People mention often that Buck should be in medical debt but legally speaking that not necessarily true. Every time Buck has been injured on the show it has been while on the job. I feel people are forgetting that worker’s compensation exists, and you know medical insurance. The only thing that might affect anything is that Buck “quit” during the lawsuit but it is possible the department was still required to pay for his medical bills. (Not sure if he ever actually quit). Additionally I often wonder how much money this man has saved. It is mentioned throughout the show that Buck has worked several jobs in the past before becoming a firefighter and he often lived out of his car is what I gather. So like the man has likely squirreled away money. I also could see Buck being the type to invest in stocks after going on a research binge. Also you know no dependents, never takes vacations, doesn’t appear to have hobbies.
