Mandalorians as Jewish Allegory

First of all, we have this quote right here:

"We'll rebuild [Mandalore]. Isn't that our history? For thousands of years, we have been on the verge of extinction, and for thousands of years we have survived." ―Din Djarin

If you just replace the word Mandalore with Israel, it is a completely plausible thing for a Jewish person to say.

Anyway, on to my essay:

History:

Both Mandalorians and Jews have an indigenous homeland that is intrinsic to their culture and belief system, (Mandalore and Israel respectively). Throughout their entire history, they have been consistently under attack from various regimes seeking to commit genocide against them, (Jedi, Empire for Mandalorians, Romans, Nazis, Soviets, Arab colonialism for Jews), and yet each group has managed to remain alive and retain their culture. The Siege of Mandalore has a lot of parallels to the destruction of the Temple, and the Mandalorian Purges are very similar to the antisemitic Pogroms. Both groups are forced out of their indigenous homelands and into a diaspora, under which they are consistently hunted and attacked. Eventually, both groups regain control of their homeland from the colonizers who held previous rule over it.

Culture:

Mandalorians are either born into the culture or adopt the Creed, which is similar to born Jews and Converts. There are groups of Orthodox Mandalorians, such as the Children of the Watch, who observe the traditional laws regarding the Creed, as well as headcoverings, (similar to Orthodox Jewish people). In contrast, there are also more liberal factions of both Mandalorians and Jews. There are specific foods and religious clothing associated with both groups, their own languages, their own mythical beasts. Also, both cultures have a ceremonial bath/Mikvah associated with rituals and conversion.

Overall, I think it's fair to say that Mandalorians are an excellent allegory for Jewish people. Mandalorians are Space Jews. You can't change my mind.

Forever annoyed that the fandom wants to pit the New Mandalorians against the True Mandalorians

"The existence of the New Mandalorians and True Mandalorians ruins the other-" Lmao tell me you don't know how different people from the same place can be while still wanting the same thing; just have the TM and NM be from the same ideology but aimed at different population sects - the TM for the Warrior Centric Clans and people while the NM is for the rest, and they can Still work together like the TM is an official branch of the finane department and the TM have a programmed week every 6 months to come talk to people about what they do and how they work, there I fixed it for you

Finally we watched the Mandalorian and immediately thought about Maul. Well he definietly sits more comfortable than Bo-Katan.

Bo Katan Helmet (Finished)

Not a lot to say that I didn't already say in the previous post. I had hoped that getting it painted would help further cover up a lot of the imperfections and roughness of this Worbla-coated 3D printed helmet, and it did, but it still wasn't quite enough.

The plan was to use Worbla in hopes of cutting out the sanding/filler step and achieve a smoother helmet much faster. Unfortunately, the jankiness of the rushed print created a lot of spaces the heated Worbla would fill in a bit too much and leave bumps and creases on the outer shell. So I STILL had to do a lot of filler and sanding to try and even it out, and it STILL didn't make it much better. (But at least I did finally manage to get those seams filled in and smoothed over.)

I tried to do a layer of Plasti-Dip before the other paint, but I ran out before even getting a full coat, so I just had to hope the actual paint would fill in the rough surface of the Worbla. And it...mostly did.

I knew the blue paint I had would be too dark, but I thought "maybe...?" It's too dark. I actually ended up repainting about 80% of the thing by hand. Tried making a painter tape stencil. Screwed it up, and just did the pattern by hand with silver and black permanent markers.

Then I gave it one last scrub with some fine sandpaper. Partly to scuff it up and get the worn look, and partly in hopes of getting it just a BIT smoother before the final finishing spray for which I employed my rarely used glossy finish.

So yeah. Quite the learning experience, like most projects. The lessons I learned from this will make future projects that much better.

SITH! OBI-WAN & ANAKIN SKYWALKER | WHAT IF? STAR WARS BY ME. I always liked the idea of Obi-Wan corrupted by the dark side, so i made this. Star Wars really needs a what if show.

If Obi-Wan had actually stayed on Mandalore with Satine after the Civil War and left the Jedi Order, it would've made The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones peak comedy.

Like, Qui-Gon would still be sent to Naboo and end up on Tatooine, he'd still meet Anakin and take him back to the Temple. But, in this AU, he survives the battle on Theed and takes Anakin as his padawan. And the entire Order would be making jokes:

"Congrats on the new padawan! Hope he sticks around longer than the last one!" "We'll keep this one off the bodyguard missions, eh Qui-Gon?"

So one day little Anakin’s like "hey master, what happened to your last padawan?" And Qui-Gon's like "oh he ran off with a girl, yeah he's royalty in the Outer Rim now".

And it's all fine and dandy until Anakin’s nineteen and they get assigned to protect Padmé, and Qui-Gon takes one look at this kid's face and thinks "You've got to be fucking kidding me, this shit again??"
