#Lady of the stars {Rosalina}

Guys, please listen to "Kronos Unveiled" from The Incredibles because that song gave me the angst Bowuigi idea that I'm about to share with you all.

(And just a quick heads up, if some of the ideas look familiar, it's because I took inspiration from this one-sided Bowuigi angst post I made a while back and The Secret Alliance Bowuigi WIP idea I talked about back in early April.)

Okay, so after countless failed attempts of marrying Peach, Bowser decides to change his evil ways and become a good guy. Happy to see that Bowser is finally changing his ways, Luigi starts visiting Bowser to help him on this good path journey, which results in them becoming good friends (and maybe eventually become a couple, but I'll go over that more at the end). As Peach sees Luigi and Bowser's friendship (and sees that Bowser actually wants to become a better Koopa), she asks Bowser if he wants to sign a peace treaty with her as a way to bring their two kingdoms closer together, which Bowser 100% agrees to because this is something he also wants to do.

However, not everyone is accepting of Bowser's newfound kindness.

So at first, Mario was very wary of this new version of Bowser because he was worried that Bowser was going to take advantage of Luigi's kindness and use him to get closer to Peach and the MK. However, after some long 1-on-1 talks with both Luigi and with Peach, he starts to realize that Bowser has actually been telling the truth and genuinely wants to stop the conflicting war between the two kingdoms.

That is, until people started to go missing.

Now at first, it wasn't very noticeable. Mario figured that all the different royals he needed to talk to were just taking a vacation or were sick and couldn't reach back out to him. However, after noticing that his close friends and very important people (i.e., Yoshi and Rosalina) were missing, that's when Mario realize that something was up.

So after about a week or so, Mario tells Peach and Luigi that he's going to visit Daisy for a week just to catch up. They haven't seen each other since the Strikers Tournament, so Mario figured that it would be a good time to travel to Sarasaland to see what the spunky and out-going princess is up to.

At least, that's what he told Peach and Luigi.

In actuality, Mario is instead going to secretly visit Professor E. Gadd. The reason? Mario needs to borrow an invention from E. Gadd that'll either help him break into Bowser's Castle and/or take pictures of what's going on behind closed doors at Bowser's Castle (as a way to prove to Peach and Luigi that Bowser's not as good as he saids he is).

And E. Gadd agrees to let Mario borrow an invention.

So after about a day of travel, Mario quietly breaks into Bowser's Castle without trouble and doesn't immediately see anything suspicious. Of course, this doesn't stop Mario from sneaking around the castle as he has this really gut-wrenching feeling that Bowser just has to be up to something.

And this is where the "Kronos Unveiled" scene really starts to come into play.

So similar to the starting scene, Mario finds this big computer in a huge and dark room, so he walks up to it. He sees that he needs a password and after guessing the password (Koopa), he has access to all the secret files of Bowser's Castle. After clicking on the "Royals" option (this would replace the "Supers" option from the movie scene), Mario discovers something really horrific.

A lot of royals have died.

No, a lot of royals have died because Bowser killed them.

The 7 kings from Super Mario Bros 3, Prince Peasley, even Rosalina and the Star Spirits from Paper Mario, Bowser has invaded dozens of lands and murdered those rulers of the said lands in an effort to make his airships more powerful.

But his plan doesn't stop there.

After some research in the computer, Mario discovers that "Operation Koopa" consists of 3 phases.

Phase 1: Bowser absorbs the power of the Super Star (like how Mario and Luigi did at the end of the Mario movie) after he stole it from the Star Spirits.

Phase 2: Bowser travels to the Mushroom Kingdom in the middle of the night with his Doom Ship (this would take place after he signs the peace treaty with Peach).

Phase 3: Bowser uses the Doom Ship (and himself since he absorbed the power of the Super Star) to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom (in an effort to force Peach to either marry him or he'll kill her).

And what's really interesting about this idea is that I have two different approaches on how this all can go.

Idea 1: Everything that I just told you guys is all Bowser's idea. Like this Bowuigi angst idea I brought up in the beginning of this post, from point A to point Z, Bowser is very willing to play the long-con if it means that Peach and/or the MK will finally become his.

OR

Idea 2: Bowser is not the one in control here, but it's actually King Boo who's making Bowser do all of these bad things (and this approach wouldn't be like the Bowuigi Secret Alliance idea I also mentioned at the beginning of this post (although, you can kind of make it like that if you really wanted to). I mean more in the sense that King Boo would full-on possess Bowser in order for him to help him (King Boo) reach his ultimate goal of taking over the entire world.

