One might think that having the most incredible, most creative, most skilled, and most beautiful girlfriend in the world would be hard, but it wasn't for Luka. What would destroy the confidence of hyper-sensitive boys only bolstered Luka's, knowing that such a wonderful girl picked him.

He had no idea what he'd done to deserve Marinette, Paris's sole hero and the guardian of the miraculouses, but he wasn't going to argue.

"Which one are you showing me today?" he asked, leaning forward on her chaise lounge.

She grinned, raising a finger to gesture for him to wait. "You'll see! I don't want to spoil the surprise."

There was a bounce in her step as she walked over to the Miracle Box, her hands gliding along its edges before opening it up. Luka kept himself rooted in place, fighting the contagious excitement but unable to help tilting to the side to try and see better.

It was common for her to show him the various miraculouses in the box and explain their powers, ever since her master had handed it over to her and left the country with his own lover. It wasn't just for fun either - even if they did have fun doing it - as Luka was Marinette's hero of choice when she needed someone to wield a miraculous for her.

She insisted every time that it was a completely unbiased decision, that it wasn't her fault that he could fit so many of them, and who was he to question a guardian?

Marinette turned to face him, holding up a shiny black ring and waving it about. Gesturing at it with her free hand, she explained, "This one's special. It's not safe to use since it's one of the ones Hawk Moth wants, but who knows? You might need to someday."

There was a playfulness to her voice that made him raise a brow, but he suspected that it might have to do with the thought of actually seeing him transformed. He wasn't oblivious to the once-over she'd give him any time he transformed with a miraculous he hadn't used before, and he'd do the same back to her.

That was because, rather than simply explaining the miraculous to him, she would ditch her earrings and don it herself like some superhero version of dressing up for one's significant other. While Luka knew nothing of fashion nor design, he could still appreciate seeing her in something new.

Marinette slipped the miraculous onto her finger, raising it up to watch it shrink just enough to fit her. It transformed, disguising itself to be a simple, rose gold ring, and out came another kwami for Luka to meet.

Said kwami, easily fitting the black and cat theme the ring had previously given off, yawned and stretched now that he was properly outside of the box. His green eyes popped open, tail swishing curiously as his cat-like pupils took in the scene before him.

"Oh, we're finally doing this, huh?" he asked, flying over to Luka. He looked him up and down, then went closer to bat at his bangs. "Hair's soft at least. Would make a nice bed."

"Plagg," Marinette called sternly, putting her hands on her hips.

Luka moved his head to look past Plagg and smile at her. "It's alright. He's not bothering me."

Also, though he didn't say it out loud, meeting each kwami felt vaguely like trying to impress future in-laws, so he gave all of them an extra dose of his patience.

"Good kid," Plagg said, hovering around Luka in a circle before laying himself atop his head. "Just keep the mushy stuff to a minimum whenever I'm here and we'll be fine. I got sick enough hearing her talk to me about it."

Luka looked up despite his inability to actually see Plagg. "You were talking about it?"

"Well—"

"Plagg!" Marinette burst out, panicked. "Transform me!"

Luka heard a mischievous snicker just before Plagg was pulled off of his head and into the miraculous. The rose gold ring returned to its original shape and color, light flowing out of it and transforming Marinette.

As if the fake cat ears that popped out of her head weren't already cute enough, her hair grew in length and fashioned itself into a long braid to represent a cat tail. Lining her black bodysuit were streaks of blue, accentuating her body properly as one would expect of a future fashion designer, and her sclera turned to a lighter blue while her pupils turned into vertical slits to mirror Plagg's.

Luka didn't realize his mouth had opened at all until she strutted up to him and closed it with a clawed hand. He smiled warmly, not subtle about looking her over.

"I love the black and blue," he said, doing his best to compliment her as an artist might. "The blue stripes harmonize with your eyes."

The pink blush didn't do anything for the look she was going for, but he cherished it all the same.

"Thanks~" Her voice came out a little higher-pitched, shyness blending with her earlier confidence. She reached out for him, placing her hands firmly on his shoulders, then began to let herself up onto his lap.

It wasn't usual for them to cuddle during her mini lessons - not right away, at least - but muscle memory kicked in nonetheless and his hands found her sides. Her hair brushed his skin as she buried her face into the crook of his neck and slipped her arms around his back.

