Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 5 Illusion
(Spoilers below)
-XY is me. I’m sick and confused by all the name changes
-MR. BANANA is an expert. But considering Bob roth is considered one too… He might be overqualified.
-Glad Alex is keeping the wigs
-Alex went from Simon to Paula in one season (for those that get that reference.)
-As always Mr.Banana is known for his Expert opinion. Truly the intellectual Paris needs at this time
-Plagg having fun with the alliance ring. Adrien being annoyed that he is an NFT
-I just realized how TERRIFYING this actually is for Adrien. He Litterally has no control of his image and voice. Before he was tricked in his ads, now… yikes my dude
-Adrien sounds so shocked that his father wants to see him in the kitchen
-I will say this, Adrien’s horror and confusion over seeing his father is the reaction I had in passion. I too would be very confused.
-Adrien right now
Tumblr media
- Gabriel is so f***ing manipulative. My dude like I can’t.
-The only genuine emotion seems to be when he got burned
- Gabriel is actually really good at manipulation. If I didn’t watch the last 4 seasons I’d almost believe he’s trying to be genuine
-Alya’s theory about Fetch being used makes sense. We know better but it’s a nice idea.
-Nino being left out again. Pass my boy a bone please
-THE RESISTANCE! Nino my guy. I love you dearly. He planning a resistance group
-COMRADE MAYO! Adrien being the token White guy. I love it. Also @xhanisai probably frothing with joy over this
- Nino is shocked that Adrien can have lunch with them. I agree
-Baby boy never been to a cafeteria. That’s adorable.
-DAMN ADRIEN, you gonna kill that girl with your kindness
-Nino, can you give the boy one day to have lunch like normal?
-Nino being an absolute dork and I love it.
-Wait beurre Maître d’hotel (Butter hotel supervisor?) I think he meant butter. XD
-Chloé’s speed is super human
-Nino outted Alya and him to Adrien and Marinette (hilariously they both know)
-Alya is like wtf?
-Nino has a point
- Marinette is mortified tho
-Nino telling them Adrien knew, and Adrien being awkward
-Nino is taking Ls today
-oh and there’s Lila
-Marinette being feral protective
-Nino committing to the bit
-Lila posting social media pics of Adrien. That’s… so like her
-Damn, Nino picked up on the powers thing. He did that BY HIMSELF! Points for Nino. Respect the hustle
-Nino’s plan makes sense tho. But it is a dick move.
-Comrade Béchamel? Cool name
-Adrien really can’t have nice things
-Nino has a conspiracy board. Also I see Alya is rubbing off on him
-Nino is completely right. It is a stunt, but Adrien wants to believe it isn’t
-Nino realizing he went too far. That’s a good friend for apologizing
-And Lila overheard it and is probably gonna tattle
-I did like that quick exchange. Gabriel keeping his cool. But now he knows
-Gabriel acting like a parent… it’s so wrong
-And here comes the plan
-They had Marinette be the klutz. Did they seriously do the PIZZA BIT?!
-All over his White suit. Damn
-But no reaction. To be fair, He was expecting it. But only Marinette’s clumsy is experience
-Adrien… baby boy looks so awkward.
-Walks in, just Pastas his dad. Like not even making it look like an accident
-Now it’s Alya’s turn. I’m embarassed for all of them. Like Marinette could get away with it, because… it’s such a Marinette thing.
-Alya doesn’t even try hiding it. She’s like “this is dumb, yeet” no emotion
-I’m getting such squidward vibes.
-OH S*** He’s taking Adrien out of school. And for once… I can completely understand why. (The dietary food but was HILARIOUS tho)
-Nino went too far, I feel like Adrien is gonna be akumatized more than Gabe.
-Oh… Adrien can’t catch a break
-AND IT WAS A BIT! Gabriel you SOB
-GABRIEL YOU F***ing bastard! I hate and love how brilliant this is. It’s like Collector but crueler
-The plan worked… but it didn’t. Clever bastard
-WHY CAN WE SEE HIS EYES!
-So the bit allowing him to vanish is teleportation.
-Comrade Ketchup. Nino commits to a bit
-Monarch REALLY being petty
-Pollen, Nooroo and Kaalki… oh dear…
-AND CHICKEN! Noooo
-The rings make it so he doesn’t get I’ll from the effects!? Boooo
-he can use Sublimation to make himself INVISIBLE! Omg!
-“Grated Cheese?” “Plagg would be happy?”
-clever move monarch
-BUT NOT CLEVER ENOUGH!
-DEFEATED BY RATS! Amazing
-Dude just faked falling into the sewer.
-So pro, cool strategy, con beaten by sewer rats… I’ll say he broke even
-Magic lightning bolt? Nino honey… no
-But they did get to appologize to Gabriel but… Gabriel being manipulative
-COMRADE TARTER SAUCE. As funny as this is, this now makes the resistance useless.
-Gabriel you manipulative bastard
-This heartwarming scene brought to you by the letter M. FOR MANIPULATIVE F***!!!
-Nino added more sauces
-And Lila… now it’s detrimental
-Comrade sweet and sour oh! Cause she is TWOFACED. Clever 🙄
-And Tomoe is in on this but maybe more than we know
____________________________________________
8/10
I think it’s solid. It has some cringe but I thought the plans were clever. Nino showing how Alya has rubbed off on him is interesting. Though I swear Gabriel’s kindness is F***ing disturbing. And I’m loving it. Gabriel now is starting to feel more like a villain to me.
Adrien also getting some freedom is nice.
But it’s all fake. An illusion.
I am intrigued

Note
I don't get the Marinette Antis or most of them.
They claim that Marinette's the worst person on the show... But also say "If Marinette gave Chloe another chance after EVERYTHING she put her through, Chloe could've had the greatest redemption arc EVER!"
So they want who they think believe is the worst person, to reward an actual bad person for doing the bare minimum with super powers AFTER almost killing a bunch of people with said powers?!
My brain hurts!
I didn't make this, this and this post for nothing...
To most people Marinette is only worthy in if she takes care of other characters and if any other makes a mistake too it counts as Marinette's mistake. It's not even the show that makes it like this, it's this crazy fandom. But also Chloé stans can be so ignorant sometimes that it's hard to take them seriously so I stopped taking them seriously. I honestly didn't even consider that Miracle Queen will earn Marinette salt when I watched it for the first time, because the girl suffered A LOT in that finale, but it still did.
Apparently rough childhood is a good reason to team up with a terrorist. The same way people keep defending Félix. What Chloé and Félix and also Lila do is their choice. Marinette didn't tell them to choose to destroy the world with a terrorist, they knew what they were doing. Sorry for mentioning these two but I wanted to compare her to them for Chloé's character:
Lila didn't just help Hawk Moth because she was angry with Marinette/Ladybug (which was also a dumb selfish reason), Lila also teamed up with Gabriel to keep an eye on Adrien. Marinette gave Lila chance too. Lila agreed on both terrorism and abuse of her "crush". This is not just a rival of Marinette, this a messed up girl on a whole new level.
Félix knows what Gabriel is capable of and he knows what he's doing to his son yet he still let him win. Have in mind that Félix wanted to betray them all along, it's not just sentimonsters being sent into the sun, he had this plan all along. If Ladybug didn't sent sentimonsters into the sun he would still do it. Maybe that's why I ship him and Lila so much, they are literally the same person.
Chloé mostly did it for her social status. She never stopped bullying her classmates while being Queen Bee, she thought wearing a costume is enough to make her a hero - it's not. If Chloé was this quick to turn to Hawk Moth that means that her loyalty to Ladybug has never existed in the first place. People salt on Adrien for giving up his miraculous but imagine if THIS is what Chloé did instead of imprisoning the guardian. This just a proof that she wanted to be in the focus somehow and when she got kicked out of one team she went to the other one. Now she wants to make sure Adrien doesn't end up with Marinette more than anything because she has nothing now. She can still change tho and I would support her if she does but she has a long way to go and she has to actually try more. Even if she doesn't change completely which is not always possible I would love to see her try and I would support her. Chloé doesn't need a reward nor punishment, she got punished for it by never being Queen Bee again and Adrien ending their friendship, what Chloé needs now is to realize she was wrong and try to become a better person. Being a good person means not asking for anything in return, which is opposite of what Chloé did. She wanted fame, she wanted a reward. She wanted people to know who she is under that mask and love her.
That's why for betrayal you only blame the person who betrayed you. If they didn't like you they should've just break up with you and move on with whoever they want. When someone cheats on you with this other person it's not about this third person at all, they would cheat on you with others too, believe me. Chloé could've just walk out but she chose the hard way. And she keeps talking about how Ladybug failed her while being mean to everyone, which only further proves that Chloé wanted power, not a real friendship. It's not even Hawk Moth's fault that she did this, she was given a choice. When Marinette fails or when someone let her down she either turns the other cheek or she change her strategy, she doesn't blame it on anyone else. Chloé had to deal with consequences unlike Lila and Félix but Chloé also didn't regret her decision like these two.
I love how Chloé's character is written, you know? After so much analysing I STILL find new details and I'm so amazed by how deep her character is and how it divided the fandom but I hate how most people don't understand her. Yes, I sympathise with her sometimes, yes, I understand why she did what she did, no, I wouldn't do the same and, no, I can't blame anyone because she is the only one to blame here for her actions.

To Fight A Class
Marinette had been different ever since Lila Rossi came back from her trip to Achu. Her falsified trip to Achu. Lila lied about almost everything, and Marinette’s class ate it up like chocolate. Marinette tried to call Lila out on her lies, however, Lila used every word Marinette spoke and turned it against the bluenette. And her class believed her! Even to the point where they stopped being her friends.
Lila made up tales about how Marinette would confront her in the bathroom and threaten her, send her mean texts (which she backed up with fake text screenshots), and she even lied about Marinette physically attacking her when she was alone. However, Lila decided to kick Marinette when she was already down.
Lila created a fake text number and texted another fake number posing as Marinette and her cousin. Lila, using Marinette’s identity, ranted about how stupid her class was, how she was playing them from the start, going into extensive detail about how their dreams would never become true and how dumb they all were. After Lila showed the class this fake conversation, they decided to confront her. They berated her when she got to the classroom.
Marinette denied everything, and this made the entire class angry. It made Alix so mad she actually hit Marinette, resulting in a suspension for both girls. Marinette was sad about losing all of her friends. And was almost akumatized 6 times in a single month, only being saved because of Tikki and Plagg fighting off the akumas. Marinette was now a social pariah. Her former friends started to bully her, trip her up, pour liquids on her sketchbook, and even berated her from time to time.
They truly believed that Marinette was a bully, and that hurt her. It hurt her so bad. Adrien still told her to take the moral high ground, that Lila’s lies weren’t hurting anybody, and let Lila realize that her lies are bad on her own. Adrien didn’t realize that Marinette’s lies were hurting her. One time, Marinette yelled at Lila about her lies, and a yelling battle broke out between Marinette and most of her class, Adrien standing by.
Afterwards, Adrien came up to her and actually berated her and said he was disappointed in her. Marinette berated him back, said something along the lines of ‘I can’t believe I used to like you’, and told him to talk to her when he’s found a way to remove to stupid stick from his ass. Adrien still didn’t realize that he had no right to be disappointed in her, and still tried to talk to her. He eventually gave up, and said to Plagg, word for word, that Marinette was now ‘unsaveable’. It was that moment when Plagg started to change his opinion on his holder.
Things weren’t getting better in her superhero form either. Chat Noir had become even more flirting. To the point where Ladybug occasionally berated him for being so flirty and not concentrating on the battle. One time, when Ladybug berated him in the middle of a fight, Chat decided to be petty. Chat left the fight, leaving Ladybug to fight all by herself. Plagg pleaded with Adrien to go back into the fight, but Adrien thought it would be okay, right?
Wrong, the villain almost killed Marinette’s parents. After that, Ladybug and Chat Noir’s relationship became distant. Chat Noir continued to be flirty, but Ladybug acted like he didn’t exist. One day, during a fight, Chat Noir turned up the flirt and wasn’t even helping Ladybug. After the akuma was defeated, Ladybug berated him and told him to stop acting like this. This was all recorded. The media exploded in outrage and conflict. On one side, people were acting lenient and defending Chat, and the other side was full-on roasting him. This saddened Adrien, who acted like he was the victim here. It was at that moment where Plagg decided that Adrien Agreste was no longer worthy to be his holder. Marinette had been at an all time low in both of her lives.
And guess what? BUSTIER STILL EXPECTED HER TO BE AN EXAMPLE. Whenever there was an altercation, Ms. Bustier spat out some random bullshit about being a good example for the students, and being a good class representative. Marinette was still obligated to plan fundraisers, school trips, and events. She couldn’t take it anymore, and considered taking her own life. Instead, she quit being class representative and moved to Ms. Mendeliev’s class. Ms. Bustier tried to convince her to stay, but the class was adamant that they didn’t need a bully like her as their class representative. That was indeed false.
Max was the smartest kid in the class, just barely getting above Marinette, so they elected him to class president. They planned a bake sale fundraiser, and thought of everything, except the fact that Marinette always baked 70% of all the baked goods. They were convinced that they didn’t need her, so they just bought a bunch of baked goods. Some of them tried to buy from Marinette’s bakery, and were promptly told to leave.
So, their fundraiser started, and was garbage. Most of the customers at the bake sale didn’t like what the class had brought and thought they were wildly overpriced for being store bought. Lila lied and said hers was homemade. In the end, they raised just 50 dollars. The class was kind of low about this, but were still convinced that Marinette was a bully that was unwanted and unneeded. Speaking of the blue-haired designer.
When she switched to Ms. Mendeliev’s class, the class was worried. They knew Lila lied and had turned the entire class into sheep, and thought Marinette was some sort of spy. But when they learned the full story, they comforted her. However, there were 5 students in the class who were absolutely furious about how Marinette’s old class had betrayed her. Aurore Beauréal, Roman Reyes, Mireille Caquet, Marc Anciel, and Jeanne Lémery.
These 5 students walked up to the Akuma Class during lunchtime and absolutely laid into them about how they’ve treated Marinette. Of course, they defend themselves and Lila busts out the crocodile tears. This ends in a physical dispute between Jeanne and Alix, which ended with another suspension. Marinette’s new friends started to mold her into the helpful, confident, and kind girl she was before Lila told all those fibs about her.
She brought pastries in for everyone, even Ms. Mendeliev, and Ms. Mendeliev soon grew to be her favorite teacher. Her new best friends were still furious and wanted to take the Akuma Class down. HARD. Marinette denied this action because she didn’t want to be involved with them again, but when she saw Mylene make a friendship charm for Lila, she quickly agreed and revealed that she had a trump card named  Chloé Bourgeois.
Over the time where Lila was taking over the class, Chloe knew she was lying. She even called her out on it once. That was obviously a mistake. Lila spread even more lies about Chloe being mean to her. She said that Chloe paid people to wreck her windows and even wrecked her windows as “proof”. This caused the class to exile Chloe as well, which Chloe didn’t care about.
But what Chloe did care about was that Lila took Sabrina away from her. The class knew that Chloe was a bully, so it wasn’t hard for them to believe that Chloe did it. Sabrina started slightly threatening her by saying things like ‘People don’t want bullies as friends’ and ‘You can’t use your money to threaten people’. When the class confronted her about being mean to Lila, she didn’t want to take it anymore and went to leave.
She noticed Sabrina didn’t come with her. She called to Sabrina, who simply said ‘I don’t want to be friends with a bully.’ This broke Chloe’s heart and caused her to be akumatized into the Princess Dignity, who tried her best to get to Lila and force her to reveal her lies. Ladybug considered letting her hit Lila with her Blasts of Truth, but eventually overcame it and defeated Princess Dignity. Marinette heard about it and went to go look for Chloe.
She found her crying in an alleyway, where she thought no one would see her. Marinette consoled the blond, who tried to deny any feelings at first, but she eventually caved. She told Marinette about everything, and even admitted she had started liking Sabrina as more than a friend. Marinette and Chloe actually bonded over this, eventually losing hope that their crushes will ever come out of the darkness. (Marinette’s being Adrien, Chloe’s being Sabrina.)
After Marinette introduced Chloe to her new friends and told her about their plan, the blond was all in. Chloe put on an act and apologized to the class. They accepted the apology, Lila actually hugged Chloe, and Ms. Bustier was so proud that she gave Chloe a present. The group had a plan, a rather unnecessarily complicated one, but a plan it was.
They basically turned their fingers into metaphorical shovels and digged up dirt on everyone in that class, including the teacher. What they got was a gold mine of dirt.
They created a 40 minute video demonstrating all of Lila’s lies being disproved, and for the other half was recordings about the Akuma Class talking bad about each other and even some secrets that they had mentioned to themselves thinking they were alone. Her friends were ready to post it everywhere, but Marinette wanted to give them one last chance.
Her birthday was coming up and she was planning a party. She was going to invite her class. If they said yes, she would go small. If they said no, she would go BIG. When Roman passed out the invitation slips, the entire Akuma Class walked up to her table, insulted her, ripped all of their invitation slips and half, and threw them on Marinette’s table.
Marinette shed a single tear, before releasing a convoluting smirk. Any smirk Chloe gave would pale in comparison to the smugness in Marinette’s smirk. A smirk that made Lila Rossi a bit scared. Marinette replied with a simple, “Alright. Your loss.” They could hear the uncaringness in her voice. They expected begging, crying, and apologies. Not uncaringness.
Two months later, the Akuma Class walked into school, confused. Everyone was talking about a party hosted by Marinette. They were suspicious and checked Marinette’s social media accounts and saw that 67 pictures were taken and posted by Marinette on the night of her birthday. She had met so many celebrities. Mostly because Jagged Stone was her step-uncle, but she had some connections of her own.
She had designed dresses for Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Billie Eilish (i probably spelled that wrong), and many other artists and models under the identity of MDC. No one knew that it was her, except for her new friends of course, who she told a bit after they became friends. Marientte decided to reveal herself, and people were shocked that it was just a 14 year old girl.
Especially the Avengers, who she had handsewn suits and dresses for once. This was Marinette’s plan, to make her friends regret not showing up and meeting celebrities. However, thanks to a light good luck charm placed on Marinette by Tikki, her plan took an unexpected turn for the better.
Each of the class’s Idols showed up, Lois Lane (Alya’s Idol), Marshmallow (Nino’s Idol), Tony Hawk (Alix’s Idol), Daisy Ridley (Adrien’s Idol), and so many more. Nathaniel was especially hurt when his favorite idol showed up in the picture reel. When Marinette returned, the class berated her once more about how she should have invited them and how some of them could have met their idols and gotten sponsorships.
She then reminds them that she did invite them. They remembered what they did and looked a bit less confident. They still tried to retort and say that she should have told them that she was inviting their idols. She says that she didn’t, that Jagged invited them, they were still mad, but not as mad as they would be at the end of the day. Just as school was about to end, a video was sent to everyone’s phones in Francois Dupont, even some outside of school.
The first 20 minutes were discrediting every lie Lila told. Lila tried to refute it when she saw it, but there was no way to discredit cold hard evidence. The next 20 minutes were revealing secrets, insults, and lies that the class had kept from each other way before Lila even showed her face. Nino stealing from his competition, Alix cheating in multiple races, Kim insulting a lot of his classmates and cheating, Max not even being the one who built Markov, Mylene shown not to be happy in her relationship with Ivan and even ranting about the poor brute, Alya being racist to a dude who had happened to see Ladybug detransform and wouldn’t tell her anything, and so much more. The only ones who had no dirt to dig up were Ivan, Juleka, and Rose, who were relieved.
However, then something unexpected popped up on everyone’s phone screens. A little 6 minute video revealing Adrien to be Chat Noir, posted by Jeanne with the permission from Marinette. It also showed how hostile and petty Chat Noir had been to Ladybug all because she wouldn’t date him. This made people hate Adrien and Gabriel even berated his son for ruining his reputation.
Adrien was about to go take it out on Marinette, but didn’t expect to be swarmed by a bunch of Kwamis. They stole his ring off of him and flew off, with Plagg stating that Adrien was no longer fit to be Chat Noir before following the rest of the Kwamis. This made Adrien extremely sad, but instead of Hawkmoth akumatized him first, he turned Adrien to the side of evil. Hawkmoth revealed himself as Gabriel and managed to convince Adrien to become evil. He gave him the fixed Peacock Miraculous and Adrien became a recurring villain to Ladybug. However, Ladybug had a new team.
Ladybug decided to give Miraculouses to the friends she knew would always be on her side. She gave Roman the Cat Miraculous, Aurore the Rooster Miraculous, Mirelle the Mouse Miraculous, Kagami the Dragon Miraculous, Luka the Snake Miraculous, and Jeanne the Ox Miraculous. She even gave Chloe the Horse Miraculous so that she wouldn’t have to worry about the secret identity thing again. After a few months of Adrien terrorizing the city as Feather Rouge, they finally defeated him, they threw his ass in jail along with his father and his assistant.
Her class, after seeing the video, started fighting amongst themselves, eventually escalating to an every man for himself brawl in the classroom. Every student in the class was suspended, but with the video, they had enough expenses expelled. They all decided to blame Lila AND Marinette for this. They went to confront Marinette, even though they all hated each other. Only to meet a badass, angry,  pizza stick weilding Chinese mother who told them to fuck off (she didn’t say “fuck off” literally, but they could tell that they should by her tone of voice).
They eventually got to Marinette, and tried to berate her again. However, her real friends were there to defend her and scare her former friends off. Marinette thanked them and was grateful to have real friends.
(This is the first fic I’ve ever written. I wrote it in like an hour. I was rushing. I’m sorry if it’s bad.)

