Jayce x reader fluff or head canons?
Yesss! These headcanons are a mix of fluff and silly slice-of-life! Hope they're what you're looking for! <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jayce loves to be the little spoon when going to bed. It makes him feel safe and comfortable, and especially loves it if you’re smaller than he is. However, he isn’t opposed to being the big spoon, especially if you’re seeking comfort. He’ll hold you against his chest, snoring gently into your ear.
On that note, he falls asleep extremely fast. One of those guys who says goodnight, closes his eyes and drifts to sleep immediately. He’s also a heavy sleeper; if you’re not his alarm, it will take everything to wake him up in the morning.
He’s a morning person, to a fault. He wakes up bright and early to make tea and will be so chipper when you finally wake up and be unable to keep himself from pestering you in your half-asleep state. If you’re grumpy in the mornings, he’ll tease you, but make it up to you with a fresh coffee and breakfast.
He’s a decent cook, but not the best. If you teach him, he will want to cook you everything he can. Give him proper criticism, and he’ll reward you with a meal, and a kiss.
When it comes to public displays of affection, Jayce is a sucker for it. Especially when he becomes the Man of Progress and has more eyes on him. He loves holding your hand, pressing chaste kisses to your cheek and make sure everyone around knows that you’re his partner. Most people find it annoying, but he doesn’t care. (He probably tried to bring you up with him for his big speech, but they wouldn’t let him… such a dork)
Jayce is a hopeless romantic. He’ll fall in love with you so fast, when you smile at him for the first time, that’s when it hits. It’s his goal to make sure you’re the happiest person in the world.
If he ever works late or finds himself spending lots of time working on hextech, he’ll make it up to you. Whether it’s a night in alone (likely in bed), or spoiling you with gifts like roses and sweets. It’s impossible to not feel like the most important person in the world, with him around.
He gets you, along with Sky, to who watch him and Viktor practice their pitches for Heimerdinger and the council.
If you’re shorter than him, he loves resting his chin on the top of your head. Pressing kisses and breathing in your scent. It calms him.
Jayce is a sucker for neck kisses, loves giving them but prefers receiving. It’s the one way to really make him squirm. If you want to get him particularly riled up, breath against the back of his neck or ears, he’ll shiver and fold for you immediately. A great way to get your dominance over him.
He loves giving you massages, his calloused hands gliding along your skin. Fingers working deeply into the tissue of your muscles and working out all the kinks and knots. Likewise, he appreciates them in return, and he always makes atrociously loud noses when you work over his tight muscles.
When he can, he likes to wake you up with kisses. Peppering the skin of your bare shoulders with gentle pecks, warm breath tickling your skin. He could do it for hours, feeling the way your skin breaks out into goosebumps.
Jayce is the type of dork to get you a promise ring. He would make a grand gesture out of it, eyes big and sparkling as he slides the ring onto your finger. It wouldn’t last long, though, because the moment he sees it he’ll want to actually propose. He’s very big into commitment.
When he’s home, Jayce is shirtless. Always.
He smells like mahogany.
Lastly, he wants to be a dad so bad, but he fears he won't be good enough. It’s where much of his insecurities rise.

pt remus and medic reader becoming the mum and dad of the hockey team
YES
PT!Remus Lupin x team medic!reader who don't have favourites [681 words]
CW: hockey, NHL players being large sulky babies, PT + medic being tired af of them all (affectionately)
“Whoa whoa whoa, where the fuck do you think you’re going, Fenzy?” You demanded as you stepped into Benjy Fenwick’s way, causing a near domino-esque collision as the guys behind him were forced to come to a stop in their trek down the shoot towards the ice.
“Uhm…practice?” Fenwick answered in the form of a question, and Sirius craned his neck to see what the hold up was to see your brows pinch in disbelief.
“Fat fuckin’ chance; go sit down.”
“But doc-”
“Fenwick, you have a concussion, I said you were benched.” You pressed as you stepped aside, dragging Fenwick with you by the fabric of his practice jersey to let some of the guys carry on even though he completely towered over you in his skates.
“I thought that meant for games!” Fenwick whined.
“It’ll mean indefinitely if you don’t go get your kit off.” You threatened severely, and Fenwick let out a theatrical groan before he turned and muttered profanities under his breath as he stormed back towards the locker room.
“If you’re playing bad doc today, does that mean Lupin’s playing good doc?” Sirius quipped as he made his way toward you, only to hear Remus - already out on the bench overlooking the players warming up - shouting at Viktor Krum.
“I can see you tensing from here, Krum! So I’m gonna ask again, and I want the fucking truth: is that hip still bothering you!?”
“Is only sore when go down, Loops!” Krum called back.
“Well what good is a goalie going down if he can’t get back up again, Krum?”
You let out a sigh as you walked out of the shoot with Sirius to find Remus leaning against the boards like he was about ready to hop them himself as he shouted across the rink, and James who was standing on the ice watching the exchange with a look of morbid fascination.
“They’re gonna be the death of me, L/N, the death of me.” Remus muttered in disbelief as he kept his gaze locked on his problematic goalie.
“Well I just caught Fenz trying to sneak onto the ice.” You grumbled back as you stepped up onto the bench, Remus finally breaking his gaze to look at you incredulously.
“I thought you said he had a concussion?”
“He does have a concussion.”
“That son of a bitch!” Remus nearly shrilled, earning him an almost smile from you.
“Kids these days, am I right?” James offered from his place on the ice, leaning heavily against one skate as he rested both gloves on the top of his stick, and his chin on his gloves.
“That’s why we’re mom and dad’s favourite, Potts.” Sirius added with a wink as he skated by and tapped his stick to James’ ass.
“You do those stretches I asked of you, Black, then we’ll talk about favourites, yeah?” Remus called out to him, causing Sirius to let out a nervous squeak as he took off quickly down the ice.
A couple of drills later, James came and sat heavily on the bench in front of you, taking a few deep breaths and squirting gatorade into his mouth before turning to look at you. “Who is your favourite, doc?”
“I don’t have favourites, Potter.” You offered simply as you continued watching the players on the ice.
“Please.” Sirius argued as he climbed over the boards, nearly spilling onto the bench beside James. “Every mother has favourites.”
“Not when she’s parenting a bunch of sods.” You grumbled, causing everyone on the bench to let out varying sounds of protest.
“That’s rude, mom. You’re rude.” James lamented, earning him a swat up the back of the helmet from Remus.
“Don’t speak to your mother that way.” Remus scolded earnestly; his lips quirking only when he heard your snort of laughter from behind him.
“I hate when they gang up on us like this.” Sirius murmured to James.
“You thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Cling-wrapping their office later?”
James held out his fist as he nodded at his friend and teammate. “Cling-wrapping their office later.”

I’ll love you in every multiverse I Five Hargreeves x Reader
WC: 1,791
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Post Apocalypse Au! ( Yes Im writing another one )
Pt. 1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4
Summary: The Umbrella’s can understand jumping through time and all its rules, yeah fuck with the timeline and it’ll fuck you right back. But what happens when a portal opens up in the middle of the academy and outfalls a girl who claims to be Five’s wife from a different universe.
Disclaimer: This takes place after season one if Viktor didn’t blow up the moon.
The Umbrella Academy had saved the world from its supposed end. The siblings had lounged around the academy slowly letting reality set that they had avoided their demise. It was the next morning when each of them woke up to check their surroundings, making sure that doomsday wasn’t there.
Five went downstairs for his morning coffee when he saw Allison scrolling for flights on her phone and Klaus checking where was the next place he could buy drugs.
“Leaving so soon?” He questioned.
Allison looked up at him although happy to see her brother, guilty because he was right.
“I have to go see my daughter. After everything that has happened I need her now just as much as she needs me.”
Five nodded his head, understanding where she was coming from, although a little irked she wasn’t wasting any time running away.
A loud zap was heard and wind swirled toward the top of the room. A red portal had opened above the living room. The rest of the siblings (Luther, Viktor, Diego) had rushed down to see what the loud noise was. It was deja vu, like when Five had returned for the first time. In the portal, they could see a fight happening. Figures that had looked like them in a place that looked like their home. A woman’s back came close to the portal, they could see she was in combat but stood observing. Another man who they couldn’t identify, rushed forward and pushed the woman through the portal.
A girl who looked to be in her early twenties had fallen through. Her face was covered in soot, her hair black as night, and her eyes closed in pain. She was wearing a navy body suit that clung to her figure, and blood, not her own, stained the fabric.
The Hargreeves gathered around to observe this strange phenomenon trying to assess the danger. They were so used to people being against them, so why would this time be different.
You coughed loudly before sitting up, and each sibling tensed with adrenaline. The girl looked around the room with blazing blue eyes before she landed on the youngest Hargreeves.
“Five?” you questioned.
Everyone turned to look at Five.
Luther spoke up first, “You know her?”
“I have never met her in my life.” Five retorted.
The girl dusted off her suit before standing. “Well if you never met me, you either will meet me or I’m dead in this universe.”
“The names y/n , y/n Hargreeves.”
“I don’t remember our father adopting anyone else,” Diego said. He raised his knives, carefully ready to strike at any move she would make.
“That’s because I wasn’t adopted into this family. Married actually.” And with this, she held up her left hand, a beautiful diamond ring shone in the light with a gold band beneath it. The diamond was embellished with 2 smaller emeralds on the side, perhaps representing her lover’s eyes.
“Married? To who.” Viktor questioned.
“To him.” She looked back at Five.
“Well not to him, an alternate version of him. We met a few years ago and got married, nice seeing the family again,” she nodded her head towards the siblings.
“So what are you saying you guys are married in a different timeline?” Klaus asked.
“No, not a different timeline, a different universe.” She sat down on the couch.
Your brain felt like it was rattling against your skull, and your body ached. You took a minute to think. Fuck, it was going to be difficult to get back to your Earth, and to make things better you had no idea where to start.
“Alright before you all start firing questions at me, someone get me a cup of coffee, black please.” You threw a jacket that hung over the couch on you to hide the state of your clothes. "Allow me," The alternate of your husband said. Five quickly blinked the two of you into the car and began to drive, leaving his brothers and sisters dumbfounded. "So you and I, are married in another multiverse."
"Correct." "You look to be about my age, how come I haven't met you yet here." Surely he would remember someone as beautiful as you. "Well it's as I said, my version here could be dead or you might not have met her yet. That being said although 18 out of the 20 multiverses I have visited, we are together." "And the other two?" "In Earth 216, we are strangers, never have crossed paths, and never will. We simply live our lives with other people." Five's eyebrows furrowed. For some reason even if he didn't know you, he didn't like the idea of you with someone else. "In Earth 894, we were madly in love but our egos destroyed us, and we were never the same since." Five could tell there was more to that story but didn't press any further. "So tell me about us, how did we end up together." "I was Diego's friend first, he and I met in the police force. Diego kinda took me under his wing as I was the youngest graduate out of the academy. Perks of having a high IQ." Five raised his eyebrow at that. "Anyways, he invited me over after your father's funeral. " "Long story short, you fell in love with my charms and I was the only one who could tolerate you. We got married not too long after. It was a small wedding but it's my most precious memory. Our families had gathered together at the church no too far away from here. You cried on our wedding day by the way." Inciting a side glare from Five.
