I don't want to be treated like a fragile helpless baby, I want to be treated like a little one just learning things for the first time
I want to get the level of praise and encouragement that little kids get that nobody gives you as an adult
"Great job! You did so well with this."
"I know you're scared but I'll be right here with you."
"It's alright, everybody makes mistakes, you can always try again."
"Even if you fail, I'll still love you."
"It's tough learning new things, isn't it? Nobody gets it right first time, don't be discouraged."
"You did your best and I'm so proud of you."
Edit: you know what, I didn't actually think as many of you were going to relate to this, but since this is getting notes:
I'm proud of you. I think you're doing great.
You don't need to compare yourself to others. I like you just the way you are.
I know you feel alienated sometimes, but I promise, you're always welcome here.
Yes, you've made mistakes. I've made them too! I still like you and so does everyone else!
Life is tough, but not all of us are. It's alright to be soft. Stay soft.
You will be just fine. We all will be just fine in the end.

WIP WEDNESDAY
got tagged by the lovely @d-esmond and @lilywatt to share the latest WIP i'm currently working on, thank you so much!!!!
gonna tag (taglist to opt in/out for future content if you want!):
@shellibisshe, @viktorgf, @ghostfvcker, @roofgeese, @queennymeria, @florbelles, @jackiesarch, @risingsh0t, @countessrooster, @lucky-107, @unholymilf, @cryptcombat, @cptcassian, @thedeadthree, @carrionsflower, @frankwoods, @imogenkol, @shadowglens, @sigmatiqvevo
this is a little draft exploring Isa's state in very early act 2?, featuring @auricfog's Leonie 🫶
It's a quiet, uneventful night at the Lighthouse. The team, exhausted after a long day and full after a warm, welcoming dinner, had already said their goodnights to each other and retreated to their quarters. Only a few souls lingered in the dining room, engaged in conversation, sleep availing them.
Lucanis was writing a new entry in his logbook, creating a schedule for the following day, when he overheard a familiar Nevarran accent speak up, muffled by the barrier of the door.
"—I'm worried about her." Leonie. Unlike her, she was still awake at this hour.
Bellara's voice was expected. "Isadora? Did something happen?" That certainly got the assassin's attention. The mage in question did not seem to be any different than usual, smiling and sharing light jabs with the rest of them (which had a soothing effect on him, unfortunately).
"Not tonight, no. In general, I mean..."
"Go on." Neve was also another expected participant.
There was a slight pause. Lucanis assumed Leonie breathed out a sigh, possibly staring at the fireplace, looking for the right words. Most likely rubbing her palms.
"Ever since we were little, she was always surrounded by people, but never... Involved in the conversation, you know?"
"What do you mean? As far as I remember, she seems to be the liveliest around, I see her hanging out with everyone!" Bellara, too kind for her own good.
"Yeah, but that's the problem. Growing up the youngest and in a family like her own, it had its effects."
Lucanis felt Spite's whisper echoing in his mind.
She smells like cinnamon.
Neve hummed in contemplation. "She was the only mage, right? And with three older brothers?"
"That's right. I don't recall the majority of what happened from that lifetime, before the Circle, but where I'm trying to get at is the fact that she's very empty."
Their elven companion spoke up, worry lacing her words, "What makes you think so?"
"Her experiences in the South changed her. After the Circles fell and we completed our Harrowings, Isa travelled to continue her education in Orlais. Great academic choice, shittiest land in the world, though."
"But if the Circles were long dissolved—"
"It didn't matter. People still looked at her like she was an anomaly, a ticking time bomb, especially after learning that she was trained by the Mortalitasi, and after everything that happened during the mage-templar war... You can fill in the blanks."
And spices.
"No wonder she's giving every little part of herself to every single person that crosses her path." Neve already had the points connected. "Every gold coin given to the beggars on the streets, every excursion, every conversation, no matter the hour, standing by the Eluvian with barely any sleep, ready to help."
Bellara had also caught onto the stream of thought. "Has she ever done anything just for herself? Taken a day off, disappeared without a trace just to enjoy herself... Anything? Has she given herself anything at all, besides the satisfaction of solving the world's problems?"
And the cold, empty void.
Somewhere, in the bathhouse, Isadora submerges under the water completely, allowing the warmth to claim her.