Sunrise on Gotham
Read Sunrise on Gotham on AO3
Masterlist
Written for Maribat March Day 29 - Wait!
Gotham wasn’t Marinette’s first choice for the location of their class trip. In fact, the grim American city hadn’t even made her top ten list. Marinette wanted to go to Amsterdam, a city rich with history and culture. But when Mm. Bustier announced that a vote for the class trip location would be held, the class voted almost unanimously. After all, Lila’s long-distance boyfriend, Damian Wayne, lived in Gotham. Wouldn’t it be great for Lila to be reunited with him? And Lila traveled so frequently that she had already visited all of the other cities Mm. Bustier suggested. Would it be fair to make her go visit a city she had already been to? Marinette scoffed as she overheard the class discussion. She knew that this was just another one of Lila’s lies, perfectly designed to manipulate the people around her into doing what she wanted.
Marinette kept her mouth shut while her classmates all decided to vote for Gotham. But that didn’t stop her from putting her checkmark next to Amsterdam on the ballots Mm. Bustier passed out. Maybe that would have been the end of Marinette’s bitterness if Lila hadn’t “accidentally” glanced at the ballots on Mm. Bustier’s desk she was leaving the classroom. Marinette could still remember Lila’s sickeningly sweet voice, feigning concern for Marinette, asking why Marinette wanted to go to Amsterdam so badly.
As Marinette scrambled for an answer, Alya turned to her with cruelty in her eyes. “I can’t believe you’re trying to sabotage Lila and Damian’s reunion. You’re so selfish, Marinette.”
Marinette didn’t bother replying - it never helped. As she left the classroom that day, she could see the disappointment in Adrien’s eyes. Her crush on the blonde model had long since faded, and alongside it went the rose-colored glasses she used to see him through, back when they were both thirteen. Now, four years later, all she saw was a selfish boy who cared more about avoiding conflict than actually solving problems.
Four months later, the plane landed in Gotham just as the sun began to rise. As her class walked from the airport to the hotel, Marinette felt herself zone out. Even though it wasn’t her first choice, Marinette could still appreciate the sight that was the Gotham skyline. Looming silver skyscrapers were framed by the gray, cloudy sky. As Marinette took in her surroundings, she began to wish that she could stop and get her sketchbook out. Ideas for a Gotham-themed fashion line popped up in her mind like weeds, and she needed to stop and pick them before she could properly zone back in. Gray was a color she had never properly worked with, which would make incorporating the color a nice way to challenge herself. In her mind, shades of gray instinctively started organizing themselves into the different ways she could pair them together.
“Wait!” A hand grabbed Marinette’s arm, pulling her back. Marinette gasped as she realized that she was about to walk onto the street, straight into traffic. She whipped around to face her savior.
The first thing Marinette noticed was his height. She was used to feeling short, at 5′2″, most people were taller than her. But he seemed to dwarf her. She figured he was 6′0″ at least. The second thing she noticed was the look of concern in his eyes. “Are you okay?” He asked.
Marinette nodded jerkily, trying to control her breathing. Having a panic attack alone in the middle of downtown Gotham would be just about the worst thing for her to do. She was supposed to be Ladybug, the savior of Paris, yet she was so unaware of her surroundings in a completely foreign city that she almost got killed in traffic. “I’m okay, I was just daydreaming,” she babbled, “Usually I’d be more aware of my surroundings, but I just got off of the plane and I’m not used to jetlag.”
The stranger had a bemused smile on his face as he walked her talk. Marinette blushed as she realized how dumb she must look to the handsome stranger. “Your accent, is it French?”
Marinette nodded. “I just got here from Paris. I’m on a class trip.”
“Where’s the rest of your class?”
Marinette looked around, trying to figure out which way her class went, but they were already gone, out of sight. “I’m not sure...” She trailed off. “But I have the address for the hotel on my phone, so I’ll be able to catch up with them there.”
“Gotham is known for being difficult to navigate. I can take you there if you’d like.”
“Sure,” said Marinette, pulling her phone out to check the address. “It’s called the Gotham Grand Hotel. It's on the corner of 7th Avenue and 22nd Street.”
“That’s about twelve blocks away. It’s pretty far. Are you sure you’re up for the walk?”
Marinette nodded. “I’m sure I can make it."
His smile returned as he introduced himself. “I’m Damian, by the way.”
“I’m Marinette,” Marinette introduced herself as Damian led the way.
A moment later, Damian's phone started to ring. He answered it while still walking. "Hello.”
A brief pause, then. “I’m on 4th Avenue, by the Starbucks.” Another pause as he listened to the person on the other end of the phone conversation. “I’m not free right this moment, but I will be in a few minutes." Another pause. "I'm helping someone get around the city. She got a little lost on her school trip, and you and I both know that the city isn't exactly safe when you don't know your way around it."
Marinette was beginning to wonder who exactly Damian was talking to, but she didn't want to be rude and interrupt. Instead, she got her phone out of her pocket and sent a quick text to Alya, telling her that she would be a little late because she got disoriented on the hectic Gotham streets.
"I'll be free until five tonight. Father's insisting that I come and have dinner with the family, and I have my internship afterward, from seven to nine." Another pause, this one longer. "I suppose that would work. I was planning on going out to eat at some point, anyway. I'll just have to ask Marinette if she's okay with it."
Damian put the phone down and turned to face Marinette. "My boyfriend, Jon, offered to pick us both up and drop you off at your hotel on our way to get brunch. If you don't feel comfortable with that, I understand."
"Oh, it's perfectly fine," Marinette assured him.
Damian frowned slightly before replying to his boyfriend. Marinette knew that Damian probably thought she wasn't being cautious enough, but she didn't care. After four years as Ladybug, Marinette was confident that she was capable of taking care of herself.
A minute later, a car pulled up beside them. “This is Jon’s car,” said Damian as he grabbed the door for her.
“Thank you,” Marinette smiled in return as she pulled her suitcase in after her. "Hello, Jon. I'm Marinette."
"Welcome to Gotham, Marinette." Jon leaned past the driver's seat to shake her hand. Marinette noticed that he had a very friendly face: a nice smile and kind eyes. "How are you enjoying the city?"
"It's nicer than I expected, I suppose, but I didn't exactly have high expectations. Gotham has a reputation in Europe for being the worst tourist destination in America."
Damian nodded. "That sounds like Gotham. It'll grow on you, though."
"Like a fungus," added Jon.
"If you say so." Marinette cast a distasteful look out the window of the car at the gray streets.
"Do you have any plans for lunch?" asked Jon.
Marinette shook her head. "Not really. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor, but their lunch menu is pretty limited. I'm vegetarian, so my only option is a salad."
"Would you like to come to brunch with us?" offered Jon.
"Are you sure you want me there?" Marinette didn't want to be a third wheel if brunch was supposed to be a date between Jon and Damian.
"Of course," said Damian.
"Alright. I don't think I'll be missing anything if I go with you. Our itinerary keeps us pretty busy at the beginning of the trip, but we were given today to rest up, to help get rid of the jetlag. I switched my sleep schedule a week ago, though, so my body is already running on Gotham time.”
Damian nodded thoughtfully. “Do you want to check the itinerary, just to be sure?”
Marinette shrugged. “It can’t hurt to check it one more time.” She pulled the paper out of her suitcase. “Our class doesn’t have anything planned until tonight. We have dinner at a restaurant called..." Marinette consulted her itinerary, "The Coast, and then we’re seeing Wicked at one of the theaters downtown.”
“I've been to The Coast before with my family. They have very good vegetarian options. It is very expensive for a high school class trip,” Damian noted.
“I go to an accelerated school. The school has a very large budget, due to the amount of tuition, and the number of alumni who give back to the school.” Marinette shrugged, a nervous tick. She didn’t like talking about how much her tuition cost. Even with her 50% scholarship to Francois Dupont, tuition was still a struggle sometimes. Her parents didn’t make that much money from the bakery, and compared to the elite professions of some of her classmates' parents, Marinette was often considered to be poor. It left her feeling out of place, guilty every time she felt embarrassed by her working-class parents.
“That sounds-“
Marinette continued to babble. “I’m grateful for the opportunities that François Dupont gives me. Much more grateful than a lot of my classmates, anyway. Some of them only read the itinerary for the first time on the plane ride to Gotham. One of my classmates, Chloé, threw a fit because she believed that the entire trip would be a shopping spree through Gotham. Other students got mad for other reasons. One of my classmates made some promises that she had no business making - telling everyone that we would be getting way more free time than we were actually given. It’s a shame. I used to love being a part of Mme. Bustier’s class, but everything fell apart after...”
Marinette stopped half-way through her sentence and stared down at her hands as she realized that tears had sprung to her eyes. She felt the red flush of embarrassment begin to overtake her face. "I'm sorry."
"You don't need to apologize. It sounds like you have a lot going on with your class at the moment."
"That's putting it mildly," said Marinette. "It's been... difficult, to say the least."
"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Jon.
Marinette shook her head. "Not really. Even if Gotham wasn’t my first choice for our class trip, I still want to at least try to have a good time.”
“What was your first choice?” asked Damian, a hint of curiosity to his voice.
“Amsterdam,” said Marinette longingly. “But Lila wanted to visit her boyfriend in Gotham, Damian Wayne, so the whole class ignored the fact that Gotham is the most crime-ridden city in America, all so that Lila could visit her boyfriend.”
Damian looked shocked. “Did she say her boyfriend is Damian Wayne?“
Marinette nodded. “Uh, yeah.”
Jon snorted. “I know that you like girls too, Damian, but I figured you would tell me before adding a third to our relationship.”
Damian rolled his eyes, quipping back something just as clever. Marinette was too stunned to listen, as she realized that the rich and powerful Damian Wayne whom Lila claimed to be dating was the same Damian who helped Marinette on the streets of Gotham. Marinette stuttered out, “I didn’t- I didn’t realize that you- you’re Damian Wayne.”
Damian chuckled. “I can tell. I have to admit, I’m not used to not being recognized. I'm pretty famous around Gotham."
“The Billionaire Bisexual Ice Prince of Gotham,” quoted Jon with a grin on his face. “The tabloids love Damian.”
“It’s unfortunate, but it can’t be helped. The tabloids obsess over everything even slightly unconventional, and to them, the bisexual bastard son of billionaire Bruce Wayne is the perfect target. Even more so when he started dating another man.” Damian's voice was smooth, but there was an undercurrent of bitterness to it. Marinette got the sense that he didn't often open up about his relationship, for fear that the media would not be kind about it. Marinette sympathized. Françoise Dupont had been a progressive school: they had a GSA and a no-tolerance policy (not that the policy was ever upheld). She hadn’t been bullied, per se, for being bisexual, but she had experienced the all too familiar feeling of being othered for who she happened to love.
“Nice use of alliteration,” said Jon. His words would have lightened the mood if it wasn’t for the slight strain to his voice.
It was obvious to Marinette that this was a sore subject between the boys. “So how long have you two been dating?” asked Marinette, hoping to lighten the mood.
“Two years, but we’ve been friends since middle school,” answered Jon. “Damian was the world's most uptight twelve-year-old, so I took it upon myself to get him to loosen up. We became friends and everything since then just sort of fell into place.”
“An apt recounting, even if it omitted some pertinent details.” Damian conceded.
“Like what?”
“Like the fact that I was the one to ask you on a date, and you were so shocked that I had figured out that you were bisexual that you dropped the glass in your hand, shattering it,” teased Damian.
“I thought I was being subtle about it,” Jon defended.
Marinette giggled. If she could just spend all of her time with Jon and Damian, rather than her class, she might just have fun on her class trip.
Damian turned to Marinette. “He had a pride pin on his jacket and listened to Carly Rae Jepsen. Subtlety is not, and has never been one of Jon’s string suits.”
Marinette noted that she had a pride pin of her own attached to the front strap of her backpack. Most people never took any note of it - Marinette had quite a few pins on her backpack - but Marinette got the feeling that Damian was aware of it.
"We're here," said Jon, parking the car in front of a little café.
"Café Carlisle has good vegetarian options," Damian assured her as he opened up her car door and helped her out. "They make a superb gourmet grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. I would recommend it to anyone."
"That's pretty high praise. I get the sense you don't give false compliments."
"I don't." It was a simple answer. Marinette was beginning to get a clearer picture of Damian, who didn't waste unnecessary words but was never afraid to speak his mind.
"Then it had better live up for expectations," teased Marinette.
Damian smiled at her as he held open the door to the restaurant. "It will."
As Damian led Marinette to a booth in the back of the restaurant Marinette caught sight of the reflection of her little group in one of the windows. There was a look on Jon's face that Marinette wasn't sure how to interpret. He had a smile on his face, but it wasn't the joking smile Marinette saw a lot of in the car. It was more of an indulgent smile, giving Marinette the sensation that Jon knew something that she didn't. Marinette wanted to turn around and ask him what it meant, but part of her brain begged her not to ruin this budding friendship before it had even begun.
Marinette had only known Damian and Jon for twenty minutes but already had the strangest feeling that there was a connection between them, some sort of relationship that needed nothing more than a little bit of shown vulnerability to create a deep bond. The only thing Marinette could think to liken it to was love at first sight, but it was beyond that. This wasn't infatuation or obsession (both of which Marinette knew well from her days of crushing over Adrien). This was deeper. This was the knowledge that Damian and Jon had seen her vulnerability and had embraced it, showing vulnerability in their own way. Neither boy had said it out loud, but given that they had both closed themselves off from physical affection as soon as they were in public, Marinette made the assumption that any sort of public display of affection was off-limits to them anywhere that the tabloids could see. It put the fact that they had been incredibly open about their relationship in a new light. It reassured Marinette that she wasn't just imagining their connection. Damian and Jon must have felt similarly about her to be able to talk to her about their relationship.
"Marinette?" Damian spoke her name, snapping Marinette out of her thoughts.
Marinette blushed. "Sorry, I tend to daydream a lot."
Damian smirked. "I'm aware. You almost wandered right into traffic the last time I caught you daydreaming."
Jon stifled a laugh. "What could you possibly be thinking of that would make you so focused that you managed to ignore the traffic right in front of you?"
Marinette launched herself into a spiel about her newest design inspiration, explaining as she went that she was incredibly passionate about fashion and designs and that her designs often had her zoning out for hours at a time. Jon and Damian looked so interested in her explanation that Marinette blushed, not used to having anyone's undivided attention.
Marinette wasn't yet certain where she stood with Damian and Jon in terms of the relationship between the three of them, but she couldn't wait to find out.

