Kedung Kayan Falls is a hidden gem located within Mount Merapi National Park. This very interesting tourist attraction is located on the border of Magelang and Boyolali districts, Central Java, Indonesia. Kedung Kayan Falls originates exclusively from a spring on Mount Merbabu, and is located at an altitude of approximately 1200 meters above sea level. Kedung Kayan Falls  has a height of about 40 meters, it is very powerful, the volume of water flow never decreases, even at the height of the dry season . To get to the waterfall, you will need to go down to the river bed and even cross it into a ford in one place. The beauty of this waterfall can be admired from different angles. Either from above, from the side or from the front.
The area around the waterfall itself has been developed in such a way as to become a tourist destination. There are several supporting facilities such as accommodation and campsites around. The atmosphere in the waterfall location itself is not too lively, so you can more freely enjoy the freshness of nature. The water falling from this waterfall flows into a small rocky river. You can go into the pool and play in the water while listening to the splash of the waterfall.

On January 26 1788, the First Fleet transporting convicts from Britian arrived on the lands of the Eora Nation and the establishment of a British colony in Australia began.
In 1938, First Nations activists declared this date a Day of Mourning. Gathering at a thousands-strong protest in Sydney they passed a resolution that:
"This being the 150th Anniversary of the Whiteman's seizure of our country, [we] HEREBY MAKE PROTEST against the callous treatment of our people by the whitemen during the past 150 years, AND WE APPEAL to the Australian nation of today to make new laws for the education and care of Aborigines, we ask for a new policy which will raise our people TO FULL CITIZEN STATUS and EQUALITY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY."
Although the day is now official observed as Australia Day, Victorian community organisers call it “an annual reminder of invasion, occupation, genocide and the ongoing impacts of colonisation that continue to destroy our land and waters”.
As Australians ourselves, living on the stolen lands of the Kulin Nation, we encourage you to spend the day doing what you can to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Black Rainbow and BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation are two organisations working to support queer First Nations people, that you in turn can support.

End-of-year witchcraft in the Southern Hemisphere
I've been thinking a lot about how we do end-of-year witchy stuff during the summer. Many of the witchy creators I follow talk so much about winter being this great time to reflect on the year, with the Winter Solstice being this cosy, meditative time for reflection. They then speak to the welcoming of the sun during the solstice, allowing you to dream big for 2024 and set those goals and intentions which get brighter with the sun, etc, etc. Naturally, these kind of descriptions and energies aren't super helpful for me in the Southern Hemisphere. As such, I have been trying to cultivate my reflections and new-year dreamings to move with the unique weather.
I just celebrated the Summer Solstice/Litha. It was sunny, I said prayers to Helios, bought some sun flowers for my home, and did a big spring clean. I feel a big clean before harvest season/Lammas or the "height" of the hot summer makes most sense for my practice. It clears out space for the upcoming year and helps me ground before the busyness of Christmas.
Although that day happened to be sunny, as I write this post a great thunderstorm is rolling in. Living in Naarm/Melbourne (Australia), our weather is pretty inconsistent (yeah the: "melbourne has 6 seasons in 1 day!" comment is pretty true). The Wurrundjeri people and other Kulin nation peoples call this season Garrawang, Kangaroo-Apple Season. It is characterised by changing, thundering weather and long days with short nights. I honestly feel that this chaotic weather suits the "silly season," especially as a queer person when holidays are always that bit trickier. I'm no chaos magician, but I think it would make a lot of sense to harness that in a way that feels good to you. I think this energy is overlooked by trying to fit our experience of weather to the (Celtic, and frequently Americanised) Wheel of the Year - just because it is "summer" really doesn't mean it's all about sunshine magick. Especially in Australia where summers can be a brutal time for many crops.