"But...that's where we had some problems." "Do you remember when I fell out of that portal?" Five nodded his head remembering seeing a fight in the alternate dimension. "Well, apparently some of the 43 are not too happy about their powers, nor happy about living among the common people, they believed themselves superior and it became chaos." The two of you arrived at Griddys. Five walked over to the side of your door and opened it for you. "Thank you, darling." You said with a smile. Five's heart spiked at the nickname. He shook his head at the feeling, obviously, it's just what you were used to calling YOUR Five. The two of you sat at the counter and ordered your coffees and sweets. You signed before pulling out a small stack of photos from inside your suit. "This is us and your family." The photo was a picture of you and Five on your wedding day. Five had never looked so happy. Beside him was Luther who he assumed was his best man, next to him was Viktor, Diego, and a man who looked like you. You must have caught his staring, "That's my brother Damien." He nodded and looked beside you. You were wearing a long white dress with intricate lacing, the dress was strapless with a square neckline and had a small slit on the side. Your veil was flipped over your head and flowed down your back. Beside you, was Allison as your maid of honor and two other women who he assumed were your friends. You weren't looking at the camera but at him. The next picture you gave him was a close-up of the two of you. You were the one taking the photo. His alternate self was older and had longer hair and facial hair, but he faced your side kissing your cheek affectionately. "This is my favorite photo of you." You handed him another photograph but this one didn't have you in it. This one was a picture of just Five and in his arms a little girl. She looked like you. Five gulped, a million questions ran through his head. Could this... could this have been his future if he didn't make that stupid jump? You said that not all multiverses are the same, you and him could never meet in this one. But that didn't stop his heart from hurting at the thought of missing out on a life of happiness because of his arrogance. "Before you jump to conclusions, she's not ours. She's my niece that we were babysitting. You just looked so sweet with her. You had always told me you wanted kids before but I wasn't ready." You had looked away sadly. In your home, Five always wanted to settle down and raise a family of his own, but you felt like you weren't ready. Now you regretted not because you weren't sure if you would ever be able to get back home. The two of you sat in silence drinking your coffee, both thinking about the what-ifs. "So...how did you end up here. I've been able to time travel but I've never thought about the possibility of multi-dimensional traveling." "As I said there was a fight between us, your family, and some of the 43. They called themselves the Ascendants. Believe to be the superior race." You took a deep breath before continuing. "The Ascendants had a man who could travel the multiverse with his own power, no special gear or machine need. We had planned to capture him but miscalculated. He was ready for us and he aimed to take out me, his biggest threat."
You took another breath before looking into Five's eyes. "I can warp reality. It is essentially in the name. I can manipulate reality itself, altering the fabric of existence according to my will." "But not without a cost," you continued. "Each time I control something, and the bigger it is, the more of my life force I use." Five sat in silence. This was a lot of information to take in. "So what now. How do I help you get back home." "I have...no clue. You were always the smarter one of the two of us. You were the one who had built the machine, of course before it was destroyed when Viktor took out the house." You sighed. It was going to take a lot of research and time to figure it out. "Well, I'm newly retired and have nothing on my plate so let's start at the library." He hopped off the stool and made his way to the door. "You coming?" He said turning to look at you. You smiled, he was a great man. Even if this Five wasn't your husband you loved him no matter what. You ran up looping your arm in his making your way out of Griddy's. ⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆⋆。‧˚ Pt 2 of this story is out now!
Author's note: I got tons of drafts just full of ideas I've had and never gone through with. I've been rewatching the MCU films and Spiderverse so that was kinda my inspiration for this one. If you like my work check out my other Five stories here! I also always appreciate comments and feedback! It definitely keeps me going. She's my Angel Pt1. Shes my Angel Pt2.

Sweet Moments (ModernAU!Jayvik x Reader)
Oh thanks for reading the 2 am ramblings of a coping depresso espresso bean that is me. This is me trying to get back into writing fics so it might be meh...but anyways enjoy you Jayvik lovers! Please do comment and send an ask if you'd like to see more/ what you want me to try and write hehe 🫡(Will probably be starting to write the stuff in this post I made before lol)
From the perspective this is written, i think it should be quite ambiguous the gender of the reader...I think...It also ends kinda suggestively
For the AO3 readers
Word Count: 650
Tumblr media
You know one might think that having two boyfriends is better than one, the more the merrier kinda thing you know? And yes, in your case, for the most part it is until you realize that having two scientific genius inventors for boyfriends comes with the fact that they take long nights in the lab, or perhaps in Jayce’s garage, building and fixing projects than they do in their own rooms.
But then, there comes the crash days. Where, after spending too many hours working, the boys end up crashing and falling asleep either at their work stations, or in the living room. It does end up giving funny moments that you managed to keep in your phone. A picture of Jayce asleep in front of the fridge, forehead stuck to the door and drool coming out of his mouth. Viktor asleep on the workbench in the garage holding onto a long cooled coffee in his mug.
But the cutest they’ve been are during the times they crash on the couch placed in the garage. Placed there by her own suggestion so they can remember to take a break every now and again, and for Viktor to have a comfortable place to rest at for his leg. You managed to catch them both asleep on the couch, Viktor on top of Jayce and after placing a blanket on them, you snapped the picture that to this day is your lock screen wallpaper.
Though lacking in knowledge of the sciency techy part of these two’s work, you are able to contribute in ways that the boys appreciate, even if they forget to say it. One of the biggest contributions being the treats you bake and bring for them.
Some of which you are carrying now, some muffins and cookies with sandwiches as well, you found that sandwiches would be the best choice as they won’t need heating up and the boys can just grab one quickly.
”Darling, you know you don’t have to bring us food all the time” Viktor says.
”It’s alright Vitya, I love making them for you two, I don’t want you to die of starvation”
”HEY, we eat food-” Jayce chimes in from behind you.
With a quicK turn of the head and a slap to his bicep you interfere, “Talis, cereal and cup noodles are NOT a good source of daily nutrients for heaven’s sake”
Feigning being hurt Jayce clutches his arm and dramatically falls back, “OWwww how you wound meee oh nooo I might dieeeee”
You roll your eyes and hear Viktor’s chuckle, “And don’t even get me started on you Viktor, you need to get some more rest, your eyebags grow everyday, I might come back and you’ve become a raccoon!”
”Alright alright mom, we’ll get some sleep and eat but first” Jayce grabs the container of food and sets it on the table, then picks you up at the same time, earning a yelp from you.
”JAYCE PUT ME DOWN!” You fight, thrashing against his arms.
”Nope!” He laughs, before heading towards the couch where Viktor watched, amused, “Bedroom?” Jayce asks, to which Viktor gets a glint in his eyes, “Why not it’s been a while hasn’t it?”
”Guys! I just made those cookies an hour ago!”
Viktor laughs and takes the container of goodies from the table, “Guess they’ll be coming with us then”
With that, Jayce and Viktor head to the door out of the garage and head upstairs to Jayce and Viktor’s shared bedroom, where Jayce lets Viktor get situated on the bed first and then places you gently on the bed.
“You take such good care of us darling, let us take care of you” Viktor whispers in your ear, before grabbing your chin and gently kissing you while Jayce peppers soft kisses on your neck.
”Now just relax darling, and let us do the rest of the work”

Assymetrical Symphony - Part 8
Tumblr media
Universe: Arcane (LOL)
Pairing: Viktor x reader
Summary: You had been on the rooftop with Jayce and the Herald and somehow you were sent to a place where things can be different with your help
Disclaimers and Warnings: If you want me to tag you on the chapters let me know! Also leave a comment with your thoughts :D Not finished, not proofread. English isn't my 1st language. All I know about LOL is from google and all I know about Arcane is taken from the show, so inacuracies will be plenty. I have a sort of idea on how to I'm gonna go with magic and runes, so bear with me. The reader will be written as GN (going by they/them) to get everyone involved, but if you see any discrepancies let me know.
AN.: Should I post this on AO3? Maybe? Thoughts? Or do you guys like this format??
Part 1 • Part 2 • Part 3 • Part 4 • Part 5 • Part 6 • Part 7
• ··········· • ············ •
“Drink this.” Viktor placed a steaming white mug filled with a pinkish, translucent liquid. You looked up at him, curious. “Don't worry. It’s just tea.”
Bringing the mug to your lips, the warm liquid filled you with comfort and calmness. It smelled and tasted sweet, but you couldn't place what flavor it was. Your brain was half turned to mush from the meltdown at the memorial.
Viktor had gently dragged you as best as he could to the Academy, not that you were fighting him. There was fuzziness that still lingered in your mind, and although his hand on your wrist felt like it had thorns, your willingness to fight had disappeared, your head tired and foggy.
Once inside the Academy and near the lab door, he silently opened it and led you inside, apologizing for the state of disarray. He had grabbed something from the back of a chair and mentioned a wheeled bench for you to sit in. You did, and he placed a blanket on your shoulders. Heavy, thick wool that smelled of mint and cinnamon.
You laid your head on the table, cheek touching the surface of it, your eyes looking out the window, letting the cold surface relieve you from the headache that was about to burst.
You started drawing runes on the table. You found, at some point during one of your worst nights, that the fluidic movement of the runes calmed you. Sort of like making lists in your head. Unless you intended for it to go free, it only shined for some seconds and dissolved into the air, creating blue embers that floated upwards and disappeared.
Viktor's eyes, you also noticed, behind the blue shimmer, never left the hand or the runes.
Looking around at your surroundings, you found that the lab was indeed a mess. Not that you thought that Viktor as Jayce could ever be tidy. No matter the universe, these two brainiacs have this whole lab in an 'organized chaos' situation.
“Your desk is a mess.” You noted, staring at a pile of blueprints, tools, and papers.
“I wasn’t expecting guests.” He told you quietly without malice.
You turned your head to lay your chin on your arm, looking at him as he sat in front of you, sipping his own cup of tea. A tired chuckle came out of your mouth at the picture of Jayce with a mustache drawing in ink.
“If you were, would you have cleaned up?” You blinked up at him.
“Maybe…” you blinked at him again, raising one eyebrow. He leaned into the table and smiled. “No. Actually, would you mind if I worked? I wasn’t expecting to come back to the lab tonight, but since I’m here... eh... might as well.”
“Pretend I’m not even here.” You told him, once more turning your head to lean your cheek into your arm and look out the window.
“If you want more tea, there’s more in the kettle.” He pointed to a small table next to where you sat that had a kettle and some half-eaten sandwich on top.
You stared at the window again, waiting for the attack on the memorial to happen. However, by your mental calculations, it should have been done and over with.
Several minutes passed, the only sounds heard being Viktor’s writing and the handling of his current invention. When it was clear nothing was going to happen, you took a deep breath and looked at Viktor.
(Evelyn Trouble - Made of Rain)
I haven't seen the moon in days... Been so busy changing my ways.
He had taken off his jacket and was hunched over his desk tinkering with something, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and a small bandage wrapped around one of his forearms. The dark color of his shirt contrasted beautifully with his pale skin, and you noticed his vest hung open. His hair was a mess, sticking out in all places, especially the little hairs near his neck, the ones he liked to curl when he was thinking. You couldn’t help but give his back a sad smile.
I haven’t cried in forty days. Though inside I am made of rain.
Had this been another time, another place, you’d be leaning into his shoulder blades, annoying him, careful not to hurt him, only heavy enough for him to huff and puff at you being a nuisance. You realize now how much you missed this man.
Oh baby, baby, that’s ok. It has always been this way.
“I can feel you staring.” Viktor remarked, not looking up.
“You have no proof of such accusation.” You moved so you could lean your cheek into your hand.
He touched a magnifying glass the size of your hand with the tip of a screwdriver. It was pointing straight at you. You narrowed your eyes and scoffed, but the corners of your mouth tilted upwards.