"I didn't know you could give lessons from there," he said jokingly, though his own voice was a smidge higher as well.

She didn't joke back, which he found a little odd. Beyond the sound of her shuffling to get even closer to him, she wasn't making a noise of any sort.

He rubbed her sides in tiny circles with his thumb, calling out curiously, "Marinette?"

Now, Luka had a mental log of all of the various sounds that Marinette made over the course of them knowing each other. She had sounds for when she was jumping in excitement, for when she slept, for when she was distressed, and for when she was being cuddled.

But the sound she was making at that moment was entirely foreign to him. It was low, rumbling, and consistent, repeating in almost a rhythmic pattern. He tried to place it without getting distracted by the way she almost seemed to be vibrating against him, but then it clicked.

She was wearing the cat miraculous. He didn't have a cat himself, but they did go to a few pet shelters one day to see the animals and talk about if they'd want one when they were old enough to move out together. He still remembered getting to pet one of the cats, rubbing its side not unlike what he was doing with Marinette.

She was purring.

"Mmm," she hummed, sensing that he'd gotten it, "I...I know I'm not always good with words. We're dating, but nothing I really want to say comes out the way it is in my head. Even when you don't say anything, you can still play music, so..." She sighed, nuzzling him. "I wanted to find a way to speak your language?"

Luka froze, blushing as he looked down at her. Plagg's earlier words came back to mind - that she had been talking to him about their contact - and he realized that it must've been this: that she wanted to know if cat heroes could purr so she could tell Luka what she felt without words: that she was comfortable with him, that she loved him, and that she felt happy whenever he touched her.

Luka wasn't self-conscious about his role in the world, but at the end of the day he was just some guy. He wasn't conventionally attractive like a celebrity on a magazine, he had what many would consider a lower class part-time job, and he didn't have any presence in the public eye. He didn't have any problem with that - less eyes on him meant more time he could eye Marinette - but it left him awestruck yet again thinking of how many boys must've been after her (or how many stupid ones weren't) when her gaze focused solely on him.

"...Luka?" Marinette called when he didn't say anything. The purring stopped as she raised up enough to look at him, the fake cat ears drooping in concern.

He snapped himself out of his reverie. Smiling at her, he took one hand off her side to cup the back on her head, bringing her in to press their foreheads together. He took a deep breath, finding calm in her scent, and assured, "You're already speaking my language, Marinette. Music doesn't mean playing an instrument or purring like a cat does. You're the song in my head, all the time, even if you're not singing."

"Really?" She sounded skeptical.

With a chuckle, he asked, "Do you want to know what my favorite part of your look is?"

She perked up, pulling back so he could better gesture at said part. "What? What is it?"

His smile tilted up to the side in a smirk. He brought a hand to her face, pressing a finger to her lips. "Right here."

Her brows soared, eyes going wide. She pushed his hand away and turned her face to the side so she could laugh, even as her face flushed. "That didn't change at all!"

He pulled her back in, eyes glinting in amusement but no less genuine. "So? You don't need words to tell me how you feel. I know with everything you do for me, and the sounds you make are already music to my ears, especially when we're..." His eyes flicked to her lips instead of saying anything further.

Her blush deepened, her claws raking shyly through her bangs. "S-so... all that practice of hugging my pillow and trying to imagine it was you to see if I could purr? That was all for nothing?"

She asked it lightly, but Luka had never been jealous of a pillow before that day, knowing that it got the experience before him.

"No," he replied with a shrug. "I love hearing whatever you want to give me, but you're already so much. You're more than enough."

He could see her visibly swallow, the stiff embarrassment melting away as she relaxed against him. She bit her bottom lip - carefully due to her fangs - and slowly slid the back of her claws up his stomach, his chest, then over his shoulder.

"Then—do you want to hear a little more?"

It was a request, not a question, and a request he was happy to indulge in.

He kissed her, immediately rewarded with a squeak that transitioned smoothly into a moan. Whenever one of them were in superhero form, it was inevitable that the other would be underneath them eventually due to the strength imbalance, thus leaving him laying flat on the chaise lounge as she kissed him back.

He could hear the purr starting up again, but he much preferred the tune they were creating with their mouths.

