Looking at the current and projected next five years socioeconomic political situation as they apply to you and your family and economic prospects in the United States, and assuming that staying and emigrating are possible legally and financially (imagine a rich and powerful friend or family member in your destination country will help you get set up in your new area. Language classes and jobs will be offered if necessary)

As someone who has escaped the US, I have to beg people to stop fucking around with "If Trump wins I am leaving." This is the most ignorant of stances. You are the frog thinking they can wait until the pot "really starts to boil" to get out. It has taken many international flights, a pile of money, and almost a full year of work to make our escape from the US happen. If shit gets really bad, you aren't getting out. Do you really think Canada is just going to open its doors and let 15 million US refugees drive through its border? You better get all your documents sorted with apostille. Don't know what that is? Fucking figure it out because you need it. Get your FBI background check started NOW it takes months. What's going to happen when they get 10 times the volume of requests? Get your job offer, the family member who can apply for reunification, or a large amount of liquid cash sorted that you will need for your application. Figure out what country you are going to and start making a plan. Did you know to apply for a long-term stay visa for most countries you have to apply from inside the US and wait there to receive it? And you have to apply in person at the embassy or consulate. It takes weeks to months. It takes ages to move to another country even if you bring nothing but a suitcase and your paperwork. It takes a day for Trump to shut the door and make it so you can't leave. Why do you think so many Jews never made it out of Germany? Either they could not leave because they did not have the means to or they waited too long and the trap was shut. I am so incredibly sorry for my fellow Americans who can't leave. I know all the arguments that someone has to stay and fight. I deeply applaud those who can do that. I can't do that. This message is for the people naively thinking that if Trump wins again they can just leave. If you are staying and he wins you better prepare yourself to be one of those who fights because you won't be leaving. Wake up.

May all of you reading this who are concerned about a second Trump presidency, have stability, comfort, and blessings in your life that not even he will be able to take away from you.
Also, may all the people in your life who will try to spend the next four years threatening to move to 🍁Canada🍁 every single time they have even the most minor inconvenience just do us all a favor and fucking leave already.

At what point do I start seriously considering moving to Canada? If Trump wins? If Project 2025 passes? After that? I have citizenship.

trying to move to canada is extremely difficult to figure out and navigate and the only option that could work is having a partner there to live with. I can't find any apps that let me change my location to the potential city of moving. they're all current location based
for example, the bumble app has that travel option but it's so expensive! I can't afford that. (also browsing incognito) why are simple things so expensive! are there any free options?! how do you browse and possibly meet people in new locations without paying for it 😭
i've never dated and struggle to find and make friends, so jm absolutely clueless and don't know where to begin. posting this here probably does nothing though lmao why am i bothering...
where are all the autistic/adhd, LGBTQ, nerdy Canadians who want to create a found family at? 😆 there's 3 of us. we need one more! I require a life partner (or in legal terms, a "conjugal partner") to sponsor me so I can move to canada. my closet friends are there and they really want me to move in with them (and also help out financially so they can escape bad life situations) they're a couple though so they can't help with the partner sponsoring thing. and another income would also help us a lot. and it would, in general, be nice to have a partner of my own I suppose.
I have never dated and i'm asexual and aromantic of some sort (probably like demi or something so I can't get on board with just anyone which makes it harder) i have no clue where to meet cool ainfle Canadians that match my energy. i'm very picky, but at a minimum, I need a preferably autistic/adhd, LGBTQ (trans/nonbinary/etc, bi/pan/gay, preferably also aro/ace, preferably not cis men unless soft and cute and feminine and basically gender nonconforming of some sort😅), a big nerd, goofy and has sense of humor and likes to laugh and be silly, open minded and empathetic and loyal, not allergic to cats or can live with allergies like me, can work pitch in to living expenses. that's my bare minimum (and it's still very picky and difficult) I don't need a traditional dating partner. just a life partner that I click with like I did my two friends I want to move in with 😭 we just need a 4th person that matches us and can legally partner with me to get me there😅

Hey! I've got a GoFundMe I'm trying to get off the ground. My grandparents told me that if I began HRT in their home they'd kick me out, so I've been trying to save money to move up to Canada. I've got friends there who are willing to house and support me, and the paperwork is mostly done, so all I need help with is the transportation and the trip itself. Any amount would be extremely helpful!

