y’all look at my babies growing and thriving
also please ignore my other babies (my dogs) barking like they’re witnessing a murder in the background. they literally saw a strange looking leaf or something and collectively decided to go unhinged together

Hello Hello! Long time no see, hope everyone’s been doing well!
Sorry for the unintentional hiatus - I moved to a new place beginning of the month and have been unpacking, setting up, and settling in.
<.<; Turns out doing so does take up a lot of time and energy, and art and AUs have been on the back burner (where they kind of stalled into a small art block OTL.) I still have ideas and plans for the future but have been working on getting back into the art groove. I have a bunch of almost finished stuff, that I just need a little kick to finally complete.
^^ I’m very happy to see that new AUs and fics have popped up recently as well as a few of my fav fics being updated - so stay tuned for some fanart of those coming in the future.
So yeah small life update - I promise I didn’t fall out of the fandom, just working around adulting and being in a new place. (QAQ I finally have free time)
#life updates#yay adulting#mini hiatus#shouldn’t be too much longer#I miss my bois#so many ideas - just need the energy!#I also used this post as an excuse to draw Techno and Dream cus it turns out that a few weeks away makes it so I can’t remember how to draw#rivalsduo#rivals duo#mini me#c!techno#c!dream#my art

✨Important Update✨
Due to unforeseen events, roomie and I might be being forced to move within the next 30 days. We're hoping our landlords will give us a little more time, but at this point in time, we are unsure of what our future looks like.
A lot has happened in a short amount of time and my brain is really scrambled. I have the rest of the friends to lovers texts completed so I'll be able to post those. But after that, I'm unsure of when I'll be able to post because I won't have much time to write.
I just want to apologize and let everyone know what is happening. Hopefully things will work out in our favour and I can come back quickly!
Happy Holidays. Stay healthy and be well.

Somehow, for being the shortest month, February felt long. This is partly work chaos and partly … current events. (I've just spent a lot of time staring slack-jawed at the news.)
Astute followers will notice I didn't post a review this month. That's because the only book I really felt like saying anything about—The Prague Cemetery—was excellent in many ways but also something I cannot in good conscience recommend, at least in this current political climate, to a generalized audience. It's a brilliant take-down of antisemitic, authoritarian, conservative, cis-white-male thinking (yay) but narrated by someone who is all of those things and simply in it for the money (urf). Not the funnest thing to have read shortly after a certain inauguration but probably good for me in the long run.
And sure, I could've reviewed the third Emily Wilde book (but how to, without spoiling?) or Tokyo Ueno Station (sad, doing some smart things within its genre) or My Kind of Trouble (gender-swapped Music Man!) or any of the others but there wasn't much to say about any of those and/or I didn't have the energy.
In more personal news, I've been writing again, at least a little! I'm maybe a scene and a half from being done the chapter I've been on since November and for one of those scenes I can cannibalize something I cut months ago. Then it's a matter of wrapping things up, so I think five chapters left, maybe less. This could be my year! I've done better blocking out all the current events stuff, which usually stymies my writing, on an emotional level than I usually do. I hope that can continue.
I've also been trying my best to boycott US products and companies, though I'm not doing so great with, like, social media and email and also I probably shouldn't have bought Aftermarket Afterlife but in my defense, Seanan McGuire is a good egg and deserves royalties. For whatever that's worth. I've been helped in the not-buying-of-books by having no other books in need of buying, and also library holds! So many! I have been spoiled, which probably means I'll have to wait another month or more before anything else comes in for me. (Have I added, like, eight books to my holds queue though? Maybe.)
How have your Februaries and your readings been? Let me know if you've got recs for me!
And now, here's what I read this month in order of personal enjoyment…

I'm still alive. Haven't been doing much lately. But here's a Nightcrawler I drew. 💙
Some personal stuff under the cut.
I've been through a lot lately what with the cancer and my body finding new and interesting ways to break down. I'm still doing okay from a "the cancer isn't really spreading" perspective but the treatment I've had has caused a number of awful issues in the past six months or so.
I'm gonna be going to MAGFest in a little under two weeks, and when I get back I want to do more stuff. Definitely more art. Maybe some folks will see it and follow. I'd love to have actual followers instead of just bots.
Anyways. It's nearly 3 AM. My sleep schedule is a mess. But hopefully I'll be able to create some more post-worthy stuff soon. 💜
