There's been a married lesbian couple literally since the first episode; Hen is a main character with complex characterization and development, and a fleshed-out relationship with her wife. Another character, a middle aged man, came out as gay while straight-married with children, after which he got divorced and got a boyfriend. The Lone Star spinoff has a main trans man character, along with a main gay couple who got married on screen! Queerbaiting requires a lack of explicitly canon queer characters!

Buck is incredibly important representation, particularly for bi people, and we shouldn't minimize that. But can we please not act like this was the very first instance of queer people ever on the show?*

*not to mention the racial dynamics of throwing seven (7! ALL SEVEN OF THEM!) queer characters of color under the rug for our Go Whiteboy Go moment