Slowly you rolled the bench towards his desk. The squeaking of the heels announced your movement, making him stop his work to look at you over his shoulder. It took you a comically long amount of time to reach him, making a curious Viktor swivel in his stool to look at what you were doing. Once you arrived, he shook his head and rolled his eyes, moving himself to the side so you could sit next to him.
“I am only allowing you to sit here because this is for your mother.” He announced going back to his calculations.
“Had no idea.” You placed an elbow on the table and leaned into your hand.
“Well, now you know.”
You looked at his desk, noticing the differences between your Viktor and this carbon copy of him. Less coffee mug stains, a lot more little notes, some with actual notes, others with his telltale hatching. His pencil cup was filled with colored pencils and colored chalk. The Viktor you knew was an avid fan of white chalk and charcoal pencils. Under piles of paper, you spotted a newspaper crossword puzzle half made, and on the corner of the desk, a dusty old framed photo of him and Jayce. You knew that photo from Jayce’s desk, not his.
A purple pencil had rolled over as Viktor tried to reach for it and was about to fall from the table. Instinctively, you used magic to make it roll back to the inventor’s hand with a soft breeze. His neck snapped to look at you.
“What?” You blinked at the quickness of his movement.
“Nothing.” He cleared his throat and went back to his work.
A couple of minutes passed, and he seemed to have forgotten about your illegal use of magic inside the lab he shared with a councilor. You kept watching him work, his deft hands working with small wires and cogs. He was ambidextrous in this dimension. Your Viktor would be jealous.
“Thank you, Viktor.” You began, and he looked at you again, his pencil stopping midway through a note. “And I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry?” He turned fully to you, his knees bumping into yours. Neither of you moved away.
“You’re going to have to put up with a... healthcare provider...”
“I don’t even think Jayce saw us leave. Besides, you weren’t exactly... able... to leave for yourself. I would not be comfortable if I had just let you walk out in your state.”
“I’m sorry about that too. I haven’t had one of those in a while. I thought they were over..." You explained, soothing yourself by gently swaying the stool from side to side.
“Is it because of the…” He pointed to the hand. You shook your head. “Mmm, maybe you just need rest.”
“Pot meets kettle.” You blurted out and heard him chuckle.
“Actually, yes.”
He went back to the tinkering, and you laid your head on your arms again, watching him work. There had always been something relaxing in watching either Viktor or Jayce work, especially if they were deep into what they were doing.
There was this laser focus on the work; their movements became sharp and precise, and it was like they had honed in their bodies to only move when extremely necessary. Their expression changed as they worked, eyebrows furrowing, eyes widening, and a little smirk would grow on their lips when they figured out something or turn into a frown when they did something wrong. If you looked at them for a long time, it was like magic; their hands moved, and something appeared.
Once again, your mind started drawing runes on the table; this time you let them go. A pencil was being whooshed away from you, and when it rolled back, you did it again.
“Does it hurt?” Viktor asked, not looking up from his paper.
“What?”
He opened his palm, the pencil he had stuck on his middle finger and thumb, and shook it. He meant your glowing member.
“Oh. No, not really.” You placed your glowing hand on the table, palm down, fingers spread. “It tingles, but… It’s not uncomfortable. It's soothing even.”
“Mmm… do you know why it glows?” He asked, his eyes landing on your hand, his paper forgotten. You chuckled.
This is what he wants: to study something new. You would happily oblige him; he had been incredibly accommodating. He had brought you to his second home and even let you sit next to him as he worked.
To you, this—all of this—the sights, the sounds, the mess in the lab, the somewhat tired man sitting next to you—this was your normal.
To him you were a stranger; your presence was uncommon in his space, someone who was naturally yielding something he had only managed to create artificially.
“I do.” You turned your hand over, and the white line of the rune there glowed a little lighter. “The rune makes me able to…write…without physical means.”
“Fascinating.” He was about to touch a finger to your palm but stopped abruptly. “Will it hurt me?”
“I don’t know. Haven't slapped anybody with it yet.” You smirked; he rolled his eyes.
Viktor grabbed a pencil and poked your hand. It felt normal. It was underwhelming even to you.
“So?” He asked, observing the tip of the pencil.
“You poked me with a pencil, and that's exactly how it felt.”
“Mmm…” He ripped a little note sheet and placed it gently on your palm.
After a few seconds of it just lying there, with him looking at it intensely, you brought your head down next to his.
“Are you expecting the paper to burst into flames?” You whispered, and he looked at you and back to the paper and then back at you.
“Oh…this is…” He groaned and replaced the paper with his hand.
Your eyes widened, half scared of what would happen to him and half scared of what would happen to you. His palm was cold as usual, heavy and bony. You swallowed, taking deep breaths, waiting for his hand to turn to white and gold.
“Surprisingly warm but seemingly harmless.” He said, taking his hand away, and you sighed in relief. He realized what he had done and looked at you.
“I…apologize. I should have asked if I could.”
“It’s alright.” You cleared your throat.
“Would you mind if I asked you more questions about this? It will stay between us, but I think I can use it for the hex-”
“No,” you interrupted him. “You won’t use this on that.”
“Do you know what hextech is…it’s a—”
“I know what hextech is, and I know how easy the hex-core is to corrupt.”
“Corruptible? No, no…It’s stable; we have been trying new things with it… and they run—"
“No, Viktor.”
“But... it... can be helpful to it.” He was starting to get frustrated, his forehead starting to crinkle as he narrowed his eyes.
“It might help, but what would be the costs? You’d add an unknown variant to a stable environment…” you felt proud being able to use his verbiage against his own argument. “The result could vary, and it could destroy everything. I’ll let you study the magic, but not for hextech. Not for use in hextech.”
“But…”
“I will not go anywhere near the hex-cores.”
Viktor opened his mouth to argue, but after a while, he shut it and nodded. You knew, if he was anything like your Viktor, which it appeared so, there were some doubts about the usage of hex-core in more unstable scenarios.
From where you were, it seemed the hex-core hadn’t been corrupted yet, but his leg had still been enhanced, which meant that the possibility was there. And you knew he knew that. Nothing was ever just pure. There is always a way to corrupt the incorruptible if anyone tries hard enough.
“I accept your terms.”
“Good. Give me the notebook.” You mentioned the new notebook, and he slid it to you. You turned it over to the last page, writing something on it.
“Read it and sign it.” You gave him back the notebook and the pen you were holding.
“What?” He looked at what was written on it, his golden eyes moving through the lines. “I, Viktor, co-creator of Hextech, agree to investigate the matter previously discussed without using it to further my investigation of the hex-core.”
Viktor raised an eyebrow and looked at you, his face blank, unimpressed. You, on the other hand, smiled triumphantly.
“This does not look very legally binding.” He tilted his head to the side, still looking at the book.
“It may not look official, but it could be used against you after you sign it as an informal commercial agreement.” You added.
“No. To be an informal commercial agreement, I will have to receive something in return.”
“Alright. Write down what you want then.”
Without second thoughts, he grabbed the pen and scribbled something on the page, passing it over to you.
“In exchange, the subject of the study will be available whenever and answer all the questions asked truthfully.” You mentioned the pen, and he handed it to you.
You added ‘possible’ after ‘whenever and showed it to him.
“I’m not about to be woken up after you figure something out in the wee hours of the morning.” You explained.
“Eh...fair...”
He did a little VK on the side of the page, and you did your own signature.
“I guess we have a deal.” Viktor smirked, excitement contained behind his amber eyes.
• ············ •
“So…nothing happened?” Your mother asked, still in her sleeping attire, a purple silk robe wrapped around herself.
“Nope.” You drank some tea from the delicate yellow cup.
It was still early in the morning, but you had places to be at. When you asked Viktor when they should start, he mentioned the earliest convenience, pointing to the ‘contract.’ So, you had woken up before the sun came up and were already ready to leave, only stopping by the kitchen for breakfast. Everything was quiet until your sleepy mother walked in asking all kinds of questions.
“So, what now?” She was leaning on the kitchen counter, arms crossed, chewing on some vanilla cookies Voltaire had dropped.
“I don’t know.” You sighed. “I was counting on the events being the same and going from there.”
“I guess it’s good you're a musician…” You looked at her. “You’ll be playing it by ear.”
“Oh…by the gods…Mother…” You snorted and got up from the table as she snickered at the bad joke.
“What? That was funny.”
You kissed her forehead and walked away from her, laughing on your way to the Academy.

Congratulations on reaching 2k! Every bit deserved your writing and characterization is always so amazing 🫶🏼
For the event, Could I request a Drabble of rivals/ crushes snowed in with Ekko with a she/her reader? (Possible accidental confession perhaps?)
I need more ekko content in my life 🥹 Ekko presents tough but he’s such a sweet lover boy!
Thank you for this event! And thank you for blessing us with your writing 💖
tysm!! i’m always so happy to hear the characters sound like themselves 😭 i hope you enjoy the drabble!
warnings: spoilers for s2 despite this being a modern au, grieving, mentions of jayvik, fem!reader
Professor Heimerdinger had been a phenomenal professor. You were thankful to have made it in to every one of his lectures in your college career. He had always been a spontaneous character, treating his students like family.
After his funeral, you weren’t too surprised when Ekko appeared. You both had been gunning for the top grades in classes, the most genius designs, the greater anything. He was a worthy opponent, taking his defeats in a respectable manner. When he won, you’d have to suffer one of those insufferable smirks and a tick of his eyebrow but you had come to enjoy them.
You’re not sure when the jealousy of his mind had turned to attraction.
He was well dressed for the ceremony, all suit and tie and raw eyes. You wanted to hold him, but you settled for a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Left a letter to us,” he said, holding up an envelope.
“Heimerdinger did love dramatics,” you joked, stepping closer as paper unfolded. For this you let your head fall to his shoulder, feeling as much as ewing the shake in his hands. You helped steady it.
“Can you…”
“Of course,” you whispered, clearing your throat and reading it aloud. You were teary-eyed by the second sentence.
The letter detailed how proud he was of you and Ekko and that he was sorry to leave the world before he saw both of you graduate. He’d never married or had a family, but he considered the two of you his own. He also asked if one of you would care for his cat, Poro, until a proper home was found.
“I’ve been taking care of him,” Ekko said. “I don’t have the room in my apartment so I’ve been spending time at Heimerdinger’s place. Helped Jayce and Viktor clean some stuff out.”
Another generation of assistants and protĂŠgĂŠs. They were married, too.
“Could you take him for a bit? He’s a good cat,” Ekko promised.
“Of course,” you said. “I’ll go grab him now.”
“I’ll go with you. I have some stuff I need to grab.”
That was exactly how you ended up snowed in at Heimerdinger’s residence with your rival and crush, Ekko, and Poro the cat skirting your feet.
“This feels like one of his schemes,” you chuckled as Ekko got the fireplace in the living room going. “Remember when he locked us in the lab until we stopped fighting?”
“He forgot about us until the next morning,” Ekko finished, smiling over his shoulder.
You giggled, reaching down to pull the cat into your arms. “I can still feel the crick in my neck from falling asleep at the desk.”
“It worked, though.” Ekko settled back on the carpet as the fire roared to life. “We got along a bit better after that.”
“We respected each other,” you chuckled. “I had to after you picked the lock.”
He shrugged. “I’m a man of many talents.”
Sitting down beside him, you both basked in the warm glow, shoulder to shoulder. The sound of the wind outside alongside the crackling wood calmed the nerves of being so close to him, well almost.
“He’s well behaved around girls,” Ekko said, looking to Poro in your lap. The car purred, raising his head as a strong hand ran over his back. “He hates Viktor. I think Heimerdinger mentioned something about a laser?”
“Like a toy laser?”