Only (a salty) human
Marinette is gonna be OOC
“As long as you and I both know the truth, does it really matter?”
Tumblr media
Yes, Marinette decided. Yes, it matters very much.
Marinette took hold of Adrien’s hand, blushing furiously as she did so, and pulled him into a private corner.
Marinette: Adrien, I don’t want to humiliate Lila, but her lies are hurting people. They’re hurting our friends, they’re hurting me. Hell, she’s even lying about Ladybug. Do you honestly think Ladybug would like that.
Yeah, Adrien saw firsthand how much Ladybug hated liars.
Adrien: but people lie all the time. And how is she hurting everyone?
Marinette: seriously? Adrien, she shoved me to the back of the class just to sidle up to you. Do you know what it’s like? I let Chloe bully me out of my seat before and I’m not going to let Miss Liar do it again.
Adrien: well, I could sit next to you, if you want.
While Marinette felt thrilled by this, his pacifying nature was also kind of infuriating.
Marinette: you don’t get it, do you? Your silent method may seem all high and above at first, but it’s not. I didn’t protest because everyone kept pressuring me to ignore the fact that they just changed seats without my consent. Is that what being your everyday Ladybug means? Staying silent when you know something is wrong? Because that seems really messed up. The real Ladybug would never have allowed wrongs to go by without speaking up.
And another thing, why do you seem to care so much about Lila being akumatized? I was almost akumatized this afternoon. And once the truth is known, Rose will probably be akumatized. This whole Lila situation will end with someone being akumatized no matter which direction we choose to take. What matters is how we deal with it.
Adrien: you were almost akumatized.
Marinette: yes; when Lila threatened me. She’s not looking to make friends, Adrien. She’s a bully, like Chloé, only sneakier.
Marinette took a deep breath. “And I don’t care if you disagree or not, but I am done letting bullies tell me what to do. I am done with that, even if everyone turns against me, at least I won’t have the guilt of watering the lying tree.”
With another firm breath, Marinette stomped out.
Originally she wanted to call out Lila for the ear comment but thinking through it, Lila could have said it was a slip of the tongue. She needed stronger proof.
Taking out her phone, Marinette made a call.
A few minutes later, Marinette walked up to the group. “Hey Lila, can you tell us again about how you got your tinnitus?”
Raising an eyebrow and suspecting Marinette was looking for loopholes in her story, Lila nonetheless obliged her with the story of Jagged’s pet kitten.
A sound of choking penetrated the air. “Kitten? Is she kidding me? What Jagged fan would believe I ever owned a kitten? I’m allergic to fur!”
Everyone recognized that British accent. Lila paled.
Everyone looked around only to see Marinette taking her phone out of her pocket, revealing Jagged’s face on her phone.
Marinette: but isn’t there more? Didn’t you tell us, Lila, that Jagged wrote a song about you?
Jagged: Why the hell would I write a song about a minor? Please tell me you didn’t believe her, Marinette.
Marinette: at first I did. But then I realized she was nothing but a liar.
Jagged: don’t worry, I’ll sic my lawyers on her. Especially if there are people who believe her.
As Jagged ended the connection to call for Penny, Marinette kept her focus on Lila.
The class stared round at Lila. “So you don’t know Jagged.”
Before Lila could react, Marinette spoke. She knew the dangers of Lila’s acting.
“So if you don’t know Jagged, then why did you rearrange our seating? And since I doubt your medical disabilities are real, why did you have our classmates buy your rather expensive lunch set?”
Recalling how Lila had taken their money, the others now steered clear. Any feelings of pity were now less likely.
Lila screamed, “how dare you?”
Marinette: how dare I? What was it you called the class? Stupid? And since I was smarter than they were, I had better play along or you would turn them against me, as you so easily proved during lunch?
More guilty looks.
Marinette: in fact now that I think about it, if you are so concernéd about who is lying? Why don’t we just ask your mother if you were really in Achu? If she agrees that you were there for months instead of skipping school, then I won’t argue and I’ll even apologize. What do you say Lila? As class president, I even have her number for emergencies. Shall we call her?
Lila paled even further. With rage? With fear? “Don’t you dare! ...she’s very busy with work.”
Marinette: no mother would ever think work was more important than her daughter. And she pressed the button.
Everyone held their breath. The confrontation had drawn such a large crowd that Lila couldn’t run away anymore. She was surrounded.
The call was answered. “Hello.”
Marinette: hello, is this Lila Rossi’s mother?
Mrs Rossi: yes. Is something wrong?
Marinette: oh it’s nothing serious. We are just missing the official documents for Lila’s school leave. We understand that it is a noble cause for helping Prince Ali organize his charities, but rules are rules.
Mrs Rossi: I’m sorry, but what charities?
Everyone stared either at the phone or Lila.
As Marinette recounted what Lila told the class, there was a long silence.
Mrs Rossi: Lila told me that the school had been shut down for months because of the akumas.
Marinette: yes, school does get cancelled because of akumas, but since they are stopped within the day, classes resume the next day.
Mrs Rossi: thank you for telling me this. I think it’s time I went down to the school and had a chat with your Teachers.
Lila: mama, don’t listen to her! She’s been akumatized.
Marinette: if I’m akumatized then why are you even here?
Lila: I’m being held captive.
Student: um, you’re just sitting on the bench.
Anyway, Lila is exposed. The akuma was actually gone. Let’s just say Adrien listened to Marinette and kept watch. Sensing the akuma, Plagg pointed it out and Adrien caught it before transforming to use cataclysm. He doesn’t like killing butterflies but the dangers of this butterfly cannot be ignored.
Lila was expelled the very same day she returned to school. The class apologized to Marinette, who felt weird after being so salty. Adrien apologized as well for not thinking things through.

Daminette Soulmate AU - Idea/Prompt?
Yes, I know that not everyone likes Daminette in the fandom, mostly because they don’t like Damian, or crossovers, or the salt that generally comes with these fics (though I plan to keep this salt free). Which is fair.
But Daminette Soulmate fics tend to have similar starts to explaining the specific soulmate type that Damian and Marinette have that is so rare seemingly no one else has it. This is a twist on that.
The “ultra-rare” versions that I’ve seen picked are always something kind of dramatic, I guess? Swapping bodies for a period of time as an example. And sure something like that does fulfill the general understanding that the League of Assassins might not look favourably on soulmates, as Damian wouldn’t want to have a physical mark if you’re going down that route.
But I saw a Soulmate prompt that’s far subtler and kind of perfect if you’re the kind of writer who likes to play things for comedy purposes. I can’t remember the exact wording, but it goes something like:
Everything you can do, your soulmate can also.
This would go someway into explaining how Marinette can just become a superhero in minutes, what with the necessary fighting skills and battle strategy. Sure her mother was introduced as being a trained martial artist in Troublemaker but there’s no evidence that she did teach Marinette - she’s only now learning Mandarin after all (though Marinette probably would know Mandarin since it’s likely one of the languages that Damian speaks: little baby Marinette speaking random Arabic) Not to mention the idea that Ra’s and Talia accidentally taught a random French-Chinese infant how to be an assassin with no knowledge they were doing it.
Damian has mentioned a lot about the things he can do beyond fighting and language skills of course. Like being able to drive by the age of ten, hacking into NASA at six and finding it easy, he’s mentioned that he could have had a Geometry Degree (by what 13?) had his mother not killed his tutor. He’s a great artist, and he’s also able to perform magic (which he doesn’t persue despite his interest in doing so).
Of course the art and the magic could be explained in this AU as having come from Marinette. And his training and tutoring both goes some way to explaining why Marinette is almost two years younger than some of her classmates (Alix, Adrien, and Nathaniel have their 15th birthdays while Marinette is thirteen though she gets her 14th towards the end of the school year, the last timeline I saw had Befana placed in June) as well as the aforementioned fighting skill.
(When it comes to the fighting aspect of MLB I’m acknowledging that we’ve actually seen Gabriel teaching Adrien Kung Fu (?) in the Felix episode, as well as his Fencing skill. NOT writing him off completely)
But with Damian, imagine he’s now at the Manor and things have settled down into the fanon batfamily dynamic (canon batfamily has no place here and DC fans on this site have accepted that) and all of a sudden they find out that Damian can bake. Their reaction to that has nothing on finding out that Damian can make his own clothes. Of course Damian being Damian doesn’t mention not knowing where these skills came from to his family members because he already thinks it’s weird. He’s definitely not mentioning it to them after he’s convinced into playing Mecha Strike V with his siblings - the first time he’s even played a video game - and just trounces them all.
Marinette doesn’t get the luxury of being able to explain away her quirks to her family though since she’s raised by them. I’m entertaining the idea that neither Tom or Sabine actually know for sure that it’s a soulmate bond giving M the weirdest skills (though she’s never been raised to think that violence is the answer so they’re probably not as worried as they should be). Perhaps though, the closest they got to being told was a conversation with Andre the Ice-Cream man, whose advice they disregarded because he’s an ice-cream man. So Marinette definitely doesn’t know that this is abnormal.
Until, she’s in the middle of a fight as Ladybug and her miraculous starts beeping despite Lucky Charm not being called because Damian called it by accident.
He could have:
a) actually needed whatever the miraculous gave him at the time, or
b) been in an argument with a sibling about cereal (since Lucky Charms is an American brand of cereal)
Tikki tells Marinette what’s up, to her anger and frustration (and also giddiness because she’d thought she never had a soulmate - a topic that Chloé definitely bullied her on as children and Lila probably can’t comment on without the class getting defensive because of said history on the topic - and it turns out she does.)
A magic user on the League, or Wonder Woman, tells Batman. Who immediately tries to figure out who Ladybug is (this isn’t a JLA ignored Paris’ call for help fic since it plays with both LB and CN being more capable then one would assume - the miraculouses do balance each other whether you like the Love Square ship or not, and it’s not like Adrien isn’t the child of a supervillain being trained by said supervillain, I’m whether he knows it or not) only for the magic to stop him. But Damian might know.
And if Damian does know you have to entertain the thought that he also knows the rest of the Miraculous Team barring Chat Noir. Just imagine for a minute the rage he would have over his soulmate apparently not knowing who her partner in the field is. The fact that Marinette doesn’t know the identities of everyone in the Justice League until they’re standing right in from of her can be explained as her having no interest whatsoever in finding out who they are. Which would be an interesting way of showing that just because they’ve got the same skills that does not mean they’re the same people.