In the first season of MCSM, Lukas has had a place with the Ocelots for a long time. He knows they have rude tendencies that he doesn't agree with, but they really are his only friends. He's only "friendly" with other people. He admires people like Petra and Gabriel, who, to him, seem strong, capable, and liked by everyone despite not trying to get people to like them. (Bro doesn't know he fits that description.) At first, he's kind of scared of the change. Changing groups, changing teams. He doesn't mind helping Jesse, Olivia, and Axel, but the three have very clear opinions on him.

Jesse is very friendly and seems to welcome Lukas in easily. Olivia is wary, but she's willing to let Lukas prove he's not like his friends. Axel, though, feels threatened by Lukas' presence, and he makes that very clear. To Axel, Lukas is the same as the other oceleots. He sees Lukas' genuine kindness as a facade, a way to make fun of Jesse, Olivia, and Axel, and to probably eventually betray them. (By this point, I'm assuming the Ocelots and Jesse group have known each other for a while, and the Ocelots have always bullied them because of how familiar they seem with each other.) Lukas knows his friends aren't the best, so he tries to be lenient with Axel, and show him that he's not trying to bully or trick them. But Axel doesn't want to accept that Lukas can be good.

When people - or people's friends - have been beating down on you for a while, it's tough to trust them. Lukas feels like he's failed at trying to be friends with Jesse group, so he tries to leave. I think that maybe it was around here he was thinking about if he'd been too complacent with his friends. Letting them bully people. Not really thinking for himself or sticking up for anyone, really. And he feels ashamed, and angry at himself, and Axel. (Lukas is only 18, i think, so he's still a teenager. His decison making brain part is nottt done yet guys.)

He has trouble sleeping that night because of it, also because there's a command block wither flying around somewhere wrecking the world, and Petra is left back at the convention (?) With it. Lukas seems like the type of guy to blame himself for Petra being left behind. I think he was probably thinking to himself the whole time that if he was strong enough, Petra would be safe. That it was his fault she was in danger. He probably doubted his abilities a lot too, thinking things like, "If Petra was here she would've helped Jesse solve this faster," "If Petra was here she could've easily found a different route," basically just him thinking Petra is more useful.

If you look at it from Lukas point of view, the whole journey seems very easy to Jesse. Jesse picks up fighting easily despite not having much training or experience. Jesse brings the Order of the Stone together. (I think the conflict over Lukas holding the Order of the Stone tracker was partially due to Lukas being jealous of Jesse, feeling useless and wanting to help. Even if he's jealous, Lukas had grown to admire Jesse and wants them to trust him.) Jesse seems to be the designated leader. With the Ocelots, it might’ve appeared to people that Lukas was the leader, but that was not true at all. It seems like Lukas had mostly always been a pushover, and him standing up for people and himself was something new.

At the beginning of the game, when Lukas wishes the Jesse trio luck, the Ocelots look extremely annoyed with him. (Especially bitchass Aiden he needs to trim those eyebrows.) Lukas arc in the first season seems to be him finding himself and gaining confidence similar to the Jesse group's overall arc because the Ocelots have been stamping all over him and pressuring him into going along with things.

But why?

Why does Lukas let them do those things?

He hates conflict.

He hates making people angry. Even if Jesse takes the route that makes his life a living hell , the worst he does is stomp off angrily and immediately forgive jesse in season 2. He's way too forgiving, and that's why it takes so long for him to go against Aiden, who is the actual leader of the Ocelots.

While Lukas is a pushover, Gill is much worse. He easily lets Aiden take control of the situation and is afraid of him. Aiden seems prone to lashing out when people don't act like how he wants them to, very likely verbally attacking Lukas and Gill when they "step out of line." It doesn't seem like he has gotten physical yet, but Gill was likely afraid of that even possibly happening, so he just let Aiden push him around.

When Aiden betrays Lukas, it would be wrong to say that Lukas didn't see it coming. Selfishly, in his opinion, he wanted to give him just one more chance. One more chance to show that he could change. But then, Aiden forms the Blaze Rods. They ditch him. After they've been friends for so long, Lukas is clueless about what he wants to do. He's angry, frustrated, and cries. For a while, he's aimless, unsure of what to do. His old "friends" are gone, so he doesn't have them to go back to. But Jesse, Olivia, and Axel are there. He considers going to Beacontown, saying hi. But what then?

It's not like he's part of their group.

They're heroes. He doesn't belong with them.

