La Posada Santa Fe, New Mexico
La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico was originally a mansion, built by Abraham Staab in 1882. His wife, Julia, became extremely depressed after the death of their eighth child, as well as a string of failed pregnancies. She started to withdraw from their social circles and spent all of her time shut in her bedroom, where she perished in 1896. When the house became a hotel, Julia’s bedroom became room 256. This room has been the subject of multiple haunting tales since, beginning with a maid’s sighting of Julia herself in 1979. Guests have heard screaming from behind walls and received phone calls on a disconnected phone. Even in the hallways and dining room, guests have reported seeing glasses smash and candles go out with no cause.

Dia de los Muertos 2024
We commemorate Dia del los Muertos with woodcuts  by the Mexican printmaking satirist José Guadalupe Posada Aguilar (1852-1913) from the 1930 publication Monografía: Las Obras de José Guadalupe Posada, grabador mexicano, edited by American ethnographer Frances Toor (1890-1956), American Mexican artist Paul O'Higgins (1904-1983), and Posada's contemporary and colleague Blas Vanegas Arroyo (1852-1917), with an introduction by the prominent Mexican artist Diego Rivera (1886-1957), published in Mexico City by Mexican Folkways.
Calaveras and calacas are closely associated with Day of the Dead celebrations, and this Posada monograph contains many examples.

Request Rules:
Tumblr media
Hola a todos!
My name is Crystal, your favorite Latina writer, and I have decided to open my own requests. I will also write my own fanfics and one-shots, but I think I'm ready to open my requests, so they should follow the following rules:
What fandoms will I write to?
Tumblr media
● Helluva Boss - (more specifically I will write Striker, I may write about other characters in the future, but only in SFW.)
● The Book Of Life - (it is one of my favorite movies and needs more content like this, I will write characters like Joaquín, Manolo, María, La Muerte and Xibalba)
I belong to more fandoms but for now I will only write for Helluva Boss and The Book Of Life.
I'll write:
Tumblr media
● Character x Reader
● Character x Character (Sometimes)
● Crossovers (Sometimes)
● Headcannons (whether they are romantic or just friendship).
● Female Reader (or AFAB reader mainly, but I can write about any type of reader)
● Fluff.
● Angst.
● SFW.
● NSFW.
● Smut/Lemon.
I'll not write:
Tumblr media
● Sexual violence.
● Discrimination against women.
● Discrimination against LGBT+
● Nothing related to children in any romantic or compromising situation. IF YOU ASK FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND REPORTED!
● If you have any weird philias, I'm sorry but this is not your blog!
Tumblr media
Note: I also wanted to say that if you notice spelling mistakes, it is because my English still needs to improve, since my native language is Spanish. So if you speak Spanish, you can ask me your requests and I will gladly write to you!
I want this space to be comfortable for everyone. Including the Latin American community.
- Crystal ❤️‍🔥

Comment: tell me you don't know any Catholics without telling me you don't...
I'm cackling. This is the FUNNIEST thing said to me this week, if not the entire month.
The implication that I, a person who was baptized and raised Catholic, don't know any Catholics? HYSTERICAL.
I'll make sure to tell my family, I think my great aunt who used to be a nun would get a laugh out of that. Also really weird that my grandparents have a papal blessing for their 50 year wedding anniversary if they aren't Catholic, but what do I know?

An interesting thing about Manolo/Zatz…
Alright I need to talk about something… Manolo and Zatz are really interesting and complex characters. They seem to hide in their families shadows a lot.
Let’s start off with something I noticed with Manolo or the old tbol covers.
I’m pretty sure we all seen the old tbol cover but if you haven’t
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fresh huh. These (especially the top two) seems to show that Manolo seems to hide behind the darkness, or if we wanna say trapped instead.
Now the one I wanna look at is this one
Tumblr media
Al you can kinda see, Manolo is reaching out tawords Maria who is reaching out for him.
This reminded me of sm. This
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These drawings of Zatz is from Jorge doing a deviant art tutorial.
Jorge describes Zatz’ hair as a hand reaching out and showing himself.
Which if you go back to the poster, is a lot like Manolo.
In both films they seem to hide behind their family’s or etc. not showing their true selves at the end.
Which comes to Maria and Maya. They are both shown to he rebellious girls who couldn’t care about less about relationships.
The thing I love about them is that they didn’t fall in love with Manolo and Zatz until the end.
If you like the watch Jorge’s interviews and cons, than you know that at the end of one of them he said
“The princess saves the prince”
This is hinting tawords Maya saving Zatz. Which if we go back to the poster, Maria is saving Manolo.
In all, Maria, and Maya, and the light that saves Manolo, and Zatz, who are hidden behind this darkness and are scared to be their true selves.
