hey remember the Gregory Becomes The Dev- I Mean God AU
yeah man crazy shit
Really wanna emphasize the insanity Gregory is doing bc imagine you have the power to change ANYTHING about the universe, and in fact you DO change exactly TWO things, but you leave the rest the same because you're not trying to create a perfect world; you're trying to recreate the world before that One Thing happened for your own comfort. And if you change anything else then the world will be unrecognizable from the experience you want to return to.
LIKE BUDDY ALL YOUR HOMIES ARE STILL TRAUMATIZED, YOU DON'T WANNA AT LEAST MAKE THEIR LIVES SLIGHTLY BETTER? LIKE IDK MAKE IT SO HOPPER MET HIS KIDS EARLIER SO THEY'RE NOT TRAUMATIZED? OR MAKE IT SO ROSEMARIE AND ROSS WEREN'T FUCKED UP BY THEIR PARENTS SO THEY DIDN'T CONTINUE THE CYCLE WITH FRANCIS? BUDDY!
At least he's hot tho. I imagine he's hot

bkak detective au.
PI bokuto koutarou and his roommate akaashi keiji..
more thoughts (first meeting) belo w..
pplease take my pathetic attempt at narrative as i try to beam my vision to you in my brain 😊,,,
--- --- --- ---
Akaashi's legs are tired from walking.
"Do you need to sit down for a second?"
"No, I'm alright."
Despite this, he still refuses to stop moving, following at a brisk pace beside his old classmate, Konoha Akinari, who'd been living in the capital for some time now.
It was clear by the way he walked and maneuvered his way through the bustling streets that Konoha had grown accustomed to the crowds and the noise, things that only made Akaashi grit his teeth in silent displeasure as they continued their way through the city.
It hadn't started off that way, of course. Lunch had been pleasant. The atmosphere of the restaurant was different from what Akaashi was used to, but it was a good kind of different. In fact, he'd even found himself dazzled by the sights and the people.
It wasn't until they started walking towards Konoha's old housing complex that the charm of the city started to settle down on him in an unpleasant way. There were too many people, too many streets, too many noises. He isn't used to this feeling of excess, and his head is swimming by the time Konoha says, Just around this corner.
Akaashi figures he's done a great job at masking his discomfort, as the two of them don't stop for a minute until they reach the door of a single apartment building, the city's presence receding ever so slightly into the background as Konoha rounds on Akaashi, hands on his hips.
"I already warned you, my ex-roommate's a bit of a weird guy. Nice, but weird. I'm already sort of wondering why I thought this would be an okay idea..."
Akaashi blinks, nods. Idly adjusting his glasses with an index finger, he clears his throat before responding.
"I just need a place to stay for a few days while I sort out permanent housing. It's very nice of your ex-roommate to have offered the space."
"Well, I don't know about nice..."
Akaashi would only find out later that this mysterious ex-roommate was having trouble with rent.
"Shall we let him know we're here? We're already a few minutes late."
"...Right."
As Konoha takes his time knocking on the door, Akaashi's mind clears enough to recall Konoha's previous testimony regarding this ex roommate of his.
First of all, he'd told Akaashi, I'm only telling you about this place because you're in immediate need of lodging. But just so you can't say I didn't warn you, the guy is a little eccentric.
That was how Konoha had framed his warning, and while many of the things he'd stated afterwards about this roommate (that he was messy, that he was loud, that he snored like crazy, got into strange moods where he wouldn't speak to Konoha for days -- "I won't lie, those weren't bad times." -- only to shake him awake to talk about some incomprehensible subject) would have normally dissuaded Akaashi from even considering sharing a living space with the man, there was one thing that Konoha mentioned about his ex-roommate that piqued Akaashi's interest.
"HEY, HEY, HEY! If it isn't Konoha!"
With a burst of energy as loud as the bang! that accompanied the thrown-open door, comes a presence as bombastic as Akaashi had been warned to anticipate.
"And how's the great detective been doing lately?"
Konoha looks as tired as Akaashi feels the second his ex-roommate makes his appearance, giving him a wry smile and a half wave.
The man in front of them is too much to take in all at once, but it isn't his stature that Akaashi latches on to first, nor is i the shock of white hair upon his head.
It's the way the other man beams at the title that was most assuredly stated sarcastically, the one piece of information that made Akaashi's trek through the city worth it, that little tidbit that caught his eye during Konoha's 30 minute public advisory warning given several days before, that simple turn of phrase -- great detective.
"Busy! I'm busy all the time! But, hey, is this the guy you were telling me about? Akashi something or othe -"
"Akaashi. Akaashi Keiji," he says. "It's nice to meet you."
There's a small moment of silence as Bokuto looks Akaashi up and down. He isn't subtle about it at all, the way he gives Akaashi a once over from head to toe. Through it all, Bokuto's smile never once falters, and Akaashi's cool expression never once breaks. The only one who seems to have any sort of change in demeanor is Konoha, whose face is morphing into something close to panic the longer the silence continues.
This was a terrible idea, wasn't it? To allow someone like Akaashi - always composed, proper, quiet - anywhere near a loudmouthed character like Bokuto who would almost certainly drive him up the wall. Why had Konoha thought it would be okay, even though Akaashi had -- strangely -- agreed to meet with his ex-roommate, who had him out the door in a measly one and a half months?!
And yet-
"Soon as you wanna."
The question is asked too quickly and answered too quickly for Konoha's liking, because he's immediately putting up his hands and yelling, "Wait, wait, wait!!"
First, to Akaashi.
"You remember what I said about this guy, right? He keeps an irregular schedule, and he'll pop in to your room unannounced whenever he pleases, and he's not the neatest person to share a space with and-"
Then, to Bokuto, with an accusatory finger.
"You should at least let him know what he's getting into if he stays here. All the clients and the late nights and the bl-"
"Of course, of course," Bokuto says with a smile, unbothered by the picture that Konoha is painting of himself to a complete stranger. He gestures towards the interior of the apartment. "Come on in! We shouldn't talk about things like this outside. Besides-"
His eyes meet Akaashi's once again before he heads into his abode.
"- Akaashi's real tired from walking."

something like that... ssomething like that!!!!!!! more notes um..
i'm not set on time period but i do like the idea of 20s-30s.. golden age.. ??? they could work in a modern setting too though-
akaashi is from outside of tokyo, but moved in order to be closer to work (udai met him while he was out on a research trip and brought akaashi on as a temp editor. after accepting a fulltime position working with udai, he makes his move to tokyo)
bokuto and konoha were college roommates but it was kind of short lived because konoha could NOT keep up with the antics and wound up living w/ sarukui .. boy best friends
bokuto would have done boxing in college :]c (i think boxing suits him well as an individual sport.. + holmes reference..)
i like the image of kenma being an informant who sends kuroo to bokuto's place to relay info (because he doesn't have the energy to talk to bokuto for long HERJSDF-)
okay thats my delulu if you read all of that hiiii 😋
#bokuto koutarou#akaashi keiji#bokuaka#haikyuu#bkak detective au#i will .. probably.. potentially.. post.. more.. about it.. maybe...#why else.. would i make a tag for it .. smile s..--#NAURRR my blog theme sticks all the pictures at the BOTTOM OF THE POST?!??!#pleas read on mobile / dash sniffl#i'll have to go hunt for a better theme later

you know what. WRIGHTWORTH IN HIGH SCHOOL AU
HERE IT IS FINALLY HOLY SHIT
Endless pining is my specialty I hope you enjoy the sillies
----
Miles was, embarrassingly, pretty sure that he'd fallen in love with his very best friend.
Since that class trial at the beginning of fourth grade, they'd become pretty inseparable. Phoenix was grateful to both Miles and Larry equally (which always led to Larry landing them in hot water and Miles having to bail them out of it), but things always seemed warmer, for lack of a better word, when it was just Miles and Phoenix. Even after Franziska entered their lives and took up most of his time, as Miles had a duty to be a good big brother to her (and she was, in all honesty, more of a handful than her small and delicate stature let on), he would always drop everything and come running whenever Phoenix called his name.
Something about Phoenix was just so inspiring. He listened so attentively when Miles talked about law and being a defence attorney and any other books he read. He had such an honest, straightforward way of looking at things that provided a valuable and very needed alternative perspective. Miles liked hearing Phoenix's thoughts on every single subject they discussed, no matter how simple or complex they could get. Hearing Phoenix talk at all was always nice, liable to send that tingling warmth throughout Miles' whole body. He had to fight down the constant urge to hold Phoenix's hand when they stood beside one another, had to break himself out of daydreaming up possible scenarios where he would get to hug his friend, or kiss him, or even ask him to join him on this journey to becoming an attorney.
So, yes. Miles was sure he was in love with his best friend. And he was entirely out of his depth.
Love seemed so foreign a concept, despite how easily it seemed to come to Larry and Phoenix both. The two had their crushes on plenty of the girls in their schools, but Miles never quite understood their reasoning when he asked them to explain it. Writing mushy love letters seemed a waste of time when he could be studying or reading more about law. He could also spend that time better by playing with his adopted sister. Or talking with his two very good friends. Mooning over someone to the point Larry always did, where he was prone to making a fool of himself with grand gestures (and always roping Phoenix in to help), never seemed like a great use of his time.
Miles supposed it wouldn't be falling in love without a little incomprehensible messiness. He'd read enough case files to know people went absolutely nutty for the ones they declared to love.
But all those cases were far too extreme. He needed to gather evidence, first and foremost. Then he could identify how exactly to build his own case here.
He went first to Mister Shields, who, despite being as ridiculous as Larry about the matter, was an adult at the least. (Miles had to ask his dad about dinner plans anyway, as the firm was working a tricky case and Miles wanted to make beef stroganoff again to cheer his dad up. It always worked.) It was pretty easy to find Mister Shields at the office on any day, but especially right now since Miles' dad took Miss Fey with him on the investigation this time. Approaching Mister Shields' desk, Miles opened with a blunt, "How can you tell you've fallen in love, Mister Shields?"
"Miles, bud!" Mister Shields laughed in good humour, as usual. He patted the top of Miles' head, mussing up Miles' hair, also as usual. "Not even a, 'hi, hello'? You're so much like your pops."
Miles pushed his hand away, growing sheepish at the unintentional praise. "Sorry. It's nice to see you, Mister Shields."
"So you think you've fallen in love, eh? Unless this is about me and my many affairs again."
Mister Shields grinned at him mischievously and Miles huffed at him. "I didn't say either of those. I'm just curious. You're always being foolish around other women and Larry's the same, so I wanted to try and understand it better. Why do you do those things?"
Mister Shields laughed some more, clearly not believing his intellectual curiosity. "Well, I'm not sure I'm the one to help you out here, Miles."
Miles frowned in confusion. "Why not?"
Mister Shields seemed like the perfect one to explain it, always getting distracted by the female witnesses and defendants. Just like Larry. He still went to visit Miss Kate and Mister Masters every so often, so his infatuation at least lasted longer than Larry's. Was he being facetious the whole time? That was rather cruel of him towards those ladies he flirted with, then. He said, "Each case of love is a lot like the trials your father takes on, with their own unique causes and players and bodies of evidence. Sometimes you can't help but fall for their beauty, other times it's their wit and charm that attracts you. And, if you're real lucky, sometimes it's them who falls for you."
Miles gave a dissatisfied hum. He did find Phoenix pretty beautiful and enjoyed the other boy's cleverness. "But how can you tell?" He insisted.
"All the usual signs." Mister Shields grinned suddenly, gearing up to really tease Miles. "Butterflies in your stomach when you're around them, wanting to do things just to make them smile and feel nice, thinking about them all the time, things like that."
"But. Aren't those all normal things to have and think around your friend?"
Miles' frown deepened. He was three for three on these supposed signs. An unease took root in his shoulders at the possible answer he had to face here. Mister Shields laughed and said, "They can be, absolutely. There ain't any rules against falling in love with your best friend, you know. In fact, in a lot of cases, it can be even better."
All this evidence stacking up against Miles wasn't great. "Love sounds far too complicated to be worth it." He mumbled in defeat.
"Chin up, bud." Mister Shields encouraged him. "Love can be a wonderful thing despite how scary it can seem at first. If you wanna follow in your dad's footsteps, you can't let a little thing like this bring you down. Face it head on, as if it were a difficult case."
"What do you think I'm doing right now?" Miles asked in a huff. Mister Shields just laughed at him and he sighed. It sounded silly, but it was pretty good advice. Mister Shields was good at sounding ridiculous while imparting actually useful advice. "Thank you, Mister Shields. I'll keep what you said in mind."
"C'mon, Miles. You gotta tell me who the lucky person is." Mister Shields said, getting a bit too eager to weedle this out of him. "I bet your old man would love to know his son's developed a crush, too. I promise I'll only tease you as much as any older brother might."
Rolling his eyes, Miles gave a parting, "Goodbye, Mister Shields."
Mister Shields continued laughing boisterously as Miles left the office and headed home. He could ask his father about dinner plans later. At the very least he had an answer now, even if it wasn't an ideal one. He was pretty sure about it to begin with, of course, but the confirmation beyond a shadow of a doubt was nice to have. Falling in love with his very best friend brought up a whole multitude of issues. Such as the fact that he'd only ever seen Phoenix and Larry get their crushes on girls, leaving Miles as the odd one out. (There was no way he would emulate either of their behaviours here. He absolutely refused.) Miles had no idea how to go about confessing to this crush, either.
Once home, he found Franziska laying across the floor and reading a book. Her favourite place to be when she and Larry weren't getting up to all kinds of mischief. He had to really talk with Larry about encouraging his little sister to break things when they were too wound up to sit still. Miles greeted her with an informative, "Father is still out on his case, so we can wait a while longer to start on dinner. Have you finished all your schoolwork all ready?"
"Have you?" She fired back, not even phased. Her wickedly sharp words were always a delight to parry. At least, so long as she didn't aim directly for his head. Her mischief was more likely to get Phoenix in trouble half the time, though, meaning Miles got maybe too used to deflecting her strikes. She hopped onto her knees and asked, "Why did you go all the way out to the office, anyway? If you really wanted to ask papa Edgeworth about dinner plans, then you should have called him."
He smiled wryly at how immediately she could call him out. He sat down on the floor beside her and admitted, "I had a question for Mister Shields, actually."
"Was it about how foolishly you've been acting lately?"
She frowned up at him, arms crossed over her chest as she judged him as harshly as a nine-year-old could. Which was quite a lot, she had a really good glare. (Got it from her real father, no doubt. Miles didn't remember too much about the man, having only seen him a handful of times while watching his father fight against him in Mister Masters' trial.) It was more familiar, too; Miles remembered how many times he'd been told by his teachers to quit glaring at everyone, that it was why he never could really make friends outside of Phoenix and Larry. In a quiet sort of admission, he said, "Love is pretty foolish, I agree. But maybe it's not entirely a bad thing."
"Ah-ha! I knew it." She crowed in triumph.
She leapt to her feet as she preened, taking advantage of their positioning in order to be taller than him for a moment. Miles shook his head at her childishness, though he said fondly, "Yes, you're very clever indeed."
"Don't patronise me. Anyone could see that you've been a fool for ages. I'm just proud you're finally admitting it to yourself." She gave a haughty little sniff, then sat back down and locked him in her intense stare. "Now, tell me everything about how this is turning your mind to rubbish. With any luck, I can offer my services in helping to set you up with him. You're positively helpless on your own, after all."
Miles laughed. "Ziska, you can't tell me you've got it all figured out."
"Why not? It's such an easy answer that it's not even a challenge worthy of my superior intellect." She tossed her head back, then glared at him once more. "But it'd be too easy if I said it for you. Admit it with your own mouth, Miles."
She cranked up that intimidation to the max. Phoenix and Larry both professed to it being a harrowing thing, and even Miles couldn't refute how uncomfortable it was to be locked down by it. But really, she was far too cute for it to have much of an effect on Miles or his father. Not that Miles would ever tell her as much. He preferred not being chased around for an hour by a rampaging Franziska. As casually as he could, he said, "Fine. I'm pretty sure that I've fallen for my best friend."
Saying it aloud was weird. Like there was no way to take back that declaration now that it was out in the open. Miles wasn't sure he was okay with that. Franziska made a noise in an overblown disgust, even sticking her tongue out. "Pretty sure? Miles, you are very foolish if you can't even recognise how foolishly you've fallen."
"And you're far too precocious for someone who's barely entering fifth grade."
She crossed her arms in a huff and said, "For as long as I've known you, you have been a fool for that even more ridiculous fool Phoenix Wright. That you're only realising it now just goes to show how much of a fool you truly are."
In spite of himself, he fell into a pout. "You don't have to call him by his full name every time. You don't do that to me or Larry."
"There is no other way to address him that would properly convey how much of a fool that boy is."
She huffed once more and Miles could see he wasn't about to convince her. Had he really always been in this sort of love with Phoenix? Of course he loved Phoenix, the other boy was his friend. But romantic love? It was harder to tell that since there was no way to distance himself from the question. Since he had nothing better to say, he gave the obvious, "Phoenix is my best friend."
"Which is why you continue to be so clueless." Franziska leaned back as she sighed in a long and dramatic display of her exasperation. Then she swiped up her book as she stood and gave him a condescending little pat on the shoulder. "Don't concern yourself so much with how hopeless you are. It is my duty as your sister to assist you in these sorts of matters, which is much better than you rightly deserve. But even my stupid brother should have a chance to be stupidly happy with his equally stupid friend."
"You just want to make fun of me some more." Miles argued, brushing her hand off his shoulder.
"Well, that's just the compensation I'm owed from putting up with all your foolishness."
She grinned sharply at him, his only warning for her incoming mischief, and he scrambled to his feet to give chase as she rushed off. She managed to grab his phone out of his bag and composed several over the top and sappy texts, all of which she sent to Phoenix with her signature all over them. Miles ended up laughing too hard to stop her sooner. It was all in good fun, anyway. Phoenix and Larry both had to be used to her hijacking hid phone by this point.
Right as they were preparing to get things out for dinner, their father returned with good news on the investigation. Miss Fey couldn't join them this time, so Miles and Franziska both helped as best they could in preparing dinner with their father. As they all laughed and had fun, Miles put the matter of this whole crush on his best friend to the side. He could always talk more about it with Phoenix later.
//
Phoenix had Larry pretty beat in their game when his phone chimed.
"Ooh, mister popular." Larry teased him immediately.
Phoenix rolled his eyes and finished their match, much to Larry's chagrin, then set aside his controller in order to check what it was. "It's probably my mom wanting me back home. Or Miles. His dad's on this pretty difficult case right now and he said he'd keep me updated."
"Ugh, you guys are such nerds."
Larry threw his own controller up in the air as he collapsed backwards with a dramatic groan. Ever the ridiculous one. Phoenix giggled at him, but when he saw the texts were indeed from Miles, his heart did skip a beat. It was silly, this was probably nothing more than some neat insights into the legal world, and yet more and more recently, he enjoyed any excuse to chat with his very best friend.
As he read the text, however, his giddiness fell to confusion. This was decidedly not Miles texting him. Judging by how often they called him a fool, it was undoubtedly Franziska.
Which made it all the stranger that it was a declaration of love and friendship that Phoenix was a fool for not taking more seriously.
Too curious to leave him be, Larry sat up to peek over Phoenix's shoulder at the screen and asked, "Is it your mom? D'ya have to go home now?"
Phoenix smiles in the end. No use overthinking it when it was just another one of Franziska's crazy pranks. "Nah, it's Franziska. She says I'm not worthy of being Miles' best friend."
Larry frowned at him, incredulous. "Dude, Ziska doesn't even have a phone."
"She hijacks Miles' all the time, Larry. Mostly to text you, I'm pretty sure."
"Wait, that was her?"
Larry scrambled to get his own phone and Phoenix laughed at his silliness. Before Phoenix could send any replies, he got another message. Then two more. She was really on a roll. Each one was more obviously her than the last and he appreciated her enthusiasm, but her lack of any tact was definitely more than a little suspicious.
"I guess that explains why Edgey would send me messages calling me a fool until he hit the character limit." Larry sighed, tucking his phone away and rubbing the side of his head in annoyance. "Man, if she'd coordinated this with me better, we could'a totally caught Edgey by surprise for his last birthday."
Phoenix shook his head at the memory. "Miles reads his texts, you know."
"That's another thing! He could'a told me it wasn't him. Why didn't he tell me she got his phone?"
"Maybe he knows you're smart enough to figure it out by yourself."
Larry groaned and flopped back over dramatically. Then he looked straight at Phoenix, suddenly no nonsense, and said, "So. You gonna do anything about what she told you?"
It always caught Phoenix unawares when he'd do this. Phoenix had to remind himself that Larry was mostly a goofball as a deliberate choice. He shrugged and said, "I mean, it's only according to her. She likes to mess with us."
She and Larry were usually the only ones to find their insane pranks funny. They were actually pretty scary when they teamed up, able to understand each other on a level of chaos beyond the rest of the world's comprehension. Franziska's ideas had no limits and Larry was a filthy enabler as long as he found the bit funny enough. Larry shook his head and said, "This is too mean spirited to be just a prank. C'mon, Nick."
"Mean spirited is how I'd describe her on her best day." Phoenix grumbled.
Larry hoisted himself up to meet Phoenix's level and said, "Fine. But you can't keep running away from it forever."
Confused, Phoenix asked, "Running away from what?"
"Don't play dumb here, Nick. You might be able to get away with that with Edgey, but not me." Larry grinned suddenly, goofy and worryingly confident. "You've been crushing on Edgey since we first met. Aren't you happy to hear he likes you back?"
"Wh-What?"
Though he was no doubt blushing from how much embarrassment flooded him, Phoenix huffed indignantly at his ridiculous friend. He hadn't been crushing on Miles that long. He'd had plenty of crushes, but none of them were on his best friend. (At least, that was his story and he was sticking to it until he died.) Larry tilted his head from side to side as he went on, thinking things over aloud. "I mean, you totally deserve someone way less of a stick in the mud than Edgey. Then again, you liked that girl Daria so I guess there's no accounting for taste. And I guess they say opposites do attract. Like fire and water, bread and butter."
How were bread and butter opposites? Phoenix said sternly, "I don't have a crush on Miles."
"Yes you do." Larry rejected him point black. Which, fair. He had Phoenix on that point. It was still annoying. "Ooh, you should totally let me help you confess to him, since he's getting help from Ziska on his. I'm great at making up memorable and grand romantic gestures. Just as Lisabelle! She was so into me while we were together."
Giving up for now on convincing Larry otherwise (he could be surprisingly stubborn about the worst things), Phoenix interjected quickly. "No, Larry, I'm good on my own here. I also remember how you and Lisabelle broke up."
Larry hung his head in defeat a moment before springing right back up and into action. "So, what's your plan here, then? You gotta say something, it'd be real awkward to just leave it hanging in the air between you two. Please tell me you got at least half a plan, Nick."
"I don't, because Miles and I are happy being just friends and that's it." Phoenix tried one last time.
"But you're missing out on so much more potential!" Larry shouted, throwing his hands up in the air. "Think of all the cuddling you two could be doing. The smooching! You could hold his hand like ten times more often."
"Okay, okay!" Phoenix shushed him, glancing fearfully towards the room door. He had no other choice to resign himself to this, didn't he? Sighing, he said in a much more defeated tone, "I don't know if I should plan it out. I'd rather it happen naturally, forcing it would just make it weird, you know?"
Miles was his best friend. What if he ended up finding Phoenix weird for this whole crush thing? Phoenix sighed again at the thought of it.
"Besides, you know me and plans don't mix."
Larry let his head loll back in agreement on that one. "You're like the luckiest unlucky person in the world."
Phoenix nodded tiredly in agreement. It was a fair assessment. Any time he ran into a worst case scenario (like getting such bad food poisoning on his birthday that he was out for two whole days, or that class trial which started it all), he'd also end up better off than anyone expected (Miles became his friend, they got those Signal Samurai charms for each other, they got to attend the same school and mostly stuck in the same classes). His mom called it the Wright curse jokingly, since his dad apparently used to have the same sort of wildly fluctuating luck.
"Well, you gotta at least try something." Larry went on, insistent on wringing out every single one of Phoenix's misgivings on this matter. "Edgey's just as crazy about you as you are for him. Ziska ain't playing here."
"How would you know?" Phoenix asked in a huff.
"C'mon, Nick. I know you're so dense that you missed every signal Lilah was throwing at you, but you can't tell me you haven't noticed how much Edgey's into you."
Larry levelled him with that too serious look again and Phoenix shied away. His phone buzzed again and he took the distraction gratefully. It was actually from Miles this time, apologising for Franziska's rapid fire texts and promising a chance to talk about this new breakthrough his father made in his case. Notably, he didn't mention anything about the contents of those texts; he probably knew Phoenix was smart enough to discredit them as Franziska's doing.
Larry scooted over to read over his shoulder again. Phoenix's throat went dry all of a sudden, closing up at the thought of addressing something so daunting as this thing he never wanted to even admit to.
"I just. I don't want to assume anything." He said in a mumble.
Larry rested his chin onto Phoenix's shoulder. "You're scared of everything going tits up like it usually does for you." He clarified.
Phoenix frowned at him a moment, then went back to staring at his phone. If he spoke it into existence, then it became real. There'd be no taking it back. "What if he thinks it's too weird?" He asked, grasping for any excuse he could. "You know he's never understood it when you or me had a crush on someone. What if he decides it's too awkward being my friend anymore?"
"You never know until you try." Larry pointed out.
Phoenix put his phone away and stood, upsetting Larry's position. "I should get home before mom starts worrying."
"Oh, come on, Nick!" Larry shouted, flopping onto the floor. "Where's that fighting spirit you always got? Charge on ahead like you usually do, act first and think later."
"It deserves more thought that our usual brainless approach." Phoenix protested in return.
He shook his head and left Larry's house, pausing to say goodbye to Larry's parents. They were always nice, even when he and Larry were being way too rowdy like they were. As he walked home, Phoenix worried at his lip and thought this over some more. Of course Larry would want to help. Of course Franziska would, too. They were friends, they had the best intentions. But this was way too delicate of a matter to leave it to them. It was too delicate a matter to leave to Phoenix, really! Yet he had no choice but to figure it out himself, considering it was mostly his problem to begin with.
No, that wasn't fair. It wasn't a problem, it was Miles. Nothing about Miles could ever really be a problem. Not when he was so wonderful and smart and Phoenix really was too far gone for him by this point.
He didn't pull his phone back out until he was safely at home and in his room. Larry was right, even if Phoenix was loathe to admit it. There really was no better way to know how this would turn out unless he asked. Letting that question hang in the air between them would be so much worse than ripping that blanket right off.
It took him at least a minute to punch in his statement: "If we're being serious here, then I think I'd like being your boyfriend."
He stared at it for another minute or two, then braced himself and sent it. There, bandaid ripped right off. No taking it back now.
Waiting for a response was just as agonising. He wanted to both toss his phone across his room so he wouldn't check it obsessively and to shove it beneath his pillow so he could at least hear when Miles responded. If Miles even would respond. It was dinner time now, so there was a good chance Miles wouldn't even see his text until later.
He had to put it out of his mind. He had to so something else for a while.
He went and joined his mom in the end, helping her finish up dinner preparations. He wasn't as good as Miles was in the kitchen (or Franziska, who was way too fast at learning what Miles' dad taught them), but he could follow her direction and do enough. He could even manage his weird luck enough to not make a disaster of things. That had to count for something.
As he settled into bed for the night, he saw he did get a reply. His whole body froze, but he pushed past that dread and read Miles' reply.
"If it's all right with you, I think we should discuss this more in-person. Sleep well, Phoenix."
It was both nerve-wracking and hopeful at the same time. It could end really, really badly, or it could turn out just fine. Phoenix was tempted to send back something more, to pour out all of these things swirling around in him, but he supposed they could do that more efficiently tomorrow. Hopefully. Maybe. Gosh, he hoped Miles wasn't about to crush all his hopes here.
Things would be fine. They had to be. Miles was his best friend here.
What he ended up sending was a simple, "Sounds good! Seeya tomorrow!"
Then he pushed his phone onto his nightstand and wrapped himself up into his blanket, resolving to fall asleep and not think about it any longer.