For me, this shifting weather has been an opportunity to reflect on the previous year of 2023. Not just reminding myself of things I achieved, but things I didn't. Some goals can move into the new year, but many I came to realise were just unrealistic or didn't actually resonate with me and the things that make me happy. I have a tendensy to over-interlectualise my problems - trying to find reasons for not achieving or under-achieving. All of this is, of course, a whole bunch of capitalist brain-rot, but nevertheless the perfectionist in me struggles with the New Year. Instead, I try to reframe and witness that there is a lot that is entirely outside my control. I'll be writing out some of these things on paper, burning them, and blowing them out to the wind for the chaotic weather to take away - a symbolic reminder to go-with-the-flow and that the wheel keeps turning. I don't know about others, but The World and Temperance have been showing up in my readings pretty consistently.
I see this time as very 9 of Wands vibes, like a message of push through: there's more goodness to come! (i.e. the wands court cards, and the harvest season/Lammas/the height of summer). But also, there will there be much change, and change is good (i.e. New Years, this thundering weather, how Autumn proceeds summer). Feels appropriate that the 10 of wands - a card of carrying too many burdens - proceeds this. We then get that lovely playful page of wands, keen to explore and create. End-of-year reflection, to me in the Southern Hemisphere, is not so much a cosy, introspective time; but instead a fiery, chaotic, energetic time. I have to actively cultivate calm moments, because everything else is shifting. And as everything shifts, I'm finding ways to go-with-the-flow and shift with it - honoring what I can't control.

Claire Cross - Sleep Cycle - electro-acoustic chamber music based on EEGs of sleepers
Claire Cross explores the different phases of sleep on her new record, Sleep Cycle. Inspired by the work of Jon Hassell, William Basinski, The Australian Art Orchestra and Skúli Sverrisson, Claire draws on the language of contemporary jazz, ambient music and minimalism to present a mesmerizing work that is as beautiful as it is ambitious. “This record is a bit of a turning point for me in some respects,” explains Claire. “It’s my first attempt at flexing different composition and improvisation muscles I haven’t used before. I’ve previously been very much the kind of composer who arranges lots of parts or tries to have a lot of control over the writing, and this project has been about letting go of that and leaning into a more open approach to improvisation and composing.” “By researching what shows up on EEGs during sleep, and the dominant frequencies/waves of each phase, I found limitations that could be applied to musical situations and create an overall composition arc - things such as different frequency ranges of brain wave activity feeding into note choices, the amplitude of brain waves suggesting certain dynamics, different tempos, and so on. By finding ways to differentiate each phase I was able to create 5 contrasting ‘pieces’ that moved fairly seamlessly from one to the other.” “When performed live, we put a timer on and each section runs for roughly a set time that also loosely corresponds to the ratio of each phase per cycle. We also timed each section in the studio so that the album unfolds in the same way. This explains why some compositions are quite long versus others being a bit shorter. With all of this in mind, the music is quite repetitive and slowly unfolding, but with lots of interaction from the band and interesting textures being created. One thing I wanted to be mindful of was striking a balance between ‘following the science’ vs creating an interesting musical event - so sometimes I didn’t stick to all of my limitations so religiously.” With Sleep Cycle, Claire Cross has brought to life an important new chapter in her already storied career. This is an expertly executed record, sure to appeal to lovers of minimalism, contemporary jazz and ambient music.  Artwork and Design by Tornike Margvelashvili aka Mess_Montage This record was made on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation and we pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.

The Rainbow Serpent's Herald
Grayscale version (x)
Kenyizsu's First Law: Everything that receives my undivided attention shall be redesigned into a fantasy setting sooner or later.
---
It is rare the Rainbow Serpent crosses the veil to the mortal realm from the Dreamtime, even rarer for her to choose a champion among penguins. Once chosen, the champion must face all manners of supernatural foes and challenges to keep the Dreamtime eternal, the worlds in balance and their fellow penguins safe. Given the Dreamtime's timeless nature, peeking into the past, other parts of the present, or into the future, or even temporary time-traveling can indeed happen, usually in the most inopportune moments possible. Whether or not the champion experiences this sudden shift in life duties as a blessing or a curse, is entirely up to the penguin himself.