Personally, I like idea 1 a little bit better, but the pure idea of King Boo being the one who's pulling all of the strings also sounds both really intriguing and really angsty (like no joke, there's this one idea I have in regards to the E. Gadd & Peach scene where Boolossus (or some other important Boo besides King Boo) is possessing E. Gadd throughout that entire scene and Peach never realizes/notices.)

Super Mario Princesses if I did it

ngl I love these characters but for such a cartoony world, I am bothered by the fact they all look super similar.. so I hopped on the redesign train! I wanted them more cartoony😊 I gave them each a primary shape like a real tooner (these are adjustments of some older designs I did))

❗Rosalina: I wanted her to look more like she was lost in space for a million years lol, so she's super skinny and has washed out skin. I wanted her clothes to be inspired by cliche God attire. also her hair is now star shaped. I tried to make her look more powerful and sad lol. (her shape is long, there's no emoji for that)

🔴Peach: I really like how she looks in Paper Mario and wished she always had that shape language.. I love when the body is just a circle on a circle! I wanted her dress to look less like a European royal gound cuz it didn't match the vibe of the toads to me. speaking of which, I gave her a mushroom hat instead of a crown :) and put spots on her "pearls?" I made her hair red because of her old design and her lips are heart shaped ye!

🔺Daisy: I'm not a "new daisy design hater", despite wanting to give her a unique dress, I also love that her and Peach match, so tried to keep that. (like most redesigners) I wanted her to dress more appropriate for the desert which she apparently lives in. The three jewls that match Peach didn't work on her head piece so now it's just on her forehead lol. (ya see.. Peach is made of round shapes so Daisy's made of sharp shaped🤯🤯🤯)

🟥Pauline: I made her OLD!!! because Cranky is OLD and cuz she's a referance to an OLD game!!! but more then that, I wanted her to look more like a cartoony mayor, so her being a little old lady is just cute (she still was super tall back in the day). I like Paulines suit from Odyssey more than her dress so Ima treat it like her defult attire. obviously she still rocks the form fitted dress hehehe.

I'm Begging For Asks

This is the page of the things I’m currently in the mood to write, if I’m not begging for asks of things I want to write here’s where you can see what I’m in the mood for. 

Each series will be in bold, I would accept any characters from that series in asks or prompts. The characters listed below each series are the characters from it I would like to see the most, but they aren't required for asks or prompts from the series itself.

Any muse labeled with (Gender Transformation) are characters I will only accept in a genderbent ask, or in asks involving the character having their gender transformed as a part of the story.

If none of the male muses are calling to you, crossover asks are allowed if you want to put someone with Makoto Naegi from Danganronpa, which seems to be a common thread for my blog. Like Makoto Naegi x Rosa from Pokemon. This can also include crossovers like Jaune Arc from RWBY x Mirko from MHA.

Also to note is that as of now, with how much of them are in my inbox, I'm not accepting asks involving Danganronpa characters, with the sole exception of crossover asks involving Makoto as the male muse.

The last note to make here is that I will temporarily be accepting asks and prompts involving anonymous characters, or original characters provided they aren't self inserts. I will also accept asks and prompts of monsters like slimes, and other beasts. This means asks involving a character such a an original villain with mind control powers for My Hero Academia would be accepted, or a gang of thugs or villains for DC or Marvel comics would as well. Along with stories involving hilichurls or slimes from Genshin Impact, or something like the grimm from RWBY.

This is a temporary test to see how I feel about it, I make no promises that it will remain that way. It's dependent on how I feel when writing these stories.

Outside - I have 7 flower charms which symbolize the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

Inside - I have a few little things I collaged together that I have found out and about or that someone has given me! I definitely have a junk-journaling style approach to pocket shrines haha. I also have some quartz + angel & flower charms + a butterfly🦋 charm that symbolizes the resurrection of Christ.

Contents - I have some drawings I did that bring me peace & joy that I fold up and tuck behind the quartz 😚; One that compares the 7-pointed Fae Star with the Immaculate Heart (Seven Swords), and another of Our Lady of Lourdes. I have a St. Benedict rosary bracelet (one of two I received from my aunt when my father passed) that reminds me of my desire to improve myself/the world. And a necklace that I've been wearing basically everyday, but I keep it in here when I shower or sleep. On this necklace I have a charm for each of my babies; A Leo ♌️ charm for our Rosalina who we lost a few years ago, and a Capricorn ♑️ charm for Tadhg who we lost this past year. Today was my due date for our sweet baby boy but I miscarried a few months ago. I also have a green agate charm (connection with nature) my mother gave me, and a Fae Star charm my aunt gave me this past Christmas🎄🤶🏻!

