hey man. uh. you got some gay tragedy in your goofy children's film video game franchise adaptation. no no it's super easy to do so don't worry. it's just. yeah so my kid is watching zoomy multicoloured hedgehogs spewing gen alpha-relevant witticisms while saving the world, and I seem to be watching humanity's saddest evil henchman in a toxic codependent-yet-one-sided relationship pining after his repressed boss for three films before having his feelings reciprocated in front of the entire world and having the only truly good and selfless act his supervillain love interest has ever performed dedicated to him - essentially implying that the world and everyone on it owe their continued existence to his small acts of love and the effect they had on the man he loved. no it's not a problem. I just thought you should know. my kid loves the yellow one by the way - that's their favourite.

Sasha using the title "Lord" in RiAAU after taking over Toad Tower and presumably killing Grime and stealing Barrel's Warhammer from him, and other political and military leaders assuming she's a man because, well, Sasha is a gender neutral name, so they hear Lord Sasha and assume they're talking about an adult male toad warrior. The second most powerful person in the known world and only real threat to the Leviathan reign!

Cue princess Marcy fleeing Newtopia and her father seeking refuge with his worst enemy hoping to offer information and political levarage in exchange for protection, perhaps even offering herself in marriage to transfer eventual inheritances and whatnot, and she finds out that Lord Sasha is not, indeed, a dark and domineering toad warlord, but a beautiful, terrifying girl her age that looks like her and oh god her poor little lesbian heart can barely take it.

some ppl's reaction to MisMag is steadfastly *insisting* that it's a biting takedown of JKR and the Harry Potter world and like... I don't think that's accurate or healthy media analysis.

S1 was a satire of HP, sure, but you cant deny that it's also a love letter to the Harry Potter world. It's a fan work created by adults who have grown up and see flaws in the work itself as well as the author, so they made their own space to play in a similar world. If there was no love for HP, they wouldn't have created a world so obviously parodying it. If there was no love for the source material, it would have been a sad, mean-spirited show because it would've lacked caring.

idk. I have just seen a lot of the "anti-problematic-media" circles are still on this kick of retconning your own memories to free yourself of the burden of being associated with Bad Media. and that's just... really dumb and unhelpful, and I think actively bad for the psyche.

It's ok if you like(d) HP and Potter-inspired media. Thought crimes are not real. Donate to the Trevor Project or a local queer charity if the money aspect makes you feel guilty, but you can't magically (lol) scrub your history clean from association. You can't retcon reality.

Remembering a few Percy Jackson x Mother of Learning crossover posts (a few being two in this case) and considering what if it was a transmigration fic and instead of the two of them being demigods they end up the parents of demigods.

Zach sleeps with Aphrodite in disguise and doesn't think twice of it. Until his semi-divine son shows up

Zorian has very intelligent conversations with Athena in a museum (trying to not freak out at the divine mind that either overwhelms his senses or is completely inaccessible) and then has a daughter in a golden cradle on his doorstep.

The two of them freak out at having to be single parents but reach out to and support each other(Could get some good coparenting fluff from this), their children so much like them but also otherworldly & divine.

Then when their children start getting attacked by monsters they know what's going on and are able to help them actively help them with both magic training, spell formulas, and just being good guardians.

And then when they find out about the truth of the greek world and their children are invited to camp half blood they proactively involve themselves in whatever war is going on because there's no way in Hades that they're going to let their preteen kids fight for their lives without help.

Zorian and Zach rocket to the top and only compete with Sally Jackson in "best demigod parent & all the other demigods are jealous of their kids."

Cohabitation (a.k.a.. a List of Places Superman is Not Allowed to Go) 20.2.23

DC, Danny Phantom, Miraculous Ladybug, Megamind.

France is the big one.

Paris specifically, but all of France largely decided better safe than sorry, and stands in solidarity with her capital.

There is probably a small missive somewhere from Paris asking the Justice League for help when their supervillain first raised his head, the kind the JL got all the time and had thankfully ignored. Sent to them back before anyone really comprehended what might happen if someone who could turn normal civilians into supervillains with just some negative emotions got his hands on trained and practiced supers, and appropriately decided solving this would be best left to the miraculous team already working on it.

So the whole Justice League is banned from France, but especially Superman. Superman is somewhat known for being weak to magic and mind control, and the last thing anyone wants is to fight a magically mind controlled Superman with enough additional power on top of his own to make a whole extra super.

Another one is Metro City.

No-one is banned from Metro City, technically. It’s just understood that Metro City has one superhero, and one supervillain, and anyone else trying to insert themselves into things will be booted out quickly, fiercely, and with much prejudice by one of the two.

The JL might even be able to go there on vacation if they wanted to, so long as they stayed off the clock, but no-one really wants to find out.

It’s also understood that Metro City’s hero is like Superman if he was a millionaire with no weaknesses and speed to rival the Flash’s, and his villain can -regardless of never winning- somehow keep up with him. So if they want to be left alone to their city and their weirdly co-dependent relationship, then that is probably best for everyone.

Then there’s Amity Park.

Superman is actually the only hero banned from Amity Park, on pure account of almost every entity there having possession/mind control as a basic part of their power set.

Other than that, Amity Park wasn’t exactly ignored by the Justice League, it’s just that they were a small town with a specific problem, and their local hero -Danny Phantom- had it well in hand.

In fact Danny had it so well handled that eventually he became the Ghost King. A new High King of the Infinite Realms is a spammer in the works no matter how you look at it, and Danny’s beginning to poke his head out of his town to see what the rest of the world is doing.
