I almost like to think that Clockwork kind of half-sent Danny to the ghost-world version of Gotham because he was struggling and is honestly just a kid and could use some guidance. And with how the Observants dislike him to the point of murder, CW sure couldn't keep him in Long Now. But Gotham? Now there's a place that not many go, thanks to curses running amok, a very dangerous City Spirit, and amalgamations of fallen Guardians and Rogues. It's chaotic, dangerous, and a hell of a shot, but the Bat could, and most probably would assist the newborn guardian. The living world and the infinite are intertwined after all, influenced by whatever realm it drifts closest to.

Thankfully Danny seems to be enjoying himself- he has a proper ghost friend now! And he's starting to be able to understand Batblob's cacophony of Silent-EverSilent-Gurgles-DistantWhispers-QuietScreamsSilence easier too without Robin translating. (His Ghost-Speak is getting so good :D) He wishes he could bring Sam & Tucker but it's a little too far into the ghost zone. And the ghosts and Vlad doesn't bother him here! (The last time he tried, unknown to Danny, the older halfa was met with a malicious swarm of teeth and maws ready to rip and tear and not lose another child again-) He's even gotten shown the exits to the living-world's Gotham. Robin likes to ramble about the new and different living-robins and about their friend who was also a robin and who disappeared one day and whose core they carry on their belt. Maybe he can help them find out what happened to him...

I'm always flabbergasted by boomers who like to med shame by being like "oh, wow, you're on so many pills and you're so young" like okay and??? You think a handful of pills daily is worse compared to the 24/7 migraines and chronic sleep problems??? This shit has restored my youth to me. I am doing things that child me couldn't have done. I WROTE 50K IN A NOVEL AND I'VE GOT ANOTHER SERIES PLANNED THAT'S AT 10K WORDS AND I STARTED LAST FUCKING WEEK.

Not everything with my illnesses is 100% gone with meds but Gods do you know how fucking amazing I feel compared to the last 23 fucking years OF MY LIFE???

You mean I can get a normal amount of sleep like everyone else and not feel like i'm surviving off a two hour nap and a corndog??? You mean I can socialize and have fun and shit without feeling like my brain is on fire??? You mean I can be more active and accommodate my other disabilities easier??? AND IT'S JUST AT THE COST OF TWO TINY FUCKING PILLS EVERY NIGHT??? (There's more with supplements due to me still healing from celiac disease but my point still stands). I really feel like I'm getting the better end of the deal here. One of the side effects is literally a huge fucking benefit for me so the only actual negative side effect I get is dry mouth and meanwhile I get my energy, peace, and existence back? And you're telling me that taking that medicine is a BAD THING???

If you are still wary about getting aids and accommodations to help you (hell *I* still am), then remember that a mobility aid or a medication or an accommodation is to help YOU. It's not to make abled people feel comfortable. It's for YOU. YOU deserve to feel comfortable. YOU deserve to have a good life. YOU deserve to enjoy life and anyone who says you shouldn't because it looks weird can take huge fucking log and shove it right up their ass.

omg you are so right about the draco thing. SO RIGHT. like when in fics he becomes the virgin mary martyr version and starts BEGGING on his knees to, for example, ron and hermione, but also to harry, “i’ve been so bad, i’m so sorry, you can spit on me if you want, you’re so much braver and smarter and better than me”. OK NO. i can believe into a redemption arc, but up to a certain point. you can’t make him into someone he’s not.

i mean you actually can and other fic writers can, y’all are amazing and can write anything you want in the world. but it’s a no for me lmao

yeah that's a big no from me and the reason actually has nothing to do with characterization. i just don't want to see groveling in my love stories. it makes me intensely uncomfortable.

with draco and harry specifically, i feel after the end of the books the cards are stacked against draco wrt - family, friends, status, future, etc and i'm not interested in seeing harry who already has the lion's share of the power in this dynamic have even more. it's not compelling.

also draco has done far worse things to other people, so it makes little sense to me to have his redemption centered around whether harry forgives him / harry finds him worthy. forgiveness in general is a tricky concept bc no one's entitled to it no matter how much they repent and work for it, so it can't be the thing you base your growth and self-worth around. that has to come from where you're headed, but still, out of all the people he's hurt... harry's not even near the top of that list

the inverse of "draco needs to be better in order to deserve love" is "harry needs to do shitty things to draco in order to put them on even ground" and another one of my big nopes