how the genshin boys are as seatmates 2 (and their first interactions with you)
settings. modern!au, highschool!au. gn!reader (majority), fluff scenario. school was a boring place to be, but your seatmate definitely made time pass a lot quicker. *.、xiao, kaeya, al haitham
part 1 : zhongli, childe, thoma, diluc, itto, scaramouche, ayato
xiao even though the two of you sat elbow-to-elbow, the boy rarely made out any words with you. xiao was a quiet, focused student that didn't like to be distracted during his work. when group assignments were arranged, he was the usually one to request the task's solo completion. upon all the discouragement, you often bothered him with your curious interrogations. unforeseen to most, he would almost always immediately respond. even if the answers to your questions echoed around the same note: a concoction of "boring"'s, "foolish"'s and other remarks of his feigned disinterest. on a couple of select days every week, the boy who plopped into the chair beside you would be ever so slightly more agitated than normal. when he rests on his palm to type on his laptop, you could clearly mark the scratches and scrapes on his arms—peaking out from the cuffs of his sleeves—not to mention the concealed tattoo massing over his forelimb. today's lesson prolonged queerly longer than usual, while you seemed to wander off in your thoughts, eyes glued to the haemorrhaging markings stained on the teen's forearm. violence was banned on the campus, and as the student council safety rep, you were concerned for how the boy could have possibly gotten injured.
xiao's firm, stern voice dragged you back from your headspace. "what're you staring at?" he quirked his brow up in inquiry. out of total shock and embarrassment, you respond instinctively, grabbing a band-aid from the packet in your backpack. intuition told you despite the boy's difficult character, and conceivable annoyance of your company—he deserved some care. ushering the boy to stay still, as you concentratedly pressed your fingers to tape his tears and rips. before he was able to muster a thanks, the bell rang, and you escaped from his sight yet again. 'just some unbothersome blemishes, no need of such a big fuss', he murmured, face red as he leaned against the fence, cautiously ripping off the multicoloured bandages from his skin. you'd left your etch on his heart, one that he wasn't able to just rub off.
it was rare to come across individuals as kind and ardent as you, and even rarer for them to be quite so incomprehensibly caring to everyone. so maybe this time, he won't choose to work alone on the assignment due next week.
kaeya a walking magnet is what you'd use to describe the man beside you, in looks, and in personality. easy-going and light-hearted in his speech, and able to start a conversation with just about anyone. people needed a kaeya, someone who would listen to their blabber, someone who would keep their secrets, and was interested in what they were up to. you loved sitting next to him, sharing with him your heart's deepest riddles, and sniffing in big whiffs of his oud-wood scent. programmatically laying short glimpses at his unveiled, azurite eye. as a student, you discovered he was the type that seemed to care the least about the scores, while secretly achieving the best. you'd sometimes spot him dozing off in class after lunch, gently tugging on his soft hair to wake him. groggily stretching his tanned arms, phasing out a huge yawn, rubbing the spot on his affrayed scalp. "don't y'know the importance of resting, name?" he mumbled, burying his nose into his unbuttoned white sleeves. "hm, maybe i do, kaeya" you nodded, ducking your face into your arms in coherence. but recently, you've been finding yourself at a loss of knowledge for him. while kaeya was always able to make you laugh, remembered all the most petite details about you, and knew every little bad habit of yours. you were such a horrible friend, to have not acquired knowledge of a single attribute of his, over the many months you had spent next to each other.
before your last lesson with the prussian-blue alberich, you went around in circles inquiring people what they knew about him. no one was able to recall their acquaintances vividly, other than his appearance at parties, and jolly content-less communication. a thunder of pseudo-realisation had stricken your mind, 'kaeya was a truly lonely man who spent his school life on socializing and networking. yet, all he was left with was a blurry memory in some randomer's head'. by the time you had sat in the chair neighbouring his, guilt filled you. you blurted out, "kaeya, i'm thinking we should talk more. you're always listening to me talk, and maybe this time i could be the one listening to you," voice decrescendoing with every note. pausing to take a deep breath, confidently pitching up your voice, "kaeya, do you feel lonely?"
a burst of blissful, genuine laughter escaped his lips, "lonely? me? not with someone here nagging me all the time, that's for sure."
he smiled to himself. not everyone made the effort to understand him, and not everyone was going to get that privilege. maybe you could be an exception.
al haitham research paper genius, the instructor would always showcase his works as examples. the gray-haired man never batted an eye at the professor's prattle, preferring to plunge into his own, self-taught, studies. al haitham expressed himself in short, curt statements; favouring silence over chatter. however, whenever you found yourself desolate in the understanding of new practicals and experiments, the man next to you was always able to go out of his way to be of your aid. honestly, you felt more educated by al haitham than the teacher—he would likely agree.
it was the week before exams, and all your learning for the year was to be revisited. it was the busiest, and most chatter-filled week of the year for al haitham. "haitham, what was the big glass thing called again?" a funny, incomprehensible expression enveloped his features. there was no way he could have understood your silly, irreconcilable description with any piece of lab apparatus. in turn, he leaned over to your desk to observe the tool in query; his turquoise highlights swaying downwards to the left. "I've told you this before, name." he disappointedly said, eyes fluttering closed, sighing between syllables. "tell me again" twitting at him, poking him with your eraser loosely in your hands. "tell me again, al-oh-so-smart-clever-intelligent-haitham. the things you tell me? i remember them three times more clearly!" glittery praise drooling from your lips. he giggled inconceivably at your sarcastic commendations, "b-u-r-e-t-t-e. burette. you got it this time?"
upon his unapproachable facade and untalkative demeanour, he found patience and merriment in assisting those who yearned to learn. he didn't mind your perpetual persistence, because he knew this was your worst subject. in you, he found a glister of himself—inquisitive and attracted by knowledge. though you were more—brave and unafraid of making and admitting to mistakes. al haitham had become accustomed to your presence in his work, your chatter was the only exception he was uncoerced to make.
knowledge came to those who fought for it, truth came to those who merited it, and al haitham? he came those who were like you.
--
an. i have a clearly observable trope of being the exception. sending my love to these three adorable boys.

HERMES EPIC VICTORIAN AU PRESENTATION
If you land on this page, you already have a huge prejudice that you're going to get rid of straight away. You're expecting a character, hermes. Wrong. You have two, the false twins Kléptēs and Kaudaúlēs. Bastards of Zeus, they are the children of Maïa, a thief famous for her absolute agility. She was said to fly from the rooftops, among the stars. They are thieves, merchants, lucky devils, tricksters, clever as can be, jokers and geniuses. Their father entrusted their teaching to Athena, their elder half-sister, and she was not disappointed. The two twins, in addition to their insolent luck, were just like her endowed with metis, cunning intelligence. They also possessed knowledge that could be described as encyclopaedic. Kléptēs is a non-binary woman, kaudaúlēs a non-binary on the masculine side of the spectrum (which makes me laugh because the non-binary flag corresponds to their colour palette by accident).
Kléptēs means thief, and you won't be disappointed. Of all his father's gang, kléptēs is the best in the air. She's borderline kleptomaniac. She loves pulling the wool over people's eyes and coming up with the most devious schemes. She has a reputation for being absolutely chaotic.
But paradoxically, she's a genius who loves to plan everything meticulously. Never underestimate her just because she's unpredictable, on the contrary. Although she and her brother can claim to be among the most human of gods, kléptēs and kandaúlēs remain cruel, even sadistic. And kléptēs is also a true drama queen with a flair for showmanship. Kandaúlēs has found another way to fool people. His motto leaves no doubt about his intentions: "dealers are just another kind of thiefs". He has made a name for himself in banking, particularly on the stock market, where he pulls all the strings with disarming ease. Like his sister, he is a notorious mathematical genius, and knows how to put this particular skill to good use. In fact, are there any of their skills that the twins haven't pushed to the limit? Kandaúlēs is particularly diligent. Beneath his smooth exterior and impeccable smile, he's a real shark. No mercy. Never expect any from kandaúlēs, who will strip you to the bone and watch you kill yourself in despair with an impeccable smile. He can sell you anything. Besides, if you're waiting for a good old-fashioned trope about twins who have trouble distinguishing between themselves and are in conflict because of it, don't bother.
The Hermes love doing their show in pairs, helping each other out with business, but they're just as capable of working on their own. In fact, the only fault you could find with them is their difficulty in communicating about the problems they may be going through. But on the streets of the East End, it's not good to appear weak, and they've understood that.
And don't try to designate just one of the two as Hermes. The two of them are Hermes, and only one of them is an isolated and incomprehensible fragment of Hermes.
RELATIONSHIPS
ATHENA After all, she's the person they care about and admire the most. They are also used to working with her and trust her. They see her as their big sister and mentor. Their deep affection for her is reciprocated, and Athena has learned to value them as well. They've learned from her, but they're not just copying and pasting.
CIRCE The Hermes have a reputation as notorious seducers. For them, it's more of a game than a real commitment to love. And it's a good thing Circé isn't jealous. In fact, Kléptēs isn't jealous either. The two of them have a rather serious relationship, which is at once friendly, funny, sweet and seductive. Kandaúlēs has a more distant relationship with circé, but it's friendly and on good threms.
BETWEEN THEM What worries their father Zeus slightly is that the true loyalty of the Hermes lies first and foremost with themselves. They wouldn't hesitate to cheat their own father to protect the other in case of trouble. In this bloody shitty world, they know that the only person they can count on is themselves. They even tend not to think of themselves as two separate individuals, but rather as two sides of the same coin. The friendship between the two of them is fused. Arguments are virtually non-existent.
ZEUS He's their dad. A father proud of his children. But the Hermes saw what happened to their brother Ares the day he came back after taking a beating from the titans. Ever since, the Hermes have been slightly suspicious of their father. Who knows what will happen to them if, like Ares, they make a mistake? But unlike Ares, they know they have brains. And that their intelligence assures them an esteem and a place that may be irreplaceable. So far, so good. Zeus loves them, they're in a good place among all his divine bastards. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

For the canyon au, what would happen if one of the hermits got hurt during a scout? Like, if etho is out scouting, something happens, and he’s unable to message the hermits or get help. Would he be willing to be seen? Would any smpers besides Puffy help him?
Zedaph didn't mean to leave the canyon, honest! He was just looking for a sheep of his own for a completely ethical experiment involving pistons and a perfectly reasonable quantity of peanut butter, thank you very much. He wasn’t about to steal a sheep from someone else’s farm, and for some reason sheep don’t tend to spawn at bedrock level. So really, he had no choice!
Zedaph is rethinking a lot of his decisions. He’s also wondering if he left the jump-powered stove on. Then he remembers that it’s jump-powered, and as he is not currently jumping on it, it is most likely unpowered. Unfortunately, it seems as though Zedaph is going to be eating a lot of cold food for a while if he makes it out of this alive, because he’s not going to be jumping on anything with a broken leg.
Despite his punishment for trying to take a cross-section of something that he now knows is probably sentient (oops), he can’t help but want to go back, to learn more. What is the rate of growth of those red vines? Are they all from the same plant? Are they actually sentient, or is the crimson kudzu in possession of an automatic response to attempted harm? Did the vine know it was hitting him off a ledge which would break his leg, or did it just know “whack human away from vine”? Would the vines taste good in soup? Are they flammable? Could Zedaph theoretically knit a fashionable sweater out of them, and if so would the sweater be capable of independent movement?
He is torn from his musings of a wriggly evil sweater by another thrum of pain. He hisses. There’s... more blood than is advisable. Outside of his leg, that is. Inside his leg is likely less than the advisable amount of blood, and come to think of it, his head’s probably a bit empty as well, seeing as how he’s having so much trouble thinking straight-- well, straight for him. His jumps in logic are incomprehensible to most on a good day, but right now even he can’t follow his own thought process. What was he thinking about again?
Ah yes. The overwhelming pain from being yeeted off a ledge. Come to think of it, the ledge he fell off-- the one he’s sitting leaned against-- is shaped awfully unusually. It must be manmade. Whoever made this is not a good terraformer. Zedaph should bake Scar some cookies. Is Scar allergic to peanuts? Ow. Ow. Ow. Zedaph will need to borrow Impulse’s oven-- or he could set up his own oven with an armor stand that jumps for him?
“Hey there, who are you?” says a female voice. Zedaph looks up. He doesn’t have to look very far up.
Standing in front of him is a woman with a cool pirate-looking coat (red, of course; all self-respecting pirates wear red), with long fluffy hair like white wool and rainbow fringe! Oh, and she’s, like, half sheep or something. That’s cool too.
Wait. There’s something about sheep he’s forgetting... How could he have been so stupid?! He came to the surface in the first place in search of a sheep, and now he’s (kind of) found one!
The cool pirate lady says something, but Zedaph-- well, he does hear it, but it doesn’t process. Words are just mouth-sounds. He is in pain.
“Found a sheep,” he mumbles, “Come back to the canyon?”
“You’re hurt, man,” the sheep-pirate-lady says. She has pretty rainbow hair, and the white parts look like clouds.
She laughs. “Thanks.”
Clearly, this woman is a mind-reader! As well as a sheep. Really, two for the price of one. Zedaph isn’t quite sure what to do with a mind-reader, but his head will be much clearer and therefore able to dream up wacky hypotheses once he respawns--
He gasps, jerking forward and choking on his own breath when he remembers the cold truth. Xisuma won’t be able to respawn him, not for several days. Zedaph doesn’t want to spend that long in the void.
“Woah!” the woman exclaims, rushing to steady him. “You look pretty bad, dude. Let’s get you home or something. Where do you live?”
“Canyon,” Zedaph rasps. “I’m not supposed to tell you that, I don’t think. Can’t remember why.”
The nice woman goes very still. “Hey. My name’s Puffy. I’m gonna take you to the canyon. Do you think you can stand if I help you?”
“Puffy..?” Zedaph squints off into the middle distance, trying to remember something. “She’s the person who keeps coming back to that barrel, isn’t she?”
Puffy pulls Zedaph’s arm over her shoulder and gently pulls him up to his feet. “She is,” Puffy says softly.
“I hope she liked the enchanted diamond shears,” he mumbles.
“She did,” Puffy says softly. “She didn’t even know diamond shears were a thing.”
“I was going to make an emerald flint and steel,” Zedaph rambles, “but it turns out that items made of flint and steel aren’t conducive to being made of not-flint and not-steel."
"Who would have thought?" Puffy laughs, then trips over a vine. Zedaph makes a pained noise at the jostle to his leg, which is dragging a bit on the ground because Puffy is so much shorter than him. She notices this, and rethinks her strategy.
"At this rate, we'll never get back to the canyon," she gripes. "Climb on my back instead, I'll carry you."
Zedaph obliges, but warns, "Tango says I'm heavy.”
“I’m stronger than Tango, I’ll bet.”
The Hermit is actually a bit heavy, but this is a matter of pride now. And also, quite possibly a matter of urgency. The Hermit isn’t responding anymore. He’s still holding on, so he isn’t dead or completely unconscious; still, he’s not in a good state.
As soon as the elevator down to the bottom of the canyon comes into view, Puffy books it. Surely, in the canyon base, the Hermit will have healing potions? He (They? Multiple Hermits?) gave her a whole beacon, so obviously he/they are late-game enough to have plenty of potions.
Stepping into the elevator, Puffy presses the button, then puts her hand on the Hermit’s neck. It’s a bit of an awkward position, since his chin is hanging over her shoulder, but it makes her feel better to have a hand on his pulse. He makes a pitiful noise as the elevator descends.
“Easy there,” Puffy says, “you’re almost home.”
The moment the doors open, she ventures out into the village. The only safe place she knows is the barrel where she leaves her items for the Hermit(s), so she takes him there. Now that she’s looking, she spots shadows, eyes, movements, throughout the supposedly empty village. One such person comes out of the woodwork, sprinting.
“Zedaph!” exclaims a tall, musclebound man. His face is twisted in naked worry as he meets Puffy at the barrel, which she sets Zedaph down on.
The large man, who wears a black shirt with a creeper face on it (does that mean something, Puffy wonders?) scrutinizes the blond man on the barrel for a moment before springing into action, splashing potions and bits of lapis and-- holy shit, is that a Totem of Undying?! When the blond man, Zedaph, seems to come back to himself enough that he could reasonably eat a golden carrot with minimal choking hazard, the new man hands him one. Finally, he turns to Puffy.
“Thank you,” he says. The relief in his voice is tangible.
Puffy shifts awkwardly. “I was just doing the right thing. I noticed, uh, his bracelet.”
They both look to Zedaph’s wrist. It’s got a woven bracelet on it. The textile isn’t astounding, but the pattern on it is intricate. Puffy would know, she made it herself as a gift for the Hermit. As Puffy and the other Hermit look at each other, she realizes that he is also wearing something she made: a pair of fingerless gloves which are now stained with redstone dust.
He catches her staring. “We all have one-- oh, uh, my name’s Impulse, and this is Zedaph--”
“Impulse,” a new blond man hisses from behind the two. Puffy jumps. She didn’t hear him coming.
“Tango!” Impulse greets, suddenly nervous. Why a man as big as Impulse would be nervous when facing anyone, let alone a normal-looking guy like Tango, is beyond Puffy. Maybe Tango’s red eyes have some sort of significance?
“Impulse,” Tango repeats, looking around for anyone that isn’t a Hermit. “You’re not invisible.”
Impulse’s eyebrows draw together in a frown. “I had to see Zedaph.”
“Yeahhh,” Zedaph slurs.
“Besides, if we can trust any of the natives, it’s Puffy,” Impulse insists. He crosses his arms in what should be an intimidating display, but truthfully looks more like a pout.
“You know what Xisuma said,” Tango says. “I’m grateful to have Zedaph back, but...”
“Xisuma would agree with me,” Impulse says stubbornly.
Tango sighs explosively, full of nerves. “Alright, fine, can we at least get out of sight? Anyone could come wandering across the surface and spot us.”
“How many of you are there?” Puffy breathes. Everyone’s eyes snap to her.
“Twenty-four,” Zedaph says happily.
“Zedaph!” Tango admonishes.
Rolling his eyes, Impulse scoops Zedaph up off the barrel like he weighs nothing. He carries the dazed blond man down the path and into a cottage-style house. As Tango goes to follow, he catches Puffy’s eye.
“Sorry,” he says, “nothing personal. Just trying to avoid being explodificated, which means not being seen by the people who live on this server. You get it, yeah?”
He jogs off to catch up with Impulse, and Puffy hurriedly follows. Tango’s got a bracelet like Zedaph’s, but it’s one of the ones Puffy made out of different shades of red. She wonders if all the Hermits wear something she made.
The inside of the house is a bit cramped, but it’ll do. It’s got a bed, at least, so Zedaph’s got somewhere to keep his leg off the ground. This all feels surreal.
“So, uh...” Puffy says into the stuffy silence of the room. “How about that, uh, bedrock?”
Nobody has anything to say to that. Fuck.
Out of nowhere, yet another Hermit shows up. There’s a trapdoor in the wall that, now that she looks at it, Puffy realizes that Tango was hiding intentionally. That’s all gone to shit, though, because a man with white hair and a mask over his face peeks his head out from the hole in the wall.
“Hey guys, what--” The man takes a look around, spots Puffy, and freezes. “...On second thought, I’ll come back later.”
“Wait!” Impulse says to the man. “Get Xisuma, or at least tell him Puffy’s here if he can’t make the trip right now.”
“Karl thinks you’re Mothman,” Puffy blurts out to the white-haired man.
The man looks very self-satisfied for someone who’s only showing a quarter of his face. “Oh? Where does he live? For absolutely no reason, of course.”
“Etho...” Tango groans.
“Oh, alright, I’ll go get X.”
The man leaves. Oh boy, thinks Puffy, this is going to be interesting.

