Here he is! The new monster boy for the monster museum! His name is Blaise, and he's a ghost butler! Here is some lore:

Blaise is an amnesiac spirit that wandered earth for an indiscriminant amount of time. Has it been days? Weeks? Even years? He hasn't a clue. He doesn't remember his life before death, nor does he exactly remember how he died. All he knows is that it involved fire. The farthest back he can remember is waking up in the remains of a burnt house, with his lips sewn shut. Thankfully, he remembered that he was able to communicate with sign language, possibly due to muscle memory. He isn't fully mute, and he can open his mouth ever so slightly to slip out a word or two, but his mouth always snaps shut almost immediately. He isn't sure why he can't speak, nor why he can't cut the threads binding his lips together. It frustrates him.

He wandered the city he found himself in, trying to ask people if they knew or recognized him, but it always ended with him being chased out of the frightened resident's homes by priests and spirit mediums. Soon rumors spread about an evil spirit with a flaming head that would burn people's houses down. Eventually, with nowhere to turn to, he found himself in a castle, still trying to find someone who could help him. That's where he met you, the lone heir to the throne who was secretly a fan of the occult. Instead of screaming and having a priest exorcise him like so many before, you welcomed him, asked him questions about himself, actually talked to him! When you found out he didn't remember his name, you gave him a name off the top of your head. Blaise. A bit on the nose, but he didn't hate it. When you asked him how well he could clean, he was puzzled. "What do you mean?" He wrote on the sheet of paper you offered him so you could communicate. That's when you made the offer that changed his whole life. Or, well... afterlife. You told him you'd let him work for you as a butler while you searched for a way to cure his amnesia and let him ascend to heaven. Since that day, Blaise has donned a butler's suit and has been at your every beck and call as you work to crack the mystery of who he was and how he died.

Bit of a selfish ask cause im curious, but tell us about your poppy playtime au?~

The Chapter 3 hype has calmed down enough that I can finally post this and hopefully not grab too much attention kfdgjkdf

This idea is simple

Poppy Playtime but the Protagonist is a Child.

Where they came from, why they're here, how they GOT here is all still a mystery. They just wandered in on a stormy night drenched from the rain.

Basic design concept, the hair could use some tweaking

The bigger bodies toys who are controlled by/follow the Prototype, specifically Huggy here at the start, are instructed to bring no home to the child like they would a usual intruder or Playtime employee and are instead tasked with bringing the kid to the Prototype to join the other children from Playcare. They're too small for the Grab Pack so it's up to the Bigger Bodies toys to solve puzzles and get them through the crumbling Toy Factory.

I remember thinking an AU where you slowly collect the Big Monsters instead of killing them would but fun but.. The longer I thought on it, the more I wanted to keep at least some element of the Horror part of Mascot Horror

While I don't have all the details yet, I imagine at the end of each chapter/the start of the next chapter, the current toy with the MC dies, sill reminiscing their deaths from the game itself but through different methods.

For example Huggy still falls to his death, but it's from catching the kid when they fell with Poppy when Mommy kidnaps her at the start of Chapter 2. Mommy is still squashed to death, but rather than in a gruesome machine accident, it's during the train crash at the end of Chapter 2. Catnap I haven't worked out yet, but I thiiiink it was probably Poppy's doing...

And every time a toy dies, the Prototype is there to retrieve them. MC is terrified of this skeletal hands that keeps taking away their friends, which is the main reason they work with Poppy in Chapter 3, as much as they can of course.

That's like. The big parts of it I can cover now. There's more but I'd like to refine it more as the game comes out before saying too much else.

i dont mean this as like some kind of gotcha or whatever im a big fan of both concatenative and AI vocal synths pretty equally but i am curious if in like 5-10 years we're gonna get like some sort of nostalgia for the vaguely underwater sounding cevio AI 1.0 early vocoder-esque engine noise. whats that quote about like cd skipping and tape grain. the thing that we hated the most in old tech is the first thing we try to recreate for nostalgia or something like that

the brit´s whole face went red and he went into a rather violent coughing fit due to having choked on his sip of tea.

once he has overcome that, he imediately snapped at the asker.

"you made me spill my tea, you impudent little whelp!!" he shouted. "do you even realize what you´ve done?! letting such an exquisite blend of herbs go to waste?! don´t you have any respect?!" he scoffed and waved his own question off. "oh what am I saying?? of course you don´t!!"

he went on like this for quite a while, berating the poor asker for his obvious lack of manners and etiquette..

..although, he quite clearly wasn´t mad about the tea in particular. rather, it was a diversion from the topic at hand, so he could sneakily avoid giving an answer to an, in his eyes, highly inappropriate question.
