"Luke you're back!" You looked over to your boyfriend, excitement filling your whole body. You ran over to him squeezing him as tight as you could

Liea and Han wouldn't tell you when he had initially gotten back because he had requested you not see him in such a state. So you would be sitting in your room waiting for him to get back while he waited in his room for weeks, letting the scars and bruises heal.

Even if they would heal even the slightest bit, it was better than you seeing him in such a gruesome manner.

"I'm so happy you're back, I've missed you" but something was off, Luke had his whole face buried on the top of your head, and when you tried to pull away to get a good look at your beautiful boyfriend he wouldn't budge

At first you thought it was just him being stubborn, well he always had been. So you stayed there in his arms for a good minute.

"alright Luke that's- Luke-" you tried pulling away but he wouldn't let you. He thought he was ready for you to see him new scars but he was wrong..

"Luke! I want to see you-" when you finally got out of his grasp you saw what he was trying to hide. He had long, fresh looking scars running down his face, one down his left eye and one through his lip.

In fact, when he first saw the scar running through his top and bottom lip he was scared you wouldn't kiss him anymore.

Your hand was placed gently on the side of his face running your thumb up and down his scar

"baby...w-what happened? Are you okay?" You were fighting back tears at this point because all you could think about was how badly this must've hurt. You didn't even know what it was from...but the scars were so big and drawn almost all the way down his face.

"it was a wompa, no big deal" Luke looked away from you down to his boots embarrassed.

"Luke I-" you wrapped your arms around him again "I'm so sorry"

Your boyfriend wrapped his arms around you and now he was squeezing you too "I'm sorry you have to see them. T-The scars I mean" your eyes met and you wanted to slap him

How could he ever think that a few wompa marks would ever change your feelings toward him

"I'll always love you"

And at that sentence he felt so small. The way you loved him made him so soft, he felt like a teenage boy in love

"I love you too"

Calling Kylo Ren "Ben" feels like deadnaming him

Here me out: Ben was feeling fundamentally altered after his traumatic experience with Luke Skywalker, and as part of separating himself from it, he chose a new name.

So referring to him as "Ben" feels like denoting who he was before, and "Kylo" for who he is afterward.

In that way, I feel like Rey insisting on calling him "Ben" after she learns that name is sort of disrespectful of his decision to distance himself from his family.

Though, I acknowledge him distancing himself through his name does ring a bit hollow when you remember his near-constant comparisons of himself to Darth Vader, BUT I would argue that that was implanted by Palpatine.

Because fundamentally Palpatine didn't care to acknowledge that his Grand Plan was just fuckin wrong, yet he's trying so hard to hold on to all that work he'd done.

But he's just a stubborn, vain man, and it would've been baller to see a Kylo that chose that name for himself.

ALSO!! Wouldn't it be baller if he chose the name "Kylo", no last name? Wouldn't that coincide so very well with "Rey", no last name?? The dichotomy of someone with no family because his family was slowly killing him, vs someone with no family who was only staying alive for the hope they'd be there for her?

And while we're on the topic of Rey, I can respect her taking on the last name "Skywalker" IF Luke had shown that he, y'know,, liked her at all? He seemed pretty begrudging about the whole thing to me.

Wouldn't it have been cool for her to adopt the name "Palpatine" as a way to reclaim power from that horrible man?

based her off of the Andean people and tried balancing out cute and alien with her design. this experiment was interesting, but at the end, I was satisfied with her design.

Smoke, black and pendulous, hangs in the air. It is thick, hard to swallow, hard to speak -- to breathe. He cannot see, cannot gasp around his own choking, eyes stinging. Something is wet on the floor, slippery. In the darkness there a haze of light, humming, splitting the ash and soot and screams in the night, a streak of blue like a long exposure hologram, arcing in a violent ballet against a clash of green, until the sparks blind white, a hoarse chant demanding to do it, end it, and a scream of his name in an all too familiar voice is cut short by his own hand -- 

Ben gasps awake, drenched in sweat. The same nightmare again, always the same one. One would think he’d be used to it by now or rather, he should know how to quiet his mind better by now. Thirty years and his thoughts are still too loud, so loud that he worries he may have woken everyone else up at the temple.