CHAPTER TWO HOUR. CHAPTER TWO HOUR. I AM SO TIRED. IT IS 6AM. TELL ME IF HTERE’S TYPOS AND THAT NORMAL STUFF
Bets Against The Void, Chapter 2
Chapter 1
Chapter 3
Whitelist au from @petrichormeraki
Crossposted on AO3
Tubbo quietly chuckled, smiling fondly as their friend squawked indignantly. “Tubbo! I’m serious, explain some shit, fuckin’ nerd!” Tommy scoffed, prodding at their side with his elbow. Tubbo hushed him, their smirk still lingering.
“Hermitcraft is a super crazy popular server. If you’ve ever searched for examples of builds on your tablet, chances are, they’re from one of the Hermits. Or if you looked up something about redstone! Anything! You’ll find one of their instructions. They’re geniuses- just, complete geniuses. Grian’s one of them-”
“Grian’s one of them!?” Tommy exclaimed, his eyes shooting open. Tubbo’s grin widened, nodding vigorously. “Yes! He’s the newest Hermit, last I heard.. Most of the guys he’s teammates with every MCC, they’re usually other Hermits!” They’d continue explaining to the best of their ability.
“Should’ve fuckin’ started with the fact that Grian’s here! That fuckin’ dude! He killed Dream three times! Three times, Tubbo!” The blond continued with his excited shouting. Well, that certainly fixed the situation, Tubbo mused.
The brunett nodded along, chuckling. “Yeah! He, and most of the others, really- post all that much right now. The new World Client, with the axolotls and caves ‘n stuff? They’ve started posting and sharing discoveries about that. I know Grian did, at least. But considering they call themselves the ‘Hermits’ it makes sense to be a bit inactive, yeah?” Tubbo shrugged, tapping the chilly cool sandstone beneath them.
Tommy nodded dumbly, glancing around the room for a moment. Tubbo, meanwhile, had pulled their tablet up. The holographic comm system was displayed infront of them, everything on the screen they touched being read aloud to them.
Launching an accessibility app, the tablet began describing aloud the block palette, dimensions, and colors. As the tablet’s robotic voice played in his com system, reading aloud the details of his surrounding, Tubbo nodded along to an incoherent rant from Tommy.
Tubbo wasn’t too sure what Tommy was ranting about- likely MCC, and Grian. Grian got a kill on Tommy, last MCC, if they remember correctly. The brunnett wouldn’t be surprised if that was the target of the blond’s current tangent. Tommy hadn’t even been able to get a word out, when Grian began shouting vigorous apologises between matches.
The descriptions from the tablet were long, and boring. The robotic voice drawing on and on, as it attempted to describe the intricate room. Shutting down the program, Tubbo tuned back into Tommy.
“Fuckin’ am..So fucking tired. Of course we ended up here. It’d be to easy if we’d just be let back into Dream SMP, huh? Think Dream even knew we were out? I bet not. Even if he does, probably didn’t even care, fuckin’ dick. Bet that green asshole’s just sitting over his code and shit, simping over Gogy-” The blond ranted heatedly. The blind teen could hear the shifting and chustling of fabric, before the boy’s voice became muffled.
With his head pressed against his knees, legs drawn to his chest, Tommy sat there practically panting. His chest heaved, the rage draining from him. “Why is all- all of this, always so complicated, Tubbo?” Blue eyes turned to meet the scarred, burnt front of the other.
Tubbo picked at faded and torn tennis shoes, tentatively listening. The rymnatic pattern of the boy’s breathing, and the crashing overhead, offered some vague comfort. “All of what?” They’d tilt their head.
The younger of the two quietly sighed, his mouth pressed in a thin line. His hand clutched the bottom of his torn, tan cargo pants, fidgetting with the frayed ends. “Us. Shit with us, it always gets so fuckin’ complicated. Big Man, you’re president. You’re- you’re the fucking president, now, Tubbo.”
The bunnett’s brows furrowed together, as they inched closer to their friend. “Yeah. But it’s- it’s still us, y’know? If- if life was easy, then we’d be missing out on a lot of things. What if we had just never met-”
“We’d always meet eachother, Tubbo. There’s no fuckin’ getting rid of me, even in your fantasy world.” The blond nudged the teen’s shoulder, a wolfish grin evident in his tone.
That made the other crack a smile, shaking their head. “I hope so, Tommy.” They’d chuckle, shaking their head. The weight of the day came crashing down all again. Before the rushing thoughts could boggle down their mind, Tubbo slumped against Tommy’s side sigh an exhausted sigh.
“This is just, livin’ the fucking life, huh?” Tommy remarked, looking over his friend. The tall boy already shifted himself, his long legs sprawled out on the floor with his back leaned against sandstone walls.
His head leaned against that of his compaignian, half-lidded blue eyes giving one last surveillance of the room. “We’ll figure this shit out tomorrow..” Tommy mumbled, glancing down at the brunette.
Tubbo was already asleep, their expression finally one of peace. Tommy wasn’t given a moment more to appreciate the serenity of the quiet room, before he’d be pulled into slumber as well.
Both of the teens were stirred awake by the whirring noises of an active portal- the Netherportal beside them, with particles flying, gaveway to two players. Tommy kicked himself up to his feet, defensively. Tubbo stumbled along with him, pulling back away from the strangers.
Though two stepped out, only one immediately caught Tommy’s eyes.
“W- Holy shit! You’re Grian!” Tommy squawked indignantly.
Tubbo’s head immediately shot up, excitably breaking into a grin. Any exhaustion the two held was wiped away- neither was sure how long their unrestful sleep had been, but it was far more than other nights.
The target of the excitement, Grian, sheepishly stood there, nodding. “Uh, yeah! You guys are Tommy and Tubbo, yeah? I’ve seen you at most of the MCC’s I’ve been to. You both did really good last time, by the way! I’m really looking forward to the next one!”
This was easily the closest they probably ever were to the dirty blond. He also looked far more at ease, on this server. The iconic figure, ever-present in the community, had his wild mop of a fringe frazzled and framing his face.
Poking under the bangs, Tommy could now see faint, ragged lines from a scar, along with other various healed-over wounds. Another contrary to how either of them had seen Grian, at MCC, was the large circular glasses loosely sat on his face.
Seeing one of his heroes like this (The only one that hadn’t betrayed, killed him, turned against him, despised him-) in such a..Domestic state, was bizarre. Tommy was scrambling for words, starting and giving up on getting his tongue around what to say.
“This is so cool! Hi! I used to watch and- and listen, to a lot of your old build tutorials! A lot of people on our server would always say how we learned building from you!” Tubbo would blurt out, practically bouncing on their heel. Grian turned to the teen, slightly shocked but amused.
“Oh! I- well thank you! I’m glad I could be any help at all- my builds are nothing compared to some of what the other Hermits have going on..Speaking of others- this is Stress!” He’d take the opportunity to escape the small spotlight, glancing towards the brunette woman next to him sheepishly.
The woman- Stress, apparently, quietly chuckled. A fond smile grazed her face, as she looked over towards the two teenagers. “Ello there, Loves! Sorry to interrupt your fan meetup,” She teased, side-eyeing the dirty blond beside her. “We just wanted to come and check in, is all! X told us two to come visit, yeah?”
Tommy quietly hummed skeptically, surveying her. Short brown hair hung barely as low as her shoulder, a neat, white, blue, and pink flower-crown sat upon her head. The colors must’ve been very purposeful, considering they matched with her colorful outfit of the same color.
“Fine, sure..Well, we’re still fuckin’ breathing, and we’re here. So you don’t really need to be here any longer, yeah?” Tommy scoffed, slumping back against the wall. Tubbo was already standing, nudging at his side.
“Thank you, for checking in. I- I’m sure this is a bit of a strange situation. That- Yeah, that’s my bad.” They chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of their neck. This caught Stress’ attention, turning towards the tene.
“Oh, no! This isn’t a problem at all. Dear, this happens all the time. Grian just- just appeared, one day, in our previous server. We walk out the portal for the first time- and boom! There that weirdo is!” Stress chuckled, her grin unwavering as she gave a playful nudge to the dirty blond beside her.
Grian scoffed, a smirk edging at his lips as he rolled his eyes. “Okay, but I’m not the only example of that happening- you didn’t have to pick me out specifically!”
“Sure I do, Love! You’re the first new Hermit to join, after me and Zed! I get to bully you, lovingly!” She cheered. Stress’ energy was absolutely efficacious, Tubbo couldn’t help but smile and cackle at her and Grian’s banter.
“Uh huh,” Grian scoffed, dramatically crossing his arms. “Last I checked, that was Iskall’s job to bully newcomers- oh, Gord, when you all walked out of the portal and they just decked me ? I mean, it didn’t really hurt all that bad, but it’s a matter of the principle!”
Stress seemed like she was almost gonna break down with laughter, clutching her stomach. “I forgot they did that with you, too! Iskall certainly is one that needs work with their introduction, that absolute weirdo!” She chostled, shaking her head fondly.
She then turned towards the two teens, reassuringly smiling. “They won’t give you any hard time, they’re just like that sometimes, especially in the beginning of a new season..They’re usually just incomprehensible in the beginning, I learnt!” She giggled, covering her mouth.
Tubbo awkwardly laughed, nodding. “Yeah- they, they sound like something.” It was..A strange environment, to be sure.
Sure, they knew of the Hermits, their reputation impossible to avoid- but most outsiders didn’t know much about the actual Hermits. They went by that title for a reason.
Tommy was having similar thoughts, he felt as if he was completely imposing on, everything. But he couldn’t find it in himself to care- it frankly was..Warming, almost, to see this. He missed being able to have that, on Dream’s server.
The blond in particular seemed to have tuned out, because by the time he snapped out of those thoughts, Grian was speaking again.
“We’re glad to see you’re both alright, but, I don’t think we’ve been exactly great hosts. You both have gotta be hungry- I know the last thing you two seem to want is help, but..We’d be happy to help you however we can. We can go get you fresh, real food. Or- you both come with us, and we take you to our central area, the Cowmercial district.”
Tommy stared blankly at Grian for a moment, brows knitted together in bewilderment. “The… Cow..merical district?” He’d repeat, squinting.
Grian snickered, nodding. “Yeah! The name just stuck. It’s our shopping district. We have a bakery- it’s never, ever too early for cake. There’s Doc’s shop, but that’s all villager-bought, if it’s the rare occasion that it’s stocked at all- so the Bakery may be the only option, for today.” He glanced back at Stress, who nodded in agreement.
“Only if you’d want to,” Stress would interject. “Either of us could come bring you food here- but, we figured you might want to just..Get out. You’re allowed to leave here whenever you want- but, navigating our server by yourself, for the first time? Not the easiest.”
The two teens glanced towards eachother. Tubbo looked like they were practically buzzing in place, at the idea of exploring the Hermits’ world. Tommy watched them for a moment, before quietly scoffing.
“..Yeah, okay, sure- how the hell do we even get out of here though, for starters?” Tommy crossed his arms, inching closer towards Tubbo. He, for one, was really not a fan of having to fly out.
Stress cheered excitably, pulling open her inventory. The woman promptly dropped a stack each to the two teens. “I came prepared, just in-case!” She grinned. With a swipe of her arm, the digital screen dissipated.
“If you know how to use elytras, X already said he’s more than happy to lend out two from the back-up system. I have some to spare, as well. But- you two never seemed the most comfortable in the air, during flight-based games.” Grian would add awkwardly, adjusting his own wings behind him.
Tommy didn’t pay much attention to the words- instead, he promptly threw open his inventory, gawking at the full stack of pearls. “What! I don’t think i’ve ever had this many pearls! Holy shit!” He pulled out the stack of sixteen.
One pearl manifested in his hand, while a holographic icon hovered beside him. The pixel-image of an enderpearl, with a large 15x in the corner in white font was projected for only his vision. The blond couldn’t remember a time he had so many enderpearls.
“Thank you! Wow- yeah, pearls aren’t really common in our server! This- this is really nice!” They felt giddy, as they pulled their’s out as well, the action muscle-memory.
“Well, I’m glad you two can put them to good-use, then!” She chuckled. The idle question of how can a server lack pearls skimming through her head for a moment.
Within seconds of her saying that, Tommy had already blindly tossed one of his pearls- promptly falling down from the ceiling, and landing on the floor with a short shriek. Tubbo straightened up from the sidelines, tilting their head.
“Tommy! What did you do?” Tubbo called out accusatorily, as they quickly popped their surrounding descriptor back on.
“Nothing!” Tommy quickly yelled back, lunging to their feet with a stumble as they dusted themselves off.
At the sidelines, Stress and Grian cackled, watching in lighthearted amusement. Tommy could feel his face flushed red with brief embarrassment, quickly attempting to play it off.
“Truer answer; I was being awesome. That was what, Tubbo. Are we eating or what? I want to throw pearls and go places. And eat, that too.” He quickly turned towards the two Hermits expectantly, narrowing his eyes at them.
Grian grinned, nodding. “Yes, yes we are! I have boats. Go ahead and pop up with your pearls, and we’ll fly out to you.” He explained briefly, pulling the boats from his inventory. The thin, digitized object manifesting in his hand.
Tommy turned expectantly to Tubbo. “You got this, Toob?” He tilted his head, watching his friend. Tubbo had immediately nodded vigoriously, running over towards the center of the room, the ceiling above open to the water.
“Yeah! I’ve got this, Big Man! No sweat!” They gave a toothy grin, shifting the enderpearl in their hand. Arching their arm back, the teen cautiously stepped back.
Their communicator had continued reading off the details of the room into their thin earpiece, primarily the dimensions. All they had to do was hit the wall leading up to the surface to get out. They could do that, surely.
With a huff of effort, they chucked the pearl. They heard it break through the under-surface of the water, and then they were submerged. Breaching the surface, they gasped for a moment. The ocean rippled, clothes heavy and soaked. They were certainly glad they had been in their casual clothes, rather than their presidential outfit.
Within a moment, Tommy was up beside them, quietly gasping as well. The blond pushed his hair back, lightly nudging Tubbo away from the gaping hole in the water beneath them- and then Grian and Stress flew out.
The sound from the rockets were deafened from beneath the ocean, thankfully. Only a thin trail of smoke followed them, the sight certainly unfamiliar to the fireworks the two teens had been accustomed to.
Both Hermits had dived straight into the shallow water with a splash, before the dirty-blond dropped down two boats.
“I want to drive! Tommy, i’m driving us!” Tubbo cried out, at the sound of the wood hitting the water. Beside them, Tommy scoffed.
“Tubbo! I’m not gettin’ motion sickness! We just woke up, no way. Your idea of ‘driving’ is no one elses, my friend.” He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as he pulled himself into the boat. Beside him, Tubbo whined.
“C’mon, man! Nothing like a bit of motion-sickness to get the day started!” They playfully remarked. Despite that, they had already accepted their defeat, pulling up into the boat.
Stress and Grian watched the teens carefully, with Stress laughing lightheartedly at the banter between them as she pulled herself into the boat, behind Grian.
Grian, on the otherhand, was mostly quiet. A thin wisp of a smile was present, conveying one of bemusement. Tommy didn’t get a good look, but, he couldn’t quite pinpoint the look from Grian. He didn’t like it.
“Alright,” The older Brit at hand started. “We’re real close. No one should be at Looky Looky At My Cookie- and it should be early enough that there aren’t any real occupants at the Cowmerical District.” He explained, turning the boat as he got a small start ahead of the teens.
“Sure, then! That sounds g- wait, what’s that name?”
“C’mon, then!” Grian wouldn't answer Tubbo’s valid question, before boating off. Tommy quickly following behind, shouting indignantly after them.
It certainly was odd. It felt..Comforting, here. Certainly not relaxing. The opposite of cf relaxing- Tubbo had nothing but the craving to do something. But it was..Welcoming. It was strange. They hadn’t felt so- so unbothered, since..Ever, really. They liked it.
Tubbo wondered if it could stay this way.
Tommy wondered what the hell they were about to get themselves into.