Ekko shrugged. “Either way he’s a lot more careful around guys, but he’s warmed up to me over the years.”
Yeah, you thought, who wouldn’t?
“I’d like to keep him,” you murmured, scratching under his whiskers. “Just have to figure some things out first. I’ll manage it.”
“I can help,” Ekko offered.
You shook your head. “You’ve already done so much. Let me.”
“I love the little troublemaker too.”
“Then you can visit him.”
“Yeah?” His eyes glinted as he looked at you.
“Yeah,” you agreed, heart thundering. His shoulder nudged yours, sending sparks down your shoulder and into your stomach.
“Only him?”
Your breath caught. For being the top of your class, you sure went brain dead by a simple question.
“Sorry,” he muttered, looking away. “I just…”
“No,” you said, “I mean, yes you can visit. Not just for the cat. Don’t apologize.”
“If you were uncomfortable—”
You shook your head, grabbing his arm. “I’m not. Just nervous, surprised…”
“Surprised?” he huffed, the start of a smile on his lips.
“What? I don’t know,” you scrambled, feeling too hot. Poro stretched before walking away, leaving you to die of your embarrassment.
“I’ve been crushing on you for a while,” he chuckled, “I thought you noticed.”
“I’m a genius in school, Ekko, not,” you gestured haphazardly between you, “this.”
He busted out laughing. You tumbled into it with him, the sound far too contagious.
“First the lab, now his house,” Ekko sighed later on, the two of you leaning against one another on the couch. “This does feel like Heimerdinger’s doing.”
It did. One day you’d have to thank him for bringing you together.

THE BOY IS MINE
Five hargreeves X reader
Tumblr media
The reader is Five's long-time partner, tired of waiting for his return, she decide to investigate his whereabouts. (seriously thinking about writing something for our daddy Diego)
- That's enough – I jump off the decaying sofa at Luther's house – you guys stay here and look for Viktor, I'll go after five and lila. - Wasn't the plan for everyone to stay together until they got back here? - Allison murmurs boredly - No, no, we spread out and everyone looks in a different place, right? -Klaus chimes in, only hearing half of the dialogue as he plays with the shiny Christmas tree in front of him.
-Meanwhile, we should standing there admiring Luther's windows? - I gesture with my hands - Hey! They are Victorian models! - Luther exclaims offended, holding the new frames.
-Sorry Luther, they are beautiful honey, they just need some adjustments in the rest of the house – I turn to the giant man in front of him with a loving smile – plan B, I will find them and let them know that the holidays are coming, Let me know when someone find the other two. I wave to everyone already leaving the room, hearing some protests about "following the original plan and Luther questioning Allison if the new frames were good"
.
.
Just like your sister Lila, I had the ability to copy powers. It came in handy when the last person you touched was Five, on a rare occasion he let you fix his messy hair, a lame excuse to be affectionate with the grumpy old man. Despite trying, a laugh escapes my lips, remembering the boy's shocked expression at the kind gesture.
-I'll find them - I mutter more to myself as I get off at yet another station on the strange subway, writing down in the small diary in my pocket, a gift from Five, a bit tacky but very useful in the current situation - a stain that looks like a state - I mumble looking at the ceiling - wires ripped out, someone came by here - trying not to create expectations and hopes too high to be crushed after all the frustrations of not finding five and lila, I swallow dry and walk towards the exit.
A beautiful uninhabited field waited outside the station, it looked unkempt, even deserted. Ready to cross off another stop on the agenda, I suddenly stop when I see movement in the distance, it was him. With a more tired and ragged appearance, but it was my five. With longer hair than usual, an old backpack on his shoulder, I couldn't believe I had finally found him.
I take a step away from the hiding place, raising my hand with a huge smile on my lips, relief flooding my body, finally being able to relax after months of searching.
You took too long outside - Lila appeared, involving Five with a smile. That was good, they finally got along and became friends - I miss u - so she kisses him.
My feet were planted on the ground, gravity holding me in that place, in slow motion as I watched my sister, the person I trust most, kiss five, the person I loved most. My hand fell to my side, finally returning to the moment to step back into the darkness, watching as Five tenderly returned the affection and led her inside the small green house.
.
When it finally got dark I left the forest, heading towards the house, I did a space jump and was in the kitchen of the place. everything was very tidy, a small strawberry garden, candles, books. Were the bastards having a teenage romance? I stop myself, taking a deep breath - follow the plan y/n, follow the damn plan.
That was the initial idea, but then here you were, on top of Five's limp and unconscious body, ready to attack him. You probably forgot, amid the bitterness of betrayal, that Five also worked for the commission. Then he was wide awake, as far as possible, his beautiful eyes alarmed and his hands holding his.
Y/N? Is that really you? - he asked dazedly, his eyes still cloudy with sleep, his voice hoarse and low. Unable to bear his puppy eyes, I start to swing in an attempt to get out of his grip, throwing punches in all directions with unbridled rage. - Are you with my sister? - you scream, still punching your stomach, your vision blurred by the tears that threatened to fall.
what? babe, no - five finally manages to stop his attack, breathing hard - let me explain - he starts sitting with you on his lap - explain to me that you are fucking my sister? that she is married to your brother? -his voice sounded bitter and defensive-all that talk about taking it easy was nonsense-you try to get rid of him to leave.
-it's been seven years - five starts with a broken voice, his eyes searching yours in search of something - I thought I would never go again see you y/n - he pauses, looking for words - I don't deserve your forgiveness, but please don't go, hate me, hit me. But don't disappear again darling, I was going crazy, all of us.
-you betrayed me five - your voice sounded more broken than you wanted him to see, how everything affected you more than you would like to admit - I know my love, I don't deserve you, but you are all I have, all I want. Lila and I were torn apart, we spent years looking for a way to get back together, it ruined us. It was survival, a way to not go crazy here alone.
You closed your eyes tightly, taking a deep breath to process everything. Five and Lila lived here for seven years, and somehow created a relationship, you still felt betrayed, the memory of how the two of you were together earlier haunting you like a ghost, his arms wrapped around her, like he did with you. Then you look at Five, his clear eyes chasing you like a sun, they looked so sad and melancholic, waiting for salvation.
You smile sadly, raising your hand to his long hair, carefully combing the unruly strands. Five closes his eyes, visibly relaxing under your touch - I dreamed every night that you were here - he comments in a low voice, unsure - that you found me and then you left again, as if you had never come, then I woke up and you not here.
-im here - you speak softly, not wanting to break the fragile moment you shared, your eyes dropped to your lips, jealousy consuming you every moment. Then five placed his hand on his face, with devotion and fear, fear that everything was just another lived and cruel dream, her lips just touched his, they were dry and trembling. It was a soft kiss, afraid that a sudden movement would break it. Your hands traveled to his shoulders as a warm bubble enveloped them. Then the memory of the kiss between him and Lila appeared in your mind, taking the best of you. Your hands became rough for a moment, pulling Five's hair with more force than necessary, a kind of punishment for his actions, the poor boy could do nothing but accept the harsh treatment with a slight grunt escaping his lips .
-let's go home my dear, there we will remind you who you belong to.

i'm writing more viktor x chronically ill reader and -
it started as the reader feels insecure and viktor is so used to fighting against a world that wants to break him that he knows how to help.
and the reader sees viktor as this smart, confident, capable-and-disabled-guy, and it really is and and not but, he's had to fight tooth and nail to be where he is and he holds no illusions about what some people think about him, but now he's at the top, he's the best at what he does, he has one of those brilliant once-in-a-lifetime type of minds and the heart to go with it, the passion that comes from wanting to make things better-
and he's confident! he knows he's good! he knows he's smart! he had to fight twice as hard as the others in the academy just to get in but now he's running the whole show and he's deserved it, gods, he has a right to be there and he's not going to apologize to the people who don't like it, because they're not worth the time of day!
he knows he's good at what he does.
and he wants the reader to value themselves too. even just out of spite if it comes to that, because the world is hard enough for people like them already, other people are mean enough already, and it should be their given right to rise above that and say no, actually, i'm good and i deserve to be here. i deserve good things.
they've both seen enough cruelty already. they don't need more of it from inside their heads.
and he truly does believe that! he does. it feels like a truth running all through his bone marrow.
he knows he's good at what he does.
he knows he's smart.
and it's easy to tell the same things to someone else. because he believes them. he really, truly does.
but there's still that little kid somewhere at the back of his head, that too-little version of him that got left behind, and there's still that innate feeling of being not-quite-right, being weird and not fitting in and - yes, he's accepted it, that was just a thing about him, he was always going to be a little weird, but-
at the core of it is the feeling that he never really felt like people wanted him around. even after he climbed to the top of the business, the top of the stupid social circles, out of the undercity, and stood his ground there, he never really felt like he belonged there. like any of them really wanted him around. jayce was one of the few exceptions, but in the grand scheme of things, one exception didn't shake his beliefs much. jayce was an anomaly in the trend, and not a breakthrough.
so when the reader really does seem to want viktor around?
he doesn’t know what to do with that.
it's easy to tell other people they're worth it, but viktor still can't shake the feeling that it doesn’t apply to him.
except when you want him around for more than just his work? more than just as a solution to a problem? when you seem to want him, with his quiet humor and broken body and all, and then his heart is falling through his ribs as he tries to hold it together, because he didn't think that was possible. not for him. not this. nothing like this, and certainly not with someone that understands.
and suddenly he is a raw nerve, looking for lightning. he has no idea what to do with these feelings, because he's still not sure he trusts them, but he's not about to let the opportunity slide. so he has to push his trembling doubts aside and reach out, for the first time in his life let someone see his heart the way it truly is, soft and shivering and left-behind, because as afraid as he is he's also craving for the connection. even if he doesn’t really believe he deserves it, even if he doesn’t really believe in it, he still has to try. even with shaking hands, he has to try.
it's an off-beat dance on both parts, when neither of you really knows how to trust it. it's careful and tentative and sometimes just holding on to something feels like a lifeline, because neither of you really thought you'd have this. that anyone could want you like this.
and over the years, viktor's pushed his feelings so far aside, that when they snap right back into his chest it leaves him gasping for air. when you touch him he crumbles, all composure gone, and he grips your hand like it's keeping him anchored into his own body, like he might float away into the ether without it. and it's with shuddering breaths and gentle touches that he learns how to trust, slowly, finally, and it is delicate and messy and raw but it's honest, the truth of it warm and solid somewhere close to his chest, and he wants to keep it there. wants it to take root there and grow into his whole being until it surrounds him.
it's easy to tell other people that they're worth it. harder to believe it about yourself, especially when it feels like you're shouting alone into the dark while the whole world seems to quietly disagree.
it gets a lot easier if someone shows you that they think you're worth it, bruised heart and chipped corners and all, and fuck what the rest of the world thinks, you are good.

Hetalia PDA Headcanons (2p!Allies)
Tumblr media
Headcanons about how the 2p!Hetalia characters would feel about PDA with their S/O.
Tumblr media
2p!America: Are you kidding me? This man lives for PDA. Hand-holding, having an arm around your waist, resting a hand on your hip or shoulder, occasionally groping or smacking your behind in public, kissing you straight on the lips, having you sit on his lap... The man has almost zero shame. Almost. The only thing he might hold back on are full-on makeout sessions. Mainly because those usually lead to being intimate, and regardless of how bold he is, he isn't about to do it in public or do anything that might directly lead to it. However, he's no stranger to makeout sessions in the back of a movie theater, just make sure you two keep it in your pants.