To Marry a Vigilante: Part 7
MASTERLIST || First || Previous || Next
----------
At least their purchases were found undamaged. That was a little upside to the disaster of the supervillain attack. Marinette suspected Tikki might’ve had something to do with this, but didn’t comment. Police kept the rope dart as evidence, but they promised to return it as soon as it was possible. Marinette gave Gordon her number (after the commissioner was vouched for by Damian) and number to her mother. It was a possibility that she would’ve been called to court to testify. She was a prime witness and while her involvement declared only self-defense, Gordon told her in all honesty that the lawyer might try to put some blame on her. It was a sad reality, but Damian reassured both his beloved and the commissioner that they would be prepared. Waynes kept a contingent of lawyers not without reason.
The teens were picked up by Alfred before the press figured out who the mysterious hero of the day was. Marinette really didn’t need more lights on her. It was enough that she agreed to make her relationship with Damian Wayne public at the gala. Objectively, she knew it was a better option than for the press to learn from students of Gotham Academy. Inside, she was dreading the event anyway.
When they arrived at the manor, Sabine, Tom, and Bruce were waiting for them. The girls launched themselves at the woman and she pulled them into a hug. Damian followed slowly, not revealing any emotions.
“I received a call from Jim,” Bruce began once they were behind the closed doors, “something about Firefly and brave teens stopping the attack.” He looked at all three of them with a judging glare. It wasn’t that he was disappointed, but it made the teens feel under deep scrutiny.
“It was all me!” Marinette confessed immediately. “He stopped us from escaping and we were with a bunch of kids. I just acted and I might have kinda accidentally… defeated him.” She spoke very fast.
“Don’t worry, Sweetie. We’re not angry or anything.” Sabine quickly reassured her while sending a glare at Bruce.
“Well… Yes.” The billionaire nodded slowly. “But you could’ve been more careful.”
“Ridiculous!” Chloé stared at the Wayne patriarch. “Utterly ridiculous! Of course, Dupain-Cheng could’ve just run away and left those poor lost kids to die, but she stayed.”
“I didn’t mean…” The man tried to speak, but the blonde ignored him.
“But no! Mr. Batman thinks that suddenly protecting others without the suit is somehow wrong. I didn’t see you on the scene at all. There was Red Hood, but he arrived there only after Mari already took out that flying pyromaniac.”
“I just…”
“So don’t go off on us preaching safety when you have your kids running on the rooftops every night.”
“But…” Bruce had no idea what just happened. He only wanted to congratulate them…
“I did get all the fabrics I will need, but we didn’t get to eat.” Mari decided to change the subject and spare her father-in-law further humiliation at Chloé’s hands.
“The lunch will be ready in five minutes. You can take it in the dining room.” Alfred spoke from behind Bruce, startling the poor billionaire. It was apparently not his day.
When the group moved there and took their seats, joined by Cass, who was the only other permanent resident of the Manor, Marinette decided on the next subject.
“And how did the Class trip go?” She asked her mother with a bright smile. The woman sent her a tired look in response.
“They are monsters. I sympathize with their parents if that’s how they act every day…”
“They can’t be that bad, love.” Tom tried to defend the kids, but several stares from around the room would kill him if it was possible. “I meant can. My English is bad. I meant can.” He raised his hands in surrender.
“That Lila girl is indeed a talented manipulator when she is not going overboard. If I didn’t know her, I might’ve actually fallen for her lies. And she even doesn’t resort to lies anymore.”
“What?!” Marinette was glad that she only got the lunch served and didn’t yet eat anything. “No way!”
“Yes. It looks like she established herself as an internet star to the point where she is somewhat famous.”
“Tt. She is still a harlot.” Damian muttered loud enough for everyone to hear.
“The modeling for the Gabriel brand and Ladyblog. Outside of Paris, it would make her into a star of some internet super-hero show in addition to a front-page model!” Marinette was suddenly enlightened. “I can’t believe her lies actually worked!” She collapsed in her chair, resigned. “Guess lying did work for her in the end…” Her face took a look of a beaten puppy.
“Say a word, Angel, and we can make you into three times the star she might be,” Damian spoke and Chloé nodded in agreement.
“It’s not that!” The bluenette tried to protest. “I just… Her lies hurt people. I told her that it wouldn’t work in the long run, and she proved me wrong ten times over…”
“Lila… bad.” Cass frowned. “Hurt Nettie.”
“Cass…” The girl tried to say something, but her cousin continued.
“I will… hurt Lila.” She stated confidently.
“No!” Marinette protested. “I’ve got enough trouble stopping Damian and my mom!”
“She is bad,” Cass stated confidently.
“Cassandra.” Bruce glared at his daughter, but before he could explain things to her, Sabine intervened.
“Sweetie, I appreciate you wanting to help Mari, but we must also respect her wishes. Even if I already have a place chosen… Never mind.” She smiled brightly before anyone questioned her.
The whole table exploded into laugher while Damian and Cass smiled wider than usual. It was just such… a familial scene. Like they weren’t a bunch of superheroes, but a happy family. Even if the talk was about murder.
----------
In a dark, damp room two people stood opposite one another. The male figure had a dark purple suit with the signature butterfly brooch pinned to the top of the shirt. His chest was protected by two black flaps that looked a bit like the moth wings. In his black gloves, he held a cane topped with a purple orb. The face was covered by a simple domino mask that did nothing to hide the mane of blonde hair on top of his head.
On the opposite was a woman in a dark-blue dress that hugged her figure very tightly. The clothing ended barely above her bust, continuing with a sparkly net that was almost translucent. From under the cut starting just below the belt, her legs were also visible and covered in the same sparkly net. The blue/purple of her skin clashed slightly with the dress, but the sparkles of the fancy net managed to offset it to the point it was barely noticeable. Her deep-blue hair was pinned back into a rather messy bun with two long strands framing her face.
“Are you sure?” The young man asked.
“Don’t worry,” she dismissed. “My grandma reassured me that this is perfectly safe. Besides, it’s too late to stop now.” She grinned and pointed her folded fan at the ground. When she unfolded it, several candles lit with pink flames, bathing the room in an eerie light. The light reached to three bodies laid in circles drawn with their blood. The two figures in the center were also in a runic circle.
“The bond will not interfere with my Princess?”
“Whatever that vile American did to her must have hurt her badly. You do want to save her and lift the curse, right?” She grinned when there was a new fire in his eyes. “And I told you about my demands.”
“I’m still not convinced.” He glared at her. “And I told your grandfather that his demands are ridiculous.”
“They are my demands.” She corrected him in an amused voice. “If you don’t want my help…”
“Fine. I will do it.” He suddenly closed the distance between them until they were face to face. “But don’t even try to trick me. I’ll know and I will end you. Nothing will stop me from getting what I want.”
In response, she gave him a quick peck on the lips. Immediately, the boy recoiled. She just licked her lips. “Whatever you want, beloved.”
“Ugh. Let’s just get done with this.”
The candles went out one by one when the female chanted in Latin. When the twelfth and last one died out, the room was once more dark. Then, the runes lit and red light enveloped both of them. She reached to the center and grabbed a small goblet. After taking a sip, she handed it to the boy.
He hesitated for a moment, but then also took a sip. They were both enveloped in deep scarlet light until it died out and both of them fell unconscious on the ground.
----------
Marinette and Chloé had to go with the class for the next trip, which was to the Botanic Garden. Damian and surprisingly Cass also joined them. And this was how the class almost signed their death warrant and handed it to Sabine.
As soon as the guide started speaking about various plants they had there, Alya and Lila started gossiping in the back.
“...told you she was a…”
“...I can’t believe he would…”
“...and that black-haired…”
“If it was up to…”
“I bet she just…”
“Maybe it’s a thing here?”
Finally, Sabine had enough. She asked the guide for a five minutes break to rein in the misbehaving group. Caline tried to protest, but she was silenced when the older woman looked her in the eyes with fires of fury.
“Listen up, because I’m not going to be repeating myself.” She started. “Cassandra is my niece, who lives in Gotham. By a lucky turn of events, she turned out to know Damian and agreed to accompany me and Marinette today.” She glared at every student in the group. Sabine noted that Alix stood alone in the back, separate from Max and Kim. “She is a precious little bean and if any of you dare to say anything bad about her again without even trying to talk to her first, I will personally see to it that your trip will be very-” She made sure to put emphasis on the word “-unpleasant. And if you even think about hounding her, I will see you suspended.”
“Now… Sabine, I think you’re…” Madame Bustier tried to defuse the situation.
“Caline. It is, and always will be for you, Madame Cheng. I’m on this trip to make sure they behave. If you’re not going to help me, try not to make my job harder than it already is.” She huffed and looked back at the class. “Am I understood?”
Several barely audible “Yes” could’ve been heard if someone tried hard enough.
“Good for now.” Sabine looked at their guide. “I’m sorry I had to interrupt.”
“No worries Mrs. Cheng.” The woman chuckled. “Anyone who tries to badmouth Cassandra or anyone from her family deserves your wrath.”
“Good. We can continue.” And so the group moved on.
Lila decided to change the subject of her lies and now kept talking about how good friends she was with Damian Wayne, or rather her Damiboo. It was clear that their guide wanted to add something, but Marinette’s boyfriend made a gesture to stop him. The grin on his face made it clear he had different plans.
After they finished the trip, the class was placed in the bus with Sabine while Damian and the girls were left free to wander around. Some tried to protest, but one murderous glare from Madame Cheng shut them up hard.
“Why Marinette and Chloé are allowed to wander around with some boy, while we are confined to the Hotel!?” Kim protested.
“Yeah! Lila can’t even meet her boyfriend!”
“It’s simple.” Sabine cut them off. “Marinette and Chloé are staying with Damian’s family, which is their host family for this trip. You will be meeting your host families after the new year.” She couldn’t stop herself from rubbing some more salt into Lila’s wound. She might be an adult, but it doesn’t stop her from being petty sometimes. Especially when someone decides to speak badly about her favorite (and hopefully only) niece. “If your… Damiboo was missing you so much, you could’ve asked him to invite you. Cassandra said he is attending Gotham Academy. I’m sure he would love to have you stay with him at Wayne Penthouse.”
“Oh! He did want me so badly with them, but we agreed that it would be better for me to get to know some of his friends.” Lila answered quickly and Damian had to stiffen a groan. How could someone be so dense?
“Suuure.” Sabine grinned. “Then please don’t complain about the situation of your own making.” It was clear that the discussion was over. Damian, Marinette, Chloé, and Cass were left to their own device.
“Chlo, I love you like the best friend you are,” Mari started when they were alone, “but Damian’s got a date planned. So bye!” She said before running off with her husband, leaving the flabbergasted blonde and the noirette alone.
“Ice cream?” Cass pleaded.
“Fine. I guess I can hang out with you then.”
“Ice Cream!” The other girl almost jumped in the air.
----------
The couple walked through the gardens in silence, holding hands and enjoying the cool air around them. The temperature was warmer than outside, but still rather frosty. Marinette, feeling bolder, dragged Damian’s hand down slightly and pulled him closer to her. She cuddled into his shoulder and smiled. After dealing with the class, it was nice to have some peace, only the two of them.
“So…” She started with a grin. “Wayne penthouse?”
“Tt. For your information, it’s where Drake and Brown live.”
“But Damiboo! You wound me! And I thought we could stay there together.” Marinette did her best Lila impression.
He tried to scowl, but the end result was an unholy mix between scowling and grinning.
They wandered around, laughing at occasional jokes and generally enjoying the time. At some point, Marinette dragged him to a hot-dog cart to enjoy what she called a ‘taste of America’. He couldn’t help but smile at some of her antics. They stopped for some coffee to rest their legs. He allowed her to talk most of the time, listening to all the details of her new outfit for Jagged Stone.
“...so I decided to replace half of the usual silver studs with golden ones. Or rather gold-colored. He doesn’t actually like the wealth display that much and is all for replacing it with cheaper ones. When his producer one time tried to force me to make him everything with the actual gold, Jagged signed it and immediately donated it to The Gotham Orphanage.”
“I remember.” Damian’s memory flashed him an article about it. “And don’t be modest. It held your signature too.”
“Well… He wanted to throw it to Fang first. It was so much not his style.” She smiled. “Bob almost had a stroke when he learned that he still had to pay for it full price. I think it was actually the first commission I accepted that was not priced like clothes for friends. I did deduce the cost of materials that he provided though.”
“Habibti. You’re amazing.”
She blushed at the compliment. “I’m not! I’m just a normal girl.”
“An amazing normal girl.”
“How can you be so smooth and so socially awkward at the same time?!” She squeaked.
“Because people are fools. You are perfection incarnated.”
“Stop it!” She giggled. “I’m not! I’m clumsy and awkward.”
“It doesn’t stop you from being perfect.” He countered. Before she could protest, he lifted a cookie and put it in her mouth. She bit it and munched it in silence. When she swallowed, he continued feeding her. In retaliation, she picked some whipped cream and gave it to him. They ended up feeding one another and laughing.
It was slowly getting dark, so they started walking toward where Alfred would pick them up. They still had some time, so Mari dragged Damian into the music store. There was a whole stand for Jagged Stone discs.
Marinette, feeling devious, pulled out a marker and signed two before handing it to Damian. He thought for a short moment before making a small heart next to her name and putting down his autograph too. They hid the discs behind others and moved on. In the end, Marinette bought some ballet music for Cass that Damian told her she didn’t have yet. The bluenette liked her cousin and wanted to get her something for ditching her with Chloé
When they exited the store, Alfred was waiting there, ready to take them to the Manor. The two sat in the back of the limousine in silence, cuddled together. By the time they arrived at their destination, Marinette had dozed off. Not having the heart to wake her, Damian did his best to gently lift her and carry her to her room. Somewhere along the way, she clutched to him tightly and didn’t let go even when he placed her on the four-poster bed. He sighed. He didn’t know if he would survive the teasing he would receive after someone finds them. Scratch that. Sabine would kill him before that.
Still, he would have to wake her up. With one more look to make sure the doors were closed, he lied next to her and stared up. He could at least stay awake, right?

Note
Adrien salt- the whole class are having a seminar on sexual harrassment where Chat Noir is being used as an example of a predator. Being in the role of perfect sunshine child he can't speak up or complain so he has to listen to how horrible his behavior has been. After the seminar is over the whole class is criticizing Chat with Marinette bringing up the Syren incident. Everyone goes crazy and Adrien realizes how his behavior truly is.
Adrien smiled as he settled in his seat in the amphitheatre, giving a smile to Nino as his best friend took a seat beside him, Alya and Marinette soon joining the pair.
"I don't really see why this is a required seminar." Alya spoke up, giving a shrug as she settled in her seat beside Nino, not to subtly making Marinette sit on the other side of Adrien. "Sexual harrassment is a pretty easy thing to spot. I don't support that kind of thing, it's nasty."
"Yeah, it's not really nice that people do that to others." Marinette whispered, trying not to turn beet red when Adrien's arm brushed against hers.
"Oh, did you guys see my latest post last night? Isn't this picture of LadyNoir to die for?" Alya grinned as she showed them a picture she had taken of yesterday's akuma attack. It was of Chat holding Ladybug in a passionate embrace as he tried to kiss her after the akuma had been purified and the victim had been taken home. The trio missed Marinette's scowled as they cooed over the photo of 'true love'. Adrien couldn't contain his grin.
Soon everyone was in their seats and a beautiful woman stepped up to the podium, smiling out at the crowd.
"Good morning, students of DuPont, it is lovely that you all are attending this important seminar. Things such as sexual harrassment are often dismissed or ignored, so I'm so proud of all of you for wanting to learn how to help and protect these victims who have suffered or may suffer such harrassment."
Adrien smiled and settled back in his chair, planning on fully investing himself in this seminar. He listened as the woman continued on with her introduction, then her explanations.
"Sexual harrassment has a rainbow of different scenarios. Some can be extreme, some can seem incredibly mild and not worth looking into. It's the latter one that I moreso want to focus on today, as those are the ones that are often dismissed. To keep things simple; sexual harrassment is when someone keeps touching you, when you clearly do not want to be touched. For example, you have a friend or a classmate who is constantly touching you, grabbing you, getting into your personal space despite you clearly being uncomfortable, pushing them away, or asking them to stop."
Adrien's mind instantly shot to Chloé and Lila, but quickly stomped that thought down, feeling a twinge of guilt in his gut. Chloé was his oldest friend, of course she would be all touchy feely with him, she'd always done it, he should be fine with it. And Lila... Lila never listened, but she didn't mean any harm, right?
Adrien ignored that niggling in the back of his head as he kept listening to the seminar, about how victims often brushed off the minor cases of sexual harrassment, saying it was no big deal, that they didn't mean it in that way, ect. The niggling just got worst as Chloé and Lila filled his brain.
"I'm going to give you guys a popular example of someone who commits sexual harrassment almost every time we see them in the media." The woman picked up a tiny remote and pressed a button, going to the next slide of her presentation.
A picture of Chat Noir was dead center of the slide. Everyone sat in dumbfounded silence, but as people began to speak to, the woman held up a hand.
"Please, I know he is a hero of Paris, but please, his victim shouldn't be ignored, his actions shouldn't be shrugged off just because of him being a hero. He may not realize he's even doing this, but this needs to be addressed." The woman stated, and oddly enough everyone quieted down, though Alya looked like she was ready to spit fire.
"Chat Noir isn't an extreme example, he doesn't go fondling his victim, he doesn't make sexual innuendos or push for sex from her. But his actions towards Ladybug are far from acceptable." The woman pulled up videos, playing a few of them. First was the day of the statue unveiling by the artist Théo. A reporter had gotten the conversation between Théo and Chat Noir after the ceremony, where Chat Noir claimed that he and Ladybug were dating after he figured out Théo had a thing for Ladybug.
"What...?" Marinette whispered softly in horror, not noticing the confused look Adrien sent her way.
"As you can all remember, Chat Noir had gone around telling everyone that he and Ladybug are dating, but what was Ladybug's response?" The woman smiled thinly, and then played more videos. The students watched interviews, news footage, ect, or the many occasions that Chat Noir had claimed that he and Ladybug were dating, soulmates, hopelessly in love; followed up by Ladybug stating that they weren't. They were just partners, that she was a professional, she wouldn't treat being a superhero so lightly. Each one was more frustrated than the last, as it was obvious that this was a running trend. Some students laughed at the final one, the one of Ladybug practically shouting it, while looking close to tears. Adrien hunched in his seat, feeling the shame reddening his face. Surely it wasn't that bad, right...?
"Oh yes, funny isn't it? Funny that a person's feelings are getting ignored, because everyone thinks it's all one big joke. Ignore the fact that she is obviously frustrated, angry, that her words aren't being taken as truth. It's all funny, because that's how people brush off sexual harrassment, they think it's all one big joke." The woman stated, though there was obviously more ice to her tone. "Everyone treats the heroes as if they were some characters in some weird cartoon. Ignore the feelings of both parties and just ship them for the sake of it. I even have footage of Ladybug saying she's already in love with someone else, but Chat Noir completely disregarding the statement.
"But besides the point, it is also bleeding into the akuma attacks. Chat Noir is often seen flirting or trying to steal kisses from Ladybug during the attacks. It's sad, really, because when those types of things aren't happening, they're a perfect team." The woman clicked her tongue. Adrien burrowed deeper into his seat as many, many, many videos were played. One Alya took note of was when the video of Gigantitan was played, the akuma being held back by Ladybug as it marched right towards the Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. Everyone watched as Chat Noir stepped up beside her, flirting and trying to steal a kiss instead of helping the heroine, while the akuma completely destroyed the upper level of the bakery.
"That's Marinette's room!" Alya cried out in horror, jumping to her feet. The entire room turned to look at the reporter, as she, in turn, looked towards her friend. "Marinette, were you in your bedroom when that happened?!"
Marinette sat there, looking like a deer in headlights, obviously struggling for words. Many took that as the affirmative.
"I'll kill that cat, he let you get hurt!" Alya rags, her face going red. Adrien felt that guilt twisting his gut again, bringing with it the nausea. He had gotten Marinette hurt..? He... He hadn't thought he had done anything wrong, he was just flirting, Ladybug knew that. They were soulmates, meant for each other. He loved her.
But then why did he feel so rotten and vile?
The woman quickly calmed everything down. She went over more material, but Adrien couldn't hear, because he heard a roaring in his ears as he felt lightheaded. Had he really been hurting Ladybug that much? Was he a villain, just like Hawkmoth?
"Now before you all go and try to crucify Chat Noir, I want you all to remember something. He may not even be aware he's doing this. I'll be honest, this is sort of the reason I am making this seminar mandatory in every school in Paris. If he is a student, as I believe he and Ladybug are, I want to show him. He night still just be a child, unaware of what he's doing. No one truly learns their mistakes unless those mistakes are pointed out and explained to them. Someone can either learn their mistakes and try and become better, or completely disregard the mistakes and criticisms and refuse to change."
The woman smiled, and gave a slight shake of her head.
"And I think Chat Noir would be willing to change. He is a good person, and I'm sure he'll be the best hero possible, if he's willing to learn his lesson."
And with that, she continued onto other examples, though none made quite an impact. Once the seminar was over, Adrien left it feeling as if he had been scraped raw. He knew that he had some apologizing to do.
That night, as he went out for patrol, he quickly caught sight of Ladybug making her way over Paris. He quickly joined her, meeting her on top of the Eiffel Tower.
Ladybug was silent, arms crossed as she stared out at Paris, her jaw set in a hard line.
"Chat-" She began, but was quickly cut off.
"I'm sorry." Chat's voice was raw, shaky. It sounded so broken that Ladybug turned to him, eyes wide
"What..?"
"I'm sorry that I hurt you. I'm sorry that I made you so uncomfortable, that I made you feel so helpless, so ridiculed." He couldn't stop the tears that welled up in his eyes as guilt washed over him. "I never meant to hurt you, Ladybug, I swear. I just.. I thought.."
He broke off and put his face on his hands, his shoulders trembling. For the longest time, Ladybug didn't speak, but then she embraced him tightly, gently stroking his back.
"I know, kitty, I know. I... I forgive you." She admitted, hugging him tighter. "I guess I should have sat down with you, has a more serious talk, or.."
Chat Noir shook his head and stepped back, wiping his tears away, and gave her a roguish smile, though it seemed forced.
"No, my l- Ladybug, you're always perfect to me. And I'll try my hardest to be perfect to you." He vowed, setting a hand over his heart.
Ladybug smiled, and she visibly relaxed, as if a big weight had been taken off of her shoulders.
"Silly kitty... Come on, let's get on with out patrol." She grinned at him and then took off. With a soft laugh, Chat Noir followed his partner into the night, awaiting a new dawn.