How does Hercules feel about Goliath, if he has any of his own opinions at all? Does he just go off Titan's word?

Like father, like son.

I’ve talked a bit about Hercules’ complex relationship with his mother and confusing interpretation of his father a bit before but truly these two concepts are deeply intertwined and talking about one without at least referencing the other is only telling half the story.

Herc’s ‘relationship’ or rather lack thereof with his father (given his less than alive status) is… messy to say the least. Growing up he gained pretty much all of his knowledge of his father from his mother and the occasional past employee who both would have had it in their best interests to skew his image a tad.

When Hercules was very young, Titan often would get drunk on expensive wine and dump many of her own complicated, messy and contradictory feelings towards Goliath on him, leading to a lot of Hercules’ own feelings on his father. As he got older, he began to research more on the man himself rather than relying on biased retellings from his mother and instead read up on newspaper articles, biopics and personal notes, all of which of course have no reason to skew the truth.

Overall, Hercules has raging parental issues but his emotions specifically towards his father are along the lines of;

Hating him. Thinking he was a genius. Thinking he was a fool and an imbecile. Wanting nothing more than to be him. Resenting him for what he was. Idolising him for what he could’ve been. Etc. You get the picture.

I’ve mentioned it before, but Goliath isn’t a person in the story present, but rather a collection of ideas people had about him and a legacy he never got to tell himself. It’s all about the holes people leave behind and how you construct an image of someone who never existed to fill them.

I'm convinced that if Kylo Ren truly died in The Throne Room scene with Snoke, then Ben's proposal to Rey about joining him would've worked. She would eagerly accept his hand without hesitation or conflict. Luke would proudly declare that he won't have to be The Last Jedi and can rest easy with Ben Solo finally back. The galaxy is in safe hands.

STAR WARS MEN AND FALLING ASLEEP ON THEM

ANAKIN SKYWALKER

You had both had a long day. Anakin sat on the couch while you laid your head in his lap facing away from him. He ran his hands through your hair as he spoke softly telling you about the day he had. At first you had responded in full sentences, then mostly just hums of agreement until you stopped responding completely. "Darling?" He leaned forward a little bit to get a look at your face. He tilted you towards him to see your eyes closed. He smiled at the sight of your sleeping form. He didn't want to move in case he woke you but he couldn't help but want you closer. Anakin carefully scooped you up and cradled you against his chest. You stirred slightly but he cooed at you hoping he hadn't woken you up. He couldn't help but close his eyes as he held you, feeling a kind of peace he only felt with you.

OBI WAN KENOBI

You and Obi Wan sat in one of the back corners of the Jedi library. While you were both supposed to be researching, you both ended up moving slowly closer to each other on the couch. You sat shoulder to shoulder pretending to read but mostly focusing on the way your bodies touch. Slowly you rested your head on his shoulder, he went stiff beneath you but relaxed. You got a little too relaxed and closed your eyes, falling asleep. The data pad you were holding slipped from your grasp. When you didn't stir Obi Wan angled his head to look to you. His hands felt clammy at your predicament. He was obviously not open about his feelings but he did not want to give up this small moment with you. Carefully he wrapped an arm around your shoulders, making sure to keep your head rested on his and played with your hair as you continued to rest. He would come up with as many excuses as he could to savour the moment.

KYLO REN

Kylo sat at his desk as you came into the room. He did not look up as you came towards him and squeezed between him and his desk to sit in his lap. He chuckled softly as he adjusted your position to sit comfortably in his lap. You wrapped your legs around him and laid your head on his shoulder. He ran a hand up and down your back as he continued his work. Eventually he sighed, tired of work, "My star, are you tired?" With your lack of response he leaned back to see your eyes closed. He smiled softly as you slept wrapped around him. Kylo wrapped his arms around you, resting his head on yours, taking in your scent and the feeling of you. He rarely allowed himself such moments of affection but for right now he would indulge selfishly.