Hello hello!
I am back to bother you :3
I have one question that is haunting my thoughts.
How did Nightmare decide on the guys as his breakout buddies in Death-Row AU?
I am very curious :3
( hi hi! i wsnt ignoring this, i just got really into laying CotL for a bit, ans whoops-)
Nightmare picked the boys based of a mix of how useful he thought they'd be, along with how easy they would be to manipulate.
Horrors very physically strong, as well as a foreboding presence, he'd be useful for a lot of the actual breakout, good for breaking stuff and beating up the cops, the downside is he can TELL Nightmare's manipulating him, that hes playing with his emotions and trust to use him.
The very easy way to gaining Horrors trust, though? Dust.
Dust, in his more sane moments, can see that Nightmare doesn't have.. the best intention at first, some little things that stick in his mind as odd, but mostly, he brushed them off, assuming its his own flawed mind being paranoid, but also, Nightmare is so NICE to him! He tells him hes smart, he tells him hes useful, that he as a purpose, a place within their group, that hes not... dead air, dust walking, that what he did was okay, he doesn't deserve all this <3 And besides, under all that... mess in his head, he can tell Dust is a smart monster, hes good at fighting, even when restrained, and the amount of magic suppressants on him clues Nightmare into his abnormally deep mana pool quite easily, yes, he thinks, a good one.
and, Dust begins to trust him, and, seeing Dust trust Nightmare, Horror begrudgingly beings to trust him too. besides, he wants out too.
Killer was the easiest to manipulate out of them all, he seems entirely unaware of the manipulation (Killer is aware, hes just so used to being taken advantage of at this point that hes just like whatever) hes so willing to do thing for him for even the smallest drop of praise and affection, that it was so easy to win him over. Besides, Nightmare doesn't doubt Killers usefulness; hes fast, sly and sneaky. Hes a great thief, and can very easily slip thins from the right people pockets, or. slip something *into* their pockets for destruction. Hes good with words, which makes him an excellent distraction for them. Hes perfect. (To note, yes, Killer has trust issues, but its formed not in the way where you distance yourself from others to protect you, but the way where you form unhealthily quick attachments to people you shouldn't. have a conversation a single time with him? he now considers you a FRIEND, no just, 'possible acquaintance' like most people would)
Cross was a little more tricky. Like Horror, hes slow to warm up and trust, and also like Horror, can see the manipulation a mile away, and yet... Nightmare offered him freedom. he offered him a life outside these walls, a life he could freely live again, where he could pretend that what he did never happened, and he was pure again. So, hesitantly still keeping Nightmare at arms length.], he does as he says. Nightmare wanted Cross the second he said he used to be a soldier. A soldier, you say? Those are USEFUL skills, already honed. He likely has survival skills, he likely sleeps lightly, ready to wake or move at a moments notice, hes probably very observant, very physically fit, stays calm in danger, can listen to instructions and execute them perfectly, and, very importantly, works well in a group. Oh, and he can shoot a gun. That's useful too.
So, Killer was an easy member, as was Dust. Horror and Cross were much more difficult, but, when weighing up their usefulness against their resistance, he had to have them. they were vital to his plans, in the end, and he finds himself growing so much more fond of them overtime, and likewise, them to him. Yes, he doesn't regret picking his idiots, he picked well.