Maribat au - big sis tomb raider mari
(Salt not Adrien friendly)
- the prelude -
• same as cannon only the temple is never brought back in feast, the building itself is brought back but the monks are gone Mari may be a powerful ladybug because she’s a true holder but they’ve been dead for a century and she has a cap on her powers because of her age (Chloé also only leaves for about a month or two)
•before fu goes bonk he actually teaches mari some shit abt the miraculous and the order. (The language, history and as much magic as he can)
•after she becomes the guardian she no longer has the time for class drama and resigns as class pres
•she can also train with past guardians and holders of any miraculous that she’s used (only ones that have died already so in this au not hippolyta or Alfred)
•she throws herself into finding out who hawkmoth is because now she has a secret order to rebuild and she’s done with not being able to cry
•she tells chat noir at their next battle to shape up after he almost gets her killed because stealing a kiss is more important than the battle at hand
•chat throws a fit and doesn’t show up for a while(how long is up to the writer)
• during all of this we still have lila and her classmates being dickheads so she has to deal with being all alone cause Adrien doesn’t have her back and she knows this because it’s been months and he hasn’t helped her once
•mari gets close to a previous ladybug who teaches her how to remain herself while putting up a front to intimidate the enemy (she uses this to appear disinterested in lila and her classmates effectively telling them fuck off idc what you think)
•after Lila says that marinette pushed her down the stairs again mari gets harmed in some way and decides to take tomoe up on her offer to learn fencing (as a result she and Kagami get closer)
•mari brings up wanting to be able to carry a self defense weapon on her person at all times but also doesn’t want to carry something like a taser or a knife so Kagami suggests war fans
•mari is like hell yea because a. She’s now closer to her culture and b. They look sick and she’s been wanting a style change for some time now
•Chloé is back at this point and sees what’s happening in the class and is like wtf
•while away she decided to improve herself so when she sees this she begrudgingly is like fuck it alliance
•mari and Chloé after an apology and a few tenative weeks become friends
•they have their style change together we now have techwear and occasional soft girl mari who constantly has a fan on her that matches with her outfit
•thanks to her training with the Tsurugis she now has an excuse for being so well versed in self defense
•she makes Chloé and Kagami permant holders and while Luka always has sass on him she only tells him to transform when she’s positive she needs him (watching your friends die time and time again and having the future of everything weigh on you being able to turn back time is stressful and she doesn’t want to fuck Luka up like fu fucked her up)
•at this point mari has also gotten closer to aurore who starts to run a blog once the ladyblog goes to shit and gets the turtle
•unlike the others she’s a hero whose focused on the citizens, she gets them to saftey and defends them if they get caught up in a battle rather than fighting Akumas directly
•chat noir hasn’t been present in any battles so they’re easier for mari and it reduces her stress over it
•they discover gabriel is hawkmoth (how it is is up to the writer)
•they have a showdown in which chat defends Gabriel because ‘he could never be hawkmoth what are you doing’
•because of this mari now has both the ladybug and the black cat miraculous on her during the fight with hawkmoth
•she ends up having to use both at the same time bacause training or not that power cap is a bitch when she’s fighting two people who don’t have it
•divine being mari because the two miraculous if not used to make a wish will just transfer the power it would take to make the wish into whoever combined them
•she beats hawkmoth and says fuck it hands him and Mayura over to the cops and peace’s out
•she doesn’t take back the miraculous from her team only Adrien gabe and nath
•she then chills out for the remainder of the school year and decides to visit the temple during the summer
•(wether she told her parents about everything or got disowned is up to you)
•by this point mari has made plenty of money as mdc and can afford to just fuck off to Tibet and rent an apartment for the summer
•(if she goes alone or with someone else is up to you)
•she spends the summer recovering all that she can from the temple (scrolls, additional miraculous, a grimoire that all guardians use)
•so by the time she returns to France for her senior year she’s got a good grip on magic and what she needs to do starting with recovering a box of miraculous that was apparently lost before the temple even fell
•she works with the others to pinpoint where they could be (museums, ruins, family heirlooms, buried under centuries of dirt, at a thrift or jewelry shop)
•eventually she ends up in Gotham for her senior trip
•where she gets caught up in a two face/scarecrow attack at Wayne enterprises (dick was leading the tour so he can’t get away to nightwing and Damien stuck around because it was either help with the tour or school and he fucking hates it there)
•she slips away and transforms (pleas e I’m begging for a costume change the onzie is hella ugly)
•comes back and kicks ass fixes the damage so no one needs the actual cure to fear toxin and peace’s out again
•she ends up doing it a few more times while she’s there somehow always around Damien/Robin (hes like 12-13)
•she nails him out of a bad joker situation (use your imagination) and he’s like yes my sister my hella suspicious sister I’ve adopted you now 😌
• so that’s how she ends up eating dinner in her ladybug get up with the Wayne’s
•she decides to go to college at gotham academy cause Gotham needs healing and there’s more than one miraculous in this town
•so now here she is tellin robin/Damien that she’ll be back in like a week or two because she needs to get everything in Paris sorted out before she chills here
•(wether they know ladybug = marinette is up to you)
•she goes back to Paris to finish out the school year going back to Gotham on the weekends to heal it the best she can and hang out with her cool murder baby brother
•she gets along with Jason the best after Damien cause it’s fun to fuck shit up with someone who is just as chaotic as you but slightly adjacent
•no romantic parings with any of the batfam cause she sees them all as her family (if she has a romantic thing going on with someone it’s probably with Chloé cause I’m a hoe for Chloénette)
•eventually Damien has a really bad day and he calls her at what he’s to be 1 am because he almost killed someone again and he just wants to be distracted from it
•so mari takes him to some old ruins she was planing on going to
•que Damien coming into the dinning room the next day with a magic sword and looking surprisingly content
•now mari is just the cool tomb raider sister who will takes Damien ruins when he’s feeling down hands him some cookies and let him sleep over
•eventually she gets caught stealing from a museum and now Bruce is talking about what a bad influence she is on Damien and how she’s not allowed to see him anymore and she’s like 😦
•ends up explaining everything (if they didn’t know her identity before they know it now)
•and Bruce is like wow shit do you need a parental figure
•mari now has been officially adopted as a Wayne
And there it is tomb raider mari. Idk if people are interested i could write an actual fic or go into more detail on certain parts

Dear Hot Stuff (Adrienette)
Adrinette April 2020 - Day 7 Letters |  AO3
Hope you all like it!
< previous | next > | Support Me on Ko-fi
@adrinetteapril
Marinette was going to kill Alya.
“Hey!” Alya exclaimed as she dodged another swing from her best friend. “He was going to find out one way or another!”
“He-“ she slapped her arm. “Was not-“ another swipe dodged. “Going to-“ another. “Find out.”
“Okay girl, I’m not your punching bag,” Alya exclaimed, grabbing hold of Marinette’s hands before she could land another hit.
“I can’t believe you did that, Alya,” Marinette cried out after she put her arms back by her sides.
“You wrote the letter, what else was I supposed to do?” Alya countered.
“Uh, not send it!”
Marinette hadn’t meant for the letter to get out, she prayed that she’d forgotten to sign it, again. But luck never was on her side when it came to love.
“Then don’t write his entire address on the envelope and add a stamp.”
“Ugh, you are not helping,” Marinette groaned as she collapsed onto her chaise. “What am I supposed to do once Adrien has read it? I called him hot in there, oh no, I called him hot! Alya, I can’t go to school tomorrow and show my face around him!”
“Chill girl, postage takes like 3 days so you can just stop going then,” Alya added over a mouth full of cookie. She wasn’t being helpful. Marinette watched as her friend helped herself to another cookie from the plate on her desk. “Besides Adrien already knows he’s hot, the entire female population of Paris thinks he’s hot. What difference does it make coming from you?”
“Adrien isn’t friends with the entire female population of Paris! I don’t want him to think I’m using him, or obsessed with him like Lila o-or Chloé. ”
Alya raised an eyebrow at her before reaching above her head and pulling out Adrien’s schedule.
“That’s called being a good friend!” Marinette said although she knew her friend was right.
“Okay Miss 'Good Friend' you’re also like the best person I know, Adrien would be crazy not to love you back.”
“You better hope you’re right,” she replied, suddenly sitting up and fixing a glare at her friend. “Or Nino will have to save your butt.”
Alya confidently grinned before popping another cookie into her mouth.
🐞
The postal service in Paris wasn’t amazing, but by day three of the letter going out and still no noise from Adrien Agreste on that front, Marinette was getting anxious. He hasn’t acted out of the ordinary at school, nor had he made any obvious attempts at letting her down easy. So the designer was pretty confident that the letter just hadn’t reached him yet. It didn’t stop her worrying.
In fact, she was so stressed out by the letter that she went to the only other person she could trust.
“You called, m’lady?” The cat in question asked after having touched down next to her on a rooftop. He caught her hand and raised it to his lips in his customary greeting. She smiled at him in reply. Sometimes it was nice just to have the simple things make sense still.
“Okay...” Chat Noir started, a frown appearing briefly on his face. “What’s up? You’ve never not shrugged me off before.”
Ladybug looked back down at where her hand was still in her partner’s grip and shook herself out of it. “Sorry, just got something on my mind.”
She moved over to the roof’s edge and took a seat. He joined her without any hesitation and thankfully waited for her to make the first step in the conversation.
“I may have confessed to the boy I like,” she finally admitted after about five minutes of watching the skyline. He leaned back and looked at her curiously. “I know, I know, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologise, Ladybug, I’ve known your affections lie with another for a long while now. Did it not go well?” He asked gently. If Marinette hadn’t already fallen for Adrien then she was certain Chat Noir was too selfless for her not to fall for him eventually.
“Not that it didn’t go well per se...” she began. Her fingers began to tap on her knee. “I just don’t know what he thinks about it yet.”
“Did he ask you to wait??” Chat Noir was very direct so she wasn’t surprised at the shock in his voice.
“No, no, I sent a letter, well my friend sent my letter,” she explained. “It hasn’t reached him yet, and it was like super embarrassing.”
“Oh, surely it can’t be that bad,” he placed a hand on hers to calm the tapping down. “Did you tell him you want to jump his bones every time you look at him? Call him the very reason for your existence, or tell him you worship the ground he walks on?”
She let out a cry of frustration causing him to jump. “I might as well have.” He let out a laugh which she glared at.
“No come on, Bugaboo, what did you say that was as bad as that?” Chat asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, both to keep himself from laughing and to stop her from flinging herself off the roof from embarrassment.
She covered her face with her hands and hung her head. “I may have called him ....”
“Sorry, what was that?”
“I said ....”
“Try again, Bug.”
“Hot stuff! I called him hot stuff, okay?” She exclaimed, she took a big breath before continuing. “I wrote about how I’ve loved him since he gave me his umbrella, about how I still keep pictures of him all over my bedroom, how I wished I could have the real thing in my room, and many many other embarrassing things I’ve planned for our future.”
The arm around her shoulder just squeezed her tighter into the boy next to her. But from the shaking next to her she could tell he was holding back a laugh.
“Yeah okay, laugh all you want.”
“As long as you didn’t tell him the name of your kids I think your all good,” the blond grinned at her. She looked up at him through her fingers still covering her face. “You didn’t...?”
“Emma, Hugo and Louis,” she admitted. “Ugh, the world is ending. That's it, just throw me into the Seine and leave me to drown.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll give a great speech at your funeral.” He put his hand on his chest in mock sincerity. She pushed him in response and he laughed. “But seriously, Bug, I still think he’s stupid not to love you back.”
“Thanks, Chat if only he took it as well as you have,” she sighed. “Guess we better get on with patrol.”
He held onto her hand and stopped her from standing up. “Can we stay like this for a while? I think we could both do with a more relaxing evening.”
She looked at him fondly, “on one condition, tomorrow night we race to the Louvre.”
“Deal.”
🐞
The following morning, the nerves were still as prevalent as ever. Marinette tried to focus on eating her breakfast before school but to no avail. Her thought kept drifting to how many different ways Adrien was going to reject her today. He could storm up to her in class with the letter in his hand and push it back into her own hands. He could read it out loud to the class and embarrass her, and then everyone could laugh. He could give it to Chloé, no, that would be just evil, he’d never do that. But he could reject her in front of the whole class. He could ignore her all morning and then reject her at lunch in front of the whole school. He could post the letter on his Instagram and reject her in front of the whole world. Then she’d never be able to get married because everyone would know she was the crazy girl who planned out a whole future with Adrien Agreste.
“Marinette it’s time to go are you ready for school?” Her mother called up the stairs. Dragging herself from her chair, she grabbed her purse and a couple of cookies for Tikki.
Out of all her scenarios that had run through her head of what to expect from Adrien this morning, seeing him chatting to her parents in the bakery was not one of them. He caught sight of her and bid goodbye to them before making his way over to her. She attempted to make her way to her parents before he had the chance but saw her mum shooing her away. She sighed and turned to face Adrien.
“Adrien! What a surprise to see you here,” she said, her face instantly heating up when he reached her.
“Good morning, Mari,” he replied, greeting her with a customary kiss on the cheek. Even that caused her breath to hitch. He leaned back and scratched the back of his neck. “Did you want to walk to school together?”
“I-um, you- yes!” She blurted out.
“Great!” He grabbed her elbow and turned them both toward the school and began walking.
Marinette was silent as she wondered what Adrien could be planning as they walked to school. Of course, she didn’t think about the possibility of him wanting to reject her in private. Now she was going to have to deal with that.
“I got your letter,” he began. She froze up and stopped walking. He must have sensed it as he turned around to face her. She kept her head facing the ground. “Hey, Mari, look at me.”
“I never meant for you to read it!” Marinette spoke up, her hands began to tap against her legs again.
“I know.”
“You- what?” She looked up sharply.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to throw you in the Seine and leave you to drown because you wrote me a love letter,” he winked at her. She frowned, those words sounded familiar but she couldn’t quite place them.
“Why would you-“
“I mean at least you didn’t call me the very reason for your existence, or tell me you worship the ground I walk on. Or say you want to jump my bones every time you look at me.” He reached out to grab hold of both of her hands. “You better not brush me off this time.” And he brought them both to his lips to kiss.
She took a sharp intake of breath. Looking at him from this angle she could see the mischievous glint in his eye when he looked at her. The way his hands held onto hers she could almost feel the claws that were supposed to be on the ends on his fingers. Almost see the tail swishing behind him.
“M’lady.”
She nearly fainted. Adrien was standing in front of her. No, Chat Noir was standing in front of her kissing her hands and she wasn’t pulling back. She stared wide-eyed at him until he laughed and brought her forward in a crushing hug.
“I’m so glad it’s you,” he whispered into her ear. Slowly, she moved her arms to wrap around him too. Her face was probably bright red so she buried it into his chest. “I’m also glad you want to, how did you put it in the letter? Kiss me every time you see me?”
“You stupid cat,” she said, muffled by his shirt. He laughed again but this time she smiled into his chest. Gradually, she pulled herself out of his embrace, despite knowing her blushing would be very obvious. “We’ll be late.”
He didn’t let her get too far away before his hand was tilting her chin and he was bringing her lips to meet his. The world seemed to stop and all the worries from this morning were erased as she melted into his embrace. She could hear the birds chirping in the park next to them and the sound of her heart beating like crazy in her ears. Adrien pulled back to breathe and kissed her once, twice again before removing his hand from her face and trailing it down to meet her hand. She blinked a couple of times, bringing herself back to reality. Faintly, she could hear their school bell ringing.
“Come on, we need to get to school or we really will be late.” She squeezed his hand tight and pulled him along behind her.
She’d have to remember to thank Alya with a visit from Ladybug.