Personally, Rory absolutely loves the ride!
---
So! Once again a fantasy redesign! Because why not? :D I have literally zero plans with this idea beyond this picture, but by all that is holy, I researched the heck out of it as much as I could.
This is also the first picture I have colored with the Gradient Map technique, and a bit of a paintover as the final touch. Please let me know how it turned out, the good and the bad! Thank you! :blowkiss:
Trivia
Rory is from Bells Beach, Australia, which used to belong to the Wathaurong nation, as I have found out. In their art they don't really use dots, mostly crosshatching and circles, hence I opted to leave out dot-like decoration off the weapons entirely (Rory's design has them already, I'm not changing that).
The beaked boomerang (looking like a big 7) was one type of non-returning boomerang mostly used for melee fighting, acting as a hooked weapon. They also used it for cutting meat and digging, and should the beak break off, they just chiselled it down and used it as a regular non-returning boomerang. Originally Rory had a spear, but once I found this type of boomerang, I knew this would be his main weapon, certainly. The spear still made it onto the picture because I found a hella awesome looking aboriginal spear in a museum on Google! :D
The Rainbow Serpent's head shape and darker coloring compared to the rest of her body is based on the inland taipan. The design would have been either that, or the largest snake in Australia, the scrub python. But given how the inland taipan has the most potent venom in the entire goddamn world (cuz it's Australia, babyyy!), the choice became obvious. Her frills on her head come from some interpretations of the Serpent where it is drawn with horns or some kind of feathers (?) growing out of the two sides of his head, behind the eyes.
I haven't actually found any Rainbow Serpent-related myths within the Wathaurong or the Kulin alliance circles, they mostly believed in a creator spirit called Bundjil in the form of a wedge-tailed eagle. I guess the Serpent wasn't worshiped around those parts of Australia. Still, the general composition of Rory standing with a Rainbow Serpent was very strong in my mind, so I did not let that one go.
Originally the Serpent would have been absolutely massive, but I struggled to come up with a composition that would feel right to me. I probably could have done so eventually, but by pulling away from that and making it a more personal composition helped me progress finally. Maybe one day I will do the other idea!
I love my hobbies, honestly. I learn about so many awesome things. Hope you guys like the picture, let me know! ^^ Take care!

Hello hello,
Some random asks for you:
Favourite food?
Favourite compliment you've been given?
Favourite season?
Things that make you happy?
Hope you have a nice day!! 💜
Hello and thank you for the ask!!
Favourite food?
Oh god, how do I choose?
Favourite meal: a really great roast, preferably lamb or pork, with vegies and roast spuds and gravy. Guilty pleasure: CREAM. Yes, it's very unhealthy, too rich, etc, but it is a temptation. When I lived on a farm we used to skim it off the milk and have it on cereal. I like to put it on ice cream, let it harden and then eat it off the top. Like Agatha Christie, I do love neat cream.
Favourite compliment you've been given?
I'm going to go with something my therapist said to me one day when we were talking about the bullying I experienced in high school and how it shaped me, both positive and negative ways. She said, "My daughter's being bullied at school. If she was to turn out like you, I would be ecstatic."
Favourite season?
Autumn! Australia doesn't have many native deciduous trees, so it mostly stays green. But we get the most beautiful weather here in my part of the country - cool mornings, warming up to sunny days that are velvety-warm, not blast-furnace-hot, with a cool breeze. This is around March-April. To the First People of this part of the country, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, it is Iuk - eel season.
Things that make you happy?
My cats. My friends. Spending time with my work bestie, who is a true queen and makes me laugh so much. Knowing I have done a good job at something. Finding out the answer to a mystery. Knitting with beautiful colours and textures. Smelling beautiful scents. Eating delicious food.
Hope you have a nice day!! 💜
You too!!!