With all this free time on his hands, he decides to write. He has no one to talk to, so where else will he put what he thinks? Lukas had been putting off interacting with Jesse in a non small talk way until he rescued Jesse from the giant ass statue thing. He was too afraid to hear the possibility that Jesse might not want to be friends with him. He hates being alone for so long (Radar is there too but he probably feels mostly isolated) But, in season 2, Jesse welcomes him back, and Lukas finally earns a place somewhere, a place he made on his own.

I adore superhero Alejandro having the cat like eyes, in fact I do think cat like qualities (e.g, the purring in the show) are very fun detail. I going through how to refer to superhero Alejandro like do I use the superhero name, do I call him cat Alejandro, or I was about to can him furry Alejandro for a moment.

Hypothetically, what if Noah was similar to Luka in in the show, as in knew their (or some of their) identities. I mean if he is doing this super spy work, I think it seems fitting.

What would the tone be? Like normal miraculous very fun, light hearted and goofy, or more like total drama. When u brought up Noah being the assistant I wondering if they were in uni or still high school, and then I remember Chris would probably hire teens so he could pay them pennies.

Also I do hate the favoritism in the actual show, like there is no attempt to hide it. I like the line of ladybug saying “Im better than both of you,” talking to the two chat noirs in copycat always urks me. Though I feel I might just being personally insulted, I hate it when characters r treated as one being superior.

(What? They're holding hands? ...no they aren't. Actually, yes they are. To.. show the power of friendship? And try to make Jesse want to join)

This really got me going! I got carried away again and drew more-- had no idea how to do Lukas' hair though... and I have NO idea what that thing around his waist(hip?) is supposed to be. So I just drew it as it was seen on the game. (I have more under cut :p)

Anyways, I really think it would've been nice if the people chipped by PAMA was smiling(like always). But it's a welcoming smile. A real smile, not forced. I thought about how it would work and I imagined PAMA using the person's memories.

PAMA would keep some of the chipped person's happy memories, and repeat it. Also makes the person easier to control. And the smiling face helps with other people getting closer to the chipped person due to their smiling face maybe?

So... Petra and Lukas is just playing 'pat a cake' as like.. five year-olds or something on repeat

Side profiles? Nope. Never heard of em. (It's my first try lol)

Alright. So I tried to design Petra's armor. Only to learn that it seems to be based off an actual kind of armor??!? Let me introduce you to~ banded plaitmail(probably?..)

Pretty similar. So I got help from this to design and draw Petra's armor. Probably need to fix a lot of the armor still.

Plus!!

I think it would have been pretty hilarious if PAMA just.. gave up half way and switched to trying to seduce(?) Jesse.

Jesse is.. flustered. But her friends are also being possessed by a evil computer at the moment. So she be pissed at the same time

I was in the first ever audience for Companion!

Here are some of my reactions! (Spoiler-free because I want to be respectful to the filmmakers!)

•I genuinely loved this movie, it was surprisingly hilarious (I would call it a sci-fi horror comedy?) and the cast were all fantastic in their roles

•The movie expertly shifted between a light, comedic tone and a dark, tense tone throughout. Sometimes the shift would happen on a dime and it would still feel natural to the progression of the story

•The costume design was great! It really stood out to me. I know Sophie Thatcher said she got to have a lot of creative input into her character’s outfits and it shows! Her character had a very 50s-60s inspired look with big headbands and color coordination, I could definitely see the Jane Birkin inspiration. I thought it fit really well with some of the themes of the movie and the nature of her character

•There are some twists in this that I absolutely was not expecting at all and I could tell by the rest of the audience’s reactions that they were just as caught off guard as I was. But they feel very natural and seamless at the same time!

•Sophie. Thatcher. Is. An. Incredibly. Talented. Actress. Her character goes through a major shift halfway through the film and her ability to play both the light and dark— and the meek and powerful— parts of Iris was stunning

•Also love sociopathic Jack Quaid and puppy dog Lukas Gage

•No one drops an F bomb like Sophie Thatcher

•Love that this movie doesn’t take itself too seriously

•There was a QA with the director/writer and producers of the film after the screening (with the director of Juno as a moderator which was exciting for me!) and the director, Drew Hancock, said this is his directorial debut! He praised Sophie Thatcher extensively, calling her extremely talented and otherworldly. He also told a funny story about filming a particular scene outside in 27 degrees Fahrenheit with Sophie only wearing shorts and a short sleeve top (and she had to speak a foreign language convincingly throughout it!) and I am so impressed by that alone because I think I would cry if I had to do that (I’m convinced I’m going through hypothermia when it’s 65 degrees outside)

Highly highly recommend going to see this movie whether you’re a Sophie Thatcher obsessive or not, it’s a really fun watch.