Bio!Mom Max Black Headcanons
Two Broke Girls x MLB crossover
Based on this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Caroline's movie about her life story was starting production Caroline finally had the courage to tell Max how she felt
The two dated for 4 months before Max decided they should marry
Mostly because she's known Caroline for so long that she literally knows she wants her as her wife
They were going to elope but Caroline told her dad which ended with Max being told by Martin he wanted his princess to be properly married
Sophie helped with the wedding not caring about the price
Caroline and Max got married at the prison where Martin was in so that Martin can give away Caroline and watch her get married
Of course, the news and paparazzi got wind of it and so much to Max's annoyance, the wedding was live streamed
They decided to just add the other's last name instead of one taking the other's
Caroline wore this with her hair in small side braid
Tumblr media
Max wore this with her hair in a bun with a few curls framing her face.
Tumblr media
Earl walked Max down the "isle"
Martin fought the urge to cry seeing his only daughter get married
He was glad that it was Max really
After a year of being married Caroline quietly mumbled as they cuddled
"Do you think about having kids?"
After a bit of talking they decided to use a sperm donor although, her twin cousin Darcy was able to get Bruce Banner to use both Max and Caroline eggs and the sperm donor to make the baby
Caroline was the one to carry the baby
A month before the baby was born their business boomed because of Caroline's movie and they eventually had a good business
They have a baby girl who they name Marinette Cathy Channing-Black
She had Caroline's eyes and Max's hair
Of course, Sophie wants to be the godmother, but Max puts her foot down that it would most likely be her cousin
Much to Caroline's shock Tony Stark is their daughter's godfather
Pepper is her godmother
As Marinette grows up she likes to watch her mom bake
She learns Korean from her uncle Han
Earl babysits whenever her moms are busy
Earl is her grandpa who she and Max consider him her dad
The cupcake business rises and they're very successful
Caroline is glad they finally left the crappy apartment
Caroline eventually is told by her father that she has an uncle who lives in Paris
It's Gabriel Agreste
Caroline is an Agreste in her mother's side really
And that he's the half sibling of Audrey Bourgeois
Audrey made Andre take her last name
Basically making her a Bourgeois through her father
This is when Mari is 13 years old and they decide to expand the cupcake business to Paris, France
Marinette is both excited and annoyed to move mostly because she won't be around to annoy uncle Tony or any of the Avengers
Marinette was almost the spitting image of her mother Max from her pale complexion to her hair, but she had Caroline's eyes and physic
When they get to Paris Caroline sets a meeting with both Gabriel and Audrey
Of course the two are shocked at the news that they're related through marriage
The reason being because Caroline's mom is Gabriel's sister and Martin is Audrey's older half brother
Making both of them Marinette's great uncle/aunt
And basically making two certain blondes her cousins
As well a certain cousin of said one of the blondes
Marinette is a mix of both her moms
She's sweet but very sarcastic and just...kinda like Max
The small Channing-Black family live in a decent comfortable home, not too flashy
Audrey brings Chloé over and Chloé is shocked to hear she has relative, she's somewhat excited
And Chloé is just...shocked to find out she's related to Adrien, her Adrikins before smiling widely
Chloé actually isn't a bully, she acts like it in school to see how far the stupid teacher would let it go and after she's mean to the ones she was she informs the person on what she was doing so as they don't feel bad
Surprisingly it's a lot and she's getting annoyed that Ms. Bustier won't at least do shit
On the first day of school when the Akuma strikes, much to her surprise Chloé freezes and pees herself before shielding herself behind Mari
"This sounds oddly familiar," the ravenette says giggling before scowling, "hey!"
The akuma strikes before Chloé has a chance to introduce her cousins because Adrien couldn't make it
Mari doesn't get the ladybug miraculous bc she just moved
Doesn't stop Master Fu from giving her the Cat Miraculous
She names herself Chat de Ruelle, Alley Cat
She doesn't keep it a secret from her moms who instantly tells Tony who comes whenever he can to help her train
Her outfit as Chat is similar to Lady Noir but her curls are in a messy bun and her mask covers her whole face except her mouth
It also has body armor and spikes on her wrists, tail, and elbows
She got Caroline's clumsiness but mostly that she has things fall on her or anything really but shes's not overly clumsy
On the second day of school she meets Adrien and she and Chloé practically ambush him and tell him that they're related
This makes Adrien happy but is somewhat confused before Mari informs him on how so
Mari is basically done with Ms. Bustier on the first day, complains to her moms who basically storm into the classroom to give her a piece of their mind
Does not help that Chloé turned in the evidence to the school board
Ms. Bustier quits before being informed she is not allowed to teach at all anymore
Adrien does become friends with Nino but not with Alya since Mari sits behind Chloé and Sabrina
Mari only becomes friends with Nathaniel and Nino
As the 3 cousins hang out she basically takes them wherever and causes trouble to the delight of her mom Max and to Caroline's concern
Caroline, Max, and Amilie basically threaten Gabriel to treat Adrien better
Although, Caroline and Max instantly adopt him
Max, Mari's mom, told Adrien that he reminded her of those two Amish boys who stayed with them for a week at the apartment
Chestnut came too by the way
Adrien doesn't flirt with Chat while he is Mister Bug because they're bffs
Max's cupcake shop is outside the school because Caroline wanted Mari to go to Dupont
Alya and Lila Salt
Alya is never told by Mari what her last name is, she usually doesn't pay attention to anyone else's name once her name is called but Mari has told her cousins and friend when addressing her to go by Black
So to the rest of the class she's known as Marinette Black
So she of course doesn't get an interview with Mister Bug because Chat told him not to because she doesn't trust the girl, she screams of wanting to be famous no matter what
Alya doesn't care for cupcakes the audacity
When Lila comes around she speaks about being a family friend of the Channing family
Bad luck for her is that Max and Caroline came to drop of Marinette at school much to her embarrassment
And Max basically ripped the Rossi girl a new one not caring who watched
Alya is shocked to see THE Caroline Channing at school
"How do you know Caroline Channing and Max Black? The great cupcake bakers?!" she screeches to Mari
"I'd like it if you don't speak to our daughter that way Ms. Césaire, please? We don't tolerate harassment from tabloid reporters," Caroline says gently while Max eyes the glasses wearing girl
"D...daughter?" Alya stutters before glaring at Marinette who rolls her eyes
"You're looking at me as if I killed your dog, they're my moms. My whole name is Marinette Cathy Channing-Black."
Everyone in the class sort of new because they always went to the cupcake shop after school
Lila does try her shit but Mari shrugs her off
Lila tries to hang off of Adrien but both Caroline and Max shut that shit down and tell Gabriel to get a restraining order on the Rossi girl as well a threat of lawsuit
Might make more and make this Maribat really idk yet

 Everyone has a breaking point. The point where people just… snap.
 “Wait what? You’re breaking up with me over rumours?”
 “Kim, how can I trust you when you run off all the time?”
 Sometimes it takes a while- the snapping point hard to find.
 “Markov?!? Markov?!?”
 “Oops. Well, maybe next time don’t bully Lila.”
 Sometimes there’s a lead up to the point.
 “You’re making me shut down my blog? Mom! Dad!”
 “We can’t trust you!”
 Sometimes there isn’t.
 “I’ve been blacklisted from every DJ event in Paris because Lila claimed I was harassing her.”
 Sometimes you’ve been on edge for years and years.
 “Mother, I wish to-“
 “You have fencing practice Kagami. You have no other reason to go to school.”
Sometimes no one sees you screaming.
 “Luka I know that we were going to do it this way but Lila says that this sounds better so we need you to rewrite all the music okay?”
 Sometimes you’ve already broken but you just need to get shoved that one last inch.
 “Chlorine, we’re having another baby. We’ll do it right this time.”
 Sometimes you know you’re almost broken.
 “My dad’s just busy Plagg. He’ll come eat with me soon.”
 And other times… you don’t even see the edge.
 “Mama, Papa- I didn’t do it! Lila is framing me!”
 “I didn’t bully her!”
 “I’m sorry I can’t do it for free…”
 “Please stop…”
And you just… snap.

 Walking down the hall was Marinette, dressed to kill in a black pantsuit. She wore a pair of high blood red heels and strutted down the hall like she owned the place, her pixie cut and blood-red lips setting the tone. Earrings on her ears seemed to cackle with dark energy as she strutted.
 Behind her were Kagami and Kim. Kagami wore a similar suit to Marinette but without heels and no suit jacket, a sword strapped to her waist. Her suit vest was red instead of the black Marinette had. The collar around her throat cackled with dark energy.
 Kim wore a dress shirt and slacks. Both were a little ruffled and his hair was in it’s normal shape but wasn’t dyed anymore. A strange circlet around his head cackled with the same dark energy Kagami and Marinette had. They approached a door where Luka and Max waited. Luka wore a black leather jacket with snakes all over it, more piercings then ever in his face. His hair was the same, and around his wrist, a bracket crackled with darkness. Max wore a black turtleneck and black jeans, his hair in dreadlocks pulled back. Dark sunglasses rested on his nice, glowing with energy.
 “He talking?” Asked Marinette.
 “Not a word,”Luka replied. Marinette sighed.
 “Pity. He was a good underling.” She poured a little before she opened the door, stepping in to find Chloe standing in the middle of the room with only a pair of black pants and a yellow bra on. She was also covered in blood, her hair in a tight braid with a hairpiece glittering with darkness. With her was a potty man broken and bruised.
 “Oh, hey Bug.” Chloé smiled, showing off all her teeth. “He’s not talking. So not fun.”she pouts at the man who snarls at her.
 “I ain’t sayin’ nothin’!”
 “Benny, Benny, Benny.” Marinette sighed, sashaying to the man. “Aren’t I a good boss? Aren’t I a fair one? Didn’t I give you all a chance when I took over this area?” Benny just glared at her. She pouted. “Why go to the police?”
 “You’re fucking crazy you bitch.” He snapped. “You and all your little friends. You were heroes once!”
 “And you’re a two-bit drug dealer who decided to tattle to the police,” Marinette replied. “You know the English saying? Snitches get stitches?” She smirked. “In your case, snitches get the cat.” Benny frowned before a low growl filled the air. A black-suited man in leather dropped from the rafters. It was Chat Noir, and his entire body was covered in the dark energy bits of jewelry have.
 Benny started screaming when Chat held up one hand covered in darkness. He kept screaming even as the hand was pressed to him and he decayed.
 “The police are onto us now,” Chloé remarked as she went to grab a towel place far away from the splatter. She began cleaning herself off casually. “Where next boss?”
 “Fox and Turtle are already in our new position,” Marinette replied.
 “Where?” Max asked. “I’ll need to divert funds and get us a base.”
 “Gotham. All they’ve got is humans running around trying to save the city.” Marinette responded. The others nodded as Chat spunk over to her, leaning into her. “Hey, Kitty. Can I see Plagg?” Chat whined a little, pouting but nodded. Light appeared around him, leaving Adrien behind. The man was only wearing black pants and a ring that crackled with energy. He blinked, eyes unfocused.
 “Here Kitty,” Chloe said, picking up a blanket. “I’ve got your blanket.” Adrien moved like a cat to go to her, the movement showing off a wound in his side, sealed shut with sickly darkness. Marinette turned to the Kwami left behind, the little being grinning with energy lighting off him.
 “Sup Bug?” the Kwami asked.
 “Making sure you’re alright. He’s been pretty Kitty for a while.” Marinette told the Kwami who shrugged.
 “It’s alright. It’s helping him adjust after everything. But I would like some cheese.” Marinette snorted and nodded to Luka who pulled out a small case of food from his pocket. Tikki slipped from Marinette’s pocket herself, the Kwami much darker in colour then she had ever been before.
 “We’re going to have fun in Gotham Marinette.” The Kwami laughed. Marinette joined in.
 “Oh, we will.”

Everyone has a breaking point.
 “Father?!?”
 “Chat! You monster! You nearly killed your own son!”
 You can break in your own…
 “No, I’m done. I’m done with you and with everyone else.”
 Or you drag others down with you.
 “No you won’t. Not our kids. We refuse to go with you or give them up.”