The best things in life are free. This release is neither. I'm charging money for it, although ultimately I don't really care if you obtained it without paying for it. Ideally I'd like to make money from it, but please don't let that stop you from redistributing it freely. Money makes the world go round. Time is money. My time is precious. I've spent a lot of time dreaming up "get-rich-quick" schemes but I'm yet to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It's a constant battle. I'm frequently in the red, frequently behind. Frequently playing catch-up. It's a dog-eat-dog world. Caught in a vicious cycle. It's the circle of life. Like the rat in the wheel, like a slave to the wage. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em? How depressing is that!? Damn the man. Be yr own boss. Help this sell-out grow a nest egg - buy into this cash grab.
KEY CONCEPTS: (anti-)capitalism, labour, power, captivity and freedom, cynicism, exhaustion/burnout, bacon, breathing down necks, lost minds, freaks, plans, hands, feeling lucky to have you by my side.
This release was created on land that was stolen from the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation.
Written, re-written, misdirected & overproduced by Adrian Trajstman (primarily in 2022, except for the MC-303 pattern on "To Meagan Or Max Or Mark Or Mia" which was sequenced around 50 bajillion years ago).
THANKS: friends, family, fans. NO THANKS: fear, failure, finance.
Notes on this release:
* I have multiple up coming releases in the piplien that were actually created before this one:
(a) 10 perplexingly dark TSB songs about auspol/celebrity chefs/rubbish on the side of the freeway etc recorded for a split release with a prolific egg-punk superstar,
(b) a progressively quickening 14-track psychedelic concept album featuring loads of bonkers hardware freakouts and zeo vocal pop songs
(c) pretty much all of the Adrian Alien Angel Band LP "69 Punk Songs" (project commenced 30 April 2014)
Those releases are destined for physical media! Releasing physical media requires time and money. This first release of "Music For Money" is unfortunately digital-only so that it can get OUT THERE as fast as possible!
* You can make money from this music too! If you run a record label and are interested in paying for and organizing the manufacture/distribution/sale/etc of a physical "Music For Money" release then please do reach out. I would love for this to happen.
* Mixed and masted using headphones only due to the fact that I blew my studio monitors DJing my friend's house party and couldn't afford the cost of repairs.
* After Deciding to title this release "Music for Money" I stupidly Googled the phrase and discovered that it is also the title of a really fun Ice MC single from 1996. Ice MC were responsible for one of the best songs on the Trainspotting soundtrack so I'm cool with it.
* After writing "Oppenheimer's Burden" I stupidly Googled the phrase and discovered that an artist named Dustin James had already released a song with this title in 2020. I decided to keep my title despite the fact that somebody else technically got there first.
*_ I am aware that The House That Jack Built is a film by Lars von Trier but I am yet to see it and it was not an influence on my song whatesover.
*_ Yes, I am aware of fact that the lyrics to "Yr My Shop" are utterly repugnant - I hope it's clear that just because I'm illustrating an attitude it doesn't mean that I'm explicitly endorsing it or necessarily hold it.
xxx Adrian

‘What is crime and what are the challenges in defining crime?’
Crime, at its core, is a societal construct designed to assign consequences to actions or in-actions that go against the values expressed within social groups for the intent of breeding the ideal sense of obedience or normalcy of accepted behaviour within the  group. As a societal concept, crime was conceived by humans rather than nature itself, though “laws” can be observed in scientific fields (e.g pertaining to gravity), and as such how it is able to be defined depends entirely on the human defining the term. The positionality of the individual tends to lean their exposition of the term and use of the term ‘crime’ as to whether it is a matter of politics, law, or morality – all of which, too, are social constructs. Defining crime within the bounds of politics, law, and morality acts as a limit to truly understanding or researching crime in the field of criminology beyond as an area of complex social manoeuvring that exists to organise what is and is not considered to be morally acceptable, and does not exist as its own concept but rather as a branch of sociology and social behaviours.