     Though it had been eons since, she started as a mortal woman no different than you nor I. Only through untimely death and sacrificial rebirth was the gift of reincarnation given. She was reborn with a might most divine indeed. And to this day, the radiance of the cosmos poured over her like a familiar coat. That air of infinite space, of sparkling stars shimmered in endless night. It followed her with each step taken... even amongst these castles in the clouds where the sun reigned supreme, the simple stars seemed to watch her every movement. Please, dear viewer. Remember this fact well: Stars do not depart during the day. They are merely outshined by the light of the sun against our atmosphere.

     Careful eyes can see that they will not go unmissed. Not here, not now. Stars will shine brighter out of respect for their protector's arrival. They are camera flashes cheering her name. For every warm hearth and cozy leatherbound storybook the Comet Observatory held, the grandiose nature of Skyworld seemed to show the real breadth of a Goddess's domain. Steps followed behind her guide's pace lightly, a general ethereal hover cutting itself short to feel the path she walked upon. She wanted to hear just how specifically her heels clicked upon this perfectly cut stone. The scents of flowers abroad, the sunlight golden in both light and nature... her own Garden Dome at home was starting to feel a mite bit rural in lieu of all this!

     Ah... The very thought made her happy. Every day existence proves her wrong and gives her something new to gaze upon is a good day indeed.

     Alas, in the splendor of it all, she had been neglecting her duties as a good guest. Yes, she had been a touch on the quiet side for quite some time. A head shifted on a swivel, she gazed like a child taken to their first amusement park. Or perhaps someone traveling to the big city for the first time, then spying buildings that could poke the heavens in their height. The other's voice comes as a slight surprise, attention shifting suddenly as he starts.

     And again must a light chuckle be administered to the open air, gentle amusement playing at risen rosy cheeks. So, tales of her exploits have reached even the heavens?

     "My-my! I am ever impressed at how far word can spread~. Well... If you must know... In some ways, perhaps the stories are true. I am not akin to the fabled Atlas holding up the skies upon his back, but I have come quite far by bringing in those that make up the universe. There is much that I have done in my lifespan, and there is still much yet to do. But for wayward souls and wandering travelers...      "To tell you the truth, I think I've grown weary of the grandiose in my years. i know you def ship bowsario and you have turned me into a very hard shipper of that, but who do you think luigi would end up with if not daisy?

Hmm. With Luigi, his relationships have a good variety. This is probably gonna be a long post...

Daisy is the best of the ladies, but I like either Waluigi or King Boo for the men...or, uh, ghosts? Waluigi is fun because they'd both have mutual pity parties they could help one another with. Waluigi overall has a lot of probably sad and underrated potential, in and out of story context. (Never gonna star in a main game, smh...)

King Boo is like Bowser being obsessed with Mario, just with Luigi, which is all the more entertaining since most villains go ham for Mario, while King Boo would sit there like, "No! Luigi is WAY more appealing...I MEAN A THREAT, I MUST DESTROY HIM!" Not that I've considered that or anything...

For other ladies, I've considered Peach and Rosalina in the past. Though they have more limited chemistry with him than Mario, it's still there. Peach and Daisy feel like they could be paired with the opposite brothers, and I've wondered if they were mismatched in the past. Daisy is bolder and might pair well with Mario's adventurous side, while Peach is softer and sweeter like Luigi. Then again, maybe they balance out one another respectively, hence why Mario/Peach and Luigi/Daisy make more universal sense.

Rosalina, meanwhile, kind of feels like she could be ok with Luigi, but I feel like that's mostly brought about by the one-off treatment they gave her regarding him in Mario Galaxy. After that, it's not really noteworthy between the two. But, they have personalities that mesh together regardless.

Then there are characters from the other games with I guess dubious states of canon. Like, I'd personally love Luigi with Prince Peasley, but he only appears in the story of Superstar Saga and relations. But gooooood, Peasley would be such a fun alternate character to work with, and I'd love to see other royals past Bowser and Peach for mainline, or even past Daisy for spin-offs. (Even if he wasn't a romantic interest for Luigi, he would still be so much fun and so very flamboyant, so that would be a treasure!)

