for staff members? (Staff members are shown later) : I picked from my favorite characters from various fandoms (excluding any of my favorite children characters (theres only one here cause theyre celestes friend.)) and threw them here, they're all categorized by the card categorization I have.

Categorizations : There's both the card symbol organization, there will be a section for it at the end of the staff lists.

How does the multiverse casino get its staff? : they find almost exact copies of the universe they're trying to get a staff member from, and they talk to the person they're trying to bring in and see if they'd like to join. Old staff members get their memories of the casino entirely wiped before being returned back to their universes like nothing happened (this essentially happens whenever I leave a fandom)

Just the ENDS! -a look at endpapers created for many of my picture books

Not every one of the 38 picture books I’ve illustrated to date have end papers art included… perhaps only about a third do. (usually it’s a publisher’s budgetary issue) But when the publisher does give the green light on a picture book project to include the end papers, I’m thrilled! It’s always fun and challenging to devise and create a thematic pattern reflecting the subject and feel of the story.

Good points : 1-Strong AF 2-Take no sh*t (Kenshin's route\ Nobunaga's route...) 3-Adapt quite fast to her new and very dangerous environement (if i was her i would not leave my room for the next 3 months) 4-Fireball 5-Saved her suitor in many routes (Kenshin, Ieyasu, Shingen...) 6-Sass Queen 7-Have a life in sengoku era aside from her suitor (kinda the opposite of ikevamp mc as i said in bad point 4) 8-Have a dream and a goal 9-Very beautiful (even kenshin said so outside of his route and he was not in love with her!) 10-A lot of chemistry with all of the boys even outside of their routes.

The Villisca Axe Murders

Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa, US (June 11, 1912)

“Something terrible has happened.” ~Ross Moore, 1912

The morning started like any other summer day in Iowa.  Mary Peckham rose early to tend to the morning chores around her home, but the day’s normalcy began to falter when the Moore family who lived next door failed to emerge from their home for their own chores.  At first, she probably thought nothing of it.  There had been an event at the local church the day before that Josiah Moore, his wife Sarah, and their four children - Herman, Mary, Arthur, and Paul - all attended until well into the evening.  They had also invited two of the childrens’ friends, Lena and Ina Stillinger, to spend the night.  It was a perfectly acceptable explanation for the Moore family to get a late start the next morning, but as the hours ticked by and their home remained unusually quiet and still, Mary Peckham began to grow worried.  She went over to Moore’s house and knocked on the door, but no one answered.  She then returned to her own house to phone Josiah’s brother, Ross, to ask him to check on the family and their guests.  Ross Moore arrived and let himself into his brother’s house with a spare key while Mary waited nervously outside.

A few moments later Ross slowly walked backwards out of the front door.  His face was completely devoid of color, his eyes wide and empty, as though his soul had been sucked out through them.  Turning to Mary, Ross Moore said, “Something terrible has happened.”

Unbeknownst to any of the Villisca citizens, the church event had been the last time anyone would see the Moores and the Stillinger sisters alive.  Sometime between midnight and 5 AM on June 11, 1912, an intruder broke into their home and bludgeoned all eight of the sleeping occupants to death with an axe.  Ross Moore, the first witness to the unspeakably gruesome scene, first discovered Ina, age 8, and Lena, age 11; Hank Horton, the primary peace officer of Villisca, found the rest of the victims.  The Moore’s four children, ages 11, 10, 7, and 5, as well as Sarah, age 39, had the same traumatizing damage dealt to them with the blunt side of the axe.  Only Josiah, age 43, had the blade of the axe used against him with marked excess.  Of all the victims, only little Lena tried to defend herself and flee before ultimately being struck down.

While the crime itself was horrific in of itself, as the police investigated the home they uncovered details left behind by the murderer that ranged from the macabre to the truly sinister.  All of the mirrors in the home had been covered by a shroud of some kind, as though the killer did not want to have to watch himself as he slaughtered the innocent family.  Likewise, all the victim’s heads and faces were carefully covered by their bedclothes.  A plate of untouched food and a bowl of bloody water sat on the kitchen table, and the murder weapon itself - an axe owned by Josiah Moore - was propped against the wall of the guest room where the Stillinger sisters were found.  But the most chilling clue of all was made in the attic, where the police found two burned-out cigarette butts.  This led investigators to believe that the killer or killers did not break into the Moore’s home during the night as they originally suspected, but had entered the home while the family was out, then hid in the attic to wait until the family went to bed before descending to commit the deed.

Over the next several years several people were looked at as possible suspects, but all ultimately resulted in dead ends.  The main person of interest was Reverend Lyn George Jackson Kelly, a traveling pastor who arrived in Villisca the morning before the murders.  He tended the same Sunday school festivities as the Moores and Stillingers, then departed the following morning.  He raised a few eyebrows by informing fellow train passengers that eight people had been murdered three hours before the bodies were discovered by Ross Moore.  Kelly returned to Villisca a few weeks later with a borderline obsession with the murders, going as far as posing as local law enforcement so he could tour the home.  He also wrote a series of letters detailing the events of the murders and sent them to the police and investigators.  The latter was hesitant to arrest him, though; it was speculated that Kelly suffered a mental breakdown in his youth which contributed to multiple behavioral issues and arrests for voyeurism and improper conduct towards women.  Investigators worried that his mental illness would make any of his testimonies questionable at best.  Kelly was eventually convicted of the murders in 1915 and tried twice, but a false confession in the first resulted in a hung jury and the second in an acquittal.

Another prominent suspect was Iowa State Senator Frank Jones.  Josiah Moore once worked for Jones, but their relationship soured when Moore left to go into business for himself.  Investigators theorized that Jones hired William “Blackie” Mansfield, a convicted murderer, to take out the Moore family, thus eliminating Jones’s business competition.  Mansfield had murdered his own family with an axe a year prior to the Villisca killings and was suspected to be linked to similar murders in Paola, Kansas and Aurora, Colorado.  However, an alibi put Mansfield in Illinois at the time of the Villisca murders.  Jones himself was never indicted for the crime, but the suspicion would follow him for the rest of his life.

Several other men, mostly transients through Montgomery County, were also looked at as possible suspects. One such man was Andrew Sawyer, who arrived in Villisca looking for work the same morning the murders took place.  He drew attention to himself with his interest in the murders and for his strange habits and mannerisms, which included sleeping with an axe at night.  Sawyer was never arrested as an alibi put him in Osceola, Iowa at the time the Moores and Stillinger girls were killed.  Another transient named Henry Lee Moore (no relation to the Moore family) was suspect when he murdered his own wife and grandmother with an axe several months after Villisca, as was German immigrant Paul Mueller who murdered an entire family with an axe in 1897 in West Brookfield, Massachusetts.  There was never enough evidence to link these men or any others to Villisca, and to this day, the murders of eight innocent people remains unsolved.