2p!England: Oliver is the kind of guy who will hold your hand in public no matter what you're doing or where you are. He interlocks his fingers with yours, swings your arms back and forth as you walk, and maybe even twirls you around, only to pull you back into his arms before peppering your face with kisses. Needless to say, Oliver is practically the opposite of his 1p! counterpart when it comes to PDA. If anything, I can see him putting an arm around you and shouting about how much he loves you for all to hear.
2p!France: François doesn't have any strong opinions about PDA. It's not something he thinks about, partly because it just doesn't come to mind, and also because he spends so much time indoors. He also largely believes love is a lie, so whenever he sees PDA from others he can't help but roll his eyes. It just seems shallow to him. But this starts to change a little if he falls in love and gets into a relationship. I mean, he's still the same old François as before, cynicism and all. But with the added bit that when you're in public he'll lazily sling an arm around your shoulders or even hold your hand or perhaps give you the occasional kiss on your temple. This is primarily to signal to other guys that you're taken.
2p!Russia: Viktor isn't one for PDA. He's not comfortable with showing affection out in public, along with the fact that he's just not a very physically affectionate man to begin with. As such, the most PDA you'll get out of this man is him offering you his arm as the two of you are walking down the street. That's it. Or if you're extremely cold and need a hug to warm up. He'll reluctantly agree to that, though internally he's blushing and smiling.
2p!China: Weirdly enough, Zao is way more flirty with you in public than anywhere else. He likes seeing you get all blushy and awkward, as well as showing everyone that you're his. He'll hold your hand when out and about and has no problem letting you cuddle him in public. He's also the kind of guy to pull you close by your waist and give you a kiss, leading into a makeout session in a busy street, much to François's disgust.
2p!Canada: Similar to his father in that he's not huge on PDA, but this is moreover because he's fairly reserved rather than having an aversion to love. James will gladly hold your hand, rubbing his thumb over the skin. He likes pressing a small kiss to your temple or on the top of your head to let you know you're loved and also enjoys it when you rest your head on his shoulder. But most of all, he likes to have an arm around your shoulders. Whether you are walking around or sitting, he loves the feeling of having you close. It not only makes him feel like he's your protector, but it's also a way of keeping you close by in case something where to happen.

Masterlist: A Nocturne in Melody
Part 2
Tumblr media
The apartment was quiet, save for the warm, low notes of your violin filling the space, dancing through the air in practiced strokes. It was the only thing that made you feel somewhat like yourself these days, bringing back some sense of comfort and control. You’d been trying to immerse yourself in the familiar rhythms and melodies, hoping the music would soothe away the dull ache in your leg and the nagging frustration that had settled into your bones since the accident.
You’d avoided the cane again today, though you knew it wasn’t doing you any favors. You could feel the pain creeping up as you stood there, pressing down with each note, reminding you of the limitations you couldn’t outrun. Yet, in these moments, you felt a glimmer of your old self, and you clung to it as fiercely as you could.
You were so caught up in the music, in the small relief it brought, that you didn’t notice Viktor’s presence until he was right behind you, his hands slipping gently around your waist, pulling you close.
“Hi, beautiful.”
Your heart skipped a beat, the violin bow slipping as you nearly lost your grip on the instrument. “Viktor, you scared the shit out of me!” You let out a breath, feeling the tension unravel as he chuckled softly, his voice warm and low.
“Sorry,” he murmured, though the smile in his voice told you he’d been amused by your reaction. He pulled you a bit closer, pressing his lips to the top of your head. “You were so focused.”
You leaned into his embrace, the weight of his arms around you grounding you. It was moments like these that you held onto, reminders that, despite everything, you still had each other. Viktor, with his steady hold, had become your anchor in ways you hadn’t imagined, and you could feel him clinging to you just as tightly.
The past few months had been a struggle, for both of you. After three long months of confinement, Viktor had finally been released from the containment facility. But it hadn’t been easy—he’d battled the cravings, his new instincts, fought to keep control, and every time you’d visited, you’d seen the toll it was taking on him. He hadn’t been the same; the familiar warm amber of his eyes replaced with a striking, unsettling red, his fangs just barely hidden behind his lips.
That first visit, he’d barely looked you in the eye, his hand covering his mouth every time he tried to smile, as if ashamed of the transformation. It had broken your heart, seeing the man you loved reduced to a shadow of himself, fighting so hard to maintain his humanity. And yet, through it all, he’d somehow managed to hold on. When he’d finally been released, he’d come home to you—a different man, perhaps, but still Viktor.
You’d felt the change, though. He was quieter, his shyness around you more pronounced than before, as if afraid of what you might think of him now. You knew the feeling too well—the weight of insecurity and unfamiliarity, the strain of adapting to a body and life that felt like someone else’s. He’d throw himself into his work at the lab, the way he always had, finding solace in his research, but you saw the tiredness in his eyes, the way he avoided smiling too widely or looking at his own reflection.
Yet, in his own way, he had grown stronger. The sickness that had plagued him for so long was gone, replaced with a physical resilience he’d never had before. He was healthier, able to stand for hours without feeling drained, able to keep up with the demands of the lab. But that strength had come at a price, and the reminder was always there—the enforcers stationed outside your apartment, the watchful eyes that followed him everywhere he went. Even at the lab, he was under constant surveillance, their eyes a constant reminder that he was no longer fully trusted.
And then there was you. The pain in your leg was a relentless, unwelcome companion, one that left you frustrated, refusing to rely on the cane you knew you needed. You missed the freedom of movement, the confidence you once had. Every step reminded you of the limitations, and you could feel the anger simmering just beneath the surface, anger at the vampire who’d done this, at the world, even, sometimes, at Viktor for reminding you of what you’d lost.
But when you looked into Viktor’s eyes, when you felt his arms around you, that anger faded, replaced by a fierce determination to be there for him, just as he was for you. You both needed each other, more than ever.
As you leaned back against his chest, Viktor’s arms tightened around you, his chin resting on your shoulder. He was silent for a moment, just holding you, and you could feel the subtle tension in his body, as if he had something on his mind.
“There’s a… party this weekend,” he said finally, his voice hesitant. “One of the council members is hosting it. They want me to be there, but I… I won’t go if you’re not coming.”
You took a deep breath, biting your lip as you weighed his words. The idea of a crowded event, of being surrounded by people, the inevitable questions, the looks—none of it appealed to you. And yet, you knew how much this meant to him, how much he needed your support. It was his first real public appearance since the transformation, and though he’d never say it, you could tell he was nervous.
“Do you… want to go?” you asked, turning slightly to look up at him, your gaze meeting his.
He hesitated, his red eyes flickering with something vulnerable. “Only if you’re with me,” he said softly. “I can handle the stares, the questions… but I don’t want to do it alone. Not without you.”
You reached up, brushing a hand along his cheek, feeling the familiar warmth beneath your fingertips. His hand came up to cover yours, holding it gently, as if afraid you might pull away. The subtle red in his eyes, the faint glint of his fangs as he spoke—these were all reminders of the change, but they didn’t scare you. They were part of him now, just as much as the man you’d fallen in love with.
After a long moment, you nodded. “I’ll go with you,” you said quietly, your voice steady. “If you want to be there, I’ll be there with you.”
The relief in his expression was palpable, his grip on your hand tightening as he pulled you even closer. He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, his voice barely a whisper as he spoke.
“Thank you,” he murmured. “For staying… for being here. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
You leaned into his embrace, letting the warmth of his words wash over you. Despite everything, despite the pain and the challenges, you knew that this was where you both belonged—together, finding strength in each other, one day at a time.
—
The lab was alive with the familiar hum of machinery, the faint scent of metal and ozone filling the air as Viktor and Jayce huddled over a collection of blueprints and prototypes spread across the table. The hextech core, their shared obsession and the key to their work, glowed faintly between them, casting a cool, ethereal light over their faces.
Jayce tapped a finger against one of the blueprints, his brow furrowing as he studied the design. “You can’t possibly think that would work,” he said, casting a skeptical look in Viktor’s direction.
Viktor, unperturbed, adjusted his goggles and tilted his head, studying the hextech core with a keen, almost reverent gaze. “I’m saying it’s worth a try, Jayce. We’ve exhausted the more conventional approaches. Maybe a… less traditional method will yield something.”
Jayce crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. “Less traditional, huh? Like throwing caution to the wind and just seeing what sticks?”
Viktor gave a slight, amused smile. “Something like that.”
Jayce rolled his eyes but leaned forward, studying the core more closely. “All right, fine. But combining it with some other element? We’re not just talking about amplifying power here, Viktor. We’re talking about potentially unstable results, especially if it reacts poorly.”
“Precisely,” Viktor murmured, his mind racing as he turned the core over in his hands. “But if we could stabilize it… think about the applications. Energy that could revolutionize everyday life, a source of power that could improve accessibility for all kinds of people. More efficient, more durable. Something truly transformative.”
Jayce’s skepticism softened a little, his gaze shifting from the core to Viktor. “You really think this could be it, don’t you? The next step in hextech?”
Viktor nodded, his eyes gleaming with a quiet intensity. “Imagine a hextech device that could adapt to its user, that could help those who struggle with mobility, sight, or strength. It wouldn’t just be a tool; it would be a part of them. Empowering, not controlling.”
Jayce’s gaze dropped back to the core, the seed of interest clearly taking root. “That does sound… incredible,” he admitted, though there was still a hint of doubt in his voice. “But to get there, we’d need a material strong enough to withstand the energy fluctuations while still being flexible.”
Viktor nodded thoughtfully, his mind already racing through possible solutions. “True. We’d need something that can handle extreme stress without compromising the user’s safety or mobility.” He paused, his brow furrowing in thought. “Perhaps… something organic? Or partially organic. The problem with pure metal is that it limits flexibility and precision.”
“Partially organic?” Jayce echoed, blinking in surprise. “Are you suggesting a hybrid material?”
Viktor shrugged, his fingers tracing patterns in the dust on the table as he spoke, his mind a whirlwind of ideas. “It’s not entirely unheard of. The human body is essentially a collection of organic materials working together with remarkable efficiency. Why not replicate that balance in our design?”
Jayce snorted, but there was a glint of excitement in his eyes. “So now you want to build a synthetic organism, too?”
“Not a full organism,” Viktor replied, a touch of exasperation in his voice. “But a material that can mimic the body’s adaptability and resilience. Something that can respond to the user’s needs in real time.”
Jayce leaned back, tapping his chin thoughtfully. “But even if we could figure out the material, there’s still the issue of integrating it with the hextech core itself. Combining two different energy sources could be volatile.”
Viktor smiled faintly, the spark of an idea beginning to take shape. “What if we used the hextech as a kind of catalyst? Not the primary power source, but something that enhances the natural energy within the material.”
Jayce’s brow furrowed, his mind turning over the possibilities. “So the hextech would amplify the organic properties, like a booster?”
Viktor nodded, his excitement building as he spoke. “Exactly. It would be less invasive, more in tune with the body’s natural rhythms. Think about what that could mean for prosthetics, for example. Devices that respond as seamlessly as a real limb, that adapt and strengthen over time. It could be life-changing.
Jayce was silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on the hextech core as he processed the idea. “All right, so let’s say we somehow manage to stabilize this… hybrid material. How do we test it?”
Viktor’s expression turned serious, the weight of the challenge settling over him. “We’d need to find a way to monitor the energy flow, to ensure that the hextech doesn’t overwhelm the organic component. But if we can do that…” he replied, his voice quiet.
He let the words hang in the air, the possibilities stretching out before them, vast and uncharted. Jayce nodded slowly, clearly intrigued by the potential of Viktor’s vision.
“This is ambitious—and dangerous,” Jayce admitted, glancing over at Viktor with a mixture of admiration and caution. “But then, you’ve always been ambitious.”