A Favor: Part Three
Nessian Modern AU
Masterlist
a/n: tw for abuse mention. i hope this chapter is readable bc a lot of it was written when i should've been sleeping.
***
“...expecting heavy snow, possibly even a snowstorm, by the end of the week.” The TV blares softly in the background as Nesta types away on her laptop propped on the arm of the couch. The fireplace is up and crackling, and Cassian has to stop in the threshold between kitchen and living room to take in the scene. He’s getting a little too used to this, he worries sometimes. She’ll be gone as soon as her apartment is fixed, he reminds himself, and pushes off the wall to circle the couch and approach Nesta.
He sets the steaming mug of coffee down on the table before her and takes a seat beside her. She doesn’t even stop typing as she glances up and murmurs a “thank you” before returning to her paper.
Cassian doesn’t want to interrupt her work, so he settles into the comfortable habit of watching her. They watch each other a lot— Nesta claims it’s because she’s bored and there’s nothing else to look at. Cassian has no such delusions.
She’s in a wool sweater and thick leggings today. Her hair is pulled back in a worn braid and her glasses are pushed all the way up her nose, but what catches Cassian’s attention tonight is the way her baby hairs escape her braid and frizz around her temples. Yesterday it was the way her cheeks flushed in the firelight, and the day before it was those damn glasses. Today it’s baby hairs.
The fantasy is quick and sneaky, there in his mind before he’s even aware of it.
Getting up to sit on the floor before her. Nudging her legs apart with slow hands while her fingers stutter over the keyboard. Pushing the hem of her sweater up, and pulling her leggings down. “Focus on your work,” he says when she tries to push her laptop away. “Finish your paper for me.” Tracing the inside of her thighs with his lips until his head is right—
The slam of a laptop snaps Cassian out of it. Nesta makes a frustrated growl and rubs her hands across her face before shoving her laptop aside to reach for the coffee.
He raises a brow, endlessly amused by everything she does. “Writing troubles?”
“I deserve a break,” she grumbles.
“I could help with that.”
Tucking her feet beneath her legs, Nesta ignores him and gestures at the TV with her chin. “Think we’ll get snowed in?”
Cassian almost hopes so. Any excuse to build more fires and stay inside with Nesta. “I’ll have to make a shopping trip,” he says casually. “You want anything?”
“I want to be in a state where there aren’t blizzards in October.” She looks over at him. “I miss Tennessee.” It’s a simple admission that brings Cassian to attention. She never gives out details about herself unprompted.
“I didn’t know you still got homesick.” Feyre never talks about her childhood in Tennessee. The only indicator of the Archeron sisters’ pasts is Elain’s sweet little Southern belle accent, which Cassian has a feeling is more for show at this point than anything else.
Nesta shrugs awkwardly in response, but he keeps going. “Rhys’s mom had a summer house in the Smokies. We would go down there each year without fail until college.” Rhys thinks it was fate that the summer home was so close to the small mountain town where Feyre grew up. Cassian thinks that’s a stretch.
“Yeah?” Nesta sips her coffee. “Have you gone back since?”
He shakes his head. “Rhys and Feyre are renovating it right now. You should come vacation with us when it’s done.” He perks up at the sudden idea.
Nesta gives him that familiar weird look from the corner of her eye. “Mm-hm,” she hums noncommittally.
“I’m serious,” Cassian insists. “We could have fun.” He’s already imagining it, getting to show Nesta around the place he grew up. Hearing what she has to say about the rocks and corners he would hurt himself on when he played with his brothers, maybe even hearing about her childhood in the Smokies. But Nesta looks stuck, unsure of how to turn him down.
“It doesn’t sound like a good idea,” she states finally. “I wouldn’t be welcomed there, and I would be the odd outlier the entire time at best.”
Cassian already knows Nesta has no interest in getting friendly with the rest of Feyre’s friend group, and he can respect that. But he still wants her there.
“You wouldn’t have to hang out with everybody there,” he says. “You’d have me and your sisters. That’s three whole people.”
She looks surprised at that. “Since when did I have you?”
Oh. Cassian shrugs. “We’re friends, right? I like you, so you have me.”
She straightens even further at that. He continues without waiting for her reply. “That’s why I want you to vacation with us. I like you, and I’d like having you there.”
Nesta sits back against the couch, staring at him, and then her coffee, then him. “This is new,” she finally says.
Cassian is lost. “What is?”
She considers for a moment, chewing her lip. “I’ve had people say they love me,” she says slowly, “but I don’t think anyone has ever liked me very much.”
The words are so incomprehensible that Cassian just sits there like a fool. She’s making even less sense than when she told him she used to come around to Feyre’s all the time and he never noticed. “I don’t get it. Who doesn’t like you?”
Nesta frowns deeply. “Don’t make me come up with a list. It’s not nice.”
Cassian might need a list, because he wants to have words with these people. “Okay, then. Why wouldn’t anybody like you?”
Nesta’s eyes narrow into a glare and she scoffs like he just said something offensive. “Jesus, I don’t know. Why don’t you call up my ex and ask if you care so much?” She sets her empty mug down and stands up, gathering her laptop and notes as she goes.
Cassian doesn’t know what he said wrong. “Wait, Nes—”
“Thanks for the coffee, I’m going to finish my work in my room.” She pushes her glasses up her nose and speedwalks out of the room, ignoring Cassian’s calls to wait.
***
Cassian can’t sleep that night knowing Nesta is upset with him. He tried knocking at her door when he came upstairs an hour after Nesta had, but the lights were off and he received no reply. Now in bed, he listens to the howl of late autumn wind outside and goes over everything Nesta said earlier.
She misses Tennessee. She feels that nobody likes her. She has an ex that definitely doesn't like her.
It's the last two details that bother Cassian the most. He’s about to spiral into another hour of overthinking when his phone lights up on the nightstand.
Subconsciously thinking it's a text from Nesta, his hand shoots for his phone. He has to smother his disappointment when he sees it's only Feyre checking in.
Feyre: how are things going with nesta? is she causing u any trouble?
Maybe he’s still upset about his conversation with Nesta, but the text rubs him the wrong way. Nesta sounds like a pet or a rowdy child.
Cass: not at all. she’s perfect
He quickly erases that last word and hesitates, trying to think of another one.
she’s lovely wonderful great. He settles on great and clicks send.
A reply pops up a few seconds later.
Feyre: lmao sure
Cassian frowns at his phone. What’s that supposed to mean?
Another text appears: just tell me if you need anything and i’ll take care of it. i know this isnt easy.
What isn’t easy? Having a roommate? Cassian replies, We don’t need anything, we’re fine. He uses capitalization and everything, feeling offended for some reason. And then, not really wanting to see a reply from Feyre, he turns his phone off and leaves it facedown on the nightstand.
He shuffles deeper under the covers and pushes his friend out of his mind, thinking about ways to make up with Nesta tomorrow instead.
***
Nesta stays up all night berating herself for how she reacted to Cassian’s innocent question. She wasn’t expecting him to pry for details because no one ever pries into her life, and she freaked out instead of rationally assessing the situation.
A part of her is satisfied now, having seen this coming from a mile away. It happens with everyone she meets, when she says or does something wrong and inevitably pushes them away. Maybe she should keep pushing him away, and keep him at arm’s length for the rest of her time here.
A larger part of Nesta is embarrassed at having caused a scene, and worse, mentioning Tomas. Because that’s exactly where her mind went when Cassian asked that question— to the man who used to say he loved her, but who never truly liked her. Intrusive memories from years past attack Nesta until the sky outside turns a light gray: dressing up for fancy business events and having his arm wrapped around her waist in an illusion of affection. Him pinching her side hard enough to make tears spring to her eyes when nobody was looking and leaning into her ear to lovingly whisper everything wrong with her that night. Going home and having makeup sex.
She’s still flustered from Cassian and can’t keep the thoughts out as well as usual. When she finally does drift off into a restless imitation of sleep, it’s by holding her thumb to her wrist until the steady beat of her pulse soothes her worn nerves.
Nesta wakes up cramping.
It takes her a few moments to pull out of the fog of sleep and recognize the feeling, and she groans aloud. This can’t be happening to her right now.
She was stupidly hoping that her period would hold off until she moved back into her apartment. Her premenstrual cramps are telling her she has two days at most.
She refuses to go through that experience in the same house as Cassian. Her family doesn’t even like being in the same house as her when she’s on her period. Her ex would outright leave their apartment and stay at a friend’s until she got over it. So this…
She groans once more and pulls herself out of bed. A quick phone check tells her it’s only been three hours since she fell asleep, but she’s given up at this point.
Nesta tiptoes hesitantly out of her room, not wanting to face Cassian just yet. It’s only when she reaches the stairs that she realizes the house is unusually quiet, even though it’s almost eleven.
Frowning, Nesta pads into the kitchen to find two things: a covered dish sitting on the island and a green sticky-note stuck to the fridge. She goes for the note first.
In messy handwriting it reads: Went out for groceries. Text me if you need anything. Beneath the words is a dark, almost furious scribble of ink, as if Cassian had written something there only to forcefully scratch it out.
Without overthinking it, she gets out her phone and texts Cassian that she needs pads. It only occurs to her after she’s sent the message that that’s probably not enough information.
Having Cassian know Nesta is on her period is one thing, but him knowing the size of her pad? The heaviness of her flow? She might need to enforce that rule about him never speaking to her again.
In her best attempt to not be viewed as a walking blood gusher, she asks for a smaller size pad than usual and turns her phone all the way off so she can’t see any replies.
Once you’re out of this house you’ll never have to see him again, so it won’t matter if you’re the rude bitch who cried and bled a lot while she was staying at his place.
Going over to the kitchen island, she uncovers the plate she assumes is for her. She isn’t expecting anything much, maybe Cassian’s leftovers from breakfast, so she hesitates when she sees a full stack of chocolate chip pancakes. Carefully decorated with berries and syrup, they’ve long gone cold, but— still.
Nesta reaches out as if they might not be real, or not meant for her, but nothing happens. Mouth tightening, she snatches the plate and grabs a fork.
Cassian comes in through the kitchen door twenty minutes later, long after Nesta’s cleaned off her food and washed the dishes in the sink. He throws her a smile as he shakes snow out of his hair and sets down the bags of groceries on the island by Nesta’s laptop.
“Oh, is it snowing already?” She throws a concerned glance outside, not having noticed while she was working.
“It’s light for now, but it won’t be for long.” He starts taking off his coat, and Nesta gets up to help with the groceries. She quickly finds the bag holding her stuff and discreetly sets it aside, but then Cassian grabs another bag and upturns it, its contents sprawling all over the island. “I don’t know what your period’s like, but we’re gonna be snowed in for a while so I got some of everything just in case.” He looks hesitant.
“Oh— thank you,” she says, overwhelmed. There’s three different types of painkillers, all that she already owns, and ten different types of junk food. And they're all for her. Nesta plucks up a package, stunned. “How are gummy worms supposed to help me on my period?”
Cassian leans his elbows on the marble and shrugs. “They’ll make you happy.”
“I’m allergic to gelatin.”
His face falls. “Oh.”
But Nesta just places the gummies in front of him and starts sorting the rest of the stuff. All the chocolates end up on her side, and the candies and gum and hot chips on Cassian’s side. When she's done, she finds him watching her closely. “Did you want some chocolate?” She offers out a Twix bar, her favorite. “I can trade you.”
“Uh, sure.” He accepts her Twix in exchange for his Hot Cheetos.
Silence ensues as Nesta tears open a Toblerone package and breaks off a triangle of nougat, when she remembers she has to tell him something.
“Thank you.” Her words are out of place and out of nowhere, spoken during the wrong time mark of a film and ruining the rhythm of the scene. Despite this, she powers on. “Thank you for breakfast, but also for this. Thank you for everything, really.”
Cassian perks up. “Did you like breakfast?”
Nesta nods through a mouthful of chocolate. “Chocolate chip pancakes are my favorite, and you’re good at making stuff.”
He raises a dark brow. “You mean cooking?”
“Same thing.”
“Well, I’m glad you liked it.”
Nesta slumps in relief, thinking her necessary talking points are over with. She's thanked him for shopping and for breakfast. What more could be— damn.
She clears her throat, even though she doesn't know what to say yet. She won't apologize— she doesn't know if she's physically capable of it, to be honest, but she can still seem regretful.
“Are we over last night?” she says bluntly. So much for regretful.
Cassian seems startled that she's even brought it up, which is perhaps a good sign that he already forgot about it. “Of course,” he says. “Nesta, I really didn't mean to offend you—”
Oh god, he’s not over it. “Don't apologize,” Nesta demands, throwing her hands up to ward him off. “You didn't even do anything, why would you apologize?”
“Well, you looked upset,” he says seriously. Cassian’s apologetic face looks an awful lot like hurt, though Nesta doesn't know why he would possibly feel hurt. Still, she has to pin her stare to the dark cabinets so he can't hurt her in turn. He keeps talking. “I know I promised to push your boundaries, but I never want to hurt you.”
His sincerity is more than disarming; it makes her ache.
“And I hated not talking to you last night.”
That gets Nesta's attention, and she suddenly feels two things at once: a swoop of joy that he likes talking to her, and a heavy drop of guilt that she ignored him all last night, even when he knocked on her door and apologized profusely.
“I fell asleep early,” she decides to lie. “I wasn't ignoring you.”
Cassian smiles softly and reaches out to brush a thumb over the tired circles under her eyes. “I can tell,” he says.
She's gone dead still, but she doesn’t flinch. She doesn't even want to flinch. Cassian clears his throat and drops his hand, and Nesta’s eyes follow him closely. “We’re good,” she says in finality. “Let’s go back to normal now.”
Cassian nods, his face carefully blank. “Okay. Then stop stuffing your face and help me with the rest of the groceries.” He moves off the island and elbows her on the way.
That makes Nesta smile, which makes Cassian smile even harder, and just like that, they’re back to normal.

i am posting this idea so i dont forget lord i am filled with JUICE
ylnow how i love dreamon hunters, ok so i present an AU, i guess I’ll call it
DEMON FOREST AU
or something
Demons exist, corrupted souls of the dead unable to leave the land of the living yet unable to live. So they haunt, they prey and strike terror to the living beings because they can
To combat this, humans have Demon Hunters to trap away such souls.
Hunters can either be a part of a big organisation or be small companies. The latter is such the case for a trio of Hunters, the Dreamon Hunters
Tubbo surprising is the most skilled and qualified, having been taught Demon hunting since young and studied immensely about it. He's the leader of the group, often the guide to the other two's queries
Fundy researches the most about the demons they capture. He writes down every tiny thing he can observe to use for later jobs. When he's not writing, he's inventing new tools to use out on the field.
Sapnap is the one dependable to take one a demon, hand to hand and axe to axe. He's take an apprenticeship under Tubbo to better learn about demons. Mostly because he has some personal questions he wants to figure out.
When taught to be a Hunter, one is always taught that Demons are forever broken. By extent, that is what is most surely known about Demons.
That changes for Fundy, Tubbo and Sapnap after being forced to follow an elusive thief into the Demons' playground - The Demon Forest.
Dream is the thief, who accidently got into this mess when he stole a blank mask fron the Dreamon Hunters. That mask turned out to have a Demon inhabiting it. Usually, the mask caused one who wore it to fall asleep immediately. Hence, with the mask being the first big success of the trio of Hunters, they were named the Dreamon hunters.
Yet somehow, Dream can wear it whilst fully awake. Even more so, living creatures and other demons cannot touch with without being harmed. So this revalation is new for the group, besides the mask gaining a strange smiley face
So now, they must find out answers form the forest and figure out how to safely get the mask back into capture.
Through their adventures, they meet a wide array of demons.
George is a demon of fungal magic and. He controls all of the fungi that reside in the forest. He doesn't meddle with humans often, he doesn't like to bother at all. His form is not so stable, hence why he seems to be a bit glitchy.
Ranboo is like the boogey man with Enderman traits. Like George he doesn't like to stick near humans at all. He has poor memory so he can only remember slivers, such as saying he is the prince of something and that he was scared when he first died. The only thing he surely knows is to avoid Dream.
Bad often resides in the Nether, a dangerous place for most individuals so it is rarely explored. The demon is very powerful, despite his kind nature to other demons. However, the demon was often summoned by Skeppy, a human who loves to play tricks, just to be talked to.
Technoblade and Philza are just retired demon hunters (though they aren't even that old) who ran away into the forest. Techno uses the opportunity to deal with the Voices that haunt him and Phil just awaits a visit from a supposed goddess of death.
Wilbur (Who's just ghsotbur) is a hypnotic type of ghost, able to lure people in with melodic sounds of his guitar. He likes around Phil, often finding solace in calling him "Dadza"
Tommy can alter the forms of other souls to be modified to have the traits of another kidn do soul. For example, he can change a human would to be similar to a chicken. For a living human, that means they'll just act like a chicken. For a Demon, they will change their form into a chicken. The the only soul that Tommy cannot alter is his own.
Quackity is a demon who enjoys a little gamble, despite his power not being that immense. He shown swhen he is able to whisper and convince humans to get risky with their choices. It's not a power that can affect demons however.
Karl Jacobs is a demon who can make others lose track of time. Yet he hismelf loses track of what time it is and which. He is as if he exists outside and within the current space of time, unable to ground hismelf in a specific place.
There have also been sightings of a fox, made of smoke and ice. They say the demon can make illusions and hallucinations. Almost as if someone were in a dream
And there's even more demons that reside within the forest that the Dreamon Hunters meet.
With every step to learning about Dream comes learning more about the nature of Dreamons. And maybe they'll learn how a demon comes to be.
God my mind is buzzing with ideas for this au, this is just for me to make sure I put it down somewhere, so yeah sorry if it's incomprehensible sjjdjdjssbb

Ok ok so Crutchie ♒️🔆☮️
Ahh my boy!!! Alright hang on I gotta figure out what the symbols are for.
OH okay these are fun
Cooking/Food
I think he loves making cakes and cookies and stuff like that, but only the decorating part. The mixing and rolling and "actual baking" is alright but he'd rather let someone else cook the stuff and just come in at the end to make little frosting flowers and do pretty lettering. His cabinets are full of fancy piping tips, no less than a dozen different food coloring colors, a turn table for cake decorating, all that good stuff. Yet, this man does not own a rolling pin. Also, his toaster is older than he is. That's unrelated to the previous stuff, but it just feels right.
As for actual food, I think he has about a dozen different meals that he knows how to make without looking up a recipe and just cycles between them over the course of a few weeks. (Plus, like, sandwiches and canned soups and salads and stuff like that, I mean a dozen hot meals that involve multiple pots and pans and mixing and stuff) He occasionally tries a new recipe, but he knows what he likes and he knows his abilities. He gets all the nutrients and calories he needs and can splurge on take out if nothing he knows how to make sounds good.
His go-to dish for thanksgiving and Christmas and other gatherings is macaroni and cheese, the kind with more cheese than macaroni, and cracker crumbs sprinkled on top
Appearance
Oooh okay this is a fun one because I never really think about appearance. When I just think of Crutchie, I picture AKB but when I write him I don't think I do. I'd say he's on the shorter side, but not remarkably short, just under the average hight for someone his age. Kinda skinny, but still decently strong. I guess Zachary Sayle’s build? Idk this is why I’m not an fanartist, I don’t know what people look like. I usually write him as having dirty blonde hair, and I think he keeps it short, neat, and well-kept, but tries out new styles every once in a while.
His clothing style really just depends on the AU. He always likes bright colors, but he keeps it to one item per outfit that’s colorful or has a fun pattern, the rest is pretty neutral. So like, a simple pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt but then just a bright yellow button-up with flamingos on it. And funky socks. So many funky socks, but he especially loves the kind that look like normal socks until you take your shoes off and they look absolutely ridiculous.
I also typically write him as walking with crutches most of the time, but occasionally using leg braces, or a wheelchair if he needs it. I picture him using forearm crutches and they’re probably blue and there’s probably stickers on them.
Depending on the AU, he has pierced ears and mostly wears simple studs. They all look the same from a distance, but he actually has dozens of pairs in various different colors that he matches to his outfits. I also wrote several paragraphs on tattoos I think he would have in my Against Fate’s Design AU so you can read that here if you want.
Friendship
Besties with Jack, obviously. I always write them as having been best friends for several years before the story takes place, or being brothers if it fits the plot. It sometimes switches between which of them is older, but their dynamic is always the same. They look out for each other and aren’t afraid to call the other out when they’re being stupid (Jack needs to get slapped with reality more often than Crutchie, that man is such a himbo he’s becoming a hazard to society)
Also pretty close with Race (especially when I write them as brothers) and their personalities just match each other so well. They both make jokes a lot but Race is usually big and loud while Crutchie is deadpan and sarcastic. So oftentimes Race will make a joke to the whole room, Crutchie will mutter something beside him, and then Race becomes incomprehensible with laughter for several minutes. Crutchie always refuses to repeat what he said and Race can never keep a straight face long enough to say it.
But beyond those two, I think him, David, and Katherine would be a great trio. They’re all the “smart and responsible” ones in their own ways, but when they’re left alone together, every single brain cell within a ten-mile-radius just disappears. You think the Race/Al/Finch trio are a menace? When they get left alone without supervision they come back with a dozen baby chicks and a goldfish. When Crutchie, Davey, and Katherine are left alone together something ends up broken, on fire, blown up, or all three in the name of science. AKA: One of them asked the other two “what would happen if we broke, burned, and/or blew up this random household object?” The answer is chaos, just always chaos.
#I really went ‘oh I don’t know that much about appearance’ and then proceeded to write multiple paragraphs#also I’m so used to calling him Charlie that I sometimes genuinely forget that his canon name is Crutchie#thank you thank you for the ask#jacobi’s dELI#crutchie morris#newsies#newsies headcanons

