Only real ones remember the Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith Lay's Potato Chip Collectible Stickers.

Bought these two bags of Lay’s Extra Barbecue and Hot Chilli Squid flavour wavy potato chips. If you asked me what about the “Extra Barbecue” taste in there. Well, it tasted just like the normal smoky BBQ flavoured chips, nothing extra. Tearing open the Hot Chilli Squid chips, I can smell the umami flavours of the squid, coupled with the spicy profile when I bite into the potato chips. Between these two flavours, I preferred the latter for the flavours of the sea.

Found this summer's Weird Lays Flavors, neither of which are as good as the Coronation Chicken crisps I got in England. They're both fine; the Cuban is a thinly-veiled dill pickle chip and the BLT sandwich is really just bacon-flavored, but they're not bad, they're just not particularly mind-blowing.

Sis was grocery shopping and came across Lay’s new Japanese flavours chips. The three limited edition flavours are Slow-Grilled Lobster, Hokkaido Scallop and Creamy Hokkaido Baked Cheese. They are products of Taiwan and cost S$5.95 per 170g bag. There is also a promotion to exchange for one of the two limited edition cushions with any S$15 purchase of Lay’s, Ruffles and Doritos products. Sis picked the Maneki-neko Cushion (招き猫).

I haven't done a headcanons post in a while but since I was thinking about Ikuko a LOT while doing a chapter for fate outside a catbox, I feel like I should share them in some non-fic format that also isn't attached to a 200k+ word fic.

I haven't read Hanyuu's backstory arcs from Higurashi, so those aren't really incorporated into this.

It's implied? mentioned? I forget which. That Ikuko comes from a wealthy family, and she was exiled from it for some ~unknown reason~. I like imagining that this wealthy family was old money that also invested a lot in media (TV channels, radio stations, newspapers, maybe even book publishers?) to control the narrative of the public/to control 'stories' (the story of the world?). This is part of why Featherine is such a powerful witch, and why she has an entire city of books - because she is descended from gods who control and own so many stories. (And why she was able to ascend to the realm of gods and return - because it is her origin.)

Ikuko was kicked out from her family for doing something similar to what she does with Tohya - keeping a 'human pet', basically - except he threatened to reveal her or some other destructive act that would harm the family. They had her death faked and exiled her as a result, which is why Featherine lost her former glory and no one remembers her old deeds/history - they were erased.

Speaking of 'human pet': because of how Ikuko was raised by her family, which was incredibly wealthy and saw people as pieces/pawns to manipulate rather than as humans, she obtained a similar attitude. She can feel affection for others, but she can't really see them as equals, and she herself doesn't think of herself as a human.

Bern, the real-world cat, was a stray cat that started hanging around Ikuko's house and helped her when she was contemplating suicide after being exiled for several years. The isolation - besides the servants, who were meant to spy on her and keep her in line - was getting to her, and she felt that her life didn't have much worth. Her writing was helpful, but since she didn't feel able to publish it, all she could do was powerlessly write for herself privately, which felt hollow.

...If you know much about how I characterize Ikuko and Tohya's relationship, it's probably not much of a surprise that I think she ran him over and covered it up, as well as purposefully working to keep him isolated.

A good part of it was probably more than just possessive behavior, but some amount of goodwill - her own family was rich and powerful and didn't love her. He would probably be better off with her than with them.

One last tidbit: I headcanon Featherine as autosexual. I think it fits well with her arrogance as well as how she is, ultimately, made up of a couple (Tohya and Ikuko). Selfcest for the win?