In theaters January 31st!

Finally, there is someone who can keep up with him in the bedroom. Also, destroy him.

In order to slow you down, he does have you take a shot of Akvavit (snaps) every hour or half hour (more depending on how rough you are riding him or sucking his soul out). This, however, does backfire often because you’ll be all fired up again & you’ll want to peg him, but considering he’s bossy, he will ‘guide’ you on how to do it properly.

Denmark even approached Japan with: “Hey! I need help making a machine that can slow Y/N in bed?”

The dude has even tried to design a piece of furniture that can hold you in place so he doesn’t have to be bottom all the time, but he also hopes your libido would give out due to you having to contort your body so much.

He hates admitting that he needs a break from you. The fastest he’s ever recovered was 23 hours. The longest was 4 m

When he’s not as patient, he has cuffs on the wall, tables, or bathroom counters where he’ll keep you there so he can rail you without getting injured by you thrusting back or squeezing him for all he’s got. He loves that you can beat him in bed; just intimidated is all.

Finland 🇫🇮

He needs some time to adjust to your abundance of energy. As you pound into him ruthlessly, Tino just grins, bears it, and moans.

What the heck else can he do? He praises you a lot as well.

“Y/N you’re doing great ah! But maybe can you slow down?!” He’s silently praying to god you’re going to get tired.

Tino will want to do a lot of foreplay to start to satisfy some tension & just maybe make you not as rough and needy. (He does have a lot of costumes + props)

On occasion, he does like to tell bad jokes that will kill the mood if you’ve milked him for all he’s got seed-wise. Or if he’s feeling up to the challenge, he’ll take meds that will help him last longer so he can attempt to keep up with you.

Tends to like doing it in or near a sauna since it reduces your libido a little & relaxes you. Tino is able to keep his sweaty palm on your waist so that you won’t ride him like he’s a dead horse. (Also just makes getting to the aftercare a smoother transition)

Iceland 🇮🇸

Uhhhh like isn’t he a teenager still (he’s an adult I think????) ? Also don’t come for me but I also don’t know his human name I haven’t been able to find one on the hetalia Wikis so like yeah .

Mans just throws a pillow at you and fucking dips.

I'm not comfortable writing spicy stuff for him.

Norway 🇳🇴

Lukas can take your energy like a stoic in the eye of a storm. He can also appreciate the fact that, being a person with the gift of magical abilities, he has his own unique ways of subduing you. He utilizes his ties with his far friends to assist him in taking away some of your sexual energy and giving it to him so he can keep up.

Lukas has toyed with different potions to slow your libido down. Some had no effect. Others made his nights with you longer and ran him absolutely rugged. He’d be out of commission for a few weeks at times. The fastest he’s able to recover is 2-3 days at the fastest but nothing sooner than that.

Lukas thinks it a fun challenge to rail you & he likes to mysteriously whisper in your ear:

“You’re quite the challenge, Y/N, I like that.”

He tends to prefer you bouncing up and down on him so he can gauge how much longer he has to last while you're riding him, as your latest wave of thrusting can be particularly harsh. He may not say much else to you but grunt in pleasure and moan. He also likes to bite down on his lips and keep it to a minimum when he’s failing to keep up with you and edging towards passing out.

Sweden

From no words at all to talking all night long like he was at a never-ending ball, you are a type of blessing he didn’t know he needed.

The fact that you’ll slam him to the floor, the table, cabinets, bookcases, telephone booths, you name it; this tall 5’11 (182 cm) tall man is at your mercy and enjoys it.

Berwald practically sings your praises as if he trained himself all his life to be a tenor for the Royal Swedish Opera. “Oh yes! Y/N! Y/N! Please don’t stop!” Will be among his symphony for the night. He does communicate with you when you’re hurting his junk, being too rough, or thrusting too quickly.

The two of you do argue or pull sticks over who's going to be at the bottom for that session.