Kim Possible AU
In which Marinette is in gymnastics, is childhood friends with Adrien, and somehow became an agent-for-hire when someone accidentally dialed her number to call for help instead of actual, professionally trained agents. That’s right, they called a preteen for help, didn’t have the time to call anyone else, and rolled with it.
Also Adrien is a total goofball with a hairless cat. He still has both his parents, who start out overprotective but gradually loosen the reigns when it becomes clear that his friend will keep him safe.
(The reason I put gymnastics and not cheerleading is because I’m pretty sure that’s an exclusively American thing? Besides, gymnastics kind of makes more sense, skillset-wise.)
Origins
     • Marinette took gymnastics since she was seven, mainly because her clumsiness had been turning into a bit of a problem. (Parents start to get worried when their child’s having genuine physical difficulty in not hurting themselves. They thought gymnastics would help her learn balance, and also allow her to burn off some of her natural childlike energy.) By the age of eleven, Marinette is the best in her class, and is thinking about entering competitions.
     • Adrien is Marinette’s childhood best friend. Along with gymnastics, Marinette also started taking ballet, which is where the two met. Adrien was taking ballet because both his parents had taken it, and also because he thought it would be fun. Since he’d been taking it longer than Marinette, he helped her out in class, and the two have been inseparable ever since.
     • Adrien helped Marinette build a website to help get her name out there when they were eleven. They took videos of her doing a couple moves, and added a contact number. Unfortunately, (or, rather fortunately, actually,) Marinette’s number is very similar to a number for a group of agents who do pretty dangerous, life-saving jobs.
     • Marinette’s first call is from a man requesting for help at a rather big bank in Paris, not far from her house. Being eleven, she doesn’t really understand that this is probably something she should inform the police, rather than handle herself. So, she and Adrien (who she sneaks out of his house) rush over, and save the day themselves.
     • Adrien had videotaped the impressive gymnastics Marinette had pulled off in order to safely get through the security lasers and shut them off. After that video was posted, she started getting calls on a much more regular basis, all from people in need of help. It wasn’t the sort of attention she was looking for when making the website, but she can’t deny she doesn’t love her new job.
The Present
     • By the ages of 16, Marinette and Adrien have travelled all over the world, gaining favors from a bunch of grateful individuals, and are pretty dang famous. They aren’t necessarily given special privileges at school, but if things are urgent, then they’re allowed to leave and makeup missing work online.
     • Adrien is still a model, still plays piano, still takes Chinese, and still does a lot of different sports. On his own, he’s actually pretty famous. However, in this world, it’s pretty much impossible for him to display the ‘perfect, gentlemanly son’ persona when most of the world has seen videos of him screaming at the top of his lungs, running around in his underwear because somehow his pants got pulled off again. Yeah, he’s a straight A student with the classic, rich people training, but he’s still an utter dork and everyone knows it.
     • Marinette, while still taking gymnastics, has lost interest in making it a life career when she already sort of does it already. She’s picked up other interests, one of them being fashion design when Adrien had introduced her to what goes on behind the scenes in his workplace. She’s good at designing stylish, yet very practical outfits, and made uniforms for herself and Adrien for their ‘side jobs’ as agents-for-hire.
     • While Adrien isn’t necessarily incompetent, he’s more of the ‘do first, think later’ type of guy when it comes to their dynamic, which often leaves Marinette to do the planning and problem-solving. At this point, it’s kind of abundantly obvious that, while Adrien is academically more profound, Marinette is vastly more analytical, and probably has a ridiculously high IQ if they ever bothered to check.
     • There isn’t a main villain. Papillion doesn’t exist because Gabriel is completely aware of what his son is doing, still has his darling wife, and has literally no reason to waste his money on illegal activities. He’s a big name in the fashion world, it’s not like he’s looking for world domination or something stupid like that.
     • (I’m sure you’re wondering why the fuck Gabriel Agreste would let his only son go off on dangerous adventures like that on a daily. Well, he didn’t at first, but over time Marinette proved to be a more effective bodyguard than Adrien’s actual bodyguard, so he became more chill. Also, Adrien’s the face of his company, and with all the brave and daring things he’s done alongside Marinette, his popularity ratings are through the roof. Son has fun, is well-taken care of, still performs exceptionally in all his extracurriculars, and does well by the family business? It’s a win-win on all sides.)
     • I would make Lila Shego, except Shego is an actually likeable villain who’s genuinely smart, badass, and fun to watch. So, idk who Shego is, definitely not any of the catty girl rivals Marinette has to put up with, but you can’t have a Kim Possible AU without Shego, so she’s definitely in there.
     • Max is probably Wade. Honestly makes the most sense, but here’s a suggestion: Max and Kim are the ones who contact Marinette when she has a mission. Max is great with numbers, technology, etc, but Kim’s expertise in completely random shit like sports, terrain, and necessary gear needed for specific situations makes him a valuable asset to the team.
     • We all know who Chloé is going to be, I don’t even need to say it but I will anyways. Say hello to our Bonnie, everyone. She was probably in that ballet class with Marinette and Adrien too, years ago.
     • While Tom Dupain is still a baker, in this AU Sabine Cheng went on to pursue her dream as a literal rocket scientist, and succeeded. So, Sabine is basically Dr. James Timothy Possible.
     • Adrien has a hairless cat named Plagg. His father is allergic to fur, and Adrien’s allergic to feathers, so he was sort of limited to pets like fish or lizards, neither of which he really wanted. He found Plagg outside gorging himself on camembert by a dumpster. Having been previously a street cat, Plagg’s growth was stunted, so he stayed pretty small.
     • Luka is obviously Josh Mankey. Marinette and Luka date for a while, but eventually break up on mutual terms due to him not being able to handle some of the dangerous things that pop up in her life often. While he doesn’t panic when things go south, he’s not really physically equipped to protect himself... He’s a musician, not a fighter.
     • Listen, y’all can fight me, Marinette’s longest relationship before finally getting together with Adrien is going to be with Kagami. Kagami handles the dangerous things that go on in Marinette’s life perfectly well, and they date for several months. Eventually, they do break up, but still remain good friends. (This is the period in which Adrien realises he’s jealous of Kagami, and has feelings for Marinette.)
Get Together
     • For those of you who haven’t watched Kim Possible, (and honestly what the hell are you even doing with your life if you haven’t,) Kim and Ron get together at a school dance (prom, but I don’t think prom exists in France,) and share a slow dance with each other. Uhhh so basically think Despair Bear, except Adrien and Marinette are wearing fancy clothes, just got together, and share a kiss in the end.
     • Marinette had recently broken up with Kagami before the dance, and is a little upset over not having a date when she already made herself a dress. Adrien is dealing with his realisation that he likes Marinette romantically, but keeps quiet about it and gives her a shoulder to cry on because she’s hurt, and he’s not going to take advantage of that. He suggests they go to the dance together as friends.
     • Kagami is there, and Adrien confronts her as to why she had broken up with the most amazing girl in Paris. She tells him that she came to the conclusion that, though she loved Marinette with all her heart, Marinette clearly had someone else as her #1. Kagami was sick of having to compete for that position when the other person didn’t even need to try. Adrien is left baffled by this.
     • Marinette overhears this as she’s walking over to ask Adrien for a dance. Kagami looked past Adrien’s shoulder, directly into Marinette’s eyes, and smiled knowingly. Then she walked away, sipping at her drink.
     • Adrien turns around, pretty green eyes latching onto hers, and Marinette immediately understands what Kagami had meant. A slow song comes on, and she asks him to dance. Things fall in place from there.
     • (Of course, after they’ve kissed and become a couple, some dumb villain is going to inevitably crash the party and try to kill Marinette, as usual, but they deal with it like they always do.)
Alright that’s the end! This was an almost completed draft of mine I had, and since I’ve been lacking on content recently, I thought I’d quickly polish this up a bit and post it. I also have some other completed things I could polish up on, but eh, don’t feel like it right now. Enjoy!
(And maybe tell me how you’d imagine your favourite KP episode would go with Marinette and Adrien as the protagonists instead!)

A Miraculous Sorting
(I’m writing this under the Christmas tree’s lights, because they take a lot less power than my room’s actual lights, and if I’m going to throw an all-nighter today, I want the electricity bill to be as cheap as possible.)
 You know something I really love? Pulling a Sorting Hat at random times. You’ll see me making a sandwich and rambling to myself as to why Rivaille Ackerman is a Hufflepuff. You’ll see me doing the dishes and quietly wondering why Mabel Pines is a Gryffindor. You’ll see me taking a shower and just arguing with myself about whether Ciel Phantomhive is a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin.
 The fact is: I love Harry Potter with all my soul and I’ll take any opportunity I get to sort random characters into Hogwarts Houses.
 So I thought to myself: hey, why not make a post about it? Mixing my most recent Thing-I-Won’t-Shut-Up-About-For-a-Few-Monthstm (Miraculous Ladybug) and my unexplainable need to analyse characters and put them in Hogwarts? Sounds cool to me. And that’s why you’re reading this. Also, I’m bored.
 Anyway, let’s get to it!
 Warning: be aware of Spoilers! If you haven’t finished Season 3, I’m afraid you’ll find a buzzling nest of spoilers here, so do be careful!
 Warning 2: Sorting is a very sensitive thing and can be interpreted in many ways. This is how I interpret it. Feel free to disagree, I’d love to discuss different opinions!
Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug – Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
 This was an easy one. Despite her clumsiness and social awkwardness – which make her look a lot more air-headed than she actually is –, Marinette is a perfect match for Ravenclaw!
 First of all, we’ve been signed over and over again in the show to how she’s quick-witted, resourceful and strategic, and has got incredible problem-solving skills – even if she’s terrible at managing her time. Practically every episode shows us how quick she is to come up with plans to defeat the villains and how she always makes most of what she has – the Lucky Charm may be the most ridiculous object in the world, she’ll always manage to make a use of it.
 Not only as Ladybug, but also in her normal daily life, Marinette seems to be able to strategize and negotiate very well. Take as a few examples: how she manages to hide with Adrien using various strategies (Gorizilla); how she talks to Roland and convinces him to come visit Tom in his birthday (Bakerix); how she hides and runs away with Kagami and Adrien using various diversions (Heart Hunter/Loveater); how she pulls her – in my opinion – most brilliant and convoluted plan to retrieve Tikki and Plagg and keep her identity hidden (Kwami Buster). I mean, we get distracted by her silly shenanigans every now and again, but this girl has some pretty smart moves!
 She also operates the team work most of the time, directing when and where to use her fellow heroes’ powers. Not to mention she’s the one to choose who gets to have which miraculous, and she mostly seems to get it right – in this house, we do not talk about the stupidity that went down with Aspik, thank you very much.
 Furthermore, Marinette is just plain intelligent. She jammed the Wi-Fi signal using a microwave in Lady WiFi; she engineered her own diary-protection device in Darkblade; she made a home-made projector in The Mime; she neutralizes evil perfume with a chemical explosion in Princess Fragrance; she makes a freaking propeller in Glaciator. She was also mentioned in Ladybug (this name doesn’t get confusing at all) to always get good grades.
 As the series goes, Ladybug gets to become a much wiser person. She seems to learn from most of the problems the akumatized victims go through, as well as from her own mistakes – let aside all the Adrien stuff. Yeah.
 Last but not least, Marinette is exceptionally creative. I don’t think I need to exemplify this, do I? I mean… If you haven’t noticed how artistically inclined she is and how she is constantly praised for her creativity as a designer and as a superhero – again, think of the Lucky Charms –, I doubt we’re watching the same show.
 Not necessarily a Ravenclaw trait, but I’ll add it as a bonus: Marinette handles so many responsibilities at the same time, what a multitasker! She is an independent fashion designer, she does small fashion services – as seen in The Mime, for example –, she is a designer for both Kitty Section and (apparently) Jagged Stone, she babysits Manon and Chris, she helps her parents at the bakery, she studies – again, it’s said that she has good grades, so even if she spends a lot of time saving Paris, she also doesn’t lay off at school –, she makes time to keep her friendships together and she has all her responsibilities as Ladybug, and now as a Guardian. This is all some new level of bullshit a 15 year old human being shouldn’t have to deal with. I’m seriously amazed it took her three full seasons to have a breakdown.
Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Ok, this was a bit more difficult. I was seriously torn between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but, after some deep thinking, I believe Hufflepuff is where Adrien belongs!
 Firstly, we’ve seen numerous times how inclusive Adrien is. He was, since day one, willing to give everybody a chance at friendship. This Nino boy I literally just met? My best friend. This Ladybug girl who fell from the sky out of nowhere? I’ll trust her with my life. This girl who hates me because of Chloé? I’ll give her my umbrella and she’s just a friend – Goddamnit Adrien. This Kagami girl I just fenced with and who almost killed me? Friend material right there.
 What makes Adrien’s inclusiveness most clear to me, however, is Lila. Despite everything she does, despite all her constant lying, despite her getting people he loves in trouble, he’s still willing to be her friend. We see in episodes like Chameleon, Oni-chan and Ladybug that he’s always willing to give Lila a second chance, to help her out when she needs it, to extend her the hand of friendship and to let her learn with it, because even if he knows she is a jerk, he still wants include her. Is that a bit of a stupid move at this point? Yes, it is. But we appreciate your try, Adrien.
 Another Hufflepuff trait that this boy has is patience. I mean, he lives with Gabriel Agreste, the cold critical father who shows affection – or any presence, really – only once every few months; he lives with Plagg, the demanding, pestering kwami who’s determined to not give two craps about doing his job; he’s childhood friends with Chloé “the arrogant and annoying and other things I can’t say out loud” Bourgeois; he’s trying to keep good terms with Felix, who’s competing for “most despicable brat of the year”; and he’s “friends” with Lila. All of this can only be handled by an enormously patient person.
 Despite that, Adrien is still somewhat just and fair. This can be seen in Despair Bear, as he says he’ll stop being friends with Chloé if she doesn’t start acting nicer. He also claims he won’t be friends with Lila anymore if she doesn’t get Marinette out of the trouble she caused. It’s also important to note episodes like Riposte, where Adrien’s determined to get a rematch with Kagami due to his believe that her loss was not fair.
 The thing that defines Adrien the most and that made me decide for Hufflepuff in the end, however, is his loyalty. Despite everything to ever come his way, he’s extremely loyal.
 Firstly, he’s loyal to Chloé, his childhood friend and, for the longest time, his only friend. We can see in the second part of the Origins episode that he won’t tell on Chloé’s behaviour because he “can’t throw her under the bus”. He instantly goes back to being her friend after the events of Despair Bear and seems to be the only one to get sad for her almost leaving Paris in Malediktator.
 The person Chat’s the most loyal to is undoubtedly Ladybug. We can see it in multiple instances, as he sacrifices himself in order to protect her in several episodes, stays by her side no matter what and, despite his own desire to know who Ladybug is, doesn’t actually actively try to find her identity (Chat Blanc aside) because that’s what she decided. Even if Chat Noir is constantly portrayed as her mere sidekick and gets the least attention of the duo, he doesn’t show jealousy. He trusts her.
 I’ll refrain from making the “Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders” joke.
Alya Césaire/Rena Rouge – Gryffindor
Tumblr media
 Oh dear… I feel like this one almost reached a Hatstall! It was so hard! Her extreme curiosity and fascination with the world around her made me think of her as a Ravenclaw, while her ambition to get the best information for her blog and connection to the Fox Miraculous – the fox being an animal strongly connected to cunningness – seriously made me think about putting her in Slytherin. But again, after deep thinking, I do think Alya fits incredibly well in Gryffindor!
 Let’s start with the fact that Alya is an icon of bravery. She is daring and determined to the point where she is reckless. She is always ready to jump right into action, no matter how dangerous the situation is. If she can either get interesting footage and information or be of any help at all, she will be there, often putting herself in danger in the process. She rarely ever gets intimidated, nonetheless, showing that she has very strong nerve. This can be seen throughout various episodes, ever since Stoneheart and all the way to Feast!
 It’s safe to say that Alya has also got a sense of nobility, in a certain way. As seen in episodes like Stormy Weather, Sapotis, and Timetagger, this girl’s got a way with kids and is always willing to protect them. Rena Rouge also shows willingness to help save Paris no matter what, as seen in Sapotis and Syren, for example.
 I don’t know if this can be considered nobility as well, but I’ll just leave it here that Alya “Wingwoman” Césaire is a very determined best friend and will do about anything to set Marinette with the boy she loves. I can’t even exemplify this, because this happens way too clearly in almost every episode, folks.
 Well… Say what, I’m still confused about this. Alya confuses me. Does anyone have any comment to help me out with this one, please?
Nino Lahiffe/Carapace – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Ok, I won’t lie: part of this decision is because Nino’s just got too much of that bro vibe for me to imagine him anywhere else. But hear me up, I’ll tell you why he is an amazing Hufflepuff!
 First of all, Nino’s absolutely loyal. He’s loyal to Alya; always willing to protect her with his life – that’s how he got his miraculous, after all! –, but they still act as very good partners, friends and couple, and he recognizes she is strong on her own, too. He’s ready to help her out with her “wingmanning” – I’ll exemplify with Puppeteer 2.0 – and with her Ladybug investigations – as seen in Lady WiFi. They even parkour together in Miraculer! (Sorry, I just need more DJ-WiFi in my life)
 He’s also loyal to Adrien. We’ve seen it in several episodes: how he wants to make his friend happy and let him be free from his very strict household – good examples would be The Bubbler and Party Crasher –, showing that he is fair to his friend. It’s also important to mention episodes like Simon Says where, after the akuma attack happens, Nino’s first instinct is be to make sure Adrien is alright.
 Nino’s also shown himself to be quite loyal to Ladybug, as he never faltered to follow her instructions, even after he gets the Turtle Miraculous.
 His friendship with Adrien and Alya overall shows he’s also very inclusive. I mean, Adrien is friends with Chloé, the most hated girl of all school, but Nino just straight up offers to be his new best friend anyway. And although Alya keeps dragging him around to her messes, as soon as they start to talk and notice they have a lot in common, he falls in love with her (Animan).
 Nino is a hard worker as well. He is seen DJ-ing almost every party that showed up so far, and he showed himself as extremely dedicated to his movie project in Horrificator.
 As a generally laid back guy, Nino can be seen as someone very patient. It is quite difficult to tick him off, therefore it’s rare to see him mad or lashing out at someone. One might say he’s too relaxed at times…
Kagami Tsurugi/Ryuko – Slytherin
Tumblr media
 Ok, first of all: I love Kagami. And I love Slytherin. So if anyone wants to shit on any of them, you’ll have to go through me first! Wands ready, buddy, I’m a duellist and I’m ready to fight!
 Kagami was another difficult one, but mostly because we rarely get to see anything from her personality, given how stoic and reserved she is at the beginning – besides, she’s a newer side character, so obviously she didn’t get to have that much screen time yet. But with what little we’re given, I’ve managed to figure she’d do nicely in Slytherin!
 Let’s start pointing out how ambitious Kagami is: during her first appearance in Riposte, she is determined to get to enter the most prestigious fencing school in Paris, and doesn’t even falter upon the challenge of defeating their most talented student; while episodes like Oni-chan show that she’s ambitious to get Adrien (and finish Lila, but that’s all of us). Her acts as Ryuko also goes to show this, as she’s clearly not willing to back down and is always willing to fight and win.
 However, she is not unfair, as seen again in Riposte, as she accepts her loss to Adrien was fair – it wasn’t, really –, even if it meant not getting what she wanted.
 Although Kagami doesn’t seem to be entirely selfish, she’s one to look after herself (the two are easily mistaken, hence this is seen as a Slytherin “bad trait”). We see it in Desperada, when she ditches fencing class to be able go out with Adrien; in Ikari Gozen, when she disobeys her mother in order to finally make friends; in Loveater, when she comments she doesn’t want to hurt Marinette, but would not give up on Adrien either.
 Ikari Gozen also shows that Kagami is level-headed, a natural leader, and rather cunning, given not only her strategies to deceive her mother in order to play the friendship game, but also her behaviour during the game and as Ryuko. This episode, along with Riposte and Frozer, for example, demonstrates that she strives to be the best at what she does.
 We see it in Animaetro how she doesn’t let herself be intimidated.
Kagami is decided, as seen in Frozer, Desperada and Loveater. She doesn’t hesitate.
Luka Couffaine/Viperion – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Oh, you thought I was going to finish this without sorting my snake boy?
 Easy one. Very easy. Once you put aside the thought of Snake = Slytherin and Blue = Ravenclaw, it gets quite visible how Luka is the perfect Hufflepuff!
 First of: he’s an extremely just person. One of the main themes of the episode Silencer is how he demands justice for his band and friends.
 Luka has also shown himself to be immeasurably selfless. This is seen in basically all of the episodes he has an appearance on, but I’ll name Captain Hardrock (he gives his  guitar pick to Marinette upon seeing that she likes it + stays behind to help her escape The Liberty), Desperada (he puts himself in harm’s way to help Ladybug and Adrien escape + he lets Adrien borrow his guitar without a flinch), Felix (literally everything he says in this episode), Miracle Queen (he sacrifices himself to the evil wasps) and Loveater (the scene where he drops his bicycle and his beloved guitar to comfort Marinette is some symbolic selfless beautiful shit and I’m about to cry).
 In the same theme, he is notably kind. He’s never a hostile person – safe for Silencer, but that was a special occasion – and always seems to greet everyone with a smile and – when he finds them – kind words. I’ll exemplify using Adrien: despite knowing pretty well that Marinette is in love with the model boy, Luka was never once bitter towards him, treats him like any other friend (watch Desperada, Frozer and even Chat Blanc. Watch closely) and even states that he’ll be happy for them if they end up together (Felix).
 I’ll also mention how supportive of a brother he is (Reflekdoll is our main example, though I need more Couffaine Siblings’ interaction, please) and how he gives Marinette a bicycle ride to the Grand Paris Hotel (Loveater) to help her; he didn’t need to do that at all.
 We can see that what he wants the most is for Marinette to be happy, even if it’s not with him. He’s there to support the people he loves no matter what and respects their wants and needs. Take some notes, Chat Noir (ok, kidding. I love you, Chat. But do take notes).
 Luka is the definition of patience. I mean… Let’s talk about Desperada, where, right after he confessed his heart to Marinette, she just ignores him and straight out treats him like trash to favour Adrien (I’m not blaming Mari, tho; I know she’s a confused little bean and didn’t mean any harm). What does he do? He shrugs it off with a smile and keeps his cool unfaltering. Furthermore, he never seems to expect anything from Marinette after that declaration.
 Plus, when he’s chosen to receive the Snake Miraculous, one of the things he does best is to watch patiently for the opponent’s moves to know the best strategy to take.
 Plus plus, he lives in a houseboat with Juleka, the Anxious Horror Loving Sister, and Anarka, the Chaotic Havoc Mum. I love the Couffaines, but living in The Liberty must be a nightmare sometimes.
 Another point to take in consideration would be how Luka is a hard-worker. Despite him being pretty chill and laid-back, we often see Luka composing and/or practicing for Kitty Section. Not only that, but we also see in Loveater he has a job as a delivery boy through Paris. On a bicycle.
 To wrap this up, I’ll say that Luka is pretty empathic. Just take his whole “reading people and translating them/their feelings into a song” thing we see in Captain Hardrock, Frozer and Loveater. I rest my case.