Viktor gave a small, self-deprecating smile. “Ambition isn’t always a bad thing, is it?”
Jayce laughed, clapping him on the shoulder. “Not when it comes from the right place. And I think you’re onto something here. But we’re going to need a lot of resources to make this work—materials, prototypes, testing… We’re talking months, maybe years of development.”
Viktor nodded, unperturbed by the daunting timeline. “I’m willing to put in the work. We both are, aren’t we?”
Jayce grinned, a hint of the old, infectious enthusiasm returning to his eyes. “Hell yeah, we are. Besides, who else would I want as a partner on something this crazy?”
They shared a rare, genuine smile, the camaraderie between them rekindled by the shared sense of purpose. For all their differences, for all the disagreements and setbacks, this was why they worked together—this shared vision, this drive to create something that could change the world for the better.
Jayce leaned back, a thoughtful expression on his face as he considered their next steps. “So, where do we start? We’re going to need a lot more data on organic materials. Something durable but responsive.”
Viktor nodded, already flipping through the stack of papers and sketches scattered across the table. “There’s some research on flexible bio-metals in the archives. And I know of a few labs that have been experimenting with synthetic nerve tissues. If we can combine their properties with the hextech…”
Jayce’s eyes lit up, a wide grin spreading across his face. “Then we just might have a shot.”
They worked in companionable silence for a while, each lost in their thoughts as they sifted through data, sketches, and formulas. Every now and then, Viktor would jot down a note or make a quick calculation, his mind racing with possibilities. Jayce watched him, a sense of admiration growing as he saw the focus and determination in Viktor’s gaze.
After a while, Jayce broke the silence, his voice soft but thoughtful. “You know, Viktor… you’re not just doing this for the science, are you?”
Viktor glanced up, surprised by the question. “What do you mean?”
Jayce shrugged, a knowing look in his eyes. “You talk about improving lives, helping people, creating something that could change the world. But I think… I think there’s more to it than that for you.”
Viktor was silent for a moment, his gaze dropping back to the hextech core in his hands. “Perhaps,” he admitted quietly. “I suppose… I know what it’s like to feel limited, to have a body that doesn’t do what you need it to. If I can create something that eases that struggle, that gives people back a sense of freedom… then maybe it’s worth it.”
Jayce nodded, a look of respect in his eyes. “I get it. And honestly? I’m with you on this, Viktor. Let’s see how far we can push this thing. Together.”
Viktor met Jayce’s gaze, a flicker of gratitude passing over his face. He wasn’t one to show emotions easily, but in that moment, he felt a surge of appreciation for his friend, for the support and trust that had sustained their partnership through countless challenges.
“Thank you, Jayce,” he said quietly. “For believing in this.”
Jayce grinned, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Oh, don’t thank me yet. We still have to make it work.”
—
The practice room buzzed with the usual chatter and hustle as you finished your session with the crew, the notes of your violin still lingering in the air as you put it down. The familiar routine of rehearsals and the comfort of music always helped ease your mind, giving you a momentary escape from the worries that had been creeping in lately. You were glad you’d come; it felt good to play, to be part of something steady, a rhythm that didn’t ask too much of you, didn’t remind you of the things you’d lost or the new insecurities you were fighting.
The rehearsal wrapped up, and you packed up your violin, the room gradually emptying as everyone trickled out. You’d just slung the violin case over your shoulder when a familiar voice made you turn.
“I heard you were coming to the Kiramman’s party.”
Claire stood there, arms crossed, her gaze sharp and assessing as it lingered on you. She hadn’t exactly been the friendliest toward you, and her appearance here now felt deliberate, her words carrying a weight that hinted at more than just small talk.
You nodded, choosing your words carefully. “Yes, I am.”
“Oh, are you…?” She paused, her lips curving into a knowing smile that made you instantly wary. “You’re coming with Viktor?”
“Yes,” you replied, keeping your tone neutral, though you could feel your pulse quickening, a hint of irritation creeping in at her tone. “Why?”
She tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable. “Oh, I thought he’d pick someone from his… league by now.”
The words hit you like a slap, cold and unexpected. You blinked, taken aback, but you quickly tried to brush it off, refusing to give her the reaction she was clearly hoping for. “I’m sorry?”
She shrugged, as if the comment had been nothing more than an idle observation, her gaze still fixed on you with that same sharpness. “Oh, so you’re still together then,” she said, her voice laced with a mock sympathy that only fueled the knot of tension in your chest. “Pity.”
The implication was clear, each word sinking in like a tiny, well-placed barb. You could feel the anger bubbling up, the instinct to defend yourself and Viktor against her assumptions, but you bit your tongue, forcing yourself to stay calm.
“Why would it be a pity?” you managed, your voice colder than you’d intended.
Claire gave you a long, appraising look, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took in your reaction. “Well, I just thought…” She hesitated, feigning innocence, though you could see the satisfaction flickering in her gaze. “I thought he might want to be with someone who understands him a little better now, that’s all. Someone who… lives forever. You know?”
You swallowed, her words sinking deeper, twisting in ways that left a dull ache in your chest. Part of you wanted to brush her off, to shrug it off as nothing more than petty jealousy, but her words hit a nerve, stirring up insecurities you’d been trying to keep buried.
“You don’t know Viktor,” you said quietly, trying to keep the tremor out of your voice. “We’re together because we care about each other, not because of what we are.”
Claire raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk playing on her lips. “Are you sure about that?” she asked, her tone almost pitying. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he loves you. But love doesn’t change the fact that he’s… different now. Forever, actually.”
She paused, letting the weight of her words settle in, watching you carefully, as if gauging how much of her message was getting through.
“Maybe he’s not thinking about it now,” she continued, her voice softening slightly, as if she were offering advice rather than criticism. “But one day, he will. One day, he’ll realize that he doesn’t have to limit himself to… well, to the human experience anymore.”
Her gaze flicked pointedly to your leg, lingering just long enough to drive the point home.
The implication stung, dredging up the insecurities you’d tried so hard to bury since Viktor’s transformation. You’d been fighting to keep those fears at bay, to trust that your relationship was strong enough to withstand the changes, but Claire’s words struck at the heart of your doubts, leaving you feeling raw and exposed.
“I’m not… holding him back,” you said, though the words felt weak, uncertain, even to your own ears.
Claire shrugged again, her expression almost pitying. “Maybe you’re not now. But one day, he’ll want more. And you’ll have to decide whether you’re willing to let him have it.”
The weight of her words hung heavy in the air, settling in your mind with a finality that left you feeling hollow. You tried to shake it off, to remind yourself that Claire didn’t know Viktor, that she couldn’t possibly understand what you shared, but the doubts had already taken root, lingering in the back of your mind like a slow, insidious poison.
Without another word, Claire turned and walked away, leaving you alone with the echo of her words, her parting glance a final, silent jab that left you reeling.
—
The soft glow of the evening settled over your apartment as you slipped on your dress, adjusting the fabric and inspecting your reflection in the mirror. Tonight was important for Viktor — it was more than a social event; it was a milestone. Since his release from the facility, he hadn’t attended anything quite so grand or public, and you could tell it weighed on him.
As you adjusted the delicate straps of your dress, you caught Viktor’s reflection standing behind you, pulling his sleeves into place and carefully fastening each button. He was dressed sharply, his hair smoothed down and his posture straighter than usual. Yet his gaze was distant, a flicker of nerves clouding his eyes as he adjusted his collar for the fourth time.
Turning to face him, you took a step closer and rested a hand on his shoulder, watching him tense and then relax under your touch. “You know, it’s not going to be that bad, right?” you said softly, your voice laced with encouragement.
Viktor glanced at you, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he tried to shrug it off. “Yes, yes — just nervous.”
But his answer didn’t fool you; you could sense there was more to his unease than simple nerves. He looked at you, his gaze lingering, and something in his expression made your heart skip. Before you could ask him about it, he closed the distance between you, his hand cupping your cheek as he leaned in. The kiss was gentle at first, then deeper, more insistent, as if he were pouring a quiet desperation into it.
You felt a flutter in your chest, the heat of his touch surprising you but drawing you in all the same. Your hands slipped around his waist, pulling him closer, and for a moment, everything else faded away. Viktor’s hand trailed to the back of your neck, his fingers threading through your hair as he deepened the kiss, a quiet intensity building between you.
After a moment, he pulled back slightly, his breath warm against your skin. He held your gaze, his eyes shadowed with something you couldn’t quite place. He reached up, brushing a strand of hair from your face, his touch lingering as if he didn’t want to let go.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” you asked softly, your voice laced with concern.
Viktor hesitated, his eyes searching yours before he managed a faint smile. “I am,” he murmured, but his hand tightened ever so slightly on your waist, as if anchoring himself. “I just… I don’t want to make a fool of myself tonight.”
You chuckled, the warmth in his gaze making your heart swell. “You could never make a fool of yourself,” you assured him, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “You’re going to be amazing, Viktor. Everyone will see what I see.”
His eyes softened, his fingers grazing along your cheek with a tenderness that made your breath catch. “Thank you,” he whispered, his voice barely audible, as if he were speaking a truth too fragile to say aloud.
He kissed you again, slower this time, his lips lingering as if he were savoring the moment. His hands slid down to your waist, pulling you closer, and you could feel his heart pounding in time with yours. The world outside seemed to fade, leaving just the two of you, wrapped in the quiet warmth of each other’s presence.
After a moment, he pulled back, his hand still resting on your waist as he gazed at you with a mix of admiration and something deeper, something that tugged at the edges of your heart. “I… I don’t say it often,” he began, his voice faltering slightly, “but I don’t know where I’d be without you.”
You felt a warmth spread through you, a quiet happiness that came from knowing just how much you meant to him. Smiling, you placed a hand over his, squeezing gently. “And I don’t know where I’d be without you,” you replied, your voice soft. “We’ve always been together, haven’t we?”
He nodded, a hint of relief easing the tension in his expression. “Yes… always.”
—
The atmosphere at the Kiramman party was electric. The warm lights cast a glow over the grand hall, and the murmur of laughter and conversation filled the space as you stood with Viktor, Jayce, Mel, and Caitlyn. Even with the initial excitement, your leg was already protesting the long hours of standing. You’d brought your cane along but tried to lean against it subtly, hoping to mask the pain that was slowly creeping in.
Caitlyn, ever perceptive, gave you a look, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Are you doing okay?” she asked, voice low enough so only you could hear.
You gave a reassuring nod, managing a small smile. “I’m fine, thanks,” you replied, though the ache in your leg said otherwise.
Viktor, however, was harder to read tonight. He was unusually fidgety, his fingers tapping against his glass, eyes darting to Jayce every now and then. When he noticed you watching him, he looked down quickly, almost as if he’d been caught. Jayce raised a brow at Viktor with a knowing smirk, but didn’t say anything, making the whole interaction feel even stranger.
Amid the lively discussions about hextech and advancements in Piltover, Viktor suddenly leaned close, his voice a touch uncertain. “Do you want something from the bar?”
The question caught you off guard, but you welcomed the distraction. “Uh—I could use a hugo.”
Without another word, Viktor nodded and hurried off towards the bar, his shoulders tense, leaving you with the others. Jayce, who had been watching Viktor with a mixture of amusement and sympathy, turned to you with a small grin, his eyebrows raised.
“What?” you asked, puzzled, but he just shook his head, his smile saying more than words could.
Jayce’s smirk lingered a moment longer, and you couldn’t help but wonder what was going on with Viktor tonight. He had seemed on edge, more so than usual, and while you wanted to brush it off as pre-party nerves, something about his behavior felt different. And then there were those subtle glances he kept exchanging with Jayce. It was as if Viktor was working up to something, or maybe he just needed a moment to take the edge off.