I also would've like to mention Princess Eclair, but like, she went off with the Chestnut King in those stories from Paper Mario, so...nope!

Finally, because of my fanfic, I developed a personal investment in Yoshi as a potential partner for Luigi, which...I admit, has very little support overall. Still, the idea of them seems cute to me! Yoshi tends to be treated as a pet to Mario or Luigi, but I don't think that's the correct way to characterize him, canon or fanon? So, putting him on equal footing as them and then boosting their friendship could be good and from that, well, the potential is there. (Says the leading Bowser/Mario shipper, I know, I know...)

But anyhow, those are my usual suspects to Luigi shipping. It's been like a decade of dealing with it, but I still don't fully get the dynamic of Bowser/Luigi. Lots of people like it because they fit gay male archetypes fairly well, and Luigi fits for those that like him as a substitute for Peach as well. But, I've never considered them over Mario with Bowser instead, and the drama that comes from those two feels more powerful to me.

Others aren't really on the map.

Pauline is worth a mention, maybe, but I don't think they focus on her having a love interest past her history with Mario, which, GOOD. She stands on her own and I'm proud that she came roaring out of the past and forward to the present! (Dream come true for me...now I just need Wart to do the same and I'll feel accomplished somehow!)

E Gadd would probably gross most people out, but that buzzed through my head briefly, so there's a mention. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything much to go for that.

Toad...eh, most people don't even realize he's an adult. Hopefully the movie helped with that? But, I haven't put much stock into that for potential. Limited, but I think doable in a similar vein to Yoshi? Toadette would likely end up in the same place, naturally.

Wario and Donkey Kong don't really interact with Luigi in any special manner like they do for Mario, so I wouldn't really consider either of those. (Though I feel like either would hit the same archetype fulfillment that Bowser does too, so that's at least worth mentioning.)

Hopefully I'm not missing any major names, lol. But yeah, that seems about a longer analysis of Luigi options than I think you were asking for, haha!

Personally, I think that the best options (aka my preferred options) are the earlier mentioned ones, so like, past Daisy: Waluigi, King Boo, or even Peach. Peasley if I can count him on their level.

Whereas the greater conflict and overall drama that surrounds Mario and Bowser for their relationship is what makes their potential dynamic exciting and engaging, Luigi's relationships prime a more introspective look to himself and his partner.

The core is Luigi managing his potential insecurities, and pairing him with someone that likely also has such similar issues, as well as one that would recognize him past everything. Considering the villains getting overshadowed by others (Waluigi gets it from Wario and Bowser, King Boo has the same but mostly from Bowser), they make a lot of sense. After all, they see something in Luigi that no one else will, so, who better than either of them?

Peach herself is nice due to wanting more autonomy from Bowser and Mario, because it feels like her life is too entwined with them. Luigi allows an escape and a chance to help someone who could really use her too, and given that she's a healer type of character, that has a real underrated potential. Peasley could adopt mindsets from both of those, seeing something that no one else does, and could find a welcome respite from his usual lifestyle with someone that he can really retreat away with.

So, yeah! Luigi shipping!

Rosalina’s afternoon was proving to be peaceful so far.

Shortly after lunch, she’d taken to walking in a nearby park with one of her Lumas as company, enjoying the time before she needed to get ready for the next scheduled kart race. She’d run into Mario and Peach, who’d evidently had a similar idea. Mario had even given her a spare bag of birdseed before they’d parted, which she was sitting on a bench near an empty playground and using now to feed an eclectic variety of local birds.

Or at least she had been doing that, until a green and yellow blur sped into the cluster of gathered birds with a yell, sending them all squawking and flapping their wings to flee, which likewise sent her Luma into a giggle fit. When Rosalina lowered her arms after the cacophony had ended, someone was standing in the middle of the space the birds just left, laughing triumphantly about their departure.

“Bowser Junior, was it?” Rosalina asked, and he turned to grin broadly at her.

“Yeah, that’s me!” He puffed up his chest, looking every inch his father’s son. “Prince Bowser Junior! Hey, you’re that Star Lady from space!”

“Princess Rosalina,” she corrected, but Bowser Junior was only half-listening, looking for more birds to scare.

His search, despite bearing little fruit after the ruckus he’d caused earlier, only extended a certain distance away from Rosalina’s bench. “Dad got lost,” he told Rosalina when she asked why that was, “and this is where I’m supposed to wait for him if either of us gets lost.”