when i said that i feel like people need to watch house md with house/wilson shipping goggles to understand my idea of love and my love language, i meant that i really want what they have from the perspective of relating to wilson.
i want someone who digs and digs until they find my mess, my insecurities, my fears, my ugly truths and who doesn’t flinch. someone who knows i'm afraid of being seen like that and still insists on seeing me, every single piece of me, even the ones I’m ashamed of. I want the constant push-and-pull, the maddening, infuriating need to know and be known.
i want someone who takes and takes because, well, i am so ready to give and give piece for piece until it becomes borderline unhealthy. i want to pour myself into something, into someone, even if it’s messy and complicated and sometimes feels like it’s falling apart. i want to be needed that badly, loved that fiercely.
i want the kind of dynamic where you’re always circling each other, always challenging each other, always finding new ways to break and rebuild each other. I want that intense, consuming connection, where even when it’s painful, you can’t imagine being anywhere else.
i just really want to find a house to my wilson because they remind me that somewhere out there, there might be someone who doesn’t just tolerate my chaos, but embraces it. someone who makes me feel like it’s okay to be a little broken, a little complicated, a little too much… because they’re all of those things, too. and somehow that just works. <3

I think I understand why the Superman trailer makes the movie look so good with such little footage and three reasons.
-Superman is beat and he is still getting back up
-the little boy hoping for Superman to come while everyone else is in panic mode
-the people have turned on Superman, which takes us back to point one.
Like awesome when it comes to Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific, but I don’t think the teaser trailer needed them when Superman (and Krypto) can carry it alone

Favourite episode of leverage?
I have thought about this so much you have no idea. Bankshot Job.
It has everything. Job in a job, early example of the ot3 working together, great Nate/Sophie episode, "sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get", sets up the fbi aliases + mcsweetheart and whats-his-face reoccurring thing, eliot beats up some meth heads (and says "we'd be the calvary" which gets references SEASONS later in the San Lorenzo job), Nate even gets shot! It's got everything!!

Do you have a tutorial for how you do hair bc it’s literally so gorgeous ;-;
Thank you :D
Hoo boy let's go
To be honest, I don't really have a specific way for how I draw hair, but I'll try to explain the process as simply as I can.
I usually do a hairline first
Base sketch/shape of hair
Adjusting, adding strands of hair, cleaning the sketch
That's also where I tend to change shapes and readjust the overall face
With line art done - adding color
Shading, I recently started doing this type of shadows, which makes the hair pop out
Adding single strands and then like a "main shadow" of sorts on a multiply layer

Something that caught my attention while reading Lackadaisy
Consider the Savoys: Brutal, threatening antagonists with a voodoo mystique. Solid foils in their own way to both Rocky and Mordecai and probably others, worth examining elsewhere. But what really gets me about them is how the narrative lens that surrounds them helps set them up as villains you love to see lose.
All of which is to say: You ever notice how they're just about the only characters with substantial screentime that are not suffering?
The Lackadaisy crew's struggling with loss, poverty, and a half dozen unique layers of fear and trauma each. Mordecai's half-mad trying to deal with Atlas' death in his own way. Wick's hardly got anyone to take him seriously. List continues. The comic feels heavy and tragic and every time one of our characters hits more misfortune, or stoops to some new low, we feel it with them. It's one of the comic's greatest strengths, the degree to which the audience can empathize with the characters as they go through their pain. We're there with them, hoping, wishing things could be better, suffering every individual time it isn't.
But Nicodeme and Serafine Savoy: Thriving. They make effective villains in Lackadaisy specifically because they're excused from that pattern of narrative empathy. Their backstory is perhaps the only moment in any Lackadaisy media where they aren't having an absolute ball. They'll probably die young, and they know it, and laugh at it, and when the end comes they'll probably still be laughing.
It makes me feel an odd sort of jealous, on behalf of the rest of the cast. It's like watching fucking Ferris Bueller, if he was all about sex, drugs, and murder, just dance his way clean through a greek-style tragedy. Like, wait a minute, the world's supposed to be cold, punishing, relentless, but these shitheads are just doing whatever they want and getting away with it. They can't keep getting away with it! Can they???
And because we've got that angle, we've got the perfect recipe for villains here. We get to hate them and hope our heroes give 'em hell, because they're just about the only people around where a dose of comeuppance is going to make us feel good instead of just more sad. They can take it, both as characters and as narrative elements, and I just appreciate the narrative setup involved in setting them up in this way. We get characters, we get bad guys, we get dominoes to knock down guilt free.