CHAPTER 2: The Second Lesson
Yerkir ─ The Earthy Elder ─ scoffed as soon as you stepped in the haven.
You glanced at her, watching as she shifted to a new position on the stump ─ left leg bending to rest her foot on the woody surface while her right foot twisted to plant itself firmly on the ground ─, letting her arms resting sloppily on her knees; eyes directed to the woods. You averted your eyes to look straight ahead, ignoring her, and the reassuring squeeze you felt on your shoulder made you fix your gaze on your Grandma.
“So… How was the hunt?” Yerkir asked in a knowing tone, clearly aware that you didn’t have anything in your hands but still choosing to mock you. She tapped her foot on the stump while groping her dress, searching for something through her pockets. She finally found it ─ some kind of dried root that looked like a stick ─, chewing mindlessly with her eyes still fixed on the horizon.
“Why don’t you go look for something better to do, Yerkir?” Grandma muttered, rolling her eyes as she let go of your shoulder. She stopped, fixing the staff on the ground before leaning on it, eyes fixed on her old friend ─ which was promptly returned. The Earthy Elder fixed her gaze at your grandma for a few seconds, a blank expression almost flattening her wrinkles, her blinking showing her astonishment.
“Maybe because I’m blind” The Elder pointed out, grimacing obnoxiously. She turned her eyes to you ─ as if she knew you were about to giggle ─, studying you for a moment before clicking her tongue and pursing her lips, sending a shiver down your spine under the intensity of her gaze.
Yerkir's milky eyes always had the power to terrify you; her icy-bluish eyes seemed to be capable of diving into your soul and exposing all your deepest secrets to the world. You didn’t have anything to hide but it still scared you. Her gaze was stern, unwavering, and it had the power to freak you out; studying you slowly as if she just knew whatever was going inside your body and mind.
“We had some… Issues” Your Grandma waved her hand dismissively “The animals preferred to retire themselves” She added, getting a snort as an answer. Yerkir leaned back on her palms, throwing you both an amused look before tilting her head, lips quivering in a silent mockery.
“Yeah, I could tell this much” She nodded, her amusement morphing into a serious frown “I guess Nature wasn’t so satisfied with you for helping out a… Man” She spat the last word with disgust as if just the mention of it twisted her stomach “You should have let him die” She muttered darkly, averting her eyes to the cottages on her left expectantly, prompting you to do the same.
“What was it?” The Airy Elder came out from her cottage, voice sounding like a soft breeze, a gentle huff that tinkled in the air “Has someone called me?” She inquired, eyes attentive as she swiveled her head to look around the place.
The open space ─ a simple circular terrain with a bunch of stumps and rocks randomly arranged around a campfire ─ was surrounded by The Four Elders' cottages and The Tent in a placement that resembled slightly a pentagram but not really. The other’s cabins could be easily seen from there, scattered around the clearing, which made the small place just perfect for all the sixteen of you to hang out. The few of you who stood there at the moment, though, had to shake your head, getting a confused frown from the elder.
“The voices are getting more chaotic each day…” She complained under her breath, fixing her gaze on her friends “Are you two fighting again?” She scolded, hand to her hip as they looked at her with arched brows.
“Go talk to the wind, airhead!” Yerkir sneered, fighting back a smirk “Let me fight wet-pants in peace!” She rolled her eyes, waving her hand dismissively. Your Grandma rubbed her temples, sighing before looking at you, holding your gaze for just a little bit before averting her eyes to the sarcastic elder.
“Look, it wasn’t his time” She stated, speaking slowly so Yerkir would pay attention to her words “I can’t ignore what Nature wants because you hate mankind” She rolled her eyes, fed-up with the woman “Caeli, please blow some sense into her mind” She pleaded, averting her gaze to The Airy Elder.
“Some people don’t have anything inside their brains” She shrugged, giving a judging look to Yerkir “The earth magic is solid enough to block her ears… Have been like this for years now” She sighed, shaking her head in disappointment “She just can’t listen to us”
“Next time try saying something smart” She spat angrily “I have a lot of things inside my brain! One of those is a fucking head trauma! Thank you very much for asking” She sat straight, getting up from her stump and glaring at the other two “Should I remind you that this solid magic was what kept your child safe?” her eyes buried imaginary holes into Caeli’s brain.
If you tried hard enough, you could cut the tension with a knife.
“That’s enough!” The Fiery Elder interjected, voice spreading like fire on dry grass before vanishing suddenly, getting everyone’s attention. The Tent entrance’s fabric rustled, giving way to the old lady to come out; stern eyes darting between the other three elders, a frown wrinkling her face, casting shadows over her eyes “We should be handling The Coven issues, not fighting over silly things” She added, crossing her arms.
“Issues?” Grandma asked surprised, looking to the other ones “Something happened while I was out?” She added, furrowing her brows with a serious expression, dropping the taunting. Yerkir mumbled something incomprehensible, casually sitting cross-legged on the ground in a rapid motion, fingers gripping her chin in a pensive way.
“Something has been messing up my vision” She began, resting her elbow on her knee and curving her back forward “There is too much magic permeating the woods, I can no longer see clearly…” She admitted, letting go of her chin and straightening up again, gaze fixing on you “What did you do in the woods? I suddenly lost track of you before you got to the… Boy” She scrunched her nose to the last word.
“Nothing?” You answered unsurely “I mean… Something strange happened…” You glanced nervously to your Grandma, biting your lip before continuing, “I think the wind talked to me” You admitted before looking at Caeli “Maybe my powers are awakening?” You suggested, uncertain, and she pursed her lips, nodding in wonder.
“Well, you’re seventeen… Months away from your eighteenth birthday” She mused “It’s quite possible… It’s about time for your powers to show up anyway” She shrugged, looking at Yerkir “It could be magic enough to mess your senses… The Winds were quite agitated earlier” The Earthy Elder hummed, tapping her chin before tilting her head in deep thought.
“And you, Wiha?” She asked, staring at your Grandma “What was that? A memory spell? You know far too well it’s not your specialty” She pointed out, arching her brow “Last time I checked, your earth magic was bullshit” She scorned, and your Grandma grimaced at her in discontent.
“Well, last time I checked your lazy ass didn’t want to help me out so I had to do it all by myself” She sneered, glaring at the old woman. They held each other’s gaze for a while, a silent battle for dominance; pursed lips and fierce eyes determined to win their competition.
“Not the point here” Isati reminded, sighing tiredly “There is no doubt other witches are alive and enchanting the woods along with us… The mixed signals we’re receiving must be from this” She mused, averting her gaze to Caeli “The voices sound familiar? Do you think they are trying to locate us as well?”
“I can’t discern the voices that well anymore… The enchantments are getting in the way somehow” She sighed, lowering her head “I have been sending messages around, though… None of my whispers were answered until now… I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful” Isati hummed, waving at her to dismiss any concerns.
“It’s the same for me” Yerkir agreed “The ground is too embued with magic… It seems like they have been planning something… Maybe an attack? There is just so much I can see now, so I can’t locate them for us… The other Covens were well hidden before but never like this” She sighed, averting her eyes “It’s like they took my vision all over again”
“The boy had other enchantments beside mine” Your Grandma added “They know we are close to them… It would be impossible not to sense my magic in the river” She pinned her chin, thinking deeply about something “Did they choose to ignore us, or are they challenging us?” She raised her eyes to Isati, a serious frown taking over her features.
“There is no reason for witches attack each other” Isati stated firmly but Yerkir scoffed, nodding sarcastically.
“Are you kidding me? We don’t know what they have been through… There are twenty years behind us! This is enough time to change someone” She pointed out, skeptical “It will be safer if we make sure they don’t want any trouble… Imagine fighting some old hags with a bunch of useless kids” She gestured to the witches and warlocks around “Most of them didn’t even get their powers yet! They will die on spot”
“What if they attack us when we find them?” Isati arched her brows and Yerkir scoffed.
“Well, what if they attack us when they find us?” She retorted “It’s better to be attacked out there than giving away our location to them… What if they track us without magic? We don’t know anything about them! It’s better to show ourselves and actively try to reach for them and talk this out” Everyone nodded in agreement, a heavy silence falling upon all of you.
The Elders exchanged a look, concerned about the worried expressions all of you held at once, the tension building to a point that it was impossible not to feel uncomfortable. The Earthy Elder cleared her throat, tapping her feet on the ground in a calming rhythm while The Airy Elder whistled, both of them trying to ease your mind and soul. One by one, each one of you seemed to finally calm down, releasing the withhold breath in your chest and relaxing your bodies.
“We’ll need a plan” Isati announced, eyes roaming around “We can have a private meeting later… For now, we should keep our activities” She decided, throwing you a look “We should increase your sessions if your powers are beginning to show up” She suggested “Meet me at the tent when you’re ready” And that being said, she turned around, arms crossed on her back before she walked out.
You stared at her hands.
To be more precise, to the lack of them.
“Didn’t your Grandma teach you that staring is impolite?” Chan whispered in your ears, his warmth suddenly registering in your mind. You let out a yelp, turning around to meet his playful eyes, a thin smirk adorning his lips. How could he be so beautiful? “I see you’re keeping my coat to yourself… You didn’t need to hide it, you could just ask me for it” He joked, and you widened your eyes.
Oh, Mother Nature! His coat
“Oh, yeah! Haha…” You forced a smile, your fake laughter being way too obvious to him. He raised his eyebrow, curious “Well, about that… I may have given it away to the boy Grandma saved” You looked away, ashamed to admit it.
“Oh” He said in realization, brows arching up in surprise “That’s okay… It wasn’t really special or anything” He shrugged “It was just an old coat, I can live without it… Maybe you can help me buy a new one when you turn eighteen” He said shyly, looking away “We can buy it at the village or something” He concluded flustered.
Was it just you or Bang Chan was asking you out on a date?
“Wow… This must be the most awkward flirting I have ever witnessed” Minho spoke up, carrying a bunch of sticks to the campfire “It amazes me how you guys managed to spend seventeen years of your life being gross” He decided to add, dropping the sticks to the ground and dusting off his hands, eyes averting to you.
It would be impossible to ignore his resemblance with The Earthy Elder.
“It amazes me how you managed to spend eighteen years of your life by giving opinions no one ever asked” You retorted, grimacing at him. Chan chuckled beside you, looking at his friend in amusement, while Minho feigned a laugh, hands going to his hips.
“Sixteen to be more precise” He corrected “I’ve only learned to speak at the age of two”
You just rolled your eyes at his antics.
/////
The sessions with The Fiery Elder wasn’t helping at all.
The blurry scene flipped over and you could feel the hard pang on your stomach ─ as if someone carried you like a sack of potatoes ─, pain increasing as said someone trotted, jerking your body up and down and making the trip too uncomfortable. The next thing you distinguished was some kind of fabric falling over your head, muffling all the sounds around and rustling on your ears, prompting you to shake your head eagerly to drop it.
The first thing you noticed when the fabric fell to the ground was the casting glows on everyone’s blurred faces ─ a stunning dance that distracted you for a brief moment, drawing you to roam your eyes around to discover its source. The second thing that got to your senses was the increasing heat that emanated at your back, enticing you to turn around, and the burning feeling that hit your cheeks disturbed you.
But not as much as what you saw.
The nameless figure was consumed by the flames right before your eyes, and you could swear she looked right into them before shouting her lungs out ─ the most vivid sound you ever heard. The screech seemed to engrave itself on the back of your mind; the contradictory effect that it had with the stunning flames overwhelming you to the point you felt your soul getting out of your body before it struck back to you.
The screech that slipped from your lips morphed into hers.
You shoot your torso up ─ gasping for air as if your life depended on it, chest going up and down with the heavy breathing ─, eyes roaming around the place bewildered, trying to make sense out of the wall right before your eyes instead of the burning flames. You blinked rapidly, taking a few seconds to realize that the intense noise that filled your ears right now had nothing to do with the crowd but with the constant slamming of the windows and the door caused by the boisterous wind.
Chan stormed in, eyes darting around the place and hands raised to protect himself from the random objects that flew in every direction, crashing on the walls with loud thuds that startled you even more. You met his eyes for a second, and he must have noticed the horror in them because he rushed in your way, hunching his shoulders to avoid being hit, while you returned your gaze to the gale forming inside your house.
“What happened?! Are you okay?” He yelled for you to listen, hands wandering around your arms, groping them to look for bruises “I heard you scream… What happened?” He shouted when you didn’t answer him, eyes too focused on the ruckus caused by the wind. You felt the mattress sinking, his body beside yours as he cupped your face, guiding your gaze to meet his; eyes diving deep into yours “Y/N? Answer me, Sweetheart… What happened? Are you okay?” He asked softly.
This time you actually focused on him and the twirling wind dissolved into a calm breeze just like magic; the silence that followed it quickly broken by all the clattering and thudding from the objects falling to the ground. You ignored it all, focusing on his eyes and your uneven breathing, letting yourself get lost in his gaze for a moment before your eyes darted to his lips ─ his pink and plump lips that broke apart to gasp ─, returning to dive into his eyes once more.
He tried to focus his eyes on yours but you noticed how he darted them to your lips twice before he bit his own, blushing profusely and adjusting his hold on your face with trembling fingers; head tilting slightly to the side as if he would lean for a kiss. You felt your heart race into your chest, ramming into your ears as you withheld your breath, spreading some kind of warmth all over your body as you felt yourself blush, all flustered and expectant.
The moment was broken by a sudden burst that made you yelp, hundreds of sparks crackling from the ground to form a shaky translucent figure in the middle of your room: The Fiery Elder’s concerned spiritual projection, looking around the place with a frown before finally fixing her gaze on you. The way that Chan jerked away from you ─ stumbling backward, trying to straighten himself before bowing respectfully ─was nothing but comical, and you had to fight back a chuckle as you got out the bed, bowing to the elder.
She raised her hands to dismiss the formalities.
“W-We didn’t do anything!” He stuttered, floundering his hands in the air anxiously “I heard her scream and rushed to see what happened! That was it! I wasn’t going to ki—“ The Elder snorted, interrupting his rambling, shaking her head in amusement.
“Calm down, son” She arched her brow, eyes glinting playfully “I sensed something wrong… I was just checking on her” She looked around the place, studying the untidy floor for a bit, humming “Was it your powers?” She asked, and you nodded when her eyes laid on you again “This kind of manifestation is not a good sign… We’ll need to fix it” She sighed, glancing at him.
“Yes, Ma’am?” He asked promptly, crossing his arms behind his back and fixing his gaze on her, pursing his lips.
“Bring her to me, Mr.Bang” She requested, looking at the ceiling “Vivi, can you please tidy this up? We don’t need Wiha whining when she returns from the village” She added, getting the vines to slowly untangle from the beam “Also…” She smirked, figure beginning to flicker “Try to keep your hands to yourself, son… It’s just a few months” the mocking grin was followed by the crackling sparks consuming her projection before bursting in the air, letting both of you alone once again.
////
The spear crossed the air like an arrow, sticking in the trunk behind you.
You widened your eyes ─ body pressed against the tree as if you tried hard enough you could pass through it ─, knees giving away as soon as the beast hissed, as startled as you, running away instead of attacking as it intended to do just a few seconds earlier. You slid down, trembling and groping the trunk as you sat down on the grass, raising your glossy eyes to meet an upset Chan striding in your way.
He gripped the spear filled with anger, yanking it out and throwing you a look.
“What the hell?” He fumed, clenching his jaw before scoffing “Do you think it’s a game or something?! You could have died, Y/N!” He yelled, sticking the shaft to the ground “What were you thinking?!” He asked in a demanding tone, eyes burying into yours.
You shrunk under his tone, gripping the grass and lowering your head, ashamed.
“I heard someone…” You muttered, risking a glance at him “They called my name” You added, bringing your knees closer to you “I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…” You felt the tears coming to your eyes, the sudden faltering on your tone getting his attention immediately.
“Don’t cry” He sighed, letting his shoulders relax and squatting next to you, hand trailing to your jaw, inviting you to look at him “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that” He brushed your cheek, letting go of your face and supporting himself on the shaft “You can’t get distracted like this on a hunt, Y/N… It could have costed your life” He took a deep breath, exhaling heavily.
“I know… You’re right, I should be more careful” You agreed, sighing and adjusting yourself to get up. He was faster than you, standing up and extending his hand for you to take, helping you out “My Grandma would kill you if I died on your watch” You chuckled, and he snorted nodding.
“My mother would have killed me on spot” He joked “The first lesson to the new witch would be murdering young handsome warlocks out there” He added, smirking when you shot your head to look at him, arching your brows in amusement.
“Murdering a young handsome warlock?” You scoffed, playfully shocked “You’re flattering yourself again…” You shook your head in feigned disappointment, mocking him.
“I’m just saying what is inside your mind” He teased, and you brought your hands to your hips, letting out an offended gasp “What? Your head is filled with me” He sang, poking your forehead fondly.
“Well, I wasn’t the one trying to kiss you earlier” You reminded him, grimacing.
“You weren’t stopping me either” He retorted, smirking smugly at you, making you roll your eyes and pull your hand away from his grip.
“Stop flirting with me, Channie” You poked his cheek “I’ll be eighteen soon enough” You teased, and this time he blushed, looking away “Oh? I see… Is Channie’s head all filled with me?” You mocked, poking his cheek again, laughing when he didn’t retort you “Looks like the young handsome warlock is whipped” You hummed, smirking.
“You’re the one to talk” He chuckled, tilting his head and taking your chin between his fingers, leaning closer to your face. You felt your face burning, looking everywhere but his eyes before he scoffed, prompting you to look at him “Just a few more months before I can finally—“ He couldn’t finish his sentence, knocked to the ground suddenly by someone crashing into him. The violent impact startled you but the yelling followed right after it and the grip on your wrist, yanking your body, was even more baffling.
“Run!” The stranger demanded, sprinting with you.
You followed his call, too surprised to think straight, sprinting with him for a few seconds before the realization hit you. You looked back, glancing over your shoulder to see an enraged Chan tugging his spear from the ground and preparing to shoot it your way, cold-steel eyes focused on the guy that dragged you with him. You returned your gaze to the stranger, his warm brown hair flew in the wind, whipping his cheeks, and you caught a glimpse of his widened dark eyes and red lips, a frown on his face suggesting that he was as scared as you.
Kim Seungmin.
“Wait!” You yelled, trying to dig your feet on the ground but his fear was enough to give him the strength to haul you “Stop!” You tried again, struggling to overpower him before the sudden sharp noise got to your ears. You didn’t even have the time to register what it meant, eyes snapping to the spear crossing the air as fast as an arrow, curving just enough to miss you and impale Seungmin’s head “Watch out!” You shouted, jolting your body to take away his balance, throwing both of you to the ground.
The next few moments were a blurry mess.
You could tell you were rolling down a knoll; body jerking on the ground as the bunch of confusing and spinning images unraveled right in front of your eyes, making you dizzy and nauseous. A mix of muffled sounds reached your ears ─ partly from the leaves you crunched and partly from the rustling fabrics of your clothes ─ along with your hissing as the roots and shrubs in the way hit you both mercilessly, bruising your skin. The bewildering moment fogged your senses but you could still feel Seungmin’s arms wrapping around you, trying to protect you from further bruising.
“Ouch!” You whined as you hit something particularly hard in the way, feeling that, finally, the speed seemed to decrease by the second. You raised your eyes, catching a glimpse of a focused Chan running your way, spear on hand, and prepared to throw it once more, studying the best opportunity.
The opportunity he was looking for came sooner than you wanted, the rolling ceasing with Seungmin’s body hovering over yours, not giving you enough time to think of a plan. The mysterious boy tried to lift his body, bracing himself on the ground, unaware of the danger that he got himself into, checking to see if you were okay. You sensed the spear getting closer ─ enchanted to go straight to Seungmin ─, and before you could even think of what you were doing, your hand shot to the air while you embraced the boy, trying to protect him mindlessly.
“No!” You shouted, a blast of air coming out of your hands, formed right from the thin air that surrounded you, projecting the spear away. You felt the boy tensing up, glancing at him with wide eyes as his head snapped to the side to verify if he wasn’t seeing things. He let his mouth fall agape, eyes landing on the spear before slowly trailing to you, terrified.
“A-A witch?!” He stuttered, jerking away “Holy –“ He rolled to the side, getting away from you, trying to get up but stumbling over himself. You stood up, hands rose so he could see that you were harmless, cautiously stepping ahead to get closer to him “Don’t come near me!” He shouted, grabbing a random stick on the ground to threaten you, wobbling it in the air.
“This is ridiculous…” Chan sighed, utterly done with the situation, flickering his hand to jolt the stick out of Seungmin’s hands, letting the boy flabbergasted, blinking repeatedly as he tried to understand what had just happened.
“H-Holy cow…” He paled, one hand shooting to his mouth as the other rested on his stomach “H-He… He’s a witch… Holy mother of God” He gagged like he was about to vomit, a nauseous expression taking over his features “I didn’t mean to upset you guys! I-I thought he was harassing you... I-I mean! I didn’t mean to interrupt your… Mating?” He floundered, eyes darting between you as he tried to explain himself.
“We’re not mating!” You interjected, offended “Look, Seungmin –“
“How do you know my name?!” He asked high pitched, voice wavering like a string, hand trailing to his heart as his lips quivered in utter shock, and eyes as big as saucers fixed on you filled with horror. The way he wobbled ─ as if he was about to pass out ─ amused you, and you had to fight back a smile as you watched him shaking in fear, pinching the bridge of your nose and closing your eyes for a moment to concentrate.
“Magic” Chan mocked, flourishing his fingers in the air as a joke, and you burst out laughing, pushing him lightly to scold him “Are all of you dumb like this?” He asked in contempt, and Seungmin didn’t find the courage to answer him right now, so he just stood frozen there “Just like I thought…” He sighed, rolling his eyes.
“Seungmin, you can’t tell anyone about this” You warned, getting closer to him “Do you understand it?” You asked to make sure, looking deep into his eyes and squeezing his shoulder, tugging him out of his thoughts.
“Wait! What?!” Chan blurted out, surprised “He won’t say anything because we will kill him, Y/N” Chan declared, confused by your phrasing, getting a questioning look from you; arched brows challenging him silently “He knows” He pointed out, raising his hand to evoke the spear from the ground, not disturbed by your outrage.
“No, please!” The boy begged, tearing up “Please, spare me! I won’t tell it! I swear!” He kneeled on the ground, hands clasping together in a desperate plead as tears streamed down his face.
“You can bet I’ll spear you” He spat, raising his weapon.
“Wait, you can’t just kill him like this!” You protested, rushing to be in front of the boy, arms wide open “Grandma saved him yesterday! He’s not supposed to die yet!” You defended, and this information seemed to perk up the boy, who shot his head up, staring at you dumbfounded before getting up, grabbing your arms excitedly.
“I knew it wasn’t a dream!” He chirped, hands sliding to your hands to hold them “You sang to me, didn’t you?” He asked flustered, squeezing your hands “The River is flowing… Flowing and growing…” he chanted in a hurried tone, eyes shining as he looked at you “I’m so sorry… I didn’t mean to offend you!” He widened his eyes, realizing his mistakes, and you shrugged him off, chuckling.
“That’s okay” You reassured him, squeezing his hands back “Now you know we won’t hurt you—“
“We?” Chan asked riled up “There is no way I will let him out alive” He said, grabbing your hands and tugging them away, a frown on his face as he glared at the boy “I don’t trust you” He hissed, pointing the sharp metal to Seungmin’s throat, prompting him to gulp down; the boy’s eyes darting to you before focusing on Chan again, cold sweat running down his face.
“He won’t betray us! He owes us his life” You assured him, gripping his wrist “I know he won’t say it! I just know it! I can feel it in my guts!” You continued eagerly, and for a split of a second Chan glanced at you, wondering.
“You’re being naive… We can’t trust him” He decided, returning his gaze to the boy.
“The Wind itself guided me to him!” You insisted “He is the reason why my powers woke up! Nature wants him alive! Please, listen to me” You pleaded, and he scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief.
“This is ridiculous, you can’t know that for sure” He grumbled, frowning but loosening his grip on the spear “He’s just a human… Nature doesn’t have anything to do with him” He concluded, tightening his grip again, pressing the weapon against the tender skin.
As if on cue, the wind blew through the trees.
“It’s just a coincidence” He muttered, averting his eyes to the twirling breeze that swept the leaves around “Also, if we were letting him go alive, we would have to take away his memories again and neither of us knows how to do this…” He pointed out “The bare minimum would be taking him to Yerkir” He stated matter-of-factly.
“You know far too well that she would kill him!” You accused, pointing your finger at him.
“If we let him go alive with his memories, she’ll kill us” He reminded you, and you rolled your eyes at him.
“Listen to me just this once, Chan” You pleaded, cupping his cheek to guide his eyes to meet yours “You are connected to Nature… You have wind running through your veins… Please, make an effort! I know you can listen to it too” You continued, and he sighed under your touch, looking at you in defeat.
“I can’t believe you’re making me consider it” He complained, retracting his spear from his throat and inhaling deeply before closing his eyes, exhaling slowly. The silence fell upon you three as he took deep breathes ─ a blank expression on his face, as if he was meditating ─ before he extended his hand to touch Seungmin’s face “What the—“ He shot his eyes open, gasping as he looked flabbergasted at the boy, hand jolting away.
“What? What is it?” You asked curiously, and he threw you a quick look before clearing his throat and fixing himself, hand combing his hair nervously.
“He’s fine… You can go, mate” He mumbled, nodding to the wood’s entrance. The boy frowned, confused, glancing at you before returning his gaze to him questioningly “What are you waiting for? Just go” Chan growled, and the boy’s curiosity seemed to fade away immediately, prompting him to walk in your way.
“Thank you so much” He said as he grabbed your hands again, looking too deeply into your eyes for Chan’s taste “I owe you my life” He kissed the back of your hand, making you giggle “Again” He added, chuckling before kissing your knuckles.
“Stop flirting and go away” Chan rolled his eyes, throwing him a disgusted look.
The boy trotted away, turning back a few times to wave at you ─ which made the warlock scoff each time, obviously filled with jealousy ─, to what you gestured back, smiling to him. You chuckled and arched your brows, studying how Chan seemed to relax when Seungmin couldn’t be seen anymore, letting out a puff of air that he didn’t realize he was holding in. You nudged him before grinning teasingly, watching as he pursed his lips, averting his eyes from you and resuming his hunting, ignoring the way you looked at him.
“Jealous, aren’t we?” You asked playfully but he didn’t answer “Hey, why are you acting like this? He’s fine! You saw it yourself! He won’t tell anyone and hopefully, he won’t come back to the woods” You whined, and he sighed, stopping in his tracks.
“What if I am?” He muttered under his breath, and you tilted your head in confusion “What if I’m jealous?” He clarified, looking directly at you “Why didn’t you tell me that you guys were synchronized?” He asked displeased, averting his eyes ashamed “I’ve heard of it before but… I never met one myself” He sighed, hurt painting his face.
“What are you talking about?” You asked, bewildered, looking at him as if he had grown a third head.
“You’re synchronized…” He repeated himself, looking away “There is no way that he would betray you. Ever. Simply meant to be into each other’s life” He mumbled unwillingly.
“Like a soulmate?!” You blurted out, eyes widened in shock.
“Yeah…” He bit his lip, uncomfortable “Something like this”
/////
The wind brought more voices.
You stopped your motions for a moment, the knife buried into the meat as you deboned your hunt, wiping your sweat away with your hand and looking around to make sure that no one was talking near you. The indecipherable whisper seemed to increase ─ thousands of voices sounded in your mind at the same time, blabbering in your ears, echoing like leaves rustling in the woods ─ until they morphed into clearer patterns, the voices sounding incredibly clean inside your head.
She met the boy again, The first understandable sentence echoed like sand falling in an hourglass. Don’t blame me when everything goes down the drain!
The Earthy Elder.
It will all be fine… The second voice sounded like a flowing river, calm and determined. Neither of them knows anything.
Your Grandma.
I had to tone down her energy again, Wiha… The crackling voice was warm and worried, a warning hanging in the air. I can’t push it away forever and you know it… Her powers got out of control today.
The Fiery Elder.
The way her power is manifesting is a bad sign, The soft twinkling voice agreed. If we keep her memories away like this, her powers will keep unstable… At least with a spell of that level.
The Airy Elder.
You frowned, pursing your lips as you tried to make sense of their conversation. The Elders were gathering on the tent right now, supposedly discussing the failed attempt to bring back a witch they sensed earlier in the village… The talking didn’t seem to be about it, though. Was it too much of a coincidence that the missing witch met some boy again and had lost control of her powers on the same day as you? The Fiery Elder herself had just said she helped to control this witch’s energy and she wasn’t even in the mission….
There was no way they weren’t talking about you.
If Yerkir wasn’t an asshole, she would fix my spell! Your Grandma hissed. You’re egoistic! You know far too well that it is dangerous for her to remind things! Especially since we’ve been lying to her all her life!
They’ve been lying to you?
We?! I didn’t want to lie to her! It’s all on you! It’s not my fault you were a coward! Yerkir barked. The girl should know her mother was murdered! You shouldn’t have taken this memory away from her!
You let your shoulders drop, widening your eyes as you snapped your head to the Tent; mouth falling agape as you registered what they just said. The memory spell… She had used it on you! She had taken away your memories… She has been lying to you all this time… Your mother didn’t die giving birth to you.
She was murdered.
She wasn’t prepared! Your Grandmother yelled, and you could even hear the scorn on Yerkir’s voice when she scoffed. And she’s not prepared yet! We can’t have her wanting revenge! She’ll expose us!
Really? Because I think you are too scared she can hate you now! Yerkir retorted. Her mother was a human, Wiha! They shouldn’t have killed her! She has the right to hate them all! You should hate them too!
Your mother was a what now?
You didn’t even know how you got so fast to the tent ─ gale following you closely as Yerkir’s voice hissed a “She’s coming! Everybody quiet!” ─, arms fluttering the entrance’s fabric before you shoot all of them a betrayed look, eyes filled with rage. The wind turmoiled into the place, sending chairs and blankets in a twirl in the air, startling The Elders for a second before Caeli forced everything down with her powers.
The Elders stood up, attentive to your outburst but clueless, watching as you stormed in to point accusingly to Wiha. You heard some members mumbling behind you, close enough for you to feel them with your energy but not loud enough for you to understand what they were saying, though it was clear they were curious and puzzled.
The Watery Elder held your wrist, confused by why you were acting like this, looking into your eyes in search of answers that she couldn’t find. You looked back straight at her, eyes watering as you felt your face twisting in a pained expression that baffled her for a moment before you finally decided to speak up.
“You lied to me!” You growled, tears streaming down your face.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Sweetheart” She said calmly, fueling your rage. You yanked your hand away from hers, shooting her a glare before looking to the other elders, lips twisted down in a displeased frown “You should calm down” She suggested, glancing at the others so they could try to soothe you with their magic.
“I heard all of it! All of you! You’ve been lying to me my whole life!” You bawled, pressing your eyes for a moment to try and stop the tears “When would you tell me?! When would you say to me that my mother wasn’t a witch?!” You inquired, demanded her to answer you, and she let her mouth fall agape, taken aback by your question.
“It’s not what it sounds like” She guaranteed, and you scoffed, grimacing at her “You’re a witch, it’s just that—“
“I don’t want to hear it!” You growled, “I don’t want to hear your lies anymore!” You wailed, turning away “What about the second lesson?!” You asked, stopping in your tracks, face twisted in hurt as she tried to mumble something “What is the second lesson, Wiha?!” You yelled, turning to look at her, catching a glimpse of her disappointment as her name came out of your lips.
“You’re home here… You don’t know the whole story” She said in a pleading tone, trying to get closer to you “Let me show you… I will give it all back to you” She promised, “You don’t understand…” She continued in a small voice, and you let out a humorlessly chuckle.
“There is no way I can understand you… I don’t belong here, right?” You smiled bitterly “ Stick to your kind… There is where you will be welcomed and truly loved” You recited, lowering your head for a second “What is it? Something you made up after her death? Something you made up because you were afraid that someone like me would expose you all?” You snarled, resuming your striding.
“You’re not a human! She wasn’t a witch but—“ She reached for you, grabbing your shoulder and forcefully turning you around to meet her, eager eyes looking to explain everything to you.
You yanked your arms away from her, the sudden whipping motion blasting air out of nowhere and projecting her body back, knocking her down. The following scenes seemed to run in slow motion, and you stood there dumbfounded as you watched her head hit violently against the stump before thirteen heads snapped at you. The weight of twenty-six eyes filled with fear and perplexity crashed you as you noticed how her limbs went limp, neck wobbling before letting her head fall to the side, unconscious.
“What is going on?” The Earthy Elder gave some lost steps forward, looking around in confusion, rubbing her feet in the ground and digging them a little, a frown on her face indicating that she couldn’t see anything; probably blinded by the magic running free out of you, “What happened?! Who was it?” She asked again when she met no answers, voice trembling as if she was about to cry.
The shock gave away to shame.
The shame gave away to disgus
The disgust prompted you to run.
And run you did.
You ran for dear life, hoping that somehow you could run away from yourself too as you left the haven behind you to go into the woods. The gale followed you closely, almost morphing into a storm as the sky seemed to darken above you, throwing shadows ahead that suddenly confused you to the core. The so well-known path felt like a maze right now ─ trees seemed to jumble together and the soil seemed too soft for your feet, dragging you as you tried to make your way through it ─, and you were quite sure it didn’t have anything to do with your teary eyes.
The woods were being enchanted.
I can’t see anything! I can’t track her! Yekir yelled to the four winds, clearly frustrated, and you could almost hear the way she punched the ground out of frustration, letting go of her pain on each blow.
Yerkir! Caeli! Enchant it all! Boys! Track her down and bring her back! Isati ordered around like a general, burning in despair. Everyone else into the tent! Now! I need help with Wiha… She finished with a whisper, and you gulped down, filled with guilt, returning your focus to the woods ahead of you.
The wind suddenly shifted to the left, as if it was calling you there, guiding you through all the magic that fogged your senses, and you followed it gladly, grateful though disoriented. You ignored how everything seemed to drag you down, to bind you and force you to stay. You ignored how you could listen to the boys ─ Chan, Minho, and Changbin ─ screaming your name from somewhere behind you, close enough for you to be sure that it wasn’t the wind anymore. You ignored how your heart faltered when you finally reached the entrance, the village right before your eyes.
It was beautiful.
“Y/N!” You closed your eyes, pursing your lips down as you breathed deeply “Y/N, please… Come with me” You turned back to see Chan getting closer to you, eyes so desperate that you almost agreed with him without thinking “They’re waiting for you… I am waiting for you… Please” He pleaded, tearing up.
“I don’t belong there” You smiled sadly, getting closer to him to cup his cheek, making him lean for your touch “We don’t belong together, Chan” You muttered, fighting back your tears.
“I love you” He blurted, holding your face with his hands, almost too afraid to touch you, as if he could just shatter you to pieces “I love you… I know we can’t be together yet but it will be just a few months… You will be eighteen and it will be alright… We can be together…” He mumbled, tears rolling down his face as he tried to convince you.
You were sure that his powers showed he couldn’t.
“We can run away!” He offered, voice trembling with despair, thin and fragile in the air “I’ll run away with you… We’ll be fine… I—“ He choked on his tears, and you caressed his cheek slowly, lovingly.
“Stick to your kind, Chan…” You rested your forehead on his, sighing “I can’t truly love you… You said for yourself, didn’t you? I have a soulmate… You were right… We’re not meant to be after all” You grazed your thumb over his bottom lip, diving into his eyes I’m sorry” You brushed your lips on his, blowing into his mouth before he fell to the ground, asleep.
Not a real spell but it would have to do for now.
You turned your back to him, looking up to the dark sky above you; the night already casting your shadows around, prompting people to get inside their houses. You inhaled deeply before exhaling slowly, trying to get all your feelings out of your chest. You resumed your running, following the wind and sliding through the houses, being as stealthy as you could even if you didn’t really think that people were still awake by this time.
The wind suddenly stopped ─ right in front of a small house where a boy held a lamp right before his face, the flames dancing around and casting some lights on him, revealing a blurry figure that you knew to be Seungmin ─, so you just knocked on the door, expectant, waiting for a few moments before the confused boy opened his door to meet you with startled eyes.
“What are you doing here?” He asked perplexed, studying you from head to toe.
“I need a favor” You confessed.
It was time for him to pay his debts.