Like Denmark, he does like to have specialized furniture that he can use to wear you out & your high-ass libido.

I’m gonna cry… I had an entire analysis for this typed out but my wifi is shit so it refused to post😭😭 anyways, this is based off of the @ladybugout-au permanent superhero team. I decided against doing Luka’s Cadmeancio suit because I 1. Didn’t want to draw him in orange and 2. I was already pushing it with making a purple/red Neurofoxin. Only reason I made her purple is because natural coloring obviously doesn’t mean shit to the character designers if Juleka gets to be a purple red tiger. Anyways, here’s my take on their suits!

Hecattack: I wanted to diverge from the furry/bdsm influences Chat’s suit got, so I gave him looser fit pants, a hood and combat boots. His suit was lowkey inspired by Red Hood’s design because, dammit, DC may be super dark, but they know how to design characters well (something MLB could stand to learn from ಠ_ಠ) anyways, along with the hood and paneled top+cargo pants+combat boots, I gave him cat-shaped knee pads, similar to Ivan’s turtle shell knee pads. You will also notice a trend with a lot of my hero suit designs, which is fingerless gloves. Yes, this’ll take away from the cat claw thing Chat had going on, but I’m ok with that. To go with his punk/rock band aesthetic, he got combat boots with the signature cat paw steel toes. His tail is pretty much the same along with the ears. His mask is also different, covering the bottom half of his face. This also takes away from the cat sclera thing the original Chat had, but Luka isn’t a furry so�� also, the mask covering his mouth alludes to his calm nature and quiet personality, not feeling the need to play around, especially during a battle,which was where the original Chat erred most often. Luka also has very expressive eyes, so I wanted to push that, like, even if he doesn’t talk much, he’s still a good communicator. Plus, when cats are hunting, they’re quiet! Which the original Chat cannot relate to!

Ladybug: ok, so her suit is still pretty basic, since I wanted to stick with he AU’s canon description of her suit. The main bodice/legs are similar to the season 4 suit after she calls on the lucky charm, but the sleeves are slightly different. I also got rid of the “reverse” polka dots cuz they just look ugly imo. Her gloves are also fingerless, since I feel like that would 1. Lend better to doing yo-yo tricks and 2. They just look better (u_u) anyways, her hair is still the same, as well as her mask. It’s pretty basic but eh…

Neurofoxin: her design is also super simple, but I also wanted to veer away from the gaudy orange normally associated with the fox miraculous. If she can make her tiger suit purple and red, I can make her fox costume reddish purple!! She’s goth, she’s not gonna walk around in *o r a n g e*. And I stand by that. Anyways, like I said her suit is relatively simple, the panels of the suit modeled after Volpina’s actually, because despite how I hate Lila and her stupid sausage link hair, her volpina suit was pretty cute. Instead of giving her a jacket w/coattails or a belt/sash to be her tail, I decided to make it her hair, cuz even in civilian form it’s pretty long. I also decided that instead of a dark grey/black to purple, I’d make the tips the same cream as her “underbelly” panel, as I wanted to incorporate the cream in more than just that singular spot. I also pulled her bang back because even if she’s goth, she still needs to be able to see properly as a superhero. Plus, I like Juleka’s eyes, and I feel like Trixx would like her to show off more. Anyways, besides the morph suit and her hair being a bit longer than normal+a different color, she has a cropped leather jacket,same color as her suit. There’s also paneling on the side/back of her thighs/back that’s a darker red/purple color. Again, to go with her rockstar/alt aesthetic, I gave her combat boots as well, though hers are knee high, plus I forgot to draw the laces, but eh. Fun fact: I headcanon the Couffaine twins as being super tall for their age, but Juleka is taller than her twin for now+her boots are heeled.

Fukiya: for Kagami’s suit, I pulled inspo from someone else’s LBO AU fanart, although I can’t remember who’s it was. Originally, I was gonna go for a suit similar to Kagami’s fencing gear, but decided to go w the suit she has now so it’d be more reminiscent of a bee. I gave her a sleeveless, cropped kimono, the bottom of which has a honeycomb pattern and an ombré going from dark yellow to black. Her obi has two layers, the bottom layer being a bright yellow and the outside layer being black. Her sleeves are similar to Queen Bee’s, but with an added black line. Her legs are completely black with the exception of her knee pads, which are a bright yellow and octogon shaped. I wanted her to look more bee-esque than Queen Bee or Vesperia (her character design is 🤢) so I gave her the yellow torso with black limbs, than made the kimono collar thick to look like a neck ruff or smth. I honestly struggled with her design a bit but it looks ok in the end so I’m happy with it :) also, Kagami is the shortest because I said so!

