You don’t make much money working for the FBI. They pay you a modest stripe end, one that parallels how much it would cost to house you in the penal system. It’s just enough to afford a shitty apartment in an even shittier part of town. When you factor in transport, utilities and food, there’s barely enough cash left over to purchase art supplies, let alone any luxuries. It makes things harder when Brendon’s birthday comes around. He’s a man of wealth, of means and you barely have two dollars in your purse to rub together.

It shouldn’t matter but it does.

Brendon was the first person who showed you any kindness when you agreed to work for the FBI, he treated you like a human being, saw you for who you are. It was him that lobbied for you to consult with Special Investigations because you were dying out there in Art Crimes under Henderson’s control. Brendon had given you back a part of yourself you thought you’d lost, he’d shown you a different path and you will forever be grateful for that.

It’s your dress that helps you figure it out, the black one with the yellow sunflowers. You’d picked it up at a thrift store a couple of days before, it’s in surprisingly good condition. It’s insane that you used to spend thousands of dollars on clothes in your previous life and now you’re trying to work out if you can make a twenty stretch.

You’re sitting at your desk when Brendon sets a mug of coffee down in front of you. He takes up his usual perch on the corner as you tidy away the pictures of the Degas you’ve been studying. It’s a fake, you can see it even without seeing the piece of art up close.

“I’ve always loved sunflowers.” He tells you, his fingertips brushing over the fabric of your sleeve. “The problem is I’m allergic to them, I break out in hives if I’m anywhere even close to one.”

“What do you like about them?” You had asked him and he’d given you that smile and a half-hearted shrug.

“They just make me happy.” He tells you, you can see the truth of it in his eyes. It’s such a silly little thing but the fact he’s chosen to share it with you, speaks volumes. “They’re fun, colourful, they make me think of brighter days. I think that’s why I’m smiling so much this morning, your dress…”

He trails off, his gaze slipping down to his coffee mug as his cheeks flush pink.

“Maybe I’ll try to wear it more often.” You tease and he laughs at that. It’s such a rich, vibrant sound and it lights up something inside of you.

You like this man, really like him.

You haven’t felt like this in a long time.

It takes a few days for you paint the picture. You choose an A5 sized piece of paper because you feel canvas would be too intimate and you aren’t ready to give that much of yourself to someone else. Creating art, it’s a private experience, when you gift it to someone else you’re really handing them a piece of your soul, showing them your true self.

You spend your evenings hunched over the battered desk in your apartment, working to the sound of Vance Joy as you mix your paints. You have a very specific colour pallet in mind. A rich blue that matches the hue of Brendon’s eyes, a vibrant sunshine yellow that contrasts against it. You have a scene in mind from the last time you were in North Dakota, four sunflowers swaying lightly in the breeze alongside the barn your family used to own. It’s the last happy memory you have of that place and you’re giving it to Brendon.

Brendon doesn’t expect to spend his birthday shuttling between LA and Salt Lake City but then again it’s the nature of the job. He’d been looking forward to getting dinner with Simone and Cutty but it’s past midnight by the time he gets into the office. His birthday’s over before he even realises it.

It’s when he collapses into his desk chair that he notices the brown paper envelope sitting on his  desk, his name written in your pretty looped scrawl. He’s intrigued when he picks it up, his fingers breaking the seal eagerly.

He can’t help but smile when he sees the artwork. It’s an original piece, painted by your hand, he’s known you long enough to recognise your style. The bold use of colour, the delicacy of the drawing itself. He thinks he’d know you anywhere.

When he turns over the piece, he studies the words written in dark pencil and something just blossoms in his chest.

Pitti Immagine Uomo is a fashion fair held twice a year in Florence. This year marked the 78th time the fair has been held, and Jil Sander and Haider Ackermann held runway shows. Here we can see the breath of the creators who gathered in Italy.

Haider Ackermann, a perennial favorite at Paris Fashion Week, was excited by the news that he would be presenting his first men's show at Pitti.

"When I visited the palace, I discovered a kind of abandoned, forgotten beauty. From there I developed ideas for this collection, especially for the women's line. On the other hand, I had a clear image in my mind for the men's line."

This time, Haider chose Palazzo Corsini, which faces Parione Street, overlooking the Arno River near the Ponte Vecchio, as the venue for the show. It was the atrium courtyard of the Baroque palace, the birthplace of the Renaissance. At 8 p.m. on June 16, in the dimly lit salon facing the courtyard, candles were lit in brass candlesticks, and tall silver cups were piled high with fruit, almost spilling out, like a Caravaggio still life. The tables were set up with dramatic use of light and shadow, as if bathed in light and emerging from the darkness, foreshadowing the theme of the show. With 30 minutes until the opening, several luxurious chandeliers were hanging in the venue as if they were floating in the air, nostalgically illuminating the runway, which was decorated with antique chairs and sofas.

