If you actually hate how Disney has turned the Lilo & Stitch live-action into a bad statement about race, do not go see or stream it.

If you actually believe that the original The Little Mermaid was perfect and needed no adjustments, and Eric was not a bland prince, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually thought that Emma Watson misread and mishandled the role of Belle, who, in the original, was expertly characterized, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the Genie wanted to be free, and Aladdin learned to trust, and Jasmine taught them both how, while the Live Action version ruined that, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the original Lion King movie was perfect and needed no bland NatGeoWild embellishment, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the Cinderella (2015) movie was a good remake, go out and buy the DVD—and then don’t go see and stream the other remakes.

Don’t do it. They don’t read our tumblr rants or watch our rage reels, but they count how many of us go see the new stuff. And they count our money as it goes into their bank account to fund the next one. And they count the time we spend on their streaming services. Teach them that we have standards, and the standards aren’t spectacle, and you can’t just buy us with soulless puppets of our favorite movies.

When you’re tempted to go hear the soundtrack play and listen to the dialogue you miss, just go watch the original. That’s what you really love.

#NotMyDisney alienated me with these last few movies, so I’m not playing the games anymore. Make movies for me, as if I’m the smart child you raised on good movies, or else I won’t go see them. If you guys want me, I’ll be waiting for the day that the Live Action Remake comes out, and then immediately streaming the original on Disney+.

Let ‘em measure how many seats are filled in their theaters, versus how many streams of the originals are playing on the same day.

Sometimes I forget this is a disney blog XD so here are my thoughts on the animation news from D23! (That I know of):

Moana 2 ⛵️: trailer looked great (the big sis lil sis moment??? AAAAA (Certified sibling dynamic enjoyer over here), animation is crisp and beautiful, story sounds interesting, LOVE Moana's redesign and that there are more characters for the journey! Only worries are the repetitive elements and no LMM, but I'll keep an open mind!

Zootopia 2 🐰🦊: we only got a few small details but I'm happy to see Ke Huy Quan in another movie, plus the few images we got really reminded me how I love that film! The one image of Nick and Judy radiates such energy

Toy Story 5 🧸: look, no one loves this series more than me, and no one is more terrified of this sucking. BUT. The tech plot line sounds promising. Just hope ruining 4's alltimer sad ending is done well, somehow

Incredibles 3🦸‍♂️: we just know it's happening. Please be better than 2. Please.

Hoppers🦫: YEAH BABY THAT’S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! This shit sound crazy! Plus, We Bare Bears guy! However, I do get people's annoyance at yet another not white Animated lead spending most their time as an animal or something

Win or Lose⚾️: such creative animation, and my kind of concept! I think this could take tumblr by storm!

Mufasa: The Lion King 🦁: sigh... at least the acting and expressions are a little better. Skipping it anyway.

Snow White 🍎: ahem... NO. Put aside how bad it looks, the exclusion of dwarf actors, frikin Gal Gadot, or the animals straight out of a Facebook AI commercial. This is the movie that PROVED ANIMATED MOVIES CAN WORK. Every single person who put their soul into that movie is rolling in their fucking Graves.

No Stitch this year. But here we have Alice-Kamala after the adventure with Stitch in the book. The Stitch in the book isn't the real Stitch. She had a lot of fun. Alice hopes to meet him one day and their cousins.

I don't even remember when I made my previous one of these, but IK it was on Instagram... and since I deleted all my posts there... yeah I don't have one of these on the internet rn so it felt like time haha

I've kind of been feeling off-and-on burnt out/creatively blocked the past couple weeks, but this one felt really really good to work on :3

I think looking up which characters had my MTBI again really just made me happy tbh, and it made me really excited to draw some fanart again. There were SO many characters I love, and even more that I relate to (for better or worse XD) and it... idk it was just nice and I had a lot of fun with this project overall :3

ALSO I GOT TO DRAW HAY-LIN!!! Best girl!!! I've wanted to be able to draw the W.I.T.C.H characters for as long as I can remember, and this is the first time I've tried in ages. So so gratifying. Childhood wish fulfillment fr :3