“...I see.”

Bored with searching for birds, Bowser Junior cambered onto the bench next to Rosalina. Eventually, now that everything was still, some birds came back to eat the remaining birdseed on the ground. Rosalina tossed them some more to snack on.

Floating above them, their Luma companion mused about the birds they were feeding, and how tiny and insignificant their lives were. Like theirs, it supposed, small stitches in the vast fabric of the universe. Stitches that affected the fabric the most when cut. It giggled. “Ah, to have my string cut someday...” it mused, bobbing and twirling in the air. “To leave behind a void that will never be the same, even if it’s filled...”

“Cut...like dying?” Bowser Junior furrowed his brows in confusion.

“Of course! The string of fate, sliced clean by the blades of the unturnable~!”

“...You’re weird,” Bowser Junior said. The Luma giggled again.

Rosalina’s eyes slid from the regrowing crowd of birds to the child sitting next to her. She considered giving him her bag of birdseed, so he could have a go at feeding the birds and perhaps deem that a better way to interact with them than scaring them off, but he looked too deep in thought to be bothered. And sure, almost half this planet’s orbit ago he had been a whole lot of trouble as part of Bowser’s attempt to take over the universe, but that was more his father, not him. Which was why she felt the need to ask him if there was something wrong. “Sorry about my Luma,” she added, thinking something it said had upset him. “Its demeanor can be...off-putting to most.”

Said Luma pouted at her. Bowser Junior huffed a laugh. But he still looked rather troubled for someone so young, fiddling with his bandanna and staring off into the distance. Rosalina decided not to push him, being patient. And that patience paid off, as with a final look between her and her Luma, he asked, “Can I tell you a secret?” in a small voice.

The Luma floated toward him, curiously. Rosalina leaned in, subtly.

“I died once,” Bowser Junior quietly told them.

“You did?!” The Luma gasped, an outward echo of Rosalina’s own surprise that exchanged her muted horror for amazed delight.

“Shh!” Bowser Junior covered its mouth, looking around furtively. “Quiet! It’s a secret!”

Whatever the Luma wanted to say next was muffled under Bowser Junior’s hands. “When?!” it asked when Bowser Junior removed them, obediently dropping its voice to a hushed whisper.

“Uh...a couple months ago, I think?”

Ah, Rosalina thought. “That supernova...you were sucked in by its black hole.”

“Huh? Black hole...?” Bowser Junior looked confused, as if he had no idea of the event that almost had the entire universe destroyed, despite being near the epicenter of it. But his face quickly cleared, and he shook his head. Rosalina’s stomach sank. It was something else...?

“What was it like, what was it like?!” the Luma asked, vibrating in excitement.

“Um.” Bowser Junior backed away from the Luma’s enthusiasm, bumping into Rosalina. Looking down at him in concern, she was about to tell him he absolutely did not have to indulge the Luma’s curiosity in the slightest, but then he took a breath and began speaking, each word carefully considered.

“I fell,” he began, frowning. The Luma leaned forward in anticipation. “And the ship fell, too. And then...and then...” His voice trailed off.

“You don't have to discuss it,” Rosalina interrupted firmly, with a stern glance at her Luma. “Not if the memories are too much to bear for you.”

But to her surprise, her words had the opposite intended effect; Bowser Junior’s vulnerable expression was joined by a stubborn glint in his eye, and he barreled on.

“I fell and it got hot,” he said in a rush. “And bright,” he added. “And really hot. And then...” The resolve faded. He searched for what to say next. He swallowed, thickly. “I woke up,” he finished simply, head bowed and shoulders hunched.

Though his description was vague, the Luma practically had stars in its eyes hearing it. “...Did it hurt?” it breathed, enraptured.

“.........Yeah.”

“Woah...”

“I’m sorry,” Rosalina said, heart heavy.

“It's okay, I think...you didn't do anything,” Bowser Junior reassured her, as if that wasn't the entire problem with this situation. But she'd been too far away to even see most of what was going on in Bowser’s galaxy back then, let alone do anything to help. And there was no way Mario and Peach knew either, Rosalina realized abruptly, though they'd been closer to the action. They'd be beating themselves up about it endlessly if they did. But what about — ?

“Does your father know?”

“No!” Wide-eyed, Bowser Junior grabbed at her dress. “Don't tell him! Or he won't let me go fight Mario with him anymore...! He already barely lets me help, now...!”

...She should probably tell his father. But Bowser Junior had started tearing up some, so...