The show was opened by Jamie Borchert, muse to top photographers and designers. The moment she appeared wearing a silk dress with a long train that traced the ground where a kimono was arranged, the venue fell silent and the audience was transported to another world. The show started with Jamie playing a trio of piano, violin, and cello in front of the grand piano placed in the center of the airy courtyard. The dancers slowly walked along the runway, matching their steps to the sweet and elegant melody.

Every time the models passed by the stingray, the generous amount of silk used caught the wind, creating lustrous and beautiful drapes, while the broadcloth sparkled as it reflected the light.

"I wanted to express in my own way the forgotten beauty of the great hall that appears in one scene of Giuseppe Verdi's 'La Traviata'," says Haider.

The collection, which was full of oriental elements, told a story of a mysterious traveling man and a woman abandoned in a deserted palace. The smooth silk, delicate hand-made embroidery, obi and babouche, and other oriental details made the look pirate-like and noble masculine. Leopard print, pajama-like striped pants, and clothes studded with elaborate decorations like medieval costumes presented decadent elegance and the spirit of the bohemian nomad. The man that inspired Haider was Helmut Berger, an actor discovered by the master Luchino Visconti.

"When I create a collection, I get inspired by looking closely at other people. But I need to look beyond the surface and see what's inside. I can only portray myself, and I can't portray things that I don't have. My past and memories unconsciously emerge."

What he really wanted to paint this time was his own "carnet de voyage" - a scrapbook of pure and essential beauty. He never wanted to pursue beauty, but was inspired by letters addressed to someone else and forgotten flowers, which became a part of him and were expressed as the image source for his work.

The show ended with a solo performance of "Knock in'on Heaven's Door" by Jamie. The applause never stopped in the venue.

A flash-colored look inspired by nature is presented against the backdrop of the setting sun and the greenery of the garden.

An hour when a miracle happened that seems too good to be true

On June 17th, Jil Sander's men's collection was unveiled against the backdrop of the beautiful natural surroundings of Villa Gamberaia, located on the outskirts of Florence. Unsettled weather continued over Florence. There was a sudden heavy rainstorm in the morning, and unseasonably cold rain fell several times towards the evening. In the midst of all this, Raf Simons chose an outdoor garden as the venue for his show. The show started at 8 p.m. Fortunately, the rain clouds cleared around 7:30 p.m., and the sky began to take on a vibrant sunset. The venue was already filled with media and press from around the world, gazing out at the breathtaking view from the hilltop with a glass of champagne in hand, and their expectations for the spectacle that was about to unfold were building. Everyone was transfixed by the evening sky from dusk until the curtains of night fell, sighing in amazement. The gradually darkening sky spread dramatic colors like a Botticelli painting, evoking the color palette used in this collection.

It was as if even the color of the sky had been meticulously directed. Everyone was left breathless by the spectacle that lasted just one hour, and the excitement for the spectacle reached a climax.

A flood of colours overflowing into the garden

The show began in a garden shrouded in darkness, with the hint of rain looming, as models appeared wearing clothes in vivid color combinations. Each piece, including voluminous coats, slim tailored pants that hugged the body, belted trench coats with colorful tapes and pleats on the backside, double-breasted blazers in lightly finished techno taffeta, and micro mini-length shorts, faithfully reproduced the sartorial silhouette, while the extreme colors brilliantly eliminated suit codes, presenting the ultimate modernism that is characteristic of Raf Simons. The color palette included vivid colors such as geranium, fuchsia, camellia, viola, iris, and lime grass. Original floral prints were created by combining several flowers, while traditional styles were used to create a more feminine look.

The collection brings bold colours to simple items, reinterpreting traditional sartorial techniques in a completely new way. The attention to materials, cuts and details is more clearly highlighted, and the silhouettes in rich fluorescent colours cast long shadows, creating a perfect contrast in the natural surroundings.

A unique designer who turns adversity into strength

Raf Simons showed a return to the brand's origins. Geometric graphics and artificial color blocks are by no means new ventures for him. The pleats on the back of the coat also recall past collections. However, as the heir to the history of Jil Sander, the beauty of tailoring he has established remains unwavering, and he always leaves a message that creativity is fun and requires contemplation. At the same time that the last model disappeared into the garden at the finale, the navy gray clouds that had been enveloping the sky broke their silence as if they could no longer bear it, and rained praise on the venue.

"Dani! Your random dude opened his eyes!" was the first thing VR-LA heard when he woke up, the words coming from a random man carrying what looked to be a stack of metal containers.

Those words were followed by loud footfalls, somebody with heavy boots running over metal flooring that's hollow beneath. Very suddenly, somebody was looking down at him, their hands on the edge of whatever he was laying on. They blinked at him before squinting, their golden eyes sweeping over him, checking for consciousness.

VR-LA opened his mouth to speak, but the attempt only brought him pain and hoarse noises. His lips were painfully dry, his head was pounding. He was probably severely dehydrated. The person gained sudden awareness of his state, sprinting off again, yelling. "One second, buddy, I'll grab you some water! Don't pass out again!"

VR-LA would certainly try his best. He flexed his fingers, seeing how much control he had of his body. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary there, so he tried to push himself up into sitting up. He felt an intense dizziness as soon as he was up, bile in the back of his throat that he tried to hold back.