Anyone can create a rule within a social field whether that field is made of a million people or just one. As such, a rule (or a law) can be given to the one writing this piece to not use the letter ‘s.’ The letter ‘s’ was used before, but was not considered a crime then, but once that crime is stated to be in action – the letter ‘s’ now cannot be injected into the remainder of paragraph two – any individual who would embed the banned letter would be in a place to earn a penalty for breaching the law/rule given to them. Naturally, it would be  difficult to entirely apply the ban of the aforementioned letter to the full extent of a law branded into a broader group of people to the extent of another individual calling it “true crime” however, it would remain a law in that it be written and obeyed, and if the writer broke the rule they would face the penalty of failing to follow their argument that “anyone can create a rule” and, hence, anyone can create a crime, follow a crime, and carry out a penalty in the event that the rule be breached.
In this paragraph, another field, the aforementioned law against the letter ‘s’ is irrelevant because the letter ‘s’ is regarded as an ordinary letter. It can be discussed freely in this space and theories such as Classicism can be discussed more plainly. The second paragraph is a law that would have to be broken consciously as per the classicist interpretation of how crimes are committed; where the individual knowingly commits the inaction of not following the rule. Of course, there is a major flaw in classicism that comes with the issue of the major influences having a limited scope; who knows what the laws are? If someone was asked to continue the second paragraph without being told what the single banned latter was, they would have to guess which letter is banned. It could be ‘s’ or ‘q’ or ‘z.’ The lack of access to awareness of laws creates a significant increase in laws being broken by outsiders, for example the traditional laws  followed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders. The University of Melbourne’s home sits on the land of the Kulin nation where there is a seasonal welcome and set of rules as to who does what and where that most people on campus do not follow either consciously, because they do not feel it is necessary, or unconsciously because they are unaware of the rules. If crime can only be conscious, then the classicist’s critiques of the status quo and belief that crime is committed on the basis of intentional act is questionable in relation to defining what crime actually is.
For better or worse, much of what one believes is “crime” is largely dependent on what an individual believes holds the most power. If one believes that a church has the most power, then they will perceive crime as per the religion the church stands for. For example, “to commit a sin” is the Christian equivalent of committing a crime against the law. The first commandment (biblical) is; ‘[...] you shall not have strange Gods before [God]’ or, simply, one cannot believe in a God that is not the God. This is not a law in current society, but there was a time where believing in another deity was worth a death sentence. It is comparable to stealing bread – the individual has sinned against the law that bread ought not to be stolen in favour of their belief; the bread ought to be stolen. In this arrangement, the classicist view is correct in that the ‘crime’ was intentional. Furthermore, biological positivism comes into question. Are individuals born to follow a religion? Did the bread-thief steal bread because their nose is slightly hooked? One is a question of fate, the other is usually a question of racism and/or classism. Though, often religion, racism, and classism go hand in hand in determining what is and what is not appropriate. Who is the slave and who is the master - who breaks the law, who makes the law. In most religions observed today, there is a clash between the law of the state and the laws of the belief. Actions, inactions, hearsay. Thought crime, moral crime, legal crime; all mismatched together. Is there a preference for an afterlife of eternal suffering or a lifetime of jail?
In the current day, the most potent source of influence is the media. Social media which quickly peddles out controversies, the mastermind behind cancel culture – “this is how you should feel” and “this is how we feel” is the connective tissue that allows online social muscles to flex and bend the social paradigm. What is and is not normal depends on what posts one likes and which hashtags, creators, and trends they follow. New countries of people are formed even if they are not on the same land with their own laws and punishments. Territory battles between who can use what song, who can do what dance; two content creators from different sides of the internet make a video together and it is the next political agreement that shifts the course of the two e-countries' futures forever! Social media is backed largely by traditional media like newspapers, radio channels, or live shows with the subtle yet immeasurable difference in the ability for audiences to reproduce content and respond to comments. It is shaped by art, by books, by genres of music that have a history of influencing political views. Every individual is entitled to choose who and what they interact with, and which rules they follow – unless their country has specific laws that prevent certain topics or expressions in which laws are not just rules but rather physical barriers to access. Not just paper – solid, near-impenetrable walls.