Meanwhile, across the room, Viktor was at the bar, his shoulders visibly easing as he downed a quick shot of vodka, then another, clearly hoping to settle his nerves. He never drinked like this. The burn must have helped because he took a deep breath, visibly relaxing as the bartender set about mixing your drink.
Just then, Esma, one of Viktor’s colleagues from the lab, approached him with a smile. Her striking red dress and piercing gaze gave her an air of elegance that immediately drew attention. “Viktor,” she greeted warmly, “we haven’t caught up in a while.”
“Oh—Esma,” Viktor replied, his voice light as he turned to her, but his usual guardedness softened under the influence of the alcohol. “It’s been… busy.”
“Yes, I’ve noticed,” she replied with a coy smile, leaning in slightly. “You’ve been making quite the impression these days. Working on any new projects?”
“Well,” he started, glancing down at his empty shot glass before looking back at her, “it’s still early stages, but yes, Jayce and I have… something in the works.” He gestured for another shot, downing it before he could think twice, and you could tell from across the room that his inhibitions were starting to lower.
Esma’s smile lingered as she watched him, her gaze lingering a beat too long. “I’m sure it’s something remarkable. You’ve always had that drive. It’s rare, you know.” Her tone held a warmth that was almost… flirtatious.
A pang of something bitter twisted in your chest as you watched them. It wasn’t like you to feel this way, yet Claire’s words had been gnawing at you for days now, tainting your thoughts in ways you hadn’t anticipated. Maybe she had a point, you thought reluctantly. Viktor’s new status, his abilities, his longevity — it felt like a widening chasm between you two, one that was hard to ignore. You hated feeling this insecure, but it was as if her words had planted a seed that was growing despite your efforts to stamp it out.
You tried to shake it off, but the hurt in your chest only grew. You needed air, a moment to clear your head. Without another word to the others, you quietly slipped away, making your way to the open balcony where the cool evening air brushed against your skin, a welcome relief from the crowded hall. The night sky stretched out before you, the stars scattered like tiny diamonds against the deep blue canvas. It was beautiful, yet you felt strangely hollow, a sense of unease settling in your stomach.
It wasn’t long before the faint sound of footsteps reached you, and you turned to see Viktor standing in the doorway, a glass in his hand. He hesitated, a hint of concern flickering in his eyes. “You… left,” he said softly, stepping closer and holding out the drink.
You took it with a small smile, though the weight of your thoughts still lingered. “Just needed some fresh air,” you replied, taking a sip and feeling the refreshing taste of the hugo wash over you before setting it down on a table.
Viktor stood beside you, his gaze following yours as he looked out at the cityscape. There was a silence between you, not uncomfortable but heavy with words unspoken. After a moment, he finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Are you… alright?” His hand moved to rest on the balcony railing, fingers brushing close to yours.
You took a breath, considering his question. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just—thinking.”
His brow furrowed, his eyes searching yours. “About?”
You hesitated, unsure if you should share what was truly on your mind. But the vulnerability in his gaze, the way he looked at you like you were the only person in the world, made it hard to hold back. “It’s… probably nothing,” you began, your voice faltering slightly. “I just… I’ve been thinking about us, about… everything.”
Viktor’s grip tightened on the railing, and you noticed the subtle tension in his posture. “You don’t have to worry,” he murmured, his voice low. “You mean everything to me. I know things have… changed, but that hasn’t.”
You felt a warmth spread through you, a reassurance that eased the ache in your chest. He reached for your hand, his fingers cool against yours, and held it tightly, as if grounding himself in the connection between you.
Before you could respond, though, you heard Jayce calling from behind, his voice laced with good-natured exasperation. “There you two are! Come on, they’re about to start the toast. You’re both missing out.”
Viktor shot you a small smile, his fingers lingering on yours as if reluctant to let go.
“Shall we?”
You nodded but you were still looking out over the city with an expression Viktor couldn’t read. He took a few steps forward, reaching out tentatively before stopping, something uncertain flickering in his eyes.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked, his voice a low murmur, his gaze searching yours.
You forced a smile, nodding. “Yeah,” you replied, though the word felt heavy on your tongue, the weight of what you’d been feeling all evening pressing harder against your chest.
Viktor’s lips quirked up, his eyes softening. He leaned in, closing the small distance between you, but when he went to press a quick kiss to your lips, you instinctively pulled back. The hurt in his eyes was immediate, and he chuckled nervously, trying to hide his disappointment.
“You say that you’re okay,” he murmured, his voice slightly strained, “but then you do… this.”
For a moment, you just looked at him, taking in every detail: the crimson hue of his irises, the gleam of his fangs when he spoke, his posture straighter, stronger. He looked so different, yet so unmistakably him. It was everything he had always wanted — strength, vitality, a body that didn’t betray him at every step. And while you wanted to feel only pride and joy for him, you couldn’t deny the other emotions that simmered beneath the surface.
You wanted him to be happy, to have this life that had been stolen from him for so long. But when you looked at him now, the gap between you felt insurmountable. He was practically immortal, untouched by the limits you were now feeling so acutely in yourself.
“Viktor…” you began, voice catching as you struggled to find the words.
His brows knit together, a flash of fear passing over his face. “What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper. He stepped closer, his hand reaching out to touch your arm, but you didn’t meet his gaze, afraid he’d see everything you were feeling.
“I love you so much,” you finally said, your voice breaking. “So much it hurts, Viktor. But… maybe you’d be better off without me.”
His hand froze mid-air, and for a second, he looked as if you’d struck him. He blinked, his mouth opening slightly before he closed it, his expression tight. “You’re… not serious,” he whispered, the words barely escaping him as he searched your face, looking for any hint that you were joking.
But you held his gaze, your silence an answer in itself.
“You’re not thinking clearly,” he said, his voice growing more desperate, his hands reaching for yours, his grip firm but gentle. “You’re tired, you’re… frustrated. But that’s all it is.”
You let out a trembling breath, glancing down at your intertwined hands, his touch grounding you even as your heart ached. “Viktor, this isn’t… I’m not just tired,” you said, your voice shaking. “It’s that— I will die one day, Viktor. And it’s not fair to you. You deserve someone who can be with you forever.”
“And it was fair to you?” he shot back, his tone sharper than you’d ever heard it. “When I was dying, when we first got into the relationship, you knew that I would die, probably within a few years. And yet you stayed. You knew I couldn’t give you a future, you still…” His voice cracked, and he looked down, his hand slipping from yours as he pressed it against his forehead, closing his eyes as if he couldn’t bear to look at you.
“It was different,” you whispered, swallowing hard. The words sounded hollow even to your own ears.
He let out a bitter laugh, one that was full of hurt and frustration. “Different?” he repeated, his voice shaking. “How was it different? Tell me, please, because I am struggling to understand.”
You opened your mouth to answer, but the words wouldn’t come. In truth, you weren’t sure how to explain it. When you’d first got into a relationship with him, he’d been so frail, so full of life and ambition despite his limitations. You’d fallen in love with him knowing his time was limited, that every day with him was a gift you could lose at any moment. And now… he was the one who would live on, untouched by age or illness, while you were bound by the inevitabilities of your human existence.
“It’s because… you have forever now, Viktor,” you managed, your voice barely a whisper. “You have this chance, this life ahead of you. I don’t want to hold you back from that.”
Viktor’s gaze softened, the anger fading as he stepped closer, his hands finding your shoulders, his grip firm as he forced you to look at him. “You were never— you could never hold me back,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. Don’t you see that? You’ve been with me through everything — you are my future. None of this means anything if I don’t have you by my side.”
His words cut through your resolve, and you felt a surge of tears well up, your chest tightening as you looked at him, his red eyes glistening with a desperation you’d never seen before. He was breaking, and it shattered you to see him like this, so vulnerable, so raw.
“I thought…” you began, your voice choked as you struggled to find the right words. “I thought maybe… you’d be better off with someone… someone like you.”
A flicker of pain crossed his face, and he looked down, his fingers tightening on your shoulders. “So that’s what this is about,” he murmured, a trace of bitterness in his tone. “You think I want… that I’d prefer someone else?”
You shook your head, feeling the tears slip down your cheeks. “It’s just — it’s hard,” you admitted, your voice trembling. “I see you now, and you’re everything you’ve always wanted to be. And I want to be happy for you, but I can’t help but feel like… like you deserve more.”
He let out a shaky breath, his own eyes glistening as he looked at you, his hand moving to cup your cheek. “You’re right,” he said quietly. “I am everything I wanted to be. Stronger, healthier… but without you, none of it means anything. I never… I never wanted immortality. I wanted a life with you, even if it was short. That was enough for me.” His voice broke, and you saw the first tear slip down his cheek, his hand trembling against your skin. “Please… don’t take that away from me,” he whispered, his gaze pleading as he held you, as if he were afraid you’d slip through his fingers.
You couldn’t hold back the sob that escaped you, your heart breaking as you reached up, covering his hand with yours, leaning into his touch. “Viktor… I don’t want to lose you,” you admitted, your voice thick with emotion. “But I’m so afraid. Afraid that one day, I’ll be gone, and you’ll… you’ll regret staying with me.”
He shook his head, his gaze fierce as he pressed his forehead against yours, his breaths shaky as he clung to you. “I would never regret loving you,” he whispered, his voice full of conviction. “No matter what happens, no matter how much time we have… I want to spend it with you. Don’t you understand? You’re the only one I want.”
You felt the weight of his words settle over you, and for a moment, the fear and doubt melted away, replaced by the warmth of his love, his unwavering devotion. He loved you, more deeply than you’d ever thought possible, and in that moment, you realized that maybe… maybe that was enough.
With a trembling breath, you wrapped your arms around him, pulling him close, feeling his heartbeat against yours. “I love you, Viktor,” you whispered, the words spilling from your lips like a confession. “I don’t want to leave you..but—“
He let out a shuddering sigh, his arms tightening around you as if he could hold you there forever. “Then stay,” he murmured, his voice barely audible. “Please… stay.”
You drew in a shaky breath, feeling as if the words that had settled like stones in your throat would shatter everything around you. “I really don’t want you to regret us,” you whispered, struggling to keep your voice steady. Viktor’s eyes softened, and without hesitation, he cupped your face with both hands, gently but firmly guiding you to meet his gaze. His thumbs brushed over your cheeks, wiping away the tears that had already started to fall.
“How could I even—love, listen to me once and for all,” he murmured, his voice steady yet filled with such raw tenderness it made your heart ache. His eyes, normally so focused and intense, were now wide open, inviting you to see every inch of his soul. “I could never regret us. You are… everything.”
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. The silence was filled only by the faint sounds of the party and the soft, steady rhythm of his breathing. As you looked into his eyes, you realized that his feelings for you had never changed, even though so much about him had. There was a truth there, in the depths of his red eyes, that transcended everything else — that his love for you was still, and would always be, unwavering.
But before you could even find the words to respond, Viktor took a small step back, his hands falling from your face as he reached into his coat pocket. And then he pulled out a small velvet box.
The air left your lungs in an instant. You stared at it, unable to process what you were seeing as he held the box in his palm, looking down at it with a strange mixture of determination and vulnerability.
“I’d planned this for… well, longer than I’d like to admit,” he said, his voice laced with a soft, almost shy chuckle as he opened the box, revealing a delicate, glistening ring inside. “I wanted tonight to be perfect. I thought about it so many times, wondering how I would ask you. But all I knew was that I couldn’t… I didn’t want to wait any longer.”