Heavy Matal: oh, Ivan, you absolute teddy bear of a guy. I adore the Iván of this AU, he’s so sweet, a gentle giant, so I wanted to focus on making him look slightly softer than the rest of the heroes, despite being the turtle holder. I gave him his signature cargoes, although they’re pants instead of shorts when he’s transformed, a sleeveless hoodie, and “turtle”-neck compression-esque undershirt, the sleeves long enough to be, you guessed it, fingerless gloves! The only reason Kagami is the only one with full gloves is because I wanted to giver a more serious/conservative look. Mari’s been ladybug so long she deserves to have cute, fingerless gloves! Anyways, back to Ivan! His hoodie is two toned, like a turtle’s shell, with the front being a light green. It’s patterned to look like a turtle shell underbelly, with a nice big pocket to hold whatever. He wears elbow- and knee-pads, which are shaped like little turtle shells. He wears regular Vans-style tennies, and his mask is similar to Carapace’s, except it cover the majority of the front of his face (think Kid Flash), and is colored/patterned similarly to a box turtle, with red accents along his cheekbones and his little tuft of hair is his usual blond with an ombré to that same red. (Ignore the ear I forgot to color in plz, I don’t feel like editing anymore T-T)

Ok, so that’s it for today’s character designs! I’m working on redesigning pretty much everyone’s civilian and hero costumes. I haven’t mentioned on this blog, but on pretty much every Gabe!Salt fic I’ve read, I will tell you, whoever the hell designed most of the characters in MLB, you deserve to be fired and then arrested. I’m so sorry, but there’s no way ur gonna convince me Fashion Designer™️ Marinette Dupain-Cheng walks out of her house every day, wearing ugly ass ballet flats+”denim” jeggings in that shade of pink. No way. And don’t even get me started on Gabriel’s candy-cane, red pants and duck hair headass, because omg… that man is supposed to be a world renowned Fashion Designer™️, one of the best in Paris. IN. PARIS!! No fucking way. No way. I get, you want ur characters to be simple and easily recognizable, but that doesn’t mean they have to be ugly!! And I get it, Adrien’s supposed to have a model-off-duty look, but wth are those shoes? Plus, why does he never change for his photo shoots? He’s a MODEL! I get it, you can’t even spend money to change the transformation animation to whatever the characters are actually wearing but wtf??? If you were gonna have any kid’s show where we get to see a lot of different clothes/outfits, this would be the show!! Two of the main characters are fashion designers, one of the minor antagonists is the daughter of a fashion magazine owner and your other main character is a model. IN PARIS!! A city known for its fashion and “romance”. And ur telling me you can’t add a few more outfits to the show??? That’s called lazy writing/animation.

Ugh, sorry abt that rant, but the character designs genuinely piss me off. It’s bullshit.

I digress.

I’ll be releasing the main 4 kids’ redesigns probably on the 15th!!

belated apocalypse keys post

APOCALYPSE KEYS IS A VERY FUN GAME

i played The Summoned playbook - aka Cynthia - aka disaster 21 year old

(game DMed by @theresattrpgforthat and fellow players include @psychhound and @paladinbaby along with someone who does not have tumblr)

i’m not super good at explaining mechanics without like. showing someone the book but i wanna go over some highlights as a person who before this had only played; 1) dnd, 2) games with the people who designed them, and 3) solo games. i had read other games but never played them.

apocalypse keys was a bigger system where the worldbuilding was very collaborative and i loved that!! obviously mint did a lot of prep, but there were also a lot of spaces that allowed for player collaboration and exploration! mint also did a good job of directing and calling on people so it wasn’t one person (often me, tbqh) answering all the questions.

(i wouldn’t necessarily suggest this game for a beginner dm but it was leather friendly)

i liked the bond system and exploring that was a ton of fun!!!! we all made guys who suck bc that’s our brand

now onto the story! we got the chance to fight a library and i’m such a magical library bitch. the librarians is one of my fav shows. the game felt very cinematic and i think the mechanics leaned into that but so did mint and the other players!!!

cynthia very purposefully got tempted into becoming a harbinger of doom and i fucking loved it. i love strife and conflict and romance!!!

