Okay so I'm adding another Taiwanese drama to my watch list: Trick or Love on Viki. It's a reunion of Marcus Chang and Eugenie Liu. Marcus sure does like to pick revenge dramas that lead to love. :-) I wonder if I'll need to rewatch Behind Your Smile afterwards.

(Alas, not a BL - they are love rivals for the same woman, the MC. I haven't finished it, but what I've seen was pretty cute. Sam Lin's character is quite different from Gao Shi De, more a comic relief type role.)

A gender bender romance melodrama that seriously goes over the top most of the time. The storyline doesn’t help it any, with a vengeful male lead and a doe eyed way to innocent, dimwit, yeah you know the type, female lead. You sort of roll with it at first and by midway the storyline forms a bit better, that is if you could last that long. Honestly it’s not that bad of a drama. I really like Marcus Chang’s dramas, I would have to say this would be my least favorite but still not the worst drama I’ve seen by far. There’s quite some doozies out there.

Taiwan bringing out the classic tropes this summer. Marcus Chang and Eugenie Liu in Trick or Love

CEO, fake dating, woman cross dressing and pretending to be a gay man, matchmaking grandma who just wants chubby little grandbabies, fake dating, sexually repressed lawyers, innocent plucky hardworking woman who protects her family, queerbaiting in the bts videos. Like what if it was coffee prince but the guy knew the girl was a girl and asked her to pretend to be his gay lover and also there is a revenge/childhood connection plot and the woman from the love triangle is nice and super hot and if she ends up single I'm flying to Taiwan to heal her broken heart and we get to watch GNC Eugenie Liu make Marcus Chang turn into a puddle of feelings as he learns to trust others for the first time in his 40+ years of life? This daily drama has me hooked and I keep having war flashbacks to Yorke Sun in V-Focus everytime his character is on screen.

Eugenie still has that vulnerability face that works overtime from Behind Your Smile but I LOVE when her character gets angry. Eugenie should play an evil career woman some time.

Alphonso and Sloane both work for the Commission on spirit-wrangling or whatever it is the commission does. They're a bit younger than Five (Sloane is 22, Alphonso is 20), and are roughly equivalent to Agent Day, for anyone familiar with the original comic. Basically, theyre there to snoop.

Marcus has some kind of band kid rivalry with Viktor. I don't know enough about band to determine what it is, but rest assured that they are very passionate about it.

Paranatural has vampires in it! I don't know what the deal is with vampires in paranatural so i wasn't going to include any, but specifically Fei and Jayme as vampires won me over. They probably spend their time trying to kill sparrow Ben.

Umbrella Ben and Sparrow Ben are both in this au! They're twins :)