As a Team (III)
Brothers-AU Ao3
Part I/II, Part IV
"I like it when the reg's are angry.", Wrecker grinned and left his place as copilot. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow and ground her teeth, the sound earning a slight twitch from Hunter from the corner of her eye. So realized what Jesse had meant hours ago. The attitude that those few words already conveyed pissed her off. "Reg? Good to know.”, she muttered and went back to her pockets. Sighing, she went down on her knees and opened the backpack, it was crammed to the brim with everything she could get from a medic. Burnes must have taken his job seriously, very well. She pushed her way down past the bandages and plasters. Warming blankets, which she had already got to know years ago, were stuck next to some hypnos. She took one out and scanned the label. Some pain relievers and medication in case of shock. Not that she could take any of this! As soon as she had thought through the thought to the end, she spotted a bundle of a few tablets and colored Hypnos tied together at the bottom. Damn it, she owed her medics something now! “Don't take it personally. We don't work with regular clones on a daily basis.", Hunter said next to her and watched as the Jedi put the medical equipment back properly. Then she turned to the other, smaller, bag. “It doesn't matter. I'm afraid of my brothers when they're angry, maybe you should be too?”, she tried to chat lightly, that everyone in the ship was watching her and also had the nerve to want to judge her brothers, pressed her on the mood. There was a big knot in her stomach and she didn't like the way it contracted every now and then.
In the second pocket she found a clean robe, a few rations, and water bottles. She could kiss the boys! If it continued like this, she would soon not have to think about anything at all. But when she pulled the robe out to throw it on, something fell from the folded fabric to the floor. Before she fully understood what it was, Wrecker had already reached for it curiously and Crosshair let out a breath that was reminiscent of a low whistle. Both looked at Ahsoka's old headdress and Wrecker turned it a little. "Wrecker...", Hunter warned and Asoka smiled, he sounded a bit like Rex when she had done something stupid again. Wrecker responded and handed the jewelry back to her, teeth clattering softly against each other. "Scared huh?", smiled Hunter and with a little roll of her eyes Ahsoka stuffed his teeth back into her pocket with the other things. The thought was very sweet and the trophy might earn her respect from Force 99, but she really liked her current clone jewelry. Whenever she saw her reflection in a helmet or mirror, it reminded her where she belonged. With her robe in hand she picked herself up again and threw on the thick, brown fabric. Immediately it enveloped her like a warm hug. "Now she looks like a Jedi!", commented Wrecker, drawing another smile and roll of her eyes from her. When it wasn't about other clones, these men had the potential to be fun people. "Thank you.", she replied, irony loud and clear in her voice. "Sorry, he just doesn't have a mental filter.", Tech announced from the front and this time she had to grin, the flight would be interesting.
Sighing, she made herself comfortable on the floor next to her bag and stretched out her legs. This would be the perfect flight to meditate a little. However, she had only enjoyed it to a limited extent before and did not believe that it would get rid of the uncomfortable tingling sensation under her skin now. Nevertheless, there was silence for a while and Ahsoka closed her eyes for a few seconds. Then she noticed that this wasn't like any of the other flights at all. Nobody sat there and complained, nobody had bent over a datapad to write reports. Kriff, her reports from the past few days! She should have taken her datapad... Even if only to plan the next few hours! Maybe... With a little grunt she got up again, the irritated looks from Wrecker and Crosshair followed her on the way forward. Tech had put the ship on autopilot and seemed to be tinkering with something, she wasn't even going to try to understand what it was! Anakin had taught her a lot, but not that much either. Everything beyond doors, normal droids and small spaceships was out of her league. At least most of the time. "Tech, right?", she asked softly and leaned against the pilot's seat from behind, the clone nodded tightly and precisely. "Do you have a datapad for me?" Sighing, Tech laid his tangle of cables away and bent to one side, datapad in hand he reappeared. When he handed it to her, he eyed her curiously. "What are you going to do with it?", he asked a little suspiciously and Ahsoka had to smile. “I just want to play through my plans a little. Or is there something on it that I am not supposed to find?”, she teased and Wrecker gave a violent snort behind her. Tech continued to stare at her, then shrugged and turned back to his work. Well, then that was settled. With her slender fingers, she switched on the pad and decided, with the luck of her own, to search Tech's collection of data for her target. She found little, but it was better than nothing!
"You just didn't seem like someone who's planning long beforehand.", Hunter remarked as the Jedi sat back down on the floor. She shrugged her shoulders. “My brother had priority, I would go in there blind if I had to. And I think that getting in won't be the big problem...", she mumbled and looked at the few dates and plans in front of her. "But out will be?", Crosshair growled and Ahsoka looked up, he looked at her with a chilled look and when she got goose bumps on the back of her neck under her lekku, she gave him a challenging grin. "Scared?", she grinned broadly and showed her sharp fangs, Crosshair rolled his eyes and turned back to his weapon. Wrecker was still giggling to himself and even Hunter smiled next to her. “But so much effort for a reg? One soldier out of thousands, I just would like to point out.", Tech suddenly called from the front, he turned around a little in the chair and could watch how Ahsoka screwed up her eyes and suppressed a rumble deep in her chest.
Hell, she had a really bad grip on her emotions today! She swallowed the growl and took a deep breath, her heart beating hollow and loud in her chest. "Would you just leave one of those here?", she asked and pointed with a palm around, Tech shrugged his shoulders a little incomprehensibly and Wrecker cocked his head helplessly. However, Hunter's expression when she looked at him had tightened. He stood beside her, tense, leaning against the wall. “I don't know if I can follow completely. You are a Jedi, you have the whole Order behind you, right?", he said softly and Ahsoka almost escaped an amused snort. “My brothers never left my side, without them I wouldn't even have survived the first year. If I have a tiny chance of doing the same for Echo then I'll do it.”, she explained, and as she stared at Hunter, an unexpected lump formed in her throat. "I have to take care of them, all of them.", she pressed out and averted her gaze ashamed, tears tingling in her eyes. Damn it, she hadn't talked about Echo and his 'death' in a long time and she hadn't suspected how much it was still hurting her. The very idea that she might just have left for nothing came with such a headache that she stifled the idea in the bud. "I understand. You will get him back.”, Hunter suddenly mumbled and patted her shoulder hard and sure.
The rest of the flight was quiet, Ahsoka didn't ask why Hunter didn't wrote any reports. She kept her thoughts to herself. Even then, when she almost had to wrestle with Wrecker over one of her rations. But the loud laugh of the massive clone made her grin too. Crosshair still didn't seem to like her much when they started to approach the planet. He stubbornly avoided her gaze. Hunter, on the other hand, seemed to be getting used to her presence, and since the conversation he had made suggestions about her plans from time to time and discussed possible enemies with her. Thanks to him, she now felt as prepared as she could be. Still, she was nervous and restless when she looked out the window and watched the storm outside. "Tech, can you get the signal from here-" A rum interrupted her and they held their breaths for two seconds, then a large head appeared in their field of vision. "What is that?", Wrecker grumbled. “A conspecific simple lizard. The locals worship these creatures because-” “Enough.”, Hunter interrupted Tech, drawing his gun. "Just get it off my ship." "Wait, maybe we should think first and then...", sighing, Ahsoka let the sentence end and ran after the clones into the open, it was no use anyway. Outside the sand pricked her eyes and her bared arms, damn it, she had left the robe inside! At least she was already wearing her backpack. She hastily drew out her lightsabers and got a quick overview. On the ship sat the, truly not pretty, lizard and growled at her with bared teeth. The clones had already opened fire when the back of her head began to tingle violently. Like Rex gave her a brotherly pat. She trusted that feeling. "Get down!", she barked and actually the others followed, just above them another flying reptile shot away and missed the Jedi by a hair's breadth. Ahsoka was immediately on her feet again, her gaze followed the attacker and his rider. If they didn't have to fight these locals, they'd be not stuck here! Maybe... "Wrecker, stand still!", she instructed harshly, the big clone looked at her with noticeable irritation. Right then her window opened. The attacker came down again, the claws already open. With one jump Ahsoka stood on Wrecker's shoulders, with another she landed on the flying reptile and snatched the reins from the rider.
It was impressive how well the animal knew the way home. No sooner had Ahsoka relaxed the reins than it changed direction. Behind her she heard the ship start again and follow them, with a triumphant grin she glanced over her shoulder at the clones.
The flight did not last long, with short and powerful wingbeats the mount landed and Ahsoka swung down. With cries of surprise, the locals backed away from her and cocked their heads. With a grin, Ahsoka patted the reptile next to her briefly and then looked around, the clones were just about to land at the top of the basin in which the village was located. Sliding, they came down to her. "You could have warned us!" Hunter complained a few meters before he reached her and Ahsoka grinned at him. Then she turned to Tech, she wanted to get this done quickly. It wasn't sure if the Techno Union knew of their discovery and if they did, would they kill Echo? Dispose him? "You can translate, can't you?", she asked and Tech jerked his head. “What do you think I am? A protocol droid?", he muttered, but still seemed to get the right program on his glasses. “I want you to tell them about my brother. I will tell you everything you need to know and translate."
Ha, the line of pity had probably pulled! "They provide us with two scouts, they will show us the way to the city and then return home." Ahsoka nodded in agreement, that was a good deal. “Okay, that will do. The main thing is that we get to this damn city faster."
The walk was shorter than expected. After about an hour of brisk walk, they stood on a small ledge and looked at the town in the distance. “Why do you build so high up here? There's nothing to see anyway.", Ahsoka mumbled and shook her head, somehow they would get in there. "I won’t wait for you this time, if you complain again.", Tech grumbled from behind her and astonished Ahsoka looked around at the others. "Wrecker is afraid of heights?", she asked and Wrecker shrugged his shoulders protectively. "No! I only have a problem with... gravity.", he grumbled and the hunched shoulders, the snapped apology, the hunched head. All of this reminded Ahsoka so much of all the younglings in the temple and the clones when they first realized that they were afraid. She couldn't help it, in her head Wrecker snapped like another piece of the puzzle into the picture of her family and a gentle smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "It's okay, I'll try to find an non-seethrough elevator.", she assured him jokingly and then got up. "We should go while the sandstorm can still cover us.", she urged the others to hurry and trotted ahead.
As soon as they had left the slipstream, Ahsoka had to pull the collar of her tunic up over her mouth and nose. The fine grains burned in her eyes, even when squeezed tightly together, it was hard to see anything. Sighing, she closed them. Back to her traditional training then. With a few deep breaths, she forced herself to calm down and let her mind explore the area in waves. Suddenly she realized how much life was hidden in this barren landscape. The little lights of the Techno Union were easy to see, they glowed cold and empty in front of her. But there was something else, it was practically magical. Even if it could hardly be described as alive, she knew that there was her goal. Half blind, she grabbed the wrist of the next clone behind her and dragged him behind her, the wrist too narrow to be Wreckers. Only when they were back in the shadow of the city and the wind eased a little did Ahsoka look up, open her eyes and look around. All the clones were hot on her heels, she had caught Tech and released his wrist from her grip. Then she looked around, there had to be an elevator somewhere! "Over there.", Tech nodded and was already trotting towards one of the pillars of the city, in fact it was adorned with a thickly armored door and a control panel. The group hurried after Tech with crouched heads and, grumbling, Ahsoka sought shelter from the wind behind the thick pillar. If the Techno Union thought they could keep a Jedi away with these weather conditions, then they had clearly underestimated the determination of such a person! She rubbed her bare arms with her rough fingers, the skin felt sore. As if they had been sandblasted. Terrible clothes for this planet, definitely. In addition, it was only half as warm as she had expected, the constant wind made her shiver. Had they flown in Echo and spared him that sand? What agony he had to suffer while she was moaning about such little things... "Are you done?", Hunter growled and Tech snorted, then the door slid open. "Take a look inside.", instructed Hunter Crosshair and the sniper disappeared into the dimly lit room with his weapon raised. A few seconds later his head reappeared. "Yes, thats a lift.", he commented dryly and Ahsoka grinned broadly, it actually earned her an amused shrug from the clone. Hey, he didn't hate her! Maybe this friendship wasn't lost yet? Still grinning, she pushed herself into the elevator, Wrecker hesitated. "Everything is fine Wrecker, I'll hold your hand too.", Hunter teased next to her and the massive clone snorted before squeezing into the narrow space and the doors closing.
As soon as the elevator began to move with a jerk, the grin disappeared from her face. Now the highest concentration was required, Echo's life perhaps depended on it! "Quick in and out, okay? We won't be able to hide our presence, but if we eliminate their droids quickly, they will take a while to regroup. ”Ahsoka explained to the small unit hastily and Wrecker thrust her on the shoulder enthusiastically. "I can do that!" Crosshair shook his head with a sigh, but still checked his weapon one last time. Then the doors suddenly opened and in a flash Ahsoka built herself up as a shield between the clones and droids. Wrecker didn't care, he ran past her with a loud roar and Ahsoka would lie if she said his strength hadn't impressed her a little. Hunter glided past her a little more elegantly and turned to the next opponent with less force but more precision. Tech and Crosshair rose behind her and fired over her shoulders. The shots so close to her ear hadn't frightened her for a long time now! The hangar they had arrived in was quickly emptied and when Ahsoka straightened up, Tech pulled out his datapad and switched it on. Crosshair, meanwhile, leaned forward a little and when he spoke, Ahsoka could hear his smile too. “You know, Jedi. I could get used to that.” “How nice that you like the sword and shield maneuver so much.”, she smiled back a little tense.
At first Tech tried to catch the signal from Echo again. With every passing second, Ahsoka's impatience grew. "They seem to be interfering with my signal, seem to be well prepared.", the clone cursed and Ahsoka sighed deeply, it would take them forever to find Echo. "Leave it be Tech, I'll take care of it.", she hastily interrupted another wave of curses and Tech sighed deeply and painfully, as if Ahsoka had just stolen what he loved. Anyway, there was no time for such thoughts! Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and tried to open up to her surroundings. She had learned from Anakin to pursue goals with the force, so she should be able to find an echo from Echo in the force. Slowly she felt her way forward, away from the hangar in which they were standing and deeper into the city. She did not dare to linger with the members of the Techno Union. They weren't Force Sensitive, but who knows... Maybe they'd notice something after all? Only a tiny light, a weak spark, made her pause. It wasn't a uniform glow like the others, more like the flickering of a small candle flame. "That way!"