@psychhound played a character who was there when cynthia was summoned and they had a complex father-daughter relationship that was very very good

another pc was 15 and was majorly crushing on cynthia but cynthia was like. oh. baby. and that was such a good point of conflict of like. cynthia doing the right thing and it still breaking this teenager’s heart.

@paladinbaby played a character who had weird old people shit going on with luka’s character and that was fun as hell to witness.

this was my first time having safety tools so Directly used in a game and i def recommend them. in my home games we have each said our triggers and squicks so we don’t like. trample on em and ive used boundary and safety tools but we used them very explicitly in this game and that was def the best call!

this is a very long rambly game reaction (not review) because i cant stop thinking about these characters

(even in apocalypse keys i was essentially playing a support caster)

hiii again!!! i was wondering where u get ur (fashion) inspo from if u don't have pinterest? (iirc someone asked if u had and u said not yet) ^^ the characters' outfits are so pretty and they all align with their personalities!!!!!!!!

Well most of it is my brain, but when I’m stumped I totally go on Pinterest!!

Not to be a Marinette kinnie, but I absolutely LOVE character and fashion design. It’s so fun to do and that’s why I love redesigning every character I see EHEHEJ-

For outfits specifically, I usually have an “aesthetic” I wanna go for them. I think it’s like, the catalogue of dress up games and looking on Pinterest for character inspo for role plays that have been stored in my mind that I pull out whenever I wanna apply it to a character!

For Alya, I looked on Pinterest for design help, but for characters like Adrien and Marinette and Luka I already had an idea!

The Penacony brainrot is so real, here are some thoughts:

this place is Alice in Wonderland meets Las Vegas, like I always got Vegas vibes (and a bit of early micky mouse honestly) but actually playing the story gave such Alice in Wonderland vibes. The meme? The Jabberwocky. Misha? That boy gives such white rabbit vibes. Is Black Swan the Cheshire cat? Now that i think about it, ya.

Sunday, the bird man, he may be surrounded in holy imagery but ohhhh boy are the thoughts he gives me anything but holy (this is a half joke, but i seriously can't wait to see more of him)

I DON'T THINK FIREFLY AND ROBIN ARE DEAD! There, I said it finally. This theory has been eating at me. The meme has an attack that puts your characters in a "dead" state that allows revival, and the exact same animation for that attack plays during Firefly's death. Also it doesn't make sense to kill a character before running their banner, so I think those girls are coming back.

Sam. I like Sam. And Aventurine. Aventurine's design reminds me a lot of Luka from the company that shall not be named. Honestly all of the Penacony characters bring something I adore in characters, that glitzy overconfidence of a gambler who knows his stuff, that twisted salvation, ect.

Also, I don't think people really sleep in Penacony, none of the guest rooms have beds. I think maybe Penacony natives might have a real bed, because the idea that their options are dream world or napping in weird spots seems odd, but they might not. (It did give me a fun idea for a fanfic of a character that forces themselves to nap outside of the dreamscape because they suffer from chronic nightmares and don't want to become dependent on the dreamscape)

I have two thought on Sampo, the first is what the hell was that dream and why do those damn trash cans hit so hard.

Next, everyone was sure he was a masked fool, and lo and behold they were right. However, I would like to turn your attention to Black Swan's character quest. Firstly, something is coming to Jarilo VI, something so big it is cause SAMPO to take action. Sampo, who is known for skirting AROUND conflict, is putting himself in someone else's hands (someone he explicitly states he isn't too fond of) to take action. I don't doubt he'll stay behind the scenes, he isn't the kind of person to work in the spotlight, but whatever is coming has concerned him enough to ACT. This isn't a testament to how he feels about the planet, this is a testament to the oncoming danger. EDIT TO ADD- the reason i don't say this is a testament to how much Sampo cares about the people of Jarilo VI is because of how much he trusts them to handle themselves. He cares about them yes, but by taking action he's saying he doesn't think they can handle whatever's coming on their own even with the recent reconnection with the IPC and working to recover their old technology.

All this is to say WHEN IS THE NEXT UPDATE, please, god, feed me story.