 Phew, we’re done!
You headcanon these in different houses? I’d love to discuss it!

Chapter 19: Injuries
this is cross posted on Ao3 (my username is causemufins)
We finally find out what Lila was planning and it doesn't just cause emotional wounds to form.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Chloé watched at Marinette stumbled into the classroom. It was fortunately before the bell, but it was getting close. “Dupain-Cheng! Go back out there! We need to talk…”
    Marinette looked up in shock, bags under her eyes. If Chloe didn’t still have the earrings, she would think there was some late night akuma that kept the designer and Chat up. She opened her mouth to say something before Chloé grabbed the other girl’s arm and dragged her out of the classroom.
    “Chloé, what are you doing?” Marinette asked before Chloé put the earrings in Marinette’s hand.
    “It’s been a good amount of time. You can come back from your vacation or whatever. In the few fights I’ve had, Chat and I managed to win but it was always extremely close. It’s safer if you’re in charge.”
    Marinette looked down at the earrings before hugging Chloé. “You still did amazing! Thank you. Both for taking charge and… to be honest, also for giving me a break I needed.”
    “Of course. Maybe if you need a break in the future, hopefully a while from now, I can be Scarlet Lady again? Of course I don’t need to with Pollen which is why the warmer months are utterly ridiculous, and unfortunately my father can’t ban plants.”
    Marinette looked at Chloé, obviously confused. The blonde however, was just glaring at Lila, who was coming their way. “Hi, did I hear you have pollen allergies? One of my cousins has actually been working on a way to help cure them.”
    Chloé rolled her eyes. “Oh quit your BS Lie-la. I don’t know what demon you made a deal with to make everyone keep believing you, but it won’t work on a few of us.”
    The smile Lila gave next made Chloé want to snap her in two. “You mean people like Alya? I wouldn’t be too sure about that. I have ways to get around a number of problems such as her knowing I’m a liar.”
    Just before Chloé could step forward to strangle Lila, the bell rang and she begrudgingly had to go into the classroom and take her seat. However, as she entered the room, a few of the other students were moving away from Samantha, who was trying to keep from crying and starting to fail at that. While Chloé wanted to figure out what Lila had done, because it just had to be Lila’s fault, Bustier started her lesson.
    As the class went on, Chloé kept sneaking glances towards Sam. It seemed that she had managed to calm down somewhat with everyone mostly focused on class. Fortunately everyone that had been harassing Sam was sitting on the other side of the room. The only problem person near the newbie was Lila, who was keeping her mouth shut for whatever reason.
    What surprised Chloé most was Alya coming in late, looking like she had been crying, and the first thing she did upon entering, was glaring straight at Sam. Now that grabbed Chloé’s attention, especially when it seemed to make Samantha look worse. Fortunately, Marinette seemed to notice too, so if they had an akuma on their hands, she would be prepared.
    Because of class, things were theoretically calm. A number of people were tense from what happened earlier, especially the new girl, but no akuma came until they reached lunch. At lunch, things bubbled up again. Chloé quickly grabbed Sabrina and Marinette and dragged them over to where Sam had seated herself. Even if people didn’t like any of them. There still wouldn’t be as many people approaching a whole group as there would if Samantha were all alone.
    Still, not everyone left them alone. Alya stomped over, looking like she might kill or just seriously maim one of the group of girls. Chloé turned to face the reporter, making her hesitate slightly, but Alya didn’t fully stop. “You shouldn’t be hanging out with her.”
    Chloé wasn’t phased by Alya’s tone. “Oh really? What lie did Lila tell now?”
    Alya fumed for a few moments before responding. “Lila didn’t say anything. The other girls have been keeping me informed. Sam’s trying to steal Nino from me! I’m his girlfriend! You can’t just try to make him yours!”
    “I-I’m not trying to do anything like that. He’s just been-” Sam started but got cut off.
    “You’ve been practically hanging off of him outside of school and I saw him give you something, likely a gift.”
    “Have you been stalking her Césaire?” Chloé glared at Alya. “If you have, it was likely from a distance, so you can’t know everything.”
    “I wasn’t stalking them! I was looking for Nino the other day and saw them together. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but now I know the whole story.” Alya explained, trying to get focus off of her.
    It didn’t work as Marinette spoke up. “Alya, someone who was in Bustier’s class with Nino and I last year has their birthday coming up. Nino can’t make it that day, but since Sam also does a bit of djing, she was asked to help with the party instead. Nino’s been helping her out since there’s not as much time to prepare. I know he gave her a mix on a cd a few days ago so that might have been what you’ve seen.”
    “Then what about what everyone’s sent?” Alya asked, showing off some texts and images she had been given.
    “Um, Chloé? Marinette?” Sabrina said meekly before Chloé cut her off.
    “It’s probably Lila using the other girls as proxy so you’ll believe it. I bet she’s a pro at photoshop so she can make images to trick people.”
    “Marinette. Sam is-”
    “Plus, Lila sent me a message last night.” Marinette held her own phone up to Alya, showing the texts from last night. “She wanted this to happen. Probably to-”
    This time Sabrina was able to cut the others off. “Sam already ran off and could be akumatized any moment!”
    The three other girls looked to Sabrina before noticing the missing blonde. “Marinette, you know Sam better than the rest of us.” Chloé said, taking charge. “I’ll go after her. Alya could make it worse since it’s about her and I know you’re still not the best in situations like this because of me Sabrina.”
    The other three agreed and people went their separate ways. Sabrina didn’t want to get involved. Alya started getting ready to record for the Ladyblog and Spot-Light. Marinette ran off to supposedly get people or things to help calm Samantha, but Chloé knew it was really to transform. At the same time, Chloé followed after the other blonde.
    It didn’t take long to find her as with Lunch, not many people were in the classrooms. Chloé started to open the door but it was shoved from the other side to keep it closed. “Don’t come in here!”
    “Sam, are you okay?”
    “Yeah. Okay no. But I’ve got a friend on video call and they’re trying to help. Just make sure not to let anyone in. I might be akumatized but I’m trying really hard not to be akumatized. It’s just, it’s so frustrating! How can people still believe Lila.”
    Chloé almost answered, but Sam’s friend managed to beat her to the punch. “Samantha, facts can easily be warped. And this girl has warped them into a labyrinth. A labyrinth she can change as she pleases. When they finally found an exit, she changed the path and brought them to the minotaur instead. It is those with golden thread like yourself who are able to escape her clutches.”
    “I know Min. I just… there’s too much going on. Even someone who knew the truth couldn’t escape. I couldn’t do anything.” Chloé could hear the pain in Sam’s voice. It wasn’t the same as Marinette’s had been that day in the bathroom, but it was similar. The voice of someone ready to give up.
    “Samantha, you’ll have to do it now. You have 4.28 seconds.” Now that part caught Chloé off guard. Do what now? And what was that timing? Chloé remembered Sam talking about her old friends and one of them who was around the same level of intelligence as Max, but their name definitely wasn’t Min or something like that. Was Sam actually lying to them too? Then there was some mumbling from Sam before her friend spoke again. “I know you don’t. I guess I’m-”
    They were cut off and Chloé could hear the faint bubbling that belonged to Hawkmoth’s power. Sam was akumatized. The blonde tried to run, but it felt like her feet were stuck to the floor. It didn’t take long for the doors to burst open, not by Sam’s hands, but by an explosion of music. It threw Chloé back against the fence of the balcony floor, grabbing onto it for dear life to keep from falling to the floor below. Just before her grip could give out, the music stopped and there stood Sam.
    She was extremely pink with her hair a bright bubblegum shade of the color. A lighter shade made a bodysuit that covered from her neck down other than her arms, which wore dark pink fingerless gloves. Around her waist was a translucent green skirt, and a similar fabric made faux sleeves at the top of the body suit. Light blue accented the bodysuit, and wings of a similar color along with some light pink were behind her, disconnected slightly and just floating there.
    “S-Sam?” Chloé panted out, really hoping Marinette would get here right now. The akuma looked angrier at the name so the blonde quickly corrected herself so she wouldn’t be sonic blasted a second time. “S-Sorry. Who are you now?”
    “I am Angel Rock! Wanting to work and improve my music ended up hurting me, so now I’m going to use it to hurt others!” One of the blue accents that made a small triangle on Angel Rock’s chest suddenly started growing as she grabbed one of the ears of her headphones. Chloé realized that probably meant they were about to attack so she quickly moved out of the way just before another music blast destroyed the fence barrier.
    A few people below who had been surprised by the new akuma were hit by the fence and were pinned under it. For a moment, Chloé watched in horror as the akuma started to move towards the other students. She wasn’t even thinking that much before she yelled at them. “What a loser! You think you could be hurt by music? Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!”
    The blonde didn’t notice if anyone glared. She didn’t care if anyone who heard that hated her yelling at the akuma. All she cared about was Angel Rock was now focused on her, so she started running.
    As Chloé ran, she kept looking back behind her at Angel Rock. Her first thought was the akuma would be in the headphones, but there was one thing that stood out more. On Angel’s wrist was the gold bracelet Sam always wore. It had to be in there or at least the large golden gem on it.
    The blonde had to stop thinking about that as she turned and found herself at a dead end. There was still a classroom to go into, but there would still be no exit from there. If she had more time, maybe she would get the chance to become Abelle, but Angel Rock was too close.
    The shape on the akuma’s chest grew and suddenly rock music exploded into Chloé as she decided to reach for the door. The door was ripped off its hinges and both it and Chloé went flying into the windows on the opposite side of the room. The size of the door kept it from going out the window as well as Chloé as she mostly ended up pressed against it, but there were still broken shards of glass that managed to make a few cuts on the girl.
    Just before another attack could come, Chloé heard the whizz of Ladybug’s yo-yo and a moment later it had wrapped around Angel Rock and pulled her back. No longer held up by the pressure from the soundwaves, the door clattered to the ground along with Chloé. She felt a cut on her head. It was definitely bleeding, but it wasn’t much blood for a head wound, so she was probably okay.
    “My Queen, we may want to assist Ladybug!” Pollen popped out of Chloé’s purse which slightly surprised her in the fact that it was still there after all the akuma had done. “And even if we are not needed, transforming should at least help the injuries a little.”
    “You’re right Pollen. I’m helping out whether Ladybug wants me to or not! Pollen, Buzz on!”
