Anais is the only other person Max trusts to work on Markov when he needs maintenance, and she’s become very close to the little robot. If he’s not with Max, he’s usually with them.

When Anais and Max get really zoned into an experiment and end up staying up multiple nights in a row to work on it, Eloise is typically the one who has to force them to go to bed.

Max and Eloise like to challenge each other with complicated math problems, and they have yet to find one that can stump the other.

Whenever Max and Anais team up for a science fair, everyone better watch out. This is some next level shit about to happen here.

The three of them have a small tutoring business that they run on the side for other students. Their friends all get the discount, obviously.

Max and Eloise both help Anais to unwind from all the pressure put on them by its mom. They both think she’s a bitch who needs to lay off.

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to answer this. But honestly, I normally just agree with my friends’ head canon for them especially @maximum-potential and @artzychic27 . I can’t really named them all but I’ll say the ones that pop into my head that I like. Max is trans (either way) or at least genderfluid, Nathaniel is a Demiboy in my eyes, Rose is intersex, Adrien is nonbinary, Ivan is transmale, and Marc is genderfluid. That’s all I got for now. Bye!

4. THE CLASSMATES

4.1. Bruel, Ivan

Bruel: Old French for "woods, grove", as well as the Catalan name for a species of bird called a firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla).

Ivan: Slavic form of "John", from a Hebrew name meaning "God is gracious".

4.2. Haprèle, Mylène

Haprèle: probably a variant of the German surname Harpel, which ultimately comes from the name of a place in The Netherlands.

Mylène: contraction of "Marie-Hélène". Sounds similar to the Slavic name Milena, meaning "dear, sweet", which is probably why her name is changed to this in the Serbian dub.

4.3. Kanté, Max

Max: ultimately from Latin "maximus", meaning "greatest".

Kanté: probably in reference to either German philosopher Immanuel Kant, or Guinean writer and educator Solomana Kanté.

4.4. Kubdel, Alix

Kubdel: N/A. Seriously, I got nothing.

Alix: medieval French form of "Alice", ultimately from a Germanic name meaning "noble". Is a reference to Alice in Wonderland.

4.5. Kurtzberg, Nathanaël

Kurtzberg: "short mountain", in German. Is a reference to comic book artist Jack Kirby, whose real name was Jacob Kurtzberg.

Nathanaël: "God has given", in Hebrew. Was chosen in reference to Nathanaël Bronn, the show's art director, who the character bears a rather striking resemblance to.

4.6. Lavillant, Rose

Lavillant: probably an alternative spelling of Levaillant. In this case, it's ultimately derived from the Old French place name "Villencourt", the name of an abbey in Normandy. Together with Rose's first name, it forms a pun—"Lavillant Rose" sounds identical to "la vie en rose". "Voir la vie en rose" is a French idiom that roughly translates as "to wear rose-colored glasses".

Rose: "rose flower" or "pink", in both French and English.

4.7. Lê, Chiến Kim

Lê: "black", in Vietnamese. It's the fourth most common surname in Vietnam. Without the diacritic, it looks identical to the French definite article. The English dub changes it to "Nguyen", while the French dub itself later changes it to "Ature", for a pun on "immature".

Chiến: "war, fight", in Vietnamese, it also means "to face something head on". Without the diacritics, it looks identical to the French word for "dog".

Kim: "gold", in Vietnamese.

4.8. Rancomprix, Sabrina

Sabrina: from the name of the river Severn, which is ultimately of unknown meaning.

Raincomprix: from the phrase "rien compris", meaning "understood nothing" in French. Together with Sabrina's first name, it forms a pun—"Sabrina Raincomprix" sounds identical to "Sabri n'a rien compris", which means something like "Sabri didn't understand anything".

4.9. Rossi, Lila

Rossi: from "rosso", Italian for "red".

Lila: either from a Sanskrit term that can loosely be translated as "divine play", or from an Arabic word meaning "night". Either way, it means "purple" in various languages, like Dutch, Romanian, German, and Hungarian. Might also be a pun on "lie", but this only works in the English dub; in both Italian and French, the name is pronounced "Lee-la".

Marinette: Proud to be Blasian, still tense when she gets weird looks/Dyed her hair because she wanted to be Coraline for Halloween, now she just likes the color

Adrien: Black mom, white dad, identity crisis/Gabriel’s still a dick and wants Adrien to be a “Good Black.”/Usually always on the receiving end of light skin jokes

Alya: The same, just with bigger hair/The Queen of Hoop Earrings/One TikTok account for general stuff, the other just to post videos of her and her friends dancing and stepping

Nino: Undoing Gabriel’s influence on his bro and helping him embrace his blackness/You did NOT hear him listening to Robin Thicke/Starts every Shabooya Roll Call

Chloé: Bad and bougie/Identity crisis on a count of she was adopted as a baby to make her white parents look good/Will only let Marc and Juleka style her hair

Sabrina: Only knows English because she listens to Megan Thee Stallion religiously/Scarily good at break dancing

Fanfiction Prompt

Adrien never went to College Francois Dupont. He still attempted and helped Fu, but in the end he was dragged away from the entrance. He continued with his private tutoring and fencing and would still face akuma. (Adrien is still punny and slightly flirtatious with Ladybug, but the relationship is platonic) Adrien only interacts with Marinette's class whenever his company with Chloe and her involvement with the others coincide. This causes most of the class to be wary of him. However, after a few interactions they realize Adrien is almost the opposite of Chloe, but are still a little miffed about him defending Chloe. During these sparse interactions, Adrien becomes part of the class. He gets invited to their events whenever he is free and attains friendships that way. He shares his love of music with Nino and become best friends, his fencing and stint as a superhero put his athleticism on par with Kim and Alix and often participates in their challenges, he is awed by Markov and enjoys listening to Max ramble about whatever, he basks in Rose's positivity, gets inspired by Mylene to make Gabriel more planet friendly, is in awe of Nath's and Marc's comics, and so on and so forth. However, there is something about his friend's archrival, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She was nothing like how Chloe had painted her. She was confident, loyal, and loved helping others. She was creative and kind and compassionate and empathetic. She kind of reminded him of his mother, the ferocity and compassion. And that's what made Adrien fall for her hard. Adrien started flirting with her a lot, no puns to not give away his identity.