The realization washed over you, sudden and powerful. He’d been planning to propose. He’d come here tonight with the hope of a promise, of solidifying the life you’d built together, and in return, you’d nearly torn it all apart.
A strangled laugh escaped you, and you felt a fresh wave of tears spring to your eyes as you stared at the ring. It was beautiful, simple yet elegant, and it seemed to sparkle with the same quiet strength you’d always seen in him. The mix of emotions overwhelmed you — laughter and tears blending into something that felt too big for words as you buried your face in his chest, gripping his shirt with trembling hands.
“I’m… I’m such an idiot,” you managed between sobs and laughter, your voice muffled against him. “You wanted to… you were going to propose, and I… I nearly ruined it. Viktor, I…” He held you tightly, one hand resting on the back of your head, fingers threading through your hair as he let you ride out the storm of emotions. “No, no,” he murmured soothingly, his voice a soft balm against the rawness of your guilt and regret. “You didn’t ruin anything. I understand, love. I understand more than you know.”
You looked up at him, your eyes still brimming with tears, but his expression was filled with nothing but warmth and understanding. He took your hands, guiding them up to his chest, pressing them over his heart so you could feel the steady, reassuring beat.
“I know you’re afraid,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “And… I know I’m asking for a lot. For you to share your life with someone who will outlive everyone else around him, who’s been changed in ways neither of us fully understand. But please, please believe me when I say that none of that matters. What matters is you, and everything we’ve built together. I would never regret us. Ever.”
You felt another tear slip down your cheek as you reached up, brushing your fingers along the edge of his face. He leaned into your touch, closing his eyes briefly, as if savoring the warmth of your skin against his. And in that moment, you felt a surge of clarity, a sudden certainty that cut through the lingering doubts and fears.
“I want that too,” you whispered, your voice steadying as the weight of your decision settled over you. “I want… all of it. With you.”
Viktor’s eyes opened, his gaze locking onto yours, and you saw the flicker of relief and joy that passed over his face. He lifted the ring from the box, holding it delicately between his fingers as he looked at you with a question in his eyes, a silent plea for confirmation. “Then—Will you marry me?” he asked softly, his voice almost trembling as he held his breath, waiting for your answer.
You nodded, a smile breaking through the lingering tears. “Yes. God—yes. Viktor, I want to be with you. For as long as we have.”
He let out a shaky breath, a relieved, disbelieving laugh escaping him as he slipped the ring onto your finger. His hands were trembling, and you could feel the way he was fighting to hold back his own emotions as he gazed at the ring, his thumb brushing over it gently once it was in place.
When he looked back up at you, his eyes were glistening, the raw vulnerability in them something he’d only ever shown to you. He cupped your face again, his fingers gentle as he wiped away the last remnants of your tears. “I love you,” he whispered, the words soft and reverent, as if he were speaking a sacred truth. “More than anything in this world.”
Before you could respond, he leaned in, capturing your lips in a kiss that was gentle, yet filled with a depth of emotion that took your breath away. You melted into him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you pressed yourself closer, letting the warmth of his embrace wash over you, grounding you in the certainty of his love.
The kiss deepened, and for a few precious moments, there was nothing else — no doubts, no fears, just the quiet, unshakable truth of your love for each other. When you finally pulled back, your breaths mingling as you leaned your forehead against his, you felt a sense of peace settle over you, as if all the pieces had finally fallen into place.
“Thank you,” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
He smiled, his thumb tracing gentle circles on your cheek. “There’s no need to thank me,” he replied softly. “Just… be here with me. That’s all I’ll ever need.”
You held his gaze, feeling the weight of his words settle over you, and you knew, without a doubt, that this was where you were meant to be.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has problems with this season's pacing, especially act 2. I'm still enjoying the show but I'm so sad they didn't get more episodes to take it slow with the narrative, especially considering they're adding a ton of new stuff to the story and the lore.
Heavy spoilers ahead!!
I feel like Ambessa is taking too much space, for one. I love her, but with all her screentime she's not even doing much. We could've had more Caitlyn time, some introspection, a look at how she feels about her "relationship" with Maddie. Does she have nightmares about Jinx? Does she dream of Vi? Does she see Vi's eyes in Maddie's?
Or, we could've gotten Caitlyn's thoughts about Ambessa and everything she's doing. Does Cait feel guilty for endorsing her methods? Does she see some sort of twisted maternal figure, someone who guides her like a seasoned soldier while also appearing as an overall stable, mature figure she can rely on?
I'm also sad we didn't get actual Emo!Vi. On YouTube it felt like it was a montage of multiple scenes, but turns out that's all that there is to her. What's her relationship with Loris? What does Loris say about her declining condition? Does Vi see Vander in his face, in his company?
And don't get me started on Isha. I still grew to like her, despite the short screentime she has, but I feel like they wasted her by killing her off now in the last episode of Act 2. We saw her with Jinx, but not enough. Did Jinx flinch away from her in the beginning? Did she try to put some distance like she tried to push her off during the fight in Act 1? Did Jinx let her in begrudgingly, telling herself she doesn't want to curse another person but knowing she's actually curious and maybe even fond of her company?
And who the fuck are the members of the peanut patrol? We saw Loris, but barely heard him talk in the beginning. Vi would never open up to a stranger, let alone an Enforcer (even though it wasn't exactly clear he's one), but the first time they met and drank their asses off we could've had something meaningful. Loris asking a question that makes Vi think, maybe regarding Cait's proposition, or offering an external point of view whether it's to convince her to join or not.
Maddie does it, by mentioning the fight Caitlyn put up to get the badge, but some more convincing wouldn't have hurt. Vi is infamous for her stubbornness after all. And who is the other guy? I hope they'll come back in Act 3 with some more information, but even then it feels too late if you consider everything that's happened with Maddie and Loris off camera.
The Black Rose. That's it. That's my umpteenth problem with this season. I have nothing against this new part of the plot, it's actually pretty interesting, but it's clear we don't have much space for it with everything that's happening. It's cramped in there, it's the reason why we have so much Ambessa and so little Mel. It feels like we're watching two different series/seasons edited together, because the "arcane waking up" was pretty much enough of a twist for me.
The arcane waking up, Viktor becoming Jesus, Jayce becoming Judas. Yes, we'll see more in act 3, but it means we won't see as much of everything else as we could've.
This series was about Zaun and Piltover, about the collision between these two very different worlds that are also two faces of the same coin. We don't see much of the Jinxers and their rebellion, we don't see how Piltover is reacting to the new administration. We talk too much about Noxus and I don't feel the tension between topside and undercity even though it's theoretically growing to the point of snapping.
It's extremely sad, because season 1 left a brilliant, positive memory in my mind. Its writing was top level, and it still would be if only they had a little more time, a couple episodes more, a bigger canvas to work on.
I still love the show, I'm still in love with the characters and I know it's not complete so I can't judge it in a definitive way. Yet it stings.

Hm. Cuz like-
Jayce spent weeks? months? praying, working, waiting for his partner to come back to life, wondering how he was allowed to escape the bombing while Viktor took the full force of the violence.
{ Also side note: my boy Viktor is like, always getting the shit beat out of him by life like man can’t we disabled folk be lucky and happy and safe for once-
…can you tell I felt seen in Arcane }
Anyways Jayce was already bisexual but this was the moment his ability to yearn for someone’s very soul and presence was awakened in him. Stop talking about the sexual awakenings, let’s talk about the EMOTIONAL awakenings because boy oh boy did you see how happy he was when Viktor popped out of the sourdough starter. HE WAS SO HAPPY HE WAS SOSO RELIEVED TO HAVE HIS PARTNER BACK.
{ Side note: it’s also so interesting how Arcane writers play with ideas of physical versus mental capabilities with Viktor. He is constantly in a character arc where there is a tug of war between his intellect and empathy and his physical ability and bodily recovery. Idk just as a person with disabilities it’s so interesting to see how he satisfies the constraints of his situation/roles as he “evolves”. Idk if that made sense but thanks for bearing with me- }
——
Okokok, now for Viktor, his arc was INSANE. Bro seemed like he lost almost all his emotions coming out of the Hexcore, and was “healed” physically while losing some of his essential human and mental capabilities (eh eh? you see it now? eh?) He was metahuman and simply followed his glorious evolution directive n all that…
UNTIL!!!! Until, in one timeline, he had to suffer the “fields of endless solitude”, sitting with the Hexcore husk of Jayce on top of the tower. He had to lose his partner and go through the same or similar process of grief, guilt, regret, and pain that Jayce did in the OG timeline in order to regain his human emotions. AND IT IS HERE THAT HIS EMOTIONAL AWAKENING STARTS TO HAPPEN. VIKTOR LEARNS HOW TO YEARN. HOW TO MISS SOMEONE FOR THEIR PRESENCE AND THEIR COMPANIONSHIP.
God like guys Viktor’s sub-arc of losing and rediscovering humanity and his emotions is soooo powerful to me. Like his speech at the end, that humanity speech, like “despite everything, humanity—the good and the bad parts—always prevail”…………. idk…
…I could just be yapping and this could be a total misinterpretation but like 😭😭😭 ARCANE U DID SO GOOD 🥳🥳🥳 I HAD MY DOUBTS WHEN THE PACING OF ACT 1&2 FELT WAY OFF BUT THEN YOU DROPPED ACT 3 AND MY LIFE FELT COMPLETE.

I've been thinking about how Jayce and Viktor are like the same person in different circumstances.
They're both idealists, who believe in science, and want to improve people's lives. They're both loyal friends. They both have confidence in their own abilities, and are willing to break rules to realize their dreams.
They even both come from positions of (relative) disadvantage.
The difference is that things came *relatively* easily for Jayce. He was from a lower house, but still *a* recognized house; his home life seems relatively modest at the start of the show, but he has a patron and therefore access to his patron's money. But more than that, Jayce is a natural at things. It seems like whatever he does, he picks it up quickly and is good at it -- whether science or public speaking, or politics or blacksmithing. And on top of that he's good-looking and charismatic.
Now because of all of this, some people like to accuse Jayce of being vain, which is demonstably false. That's part of it too -- he doesn't let his success go to his head, but he does just kind of roll with it.
Whereas Viktor -- he struggled to get where he was.
Which isn’t to say that Jayce doesn't face challenges. But it wasn't to the same depth as Viktor, and I think that's a quantitative difference that has a qualitative impact.
Like when Viktor and Jayce first meet, it's Jayce's life's work that's at stake, Jayce is literally about to off himself over it. But Viktor is the one with the hunger to push further.
That "don't ask permission, just do it, just prove yourself" attitude is related to Viktor's isolation, and his tendency to act on his own.
While Jayce is much more maleable. But that changes after he gets sucked into the post-apocalypse AU.
A lot of people have pointed out that Jayce's AU journey is a symbolic reflection of Viktor's life. But why did Jayce have to go through that? It's not to understand or appreciate Viktor better. Jayce always cared for and admired Viktor.
It's for Jayce's own sake that he goes through that. When he gets back, he's very very obviously different, of course. And one of those differences is that when he tells Salo that he can't let him walk away (like he told Vi after they raided the shimmer plant), he actually follows through. He's not the same piece of jelly that he was before.
And I think that also gets to why he lashes out at Mel the way he does. Obviously he's been through a lot and is looking for someone to blame. But more specifically, I think Mel reminds him of how weak-willed he was, and instead of dealing with that internally he projects his anger onto her. Which he then apologizes for, because he may have changed, but he's still Jayce, he's still a stand-up guy.
No conclusion to this post, just a bunch of musings