“Alright, I won't tell,” Rosalina promised. Bowser Junior sighed in relief. “But,” she continued, “only as long as you promise to tell your family about what happened soon.”

“Yes, you should tell them!” the Luma cheered, twirling around the pair. “The knowledge of what's after death! It deserves to be treasured and shared~!”

“...You’re weird,” Bowser Junior told the Luma, but there was the faintest of smiles on his face as he wiped at his cheeks. “Okay,” he said next, and Rosalina gave him a starbit to munch on for it. And then a couple more when he started pestering her for them, and then a few more after that.

Not long after, Bowser walked down the path towards them, face pinched in worry and clearly in search of his son. “Dad!” Bowser Junior exclaimed, hopping off the bench and running up to meet him.

“There you are!” Bowser knelt to ruffle his son’s hair. “Didn't I tell you to stay with me so you wouldn't get lost?”

“I wasn't lost,” Bowser Junior grumbled. “You’re the one that disappeared.”

Bowser chuckled indulgently. But then Bowser Junior’s exasperated expression became overshadowed by uncertainty, and Bowser’s grin dimmed to match. “What’s up, son?” Bowser asked, voice softening.

“Um,” Bowser Junior said, and then quieted. His eyes flicked to the ground, to his father, to the Luma who had floated into his periphery, to a different spot on the ground. He shook his head. “Nevermind.”

Bowser bent down further to better meet his son’s eyes. “You sure?”

Bowser Junior nodded.

“Oh.” Bowser straightened, putting a hand on Bowser Junior’s shoulder. “Okay. Uh, you know you can tell me anything, right?”

“I know!” Bowser Junior chirped. He smiled at Bowser, small yet light. “Maybe later. I’m going to go play over there now.” he pointed at the nearby playground.

Though he still looked worried, Bowser met his son’s smile with his own, similarly warm. “Go for it,” he said. “Just don't wander off again, yeah?”

“You wandered off,” Bowser Junior insisted with a sigh. Nonetheless, he ran to the playground. The Luma followed him, sprinkling stardust as it floated about his head, stardust that caused Bowser Junior to sneeze. The Luma laughed, and when Bowser Junior began chasing it around in indignation for doing so it flew off to a hiding place underneath the slide with a wide grin. Bowser watched them go with a thoughtful look, but he seemed to accept his son’s new friend in the end.

But then he noticed his son’s new friend’s guardian, and he flinched at her cool stare. Rosalina kept it up even as he worked up the nerve to say something, perhaps because their charges were getting along mere yards away.

“So, uh.” He tried to meet her eyes. He didn't succeed. “He didn't bother you too much, did he...?”

“...He was fine,” Rosalina replied tersely. Bowser huffed at her answer.

“No, he was definitely a handful," he said. "He’s always a handful.”

Despite the complaint, he sounded fond. Rosalina understood that feeling intimately. So she decided to throw him a bone. “No more than any of my Lumas can be,” she offered, and Bowser laughed a little, relaxing slightly.

“Yeah, I guess you’d know about that.” He grinned at her like she was just a fellow parent, and not like he was the monster who had attacked her home, scared her children, and almost destroyed the universe months prior. There was really no reason he couldn't be both, Rosalina mused. But as a fellow parent, Rosalina should probably tell Bowser something about what his son had told her. She’d promised not to, though, so she didn’t. Instead, “After the universe was reborn,” she said, “how did your son fare?”

Bowser looked surprised at the question. “He, uh, fared fine. He’s lucky he didn't get hurt, from what I heard. Though” — Bowser frowned — “there’ve been nightmares. And some art. Of vents or somethin’, I dunno; he won't let me see any of it. Rosalina hummed. She hadn't been sure about what Bowser’s answer would be, but the one she heard at least assured her that Bowser Junior was in good hands, and would continue to be so after he fulfilled his end of their promise.

“Dad!” Bowser Junior called from atop the jungle gym. When Bowser didn't move within milliseconds, he called for him again. And again. And —

“Alright, alright, I'm coming!” Bowser yelled back, amused. Without a second glance to Rosalina he ambled toward the playground with large steps. When Bowser Junior shouted at him to hurry up, Bowser smirked and all but stopped moving. He laughed at the resulting groaning about it, grin widening as said groaning turned into laughter of its own. As he walked further away, Rosalina tuned out the rest of his and his son’s exchange. With one eye kept on the playground, Rosalina sat back and resumed feeding her birds.
