“One day isn't your whole life. A day is just a day.” ― Brigid Kemmerer, Letters to the Lost
This is true, as we all know, but sometimes, when one day doesn't go well, we feel as if our whole life isn't going so well... We forget to be grateful for the good things and we cling to the bad ones...

✨Thank penguinbookssea for being so kind for sending me Until Morning by Joyce Chua.
✨I was sent another book too but I’ll be featuring that one in a few days from now.
✨ Actually there will be a few book features this week so please bear in mind and I will try to add some book reviews this week. I just need to still take some new photos (or maybe reuse some?) and edit. So, there may be double posts from me. ☺️
✨Let’s talk about Just Morning by Joyce Chua. I am hoping to get around to it very soon since my mood has been struggling lately and I can barely concentrate on reading. But this sounds really good.
✨Just Morning is marketed as for fans of Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer and You Reached Sam by Dustin Thao.
✨We meet our FMC Lexi who feels like she has met her soulmate but the problem is: he doesn’t even know who she is and she technically doesn’t know him either. He goes by the name Night and is an elusive street artist. Lexi ends up in a coma following a car accident and finds herself wandering Night’s paintings and his childhood memories. Then, there is Christopher who keeps having these dreams with a free-spirted girl name Lexi. Fate brings them together when Christopher’s dad plans to take over the land of Lexi’s fathers inn and Chris has to face the decision of staying loyal to his father or helping Lexi return back to her life.
✨Until Morning is around 250ish pages and came out on September 12th. I think this will be a fast, emotional read and I’ll update everyone once I get around to reading it.

You have a wide reach and a lot of great book knowledge. Do you or anyone who follows you have any recommendations on books about grief? Maybe parental if you can get specific. Thank you.
thank you for reaching out to me! i will do some best and see if some mutuals have some other recs as well! i have some that are about children grieving parents but also a few others as well that handled the topic well.
legendborn by tracy deonn- this is my first pick, it came to mind immediately. bree's mom dies before the book takes place and she realizes her mom was tied to something magical. despite the fantasy setting, the depiction of grief is incredibly realistic and nuanced.
letters to the lost by brigid kemmerer- contemporary ya, about a teen girl who writes letters to her mom, who died the year before. someone who works at the graveyard starts writing back and they become unlikely friends.
satisfaction guaranteed by karelia stenz-waters- a contemporary adult romance where the main characters meet because a woman they were close to dies. shes one character's aunt and the other's friend/mentor.
sorry bro by taleen voskuni- while this is a romance, connecting with roots story, Nar also is dealing with her emotions regarding her dad and his death.
elatsoe by darcie little badger- ellie can raise the dead but she doesn't bring humans back, even when her cousin trevor dies. which she struggles to find the truth behind his death, she also must process her emotions. absolutely beautiful novel.
other possible books:
if i stay by gayle forman
fun home by alison bechdel
strange the dreamer by laini taylor
a monster calls by patrick ness is a rec from @logarithmicpanda
i hope one of these books helps you!!

I wince. I have no idea what to say. "Do you want to hit me back? You can."
"No, I don't want to hit you back, you idiot. I've sent you like thiry texts. Are you okay?"
My eyebrows go up. "You are asking me if I'm okay?"
"Yes."
It's like the moment I realised Dad wasn't going to let me chase him out of my room. I want to crumple on the floor. "No," I say. "I'm not."
"Then come on."
I don't move. My head is spinning. "Where are we going?"
"Downstairs. Get your gloves. If you need to throw punches, let's find something better than my face.

.
The moment i came across Rev, i fell in love with him wholeheartedly, no doubt.❤️ He's the typical, dark gothic black-hoddie-black-clothes type of guy.
This book is complete YA and it's not overwhelming or anything, in fact the darkness brought by Rev and the humour his friends and family brings in the book is completely balanced out.
Anyone in YA will love this book for sure!!!
.
'More Than We Can Tell', the second book of the series 'Letters To The Lost', is a story about Rev, the Grim Reaper, a seventeen year old boy, struggling with his demons from the past and Emma who's parent's failing marriage and the regular online harrasment is starting her to worry to no extent.
.
"When Rev and Emma meet, they both long to lift the burden of their secrets and bond instantly over their shared turmoil. But when their situations turn dangerous, their trust in each other will be tested in ways they never expected. This must-read story will once again have readers falling for Brigid Kemmerer’s emotional storytelling."

"You want to know what I believe? I believe in fate, but I also believe in free will. Meaning, there's a path, but we're free to veer away from it. The only problem is that there's no way to know whose path we're following on any given moment. Our own? Our fate's? Other people are on their on paths, too. What happens when we intersect? What happens when someone else wipes our path clean, and we're left with no road to follow? Is that fate? Is that when free will kicks in? Is the path there, but invisible? Who the hell knows?"
