Margays are small felines that spend most of their lives in the trees. Margays can rotate their ankles 180 degrees, allowing them to climb down trees headfirst. They have been observed jumping up to 12 feet horizontally and have been known to mimic the voices of infant monkeys so they can eat the parents.

As you probably already noticed, South America is very rich in different small feline species, so lot of them are specialised in some way or another:

The margay is adopted to hunting on the trees with being able to rotate all four of its ankles up to 180 degrees and using its long tail to balance.

The andean mountain cat indeed lives in the Andean mountains where it hunts mostly viscachas, a colonial, somewhat rabbit-like rodent. It shares its niche with the pampas cat, so it's not surprising they look quite similar.