VR-LA threw up on himself.

VR-LA was now in a shirt that wasn't his own, wrapped up in a blanket, and being examined by the person who had apparently saved him. He had learned her name was Dani, and that she had been born after the events like him, and that she was under the care of somebody born before the events, named Oto. They were both in his bunker, and the shirt, which smelled like it had been dunked in the water used to clean a bong. Bad and like ashes.

Dani finished examining him, seeming rather proud of herself. "You just need some food and water in you, buddy." She chuckled a bit, a very distinct little 'eheheh'. "You'll heal up quick."

VR-LA doubted that from how shitty he felt. "...thank you."

There was a moment of silence, a scraggly looking cat with a prosthetic front leg coming up to Dani and rubbing up against her legs. She picked the cat up into her lap, starting to pet. "...you gonna introduce yourself? Say where you're from?"

"Oh, yes..." VR-LA strained for a second, trying to remember even just the basics. "Hello. I am VR-LA."

"Hi, VR-LA." Dani said, smiling a bit.

"I think I had been travelling with a group and we got attacked, I know I cared for them very much, but..." VR-LA struggled for a second. "...I don't remember much more."

Dani gave him a sympathetic look and a pat-pat to his shoulder. "You must have hit your head hard." She mused, thinking. "Well, we can come up with ideas based on what we found on you!"

VR-LA tilted his head at Dani.

"You had some soap, which I think Plug tried to eat, so your group was successful enough to have extra, hard to make luxuries!" Dani said, crossing her arms in intense thought. "And you had a ring on your ring finger, so Oto said you were probably married."

Marriage... That felt correct.

"You didn't have spare clothes though, so your group might have had some sort of transport, which had your heavier supplies."

"Why would I be carrying soap then?"

"It was very little soap, so probably washing your hands?" Dani shrugged. "Oh, and you had no weapon? That was weird, everyone thought that was weird."

VR-LA gave that a long moment of thought. "I think I dropped it?"

"Maybe we can go out and retrace your steps later then to find it. It might help you remember!" Dani clapped on the shoulder, earning a pained sound from VR-LA. "...oh, yikes, sorry. Forgot."

After some of the last crazy few weeks, I finally finished another character sheet based on the art from the Hello Puppets games with another OC I created if the show did not get canceled, no fire, and no possessed murder puppets ever happened. This character was created when the Lackadaisy Pilot came out, but I added some Helluva Boss (don't watch the show if you are under 18 kids, please wait) mafia episode influences.

On the outside, Francis Nack, Father of Nick Nack, runs an Arcade Casino in one of the cities near the town the Handeemen lives. But in reality, Francis is the French Mob Boss and uses his Arcade Casino as a coverup for a money racketeering scheme. Sadly, after years of emotional and physical abuse, when Nick was about to turn 18 in a month, he was secretly approached by a banker who was hired by his missing mother, Jancis, years ago to give Nick his inheritance from her to use if he wanted to get away from the crime family and use that money for anything he wants to pursue. Obviously, Nick took the money, went to an art college, and years later joined the newly formed Handeemen group that later became a show. Blessing or a curse, on the premiere episode of Season 3, when the Handeemen accepted an offer to help a kid win a pinball tournament, they are suddenly picked up by a mysterious luxurious travel escort transportation. To Nick's (even Virginia's) dismay, it turned out that the pinball tournament was taking place at the same Arcade Casino with Francis waiting for them. As Francis's premiere episode progresses, his intentions are made clear becoming the main antagonist for Season 3. Yep, Season 3 became a French parody of The Godfather.

Historically, the law chased the Mafia out of Las Vegas during the Mid-1980s. Whoever got the character approved by the censors must have been the many therapists at the time when PSA episodes really started to kick in the late 1980s/early 1990s to spread awareness of child abuse because the Handeemen fandom was theorizing if Nick came from an abusive home, but nobody was expecting The Godfather route. So what better way to bring awareness than by making the abuser the main antagonist for the season. Francis is literally the French version of The Godfather. Along with Lackadaisy and Helluva Boss, his biggest inspiration came from the 2003 French animated comedy, The Triplets of Belleville, which is a CLASSIC!!! Though be warned of mature content in the film since the movie is for audiences thirteen and up. The mafia in that film is similar to the Nack Mob in this AU. Like father like son, they are almost alike, except for height and Francis is commonly nicknamed Scarface for his scar. Francis originally had Brown Hair that faded over time. To get the season approved by the producers and the censors, instead of having a regular Casino as a backdrop, they instead went with an Arcade Casino with arcade games, pinballs, and fair games in a classic Las Vegas-like setting.

Nick's mom, Jancis Nack, was a mixture of Riley and Daisy with Audrey Hepburn influences. Speaking of Daisy, Jancis's hair was inspired by Daisy's blueprints from the Hello Puppets games. Nick's mom's disappearance becomes one of the biggest mysteries in the show, some thinking Francis had something to do with it. So yeah, Nick has 🎵 parent/daddy issues🎵 everybody!