Damienette arranged marriage: Part 10
Okay. You will probably either love me or try to kill me for this one. Good corruption is so hard to write.

Chloe sat there, not sure what to make of the discussion. She was about to say something when something crashed through the window. The three teens starred at the form of Chat Noir. He was looking different. His ears and tail were real instead of accesories and instead of bell on his neck he had only a choker with word 'Marinette' written on it.
"My Purrincess! I come to save you!”
------------------------------
One month ago
Adrien was angry. His lady just got married. And it wasn't with him. Something was wrong with this idea. He already had everything planned. He knew what suit he would wear, he had a general idea about the dress, he even chose the place. HIs Lady would not refuse him. And yet, he was too late. She told him several times that she was in love with someone else and now she married this someone. Someone who was not him.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to cry, he wanted to punch something... someone. And not just anyone, but this one person who stole his lady from him. His mind was racing, trying to remember every single detail she revealed. The most important so far was marriage, but he decided to leave that for the last. She definitely liked the Gabriel Brand and often recognized him. She thought she loved someone, but she never revealed many details. Ladybug also...
"I know what you are doing and better drop it." Plagg sounded next to him.
"I can't. She made a mistake. We are destined to be with each other Plagg."
"Are you having a stroke or did Lila steal your last brain cell?" the kwami scolded him harshly. "If ladybug chose someone else, then you should respect her choice and roll with it. Besides, don't you need to be eighteen to marry in this century?"
"She loves me. She just doesn't know it yet! And age is just a number."
"As is the cell number she will end up in if she is with you." Plagg deadpanned.
"No. I... but... We... You said Chat Noir and Ladybug are destined to be together!"
"Yes, but not as a couple you moron. I swear I am always the one who gets the dummies..." Plagg moaned to himself. "The two miraculous are destined to be used together or they will create imbalance. There can never be Ladybug without Chat Noir for a prolonged amount of time or we risk another pompei."
"I don't care! She's my lady! We are made for each other!" Adrien almost screamed.
"Tikki help me... You are an idiot." Plagg just stated and phazed through the wall to get to his hidden camembert stash. He was too hungry to deal with mr. possessiveness right now.
Adrien huffed at the actions of his Kwami. The gluttonous cat knew nothing. He was Ladybug's perfect partner in both fighting Akumas and in life. With that thought he fell asleep.
----------
Next day school seemed plain and boring. Just like he expected Lila made sure Marinette did not have a chance to explain herself. Why did this two girls couldn't get along. He sighted. From his place he could not really see Marinette in the back, but he was almost certain she would be okay. This was Marinette he was thinking about. She was pretty much their everyday-ladybug. He frowned at the thought. Stupid someone. If only he could punch this person in the face.
Plagg didn't talk to him at all, choosing to instead stash himself with ungodly amounts of cheese. Who needed this lazy cat anyway? It's not like he had to be Chat Noir. He could do whatever he wanted.
After classes he tried to speak with Marinette, but she just brushed him off and run to her home. He just shrugged. She was strong, smart and resourceful. She was almost like Ladybug except without powers. And she was just as pretty. Maybe even prettier because she had no mask covering half of her face. But she still wasn't his Lady. Adrien sighted as he got into the limousine. The Gorilla took him home. Like always the bulky man only grunted instead of speaking. If someone replaced him with a semi-shaved gorilla most people wouldn't notice. Adrien would, but probably no one else.
When they arrived at the mansion Nathalie was already waiting for him. She had her usual emotionless expression, but Adrien noticed the corners of her lips were slightly upward.
"Adrien. Your father wants to speak with you." She started.
"Father? What does he want?" Adrien asked as politely as possible. It was very unusual for Gabriel to demand a meeting with his son.
"It's best if he tells you himself." Nathalie did not reveal anything.
"Okay." Adrien smiled sadly. Usually in this kind of situations it meant something bad.
She led him to the atelier where his father stood by the drawing board.
"Welcome son. Nathalie, leave us." Gabriel's voice showed surprising amount of emotions for him. The assistant nodded and walked out of the room. The father and son were now alone in large room. "Come here Adrien." The older man did not need to make any hand gestures. His voice emphasized the order enough.
"What is it Father. Nathalie said you wanted to speak with me."
"Yes, but not here." Gabriel simply shut down all further questions. Adrien stood next to him curious when the older man pressed several buttons that were parts of the painting of Emilie. The ground below them lit and Adrien found himself on an elevator going down. A large hall lit in front of him. There were rows of lanterns on the walls and a single catwalk in the middle that led to some green area at the far end. There was some tube that Adrien couldn't see the content of. Behind everything was a giant symbol that looked like a flower, but the young Agreste couldn't shake the feeling it reminded him of something more malicious.
They stepped off the platform and Gabriel walked to the tube on the far end without saying a word. Adrien just followed him. It was not possible for the two of them to walk side by side so he only saw the tube again once they got to the platform. What was inside froze his blood.
Inside laid Emilie Agreste, his mother.
"F-Father...?" His voice was almost just a whisper. "Wh-What is all of this?"
"Your mother is very ill my son. This stasis chamber is the only thing keeping her alive."
"Why isn't she in hospital? Everyone believes she died." Adrien was still shaken by this. He had no idea what to think. He did not pay slightest attention to small flock of white butterflies on the edges of this green island.
"No hospital on earth could possibly help her. Only a miracle could save her. Or a wish."
The meaning behind last word hit Adrien with the speed of rushing train. The silence that fell after was so loud that he could hear the flapping of butterfly wings.
"N-No... That can't be... You... But she... We... I... She... Ladybug... Mother... Father... My lady..." Adrien started babbling incomprehensibly. His father watched his son's eyes jump between the stasis pod, himself, the ring on his finger and the window behind them. Gabriel walked to his son and gently placed a hand on boy's shoulder.
"Adrien. Listen to me. I know you are confused, but everything I do is to unite our family. I am sorry I didn't tell you before. You were still young when this happened and I didn't want to burden you. But I can no longer see you so secluded. Suffering from the ignorance. I don't want you in anymore danger. Help me son. I don't think I can do this without you. I want to see our family together." As Gabriel spoke to his son, the expression on boy's face changed. It was that of acceptance. Older man had to hold the urge to grin. It was all coming together. They would finally be one, happy family together.
"But... My Lady..." Adrien was still torn between his loyalties.
"What are you talking about?!" Father was losing patience.
"Ladybug. My Lady. She..." the boy started and Gabriel finally caught the flow. All the dots connected. He had to improvise. It could be all or nothing.
"And what did she for you my son? She doesn't care about you. In neither forms. Not really. What does Ladybug really know about you?"
Adrien grasped. Only now he realized that he revealed himself before his supposedly worst enemy. But it didn't matter. His father was right. Ladybug didn't care about him. She chose someone else and abandoned him. He didn't owe her anything. But he did owe his mother everything. He pulled off the silver ring from his finger and closed his fist around it.
"Plagg. I renounce you!" There was a sudden black zoom and the ring changed to black color with paw symbol on it. Adrien then offered the ring to his father.
"Here. If it helps bring mother back... take it." There was complete resignation in his voice. Adrien gave up.
Something in Gabriel's cold heart actually felt some guilt. He didn't want to break Adrien to bring Emilie back. Instead of taking the ring he closed boy's hand around it, cupping it in his own. "No son. I told you I can't do this alone. I want... I need your help. We can bring your mother back together."
"Thank you father. Your trust means the world for me."

DustCherry ?
Odd idea I’ll never fully flesh out. Have a cohesive scene. Only set up, we’re in an AU where Red is both the eldest prince of Fellsword kingdom under Gaster and Forge, the blacksmith who runs a criminal bar and supplies weapons for the rebellion. Dust is Dust kinda.
Words: 1.7k
“Heya Forgey.” Dust winked from behind the helmet. Red rolled his eyes and finished cleaning the glasses from the bar.
“Whatcha need Dust? You ran out of pieces to request. Already made all the armor you could need, all three of your weapons. “Red slid the glasses into the cabinet. “I doubt you’d greet me before killing me.”
“I’d totally greet you before killing you. I consider us friends.” Dust’s pointy grin, teasingly flipping a dagger in one hand. “But no, I don’t want to kill you. Quite the opposite really.” He snaked out a purple tongue to lick along the dagger’s edge. Red’s soul pounded in his chest, Dust’s eyes going half lidded, all sultry and wanton.
“Are you propositioning me?” Red face flushed. Dust only chuckled at his incomprehension.
“That was the idea.” His eyes shifted from the purple to the more familiar dualtone. “I wanted to have a little fun and you’re the only handsome friend I have.” Red lifted an eyebrow.
“I didn’t think you had many friends.” Red kept cleaning off the bar counter. “Thought assassins didn’t need ‘em.” Dust shrugged.
“Honestly, you’re the only I have as Dust. The rest are from my day job, and those don’t intermingle.” Dust leaned back, casually draping himself over a chair. “It does make you the most handsome by default.” He stuck out his tongue.
“How the fuck do you have a day job? I can’t imagine what you’d be like outside of this.” Dust seemed so well suited for assassin work. Picturing him baling hay, running a shop, baking? Dust laughed.
“I’m capable of behaving. Let me show you.” Suddenly leaned over the counter into Red’s space, Dust trailed a finger under Red’s jaw. Red grabbed his arm, but didn’t wrench it away.
“I’m guessing this comes with conditions. Nothing with you is ever that easy.” Dust licked his teeth at Red’s iron grasp.
“Either I keep the helmet on, or you agree to a temporary blindness spell. Can’t have you seeing my face.” He climbed over the counter, never pulling his arm free. He made a delightful little sigh when Red wrapped the other arm around his back. “I don’t mind you being in charge. I’m flexible.”
“Uh-huh. You just get to see mine then.” Red glared at the horny assassin through the face guard.
“Forgey, I’ve known who you were since Day 1.” He hooked a leg around Red’s waist. “Prince Red Fellsword helping rebels and causing chaos against his father. It doesn’t matter to me. I only care how good you are with your hands.” His free hand flipped up the face shield.
“Dust! Pe-”
“Relax, there’s no one for a mile in any direction. Don’t forget who I am.” He dragged a sharp finger down his throat. “It wouldn’t be wise.”
Red huffed before releasing Dust completely. The assassin waited patiently in his space, still hooked tightly to his pelvis. He weighed his options carefully. This wasn’t a smart thing to do, not by a longshot, not with the most vicious murderer in all the kingdoms. But his soul pulsed at the thought of fucking someone that powerful.
“You get how fucking insane this is, right?” Red glared at the shorter assassin. His smile only got wider, toothier.
“Completely.” Red pinched his nasal ridge, then pulled Dust’s other leg up to fully seat their pelvises together. He snapped his fingers and they landed on Red’s bed down the hall.
“Fuck it, I guess I’m insane.” He removed the armor covering Dust with ease. The belts slipped off, plates clanging to the ground. Dust’s eyes got wider and hungrier. “Blind me whenever.”
“Once I’m down to the helmet.” Dust pulled at Red’s shirt, yanking it over his head and scraping his fingers down the ribs. Red pushed Dust’s tank up to his neck, hands wandering over his chest.
“Didn’t know you were a skeleton like me.” He tended to the bones with practiced ease. He knew how to make Dust scream if he had bones like his. He hadn’t worked the pants fully off, but did squeeze right at the base of Dust’s tailbone. Then after a cursory lick across the collarbone, he bit down. Hard.
“Oh fuuuuuuck! Mark me up Forge.” Dust’s tongue lolled out of his helmet. He raised a hand and snapped. Red’s eyesight blinked out.
There was the sound of metal ringing, and then a tongue in his mouth.
Dust devoured his mouth hungrily. The scent and taste of blood had him frenzied, clinging to Red’s body. When he broke away, Dust was suddenly by his ear.
“Can I taste your blood?” Dust’s body rumbled with a groan. “Your mouth tasted so good with mine in it.” Red felt for and then bit down on Dust’s opposite shoulder. Red made sure to really get a mouthful, licking up the excess before trailing his hand to the back of Dust’s skull to kiss him again. Dust’s entire body shook with desire.
“One bite Dust. Make it count.” Red felt Dust’s hands scrambling to remove both of their pants. He tried to help, but couldn’t do much about Dust’s clothes while blind. Then the shock of a wet tongue right on his pelvis. Dust licked upwards, attempting to force the shape.
“Give me something to suck on.” Red’s body summoned the cock on reflex. Dust lavished attention onto him before pulling the entire cock into his mouth, taking the entire thing deep into his throat in three short bobs.
“I-ahhhhh- I’m not gunna last if you keep going at it like that.” Red didn’t hear a reply, per se, but he did hear some very enthusiastic hums around his cock. Dust’s tongue wrapped around him, stroking and tightening around the base as the head dipped further and further back into his throat. Red couldn’t see but he did feel the drool dripping out of Dust’s mouth onto his pelvis, could feel him holding onto his hips softly, coaxing him on with light circles, heard the moans increasing in pitch the faster he went. And if he listened in real closely, some very wet fingers playing with an equally wet pussy…
Red came right into Dust’s throat. And judging on the choking sounds and jolting around, he came right on his fingers.
When Dust let the cock out of his mouth, Red smelled something sweet by his face.
“Just getting nice and wet for you. Wan-oooooh…”Red had already stuck his tongue out for a taste. He guided the fingers into his mouth with one hand, and slipped the other right into Dust. He got in three fingers on the first try.
“I’m still sensitive, haaaaaaaaaaah, so cruel of you.” Red could feel Dust writhe against him, around his fingers. His skull laid against his shoulder, mouth open with whining pants, before it turned and bit down with those sharp canines. Red only tensed; he remained silent. Dust suckled at the bite, tightening with each draw of blood. He let go before Red got woozy.
“Reeeeeeeeed.” Dust’s voice took on his bloodlust form. Part of Red was worried. He flexed his fingers still buried deep in his cunt. “AHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”
Red pulled out his fingers, and gently flipped them over. It took a little feeling around, but he definitely got settled between Dust’s legs. He felt up those long bones, nipping along them, cleaning off his fingers before switching to the other femur. Dust sighed softly when Red finally lined them up.
“I’d kill to see the faces you’ve been making, but I guess I’ll live with just having you.” Red chuckled, pulling the legs up over his shoulders, kissing his shins. He pushed in with a guiding hand. “Oh fuck, you’re still tight?” Red groaned.
“You’re -Mmmmmmm- the only one-,” Dust moaned at the first thrust, still coming down from the blood high, “-whose fucked me.”
“Well you’re not a virgin either.” Red fucked Dust steadily. His pussy was still tight around him, not nearly loose enough to really let go and pound the hell out of Dust without making it uncomfortable. Dust panted and laughed.
“I’m. Usually. The one. Doing the fucking!” Dust whined as Red finally started to speed up, his body relaxing into the hard thrusts, begging for more. Red hadn’t planned the pace, he just couldn’t hold back anymore.
Dust fucked people, he did not let people fuck him. But here he was, letting Red take him. He offered himself without a thought, Red hadn’t even needed to negotiate.
“Then I’ll make you scream.” Red slightly changed angles until Dust’s voice escalated to pitchy moans of pure bliss. He relentlessly pushed them both further and further along, getting to really savor the moment after that first fast orgasm. Dust clawed up towards up, pulling himself off the bed to hit even deeper.
“AHHHHH!” Dust wailed, spasming around Red’s cock until he spilled into him.
They rode out their peaks in peace, finally separating when the sensations of touching overwhelmed them. Red laid back in his bed, fully expecting the absence of another body beside him.
“Don’t think this gets you a discount.” Red joked. He didn’t want to let this into his soul; loving Dust would lead to nothing but heartache.
“Of course not.” Dust chuckled, the subtle ringing of metal as Dust got dressed to go vibrating around the room. “Don’t think this grants you immunity.”
“Never.” Red stretched out his limbs, getting ready to relax. “As long as we understand each other, repeat performance is on the table if you want it.” He heard Dust’s shadow magic swallow his presence, already slinking off to the next target. But not before a whisper by his ear.
“I’ll keep it in mind.” He could hear the smirk in it, and with a snap, his eyelights came back to an empty room. He grinned before turning in.
Deep in the shadows, Dust shivered. Red’s magic was still leaking down his thighs, knees shaking. Keep it in mind? More like restrain the impulse to come here every night. He wanted the blacksmith bad before, and the fire in his soul was stoked by the night they shared.
Forge would be his, one way or another.

The Tattoos of Fate
Tattoo Soulmate AU where your and your soulmate's spirit animals are on your skin. Yours moves freely across your skin with your soulmate's will be stuck in one place before you start getting close to your soulmate. Then, it will move to your fingers and guide you. Once you've met, both creatures will move freely.
Oneshot, might do a follow up if y'all want
Maribat, @ozmav the great's ship
Marinette had interesting soulmate tattoos. Normally, people would have creatures that complimented each other or were the same species.
She had a ladybug. It would crawl were it pleased, mostly hiding out of sight, as if it were shy. Its favorite place was her shoulder. It was an interesting little bug.
Now, her soulmate's, however, was strange. It was a robin. It was all splayed out and frozen on the back of her hand. It's head was turned so that an eye was always looking at her. It was unnerving.
What was also unnerving was how their spirit animals were predator and prey.
Marinette had long since gotten over it, only finding the position of the robin the strange thing.
She was eleven, in the middle of class when her heart felt like it shattered into pieces and the robin contorted painfully. It wasn't fair how while she felt like she was dying that her skin tickled as her ladybug scrambled to her hand.
It wasn't fair that her ladybug got to mourn her robin when all Marinette got was getting sent home.
Marinette was quiet as she watched the robin slowly splay back out, but the eye was closed now.
Marinette was traumatized as she watched it fade over the next week.
Her soulmate was dead.
Chloe was there. Chloe was nice enough to not bring up soulmates even though she knew it was a button. Chloe was nice enough to give Marinette a sense of normalcy while everyone gave her pitying looks.
Depressing, wasn't it? Your bully is what you hope others give you.
----
Marinette was thirteen. She had just finished Stoneheart and had landed back in school. She wore gloves because she was tired of the stares.
She was breathless as she walked back to class. Her dominant hand itched so heavily. She felt her ladybug tickle her as it scrambled down her arm.
Marinette was scared to peel her glove off. But she couldn't breathe and her hand was burning-
Marinette had only just pulled the glove off of her hand as she passed through her classroom door. She collapsed on the floor right there as she watched the ink spill back into the robin.
Tears threatened her eyes as she watched the ladybug poke the robin for the first time in two years. The robin shifted comfortably before opening its visible eye.
Marinette was an incomprehensible mess as she bawled in the front of her entire class on the second day of the school year.
---
Marinette accepts the umbrella, but returns it the day after, crush free. She has a soulmate. Back from the dead, sure, but she decides to stomp any feelings for anyone. Besides, she sees the snake coiled around his wrist and decides to stay away.
She keeps the gloves, mainly because it's a habit now. Partly because she's scared to look at it and see it pale again.
Ladybug doesn't humour Chat Noir's flirting, not when she's seen a few jellyfish strings poke out from under his collar. He's not her soulmate, no matter his persistence.
It's a professional relationship that she's happy to have fun with- if her partner wouldn't see it as her leading him on.
She sours quickly when he pouts. She sneers when she learns that he threatened giving up his Miraculous because she wasn't handing out her very limited knowledge. She demands for a new test. A proper test, when she learns how pathetic his test was. She demands proper tests for both of them when she realizes how dumb hers was too.
She passes it with flying colors.
Chat Noir hardly noticed and was ignorant unless it was an immediate issue.
Chat Noir disappears and a blond bee comes in. The two thrive on each other. Their insect spirit animals like to say hello and hang out on their ears when nearby. The two joke that it's a sign that they were meant to be platonic soulmates.
A year passes and Marinette celebrates the anniversary of her soulmate being alive alone.
Lila.
The girl had lied and lied and Adrien thought that Marinette had a crush on him and thought that he could use it to make her quiet. Marinette, ever a people pleaser, had stayed quiet for a little bit. But that only gave Lila time to sink her teeth in and for Adrien to be swayed.
Lila had crowed about meeting her soulmate but his animal was so shy that she couldn't show them. So she showed off her cobra instead.
Marinette remembers vividly watching Adrien grasp his wrist, where a snake once was. Where mass amounts of bracelets now covered the area.
Marinette remembers vividly Lila asking about other's soulmates- courtesy, of course. Lila would never intentionally draw attention away from herself.
Chloe hadn't meet hers yet, but she had a honey bee that moved from finger to finger and a bore bee that represented her.
Sabrina had a pretty King Charles that happily poked its head out before going back to sleep on her abdomen. A cat slinked across her arms and she refused to say who.
Alix and Kim shared the monkey and rabbit, but they already swore to each other that their bond was platonic, a congratulated choice.
Nathanial revealed his rooster and the hen on his hands, pecking at a certain finger. He was always afraid of meeting his soulmate, but he didn't say that to them.
Juleka and Rose happily showed off their tiger and pig. They always seemed fit for each other.
Mylene and Ivan revealed the ox and mouse, and for once Ivan let others kid about his size and his spirit animal.
Nino and Alya revealed their raven and turtle. They never noticed movement until Ladybug had shoved them together that they noticed their animals gravitate towards the other.
The attention turned to Marinette. The eyes found her gloves. Everyone knew something happened with her soulmate, but only Chloe remembered the first time Marinette broke because of them. Only Chloe remembered that Marinette's soulmate already died.
"Oh, Marinette! You should've said something! I didn't want you to be… Ah… Uncomfortable," Lila blinked innocently. "If you don't mind, though…"
"Oh, shut up!" Chloe rolled her eyes. "Marinette's soulmate died, don't be so utterly, ridiculously, insensitive."
"Chloe!" Alya scathingly gasped.
"No, it's alright," Marinette sighed. "I don't know what's happening, but my soulmate did die, back when I was eleven. But for some reason-" she took off the glove, "the robin came back at the beginning of the school year."
Lila blinked a few times before cocking an eyebrow. "Marinette…" she began softly, as if she was talking to a baby, "people don't come back from the dead."
And that made everyone think the gloves and the breakdown and any moment she had about losing her gloves, they thought it was so she could have attention and pity.
Marinette could very well prove that her robin had been pale. Dead. But Lila would find a way. So she dropped it with a last retort.
"Who in their right mind would fake the death of their soulmate?"
It made some waver in their rage, but most forgot. Not Chloe. Not the girl who had seen the darkest day of Marinette's life. Not the girl who happily tore down the girl who had everything and had backed off majorly after that day.
But Marinette was alone today. So she kissed her robin and took him around Paris as if the robin hadn't already been exposed to most of the city while she was Ladybug.
------
Chloe was the only thing Marinette could consider a friend the next school year. Both lost their best friends and acted too late. So they turned to each other.
The visit to Gotham only pulled them closer. Chloe was a loud complainer, giving the late Marinette time to rush to the group. Chloe had issues with being late and normally woke up an hour early and forced Marinette to wake up and get ready with her. Any lateness on her part was due to not finding her items in the storm that is Chloe.
The visit to Gotham got her robin to flutter and explore her fingers. The visit to Wayne Enterprises set her robin fluttering everywhere. Chloe was the one to notice.
They had stopped for a moment, watching as the robin paused and settled on her dominant hand's rightmost finger. Pointing away from the group.
Dick Grayson saw the robin and ladybug under her collar. He knew. But he couldn't interrupt without an emergency, so he painfully called them back over.
The girls reluctantly followed.
A free day had been given to them and the two had gone off to a fabric store so that Marinette could make varsity jackets. Chloe, of course, spent forever helping Marinette pick out fabric for hers.
They left at the darker hours. Marinette's robin was hopping on her hand until she rose it, there it tried flying straight up on her middle finger. There, she saw figures jumping across the street from the rooftops.
Chloe wanted her to follow. Marinette wanted to go the hotel before anything happened to them.
...When your friend is stubborn, don’t give them a chance to do as they please. Do what Marinette did not do, and drag them home. Don’t do what Marinette did, and get dragged along.
Because you would be saved of the fate of being circled by three thugs and no place to run.
----
Damian never knew he had a soulmate mark. He knew he had a robin that represented him, but he never saw the other creature. So he got acquainted with the cheery robin. It liked to rest on his hand or his shoulder and puff its chest out.
It wasn't until after he died and came back and was changing with Dick that he found where his soulmate's creature had been hiding. It was a little ladybug, hiding between his shoulder blades, on his spine.
He's never seen the ladybug move to guide him to his soulmate.
Until yesterday.
He was bringing in some paperwork that Tim had forgotten. Tim had raised an eyebrow at his hands before thanking him and turning away. Confused, Damian checked his hands once he was out of sight. Lo and behold, the ladybug was pushing on his leftmost finger. It… tickled, compared to the robin's feeling of cold air.
His soulmate was nearby. Was he ready to meet them? Was he prepared to meet them?
Damian had turned away, a weed of an emotion picking at his head.
Later, during patrol, he felt the ladybug moving this time. He felt its frantic pushing. Growling, he decided he'd at least look at them, if it'll ease the stupid ladybug.
He was glad he did, when he saw two girls surrounded by petty criminals. He dropped down in for combat at the same time the noirette shot a hand out to the nearest man's throat while pushing the blonde and all their items behind her.
He quickly jumped into battle, pulling one away so that the girl could handle a one on one situation rather than a two on one. Finished, he turned to notice the noirette digging through her bag while the blonde was pulling a rope out.
"What are you doing?" He asked, genuinely curious.
Three blonde looked to the noirette before turning back to one of the unconscious men.
"Sorry," the noirette giggled nervously. "We're used to having to deal with… criminals and tying them up and leaving them." French. Huh, he wondered what city that was.
"That's… Interesting. I can take them to the police. Where were you two headed?" Robin asks, popping out handcuffs from one of her utility belt's pockets.
The noirette gave a hotel's name.
"French tourists?" He asks once he had called Batman about the thugs.
"Yes," the noirette nodded. "I'm Marinette, this is Chloe. She can only say yes and no." She giggled and Chloe rattled in French about how she shouldn't be talking bad about her.
"I think tonight has demonstrated how Gotham isn't safe at night. Once the police have come, would you mind if I walked you back to your hotel?" He smirked. "I don't want to have to save you both again."
That got a chuckle out of Marinette and she repeated what he had said to Chloe. She was… Easy. Comforting. Was this his soulmate? He didn't dare take his glove off right now, so instead he looked at her. He saw the robin on her hand, comfortably tucking its head into its wing.
His face softened. Marinette.

