realising that a lot of “queer drama” that is popularised on this app and tiktok is really not my business because those spaces don’t gaf about black people. like no one is reporting on black and poc business so I actually don’t care anymore 🙏 even the queer theories and histories we share on here are super white centered and western. like and that’s what we’re working off of (basically soley) — western schools of thought to try and change the LGBTQ community without thinking about how it affects anyone whose not white? ya snooze.

My 15yo just texted me to express how sad she is about the election results. They identify as tri-gender and bisexual. Naturally, anyone even remotely aware of Project 2025 can understand why she's worried. I'm doing my best to apologize for how bad things are going to get while still trying to celebrate the down-ballot victories.

My ex-wife texts me shortly after to say, "stop texting with her about politics; she shouldn't be crying before school, she should be celebrating turning 15!"

That level of head-in-the-sand parenting is infuriating.

Why education regarding gender and sexual orientation is important.

Let me tell you a story. When I was a toddler, in elementary school, I wasn’t exposed at all to the LGBTQ+ community. I didn’t even know it existed. My mother was dating a woman at the time, and she hid it from me. I grew up with no exposure to the LGBTQ+ community. When I was in 5th grade, my cousin married his partner, they’re a gay couple. As a result of my lack of exposure to the community, I honestly thought it was really odd at the time. I didn’t agree with it, I looked at them like they were different. Over time, and with more exposure to the community, I’ve come to accept all, and nowadays I’m pansexual and transfem as well. The point of this story however, is to say that not everyone turns out accepting. A lack of exposure in the early years of a child’s life could very much just breed blatant homophobia and transphobia. That’s the harm in the bills being passed all across America. Without exposure to the LGBTQ+ community, all children will grow up thinking like I did. Thinking that the LGBTQ+ community is just a group of weird folks who are different. Disapproving of the lifestyle just for being different from what they know. That sort of conditioning lasts a lifetime, I know, I still feel it in the back of my head sometimes. Education is important, it teaches children how to take on the world, if we don’t show them every aspect of their communities, they’ll grow up closed minded. Thanks for reading.

TLDR: Grew up with no exposure to the LGBTQ+ community. It leads to judgement and hate. Educating children on gender and sexual orientation is important.

Briana Boston faces terrorism charges and CEOs are getting free therapy

Briana Boston is a 42 year old mother of three from Florida who is under house arrest for expressing her frustration at her insurance (which she PAYS for) who denied her claim. She owns ZERO guns and doesn't have a criminal record.

She was originally held in prison for $100,000 bail. They have not dropped the charges and she is under house arrest even after widespread backlash.

They are trying to charge her with terrorism. They want her to spend 15 years in prison.

They are calling her a Luigi Mangione copycat. As if she killed someone. She made a indirect, not at all credible threat.

Meanwhile...

I want every woman who has ever faced threats online, stalking, etc to bring this Briana Boston up at every opportunity. Every time you were told by police that there was nothing they could do, know that they not only CAN do something, but they WILL do something, just not for you.