There are not many things that everyone has the exact same view on. Similar to asking someone “what is the meaning of life?” asking “what is crime” is bound to set off discussions until someone says “it depends on who you ask.” There is no simple answer; once someone chooses;
For the meaning of life:
The meaning of life is to reproduce.
The meaning of life is to have fun.
The meaning of life is nothing.
The meaning of life is to die at the end of it.
Or
Crime is an action or inaction against the law.
Crime is an action or inaction that causes harm.
Crime is a behaviour that goes against what is socially acceptable/normal.
Crime is a social construct that means nothing to non-humans.
They are subject to defend their claim. A passionate individual may win the argument easily. They choose something that cannot be proven as there is no evidence, even if someone may believe there is. Someone may believe the purpose of life is to die at the end of it, but if they were having the discussion with a devout Buddhist who believes in rebirth, or a pagan who believes in Elysium then it must be debated on what “death” is. Similarly, a discussion between someone who believes in crime purely per laws created by legal, governing powers may struggle against someone who argues that a crime is a behaviour against what is normal or acceptable. Murder was not always a crime and, in some places today, still isn’t. To someone who believes entirely that crime is what goes against legislation, in an area where murder is legal, they therefore believe that murder is not a crime in that place. This disregards the agency of who knew the victim and their ability to respond to the behaviour that goes against what they believe is fair or “good.” From the other perspective, crime is not only behaviour that goes against what is societally expected or encouraged, so as long as it is acknowledged by one arguing that it is only behaviour or only on the basis of what a society believes, the argument is derailed. Hence, the major barrier to defining crime is positionality, where the individual stands. It is easy enough for one to say “everyone believes [x]” but whether or not it is true will forever be debatable unless the group is small enough, and if the group is small enough that they all agree on what crime is, then theoretically there would be no one to commit a crime against those rules – they all agreed, thus, there is no need for deviance.
Crime is a concept, criminology studies it. What it actually is? Who can really define it? When was the term coined? Probably the French in the 1800s, but laws existed before then and people were definitely breaking them. They also didn’t just exist in France, let alone Europe. Crime is and always was committed everywhere, all it takes is one person with enough status to say “that was a crime!”

two poems by lou (they/them)
the ones
birch wood brunette
those straight line teeth
forged the smile
the most brilliant hoax i’ve ever had the misfortune of knowing.
eyes of salt and freckle grain,
dots a map on your cheeks.
the map leads me back to you
circle me
round the globe
pondering your paper jaw
wondering what i’m supposed to feel.
what am i supposed to be.
you speak a tongue,
i am unfamiliar.
we are foreigners,
communicating with as much of
contradicting efforts.
you keep pushing
but i’m not pulling
we are not the ones.
you are not beautiful to me.
city.
i’m just a boy
in a big city
full of people who look at nothing
to avoid looking at something.
people who are dizzy with what they’ve consumed;
screaming curse words down the street.
people who shudder at the noise; its too loud
shoving plugs in their ears to drown sound with more sound.
people who just can’t stop;
walking slow
blowing clouds of poison to help ease their mind,
they are trying
but you can smell their infection in the air.
people who are poor;
sitting on wet pavement holding their signs of tragedy
praying someone will have enough pity
to drop a pathetic 20 cents into the 7/11 coffee cup at their feet.
people who are lost,
they can’t care anymore
leaving their undone shoe laces to soak up the leftover rain on the floor.
people who don’t let passengers get off the tram before they get on;
they don’t know what will come next
adoring the spontaneity,
but unfamiliar to control.
the city is full of people.
and i am just a boy
listening to alanis morrisette
standing too close to the tram
planting my bare feet in pools of rain
hiding my screen from peering eyes
not knowing which side of the elevator will open.
with blurry blue eyes
i’m scanning the faces of the people in the big city
who look at nothing
to avoid looking at
me.