Marinette didn't notice the Robin having free will until she and Chloe were back in their hotel room. Chloe noticed first before happily crowing about his fitting it was that she ended up with a hero.
Marinette didn't know how to feel about it. How quaint, a hero and a hero. But she didn't know if she could approach Robin again about the marks. She didn't even know if she could find Robin again without becoming Ladybug. Could she even ask him for his identity? God, this was messed up.
Marinette fell asleep watching the ladybug and robin happily play with each other.

Failed-Night Stand
Midoriya Izuku X Reader
Summary: A one night stand with a handsome stranger that doesn’t really end up being a one night stand.
WARNINGS!: Has some spicy mentions, ages 14+ !
Category: Fluff
Word Count: 3.5k+
Just to Clarify:
(B/F/N) = best friend name
(Agency) = the hero agency, you get to choose because I can’t.
This is an adult!au, where everyone has graduated UA years ago
───── ⋆✩⋆ ─────
A deep inhale cuts through the muffled city-morning sounds of birds chirping and cars honking, tired eyelids slowly fluttered open to reveal a room not at all yours. Light filtered in through the large, pristine window.
You slowly sat in a bed mind-blowingly comfortable, taking in the unfamiliar space. Nope. Definitely not yours. That was easy enough to tell, especially considering your room wasn’t light blue, nor were there walls lined with All Might figurines and assorted medals and trophies.
Confusion momentarily sat in your system, the haze of sleep still residing in your mind gradually dissipated as tiny gears shifted into motion.
Oh dear.
Groaning, you let your sitting form fall back against the bed with a soft thwump, letting your eyes slip back shut. It was pretty easy to tell what had happened last night, if your lack of clothes and the stale stench of sweat clinging to your body had anything to say about it.
An alcohol-induced one night stand.
With who? You couldn’t quite remember, despite the fact that the soreness in your throat came from screaming his name at some point in the night. It was impossible to even remember what took place, the last thing that you could recall happening was passionately kissing plump lips as large, warm hands traveled down exposed arms. One thing that you did remember, though, were his looks paired with an adorable personality. No doubt were they part of the reason you were here in the first place.
Judging from the lack of a person in bed and empty open bathroom connected with the room, he either left or was somewhere else in this apartment. You prayed for the first, not wanting to have another awkward encounter with someone you slept with the night before.
With a hum, you rolled out of bed, shakily getting to your feet. By god did it hurt to even stand, just how big and rough was this guy? He seemed like such a sweetheart.. Then again, most people lose themselves in the heat of the moment. It was quite flattering, really.
As you stumbled about the room, picking up and putting on the undergarments you wore last night, memories slowly came into your mind. Alcohol was such a funky thing, only allowing you to remember certain things off the get go and wait for more to trickle in or figure others out.
Luckily, or what seemed to be lucky anyway, the first was occurring.
───── ⋆✩⋆ ─────
The beat of drums pounded in your ears as you slurped at a cocktail, cringing at the almost addicting burn. Another Friday out late at a bar, drinking to soothe emotional cuts and bruises that manifested over the course of a particularly rough work week.
It’s always fun working late because your boss in an incompetent dick-wad.
Working in a hero agency is mostly everyone’s dream, but god were there always mountains of work and unreasonable deadlines.
The desire to drink and relax with friends overthrew your weak sense of judgement, knowing it’d be better to have just stayed home with your beloved cat than go out and potentially get a migraine from the music that was too damn loud.
Luckily this night didn’t turn into what they usually did, no guys have tried to get into your pants yet, more than likely from the choice to dress cozy and not sleazy. Who wants a tight fitting dress when you could have a comfy sweater?
“You’ll n-ever believe who I met toooodaayyy~” (B/F/N), who was a horrific lightweight, slurred with that goofy drunken smile that always brought a laugh out of you. It was just too funny, childish glee radiating from them whenever their conscious got seized by the devil's drink.
“Who?” chuckled Katsumi, someone you had met in college and gotten along well enough with to become friends and welcome into your pair, officially making it a group. Pretty sad how small it was. Perhaps you were all too picky with potential friends, who were you to complain though? It’s better being close to a select few then have an army of people you barely know, right?
(B/F/N)’s sweaty arm slithered behind your neck, bringing you closer to them as if to grasp onto their last bit of sanity before turning into an incomprehensible child to spew out their story.
“Ground~ Zerooo~! Can you believe it..? He’s soooo cut-e~”
“Yeah right!” Katsumi snorted, sipping at a fruity drink, something he was never afraid to order.
“I did..! Don’t you believe me, (Y/N)!”
Playfully, you tapped your chin with a finger, “Hmmm..”
The whine that you pulled from them was worth the act.
“I did! I did!” (B/F/N) felt the need to chant, arms raised high and face scrunched up in frustration. “Sure.”
“He smacked my ass!” They pouted,
Katsumi and you both shrieked with laughter, eyes watering from the no doubt large ass lie. My, how serious they looked too!
As if they’d ever meet a rising pro hero, the chances were too slim to even consider it. More than likely it was a weird dream they had but fought against it to make it seem real. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Couldn’t blame ‘em.
Going to take another sip of your drink, desperate to cool down your overheated body from the heat drifting off everyone and mixing into one big shit show, disappointment flooded your being to find it empty, nothing but melting ice left in the glass.
“I’m going to get another drink.” After getting a reluctant understanding nod from your friends, you stood up, waddling to the bar and plopping down on one of the highly used bar stools.
Surprisingly, it was cooler over here, no doubt from the many freezers resting near the bar to hold wine coolers, beer, and other assortment of drinks people liked to be cold. Ice could only do so much, especially when it melts faster than Olaf in front of that fire. Typically they lasted longer, but maybe time flew by without your comprehension of it doing so, causing the ice to melt faster than expected. It wasn’t fully melted, you’d give it that.
But that wasn’t to say it was all that pleasant, drunk off their mind young adults littered the other stools, shamelessly making out.
You huffed, unable to be one to talk on the account that you’ve personally been there before, much to your horror.
“What can I get you, (Y/N)?” Yokuto, the kind owner and barista of the bar in his mid fifties questioned, a small smile on his face at seeing one of his favorite customers. Has he mentioned that before? No. Did you believe it because you were somewhat narcissistic when tipsy? Yes.
“Mm..” Humming, (E/C) eyes looked over the large menu, “let’s go for an old fashioned.” A classic drink, good for giving you that delicious buzz without knocking you on your ass. Well, depending on how many you have that is. Hopefully that bite to eat before drinking tonight will do you a good service.
“Ah, look at you. Adventurous tonight, are we?” Yo teased, all too used to preparing you basic drinks.
“Shhshshshs.” You hushed him, not needing to go through the same conversation once a month despite it being one of the highlights of the night. Tonight would be relaxing, spent with your friends, boy were you determined to make that happ-
“Put it on my tab.” A man with a sweet yet deep voice interjected. Ah shit. Here we go.
You rubbed your temples, sighing. Of course this would happen when you didn’t want it to, that’s how it always works right? Can’t get laid when you want to, but suddenly everyone wants you the moment you’re not interested. ‘No. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.. Maybe.. He’s just being nice!’ Your mind decided, internally desperate to be left alone.
“Very well, sir!” Chirped Yo. The fucker. I mean, at least you get a free drink?
That was always a plus, especially considering your student loans often times left very little money to buy such expensive drinks. Typically old fashions weren’t expensive, but it always depended on the bar you went to. Either way, ten bucks seemed over priced. Because of this, t’s like this man was a godsend, because no doubt this drink would’ve been the last your budget could’ve allowed.
Turning, you were just about to offer a ‘thank you’ before your voice caught in a dry throat. My, my, my, a godsend indeed, in more ways than one. This man was absolutely gorgeous!
Disco lights reflected off his shimmering emerald irises, soft looking curly green hair bouncing as he took a seat beside you. Lord, did you just want to touch it. Surely he was making big bucks, that much you could tell from his appearance alone. A suit too pristine and finely fitted to him to be bought from any old plain store, a watch large and complicated to match. His face was gorgeously sculpted, but still somehow managed to have chubby cheeks leftover from childhood, skin clearer than a piece of paper. Not only that, but those faded freckles dusting his cheeks were the cutest thing imaginable, his smile--- his smile? Why was he smiling? Not that it mattered considering angels were singing around it, the golden glow of heaven behind his head,
“Hey?” Sound re-entered your ears upon seeing his kissable lips move, ah shit has he been speaking this entire time? And you just zoned out?! Fuckfuckfuck-
“H-hi..” You stuttered, currently too tipsy to feel all too embarrassed about it. “Thank you uh, for the drink..” It was hard to keep such an overactive mind focused on talking and not making yourself look like a fool in front of someone ten times out of your league. Hell, were you even trying to be in his league? A calm night, right? No hullabaloo.
“No problem!!” His eyes shifted around the bar, smile now nervous as a light blush coated his cheeks, “I just.. Uh..”
It was almost impossible not to coo at the adorable sight in front of you.
He glanced back, your gaze following his own to a group sat at a table meters away, all holding men giving him a thumbs up. Now just what was that about?
Without giving it too much thought, you grabbed your drink and took a sip, patiently waiting for the mystery man to finish his thought.
“You’re just.. Really cute.. And I um.. Wanted to get to know you a bit..?” He stuttered out, gnawing on his plump bottom lip, the bastard. How dare he say and do something so enticing? Clearly without meaning to as well. Or perhaps this was his tactic all along, not that you were entirely beginning to mind.
Besides, he did buy you a drink, what’s the harm in chatting for a bit?
───── ⋆✩⋆ ─────
Funny how chatting led you to a handsome man's apartment and unable to remember parts of the night. Were you complaining? Absolutely not. It was easy to admit that last night certainly helped bring your week to a nice ending, but the intense ache between your legs almost wasn’t worth it.
It was just then that the appetizing smell of bacon wafted under the bedroom door, or perhaps it was always there but you were too caught up in your own world to realize it. Regardless, your mouth watered, tummy rumbling from lack of food, but surely it wasn’t for you.
It was funny how he was still here, though you should expect as much since this was his place and it was a Saturday.
Perhaps once you find your purse, you could grab breakfast at a Denny’s or something..
A shriek followed by violent coughing tore through your throat as the door suddenly opened, the savory smell of breakfast food hitting you full force.
Not allowing yourself the time to look at him, you turned around, “Ah s-sorry.. I’ll be out of your hair in a minute..”
Gah. He must be pissed that you’re still here. Forgetting about sulking, you took a step towards your discarded sweater, violently cringing at the awkward angle and pain. By no means were you a virgin, so the only way this could have happened was if the guy was absolutely humongous and rough as shit. Not like your lust-filled self would’ve minded.
“Wait wait! Ah, sit down! You’re in pain!”
“Wha?” The clang of a tray being set down and dishes rattling echoed in the room as you were suddenly pushed back onto the bed.
“Wh-what are you-?!” You were shushed as a glass of water pressed against your dry lips,
“Here, drink this. It’s water!”
Your eyebrows furrowed, eyes absentmindedly trailing up muscular arms all the way to his worried face.
This all seemed a bit too suspicious, never having been treated so kindly after a one night stand. Well, so far ‘kindly’ was a bit of a stretch but at least you now had something to finally moisten your screaming throat.
Eagerly wrapping a hand around the cold glass, you chugged like your life depended on it, which it probably did considering how dehydrated you felt.
It was almost as if the water cleared your head more, for memories hit you like a freight train. Nervous touches, untrained yet gentle hands, sweet moans filtering through your ear, the pure ecstasy of last night. Your face flushed, teeth grinding slightly as you fought off the memories to actually look as professional as you could, as you were currently only in your undies.
“I. um.. I figured you would need some since you were..ah..”
Amusement flooded your being watching him suddenly turn red, his eyes trailing over your barely clothed body before whipping away to the other wall. What a gentleman. At least you remembered his name now, on the account of praising it last night. Midoriya Izuku. Cute.
Gulping down the last sip of water, you were dead set on teasing him, curious to see what reaction you’d get. Even though now and before he seemed like a shy baby, which he probably is, you remembered clearly how dominating and hot he was. “Screaming and moaning like a bitch in heat?”
“Gahh!” He shoved his red face in a pillow he grabbed, incoherent mumbling escaping the crevices of it.
Oh how precious he is. It was unusual to see an adult act this way, but it certainly was welcomed with open arms.
His head shot up, realization crossing his features. “Ah! You’re in pain right? I’m really sorry..” Guilt sunk in his shimmering mesmerizing eyes, sunlight bouncing off them from the open curtain adjacent to the bed. “I was.. I lost myself last night and was a bit too.. rough with you. I’m sorry. Really, I am..”
He was apologizing..? This was new, but it sure did feel nice.
Just as you were about to speak, he picked up the tray beside him on the floor and plopped it into your lap.
“I uh! I made you breakfast-! The pill is a standard ibuprofen for the pain.”
It was as if his voice was made of honey from how sweet and smooth it was, the pure innocence of it wrapping around your body in a warm blanket.
How refreshing it was, but..
A teasing smile made its way to your lips,
“You’re new to this whole one night stand thing, aren’t you?”
His mouth opened and closed like a fish, the flustered man clearly trying to form a sentence in his head.
“I-I- I.. N-no um..”
Humming, you took the pill, washing it down with water before you cut off a piece of pancake, tugging it off the fork and into your mouth and almost moaning at the flavor.
Sighing in defeat, he pouted up at you, “How can you tell..?”
You licked your lips slowly, marveling at the way his eyes followed its movement, “One night stands don’t usually involve breakfast in bed.”
“Well.”
He stood up, moving to sit next to you, awkwardly patting his thighs as you munched on a piece of crispy bacon. “I was kind of hoping this wouldn’t just be a one night stand.”
Confusion contorted your face, “You want another round? I wouldn’t be opposed-”
“No!” He interjected hands waving frantically as his face burned a vibrant vermillion.
“I meant like..! Like me taking you out on a proper date or something..! I.. I don’t want this just to end..”
“What do you mean?”
“I like you.”
“...huh?”
He scratched at the back of his neck, praying to every god out there that he didn’t sound like a major creep. He wasn’t! You both just so happened to work in the same building, and his eyes just always naturally pick you out in a crowd, sometimes drifting to you when in the same room or passing by. Granted, he’s in his hero costume then where his secret identity is sealed from the public. It sure would be nice to tell you who he truly was, but he couldn’t let his cover be blown. Even if he did like you, trust was something no longer so easily gained after having the career he did. He’s seen what happened to people like Shoto and Tenya, he had no intention of having ever part of his personal life blown up like theirs. And so, he would stay hidden behind a green and silver mask.
The dilemma at hand, though, was telling you of his affections without seeming like a creep they’ve never seen before, which he probably would anyway considering you had no idea he was Deku.
It was actually a pretty lucky thing he had no merchandise of himself, in his home out in plain view that would give himself away. True, he had no idea he’d be lucky enough to take you home, but he couldn’t help but feel bad about it. You both had been drinking, and before he knew it, you were beneath him in his bed.
He was a lucky man to have been able to get you there in the first place, but you seemed interested enough in him. Truthfully, he was scared you’d immediately leave upon waking up, wanting nothing to do with him like he’s always heard from his friends and their one night stand experiences. It was nice that you actually stayed and ate the breakfast he spent far too long on.
Here goes nothing.
“I’ve actually noticed you around work for a while now. You’re so reliable and kind to your co-workers, always the goofball cracking jokes to pass time.. Last night, my friends encouraged me to finally talk to you.”
Wait! He sounded like a total stalker just now didn’t he! Gah! You look like you think he’s a creep! Fuck! He probably is isn’t he! No! He isn’t- oh no,,
“N-not that I’m stalking you I swear! We just happened to be at the same bar at the same time..! I had no idea it would lead to this..”
What a word vomit. It was endearing, really. You couldn’t help but giggle, he was just so cute.
The giggling only made him blush harder, hands quickly going down to grasp at the hem of his shirt, a nervous habit he picked up somewhere along the line.
“It’s okay~” You sang, immensely happy to know someone actually likes you and desperate to calm him down a bit, despite having no idea who this handsome stranger was. By god wait that sounded kind of creepy.
It’s not like you needed to know a stranger well to sleep with them, but it sure did peak your interests to know he was a fellow co-worker at a hero agency.
“Thank you for the food, by the way.” You took another bite of fluffy pancakes, turning to look at him again, “So you work at (Agency)’s too? I’ve never seen you around before.”
You always had a knack for noticing almost everyone, and you pride yourself on knowing the majority of people considering you’ve been working there for three years now. It was strange, surely you’d notice such a strong stud.
Wait.
“Oh! You’re a hero, aren’t you? Those scars and muscles, paired with the fact that I've never seen you before, you must be?”
Shock slapped his face. Bingo.
“Heh. I knew it!”
That victorious smile that graced your lips immediately died off once you noticed him clearly internally freak out. He looked like he was about to pass out, eyes wide and pupils shrunk, mouth shakily trying to speak.
This certainly wasn’t how you wanted this to play out, but beggars can’t be choosers?
“H-hey calm down..! I don’t know who your hero persona is, if that helps!”
Geeze, you pulled yourself into a mess, didn't you?
Lips pulled into a worried straight line as you tried to calm him down by rubbing his shoulder.
“Oh! Ok, good! Ah..” He breathed a sigh of relief out his nose, chuckling bashfully, “That’s a relief.. I don’t think you’d be even the slightest bit interested in me if you knew the other guy first.”
It was hard to tell if this meant he had a completely different personality when in the suit, or if he just all around dislikes his normal self. Honestly, it doesn’t sound like it would at all be the first option. It wasn’t uncommon for heroes to prefer being their hero-sona rather than, well, them. ‘Confidence comes from the ability to impress and protect people!’ You recalled one hero exclaiming on the screen when that topic popped up late one night on a talk show interview.
It was sad to see such great people felt that way.
“Well. I don’t need the other guy. I’d like to get to know you better, if that’s possible, Midoriya.”
His face instantly brightened, that beautiful smile from last night resurfacing, the light from that window making it look like a halo formed around his head. Which wouldn’t be too weird considering he was practically an angel already.
“R-Really?!” He excitedly asked, sparkles dancing in his eyes at the implications.
“Yes-”
“Then how about I take you on a date today then!! I know this really great restaurant and they sell these cheesy biscuits..!”
You would’ve gotten whiplash if you hadn’t already been expecting this. You smiled sweetly at him.
“I’d love that.”
Thus started your relationship with Izuku, unknowingly the bright pro her, Deku.
“But uh.. Can I get changed now..? And I need to call my friends-”
“Ah! Right! Yes, of course! Sorry-”