How about we just have like... hey trans people, post your pay links or wishlist or whatever you got. No limits, no trans excluded, intersex welcome, any and all genders off the social conventions included. I'll just reblog em a bunch.
I need a reblog to share your info, please use those, not comments or tags. I try to reblog immediately every instance I see between 10am and 10pm, everything else goes into the queue.
Additionally, Reddit is known to have further donation resources, some of which are outlined and linked in this post.

Canadian police brace for 'worst-case scenario' of asylum-seekers fleeing Trump
https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canadian-police-brace-worst-case-scenario-asylum-seekers-fleeing-trump-2024-11-08/ Ron started talking moving to Canada right after the election was called.  I explained to him all the reasons we couldn’t do it.  We are at the point now where unless we win the lottery we are going to die in Florida.  On the forums I read the feelings are the same, many want…

Border Issues and News stuff
Last time the sentient spray tan ignoramus won the election there were reports of families freezing to death on the Can-USA border a couple of miles from where I live. People were terrified. It's only going to be worse this time around. I'm scared but luckily climate change has helped make sure it's warmer this year. It's still a bad situation and the border towns are going to need help with the on coming influx. I'm reaching out to my trans friends online who live down south but, man, if everyone who is vulnerable flees that really doesn't spell out good things for the ones who can't. There's too many things to think about. And too many people in danger.

What is the Cheapest Day to Move a House?
Do you ever get confused over which day is the penny-pinching choice for shifting homes? The hassle of moving and rapidly rising expenses can get out of hand. Not to worry, though, we have some smart tips to ease the financial load on your big day.
Tumblr media
Why do Moving Costs Vary by Day?
The Weekend Premium
At first glance, weekends look ideal for moving. You don't have work, there's no hurry, and plenty of time to finish tasks. But this is what makes it pricey. Everyone prefers the comfort of a Saturday or Sunday, and Moving Companies are aware. Thus, they increase their charges.
Midweek Magic
On the flip side, if you can swing it, moving midweek can save you a bundle. Tuesday and Wednesday are typically the cheapest days to move. Why? Simply because fewer people choose these days. Most folks are busy with work or school, so demand drops and so do the prices. Plus, you're more likely to get the movers you want without having to book months in advance.
How to Choose the Best Day for Your Move?
Flexibility Pays Off
Shifting your moving date can result in substantial savings. So, consider off-peak days if your timetable permits. It's true, moving on a Tuesday morning may be inconvenient, but the benefits in savings could be impressive.
Plan Around Holidays
Staying clear of busy seasons is a wise tactic. Relocating near big holidays such as Christmas or in the summertime may cost more. And removal firms are sought after, so their tariffs exhibit this. Alternatively, think about relocating in the middle of the month or during the winter season when there's less demand.
Score Sweet Savings on Your Move
Savvy movers know the secret to cutting costs - timing is everything! Many Removal Companies in Cardiff and beyond offer awesome deals for midweek moves. So why not take advantage? Simply ask about discounts for Tuesday or Wednesday bookings. You might just unlock some sweet, hidden specials.
More Money-Saving Magic
Pack It Yourself
Want to keep more cash in your pocket? Take on the packing yourself! Sure, it's a bit of work, but the money you'll save makes it totally worth it. Plus, you get full control over how your precious belongings are packed and prepped for the journey.
Lighten Your Load
Here's a pro tip - declutter before the big day! The less stuff you have to move, the smaller your bill. Host a yard sale or donate items to charity. Not only will your wallet thank you, but you'll feel lighter and more ready for your fresh start.
Shop Around, Negotiate
Don't just go with the first quote you get. Reach out to multiple House Removals Companies and compare prices and services. A little negotiation can go a long way in scoring a sweeter deal. You've got nothing to lose by asking!
Final Words
Want to save a lot on your relocation? Can't wait to start and save some bucks? Try scheduling your trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and see how the price drops. You can go for a removals company in Cardiff during the week, be adaptable with your schedule, and don't hesitate to bargain. Hence, with clever strategizing, your shift can be effortless and gentle on your wallet.
