Thanks to the Wikipedia article on Long-term nuclear waste warning messages, lots of people know the "THIS PLACE IS NOT A PLACE OF HONOR" quote, but it occurred to me to look up the original document that it comes from, the 1993 report "Expert judgment on markers to deter inadvertent human intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant," by Trauth, Hora, & Guzowski of Sandia National Laboratories... and the whole thing is pretty fascinating.
Specifically, the famous quote and the pages above all come from the sub-report by "Team A," consisting of Dieter G. Ast (Cornell University), Michael Brill (Buffalo Organization for Social and Technological Innovation), Maureen F. Kaplan (Eastern Research Group), Ward H. Goodenough (University of Pennsylvania), Frederick J. Newmeyer (University of Washington), and Woodruff T. Sullivan, III (University of Washington). "Team B," I was surprised to notice, included astronomer Frank Drake (creator of the Drake Equation for estimating the changes of contacting extraterrestrial life).
The diagrams of possible construction options look a little bit like architectural plans, but also quite a bit like Dungeons & Dragons environment designs... and perhaps like the ruined architecture of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Atomic Protestants in 10,000 years be like “oh boo hoo we hate Rabbi Stormy's mandatory virgin sacrifices, fuck this entire religion, we wont teach our kids ANYTHING about avoiding ancient supposedly cursed ‘’’’nuclear waste ‘’’’ sites” and then their grandkids will run into some ray cats and think nothing of it.
“That looks like a normal cat, probably,” they think. “And besides, cats being forebearers of doom is a old superstition that my grandparents say is problematic.”
The kids follow the neon green ray cats as they wander towards an ominous obelisk, which has crumbled somewhat and been almost covered by vines. (Good thing it was made of stone and metal, not clay and soil, which would have succumbed to rainwater retention and slumping.)
Somehow they’re still able to read the inscription of ancient runes on this cool looking obelisk, which starts off by saying “This is not a place of honor” and the kids go “lmao fuck honor, my parents raised me to be anti-authoritarian” so they charge right in.
Another crumbled runic inscription reads “substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best”
Sounds legit! The cool spiky concrete playground looks rad as fuck, so they and the colorful cats climb all over and break as many things as possible and have a grand old time.

"this is not a place of honor"
Don't you have chills now?
*BEWARE* Spoilers spoilers spoilers if you didn't read A Glitch in Time yet! But probably you did, so... go ahead*
clears throat. Ehm ehm. We were saying... don't you have chills now?
So this:
Is this:
And this:
is this:
They're all Long-term nuclear waste warning messages.
I believe he's right. No scepter, no relics: they all think that this powerful "energy" comes from emotions, but there IS something under their feet, an energy, that may be the source of all the ghost energy, that created the entire ghost zone… and it's dangerous. And he should not try to search it.
Even the parallel with Steven Universe... the glowing butterfly.
In Steven Universe, the butterfly appears two times: one to symbolize distressing thoughts and the other... on a radioactive field. With giant strawberries. Of course in Danny Phantom it can symbolize both things at the same time...
This is what the "center of power" is, the ultimate weapon that Vlad was looking for.
This is what created the Ghost Zone. Danny, Sam and Tucker, in that scene, are standing on a nuclear waste repository.
Here’s a codex for the ancient ghost language used in A GLITCH IN TIME!
Not necessary for understanding the story, but could make for a fun re-read. 👁️🔎
#Danny Phantom#long-term nuclear waste warning messages#A Glitch in Time#the nuclear catastrophe theory#I almost hope it's not really canon so I can steal the idea XD#But I think this will be canon#That phrase is too specific#TOO specific

sycoraxophone: i say the cube was technically trapped because it was sleeping indefinitely and needed to be woken up
Good point. I didn’t think about that.
If enough people had survived the first apocalypse, I wonder if there was anything they could have done to stop the Cube ever waking up again. Maybe something like the nuclear waste long term warning signs and spike field
This place is a message... and part of a system of messages... pay attention to it! Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture. This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger. The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us. The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy. The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

Nyx is the most character ever. They’re genderqueer, they’re depressed and stressed and they were never listened to until was too late.
It was never Nyx’s fault. Other people didn’t listen, made mistakes or just didn’t care. Yes, Nyx’s initial visit to the tower set things in motion. However, even if the weasels hadn’t opened the door, the chaos demon would have left sooner or later because they were never really trapped.
Image description: screen shot of a reddit Q&A. The question is 'I'm curious to know more about how the first cube got trapped under the tower.' The answer is 'Nyx actually got this wrong - the cube didn't get trapped under the tower, they locked themselves away after consuming most of the world in order to await the rebuilding of civilization so that they could consume it all again.'
After the chaos demons killed Nyx, they then chose to stay on Earth as a ghost for 10,000 years, rather than moving on. They blamed themselves for everything that happened and they wanted to fix it but they didn’t know how.
Their best guess was that if someone could survive going through the portal without dying, then they might be able to fix it from the other side. Until Charlie came along, everyone they sent through died. They kept trying different things to get someone to survive but nothing worked.
Image description: screen shot of a reddit Q&A. The question is 'Was it a coincidence that nyx tried to recruit the same unicorn being messed with by pink and blue?' The answer is 'Nyx's portal experiments have all resulted in the deaths of the subjects. In order to feel less guilty about this, Nyx tries to use subjects that are already marked for death by the cubes.'
Image description: screen shot of a reddit Q&A. The question is 'how many other people did Nyx try to get through the portal to fix the mess that happened?' The answer is 'It was a few. More than one, less than twenty.'
In 10,000 years, Nyx killed less than twenty people. It’s obviously horrible that they killed so many people but they weren’t just throwing people at the portal willy-nilly.
They tried really, really, really hard to get it right every time. They also tried to use people the chaos demos had already chosen to mess with, so would die horribly soon anyway. Nyx killed less than one person every 500 years.
